Yusuke Kitagawa VS Akisa Insiki is Dangerous2nites 5th episode of his second season of Death Battle and 11th episode overall in a battle between two socially awkward summoners with parental issues.
Intro[]
Many of us have idolised Heros who have influenced our lives in many different ways. But sometimes those heroes we’ve idolised can actually have some rather unpleasant skeletons in the closet and while this truth can be devastating true heros can push past this heartbreak and use it to drive themselves to become a TRUE hero.
Like Yusuke Kitagawa the ice wielding persona user of the Phantom Thieves.
And Akiza Insiki the psychic duelist turned signer of Team 5Ds.
I'm Dangerous2nite and it is not my job to analyse their weapons armour and skills but i have nothing better to do than figure out who would win a Death Battle.
Yusuke paints a picture in Death Battle[]
Throughout the city of Tokyo you can find many powerful figures. From powerful CEOs to past olympians to crooked politicians. But very few are as respectful and well known as the great artist Madarame. Famous for his many paintings and honourable lifestyle despite making ridiculous amounts of money he chose to live in a dingy shack and even took up many pupils to help further their talents. One of these pupils was none other than Yusuke Kitagawa. After his mothers death he was taken in by Madarama who soon discovered that he held a natural talent for the arts. Under his watchful eye Yusuke spent many years honing these talents and soon became Madaramas top pupil.
But don’t be fooled. Yusuke's life was far from as idealistic as it sounds. In reality Madarame was actually using and abusing his many pupils forcing them to churn out magnificent paintings and taking credit for them then sending them out on the street homeless and without a penny. If they didn’t kill themselves first. Yusuke was no different from these students and in fact his own mother was a fellow student who had painted Madarame's best and most well known work and shortly after had a seizure right in front of him. Tempted by the wealth and fame, Madarame chose to let her die instead of getting her help. Taking Yusuke in as what appeared to be a gesture of goodwill to bolster his public image was actually a plot to keep Yusuke from ever actually discovering the truth of what happened. In fact his impressive skill at art was actually nothing more than a stroke of luck for Madarame.
Deadpool: “But Madarames’ crimes weren’t going to be kept secret for long. Enter the Phantom Thieves Of Hearts. A ragtag group of teenagers who brought about their own special kind of justice. By using their mobile phones, kids these days am I right? They could travel to an alternate world where they could travel into your mind, beat you up and force you to turn good.”
That’s certainly one way of explaining everything. This alternative world was the Metaverse. A cognitive world where our shadow selves live. See in every being there exists a shadow self. Basically each shaodow is a reflection of our own beliefs and desires that we keep repressed. But should a person's desires be so strong they can over take them forcing them to view the world and themselves in a twisted way. Most of these shadows exist in the depths of Mementos but sometimes if a shadows feelings become so strong they can break free and form a palace. A palace is basically a warped version of a real world location that holds some significance to them based around how they view it. Like how another palace ruler Kamoshida saw the school he worked at as a Castle as his olympic background basically gave him free reign to even go so far as to abuse students. Madarame himself was as you may have guessed it no different. His warped view of his Shack was a Museum in which the exhibits were giant paintings of his past victims representing his view that they were nothing more than products. After hearing rumors about Madarame and his true self the Thieves decide to investigate him but ironically it would be them who were approached by none other than Yusuke. Wanting to draw one of their members for his painting and inviting them to visit an exhibit in order to try and convince her to model for him. Once the Thieves' true motive of discovering information is revealed Yusuke, partially out of fear and partially as a result of his warped mindset due to his abuse, defends his master and kicks the group out threatening to call the police if they ever set foot and blackmailing Ann into posing nude for him.
Deadpool: “That’s pretty messed up are we sure he’s a hero?”
