History[]
White Fang was a wolf-dog hybrid, born to a she-wolf owned by a Native American. Though he was raised amongst the other puppies of the tribe, White Fang was never accepted by them, and he needed to fight nearly constantly, just for survival. As such he grew up to be savage but solitary creature.
When White Fang was five years old, he was traded by his owner, Grey Beaver, to a white man named Beauty Smith. Smith organizes dog fights, and White Fang quickly became his star fighter, defeating numerous dogs, several wolves and even a lynx. However, when pitted against a particularly fierce bulldog, he was finally defeated, and nearly killed. However, a wealthy man named Weedon Scott rescued him and bought him from Smith.
Scott took White Fang to his California home and White Fang enjoyed his new life there, but Scott's father, Judge Scott was concerned about him. Meanwhile, a violent fugitive named Jim Hall broke into their house to kill Judge Scott, but White Fang killed him and was nearly killed in the process. However, he survived and was accepted as a member of the family.
