Boomstick: You know, Wiz? Pick-haired Anime girls are always a mixed bag: they’re either the cutest and most innocent fictional girls ever. Or the most PSYCHOTIC FREAKS YOU COULD EVER ENCOUNTER.

Wiz: Like Yuno Gasai, Future Diary’s Goddess of Time & Space and one of Anime’s most beloved Yanderes.

Boomstick: Or Kaede, Elfen Lied’s Queen Diclonius, and one of Anime’s most beloved Yangires.

Boomstick: He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick!

Wiz: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armors and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.

Yuno Gasai

(*Cues Future Diary Opening Theme*)

Wiz: In the metropolitan city of Sakurami, a pink-haired orphan was living presumably the typical life of an orphan, until she was adopted by her adoptive parents. The girl’s name in that day became Yuno Gasai.

Boomstick: and as a present for that, they received a- Yuno’s umbilical cord as a memento of her real parents? WTF?!

Wiz: *cringes* Ugh... Don’t know what kind of parents would do that… But anywho, after being adopted, it would seem that her life was a happy one for several years!

Boomstick: ...until the strain of money began to affect her parents, emotionally and psychologically. Probably the 2009 recession: it was a pain in the ass to deal with for me...

Wiz: it was for all of us: but it seemed like we reacted and adapted to it just fine. Yuno’s parents… Not so much...

Boomstick: Yeah, Yuno’s father became a workaholic and her mother wanted her to become the ‘perfect citizen’, by leaving her to starve, physically abusing her, mentally abusing her and even locking her up in a cage! Damn, what a bitch!

Wiz: While her father was aware of Yuno’s abuse, he did nothing in respect to alleviate things for Yuno in the slightest.

Boomstick: Fuck her dad, too!

Wiz: Eventually, Yuno, understandably and obviously fed up with this treatment, snapped and managed to imprison her parents in a cage as punishment for her abuse.

Boomstick: Yeah! You go, girl! Show ‘em you deserve some respect!

Wiz: While this retaliation was non-lethal in short term, Yuno’s gradual neglection starved her parents to death. Literally.

Boomstick: Oh, shit. Now she done fucked up.

Wiz: Yuno fell into deep despair and was willing to attach herself to anything that could emotionally support her. This would come to pass when meeting Yukiteru Amano, who jokingly promised her to get married in the future. As a result, it ended up leading to her forming an unhealthy obsession for him.

Boomstick: For hours, days, and even weeks, Yuno stalked Yuki, hoping to grow closer to him, until the two were drafted into a survival game run by the ruler of their universe, the God of Time and Space, Deus Ex Machina. He was dying during this time. So he created this game to determine a successor that would inherit Deus’ title. Honestly sounds like a lot of fun!

Wiz: It is. A total of 12 competitors participate in this event, with each having a ‘Future Diary’: A device that allows them to see the future. Well, different bits of the future. Yuno’s Future Diary, in particular, is a flip-phone that focuses on Yukki’s wellbeing and gives updates every 10 minutes, while Yukki’s is also a flip-phone, but focuses on what he will see.

Boomstick: Woohohoho! I wish I had a Future Diary like Yuno’s Diary for every single one of my wives and waifus, so I can see what they’re up to!

Wiz: With the strengths and weaknesses of Yuno’s and Yukki’s Diaries, they would make the perfect team, and come to being the last survivors of the survival game. Unfortunately, one of them had to die. So, they end up throwing themselves off of a building together and… Yuno survives, but Yukki doesn’t.

Boomstick: Aww! I thought they would pull a Katniss and Peeta and Deus would let them win! Man, life just isn’t fair sometimes...

Wiz: Immediately after becoming the God of Time and Space, Yuno tried to revive Yukki, but failed. As a result, she traveled back in time, killed her past-self and with this turn of events, World 2 was now created. And within the creation of World 2, she took her counterpart’s place in the 2nd World’s survival game to end up being a finalist, again! Though, she was the one who ended up dying this time, leaving Yukki to be the God of Time and Space of World 2.

Boomstick: Aww, come on! Why can’t Yuno catch a break?!

Wiz: She does catch one, though… After altering the events of World 2 even further, World 3 was created, and the Yuno from that World ended up reobtaining her World 1 counterpart’s memories and… break through the fabric of space-time… and reencounter with the love of her life!

Boomstick: And she did all this with little to no sleep mind you, everyone. This chick despite being deprived of sleep has insane precision with knives, aim with weapons, infiltration skills and even is extremely skilled at booby trapping! She ended up outsmarting Akise Aru’s Detective Diary and the police, was able to tell a tomato was rotten by its weight, and even could tell their diaries are real or not just by memorizing the subtle detail of the light their screens reflect!

Wiz: And physically, she’s no pushover whatsoever. At the peak of her strength, she has pretty high endurance, being able to take a kick from a grown man in a wound and still keep going, and even keep on going to kill his opponent after being poisoned and electrocuted by them. She was also able to survive explosions at very close proximity, not quite point blank, but name another character within the universe that can do any of the previously mentioned and also survive a fall from 3 stories with no scratch.

Boomstick: Well, she was able to hurt Akise Aru who survived physical damage inflicted by Deus Ex Machina. Deus Ex Machina with his fist has an energy output of 42,720,446 Joules, or 0.01 Tons of TNT.

Boomstick: And that amount of energy is enough to destroy a…?

Wiz: A room.

Boomstick: Wow. She’s strong

Wiz: And fast, too: she can casually deflect thrown knives at her point-blank, and can move at speeds faster than the eye can keep track which would put her at at least 76 mph.

Boomstick: That’s faster than a Cheetah! Holy crap!

Wiz: that’s not even her most impressive physical feat. Her most impressive physical feat, which by the way she did at her physical Prime, is outrunning TNT explosions: the detonation of a TNT explosion in air happens at a blazing 15,660mph. That’s Mach 20.

Boomstick: Uh… Wiz, what’s Mach?

Wiz: Mach is the unit for the amount of times the speed of sound an object is traveling.

Boomstick: Meaning Yuno’s max speed is 20 times greater than the speed of sound?! Is this girl even human?!

Wiz: Well… By the end of the series, not anymore. She becomes a demigoddess. After winning the survival game, she took Deus’ throne as the Goddess of Time and Space and has inherited all of his powers.

Boomstick: Like Deus, she can void people’s existence, she can create illusions, universe-sized dimensions in the Scope of Dreams, stop time, travel back in time, fly, can... crack the space-time continuum... and most importantly, create universes. How she does it is by going back in time and altering the past events. Instead of a time-paradox and the future changing like in any other series involving time travel, another universe spawns, like with World 2.

Wiz: She's also in possession of Muru Muru's spheres which are used to lock her victims in the pocket dimensions she can create. Mind you, these sphere are the size of small buildings. Her Universes also depends on her existence to exist without being erased. Meaning, if she dies, the universes she reigns over will as well. How this works is that when the God dies, they will leave an 'empty space'. This space will begin being occupied by a void. With this void occupying the space the God left behind, everything will start ceasing to exist. It should be worth mentioning that this 'destruction' of the universe is not something instantaneous: it's eventual.

Boomstick: Wow. This chick doesn’t have the title for nothing.

Wiz: However, she does have certain flaws even in her Goddess form. She can still die to conventional means, her physical stats aren’t amplified in the slightest and she’s still mentally insane. Her Future Diary is also particularly useless if Yukki isn’t there, and-

Boomstick: SHE WON’T SHUT UP ABOUT YUKKI! GODDAMN, SHE’S LOVESICK FOR HIM!

Wiz: But despite these noticeable flaws, her love for Yukki and her own strengths helped her overcome multiple obstacles, and did get her Happy End.

“I'm crazy?! What's crazy is this world that refuses to let me be with you!”

Kaede (Elfen Lied)

(*Cues Lilium - Elfen Lied Opening theme*)

Wiz: Now, let’s move on to the District of Kamakura, Japan. In the year 199X, a child with horns was born to a seemingly poor family. This child would be the Queen of a new, superior race of humans, the Diclonii- beings with pseudo-telekinetic powers, superior physical capabilites and-

Boomstick: And cat ears! How cute!

Wiz: … They’re horns, Boomstick.

Boomstick: I don’t care! They still look cute!

Wiz: … Anyways. Sometime just after being born, she was abandoned in the middle of a forest by her father to seemingly die?

Boomstick: And yet again, one asshole parent does a despicable act; where the hell was her mother in this sequence of events!? Did she approve or did she simply do nothing about it!?

Wiz: She did not approve of said action. In fact, after her husband abandoned the child, she frantically went looking for her. Unfortunately, the orphanage had taken in the child and the mother couldn’t find her.

Boomstick: Aww, shit. Unlucky…

Wiz:. Anywho, after being taken in to an orphanage, the horned child was given, what we can assume is her real name, Kaede.

Boomstick: It’s Kanji for ‘Maple’ for those who don’t know Japanese.

Wiz: During her stay in the orphanage, she was bullied and discriminated just for having horns, being called ‘Ox’ at every turn, and she was neglected by the grown-ups who were supposed to take care of her. Fortunately for her, she befriended a puppy after feeding it her dinner, and a girl from the orphanage after she scared off the bullies.