Well to be fair, while it doesn’t excuse him completely this was technically all a result of the ends justify the means mindset that Madarame had instilled in him. In any case the Phantom Thieves didn’t give up obviously and after a recon mission gone wrong Yusuke bore witness to the original Sayori, thought to be long missing still in Madarames’ possession. He learned that Madarame has actually arranged the story of a long lost art piece to boost its popularity and was copying and selling bootlegs as a way to make money. But the story doesn’t end there. Threatening to call the police on Ann for trespassing in an attempt to get away Ann had no choice but to escape into the Metaverse dragging Yusuke with her. Here he came face to face with Madarames’ shadow self. Now face to face with the true reflection of Madarame Yusuke could no longer avoid the truth. This revelation broke Yusuke but also awoke something in him. See just as shadow selves could overtake a person a person could also embrace their shadow self. For years fear and abuse had forced Yusuke to abandon and refuse to accept the truth of the reality around him but now that it was out and his world came crumbling down around him Yusukes’ shadow called out to him. Signing a contract it gave him the perfect tool he needed to fight back against Madarame and all the rotten adults of the world. His persona Goemon.
Pop up: Fun Fact each of the Phantom Thieves personas’ are based on famous thieves of history.
Goemons’ power is incredible. Wielding the power of ice as well as a bunch of physical skills Goemon revolves around using strategic strikes to take down his foes fast and with style-
Deadpool: “Just like you in the bedroom!:
Wha-who told you that? I mean not that it's true I just had too much to drink and it was a one time thin-moving on. Goemon has a wide array of skills such as Mabafu which deals ice damage to all his foes simultaneously and his upgraded versions Mabufula and Mabufudyne. All of these moves have a good chance to freeze his enemies solid leaving them unable to move until they thaw out. He also has his physical moves like his HeatWave which deals a lot of damage to all his foes or the more impressive Vorpal Blade. But if he needs to strike down someone fast and hard-Shut up Deadpool-he has his Brave Blade which deals colossal damage to one foe. But his moveset isn’t based solely around dealing damage. He has plenty of support type moves like his Masukukaja which increases his speed and agility for a short time. But thanks to his Speed Master ability he gets this boost at the start of a battle so there's no need to spend a turn using it. Actually that moves a bit more useful than you might think. See personas’ can’t use their skills indefinitely. They have a finite pool of so-called SP which they use to activate their oves. Well except for Yusuke's physical moves which sap his HP instead.
With his adventures with the Phantom Thieves his bond with them grew stronger and stronger but he also grew his own bond with himself. And this acceptance of his inner sense meant that his Persona evolved first into Kamu Susano-o with which he received a better chance at avoiding all fire attacks, and then again into Gorokichi, who appears to be some Third Street Saint wanna-be. These personas are way stronger than his base one and in base form he's’ strong enough to freeze up his foes and shadows with ease. Hell at one point he even did this
By scaling Goemon, which is shown to be of a somewhat similar height to Yusuke to the whirlwind here we can deduce that the amount of energy needed to create this level of ice would be around 23273822 joules of energy.
Pop-up: keep in mind that this calc is based around what can be seen on screen and as such, the end result is likely higher
What's more, Goemon's attributes means that he and Yusuke are completely immune to any and all ice attacks and actually reflect those types of attacks back to where they came from. He also has the ability High Counter which grants him a 20% chance to reflect all physical attacks back where they came from. Not only that but each persona has a unique ability special to them that aids their user in battle. Yusukes’ persona has the ability Unparralled Eyes which increases his chance to avoid enemy attacks in battle.
Pop-up: While the exact nature of how this works isn’t specified it most likely increases Yusukes reaction speeds
But Goemon isn’t Yusukes only ace up the sleeve. Yusuke also carries an assortment of weapons to help him aid his fellow thieves in battle. For up close and personal fights he wields a collection of traditional anime swords which he can swing with deadly precision and he’s even fast enough to do the classic anime trope slash. Each of these can also carry their own special effects like his Chronic Boss which increases his power by 5. But his best and most powerful one is most definitely the Usumidori. This weapon is the strongest of his swords by far but it also carries a high change to cause...er fear in his enemy.
Deadpool: “Yeah I think getting stabbed by a sword would scare any sane person regardless.”
He also carries a modicum of assault rifles for long range combat. Again he carries a wide range but the standouts are definitely his Kuzuryu’s Gun,which can cause a random effect to affect his target such as paralysis or burning, and his Heaven’s Gate which somehow increases his speed by 10 points. I mean logically would a gun slow him down because he’s adding more weighing him dow-
Deadpool: “Dude you’re trying to apply logic to a world where characters use their inner demons to fight gods.”
