Description[]
Breaking Bad vs Death Note! Going from average nobodies in society to one of the most feared criminals, these two men who did their evil deeds for good began to let their power corrupt and make them sociopaths, showing that power should never go to the smartest ones. Now they will both step into the ring in a battle of wits between Heisenberg and Kira.
Intro[]
Wiz: Walter White, Albuquerque's chemistery teacher turned meth kingpin named Heisenberg.
Boomstick: Light Yagami, Tokyo's mysterious Death Note wielder who the media calls Kira.
Wiz: While they've always been completely normal people with a brilliant mind, power would soon corrupt them and make them into secret sociopaths.
Boomstick: In a battle of brains, these two will clash together in an episode which will be a lot different from our usual ones.
Wiz: For this battle, both Walter and Light will have to figure out each other's true identity as they will only know their alias. In other words, this will not be entirely a fight between fisticuffs but a battle of gameplans and mystery. Not only that, we'll be allowing something a bit different.
Boomstick: Both combatants will be allowed to have their associates assist them in their battle of wits...to a certain extent.
Wiz: After all, one of Walter and Light's biggest components on these type of scenarios are connections and getting as much information out of others as possible.
Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weaponry, armour and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle!
Walter White[]
Wiz: Somewhere in New Mexico was a small city named Albuquerque. The place was full of meth addicts and meth distributors.
Boomstick: You know this could also be some other parts of the US too but whatever. Either way, the most famous one weren't white, much like a certain meth cook's surname, but with a blue colour to it. No artificial colours, 99.1% pure and all chemically made.
Wiz: Chemistry is the study of matter or more specifically the study of change.
Boomstick: Those were the famous words of Walter Hartwell White who graduated college and became a school teacher. Kind of an unfortunate thing to do after winning a Nobel Prize but I guess it's one way of showing your smartness.
Wiz: Walter wasn't anything special. He was nothing more but a 50 year old chemistry teacher living a normal life as a family man. Everything went well for him until the next day after his 50th birthday. After collapsing to the ground unconscious, he had been given some bad news.
Boomstick: Turns out Walt here has a little pain in the ass, or pain in the lungs in this case, called "lung cancer". This meant he would only have two years to live.
Wiz: Worried that his family will have to live a poor life once he dies, he remembers a news report where his brother in-law Hank states that a group of methheads had a massive stack of cash with them, thus giving Walter the idea to discover more about the meth business which eventually led to him meeting up with a former student of his named Jesse Pinkman.
Boomstick: With that, both Walter and Jesse formed an alliance and began cooking meth in an RV. I'm not kidding. They literally cooked crystal stuff in a RV.
Wiz: Unfortunately for Walter, he would quickly find that he would need to defend himself in the world of drug making resulting him in having to go up against some of the toughest kingpins in all of Albuquerque.
Boomstick: So great. Having no choice but to commit murder and also hiding your newfound occupation as a meth crafter from your in-law who is also a DEA agent.
Wiz: After fully becoming a new rookie in the drug business, Walter would then have to keep his identity a secret, turning him into one of the most intellectual drug kingpins: Heisenberg.
Boomstick: After adapting the name, he and Jesse would start their meth business by cooking for Tuco Salamanca. Well, before Tuco commits a murder on his own men, kidnaps his two witnesses and soon getting shot down by Hank.
Wiz: The unknown man named Heisenberg would spread across the whole Salamanca family shortly after Tuco's death and the number one kingpin of New Mexico, Gustavo Fring.
Boomstick: That's right folks. The co-founder of a fast food restaurant is the biggest drug kingpin in town. Don't let his friendly attitude get the better of you because deep down, he's a true monster.
Wiz: That would soon come to Walter's attention but his experience in not just being the creator of his signature blue crystal meth and a former chemistry teacher but also a gameplanner would come into place throughout his time in the business, usually planning ahead before any of his victims much like how he killed Emilio, Krazy-8 and Tuco before they could go for the kill first.
Boomstick: As he progressed further in the ways of a criminal, Walt did a pretty good job on overcoming multiple kingpins and gangs, all which are far more experienced, and manages to leave virtually no trace of him behind.
Wiz: Walter is also incredible at manipulating those around him into doing exactly what he wants to happen, successfully orchestrating scenarios such as convincing Jesse to kill Gale being killed off while being confronted so Gus would have no one to replace him and Jesse. Not only that but he also had Hank believe that he was completely innocent in the whole 'Heisenberg case'.
Boomstick: Hell! This guy was able to convince a cold hearted criminal like Mike to continue working alongside him even when Walt was so close to getting his head blown off. This is some wild things for a former chemistry teacher.
Wiz: However, manipulating others doesn't always work out which is way Walter never goes into the meth business empty handed.
Boomstick: He often carries at least a pistol or small revolver on him, ranging from Smith & Wesson 4506, his usual weapon of choice, or a Ruger LCR. Walter occasionally carries some fulminated mercury and while it looks like it, trust me. This...is not meth.
Wiz: Even just a single one was powerful enough to completely destroy an entire room and Walter stood in the middle of it unharmed but if he wants to go even further with explosives, he uses a pipe bomb which is created with only a few resources yet it's explosion can reach up to 209kJ, powerful enough to simply kill anyone close by.
Boomstick: Now if he ever wants to leave no trace behind, Walter can use some ricin to poison his enemies with even just a small amount of it although it's a slower way of killing people.
Wiz: Walter also have a history of bugging people to get whatever information he requires.
Boomstick: Seriously? He's using bugs as a secret weapon now?
Wiz: No not those kind of bugs. These bugs can vary from GPS trackers to find a certain individual's location or audio recorders.
Boomstick: It's also shocking how much of a powerhouse Walt can be at times. He punched a metal dispenser so hard that he created a dent on it and punching a metal dispenser is enough to break any regular hands.
Wiz: Walter is strong enough to lift and toss fully grown men such as Saul with very little hesitation, throw a large plant hard enough to slightly break a glass window, took a few stabbings to the leg, fell from the top balcony of his Superlab while taking a piece of shattered glass to the head and could even fight physically on par with Jesse for a period of time.
Boomstick: Even if he was getting his ass kicked for the most part but hey. Fistfighting isn't what he's exactly known for. He's got some decent speed on him at least.
Wiz: He quickly reacted to an incoming semi-truck while driving on the wrong side of the road at 90km/h but even when he had his eyes shut beforehand.
Boomstick: Walter could dodge incoming bullets, ran out of his RV after he immediately filled it with Phosphine Gas which was enough to kill Emilio and kinda dodged a knife swing from Skyler. I mean, he still got a small cut from it.
Wiz: By the time he finally left his career of being a drug kingpin, he remained undetected of being Heisenberg and left Hank unaware of the man behind all of the chaos within the world of drug dealing.
Boomstick: But uh-oh! Hank does eventually find out when remembering a time where his own brother in-law threw in a tiny hint when showing him his progress on the case. Things would've been completely fine for Walt if Hank didn't open that book while taking a-
Wiz: Anyways, Hank confronts Walter and even punches him hard enough to knock him down yet Walter still manages to keep standing tall.
Boomstick: It would also become apparent that Jesse would assist Hank after finding out that Walter poisoned the child of his girlfriend and having him think it was Gus who did it at the time.
Wiz: Although he would be able to escape from being placed into handcuffs, it would however cost Walter his own brother in-law's life to be taken by Walter' former ally Jack Welker.
Boomstick: Hank! Noooooo!
Boomstick: Heheheh! God I can't take Walt's breakdown seriously anymore and it's all thanks to the Internet. So with that, Walter would not only lose the $80 million that was taken as well as Hank but even his own family.
Wiz: Now being found out for his crimes, Walter would have to hide away for a while and go under the name of Mr. Lambert.
Boomstick: He may not be able to fix his wrong doings but he's been through it all.
Wiz: Walter overcame Hector Salamanca as well as the other members of the Salamanca family, killed Mike while he was off-guard and even overtook Gus' place as the biggest drug kingpin in town after successfully killing him. He also kept his life a secret from Hank and the rest of the DEA for more than a year and evaded being put into prison and any trials. He succeeded in his goals and survived at the time, even when working in the deadliest situations with some help from not just his associates but his own cautions and how wise he is.
Boomstick: Hank truly wasn't wrong when he said that Walt was the smartest man he knew. Too bad he's nothing more but a 50 year old man who's lung cancer would return and have him fall unconscious for a short period of time every now and then despite being cured from it for the rest of the show. I mean, what other reason aside his family would he have for causing all of this?
Wiz: That is if it was his true reason. It turns out he only ever did for himself and wanted to leave a life of being some bland teacher. In an act of being selfless since the start of his life of crime, Walt pulls one last scheme on Jack and his gang to make things right with his family and his former partner in crime. Activating a M60 machine gun, he takes out every last members, retrieves the money he earned from cooking and selling meth and saved Jesse.
Boomstick: However, it did cost him his own life since he did get shot in the process. Hey. At least he died with one amazing ballad of his own.
Wiz: While Jesse escaped while he could, Walter looks back at all of the memories of being Heisenberg before eventually dying in the middle of Jack's own methlab. From an average high school chemistry teacher to one of, if not, the biggest and richest kingpins around, Walter White died as Albuquerque's most dangerous criminal in town.