Boomstick: But because misfortune runs in Kaede’s family, her friendship with both of these didn’t last long: once Kaede told the girl about the dog, the bullies took the dog and killed it RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER OWN EYES. It turns out, the girl she trusted snaked on Kaede and told the bullies about it! Never trust anyone in an orphanage, everyone!

Wiz: And this series of events were the catalyst to her rampant hatred for humanity, and for the first time in her life, she used her trademark pseudo-telekinetic weapons, the Vectors. These are invisible ‘telekinetic’ arms with a base range of 2 meters, and with a base quantity of 14. They are controlled by Kaede’s overgrown pineal gland, a part of a human and Diclonius’ brain. And, just to clear a common misconception, they do NOT come out of her back. That’s only in the Anime.

Boomstick: They can be used for many different purposes depending on the frequency the user vibrates them at: at their lowest frequency, they’re completely intangible and can be used to phase through objects, useful for interacting with objects in a room next to you or, in Kaede’s case, to pull on the blood vessels of her victims. At a frequency a step higher than the lowest one, they now become tangible and can be used to grab object, throw them, punch people, and be used to levitate and even fly! One more step up in frequency and now they become blades that can be used to cut and slice things, like mobs of people!

Wiz: However, the destructive capabilities of the vectors at these frequencies pales to when they’re at their maximum frequency. At these frequencies, they vibrate so fast that they become visible to the human eye and can cause EXPLOSIONS. We will talk about the specifics later, though.

Boomstick: and with these insanely overpowered Vectors, she slaughtered the bullies with no mercy. Shortly after, she befriended a human called Kouta. The more she hanged around with him, the more lovestruck she started to appear for the young boy as he was the only nice person she met.

Wiz: However, after a betrayal, she ended up scarring Kouta for life by killing his family in front of him.

Boomstick: Yeah, and then they proceeded to cud- Wait, what?!

Wiz: For years before her capture at the hands of the Diclonius Research Institute, she lived the life of a nomad: no permanent house and jumping from house to house killing the inhabitants of said homes, while following her natural instinct as a Diclonius to drive humanity closer to extinction.

Boomstick: She ended up befriending another human, but suffered a terrible fate. In that same day, she was captured, isolated and ‘experimented’ on for at least 3 years. It was in this lab that she got her lab name and trademark name, Lucy. Man, this must be the worst day of Lucy’s life...

Wiz: Alhough, for the sake of consistency, we will still call her Kaede. Anyways, after 3 arduous years of being experimented on, she escaped the laboratory, but not without a concussion. Said concussion led her to develop another personality later to be referred to as Nyuu.

Boomstick: Yeah. Kaede has a total of 3 personalities: her original one which is more reserved, apathetic and depressed; her instinctive DNA Voice which is her Diclonius instinct embodied as an independent personality which is naturally very bloodlusted and is bent in accomplishing its goal; and Nyuu, the innocent and caring persona which Kaede used to live her days with the love of her life, Kouta, and his friends.

Wiz: Though… This didn’t last for long, as the DRI was constantly trying to find her and take her back to the lab, resorting to extreme brutality, espionage and invasion. In the process, Kouta remembered what happened between him and Kaede, and she ended up being re-captured and taken back to the lab!

Boomstick: Goddamn. Just how much more unlucky does she get?

Wiz: During her stay in the lab, it was revealed that Kaede had a more important role in this plot and that she was going to suffer a similar fate to that of her biological mother: being used to bear a child for Chief Kakuzawa to ensure humanity’s extinction and the rise of the Diclonii.

Boomstick: Unsurprisingly, she did not approve of this plan, ended up killing him and even sank the DRI island with 1 explosion induced by her vectors at the extreme frequency 2 kilometers deep under sea level! Woo, this chick’s badass!

Wiz: Time for the specifics: it was said that in this explosion, an outbreak of neutrons was confirmed. And with this information, the type of energy that Kaede’s explosions emit was compared to that of nuclear fusion, a process that occurs in the Sun and in nukes.

Boomstick: This means her explosives reach the temperatures of that in the Sun and nukes, which is an astounding 100 Million degrees Celsius! Meaning that anything that gets caught in her explosions gets vaporized! Not only that, but they also pack a colossal amount of power! To just drill the 2 kilometers, she needed to have exerted at least 74,000 tons of TNT! And considering she caused a +30 tsunami as well, the value would be much higher!

Wiz: After sinking the island, she encountered Kouta again at a seashore and, despite hating her for scarring him for life, let her come back with him. Until he was shot and Kaede lost her shit again. This time, she would threaten the entire country of Japan and the Navy, Air Force, and the Army were all sent to stop Kaede, while she healed Kouta’s mortal wounds after figuring out how without having no advice from anyone.

Boomstick: At this point, she no longer messes around as she was able to block an SM-3 Missile from blowing them to smithereens! These missiles travel at Mach 10-15 depending on the specific model. That's 10-15 times the speed of sound! She would need comparable reactions to block it while healing Kouta and wile coming into her field of view! But even then, she survived a nasty C4 explosion point-blank, and got ram through a bunch of metallic pillars! Holy shit! She’s overpowered!

Wiz: You want overpowered? By the time she finishes healing Kouta, the DNA Voice ended up threatening the entire world with vectors that can reach into outer space and can be properly physically seen from outer space while being a puddle of flesh! Though, this is when she hits her limit.

Boomstick: Speaking of limits, let’s now talk about Kaede’s weaknesses: she’s mentally unstable as a result of her past and sharing a body with 2 independent personalities. She also doesn’t scale to her vectors at their strongest. Her horns and pineal gland, when broken/struck, prohibit her from using her vectors.

Wiz: In fact, if both horns are broken, Kaede can be put comatose, or worst case scenario, can kill her. Though, she did end up surviving this 2 times. She is also prone to not being able to use her vectors if she’s under too much pain. Though, with her willpower, she can power through the pain for a significant and prolonged amount of time. And her most lethal weakness is that if she overuses her powers for too long, she melts due to the entropy in her body increasing over time.

Boomstick: But despite these weaknesses, she’s still one of the most badass anime chicks!

Wiz: And more importantly, she redeemed herself by saving Kouta’s life, even if it was at the expense of her life.

“When you're miserable, you need something that is even more miserable than you to feel good about yourself.”

Intermission

(*Cues Wiz & Boomstick - Death Battle Theme*)

Wiz: Alright. The combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all.

Boomstick: It’s time for a Death Battle!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PRE-DEATH BATTLE!

(Song: Space Junk Road - Super Mario Galaxy)

Yuno and Yukiteru were in the middle of finishing the creation of another 7 additional universes after finishing the first 4 ones after the epilogue of Redial. They looked very tired and drained. Creating a universe is one thing. But shaping it the exact way that they wanted it was something else. It was a grueling task.

Immediately, after finishing, another 7 Muru-Murus spawned and started fooling around with the other 4. Meanwhile, Yukiteru and Yuno sat back and watched the Muru-Murus mess about as they cuddled.

“Yukki...”

“Yes?”

“I’m tired...”

“Sleep on my legs, Yuno.”

Yuno immediately lied face-up to the ceiling of the Scope of Dreams that they lived in and stared at Yukiteru with a moony smile. But before she could close her eyes, she wanted something that would make her relax completely and rest easy...

“Yukki... Can you-“

Yukiteru immediately bent down to give her a long and sweet tender kiss. He had read her mind. Yuno in response gave the same moony smile, but this time she was blushing. And she exhaled in relaxation.

“Thank you... Yukki...”

Then, he gently stroke her head and said:

“Rest easy, Yuno. I love you.”

“I love you, too..... Yukki...... Zzz...”

She fell fast asleep. Yukiteru stared at her smiling as she gently snored and caught a big breath of relaxation. He then spent the rest of the time staring at the 11 Muru-Murus fooling around.

(Music stops)

30 minutes have passed since then, and all the Muru-Murus have fallen asleep, with Yukiteru being the last one being awake. He looked around one last time, reflecting on his experiences with Yuno: since the day that they locked lips for the first time in that elevator to today. It must all be so gratifying to be truly happy for Yukiteru.

“...I can’t believe it’s been 10,000 years since we first met. Ever since she came back, it felt like our adventure had begun yesterday. Yuno… You’re wonderful. Despite the terrible actions you did, I now completely understand your great intentions. You always had great intentions for me. And to me, that’s all that matters…”

He then gave Yuno a last glance, stroked her hair once again and said quietly.

“Never change.”

He yawned and decided that now he would hit the hay. However, just as he was getting ready to spoon Yuno, he immediately felt incredibly uneasy. He felt something really strange: a strange aura. Far away, deep into the Scope of Dreams. Carefully, he got up to follow this source of strange energy, picking up his Future Diary in the process.