Good point. Actually speaking of which Yusuke has a good list of victories under his belt. He helped take down his former master Madarames’ shadow Azazel, not to mention other palace rulers like Kaneshiros’ shadow Bael and Seas’ shadow Leviathan. And when push came to shove he even assisted in taking down the big boys like Shido,The actual fucking Holy Grail which was powered by the hopes and desires of the entire planet and even Yaldaboth who was actually also the Holy Grail but also God. Like The God. Yeah Personas’ pretty weird. But not only was Yusuke able to stand against these foes but he was also able to take hits from them. Like he was able to take blows from deities powered by the entire planets’ freaking hopes and dreams. No, I don’t know how to explain it.
But even though he’s capable of taking hits the equivalent to everyone on the planet slapping him all at once he’s not invincible. For one thing while he can certainly take hits from these kinds of foes he’s rarely the one to do any lasting damage and more often than not these victories are as a result of a team effort than solo power. On the other end of the spectrum while Yusuke can take a hit from these types of foes Goemon is noticeably much weaker and when a persona is defeated while its user can just summon them back all the pain suffered by their persona causes a mental strain on the user. Whats more should Yusuke lose his will of rebellion he will be unable to summon his persona and revert back to a normal human being.
It’s also worth noting Madarames’ life of abuse left Yusuke with a troubled mindset and a terrible case of Stockholm Syndrome. Even after breaking free from the abuse he suffered he still fails to see anything wrong with Madarames’ methods and still holds on to the belief that when it comes to the sake of art ,the end justifies the means. Though thankfully not to the same extent as he used to. He’s also not the most socially active person around. For one thing he will often drop everything for the sake of something he finds aesthetically pleasing, like Lobsters for instance and the only thing stopping him from going full nudist is the law of man.
Deadpool: “But hey we’re not here to judge his social skills. With the Phantom Thieves at his back Yusuke will do whatever it takes and never back down to protect his friends and his new family.”
...That was oddly respectful of you.
Deadpool: “Well hey I do have a serious side.”
Akisa signs up for a Death Battle[]
New Domino City. A place filled to the brim with hopeful duelists, the higher ups and elites that run the city. Here you can find such respectful faces like the city director Rex Goodwin and renowned actress Misty Tredwell. But look a little harder and chances are you’ll find a darker side to this paradise. And one of the biggest darkest secrets it hid was the Arcadia Movement. Run by the ruthless Sayer he planned to overthrow Rex Goodwin and overtake and rule New Domino in revenge for the discrimination he faced as a pschic duelist. See while Yu-gi-oh monsters are for the most part holograms with no way to impact the real world psychic duelists like Sayer are capable of bringing life to their cards making them tangible. In addition any attacks or damage a duelist takes from these monsters becomes real. But even with these abilities Sayer couldn’t overtake New Domino all on his own. So he began to search for other duelists with the same abilities to recruit for his cause. And out of all he found none were better or more powerful than Akisa Iziniski.
As a young girl Akisa spent her time isolated from her father as he often had to work leaving her and her mother at home alone. One birthday Akisa waited patiently for her father to return as he had promised her a duel together when he returned. While she fell asleep she awoke to find her present on her pillow. Immediately forgiving her father she eagerly asked for her promised duel. Hideo however had to go to work instead. Enraged Akisa declared her hatred of her father and told him to never return. Hideo eventually did make time for a duel however but halfway through her father received a phone call and...well you can guess. Akisa, angered that her promised duel she had to wait so long for had been cut short, finally reached her limit. This was the straw that broke the camel's back for her and for the first time in her life unleashed her powers. In the resulting chaos she accidentally injured her father. Once she calmed down scared and confused she immediately ran to her fathers side to help him and seek comfort. Instead her father told her to stay away and labeled her a monster. Devastated by these words and scared of her powers blaming herself for this incident she isolated herself from her parents.
Deadpool: “Sooo she isolates herself because she blamed herself for an incident that happened to her parents? Y’know this is sounding a little bit like that other Persona chick's backstory. Y’know the one that swordfighter guy simps for.”