Walter White's Associates[]
Jesse Pinkman[]
Wiz: While tagging along during one of his brother in-law's mission, Walter would soon find out that a former student of his is in the meth business.
Boomstick: This was Jesse Pinkman who wasn't the best student in Walt's chemistry class but hey, he knows the business while Walter knows the chemistry. Just like that, they formed a dynamic duo where they'd begin raising money out of cooking some illegal blue crystals.
Wiz: Since then, he's been Walter's number one partner in crime. While Jesse isn't the brightest person around, he's the only one who's ever been close to perfectly cooking Heisenberg's very own blue sky meth. He's also gone through a lot of pain.
Boomstick: The dude's been through a lot of beatings, one from Tuco and another from Hank. Jesse even went through almost a whole year of torture from Jack Welker and his gang.
Wiz: But Jesse has shown to be useful in combat, even defeating Walter in a physical fight on more than one occassion.
Boomstick: Even after leaving the meth business, Jesse successfully took out an entire gang all by himself which just shows how much stronger he'd gotten since he started working with Walter.
Wiz: Unfortunately for him, he's usually never willing to kill others such as Gale and despite evading law enforcements, isn't usually a stragegist.
Saul Goodman[]
Boomstick: But if Walt needs someone to help come up with some form of strategy, there's one solution: Better Call Saul!
Wiz: Saul Goodman plays the role of both Walter and Jesse's criminal defense lawyer and knows how to get Walt and himself out of situations due to him being a sketchy lawyer.
Boomstick: But he isn't one for physical combat, I mean he's gotten his ass kicked multiple times. Kind of pathetic.
Wiz: Well, yeah but he makes up for it through his own trickery. He had someone take the fall for Walter in being the name behind the alias "Heisenberg" which got his client in the clear.
Boomstick: Saul can give Walter a phone number to a guy named Ed Galbraith who's...just some old owner of a vacuum cleaner company?
Wiz: Ed is more than that. He's capable of giving anyone who calls for a "dust filter for a Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro", he can make a completely new identity for them.
Boomstick: A dust filter? That's how you ask him to give you a new ID? Guess that's one way of letting him now. At least he gets the job done by changing up the caller's appearance or identity.
Wiz: Saul can also get his assistants Patrick Kuby and Huell Babineaux to help alongside Walter's crimes and Huell has shown to be able to pickpocket others before without others thinking about it.
Mike Ehrmantraut[]
Boomstick: If pickpocketing or changing identities isn't enough however, Walt can get some assistance from an experienced assassinator and former beat cop Mike Ehrmantraut. Mike was not only a former member of a police force in Philadelphia but he even served the in the Marines during the Vietnam War so you know this guy is quite a powerhouse even at an old age.
Wiz: Mike is capable to going against an entire gang on his own and could take Walter down to the ground with a single hit with no hesitation.
Boomstick: He's also armed with a ton of firearms. Pistols, machine guns, sniper rifles. You name it. He's probably got it. Okay. He probably won't go as far as to get rocket launchers but you get the picture. What really makes Michael useful is his use of stealth and his own planning.
Wiz: Mike has a history of sneaking into areas such as homes and warehouses to assist his allies and get some information out of someone, all while not leaving a single trace of him behind. He's also never shown to be caught off guard and is capable to predicting when his enemies will fire at him.
Boomstick: Except for when Walt gave him a bullet to the head. Still, Mike's great when it comes to sneaking around, taking out cartel members when they least expect it and is an excellent guard. Overall, he's a real tough associate of Walter and quite possibly as tough as a certain DEA agent hunting down Heisenberg.
Hank Schrader[]
Wiz: Obviously Hank isn't Walter's more major associate outside of being a family member since this is the guy trying to take down the great Heisenberg, even if he becomes aware of the crimes of his own brother in-law and won't hesitate with arresting him.
Boomstick: But Hank's still willing to give Walter information on whatever case his working on without those awareness.
Wiz: He allows Walter to tag along on whatever investigation he gets himself into, even allowing Walt himself to assist him in a case where his own brother in-law is the mastermind behind the Heisenberg case. This means Walter can use Hank's trust and willingness to an advantage.
Boomstick: You know? Walt could've had a great career as a member of the DEA or the law as a whole if he didn't decide to become a meth kingpin or some chemistry teacher. I mean, he found out that the initials W.W was referring to a poetry writer yet Hank couldn't figure it out himself.
Wiz: Hank has also unknowingly helped Walt get himself out of trouble such as when he killed Tuco or just spilling out information on the case he's currently working on.
Boomstick: Too bad that didn't last forever because good old Agent Schrader here would find out who Heisenberg truly was and place him under arrest. This did however result in the death of both his own and his fellow DEA agent Gomez caused by Jack Welker and his gang of Neo-Nazis. Yep. That's what they are.
Jack Welker and his Gang[]
Wiz: Due to his association with Todd Alquist, Walter is able to get extra assistance in physical combat with the help of Todd's uncle Jack and the rest of his gang.
Boomstick: Honestly, Neo-Nazis were probably not the best option for new recruitments. All that aside, the gang are some cold-blooded assassins armed with a shit ton of weapons such as machine guns, pistols and any other firearms they can get their hands on.
Wiz: Walter can call Welker to get him and his fellow members to kill off anyone he requests, even getting a few others to help get the job done.
Boomstick: That's exactly how Walt got a few others in prison to kill 10 different inmates who had information that would be linked to him.
Wiz: Unfortunately, they turned their back on Walt and killed his own brother in-law right in front of him even when he asked them not to do it.
Boomstick: My point on why Walter should've gotten help from someone else still stands. Even then, these guys are some real tough criminals, and DEA agent, that anyone who dares to face Heisenberg would have a hard time getting past.
Light Yagami[]
Wiz: Average yet bored high school student Light Yagami had a not so interesting life. He was just a hardworking person when it came to his schoolwork and was one of the smartest in his class. Everything that was once normal for him would soon change once a notebook would fall from the sky.
Boomstick: But this was no normal notebook. This was the Death Note which gave Light the power to kill whoever he wants as long as he has the name and face of his victim.
Wiz: Thinking it was all a big load of baloney, Light decided to give it a shot and used it on a criminal and prove that what the notebook stated was in fact not real.
Boomstick: Too bad his theory was wrong but next thing he knew, that criminal straight up died of a heart attack and not believing it and thinking of it as a coincidence Light gave it another shot and what do you know? They died again. So yeah, Light now has the power to kill anyone just by writing their name down.
Wiz: The Death Note didn’t just magically drop from the sky for no reason. A shinigami named Ryuk had supposedly dropped it from the Shinigami Realm and later ended it up in the human world.
Boomstick: I’m sorry. A shini-what?
Wiz: A shinigami is the term used for ‘God of Death’ in Japan. In other words, he’s basically a grim reaper…kind of.
Boomstick: Anyways, Ryuk leaves the Shinigami Realm and pays Light a visit in his own room where he’s been writing a whole page length of names in the Death Note, telling him that he’s basically gonna be following him while he has the notebook in his hand.
Wiz: After many kills being recognized worldwide despite not showing his actions in person, Light Yagami would soon earn himself the public name “Kira”, which its meaning is the word “killer” in Japanese for those wondering.
Boomstick: But he’s got some bad news. His father is working for the Japanese Task Force who are currently trying to figure out who Kira really is. Worst of all, they’re also getting help from the brilliant detective called…L. Yep. You heard me right. His name is literally the 12th letter of the alphabet. Just go with it I guess.
Wiz: But the mysterious Kira wasn't going down with a fight or at least through mind games that is. Even before becoming a mass murderer in disguise that wields a strange notebook with the ability to kill the user's victims, Light was one of the smartest students in his school, even getting first place in his nation wide college entrance exams multiple times.
Boomstick: Haha. Nerd. Although I guess with that high intelligence comes some great planning. I mean, Light can quickly come up with plans at a surprisingly fast rate even while he's in the middle of a game of tennis.
Wiz: On top of that, Light was able to find a way to keep the Death Note hidden in his desk in case anyone decides to look around in it. All of this was done by creating a fake bottom surface in his desk. It's an incredible method if I do say so myself.
Boomstick: The dude was able to continue his killing spree just by hiding his phone under a bag of chips where he took a potato chip...and ATE IT! That's quite possibly the worst thing he's ever done!
Boomstick: Actually. I take that back. This is the worst thing he's ever done. Wait so what happens if he ends up making a mistake when writing someone’s name with a pen? Does he like, start over?
Wiz: Actually Boomstick. Light doesn’t use an ordinary pen nor does he use a pencil. In fact, he mainly uses a mechanical pen. Light can just erase any unintentional mistakes without any worries. Although if he does use a pencil, he’ll make sure to keep it sharpened.
Boomstick: And what if he doesn’t have the Death Note on him?
Wiz: That’s where his wristwatch comes in.
Boomstick: His watch? Come on Wiz! This isn’t Ben 10 we’re talking about.