He followed it, until he was considerably far away from Yuno and the other Muru-Murus who were all fast asleep. It was what must’ve been 2 minutes of walking until he found the source of the strange energy: another universe. Yukiteru didn’t exactly know how to react: he counted the amount of Muru-Murus that had spawned in his head. Each Universe should spawn 1 Muru-Muru. And with this universe, there were 12 universes. But Yukiteru only counted 11 Muru-Murus. Something was wrong. The universe was deteriorating, almost as if it’s God had died for unknown reasons. He could also tell that he had no control over its causality, because he knew nothing about this new universe. However, he could always enter and leave the universe whenever he wanted.

“...What the hell happened here? Something tells me I shouldn’t go in, but my curiosity is killing me now. I’ll check it out for 5 minutes. If I find anything dangerous, I’ll have to wake Yuno up.”

With that in mind, he entered the universe and spawned on a deserted beach. The place looked desolate: huts were completely destroyed, post lights were either malfunctioning or missing, some of the tiles in the wall were missing, and the stairs and sand were coated in... blood...

This shocked Yukiteru so much that his breathing became heavy. He walked up the stairs, nearly slipping halfway. Nervously, he looked around to see the desolate city of Enoshima: businesses had their windows broken, cars crashed completely into said businesses, bushes, themselves and other street hazards. He walked along the broken asphalt and just saw ruin, chaos, carnage, desolation and complete disorder. A cold and soft wind blew and gave him the jitters. It must’ve been Fall due to the trees not having the leaves they would usually have. With every step he took, the more uneasy he felt. He then stopped briefly to check on his Future Diary.

9 minutes have passed since the last entry:

“What is this unnerving feeling I’m getting? I had a grand time just now, but now I feel like... something catastrophic might happen… I should probably go back to inform Yuno about this…”

So he waited just under a minute for the new entry, to be treated to a ghastly revelation.

“I just got split in half by a girl with pink hair wearing a pink and black dress, stripped socks, red high heels and... fake cat ears...? She didn’t even move a finger... How in the world... did she do that... Yuno... I’m so sorry D’x”

     - ‘DEAD END’

His heavy breathing transitioned to gasping and whimpering. As he saw the ‘DEAD END’ flag in his Future Diary, he felt a presence right behind him. He started shaking very hard that it was very noticeable. He slowly and unnervingly turned his head to see what was behind him:

It was her. The girl that his Future Diary described. Though one detail that the Future Diary got wrong was that they weren’t fake cat ears: they were horns. But it was her: the girl responsible for bringing Yukiteru his ‘Dead End’. It was the Queen Diclonius, and her name was Kaede.

Yukiteru took a step back, completely turning his whole body around. But he did so in a way that almost made him fall to the floor. He gasped loudly as he was about to let out a scream. But just as he was letting out the scream, his upper body was separated from his lower body, as Kaede’s vectors in their high frequency sliced his body. The scream was now completely muted by not only the overwhelming shock that he felt, but the excruciating pain.

As his upper torso fell to the ground, the girl stood up on top of him to get a better glimpse of him and stared at him.

“... What... are you...” Yukiteru said with a face drenched in horror and pain, with his eyes wide.

“Your despair...” Kaede said unfazed. But her serious expression turned into one of extreme confusion.

“Wait a minute... Didn’t I kill this kid before?” She thought to herself when she looked closely at Yukiteru’s face and realized that it was extremely familiar. She had apparently killed him before. Could it be that there was another Yukiteru in said universe? What was going on? To Kaede’s shock, he reminded her of a certain someone and started reminding her of her past.

Yukiteru’s breathing then started slowing down, but he forced himself to control his breathing and tried to crawl away. She didn’t even chase him as she put her hands to her head. And she said in a cracked tone, almost as if she were about to start crying.

“Kouta...”

(Song: Corpse Party - Chapter 4 Intro Theme)

A loud scream of pure rage and despair burst from the air as the horned girl immediately snapped out of it and jumped up in surprise.

“YUKIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!”

The pink-haired Demi goddess emerged from behind sprinting at fast speeds. She had received warnings about Yukiteru’s wellbeing by her Future Diary. And as a result, followed him into the strange universe with a full inventory in hand: AK-47, Five-Seven, some throwing knives, a Kira a, a flash-bang, tear gas and a Magnum revolver loaded with Tungsten bullets.

The young Diclonius reacted immediately by getting out of the way as Yuno tried to decapitate her with her axe. As Kaede dodged every swing of her axe accordingly, she then tripped on a vertically displaced piece of asphalt and fell on her back. The furious Yandere, releasing a rage-filled battle cry, jumped up to chop Kaede’s head in half. But the young Diclonius caught Yuno and threw her away from herself with her vectors. Yuno landed right next to Yukiteru.

“Yu...no... Leave now...”

Yuno, who started to cry at the sight of his loved one, picked him up and sobbed:

“YUKKI!! YUKKI!! NO!! DON’T DIE, PLEASE!!”

“I’m... sorry... for this...” Yukiteru cried as he gave his final breath and the life in his eyes slipped away.

“YUUUUKKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!” Sobbed the demigoddess, clutching Yukiteru’s body as hard as she possibly could.

Kaede looked both shocked and extremely confused.

“And her too?! I killed the two of them in their sleep a long time ago! Yet here they are in front of me acting like what I did to them never happened! What the hell is going on?!” She thought to herself. This was all new to the young Diclonius, who was certain that they should’ve been dead. But here they were alive and well. Well, semi-well.

“Ugh, whatever... she should be just as easy to kill: she should be just a human after all, and I’ve killed everyone in this putrid world. So, not that it matters, I guess. But...” Her face started to appear blue with sadness as she came to a realization.

“Now she knows how I felt when I... No... I can't... Remember that... ” Kaede covered her face with her hands as memories of Kouta's lifeless body, the Maple Inn being destroyed and the other inhabitants, Nana, Yuka, Nozomi, and Mayu screaming in horror and despair, flashed in her mind. She immediately fell on her knees and lowered her head and let out a short and brief scream. She was now whimpering and crying, but also, was slipping away.

"Kouta… Everyone… I..." Were Kaede's last words before...

(Music stops)

"Nyuu?" Kaede's innocent persona, Nyuu, has emerged as the original persona subdued into her unconscious, and the timing couldn’t be any worse. Nyuu looked around innocently until she was met by the ghastly sight of Yuno holding Yukki who was torn in half.

"AAAHH! Oh, my gosh! W-what happened here?!" Nyuu cried in shock and panic.

Yuno turned to Nyuu with a forced glare, drenched in her own tears as the sorrow and pain were being too much for her to handle. Yuno had lost the thing that kept her sane and motivated her to live on. And now Yukiteru’s killer, who was not only drenched in his blood but also standing in front of her, was starting to act like an airhead oblivious to the evil action she had just committed.

“Th-that was my other me that did it! It wasn’t me! I haven’t been in control for the longest time! I’m not a bad person, and I don’t want to fight! Please, listen to me!” Nyuu cried at Yuno as she realized what Kaede had done and the situation she got her into.

“...” Yuno turned back down and her eyes could no longer be seen, as her hair was blocking them. She then clenched her hands to fists and grinded her teeth as her body started shaking. The rage was now becoming too much to bare, and she felt like she would lose her mind if she didn’t snap.

Nyuu started to shake in fear. She could very well feel the hatred Yuno now had for her, and she clearly did not want to be stuck in this situation. She wanted Kaede to take over to handle this, but she knew that wasn’t possible at the moment. She was on her own until further notice.

“YOU BITCH! YOU KILL THE LOVE OF MY LIFE AND NOW TRY TO WASH YOUR HANDS SAYING SOME RANDOM BULLSHIT?! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!” Yuno yelled with scornful rage.

“I-I-It’s not bullshit! I-I mean it!” She then saw Yuno pick up her axe and stand up, gently dropping Yukki’s body on the floor. “Ah… N-no… P-please put that down! P-Please, I don’t want to fight…!” The fear started to become too much for Nyuu as she started to whimper and shed tears.

“I’LL KILL YOU FOR THIS! YOU HEAR ME?! I’LL KILL YOU!!!” Yuno charged at her. There was no bailing out of this one for Nyuu. She had to fight. There was no other choice.

Nyuu yelped as the furious Yandere charged at her. Nyuu had to fight, but her innocence, gentleness, kindness and fear told her otherwise: she simply rejected the idea of fighting back. What she wanted was to talk herself out of this, but Yuno wasn’t going to have any of that. Her extreme, but momentary, rage made her immune to reason. Nyuu MUST fight, but she doesn’t WANT to.

This became a hopeless situation and a dilemma for the young and semi-innocent Diclonius.

DEATH BATTLE!

Yuno swung her axe again when in range, but just like before with Kaede, Nyuu dodged it with no problem. But due to her naïveté, she moved away awkwardly and exaggeratedly. Yuno was still in range, and due to the adrenaline coursing through her, she took another swing to hit the horned girl- only for her to dodge it the exact same way as last time. This sequence of events repeated several times until Yuno started getting even more angry.

“STOP COWARDLY JUMPING AROUND AND LET ME HIT YOU!”

“No! Stop this and let’s talk this out! Please!”

“FUCK YOU, MURDERER!”