Well yes but Akisas’ story didn’t end there. Her powers began to increase and go even further out of control. At school she accidentally summoned a Gigaplant that ran wild and attacked her fellow students which resulted in her father slapping her as punishment. Still believing herself to be a monster she believed herself to have deserved this. Eventually Akisa earned entry into Duel Academy, a respected place where duelists learned to hone her skills. Her parents hoped that here she could find someone to teach her how to hone her powers. Unfortunately her previous experiences had left her bitter and gave in to her fate as a monster. From the first day she injured many duelists with her cards due to her powers which ended up making her isolated from the rest of the students. While Akisa pretended to be cold and emotionless during all this inside she was in pain. She desperately wanted a place to live and belong. One night it was too much for her to bear and in desperation ran home as despite all the pain that had followed her there it was still the only place she ever felt loved. But when she returned home she saw her parents happy and enjoying their lives without her. Happier than they had ever been with her in fact. Hurt, betrayed and even more isolated than ever Akisa finally snapped. She destroyed her family home and left forever determined to live alone believing that her family had never actually loved her and decided never to actually get close to anyone ever again.
Until she met Sayer. Leading her in with false promises he manipulated her into joining his cause. Eventually the two grew close and Sayer helped her master her powers. Under him she mastered her powers and became his top pupil and eventually he decided to reveal the Arcadia Movement by entering her in the World Cup Grand Prix as their representative. Donning a mask and under the alias The Black Rose Akisa quickly beat many top duelists and made it through the tournament. And it's no wonder why. Her skills as a duelist were evident even as a child.
Deadpool: “That's before she went all crazy psychic duelist too”
Not only that she has a wide variety of monsters at her disposal each with their own unique and devastating abilities. These include her Evil Thorns which, despite only having 100 attack and 300 defense points, can destroy itself to inflict 300 points of damage to her opponents and then summon two more straight to the field to defend herself or to attack her foe.
Pop-up: Keep in mind that with the anime and the main card game taking place in two different continuinces we will be using the anime effects of her monsters for this bout.
She also has her Lord Poison which can special summon any plant type monster from her graveyard after its own destruction. When she wants to be defensive she has two copies of her Hedge Guard which she can discard to intercept an attack and protect her monsters while halfing her opponent's monsters attack points. However it's worth noting that any damage she takes from those attacks she still takes. But most of her deck revolves around burn damage tactics. In other words she deals multiple and overwhelming bits of damage using many of her card effects to wear her opponent down. Her cards include her Ivy Wall which can summon an Ivy Token to her opponent's field when it is destroyed. In turn when this token is destroyed its controller takes 300 points of damage. But her most destructive monster is her Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis.
Pop-up: While Cluster Amaryllis does require a tribute in duel there have been many instances of characters summoning higher level monsters in battle without tributes outside of duels. Likewise there have also been instances where various rules such as only allowing one summoning at a time have been ignored. Since we will be examining who would win in an actual fight and not a duel, per the rules of Death Battle we will be allowing Akisa to do the same.
This heavy hitter boasts a mighty 2200 attack points at the coast of 0 defense points. Actually that's not really a cost considering that every time it's destroyed her opponent takes 800 points of damage. It also happens to self destruct after every attack but resurrects itself in defense mode during her end phase. She also has some pretty powerful synchro monsters like her Splendid Rose which has the ability to banish one plant type monster from her graveyard to half the attack of one of her opponent's monsters until the end of the turn. Plus if it destroys one of her opponent's monsters she can banish another plant monster and attack again.
Pop-up: Like with Cluster Amaryllis there have been instances of synchro monsters being summoned outside of duels without tunings including instances where Akisa herself has done so.
But even despite her skill and incredible monsters there was another reason she was the Arcadia Movements top pupil. See there was one more thing about Akisa that made her special. Her Signer Mark. See these signer marks were each bestowed to 5 incredible duelists by the Crimson Dragon,an ancient deity who watched over and protected New Domino from evil,to help it battle against evil. Most likely due to the incredible potential she held The Crimson Dragon chose to bestow her the mark of the foot. And with the mark of a dragon came a brand new incredible weapon. Each signer gained a powerful ally known as a signer dragon. These dragons were also ancient beings created by the Crimson Dragon. They exist along with other duel monsters in a separate dimension called the Spirit World but accompany and protect each signer when they are awakened. And befittingly her dragon was known as the Black Rose Dragon.