Wiz: No. It’s nothing like that. If he needs to kill someone nearby immediately or if he doesn’t have the Death Note on him, Light can just open up a small drawer from within the watch that contains a small fragment of the notebook.
Boomstick: That’s great and all but too bad that’s not going to help Light even in a scenario where he would need L’s real name when the two eventually met in person. Should’ve taken that Shinigami Eye deal with Ryuk.
Wiz: Ah of course. The Shinigami Eyes give the Death Note’s user the ability to see their victim’s name and lifespan once they make the deal with whatever shinigami is with them.
Boomstick: Light did turn down the deal since not only would it cut his own lifespan in half but he wanted to live longer so he can continue killing as many criminals he could possibly wipe from the world. He can make the deal at any time he wants but it’s not likely to happen. Good thing he got his…kinda girlfriend Misa who had the Shinigami Eyes after making the deal with her own shinigami, Rem.
Wiz: Another thing to mention about the Death Note is that even the smallest piece of paper from it will still contain its full power. Its influence can also affect those whose names aren’t written in the Death Note depending on the victim’s death.
Boomstick: It also somehow doesn’t seem to run out of pages. With the amount of names Light writes daily should be enough to fill that entire notebook.
Wiz: The Death Note does still have its fair share of limits; the most notable one being that the victim will be safe from being killed if their name is misspelt four times.
Boomstick: There are way too many rules to a notebook that can easily kill humans but whatever stops it from being an overpowered item. I guess it doesn’t help that Light would need enough time to get a name written down in a physical confrontation.
Wiz: Speaking of physicality, Light may be more reliable with his intelligence but he’s not exactly a pushover outside of that. He’s pretty athletic. He was a tennis champion back in his years as a junior high school student after all.
Boomstick: I mean, Light even threw a punch at L right in the face at some point. He even sent the dude flying with that punch! Holy shit!
Wiz: Not only that but Light had also taken multiple punches from Misa. However, those were probably some weak punches.
Boomstick: With the way she obsesses over this dude, do you really think she’s tried to harm him in any way?
Wiz: But that doesn’t matter since Light is more experienced in a battle of wits rather than being someone that throws punches. It’s not always about brute strength alone that helps decide a winner especially in the scenarios Light got into.
Boomstick: After all, this is the same guy who planned some weird book swap idea that would erase his memory of being Kira for some time.
Wiz: In other words, the user of the Death Note would lose their memories of it if they were to ever give it up and no longer use it. Light did this in order to “prove” his innocence to L of not being Kira.
Boomstick: And it worked. He did eventually get the Death Note back and regain his memories but during the time, he’d shown some incredible detective skills which he had used to assist L in catching the temporary Kira.
Wiz: Sooner or later, it all came to an end. Not for Kira but for L. Light orchestrated the perfect victory with some help from Rem who would soon die after killing L due to her love for Misa.
Boomstick: Wait a minute. Aren’t shinigamis gods of death? How does that work?
Wiz: Simple. If the Shinigami that is attached to the notebook starts to feel affection towards the user, killing someone with the Death Note in order to protect them will kill the shinigami itself right after.
Boomstick: Kind of a strange way to kill a literal death god but who cares? Light succeeded in outsmarting the greatest detective, all thanks to his incredible planning and manipulation.
Wiz: With no more L to get in his way, Light reigned superior which made it god complex worse than what it already was.
Boomstick: You see, Light killing a bunch of criminals with a notebook with the power to kill people really got to his head despite saying that it wouldn't happen due to him being a model student.
Wiz: I mean, he’s still capable of controlling his emotions when being confronted, not letting anyone see his frustration and shock. He couldn’t have gone that mad right?
Boomstick: Wiz. Come on. There’s no way of defending this guy at this point.
Wiz: Oh who am I kidding? He’s gone fucking insane at this point. Anywho, Light would soon join his father and the rest of the Task Force in the Kira case and even become the second L, taking over his rival’s position of leading the case.
Boomstick: So Light is leading a case that involves catching himself. Yeah there really is no hope in the Japanese Task Force at this point. Just kidding. Light’s got some more big-brained geniuses to deal with.
Wiz: A few years later, the American government would assist the Japanese Task Force in the Kira case by starting an organisation called the Special Provision for Kira.
Boomstick: And to make matters worse for Light, the SPK was being led by L’s new and proper successor Near. There goes Light’s chances of being unstoppable…again.
Wiz: On top of that, Light also had to deal with L’s other successor Mello who had no intention of working with Near. Instead, he went off to get some help from the Mafia.
Boomstick: The things he would do to expose Kira’s identity before Near could. He’s also the reason why Soichiro got killed. Guess Light can join the list of anime characters who lost their father figure.
Wiz: Eventually, Light did end up getting the better of Mello with the help of his former college classmate Kiyomi Takada and most importantly Teru Mikami who he had given his notebook to.
Boomstick: Good thing he didn’t erase his memory again because he still kept at least one piece of the Death Note on him to keep them and continue his manipulation towards others.
Wiz: Eventually, Near soon put the pieces together with what was left of L’s deduction of who Kira was.
Boomstick: Now the rest of the Task Force finally began to gain suspicion of who they saw as the second L who was getting a little bit cocky.
Wiz: At last comes the moment to prove Light’s “innocence”. With Teru writing the names of the Task Force, the SPK and Near himself with his Death Note it would seem that Light had defeated his rival’s successor too and wiped the remaining Task Force and SPK members with him.
Boomstick: Too bad because it turns out Near got his hands on the Death Note and Teru had nothing but a fake replica at the time. He was so close to defeating Near but all of those risky plans and that massive god-complex only came with a fault for Light who really let his ego get the better of him.
Wiz: That didn’t mean all of Kira’s doings were for nothing. Light may not have created a perfect world like he imagined but he succeeded in reducing 70% of crime and even got the United States Government to give up on the case. He did all of this and managed to keep it all hidden for seven years until everything came crumbling down on him.
Boomstick: After a bit of a breakdown, Light eventually got a few bullets from a really pissed off Matsuda while he was in the middle of writing Near’s real name into that little piece of the Death Note hidden in his watch.
Wiz: Surprisingly enough, Light still managed to make a run for it even after all of those shots with one of them hitting him in the chest.
Boomstick: For a so-called “god”, he kinda took that loss like an absolute bitch. It just goes to show that even with a killer notebook, Light was still nothing more but an insane but still regular human being.
Wiz: The Japanese Task Force or the Special Provision for Kira for that matter may have been able to bring Kira to justice publicly and throw him behind bars but Ryuk still managed to get one last bit of entertainment before going back to the Shinigami Realm. It all came to an end for Light once his name went into Ryuk’s Death Note and died of a heart attack the same way many of his victims did.
Boomstick: Light Yagami may not have been able to completely rid the world of criminals but he died as someone who his followers could still see as the God of the New World.
Light Yagami's Associates[]
Ryuk[]
Wiz: While Light Yagami was the one who attempted to rid the world of criminals but he couldn’t have done it if he never saw the Death Note fall from the sky.
Boomstick: And it just so happened to be owned by the shinigami known as Ryuk.
Wiz: Ryuk however doesn’t exactly assist Light in any way and only watches everything unfold but providing him an apple will be enough for him to help.
Boomstick: This is exactly how Light gets Ryuk to take part in his plans whether that’s looking for cameras in a room or frightening the life out of them.
Wiz: Once someone touches even just a small piece of the Death Note, they will be capable of seeing Ryuk. After all, shinigamis can’t be seen by any regular humans as long as they’ve gotten their hands on a Death Note.
Boomstick: On top of that he can get Ryuk to create some fake rules for the Death Note which is how Light got the Task Force to believe that the person who was Kira had no choice but to kill.
Wiz: As previously mentioned, Light can get Ryuk to make the Shinigami Eye deal in order to see the name and lifespans of his victims.
Boomstick: But with Light being an overly confident person, that’s very unlikely to happen.
Misa Amane[]
Wiz: At least he won’t have to consider it either way as long as his number one admirer Misa Amane is by his side. Starting off as nothing but a model, Misa became overly obsessed with Kira after finding out that he just so happened to kill the man that murdered her family.
Boomstick: It only got to a more concerning degree when she finally met Light face to face. How did she know Light was Kira you may ask? It turns out that Misa found a Death Note of her own and made the Shinigami Eye deal with Rem, the shinigami that is attached to her book. Well, before she turned into dust as if she got snapped out of existence by Thanos.
Boomstick: If Light were to need a name immediately but had no way of finding it, Misa could practically do the work for him since she has both her Death Note and the Shinigami Eyes to get the job done.
Wiz: Misa did lose them after giving up her Death Note but she did make the deal again. It did cost half of her lifespan again.
Boomstick: It’s funny that her lifespan got cut in half twice and still managed to outlive Light.
Wiz: The real issue here is that she’s not really all that smart. In fact, she often makes some dumb decisions.
Boomstick: Yeah she's not the brightest Kira, pun intended. But hey, at least she’s loyal towards Light. Almost like that other guy who became X-Kira later on.
Teru Mikami[]
Wiz: That would be Teru Mikami you’re referring to Boomstick.
Boomstick: Yeah, him.