Nyuu whimpered as the string of words stung her like a hornet. If there was one thing she didn’t like being called was a “murderer”. The furious Yandere kept swinging persistently, while the scared Diclonius kept dodging until Yuno struck the floor and broke the fabric of reality. Nyuu jumped out of the way and fell on the asphalt and got grazed all over her knees, but she didn’t feel it initially as she was left in shock by Yuno’s ‘strength’.

“Ah...a-a-ah…!” Nyuu turned around and tried to crawl away from Yuno as she approached with a feral expression. Yuno had completely lost her mind due to the death of Yukiteru, the one thing she clung to to maintain her sanity. She proceeded to jump at Nyuu and try to kill her then and there:

“I GOT YOU NOW! SAY GOODBYE!”

“AAAAAHHH!!” Nyuu screamed as she covered her head with her arms hopelessly. But little she knew... She whimpered as she slowly lowered her arms and saw that Yuno had disappeared. She stopped whimpering, immediately sat up and looked around everywhere and saw two things: she first saw her invisible vectors (12 were lying on the floor limp, while 2 were active and floating in the air next to her).

“Huh? … Are these… what my 'other me' uses?” She then tried to move them with her mind: she rotated them and clenched the hands the vectors had into fists. She then tried to touch the floor with the vectors and then punched them into each other. And Nyuu came to the realization:

“I… I can use them…” Nyuu pondered to herself. Then flashbacks of her using them against Anna flashed in her mind. With these images, she put one hand to her forehead and pondered deeply “Was I really always capable of using them? Agh, I can’t remember…”

She then saw Yuno knocked down a few meters away from her, and noticed that blood was dripping from Yuno’s nose when she sat up. Yuno’s face expressed 1 strong emotion, and it wasn’t anger or hatred: it was confusion. It seemed like Nyuu unleashing her vectors on Yuno had knocked the unfathomable rage out of her.

“...What just happened? I got hit away, but I swear I didn’t see her move her legs or arms at all! ...Unless it was just me seeing things in my anger.” Yuno pondered to herself. She figured the only way to find out was to try attacking again. However, she dropped her axe and switched to her katana.

“The katana not only has more range, but it should allow me to attack her faster and it takes less effort to swing. I need to attack faster considering she is barely dodging my attacks, and that she knows that I can break a bit of space-time so she’ll be on her toes. I also need to clear that doubt of with how she attacks.”

Yuno this time let out a battle cry and charged at Nyuu again. But this time Yuno had more calm but determined and sharp eyes, showing that her head was back in the game, while Nyuu had obtained a confidence boost from now being able to use her vectors. Or perhaps… she knew all along but just forgot how to...

As Yuno swung her katana at Nyuu, Nyuu noticed that she started to swing faster, and was forced to retaliate as Yuno kept swinging: Nyuu commanded one of her vectors to catch the katana from its blade. Yuno, who was looking carefully at her opponent and how she would respond, was now shocked: her blade was caught by what would seem as an invisible force as Nyuu still had her hands clasped together to her chest, and was breathing heavily from dodging her attacks.

“...!? What the-“ Yuno said but was interrupted as Nyuu quickly thrusted her hand forward to ‘command’ the vector to punch Yuno right in the nose again. A loud crackling noise could be heard and blood flew in the air. Yuno was knocked 3 meters back and she let out a groan as she flew back.

“Argh… My nose…” Yuno groaned to herself as more blood started to come out of her nose. She tried breathing through the nose subconsciously, but couldn’t: the blow not only worsened the bleeding, but it also broke the cartilage completely- making it near impossible to breath through the nose. As a result, Yuno coughed profusely and was forced to breathe through the mouth.

Nyuu noticed this and decided to approach Yuno to reason with her. “Hey… I-I’m sorry about your nose, but I really think we should stop this and talk it out… You’ll make things worse for yourself if you keep this up.”

This, at first, left Yuno dumbfounded: all the things she had said earlier, her extremely vicious attempts at killing her, her hands being tainted in blood and yet she still wants to reason? For all Yuno knew, she was either astonishingly naive or extremely dumb. It didn’t matter to her which of the two Nyuu was because she saw something that caught her attention: an opportunity.

“She’s so naive: she keeps lowering her guard for the sake of talking! Maybe if I play her game for a bit I can find the opening to kill her…” Yuno thought to herself as she looked at Nyuu’s extended hand. Her eyes then brightened as she realized exactly what to do.

“...A-and… How do I know you won’t kill me like you did with my Yukki?” Yuno asked sharply and cynically.

“T-That was my other me that killed your Yukki. I... I can explain.” Nyuu responded immediately.

As the Diclonius went on to explain what she meant by her ‘other self’, Yuno slowly and carefully pulled out one of her throwing knives and put the knife by her hip completely covering it with her right hand. Shortly after she was finished talking, Nyuu stretched her hand out to her again to help the wounded Goddess up without realizing that she had given Yuno the opening she was looking for.

Yuno, while making eye contact with Nyuu, took her hand. The horned girl tried to pull her up, but Yuno instantly pulled down on her hand to trap her and swiftly stabbed her in the forearm with the hidden knife.

“NYAAAAAAH!!” Nyuu screamed her catchphrase in extreme pain and tried to get away, but Yuno pulled her down towards her. Yuno took a stab at Nyuu’s abdomen as she fell towards her. However, the knife wasn’t long enough to hit any organs or blood vessels of the Diclonius.

Yuno wrestled her to the ground and held her by the neck with one hand. She tried to take a stab to the neck where even a shallow knife stab would kill someone. But as she swiftly tried to stab the wounded Nyuu, she was stopped yet again by that same invisible force. However, she noticed that while the force was just as strong, Nyuu seemed to be struggling into putting the force she was applying by the vectors.

“Pain… Is her weakness pain…? Let’s try exploiting that...” Yuno pondered. With her left hand to the wounded Diclonius’ neck, she slammed her head to the ground to inflict more pain to make it harder for Nyuu to administer her vectors. But to her dismay, said action had completely backfired on her.

Shortly after slamming her head against the ground, the force on her arm grew much stronger and her arm was being pushed back. Yuno was also greeted with Nyuu’s glare. Nyuu was struggling still, but her grunts contained rage, instead of anguish. She tried to spare her opponent to clear the air the easy way, but it seemed that her opponent wasn’t having any of it and was looking to settle things the hard way. That, in combination of being deceived and hurt by her opponent whom she was trying to reason with, got her blood boiling.

“UUAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!” Nyuu let out a bloodcurdling scream of rage, which made Yuno jump and yelp. Yuno tried to get up and get away, but was punched in the nose again, but harder than the 2 previous times. This caused Yuno to let out a cry of pain as she was sent flying 5 meters away from Nyuu into a light post.

Yuno struggled to get up as the pain was becoming overwhelming, but she quickly became knocked down by Nyuu who had rushed her down and hit her with her vectors. The enraged Diclonius overwhelmed the defenseless Human, with the vectors aiming for the head and the stomach. Then, she ended with a strong punch to the gut, followed by a grab to the neck and threw her out into the beach. Nyuu ran in pursuit.

When she crashed, Yuno’s arsenal scattered all over the beach: her grenades flew by some rocks close to a wooden hut, and her AK-47 and revolver flew in the opposite direction close to some garbage cans and rubble. But she had face planted into the sand, so she couldn’t see where it all went.

Yuno looked behind her to see Nyuu with a glare walking down the stairs that connect the beach to the street. It appeared as the wounds inflicted didn’t faze her in the slightest. But her heavy breathing implied that this was all due to adrenaline.

All this caused the desperate Yandere to fall in a brief and minor state of panic as she panted and frantically looked around for her equipment. She looked around until she saw her Five-Seven 4 meters ahead of her. In a frenzy, she crawled towards the gun to pick it up and aimed her gun at the horned girl who was menacingly approaching her. However, Nyuu seemed to keep on going. Despite this relentless stance, the adrenaline in her body was now running out and not only did she start feeling the pain of the wounds inflicted, but her vision started blurring. This blurriness didn’t allow her to see that the wounded Yandere was aiming a gun at her.

Yuno without a second thought…

BAM

Nyuu hearing the loud gunshot flinched. Despite the fatigue building up in Nyuu, she felt a pinch, followed by a burning sensation on her left breast. However, from Nyuu’s perspective, her vision only became even blurrier and turning dark. She was now losing consciousness…

...As Kaede emerged once again and stopped the bullet just before it hit her heart. A huge amount of sand scattered in a boom as the young Diclonius stood tall but with her head down.

“... That was close. Had I been a moment too late, I would’ve been history.” was the first thing Kaede said as she was now fully in control and removed the bullet from her breast. However, as soon as she got full control, she felt a sharp pain coming from her left arm and abdomen, and briefly fell to her knees. She saw the two stab wounds in her body and swiftly summoned her vectors to heal her wounds.

Yuno, once again dumbfounded by the young Diclonius’ capabilities, stood still and watched her while thinking to herself, “Did she just… block the bullet?! What the hell is she?!” This was the first time she had ever witnessed someone actually blocking a bullet. For all she knew, Kaede was out of this world.

However, the wounded Yandere proceeded to empty the whole mag of bullets at Kaede after she realized that the Queen Diclonius had yet again ‘dropper her guard’. To her surprise, all her bullets were being blocked by the invisible force she exerted control over. But unlike the previous times, Kaede didn’t even flinch in the slightest.