Pop-up: Normal monsters and Signer Dragons like Ancient Fairy Dragon have been shown to live in this world and other Yu-Gi-Oh animes have also shown the existence of the Spirit World including the original anime and GX.
This level 7 synchro dragon has 2400 attack points and 1800 defense points. But what really sets this dragon apart from the rest of her ferocious monsters are its special abilities. First off when it's summoned she can straight up destroy all cards on the field. But if she chooses to keep it around then she can banash one of her destroyed plant type monsters to reduce one defending monster's attack to 0 and switch it to attack position leaving it defenceless to any incoming attacks. To support her dragon she also has the Blue Rose Dragon which can special summon it from the graveyard after its own destruction although its effects are negated. Not like it needs it. Hell this dragon is so strong it managed to fight off a horde of netherworld demons alongside another signer dragon. It can impale you with its thorns, shoot energy blasts from its mouth, heal people or create a rose storm strong enough to destroy nearly everything. Not only that but Signer Dragons have frequently fought with the Earthbound Immortals. Two Earthbound Immortals were strong enough to create enough energy to create a blast this big.
By scaling the size of the Earthbound Immortal to Akisa in this shot here and then comparing the size of the building to the same Earthbound Immortal here
and then comparing the size of this building to the nearby buildings, considering that all the buildings in this space were pulverised then splitting the total amount of tnt in half since this was completed by two we can deduce that the blast needed to have a force of around 3274 tons of tnt. Also this isn’t some crazy outlier. See the battle between the signer dragons and the Earthbound Immortals had already been established to have happened many years before the events of the series so logically all signer dragons should be in around the same ballpark.
Deadpool: “Yeah i bet all those Ash VS Yugi skeptics are suddenly second guessing themselves now. Seriously go watch the show. Those monsters do crazy shit like that all the time.”
Not only does she have some pretty powerful monsters but she also has a few powerful spell and trap cards.
Pop-up: Keep in mind that the rules of a duel states that traps must be placed on the field for a whole turn before being activated. Unlike with monsters duelists have not used traps outside of duels and as such it's hard to actually tell what use they are outside of one especially with verse equation meaning that these are too hard to accurately analyse and will be kept out of analysis. Spell cards do not have this same weakness and will be included if possible.
She has the powerful field spell Black Garden. This card covers the field in a giant...well garden but also has a powerful ability. Whenever a monster is summoned the controller of that monster gets a Rose token summoned in attack position to their side of the field. These tokens can’t be destroyed by battle but also have only 800 attack and defense points. Also all other monsters that are summoned have their attacks halved. However she can destroy this spell as well as any plant type monsters on the whole field to special summon one plant type monster from her graveyard with attack equal to or less than the total attack of all destroyed plant type monsters. She also has her Shining Rebirth which lets her select one synchro monster from her graveyard and synchro summon it from the graveyard using the appropriate synchro material monsters on her field. But when the situation calls for it she can pull out the big guns or..eh..roses. Like her Thorn Of Malice which increases the attack of her Black Rose Dragon or other plant type monster by 600 points. Also instead of being destroyed, any monster the equipped monster battles loses 600 attack and defense after each battle. But if a monster proves too difficult for her to deal with she has the equip spell Mark Of The Rose. Possibly representing her own duality towards her own feelings towards her mark this card lets her take control of one of her opponent's monsters. For a short time. At the end of the turn the control returns to her opponent but she gains control once again during her standby phase.
But even with all this power at her fingertips she's still not invincible. For one thing when her monsters are destroyed she can’t resummon them without a card effect meaning an opponent can potentially outlast them if they’re able to continually destroy them plus her psychic powers are a double edged sword. Not only does her opponent take real damage but so does she. But her biggest weakness is that she's still 100% human meaning if an opponent is able to get past her defenses and attack her directly they could end the fight pretty quick.
Pop-up: While Jack did take a blast from the King Of The Netherworld it’s unlikely that this blast was meant to do any serious damage as the ritual was stated to require the signers as a sacrifice.
But even so she's still managed to accomplish a hell of a lot. She managed to break free of Sayers control, master her powers and even patched things up with mom and dad. Plus with Team 5DS at her back she finally found that perfect family she always dreamed of and found a place she belongs. And she will always be willing to fight for it no matter what the cost.