Wiz: Teru didn’t have much of a great childhood, constantly getting beaten up by the bullies of school whenever he stood up against them.
Boomstick: Not even his own mother was able to convince him to stop trying to make the world a better place and bring justice. The worst part of all, he was perfectly fine with seeing his bullies and his mum being killed during a car crash. Holy shit! This Kira worshipper is so much more deranged than Misa.
Wiz: Teru continued wishing for justice to be brought upon those who should be wiped or as he likes to say “deleted”, leading him to become a criminal prosecutor.
Boomstick: Yeah. His whole thing when writing names in the Death Note is just shouting the word “delete” at the top of his lungs. That’s right. Teru eventually got his hands on a Death Note and started to do some killings himself and, like Misa, made the Shinigami Eye deal.
Wiz: Him being a criminal prosecutor means he knows his way around the justice system where he can add even more criminals to the Death Note. However, it gets to a concerning level when he’s writing an entire page per day.
Boomstick: Not only that but that means Light or Misa would have to give one of their Death Notes to him, meaning one of them won't be able to kill for the time being. Either way, Teru does seem to be the only guy in the law to be on Kira’s side as far as his associates go.
Japanese Task Force[]
Wiz: We can’t exactly say the same about the Japanese Task Force and how they see Kira’s actions.
Boomstick: But they are very familiar with Light who recently joined them after L’s demise.
Wiz: The Japanese Task Force consists of Shuichi Aizawa, Kanzo Mogi, Touta Matsuda, Hideki Ide and of course, Light’s very own father Soichiro Yagami.
Boomstick: Together, the Task Force gains as much information and evidence for Kira’s identity as they possibly can.
Wiz: Although both L and Soichiro did eventually die, Light and the remaining members continued to push forward and avenge the two fallen members. With not only being a member of the Japanese Task Force but also being the second L, Light can get as much information on any cases that they are in the middle of solving.
Boomstick: The real downside is that not only is Light doing his secret murders with his father around but he’s still got to be careful not to expose himself to Kira in front of any member.
Wiz: This is also what led Light to his demise with the Task Force, minus his deceased father at the time, finally taking L’s suspicion into account and catching on to why Light would be a major suspect.
Boomstick: As long as no one knows who Kira is, unless we’re talking about Misa or Teru, each of these associates play a major role in Light’s risky game of cat and mouse.
Intermission[]
Wiz: Alright! The combatants are set alongside their associates and we've run the data through all possibilities! Reminder that this is a battle of wits so no 1 on 1 physical combat will be allowed until someone finds the other whether that's Heisenberg or Kira.
Boomstick: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!
Death Battle[]
It had been quite some time after the death of Gustavo Fring. The owner of Los Pollos Hermanos and one of the biggest drug kingpins had been killed by his greatest foe. Not exactly Hector Salamanca, not even anyone else in the Cartel for that matter but none other than the unknown man that goes by the name of Heisenberg. The man in question: Walter Hartwell White Sr. The man that was once nothing but an average chemistry teacher at a local high school in Albuquerque had soon become the number one kingpin in town. He felt unstoppable now that he’s running the whole drug industry. Now that Walter’s family was no longer being threatened, his wife Skyler, his teenage son Walter Jr and his infant daughter Holly were able to return home, with only one member of his family fully aware that her husband had won.
As he sat down and turned on the TV, a news report about the destruction of the nursing home where Gus had died was being presented. Walter Jr walked into the room once he heard the TV.
Walter Jr: D-did you not see this earlier? Everyone’s been talking about it a-and Uncle Hank is going to this gigantic meth lab. He thinks it was being run by Mr. Fring before he died.
Knowing that everything his son had been told happened to be true, Walter acts surprised in Hank’s hypothesis to avoid being suspected. He turns around to look at Junior face to face with a concerned look on his face which was nothing but a fake one.
Walter: Is that so? I could never see the owner of a fast food restaurant of all people being a drug kingpin.
Oblivious to his father’s lying, Junior continues their discussion about the events. Walter then turns back to face the TV.
Walter Jr: Yeah. It's crazy how so many criminals here have been killed. Maybe some of them could have been done by that guy. Y’know the one who’s somehow been killing people without being there?
Walter: I...can’t say I have no idea who it is you’re referring to, Junior.
Walter Jr: I think his name was...Kira?
Suddenly, the realization hit him. Walter had been so focused on his main goals of cooking his signature blue sky meth and raising money for his family that he had forgotten about the mass murderer that went under the name “Kira”.
Walter Jr: All I know from the news about him was that he’s from Japan.
Walter had a shocked look on him. This time, it was a genuine one. Walter did his best to keep talking but he was stuttering in the process.
Walter: A-actually. I think I...remember now. Yeah. It is Kira.
With that, Walter Jr walked back down the hallway while Walter began to worry. He didn’t think he would have to worry about Kira, especially when he’s been using an alias to hide his real name. If Walter does somehow get found out as Heisenberg by the DEA and it's revealed to everyone in the world to see, then it would only be a matter of time before the mastermind that is Kira kills him. Just as things could get worse, the next report that would be announced on the TV would be about who was now Walter’s number one concern.
News reporter: (off-screen/through the TV) As of now, the deaths caused by the infamous Kira continue to increase, numerous criminals begin to fear his wrath causing the crime to start dropping down. However, it has become apparent that Kira has also been getting a lot of love from his worshippers. We’ve also gotten word that the Japanese Task Force are getting as many law enforcements from across the world to assist them, our own law enforcements included.
At this point, Walter begins to calm himself down and give his TV a blank stare. He would not only have to continue to hide his ego and continue working in the meth business but he would also be willing to keep himself safe from the public’s biggest threat, even if that means having to find out who the person truly is in some way. Walter takes his phone out of his pocket and calls his partner in crime and former high school student Jesse Pinkman.
Walter: Jesse.
Jesse: (through the phone) Yo Mr. White. What’s up?
Walter: Gus may be dead but we’ve got a bigger threat that we should’ve considered a while ago.
Jesse: (through the phone) Who?
After a short pause, Walter reveals to Jesse who this “bigger threat is”.
Walter: It’s Kira. We need to act quickly before he finds us first. Good news is that the Albuquerque police, including the DEA are on the case with the Japanese Task Force.
There was nothing but silence. It seems that Jesse has been stunned by Walter’s next goal.
Jesse: You crazy! Do you not know what that twisted bitch is capable of-
Walter: I know Jesse but…it’s the only way we can prevent ourselves from his wrath. We may need some extra help but for now, we’ll discuss this first thing tomorrow morning.
With that, Walter hangs up the phone and turns off the TV. He slowly gets up and walks down the hallway.
Somewhere located in Tokyo, the Japanese Task Force still has yet to solve the Kira Case. Although they’ve lost one of the greatest detectives known as L who recently died of a heart attack, Soichiro Yagami, Shuichi Aizawa, Touta Matsuda and Kanzo Mogi continue to push forward and even bring in a recruit. This new recruit to the Task Force was Soichiro’s own son Light Yagami. Although they all agree that Light should become the “New L”, there’s one thing that no one else knows: Light Yagami is Kira and that L was right about it all along. In other words, Light is working on an investigation where the person to be caught is himself.
As Light went into his room alongside the Second Kira, Misa Amane, Light was being talked to by Ryuk, the shinigami who was the owner of the Death Note that Light wields and is only being seen by Light and Misa as of now.
Ryuk: So you’re becoming the New L huh? Strange how you’re taking the lead in a case where the killer is yourself.
While Ryuk grabs an apple and takes a bite out of it, Light gives a response.
Light: Doesn’t matter. I can still kill as many criminals as I please without the rest of the Task Force knowing. Besides, I can always get Misa to do the work for me if I can’t do it myself.
After Light’s comment, Misa’s eyes were immediately directed towards the man that called himself the “God of the New World”.
Misa: Of course! Anything for you Light.
All Light had was a straight face, being completely serious about the position he’s in. It wouldn’t take long for Misa to ask Light about something he never expected.
Misa: So even this Heisenberg guy that’s been talked about for a few days?
Light and Ryuk: Huh?
Both Light and Ryuk were struck by confusion. Light has killed many people daily since he got his hands on the Death Note but he doesn’t exactly recall anyone by the name of Heisenberg. Along with this question brought some interest in the two, especially Ryuk since he didn’t think there would be much to look forward to watching now that L is gone. Misa then proceeds to give Light a laptop that shows a news article about Heisenberg and why he’s been talked about.
Misa: It turns out that some guy from New Mexico has been cooking some blue meth which was only found in that state. However, it seems that it’s started to be sent across a few other areas including Tokyo.
All of this information intrigued Light even more. A man who’s drugs have been sold and spread across the globe even if it’s only a few countries? Not only that but the man behind the alias is currently unknown by all law enforcements across the globe. Now this is something he didn’t expect out of his life of being Kira.
Light: Is that so? Well, I guess it can’t hurt to figure out who truly is the one who calls himself Heisenberg. If it gets me one step closer to being God of the New World, then challenge accepted.
(Music Fades Out)
Moments later, the Task Force gets a call that was being made in the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico. No one said a word until Matsuda spoke up.