“Rrrrrrrrrg...” Yuno was now getting frustrated. It seemed to be getting harder and harder to hurt the Queen Diclonius. But little did she know just how much more powerful Kaede was.

After Kaede had finished patching up her wounds, she stood up as she saw Yuno reloading her gun. The Queen Diclonius’ eyes widen as she sees the conditions the demigoddess was left in with her destroyed nose and her bruised up body.

“...Was all that my other me???” Kaede asked Yuno almost incredulously. Shortly after a brief moment of gaze exchanges, the young Diclonius grinned widely and started chuckling. She did not expect her other self to do that much damage to Yuno. It was like this was all a joke to her.

Yuno angrily fired her weapon again while aiming for the head. Kaede dropped her grin immediately to a poker face as she effortlessly blocked every bullet completely unfazed.

“... What’s your problem, little girl? Can’t let me have a laugh?” Kaede said with sass. Her poker face met with Yuno’s glare and continued speaking: “I guess I’ll just torture you, and then kill you slowly and painfully.” She started walking towards Yuno again, as Yuno bolted up and started running away, with the Queen Diclonius running in pursuit. Yuno tried to look for one of her weapons while she was running and spotted her AK-47 close to nearby rubble and garbage.

Little did the pink-haired Yandere know when she got her AK that she briefly outran the horned Yangire, and when she turned around, she found it pleasantly surprising that there was a considerable distance between them. She fired away with her AK. Kaede, just like last time, used her vectors to block every single one of her bullets, but slowly inched her way forward. As Yuno ran out of ammo, she swiftly started reloading the weapon, but Kaede lunged at her and tried to slice her with her vectors. Yuno, however, dodged just in time despite not being able to see them. But something puzzled Yuno.

“She’s always getting up close… and I felt air disturbances from when she was farther than usual... Does it mean that this force that she exerts has range?”

She picked up her revolver with the Tungsten bullets, put it to her side and started running away with the reloaded AK and revolver, with Kaede, this time not only chasing her, but throwing objects her way. Yuno then ran while dodging, to take cover behind a nearby large boulder with stones close to the floor. The pink-haired Yandere started to creatively use them to determine her range by throwing them at the horned Yangire and looking at the distance the pieces of the rock dropped at.

“Looks like… 2 meters? ...Okay. As long as I’m not less than around 2 meters away from her, I should be fine.” Yuno thought to herself, but not long before the boulder started floating in mid-air. Yuno hugged on to the boulder and was carried up into the air with it. Kaede, dumbfounded that she was nowhere to be found looked around, until she saw the pink-haired Yandere jump from the top of the boulder back on to the street.

The horned Yangire dropped the boulder and followed along, and as soon as she landed, she was greeted with a barrage of bullets from Yuno’s AK. But just like the previous times, she blocked them effortlessly. To the Queen’s surprise though, the demigoddess didn’t just run away, but she danced around her just beyond her reach while jumping onto cars and other platforms, while strafing away from her, and dodging every object she threw at her, all this while shooting her with her AK in bursts to conserve ammunition. It would seem like the battle would be of attrition. But there was no progress being made from both ends, and while Yuno had better stamina, Kaede didn’t seem to be putting much effort into this struggle.

“Grr… I just can’t break through her 'force field'!” Yuno muttered to herself. “I need to make her lower her guard… Mind games won’t work…”

! Then, she suddenly remembered the grenades she had brought along with her. “Where are they? I need them.” She then suddenly started running away again like before but on the way to the stairs to the beach.

“Hhh.. Just for how long do you intend to keep this up, little rat? I don't have all day for this...” Kaede muttered to herself in annoyance as she chased the cheeky Yandere. “You can’t run away from me forever!” The annoyed Yangire called out to her.

“Who said it would be forever?” Yuno scoffed back as she was running away from her while shooting her AK. But then, she jumped over the fence back onto the beach. Kaede followed her down. But once down, she then noticed that she was nowhere to be found.

“...Where did she go?” Kaede thought to herself as she looked around and walked about slowly and cautiously. Yuno was hidden behind a stack of garbage bags that were tucked in a corner close to the stairs. She kept peeking until Kaede was away from her so that she could sneak past her.

She also took this opportunity to see where her grenades were and caught a glimpse of a bunch of canisters scattered on the floor with rocks next to a hut. She noticed that one of these small canisters had pins on them and decided to sneak around Kaede’s perception. However, on the way, she ended up stepping bad and made a very faint noise, but that noise was enough for Kaede’s enhances senses to pick it up.

The horned Yangire turned around in the direction of the noise and barely saw the shadow of a figure hiding inside the hut just under a table inside it. She suspected it was Yuno and struck down at the table to reveal nothing yet again.

“...” Kaede groaned and decided to look deeper.

Meanwhile, Yuno sneaked out of the hut and found the grenades close to the rocks that lied right next to them. However, she didn’t really think deeply of what to do with them. But she still felt reassured having the grenades in her possession. The AK was now out of ammunition, so it was all down to her improvising with her Revolver with Tungsten bullets and her grenades.

Yuno aimed her gun in the air and pulled back on the hammer of the revolver.

CLICK

The click was loud. But what she didn’t expect is the click to catch Kaede’s attention so easily, as the horned Yangire emerged from the darkness of the hut and looked around sharply. Yuno immediately hid behind the biggest rock of the bunch, nearly getting caught by the horned Yangire. The tenacious Yandere knew that she had caught her attention. She closed her eyes as she heard footsteps from behind the rock become stronger. When she felt the time was right, she pulled the pin on her flashbang and immediately tossed it into the air right above her. She swiftly covered her ears and looked down at the ground.

Kaede saw something emerge from the rock that she was approaching at high speeds flying up into the air. This made her take a step back to examine what the object was exactly. It took her a few seconds of focused staring that she realized that it was a flashbang. The moment she realized that…

BANG

The flashbang went off in her face, blinding her and briefly discombobulating her. She groaned as the flashbang completely blinded and nearly toppled to the floor. Yuno swiftly then peaked out of the rock and pulled the pin on her second grenade: a tear gas grenade. The gas immediately came out and some of it caught up on Yuno’s face, but she forced herself to throw it with extreme precision just under the horned Yangire’s face anyway.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGHH!!! *&@#$%!!!!” Kaede let out a scream of excruciating agony as the gas completely engulfed her, irritating her eyes, nose, mouth, throat and skin. She shorly fell to the floor coughing and gasping as her diaphragm was convulsing from the extreme irritation her respiratory system was suffering, followed by more groaning and screaming.

Yuno immediately ran around the smoke to get an angle on her to shoot, and when she found the perfect position, she aimed at the struggling Diclonius. But the metallic sounds of the revolver and the click, in combination of the unbearable agony and an overpowering sense of panic, caused Kaede to violently and desperately swing her vectors around her while still screaming in pain and panic. She made sure to cover her head with her hands and concentrated the vectors, swinging them faster and faster and faster.

Something Yuno noticed as Kaede dispersed the gas with her vector frenzy was that the force that she was up against wasn’t a force field: it was something that looked like invisible hands. With this, she waited until the shot was aligned with a gap. And when it aligned...

BAM

She fired the gun aiming for her head. However, one of the vectors hit the bullet and due to the bullet’s nature, they were redirected onto the right side of Kaede’s waist, causing her to briefly yelp and snap out of her panic. She frantically rubbed her face to remove the substance while groaning and trying her hardest to get up. But then the sharp pain of the bullet wound kicked in and she fell to the floor again. Fortunately for Kaede, her eyes were mostly closed, so it was relatively easy to rub off the chemical from her eyes. After frantically rubbing her eyes, she heard a gun shooting again. But because it was coming from the direction she was facing, she was able to react.

?!

As Kaede swiftly tried to deflect the bullet, she noticed the vector was being pushed back by the bullet and couldn’t deflect it effectively. It ended up grazing her in her left cheek. She suddenly had a flashback.

“Are these… the bullets that bastard Bando used against me?!” Kaede thought to herself in frustration. “This bitch’s more clever than him...!” She forced herself to stand up as Yuno was pulling the hammer again to fire her weapon again realizing just how vulnerable the cumulative damage dealt to the horned Yangire left her.

BAM

This time, Kaede successfully deflected the bullet, but was hard pressed.

And again.

BAM

And again. But this time, the pain and temporary fatigue made it difficult to concentrate.

BAM

Kaede failed to completely deflect the bullet away from her this time, as the bullet hit her in her left leg. This caused her to fall to the floor in pain with her face heading up. Yuno took this opportunity to step on the defenseless Diclonius’ chest and aim right at her head with the intention to finish off her opponent. However, as she pulled the trigger…

CLICK CLICK

“?! But I only fired 5! Did I misfire one without realizing?! N-no… I don’t recall missing…!” Yuno thought to herself as she shifted the barrel to inspect it, only to see the whole barrel clean. “I… Impossible! I..” Yuno exclaimed, as Kaede looked up to give her a glare.