Akisa: “A cold flame envelopes the world. Black flower bloom. Come forth Black Rose Dragon.”
Intermission[]
All right the combatants are set
Deadpool: "Yadda yadda yadda, you know th edrill by now so lets get into this."
Fight[]
Yusuke was rushing down the streets of Shibuya. His fellow Phantom Thieves were preparing to infiltrate a palace. He set off early but was distracted by the artistic beauty of a billboard he had seen. He had sat down to sketch it completely absent minded of all time. As he was running he heard the sound of a explosion that shook the ground around him. Running down a nearby ally, which he determined to be the origin of the attack he saw quite the unexpected sight. A young man wielding some sort of weird arm accessory cowering in fear and across from him a woman with the same arm acessory. But there was something else. Next to her was some kind of beast. A Dragon made out of flowers.
Yusuke: (Internally) “Could she be...a persona user?”
Akisa: “Black Rose Dragon finish him. End this duel with Black Rose flare.”
Yusuke watched in horror as the dragon attacked the young man sending him flying with such force Yusuke himself was forced to defend himself from the aftershocks only for them to send him flying. After the attack went through Akisas’ duel disk retracted itself and her Black Rose Dragon disapeared. She turned to leave and thats when she noticed Yusuke lying on the ground. She rushed over to help him.
Akisa: “Hey are you ok?”
Upon opening his eyes Yusuke was immediately struck by the sight before him and leapt to his feet with alarming speed.
Yusuke: “I found it. The inspiration I’ve been searching for.”
Akisa: “Excuse me?”
Yusuke: “Your beauty I wish to capture it!”
Understandably crept out by the words of her foe Akisa jumped back in horror. By the time she had collected herself together Yusuke had rose up turned and began to walk towards her. In response Akira activated her duel disk to prepare herself and issued a warning to her foe.
Akisa: “Listen up creep walk away now or I’ll do something that I really don’t want to do!”
Yusuke was taken aback by her words for a moment. Without giving him time to register what had happened Akisa pulled out one of her cards to warn her for
Akisa: “Come forth Evil Thorn!”
Placing a card on her disk Yusuke watched in horror as some sort of giant flower rose up out of apparently nowhere.
Akisa: “Evil Thorn activate your effect now!”
The thorn in question disapeared as soon as it came, self destructing with multiple spikes flying towards her foe. When the smoke cleared Yusuke looked in horror as now two more of these things stood in its place.
Powering through the pain Yusuke pulled out his mobile phone
Yusuke: “It seems I have no choice.”
Opening the Metaverse app it did its job sending out purple ripples around the two summoners. Akisa looked around at the effect surronding her until she caught sight of her foe who had now changed his outfit. Yusuke put his hands on the mask that lay upon his face.
Yusuke: “Come forth,Gorokichi.”
Ripping off his mask, waves of light blue energy surounded him and his foe and in seconds another being materialesed next to him. Akisa didn’t have time to process what had happened when Yusuke spoke again.
Yusuke: “Gorokichi strike!”
Gorokichi charged at the two thorns that defended Akisa and with a single strike cleaved them straight in two. Without missing a beat Gorokichi proceeded to charge towards Akisa with alarming speed. As he raised his weapon a mighty roar shook the battlefield. Yusuke looked around in horror trying to find the source of the sound, while his persona was unbothered and prepared to end the fight quickly. As he brought his weapon down on his foe both he and his summoner were surprised by the words that came out of their foe’s mouth.
Akisa: “You should have walked away when you had the chance but now you’ve tried to pluck a rose with too many thorns. Come forth Black Rose Dragon!”
As Akisa uttered these words her arm began to glow in a strange red light. Gorokichi was soon blown back by incredible gusts of winds as a even brighter red light began to materalise behind Akisa. Soon it began to take shape into the form of the Black Rose Dragon.
Akisa: “And if you thought my dragon was bad just you wait. Come forth Blue Rose Dragon and Gigaplant.”
Yusuke looked in horror as two more creatures arose on her side of the field and reached for his sword in anticipation.
Akisa: “Now go! Strike him down Black Rose,Black Rose Gale. And don’t think I forgot about my other two creatures,go strike him down now.”