Matsuda: That’s odd. Why would anyone from New Mexico of all places be calling?
Aizawa: Maybe it’s the city’s police calling. After all, we are trying to gather up others from different nations of the world to help us out with finding Kira.
Mogi: Are we just gonna leave it be or what?
Finally, Soichiro speaks up for everyone.
Soichiro: Everyone settle. I doubt there would be anyone else calling besides their law enforcements.
Agreeing to his father’s words, Light starts to walk over to the phone ready to answer as the second L. As he answers, Light makes the first response.
Light: Hello?
It didn’t take long for him to get a response from the other person on the phone.
???: (through the phone) Hey! Is this the Japanese Task Force or L to be specific?
Light: It is.
The person who made the call to the Japanese Task Force was none other than a DEA agent from Albuquerque known as Hank Schrader. Hank has decided to take charge in his country’s side of the Kira case despite his own position in the law.
Hank: Great! This is ASAC Schrader. I’m a member of the law from Albuquerque, New Mexico particularly a member of the DEA. I’m here to let you know on behalf of the rest of our forces that we’d all be happy to assist you and your fellow Task Force members on the Kira case.
Light had a calm face yet he thought to himself about everything Misa had just told him about Heisenberg. Not only was this the same town Heisenberg was residing but the guy that was taking charge of Albuquerque’s behalf of assisting in the Kira case was a member of the DEA.
Light: (in his mind) Albuquerque? DEA? Isn’t that the same location that Heisenberg is selling all of that blue meth?
After that thought, Light responded back while representing himself as L. Hank and the rest of the Albuquerque police had been waiting for a response.
Light: That’s great news. We appreciate all of your help.
Hank: Hey no problem L. I’m sure the rest of the Japanese Task Force is getting a lot of excellent help over in Japan from the world's greatest detective but I'm sure even you need some help yourself every now and then.
With the rest of the Task Force listening over the conversation between Light and Hank, Light had a smile spreading across his face knowing this could really help with adding Heisenberg to his long list of victims. Hank then proceeds to continue the discussion. However, it didn’t exactly have anything to do with Kira but more so about another certain criminal mastermind.
Hank: It only makes sense that the two countries currently dealing with a dangerous criminal in their local area work together right?
Hank proceeds to chuckle after what he had said. Everyone besides Light had no idea what this ‘ASAC Schrader’ guy was talking about. What did he mean by “two countries currently dealing with a dangerous criminal in their local area”?
Mogi: Another criminal? Is he implying that there’s another Kira all the way in New Mexico?
Light proceeds to respond with one question.
Light: Interesting. I never thought that Albuquerque would have another Kira on their hands if that’s what you’re referring to.
Hank gave Light a reason for what he had said earlier.
Hank: Well I wouldn’t say another Kira but a certain drug kingpin. The DEA and I are currently dealing with a guy who calls himself Heisenberg.
Across the Task Force’s side, Light’s eyes opened more widely the moment Hank mentioned Heisenberg’s presence. His smile then turned into a grin.
Light: (in his mind) This is the same place Heisenberg comes from.
Before Light could think anymore, Matsuda chimes in.
Matsuda: Oh yeah. I remember hearing some talk about that guy. Some of the blue crystal meth he’s been cooking has made its way into Japan.
Soichiro: Well we can’t have criminals just dropping like flies but we also can’t have our streets being infiltrated with illegal substances. If it means getting both of our biggest threats behind bars, then we’d be happy to help. Everyone else on board with that?
Hank: (through phone) You sure? It would be difficult to give as much evidence as possible and we wouldn’t want to force you guys to travel all the way to Albuquerque just for all of that evidence but we’ll leave you guys to it.
Light: No problem. Well, let's discuss it now.
Light puts the phone on mute so he can get a verdict from the others.
Light: Well they seem willing to help us and we could return the favour by catching the guy who’s been going under the name Heisenberg but I don’t want to jump right in without a majority vote. What do you guys reckon?
As everyone in the Task Force looked at each other and nodded in agreement, the decision was final. Both Kira as well as Heisenberg will be brought to justice. Back over at Albuquerque, Hank was waiting for a response from “L”.
Light: (through phone) Our decision has been made. We’d be glad to give some assistance in the Heisenberg case in return for you guys helping with the Kira case and we’re all willing to make our way to Albuquerque so we can work face to face with each other.
Hank: Wonderful! We appreciate the help. We’ll meet again when you arrive here.
With that, Hank and Light’s call comes to an end. Light proceeds to think to himself again.
Light: (in his mind) Heh. This whole Heisenberg thing is already getting way too easy.
Behind Light was Ryuk chuckling to himself. At last, he had something interesting to look forward to ever since Light’s victory over L
Ryuk: Things are about to get a whole lot more interesting again.
Act 1
[]
In the middle of a desert located in Mexico, two cars were driving in the opposite direction, getting close to each other before pulling over. Walter and Jesse got out of their car while the person driving the other just so happened to be Gus Fring’s employee, Mike Ehrmantraut. With a furious look on his face knowing who caused Gus’ death, he immediately points his gun towards Walter. Jesse takes action and gets in the way before Mike pulls the trigger.
Jesse: Wait a second Mike! Let him talk!
Mike: Son of a bitch. I’m done listening to this asshole now get out of the way Jesse!
Jesse: He’s got some serious shit we’ve got to deal with!
No matter what Jesse was trying to do to stop any bullets from flying, Mike was still prepared to fire at Walter.
Walter: Now hold on a second Mike-
Before Walter can explain, Mike cuts him off.
Mike: One more word!
Jesse: If you kill him, you’re gonna have to kill me but listen! It’s about Kira!
The moment he heard the name “Kira”, Mike immediately lowered the gun. Walter gets in front of Jesse and speaks about why Jesse is even mentioning the infamous serial killer.
Walter: Whatever differences you and I have we’ll keep but right now we’ve got bigger fish to fry, Kira to be exact.
Mike had no idea what the point of bringing up Kira of all things had to do with Gus’ demise, let alone anything related to the meth business.
Mike: The hell does Kira have to do with all of this?
Walter: We’re all criminals at this point and Kira has somehow managed to kill people even without being there. On top of that, Gus kept video cameras on us in the lab and the laundry, including yourself. If the police get to it first and news reports are made, it will only be a matter of time before Kira has all of us in coffins.
All Mike could do in this scenario was shake his head in disappointment. Walter having conflict with Gus was one thing but an international threat was ridiculous.
Walter: It’s all on tape or a hard drive. Where?
At last, Mike finally agreed to help Walter and Jesse with the whole “Kira situation” and how they need to get rid of all of the evidence before it’s too late. He gave Walter an answer about where Gus kept all records of the footage that was caught on camera.
Mike: On a laptop in his office...at the back of the restaurant.
Mike proceeds to make his way to Walter’s car and make a hand gesture which was a way of telling Walter to give him the keys. Walter throws his car key to Mike and gets into the car with the other two getting in. Before making their way back to Albuquerque, Walter has one thing to say. Back in Albuquerque, the trio are currently sitting inside Jesse's house with Walter impatiently waiting for his call to be answered.
Walter: Come on. Pick up.
At last, the phone is answered. On the other side of the call is none other than Walter’s lawyer Saul Goodman. Saul was simply relaxing with a cup of coffee sitting on his desk, not a single client to help with up until this moment.
Saul: Yeah?
Walter: (through the phone) Saul. We need your help. It’s an emergency.
Saul: Hold on. Isn’t Gus dead?
Walter: (through the phone) Yes but we’ve got bigger issues right now.
Saul: Oh yeah?
Saul proceeds to take a sip out of his coffee cup while Walter proceeds to talk and give as much information on the issue as possible.
Walter: There’s still evidence of us back at the lab, the biggest piece being a laptop full of tapes of us, and I’m positive the DEA’s gotten their hands on it all and you know the whole Kira situation the world is dealing with right now?
Although Saul had no idea why Walter even brought up Kira to begin with, he had some curiosity about it. He proceeds to take another sip of coffee.
Saul: What? You think I’m like Patrick Star and living under a rock? Of course I know about Kira. Why do you ask?
Walter: (through the phone) Well the thing is, we’re trying to find the guy who’s been calling himself Kira.
Saul ends up choking on his coffee, shocked at Walter’s plan to go head to head with a dangerous murderer such as Kira.
Saul: Are you serious? Do you even know how he’s able to kill his victims? For crying out loud, he doesn’t even have to be in the same room to do it! It’s almost like some form of telekinesis. Once the criminal is on the TV, BAM! Dead from a heart attack!
The scene cuts back to Walter who is seen standing in the middle of Jesse’s living room. Jesse and Mike listen closely to Saul’s side of the call through Walter’s phone.
Walter: Yes. I know but as long as he doesn’t know who Heisenberg is, everything will be fine for now. How do we deal with this?
Saul: (through the phone) Alright look. Obviously, you’ve got to find a way to get rid of the evidence.
Walter: And how are we exactly going to be able to do that if the DEA has it?
As Walter raises that question, Jesse comes up with an idea on how to destroy the evidence.
Jesse: Why not a magnet?
