A werewolf or lycanthrope is a folkloric figure, most commonly a man who becomes half-human half-wolf (or purely a wolf) by the full moon. Similar creatures and entities exist throughout the world's many cultures, often with a different name and characteristics.

While the origin for werewolves has differed in various myths and legends, as well as films and comics and other mediums it is most commonly referred to as the following, simply put a werewolf is a human being infected with a disease that causes them to transform any time they see or feel the light of the full moon into a half man half wolf monster and whenever the full moon goes down they transform back into a human, werewolves are excellent hunters and ambush predators with enhanced abilities to improve their survival, they fight to survive and are unstoppable killers when aggravated.

- Some scholars believe the werewolf made its debut in The Epic of Gilgamesh, the oldest known Western prose, when Gilgamesh jilted a potential lover because she had turned her previous mate into a wolf. Werewolves made another early appearance in Greek mythology with the Legend of Lycaon.