As the three monsters attacked Yusuke and his persona dodged the attack of her Black Rose and as his persona dealt with her Blue Rose Dragon he chose to go after her Gigaplant. As it tried to swat it with his giant tenticles but Yusuke dodged his attacks as it he ran towards it cleaving one in two with a swing on his sword. As he got closer to it he raised his sword to stike it before her Black Rose Dragon wrapped one of its thorns around him and threw him into the wall of a nearby building.
Akisa: “Hmm. If thats all you got then this will be over quick. Go my monsters attack him now!”
Now conered all three of her monsters ganged up on the Phantom Thief. Charging up their attacks they stuck him without mercy, their combined strength shown as a giant explosion appeared where the artist formely lay.. Akisa watched as the smoke cleared and beheld Yusuke practically undamaged and his persona stood upright next to him.
Yusuke: “A breath taking sight. Your monsters are quite artistically pleasing but I’m afraid that now I must strike them down. Go Gorokichi, strike now.”
Akisa watched in horror as the persona summoned forth a storm of ice and snow. She placed her arms in front of her to brace herself from the coming attack. As she felt the attack disapear she lowered her arms and saw her three monsters frozen solid. As she was destracted she noticed Yusuke run up behind her. He pulled out his sword and with a quick movement of his sword attacked the Black Rose.
His sword pearced her flesh causing her to scream in pain. Yusuke prepared to finish the fight only to be knocked back by a giant rose tentacle. With a mighty roar the Black Rose Dragon broke out of its icy prision. Akisa put her hand on the spot where her foe had struck and Yusuke watched in horror as it began to glow. When she removed her hand her flesh was completely healed. Ready for another battle Yusuke summoned his persona again.
Akisa: “Ok you’re strong. Well then its time for me to break out the big guns. Come forth Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis.”
As her monster arose it wasn’t long before she made her move.
Akisa: “First I’ll activate my Black Rose Dragons special ability. Now your monster is useless. Go Black Binding Bloom.”
Yusuke watched in horror as many tentacles wrapped around his persona trapping it in place. But Akisa wasn’t finished
Akisa: “Now go Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis strike his monster down now.”
Her monster attacked Gorokichi with full force and with the persona to counter attack the clash resulted with the Duel Monster cleaving through the persona with relative ease.
Akisa: “Oh and by the way when my Cluster attacks its automatically destroyed. And when my Cluster is destroyed it leaves you a nice little parting gift.”
Yusuke watched in horror as Cluster Amaryllis’ effect took hold. While Yusuke was distracted by the effect of her monster Akisa took the time to launch a direct attack. With nothing to defend him Yusuke took the full force of her dragons attack. Knocked back by this attack Yusuke slowly began to rise from the ground.
Akisa; “Ready to give up? You brought this on yourself so you have no one to blame for this.”
In response to her words Yusuke said nothing. He merely paced his hand on his mask and uttered two words before ripping it off.
Yusuke: “Come forth PERSONA!!!!”
Akisa watched in horror as a familiar sight befell her. Blue gusts of energy surronded the two summoners and Akisa stared in disbelief as Gorokichi stood before her again.
Akisa: “What but I just destroyed that!”
Akisa took a moment to collect herself before continuing.
Akisa: “Well I guess I’ll just have to destroy it again.”
Yusuke had but one response to this.
Yusuke: “Gorokichi go and end this now.”
Yusuke’s persona charged towards the Black Rose as she let out a small smile.
Akisa: “Or I could do this! Go I banish one plant type monster in my graveyard from play I can use the spell card Mark Of The Rose.”
The persona stopped dead in its tracks as a small red mark appeared on its neck.
Akisa: “I figured that no matter how many times I destroyed your monster you’d just resummon it back. So I decided if you can’t beat them, join them. Now your monsters under my control and I think that, alongside my Black Rose Dragon I’ll have him attack you directly. GO!!!”
Yusuke watched in terror as the two creatures launched and attack of ice and fire at the artist. As the two attacks connected the thief let out a scream as the resulting explosion engulfed him. As the smoke cleared Akisa readied herself in preporation but this time there was no one there. Akisa let out a sigh as her opponent had finally been vanquished.
