Wind Dancer is a Venezuelan. After her mother died, she was sent to live with her father, and accidentally destroyed one of his shops using her mutant power of aerokinesis. She was sent to prison but then sent to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, placed on the New Mutants Squad.