The room is completely silent, both Walter and Mike turn to Jesse in confusion?
Walter: A magnet?
Jesse explains further with hand signals on why a magnet would work. Walter and Mike look back at each other, knowing that this is probably the best way to rid the evidence.
Walter: Alright. I guess we’re using a magnet but what about everything else? What if Kira still finds even just the littlest of evidence?
Saul: (through the phone) Just destroy the laptop and everything else first and we’ll go from there. I’ll think of something.
Walter: Make it quick alright?
With that, Walter hangs up the phone. All three men leave the house in search of a magnet strong enough to have the DEA’s as well as Kira’s path of finding Heisenberg come to a complete stop or at least for a while.
At the Albuquerque Airport, Light and the rest of the Task Force arrive in the small city at last. Each of them gets a good look at the place before their taxis arrive.
Ide: So this is the place huh? Can’t believe a place like this would be full of drug dealers, kingpins for that matter.
Mogi: Tell me about it. Why here of all places?
Before anyone could comment on anything else about the city they’ve just arrived in, Soichiro speaks up and keeps everyone focused.
Soichiro: We can explore later. Let’s all remember why we’re here in Albuquerque.
Light chimes in and agrees to his father’s words. However, he continues to act like he is truly innocent in front of everyone.
Light: Couldn’t agree more. Unless we’re given some spare time, it’s best that we all focus on catching both Kira and Heisenberg.
Two taxis arrive for the Japanese Task Force who all split up and get into a taxi each. After a time skip to the evening, the Task Force made it to the building where the entire Albuquerque Police Department including ASAC Schrader were waiting for them. Light and the others aside from Misa who was waiting at the hotel where the Task Force would be staying entered the building where they were greeted by Hank.
Hank: Ay! Welcome. I’m ASAC Hank Schrader. Pleased to meet you all. Make yourselves comfortable.
(Music Fades Out)
After some quick introductions, both police departments sit around a table to discuss the current status of the cases of Kira and Heisenberg. There was a lot of intriguing news from both sides.
Hank: Recently we figured out that a man that goes by the name of Gustavo Fring had a giant meth lab underneath a laundromat named Lavandería Brillante. He’s dead now and the place has become nothing but ruins. What we did find in regards to the lab were two bodies and a few destroyed securities cameras. The funny thing about all of this is this is the same guy who was the owner of a local fast food restaurant called Los Pollos Hermanos which is where we found a laptop which may have some footage from the cameras.
After all of that information, the Task Force had started giving their thoughts.
Matsuda: But why would an owner of a fast food restaurant want to build a meth lab? Was the restaurant nothing but a way to hide proof that he was a drug kingpin the whole time?
Hank’s fellow DEA agent Steve Gomez gives an answer to Matsuda’s question.
Gomez: Maybe so but we don’t know for sure. No doubt Heisenberg had something to do with all of this up until Fring’s death and the lab’s destruction.
Light was getting a good amount of information on this case, thinking things could possibly get easier from there.
Light: (in his mind) Heisenberg’s got some neat tricks up his sleeve but no matter. I can get past this. After all, I was the one who defeated L.
Later that night after Hank and the DEA had just left, a truck drove through the parking lot of the department. The truck just so happened to be driven by Walter and Jesse who had a magnet in the back of the truck and were completely dressed in black clothing, ready to destroy whatever evidence was found by the DEA.
Jesse: It’s 8 feet away. Is this cool?
Walter: It will work. Now let’s see how Kira as well as the DEA will get anywhere from here.
Walter slowly turns the magnet’s power before anything happens right away. Inside, a guard is sitting at his desk before his laptop is disabled. Light and the others were just about to head off to the hotel until they all hear some ruckus occuring in the Evidence Room, alarms beginning to go off while it happens. The guard was having a hard time trying to get into the room since the ID scanner wasn’t working thanks to the magnet.
Back outside, Jesse warns Walter and tells him that they should start going before they get caught. Walter wasn’t willing to take his advice and continue raising the magnet’s power.
Jesse: Let’s go Mr. White.
Walter: Hang on. Just one minute.
Walter immediately turns the magnet into full power which causes the truck to tilt a bit on its side. Back inside, Light asks the guard about what was going on at the moment.
Light: What’s going on?
Guard: I don’t know. The door’s not even budging. I think it’s coming from outside.
Upon hearing this, Light gives out orders.
Light: Okay then. Dad, Matsuda and Mogi will take a lot outside. Aizawa and I will stay here and check the Evidence Room. The guard begins to use his keys instead and opens the door once Light and Aizawa arrive in the area. The three are soon witnessing every bit of evidence, stuck to the way which the magnet was pulling everything towards.
Aizawa: What the hell?
Before the others could make it outside, Jesse urges Walter to turn the magnet off and get out of the scene before it’s too late.
Jesse: Turn it off!
Walter proceeds to turn off the magnet which causes the evidence to drop to the ground, the majority of it breaking into pieces in the process. Light, Aizawa and the guard were just standing there in confusion while Ryuk, still not being seen aside from Light, had his usual smile spreading across his face. Outside, Soichiro and the other two made their way outside and spotted the truck. Upon looking inside, no one was inside. It turns out Mike got Walter and Jesse out of there in time.
Jesse: Yeah bitch!
While Jesse was celebrating the success of the crew’s plan, Mike cut him off immediately.
Mike: What are you celebrating for? We left the truck behind!
Walter speaks up and reminds them of the reasoning behind the whole plan.
Walter: We made sure there was no prints or paperwork along with no other forms of traceable evidence. That should be enough to stop the DEA from tracking us.
Back at the department, the Task Force takes a good look at the ruined evidence. All of them were disappointed now that they’ve got no lead to finding Heisenberg any time soon.
Light: Damnit. That seems to be everything the DEA had found. Now we’ve got barely anything.
Ryuk chuckles behind Light about the misfortunes the Task Force had just witnessed before their very eyes.
Ryuk: This Heisenberg guy’s pretty good.
Soichiro finally speaks after a short period of silence.
Soichiro: It looks Heisenberg had a feeling there would still be some evidence that would eventually lead to him.
Ide: Guess we’re now dealing with someone who plans a few steps ahead of the law. Just great.
Light: (in his mind) Heisenberg. You’ve made a grave mistake challenging the God of the New World.
Act 2
[]
Back at the hotel, Light was in his room sitting on his bed with Misa next to him. He was still disappointed about how only very few bits of evidence connected to Heisenberg remained. Ryuk was standing in the corner with an apple which was being tossed into the air.
Ryuk: Well Light. I’d say we’re off to a good start.
Light: Maybe that’s because you don’t have to do anything about it. I’m here taking charge on the Japanese Task Force’s side of these two cases.
Despite Light being in a bad mood about the incident, Misa tried to encourage him to cheer up but even that wasn’t enough.
Misa: Come on Light. I’m sure things will get better from here.
Light: All I can say is that at least there was still some evidence not in pieces after everything.
Ryuk: Really now?
Light: From what we can tell, Heisenberg had a huge magnet hidden in the back of a truck which would be strong enough to grab ahold of whatever was found in the meth lab that this Fring guy that Schrader mentioned earlier today. It may have destroyed the laptop and the tapes that showed everyone who was involved.
Misa: So that’s everything gone?
Ryuk: Pretty much.
Light: Still not a lot to work with. One thing’s for sure, Heisenberg was definitely working with Fring at the time.
Light proceeds to stand up and continue his part of the discussion.
Light: The good news however is that it wasn’t everything on Heisenberg. He’s been in the meth business for a while even before working for the biggest kingpin in town. There’s still a high chance of deducting who he is.
Before continuing on, Light looks down at the window in disgust as he gets a beautiful view of Albuquerque.
Light: And once he’s found, I’ll write his name in the Death Note as well as anyone else working alongside him. Once Heisenberg is gone, there will be no one in my way of becoming God of the New World.
Light continues to look through the window which shows his reflection. Through this reflection, Light can be seen with red eyes which shows his true nature outside of a member of the Task Force. While Misa walks out of Light’s room, Ryuk finishes up with eating his apple.
Later that night, Saul introduces Walter and his crew to a potential new cook site: Vamanos Pests. This was a good sign for Walter. He had already lost most of his money which meant he had no other choice but to start cooking meth again to earn it all back. There’s nothing but complete silence in the room. Saul has a feeling what the answer will be to this suggestion.
Saul: I get it. Just say “no” and we’ll go get dinner.
Walter: It’s perfect.
The others are confused on why Walter thinks a place like this is “perfect”. It led to some questions being raised with Jesse having the more important one.
Jesse: How are we going to set a lab here?
Walter turns to Jesse and gives an answer, one that was unexpected. He responds by kicking a fumigation tent before speaking.
Walter: Who says “here”?
The next day, the tent is placed over a small two-story house as the four watch from within Saul’s car. Walter then proceeds to explain his plan while all of this was happening.
Walter: A house is infested with termites, cockroaches…whatever. Truck loads up, the owners leave. The crew tents the house and bombs the place with poison and the house stays like that for days. There’s a strange smell but does someone plan to investigate? No.
Mike begins to speak up for the others and asks something that should’ve been asked a while ago.