“Looking for this?” Kaede then showed her the bullet that was missing from her gun with one of her vectors. “I can do little sneaky tricks too, you know?” She continued as her glare turned into a sly grin.

“How did you-” Before she could finish her sentence, Kaede jammed the bullet with a lot of force into her terribly wounded nose. Yuno shrieked as the pain shot through her entire head, with every heartbeat making the pain worse. She fell to the floor again due to the force, as the reopened wound bled out of control. Kaede in a hurry tried to get up to try to finish off Yuno but ended up falling on her right knee due to exerting her weight on her wounded left knee.

“Shit…! Goddammit!” Kaede thought to herself as she impatiently started healing her wounded knee with her vectors. “I have to finish her off now. She’s too clever and persistent!” The demigoddess tried to get up but fell to the floor again due to disorientation, and things seemingly got worse as the Queen Diclonius had completely patched up her wounds again and walked up to her to finish her off. Until…

“Yuno!!!” Multiple voices bursted from the exact same direction. Kaede swiftly turned around to see 5 Muru-Muru’s flying towards her to tackle her down. She tried to summon her vectors in time but failed due to momentary mental fatigue, and as a result she got tackled down. One of the Muru-Muru’s stabbed the downed Yangire in the back, while 4 other ones were holding her down. 6 other ones surrounded their wounded master and took her away from Kaede and the other 4 to patch up her wounds.

“Are you okay?” “You had us worried!” “It’s going to be okay!” “We’re here for you!” Were amongst the many things the many Muru-Muru’s said as she was dragged away. A flash of panic flashed across Yuno’s face as she saw the other Muru-Muru’s ignorantly pinning her down, completely oblivious to Kaede’s powers.

“NO! GET AWAY FROM HER! SHE’S DANGEROUS!” The demigoddess shouted to the Muru-Muru’s holding down the Queen Diclonius. Kaede, struggling against the Muru-Muru’s holding her down and stabbing her, grunted and resisted with her might. Then suddenly, it seemed like there was an explosion of sand where Kaede and the other Muru-Muru’s were. They were completely engulfed by the rising white sand. But then, the sand turned to a reddish hue.

As the sands begun to settle down, Kaede emerged standing tall. Her entire body was coated in both blood and sand, with her horns grown longer than before. She had an extremely serious expression on her face as she was growing weary of Yuno’s tricks. All around her were the bits of flesh and limbs of the Muru-Muru’s she had blitzed. 5 of the other Muru-Muru’s got ready to protect their goddess and attack the powered up Queen.

As the Queen now approached them, Yuno spoke: “Be careful. She has an effective range of roughly 2 meters. If it wasn’t clear enough, she can effortlessly kill you before you-” But before she could finish, 4 of them were decapitated and their bodies torn apart. Most shocking was that she did all this a further distance than before, almost like her range had increased substantially.

Kaede then tried to kill Yuno and the original Muru-Muru as she closed in so that they’re in range of her vectors. But Muru-Muru picked up Yuno and flew up the stairs out of the Queen Diclonius’s field of view. Kaede immediately impulsed herself up the stairs to chase them. But once atop, they seemingly disappeared. Kaede looked around sharply to see if they had taken any turns or deviated from their intended direction.

“...Up to her sneaking tricks again? Where the hell did she go this time?” The long-horned Queen thought to herself as she wondered around the street with desolate buildings, destroyed asphalt and crashed cars in a careful and cautious manner. She has had enough of Yuno’s tricks, so she made sure to be 100% ready and cautious. Yuno and Muru-Muru on the other hand were hiding at the rooftop of a building slowly watching over her as she wandered around.

“You said something about her range?” Muru-Muru asked.

“It seems to have increased… Her range wasn’t that long before.” Yuno then examined closely her horns as the horned mutant wondered into their building and thought to herself “Her horns are longer, so they must have a correlation with her new range…”

“We need to go for the horns.” Yuno whispered to her. “But ho-” Muru-Muru was interrupted as she accidentally broke a piece of cement from the rooftop with her own weight. The piece, to the 2 deities’ misfortune, fell into Kaede’s sight. This caused the mutant to swiftly turn her head up to the rooftop of the building to see a figure disappearing from sight.

The pink-haired mutant didn’t hesitate and jumped all the way to the rooftop to see that they were gone. Seeing a door that lead to downstairs inside of the building, she walked down them. Inside the building was a desolate hallway that is laid out like an apartment hallway would: with several doors that lead to separate rooms and a staircase that led to floors below the one she was in.

“... I hate these types of games…” Kaede grumbled to herself as she started phasing her vectors through the door to feel the entire room for her.

Within one of these rooms, Yuno & Muru Muru were hiding. “Yuno, what do we do?” Muru-Muru said promptly. The pink-haired Goddess looked around to see many materials (most importantly, sulphur).

“I… I can make these explosives. If I can… Make them strong enough… Perhaps I can blow both of her horns off.” Yuno wasted no time and started crafting her explosives. However, Muru-Muru saw as she heard Kaede’s footsteps closing in the room, she realized that Yuno had very little time.

“I’m going to go buy you some time.” She whispered to her Goddess.

“No! Stay! I need you to-” Yuno was suddenly interrupted.

“There’s no time! She’s almost here! You can take the force of the explosives, and from what we’ve seen, she probably can’t take them, especially her horns. Besides, if all else fails, you still got your powers to rely on. There’s no way you can lose this.”

“...Okay. But promise me you won’t die.”

“I promise…” Muru-Muru’s eyes turned red as she was ready to go berserk on the Queen Diclonius. She then climbed through a small ventilation pipe to sneak out to distract the Queen for long enough.

Meanwhile, Kaede felt the rooms from outside the door with her vectors. However, her patience was running extremely low. “Grr… Where the hell is she?? I swear I’m going to make her suffer the most painful death I have ever inflicted on someone. More painful than that military bastard, more painful than Nana’s, more painful than Mariko’s, more PAIN-” Before she finished her train of thought as she swiftly checked the rooms, Kaede heard metallic noises from the ceiling. Without wasting any time, she started destroying the ceiling by ripping bits of the concrete that formed it. When she ripped the last bit out, however…

“Gwaaaaaaaaaaaagh!” Muru-Muru lunged at Kaede at speeds she could barely react and latched on to her face. She repeatedly scratched and violently shook her.

“Yagh!” Kaede squealed as the fierce creature bought Yuno the time she needed. Kaede tried to pry her off, but her efforts were in vein as Muru-Muru just wouldn’t let go. “L-let… me… go…!!”. She progressively felt overwhelmed as Muru-Muru just wouldn’t let down with her animalistic attack. Muru-Muru forced her back out to the roof.

“Ghahahahahaha! What happened, ox? I thought you were stronger than this! Pathetic weak ox looking human!” Muru-Muru cackled as she seemingly ha emerged triumphant. However, Kaede was now starting to become extremely enraged at being called an ox.

“... Shut.. up…! SHUT UP! SHUT UUUUUP!!” Kaede forced herself away in a fit of rage to slam her vectors at the extreme frequency against the rooftop, causing an explosion that shook the entire building. Muru-Muru was caught up in the explosion taking massive damage.

“... Muru-Muru? I’m coming!” She had finished crafting her explosive in the little time she was bought by Muru-Muru and swiftly ran out to where the commotion was happening, all this while activating her explosive. She planned to blow herself up with Kaede by surprise.

Muru-Muru lied on the floor with massive damage, seemingly dying. Kaede, extremely enraged with her face full of massive scratches and lacerations grabbed her with her vectors and said.

“You… will suffer greatly for calling me that…” She slowly and painfully started dismembering Muru-Muru and mutilating her, with the latter painfully screaming as she was paying the price of her enemy.

Yuno then emerged from the shadows with the explosive, as it was now almost ready to explode. She jumped up to try to embrace Kaede with the explosive right on her head. Kaede could not react in time to keep Yuno away as she was running at speeds she could barely react.

“Say Goodbye!!” Yuno screamed as the explosive went off.

The explosion was a big one and a very loud one. It had gone off, and Kaede’s horns completely broke off from the excessive force of the explosion and was sent flying back into the beach. Upon impact, she passed out. Yuno, on the other hand, was sent flying in a perpendicular direction to Kaede’s position. As she went flying, she saw her Future Diary leave her pocket. “N..No! My Futu-” Before she could even finish what she was saying, she hit herself against a light post really hard in the head. The force of the impact send her plummeting into the wall near the beach, and Yuno as a result also passed out. Both of the fierce combatants had passed out completely.

Yuno suddenly wakes up as she sees the entire Universe she was in now falling apart. The universe had spent too much time without its own God, and it certainly started taking its toll. The Goddess had the choice to leave, but she knew she had some unfinished business: finding her Future Diary and kill her. She walked around the desolate beach looking for her Future Diary and Kaede.

“I… need to kill her… To avenge Yukki. But where is my Future Diary? I need to-” Before she could finish her line, she saw her: Kaede. This time, she was sitting on a tree trunk that had seemingly been there on the beach facing away from Yuno.