As Akisa relaxed she let out a scream as she felt a incredible pain in her stomach. She looked down and saw a sword piercing right through her. In reality her foe had avoided her prior attacked and in the resulting chaos had snuck up behind her. Before she or her dragon could react Yusuke twisted his sword and with a swift movement cleaved his foe clean in two. As the Black Rose let out one final scream her dragon disapeared in a explosion of yellow lights and the mark on Gorokichi faded. As Yusuke finished the battle he returned from the Metaverse and back into the real world, where he was met by a terrifying sight. His fellow Phantom Thieves who had been waiting for him approached him with malice in their eyes. Yusuke sensed that an explination would not suffice for them at this moment and decided to run.

This was actually a fairy complicated match up. For one thing it's pretty clear that Akisa held a good few advantages over him. For example it's pretty obvious that Akisa was a lot more experienced than Yusuke, not to mention she had a whole lot more versatile techniques than him and that healing magic was something Yusuke didn’t have at all. But Yusuke did have the grit he needed to power through all her versatile techniques and also most of her cards and monsters were only one use tricks.
Pop-up: Keep in mind that some of her card effects relied on time limits and phrases like “End Of Turn” which were difficult to deter with verse equation but even so with these time limits it still meant Yusuke had time to work around card effects.
Not really useful considering the fact that Yusuke had moves that could target each of them simultaneously and when personas are destroyed they can be resummoned instantly. And remember only Black Rose Dragon had the kind of real fire power and durability that she needed. The rest were unfortunately much weaker. But hell even if they did one kickass dragon capable of destroying everything is all you need. Comparing Goemon's best feats to the Black Rose Dragon there was no contest who was stronger. Also remember that the Signer Dragons and the Earthbound Immortals have battled before and should reasonably scale to each other. This means not only was the Black Rose Dragon capable of dishing out that kind of power but it could take it to. Yeah Yusuke didn’t really have any real way of taking out that dragon while Akisa could take out his persona 7 ways till sunday. But see this is where it gets complicated. See while Black Rose Dragon could easily take care of Goemon with ease surprisingly Yusuke was a completely different story. Hes’ proven time and time again that it takes a lot to put him down. Like when he took hits from The Holy Grail and Yaldabaoth. The Holy Grail was powered by the wishes and dreams of the entire population of earth and hell Yaldaboth was the one who CREATED that alternative world in the first place. Before proceeding to fuse the cognitive and real world as one while also mind controlling all of them. Hell even if Yaldabaoths’ effects were limited to just Tokyo it would still be far more destructive than Black Rose Dragons whose power output would basically be the equivalent of covering a town. Now while Yusuke didn’t scale to this level of power to take down the Black Rose Dragon Akisa herself was another story. Remember she was basically just a normal human and has been hurt by regular human things like when she was injured in a motorcycle crash.
Deadpool: “But wait a minute didn’t Akisa also have ways of lowering Goemon's attack?:
Well yes that's true but not to any extent that it would make much difference. Especially when you consider how Yusuke could also get up close and finish it. Her card effects probably weren’t going to do much against a sword and gun. Plus even so she would basically be resetting the scale when Goemon was destroyed. After all don’t forget Yusuke's moves could target multiple targets meaning that he could basically attack her while also destroying her monsters meaning her defenses weren’t exactly going to cut it. In fact much of Akisas’ arsenal was better suited to the long run,for instance her burn cards. While I’m sure there are a few instances where Akisa could outlast Yusuke especially considering his limited energy but overall Yusukes’ arsenal and power output were enough to end the fight pretty quick.
Deadpool: “But couldn’t Akisa just take control of Goemon and put a stop to it then and there?”
She technically could but only for a limited time and even then remember that not just Yusuke and Goemon but the Phantom Thieves as a whole were unable to reliably fight back against Yaldabaoth and his offensive capabilities were much less than his defensive capabilities meaning even Yusuke himself didn’t have that many capabilities of harming himself.
In short this was a fascinating fight but in the end Yusukes’ grit, durability, tenacity and arsenal just helped him power through anything Akisa could throw at hims
Deadpool: “The root of the problem was that Akisa didn’t have enough bloom which painted a very clear picture and helped Yusuke steal a victory.”
The winner is Yusuke Kitagawa!