Mike: Yeah but what about Kira? Isn’t it bad enough that we’re all in a game of Cat and Mouse against him? I thought the idea was that we were supposed to seem innocent until he’s caught.
Walter: I figured you would ask. Kira is known for trying to get the name and face of whoever he decides to kill and judging by the recent murders that have occurred here in Albuquerque, it’s possible that he might be here. How else could he get any info about Heisenberg? If that’s true and if he does decide to investigate for whatever reason, it may make things a whole lot easier from here.
Jesse: So we gotta go in the lab, cook and take everything down.
Walter: It’s challenging but it’s definitely doable and no matter what time he gets there, either we may be able to stop him before he gets the chance to take us out one by one or we’ll be out of there by the time that happens.
In the DEA’s office, both police forces gather up and give some quick updates on the Kira-Heisenberg case. Despite what had happened last night, there was surely something else that Hank and Gomez had.
Hank: So last night wasn’t the best way to kick things off but hey, we’ve still got some stuff to go over. Unfortunately, we had a few criminals here in Albuquerque die overnight.
This caught the Task Force’s attention with Light being the only one knowing who was behind those murders. Still, he had to act calm about it and hide his more sinister ego. Despite most of those deaths happening in the same town they were currently residing in, none of them were surprised to know who was the one causing those criminals to drop like flies.
Mogi: Think we already know that this was Kira’s cause. That’s for sure.
Hank: However, we’ve got some good news about good ol’ Heisenberg. We may not have found him just yet but there’s something else we’ve got. We’ve been keeping a close eye on someone.
Gomez gives Hank a small stack of files which reveal to have some identification on Mike.
Hank: His name is Mike Ehrmantraut. He’s a major suspect in the whole “Fring” situation and that might also mean he had some connection to Heisenberg.
Light picks up the files and starts looking through them. He was intrigued by the information he had just gotten but it was not for the reason anyone else in the room would suspect. It was also revealed that there were others who were helping with keeping Gus’ empire a secret, making Light more fascinated.
Light: (in his mind) This is perfect. I’ve got the names and faces of some of Heisenberg’s members. However, I can’t just kill Ehrmantraut right away since it will make me more suspicious of being Kira. Besides, we don’t even know if he was really working for Fring.
Light focuses back to the meeting and hands the papers to the other Task Force members. Each of them were thinking of how useful this would be in order to bring Heisenberg to justice. Since the DEA was able to provide them some possibilities on finding Heisenberg, it would probably be best for them to hand over a list of suspects of who Kira could be in return.
Light: Well since you did give us some things on Heisenberg. I think it’s only fair if we hand over some Kira suspects.
Everyone else on the Task Force was shocked to hear those words. It would be a good idea to give the Albuquerque Police some way of helping them take down Heisenberg but giving them a list of suspects for a serial killer that could be anyone, even Light himself as L first predicted, might be a bit too far.
Matsuda: Seriously? We’re already going to tell them who could possibly be Kira?
Soichiro: Light, do you really want to do that right away?
Despite the Task Force’s response, Light was going to do all he can to get as much evidence on Heisenberg he can get his hands on. Besides, it wasn’t like Light was still on that list since L didn’t consider him a suspect right before he died and was proven wrong.
Light: Look guys. We don’t have a lot of time left. There are people still dying out there because of Kira’s actions. If we want to catch both Kira or Heisenberg for that matter, we have to use all we can find out about them. If we catch Kira, he’s evil. If he rules the world, he is justice. Plus, we can’t let him catch Heisenberg. If Kira kills him before we can put him behind bars, we may never know who he was until we realise he’s dead.
The room was completely silent after Light’s speech. They were left speechless until Hank spoke.
Hank: Well. If you guys want to take the boy’s words, that’s fine. Up to you.
Light turns around to the others who nod their heads in agreement which signals him to hand over their list of suspects.
Hank: Alright. Great meeting. We’ll see you guys soon. Take care.
As Light and the Task Force make their way out of the building, Hank calls out to Gomez to discuss something that’s been going on in his mind.
Hank: Hey Agent Gomez. I’ve got something to tell in regards to the whole “Kira” side of things.
Gomez: What did you want to say?
Hank: I...uhh...don’t want to jump right to conclusions right away but I think I have a good feeling on who Kira is.
Gomez sighed in disappointment. There was a high chance he could be doing exactly what he did when having suspicions on Gus. It couldn’t have been possible for a DEA agent from New Mexico to have already come to the conclusion of who Kira could be.
Gomez: This again, Schrader?
Hank: I’m not saying it’s 100 percent accurate. I could be wrong about it. However, I’m starting to get a good image of it all, especially now.
Act 3
[]
Walter and Jesse can be seen wearing hazmat suits as they put their masks over their face before they begin cooking some meth inside their new tented lab located in an “infested” house. With a few chemicals mixed, the blue sky meth was successfully being created with its usual 99.1% purity. The light blue liquid that would soon be frozen covered the trays where they would be placed. Whilst waiting for the liquid to become solid, Walter and Jesse sat in the living room drinking a bottle of beer each and watching the latest news about Kira. After a while, the two get back to the meth and start breaking the solid surface into small pieces of crystal meth which would soon be sold. Both began filling multiple plastic bags with the meth they’ve just cooked and placed into one large pile. After the work was done, both left the house and got a lift to the Vamanos office in a truck owned by the company.
(Music Cuts)
A few days have past and Mike has provided Walter and Jesse with three separate piles of cash after the meth had been sold, leaving each to have $367,000 each. However, there was still some splitting to do between each of those piles.
Mike: Now Ira gets 110 for our piece of the business and 25 per cook. That’s 45 from each of us. Ira’s guys get 10 per cook and Goodman’s cut should be $18 000 from each. Lastly, a legacy cost of $351 000 which now leaves us at $117 000 each.
While Mike discusses how much the rest of Walter’s crew are getting paid, he starts taking sections of the three piles of money and tosses them into a bag. Walter looked down at the pile of money which was now getting smaller than what it just was with a blank look which just showed how much it was irritating him. He only had one question for Mike after hearing the words “legacy cost”.
Walter: I’m sorry. Legacy cost?
Mike: I’ve got nine guys from the previous operation who know a lot. Most of them are now in jail and more will be soon.
Despite Mike’s reason, Walter doesn’t seem fond of giving his money to those that were helping Gus and were now behind bars.
Walter: These were Gus’ employees, not ours. What are they doing to further our interest?
Mike: The DEA are looking very closely at them and we don’t want to reveal anything. If you don’t want Kira to know that you’re Heisenberg once the word gets out, paying them is what we should do.
Walter: So we’re paying them to keep their mouths shut? That’s it?
Mike: Listen here Walter. All of things falling apart…is ON YOU!
Knowing that this is going to escalate and make things worse, Jesse tries to get their attention and have their argument come to an end.
Jesse: Guys!
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work and the two continue.
Walter: You screw and your guys become suspects of the DEA, maybe you as well at some point, and it’s suddenly all my fault!
Mike: We had Fring keeping things undercover! We had a real lab with everything we needed and it all ran perfectly. It was perfect but you had to blow it up, all thanks to your pride and your ego. If you shut your mouth, cooked and made as much money as you could dream of, we'd all be fine right now. First it was Fring and now you want to challenge a crazy son of a bitch such as Kira. The worst part is that you’re dragging all of us down with you.
Walter: What else would you like us to do about Kira? Sit around and wait for him to pick us off one by one?!
Mike: Seriously, Walter! He can kill criminals such as us without standing right in front them! What more can we do?! The best we can do is lay low and hope that he doesn’t find out about any of us!
Walter: And what about your guys?
Mike stops arguing the second Walter mentions his guys, confused. All of a sudden, he had no idea how to respond to what he just heard.
Mike: What about them?
After gaining back a little bit of relaxation about the situation, Walter gives an explanation.
Walter: If Kira manages to get ahold of whatever information they tell the DEA in one way or another, chances are it could not only link towards myself, Jesse and whoever else is still standing after Gus’ demise but you could also be at risk of being killed too.
Mike sighed in defeat knowing that Walter was right and would have to continue working with him until the Kira situation had come to an end. He looks at the kingpin with a cold stare and gives him a clear response.
Mike: If I’m still alive by the time Kira has been caught, it will be the last time I’ll be working with you. After that, I’m out of the business. Got it?
With nothing but silence in the room, Walter grudgingly nods. The trio take their money and head off for the day. While Walter and Mike didn’t seem pleased with the situation, Jesse could only shake his head in disappointment. Suddenly, Mike gets a call which he answers.
Mike: Yeah?
The caller just so happens to be Saul who gives him some bad news in regards to the DEA.
Saul: (through the phone) Hey. Uhh...got some bad news. The DEA’s still got suspicions of you and they’d like to have a word. However, I know how to get you out of this.
Mike: Alright. I’m on my way.
As Mike hangs up, he gets into his car and drives away despite Walter and Jesse’s curiosity.
Light and Hank walk into an interrogation room while everyone else waits outside. Following them along was none other than Mike and Saul. Both oppositions take their places on opposite sides of the table placed in the middle of the room.
Hank: So what do we owe the pleasure?