But something she noticed that got her in a state of shock was that she was in possession of her Future Diary, seemingly scrolling through her messages holding the phone in one of the strangest ways Yuno had ever seen: she was holding the phone with the screen in between her index finger and middle finger of her right hand, while holding the lower part of the phone by pushing her ring and pinky fingers up on the back of the lower part of the phone. She pressed the buttons with the index finger of her left hand and held the phone close to her face. She looked like she was using a flip-phone for the first time in her life.

However, the Yandere, in desperate need of regaining her Diary and avenging Yukiteru, then took this chance to slowly sneak up on her. Only for Kaede to pickup on her movement almost immediately with her enhanced senses.

Kaede turned her head to see the pink-haired Yandere trying to sneak up on her, stared at her with sorrowful eyes and then completely turned her head and spoke to her in a rather peaceful tone. “So you finally wake up… Yuno Gasai…”

Yuno responded with a glare and said with the least amount of nervousness as possible “... That’s my phone.”

Kaede looked back at the phone she had on her hand and extended her arm out with it to hand it back “Come take it.”

There was a brief pause as the two stared at each other quietly: Kaede with sorrow and Yuno with silent rage. Contrasting emotions.

“... If you’re planning to apologize for killing Yukki, then know that I will never forgive you, and that I will stop at nothing to kill you.” Yuno said bluntly.

“I wasn’t going to ask for your forgiveness. I’m not my other me.” Kaede responded uninterestedly.

“Other you?”

“Yes. I have another persona. Another personality.” There was a pause as Yuno then made the connection between the two mentalities she had displayed as they fought. It all made sense to her now: she had a MPD.

Kaede spoke up again "Are you going to take the phone or what?"

Yuno stared at her again, slowly and diligently taking the phone from her hand. The gesture seemed rather sincere. The Goddess opened her mouth again "Why are you doing this? What got into your head?"

Kaede stood there quietly for a few seconds. It appeared that she would answer her question. But instead, she said “She and I were a little bit like you a long time ago. I had a terrible childhood and upbringing like you. The world treated her and I terribly almost all our life kind of like you. She and I then fell for a boy we loved and cherished with all our heart, as they were the only ones who seemingly understood us and genuinely nice to us, like you. We had a small family and a home like you, too. We get extremely jealous to the point where we consider taking things too far, like you. We-”

Yuno confused and annoyed interrupted her, “Where are you trying to go with this? Are you trying to relate with me so that I forgive you for what you did?”

“No no. This is not about forgiveness, Yuno. This is about mercy…” Kaede said this as her voice started cracking. The emotions were now starting to get to her. Before Yuno knew it, her lover’s murderer was crying in front of her.

“I… I have fucked up so much in my life… So much more than you can possibly imagine… I killed so many people in my anger and sadness... I even killed said boy's family because I overreacted… I failed to protect him… My new home… My new small family… My pet… I… lost… I lost everything to this shithole of a world! Because of it… I got so enraged… I got too caught up on my sadness… In my pain… I killed everyone in this world… And now… I’m all alone... And it's all my fault...” She then convulsively gasped “I really hate loneliness…” She said quietly as she cried a bit more.

“...” Yuno suddenly felt a small hint of sympathy for the horned Yangire. She could definitely see herself being driven to that breaking point if Yukki was killed. In fact, she was driven to a similar point during their fight. So she could not blame her for feeling the way she did.

Looking down, Yuno spoke up “... I feel your pain. Loneliness is the worst feeling. I had my dose of it after killing my parents. And it is such a shame that you were unlucky enough to be driven beyond that point. And that the person you love was taken away from you forcefully. It really is. However...”

Yuno looked up and pulling out a throwing knife she had in her pocket and pointing at Kaede, she said “That is still no reason to be ruining others' lives, and I still cannot forgive you for ruining MY life, too. You still have to pay for killing my Yukki. And I will not stop at that. I will kill you.”

“And that’s exactly what I want from you.” Said Kaede looking up with her face drenched in tears.

Yuno lost her composure as it was odd that someone asked to be killed. It was a bit incredulous. “Huh?”

“Yes… I want you to kill me. Please… I don’t want to be left all alone here. I don’t want to have the burden of living with these painful memories and regrets anymore… I just want to join him and my family… I just… I just want to die…” There was a long pause as the two stared at each other eye to eye.

“I know now that you have hidden powers... That you are some sort of Goddess. Please…. Use those powers of yours to kill me. Your conventional weapons like your guns won’t be enough.”

“... After all of that fighting, she’s seriously letting me kill her now? This doesn’t sound right at all! What the hell is the matter with this bitch?” She thought to herself very briefly until her lover’s killer screamed in seeming pain.

Kaede groaned and fell to her knees clutching her head with her two hands “Quickly… I’m… losing control... “ She convulsively gasped again and blurted out what seemed to be her 2 final words “Hurry up…!” What was happening to her? Why was she losing control? What was about to happen? Yuno didn’t know for sure. However, she wasn’t going to let this opportunity to waste.

Immediately, she rushed towards the struggling Diclonius and tried to kill her. Yuno grabbed her by the hair and pulled her up to see her pained face, still drenched in tears. This violent action caused the right side of her neck to be revealed. She raised her throwing knife almost as if to strike her down to end it once and for all. To her absolute dismay, however, just as the knife was a few centimeters away from connecting the killing stab, she was flung full force against the wall by the beach.

“Stupid girl. She deliberately tries to forget the promise she’s made with me thinking she could live with you putrid humans.” 'Kaede' now talked in a graver and monotone tone. It was like she was now a completely different person now. Different than Nyuu and Kaede.

“...What? ...!” She made eye contact with her and she saw that now she was completely different than ever before: the green in her eyes had almost completely diminished and her face was that of a soul-gazing poker face.

“Tell me, human. Do you really think you can kill me?”

“... I’m more than just a human. I am a Goddess.” Yuno’s face was completely covered in shadow by her hair. Suddenly, she swung her arm sideways as the clothes around her glowed and suddenly turned into a completely black cloak. Her eyes gave a feeling of seriousness and true determination. She realized now her duty as the holder of her title.

“You cannot kill a Goddess.” She then started to fly upwards into the sky at relatively fast speeds, looking down on the horned mutant.

“Gods can be slain.” ‘Kaede’ said coldly, promptly following her upwards with her vectors ‘levitating’. After levitating towards the goddess, she finally met her at eye level staring down at each other. “Not even you, a Goddess, can stop me from destroying this world.”

“I can’t let you do that. I must defeat you.” Suddenly, she raised her hands in the air slowly moving a lot of debris from below and also summoning many of her Reality Spheres. She opened her mouth yet again to say “Once I defeat you here, I’ll make sure to kill you in all my worlds and create a new one in which you never existed.”

“...” ‘Kaede’ also raises her hands to shoulder height, summoning all her 28 vectors. Except this time, she was vibrating them at the extreme frequency causing them to be seen by the naked eye. Yuno could now make out what the force that was hitting her all along was: ‘invisible’ long arms that manifested all around her.

“Try as you might. I will make a mess out of you…” She then summoned them towards the goddess to try to kill her right then and there.

But Yuno, now being able to see the vectors, used her Reality Spheres to block and the debris from below the ground to attack 'Kaede' directly. The battle incited. The fate of this world, and possible all other worlds depended on it. Who would win? The Human Demigoddess of Space & Time? Or the Mutant Queen of the Diclonii? Only fate will tell.

'Kaede', seeing the multiple debris coming her way, blocked them and threw some debris back at Yuno. Yuno effortlessly blocking and then summoning more, as well as being diligent in trying to hit her with all her Reality Spheres to trap her in illusions. 'Kaede' on the other hand only focused in trying to kill her with her vectors, but due to the presence of the Reality Spheres, the job had become more difficult than it should’ve been. Spheres and vectors clashing as their users were trying to kill one another.

Yuno observed for a blind spot and used her ingenuity to sneak up a Reality Sphere to try and hit the Queen Diclonius with it. 'Kaede' on the other hand was trying to brute force her way through the Spheres and other rubble being thrown at her to try and kill her. It was very apparent that her intelligence had dropped significantly ever since the DNA Voice took over, giving the Goddess many window of opportunities to capitalize on this. Or so it seemed.

Yuno, finally finding a small window of opportunity to hit 'Kaede' with one of her Reality Spheres, takes the chance to finish things off. “I got you now!” She shouted as the Reality Sphere was meters away from hitting her.

! 'Kaede' looked right to her right to see a Reality Sphere coming her way. Immediately, she pulled back one of her vectors to block it. But the force of the sphere was strong, so she had no choice but to destroy it. Vibrating her vectors at their highest frequency caused a massive explosion that destroyed the Reality Sphere.

The Goddess watched in awe, as she saw how the Mutant Queen conjunctured the explosions out of thin air. But then she observed something very important that gave her a shine of light after she started losing hope: 'Kaede' coughed blood. This caused the vectors to weaken very briefly.

“She… Grows weaker??” Yuno thought to herself. “... I know now exactly what I must do.” The Goddess now started to mix it up trying to distract the semi-animalistic Queen. Her clear intention was to wear her down to the point where she couldn’t fight.

‘Kaede’ however, was still trying to charge in to kill her. Everytime Yuno blocked with debris or with her Reality Spheres, she grew more impatient and reckless, giving the Goddess more opportunities. “Grr… Annoying human… LET ME KILL YOU!” But Yuno knew better.

She repeated the same process of catching her off-guard, diverting her attention and capitalizing of any mistake she made. This started paying off as now Kaede went from coughing more blood, to actually melting as her left arm fell off. "Grr..." The Queen Diclonius, finally realizing that this wasn’t working, started to deploy her fair share of tactics.

‘Kaede’ started throwing projectiles at her as well as blocking and leaving no window of opportunity, while having 1 or 2 vectors sneak up on the Goddess. Would this tactic work? The answer is ‘Yes’, as Yuno, while in the middle of realizing that she now needed new plans, was grabbed by the neck by an invisible force. It was a vector and she knew it. But because ‘Kaede’ wasn’t vibrating them, she couldn’t see it coming.

“HAHA! I GOT YOU NOW!” ‘Kaede’ started pummeling the Goddess in the face with a barrage of vectors, while one of them was holding her by the neck. The conditions on Yuno’s face worsened as now the bone of her nose could be seen. Her entire face was coated in blood. Kaede was ready to deliver what she thought would be the killing blow, vibrating one of her vectors to the visible frequency again.

“SAY GOODBYE!!” The animalistic Queen screamed.

But Yuno in an instant grinned as she squeezed her hand. A Reality Sphere came flying at Kaede at rapid speed. Unfortunate for the Mutant Queen, she couldn’t react in time to block it from afar. The Reality Sphere had hit her. As a result of this collision, some of her weakened limbs went flying, and the rest of her was being sent crashing to the ground by the Reality Sphere.

“...Damn… you…” ‘Kaede’ said quietly as the Reality Sphere hit her to the ground. The pain was too much to bare, but she had to will herself for one last push. And this last push for sure, would be the strongest one she would have to make by far. As the Queen was about to crash into the ground, she summoned her vectors one last time to push the Reality Sphere away from her and push herself away from the ground. To her dismay, however, the Goddess was swift and summoned all her other Reality Spheres to banish her for good in one of her dimensions.

“I… I win here… It ends here… For Yukki…!!” Yuno shouted as the Reality Spheres were headed towards ‘Kaede’.

“Grrrghh… No…!” ‘Kaede’ said as she was struggling a lot to concentrate. She summoned more of her vectors to block the Reality Spheres, but this caused her to melt more quickly making it much harder to administer her vectors. The Spheres came closer, closer and closer. Does Yuno win here?

“...GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!” ‘Kaede’ let out one last blood-curdling scream as she in an instant made her vectors the size of islands, vibrating at the extreme frequency making a colossal explosion that seemingly dispersed a good portion of the Earth’s clouds, as well as causing a global earthquake and being visible from outer space. The Reality Spheres also seemingly got vaporized by the explosion. Considering the conditions she was on, it took her all to do this.

Yuno, in the distance, looked over to the explosion in complete shock with her mouth wide open. She was rather confident that she had won, but she didn’t know her opponent could unleash such power. Still, she sighed in relief. But then she started having thoughts.

“It didn’t seem like she ever got any happiness in her life. Maybe that would’ve been me if I had not been able to meet Yukki again… I guess we are really not that different…” Yuno went from pouting to looking up to the skies in determination. “But still, she’s far beyond salvation at this point. It’s time I save the other worlds of mine from her wrath. I need to-”

Her thoughts were interrupted as her Future Diary rang with a notification. It was perhaps an update log to her Future Diary. She opened it to expect a regular log of her being determined to bring Yukki back…

“N-no… I-Impossible! I failed to avenge Yukki! This can’t be! I… I’m sorry… Yukki… T_T”

‘DEAD END’

“... W-What…? N-No… No no no nononono…! T-This can’t be!” Yuno said as started breathing very heavily as her Dead End flag was set. She then looked back at the explosion to be greeted with ‘Kaede’ flying towards her at speeds she couldn’t react: her body now only consisted of her torso. Her face had almost completely melted off and her hair was very tousled.

“Grr…” ‘Kaede’ was now very close to her. Using one of her vectors, she cut off one of Yuno’s arms holding her Future Diary.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!” Yuno screamed in agony as her arm was violently ripped off. She was then grabbed by the neck once again as the two started plummeting to the sea. On the way down, ‘Kaede’ started ripping out her organs from her body violently, all while the sorry Goddess was screaming more. The vectors were like piranhas chomping and ripping their victim to pieces. Finally, as the two got closer to the sea, the Queen put two of her vectors on her head, each on one side. The Goddess’ head was then promptly ripped in two from the sides, with the last thing Yuno seeing is ‘Kaede’s’ glare with her horrendous face. As this happened, her eyes went lifeless and blood poured into ‘Kaede’s’ face.

Finally, after an arduous struggle, ‘Kaede’ crashed into the water. Due to the conditions of her body, it stung really bad to just be submerged in the water as all the wounds were being irritated by the water’s salt. In this instant however, it seemed like the other persona was slipping from control as the real persona took control of the body again.

“...So this is it… I won… and I get to die here…” She thought to herself as she started to drown.

“Hehehe… She did see through my pain for a bit… Her and I… Aren’t so different after all… Hahaha… I’m glad… I can now rest peacefully...” She started slipping away as her vision became white and the world around her disintegrated.

“Kouta… At last... I… I’m coming… To join you… I’m… coming...”The skin of her body was now completely washed away, leaving only her skeleton which was now disintegrating alongisde the universe she resided.

"Kouta..." Was the last thing she thought as one last image of him smiling at her stroking her face showed up, until fading away from existence.

Kaede, in the end, had won, as she got what she wanted: the destruction of the world she loathed, as well as dying peacefully knowing this. No longer does she have to bare the pain of being alone, as she died peacefully, hoping to meet Kouta again in the afterlife... It truly was... A Dead End...

Conclusions

Boomstick: Damn… That was slightly touching…

Wiz: These two were very strong women. But only one of them had everything it took to take the victory more often than not.

Boomstick: Everything? What do you mean by that?

Wiz: What I mean is that Kaede had every advantage that mattered except for a few.

Boomstick: What?! But Yuno’s a Goddess! How is that possible?!

Wiz: Let me explain, Boomstick. I’ll start off with Yuno’s Goddess form. Yuno’s Goddess form without a doubt gave her some very nifty abilities that in other situations would net her an easy victory. Having the ability to remove your opponent from the battlefield with her Reality Spheres, to stop time and to warp reality are all very powerful and useful abilities! Especially when you conjure them with high intelligence! However, hax, unless potent enough, in of itself doesn’t win you matches. You also need advantages in other categories like AP, speed, durability, range, etc.

Boomstick: Yeah. But isn’t Goddess Yuno Universal?

Wiz: Not in the sense that many people think. Many believe that physically she is this powerful. But due to the many contradictions in the anime/manga, it does not seem to be the case. She dies to a regular knife. A person with Universal durability cannot die to a mere knife. Moreso, she felt threatened by a common bullet, and was able to be contested by Yukiteru of all people. However, she can still create universes with her hax. But she hasn’t really demonstrated that she can apply that to combat.

Boomstick: But wait wait wait, despite all of this, how can Kaede win when you consider that when Yuno dies, the universe dies with her?

Wiz: That’s taken a bit out of context. The universe doesn’t die immediately like it explodes. Not to mention, the reason why Universe 2 wasn’t destroyed with her death was because she didn’t create the universe with her own powers. This implies that this only happens if the Universe they fight in is one of Yuno’s universes.

Boomstick: And that unfortunately can’t be allowed due to the rules set in stone, huh?

Wiz: Home advantage? Yeah. That’s not allowed.

Boomstick: Well, I understand now. Yeah, Kaede wins this due to better stats, right?

Wiz: Much better stats, yes. Physically, she can survive her own explosions as shown in her island busting feat. She can even make her vectors the size of islands which should make the vectors MUCH more powerful than then. This means that Kaede is massively more durable than her, meaning Yuno is realistically going to have a miserable time trying to land any meaningful damage.

Boomstick: Not to mention just how ridiculously fast Kaede is: her vectors shot up into outer space in a matter of 8 seconds. They moved 4,537,138 meters in this short timeframe, meaning they’re Mach 1654. 1654 times faster than the speed of sound! How can Yuno answer to this?!

Wiz: Considering that Kaede also needs 1 hit to kill her, she just can’t. 10/10 times Kaede blitzes her. Even worse when she can’t even see, let alone sense her vectors to begin with.

Boomstick: But can’t she just be outside of her range?

Wiz: No. Her range is so long she could be 1 continent away and Kaede would still be able to reach her.

Boomstick: Wow… That sounds… Really unfair. And here I was thinking Goddess Yuno would plow through her.

Wiz: Yuno might’ve had the intelligence and hax, but Kaede’s physical superiority, overwhelming range, massively Hypersonic speeds, brutality and well-fitted abilities give her a very comfortable victory.

Boomstick: Yuno, Wiz, I Nyuu she didn’t stand an Elfen chance all along. Guess Kaede was destined to take the Lied in the End.

Wiz: The Winner is Kaede!