Saul: Well we’re here to discuss your illegal harassment of my client. Mr. Ehrmantraut has become a subject of an unwarranted persecution.
Hank lets out a chuckle at Saul’s statement while both Mike and Light blankly look at each other, neither being impressed with each other.
Hank: Ay Yagami? Does that sound right to you?
Light calmly responds to Hank’s question, unfazed with Saul’s claim.
Light: No clue what he means by that. After all, his client is a suspect of Fring’s operation so it should be alright for the DEA to keep a close eye.
Saul: Play it as cool as you like Columbo. We all know that you’ve been following my client day and night. Can’t even spend a few minutes with his own granddaughter without you guys peeking at him with your binoculars. It’s disturbing and it’s affected his health, both mental and physical.
Light and Hank look at each other for a brief moment before looking back at Mike who still has a straight face, still unamused with what Saul had to say.
Light: He seems fine to me. Any comments, ASAC?
Hank: Doesn’t seem affected.
Saul: Some hurts can only be seen on the inside right? Suppose you don’t have warrants for these tales either?
Light: That would be completely within the bounds of the law as far as my knowledge on the law in Albuquerque goes. The police should still have every right to investigate your client.
Saul: That is theoretically correct Officer Yagami, was it? However, that can be countered as unrestricted surveillance which would be referred to as stalking which is why a restraining order will be filed.
Hank, now getting annoyed by Saul, begins to question his legal practice.
Hank: Where did you get your law degree, Goodman? The same clown college you got that suit? Might need some good advice from my good friend over here about them.
Saul: You know who likes this suit? Judge Pappadoumian and y’know what she hates? Police harassment of a senior citizen.
Light: (in his mind) Who does he think he is? Some comedian? This Saul Goodman guy is trickier than expected.
As Light’s thought comes to an end, Hank continues negotiation with Saul and Mike about the whole “harassment” situation and wanting answers out of Mike.
Hank: Cut the bullshit and tell us everything. I get it. Everyone’s worried about Kira right now but we’ve got the Japanese Task Force working alongside us. On top of that, your confession will be kept away from the public.
Now that the room was silent, Saul questions Light’s role in regards to the case.
Saul: So you’re out there doing all you can to bring Kira to justice?
Light: Correct. In return, the Task Force and I are helping the DEA with the Heisenberg case. The quicker they are both captured for good, the better it is for everyone.
Saul: Well I wish you the best of luck. In the meantime, we’re out of here.
Saul and Mike stand up and begin walking out of the door. Hank goes to speak in order to get them to stay but Light gives him a signal as a way of stopping him.
Light: Forget it. There’s no point.
With their failed interrogation done, Hank and Light make their way out and back to the meeting room.
(Music Fades Out)
Hank: Don’t worry too much about Goodman, Kiddo. He’s usually got a big mouth on him. You should see his commercials. They suck ass.
Hank puts on a smile after insulting Saul’s commercials. Light then begins to speak up which causes him to have a straight face.
Light: I may not be too fond of Goodman’s antics but we’ll have to wait from this point and see what Kira has in store next.
Outside of the DEA building, Mike and Saul make their way to the lawyer’s 1997 Cadillac DeVille.
Mike: So the DEA and Japanese Task Force are working side by side, eh?
Saul: Yep. Walt and Jesse are going to love hearing this.
Walter can be seen staring into blank space in his office until he’s interrupted by a Vamanos employee named Todd Alquist. He interrupts by asking if Walter was doing okay.
Todd: Mr. White? Sir? Is everything okay?
Walter’s vision is back in reality when Todd questions him. He gets up out of his seat and faces the young man.
Walter: Um…yeah. Everything’s fine. What is it?
Todd: Mr. Ehrmantraut is back. He’s got some news from what I’ve been told. I thought that you would like to know.
Walter nods as a way of saying “thank you” and makes it way out of the office. Mike and Saul were currently waiting outside as Walter walked out of the garage door.
Walter: So how did it go?
Saul: Well let’s get to the good news first. It turns out the Japanese Task Force is residing here in Albuquerque so it might be possible that Kira is hiding in this town. Not guaranteed but that very little possibility is still there. Unfortunately, that leads us to the bad news of this situation.
Mike: Not only would that mean Kira might have an easier way of killing us when we least expected but the Task Force themselves are working side by side with the DEA to find you as well. Let me remind you that they are also working with one of the greatest detectives out there.
Walter’s face didn’t show much but deep inside, he was fascinated with this news despite the flaws. While Kira could get information on Heisenberg a lot easier, that could potentially mean that he could kill him just as easily if he manages to find out who he is. What might make this better is that his own brother-in-law could have some evidence on the Kira Case. Walter gives some feedback on his newly received information.
Walter: So it seems that both of these enforcements are working side by side to catch the biggest criminals out there. Well things just got a whole lot more interesting. However, nothing stops this train until the job is done. We’ll pick things up from here tomorrow.
With that, Walter’s empire was done for the day. While everyone else at the Vamanos office drove off in their own vehicles, Walter stayed back for a few minutes to lock the door behind him. As Walter makes his way home, he unexpectedly gets a call. He picks up the phone expecting the caller to be either Jesse or Skyler but instead, it just so happened to be Hank.
Hank: (through the phone) Hey Walt! How are you doing?
Walter: Doing just fine. What’s happening?
Hank: (through the phone) There’s a lot going on at work right now and you and the others won’t believe what I have to say. I’m gonna have to tell you when we all meet up tonight.
Walter: Really? I’m looking forward to what you have to say. Well I best be going. I’m on my way back home so I’ll see you tonight.
Hank: (through the phone) Will do. Take care buddy.
Walter hangs up the phone with a grin on his face, knowing exactly what Hank meant by “a lot going on at work”. Things were now starting to get a little bit easier for him. As he drove down the street where the “contaminated” homes were, Light was seen walking down at the exact same time. However, none of them noticed them at all despite the fact that they had just gone past the guy they’ve been trying to outsmart in their game of Cat and Mouse. Tagging along with Light on his walk was Ryuk who still had his usual smile.
Ryuk: Well that interrogation seemed fun. That “Saul” guy had quite an interesting personality for a lawyer.
Light: Tell me about it and Schrader wasn’t lying about those commercials. It doesn’t take words to describe how awful they were.
Light’s attention was turned to something that caught his eye. Ryuk turned the same direction Light was facing and spotted the tented houses. At first, it seemed like nothing to him aside from a few houses infested with pests but something crossed his mind.
Ryuk: Eh? You seriously think a few homes taken over by some bugs or rats will help you with finding Heisenberg? Maybe they are just infested homes.
Light: That is possible but this could be about something different. It is possible that this could be used to hide a drug lab. The other homes there might just be there as a way of hiding the real destination of that lab.
Ryuk was impressed with Light’s brilliant intelligence as per usual. It was incredible how he could make deductions with just the smallest amount of evidence.
Light: I think I might be getting closer to bringing Heisenberg to justice. We should probably start heading back to the hotel now. It’s starting to get a bit dark out here now.
Ryuk: Sounds good to me. Looking forward to eating another one of those apples as well as the next meeting of course.
As the sun began setting, Light and Ryuk turned back and walked back to the hotel where the Task Force were staying.
Act 4
[]
Hank: Check this out Walt. You’re gonna love this.
Inside the master bedroom, Hank takes out a cardboard box and places it in front of Walter. Instead of minerals or anything related to Heisenberg, it was some evidence in regards to the Kira case. Now things are starting to get easier. There it was right in front of him; pieces of evidence that can be used for finding Kira. He’s just lucky that Hank still hasn’t figured out that his own brother-in-law is the kingpin he’s been trying to track down.
Hank: It was a good thing that the Task Force were generous enough to hand over some evidence. It’s only a matter of time until Kira and Heisenberg will be seeing the inside of a jail cell.
Walter: We’re all rooting for you guys.
Walter gives Hank a fake smile while still trying to hide his ego. Hank lends him a list of recent victims from Albuquerque that Kira had gotten rid of.
Walter: So it’s possible that Kira might be here?
Walter’s hypothesis left Hank in confusion, having no idea how that could be true.
Hank: Really? What makes you think that?
Walter: I see. The chances of that being true do seem pretty high. After all, most of these victims seem to be from Albuquerque. While it is true that Kira is from Japan as far as we know of his origin, it’s possible that he could’ve figured out that the police from our home city and the Japanese Task Force are working side by side, even if that means travelling here is the best option.
Hank couldn’t believe how convincing Walter’s reasoning was. Out of anyone he’s talked about with this case, he was never expecting Walter of all people to think of something like that. It would make some sense considering he was one of, if not, the smartest person Hank knew.
Hank: Well what do you know? You might be onto something Walt. Still the same old brainiac as always. Maybe we should let you tag along on both cases.
Hank and Walter chuckle at the joke of Walter taking part in the Kira and Heisenberg cases.
Walter: I can’t imagine I could handle the stress. If that is true and Kira really is here, that could put the police at a high risk.
Hank: Guess that’s true. Speaking of which, it gets a lot better from here.
Hank reaches into the box again and pulls out something else. To Walter’s surprise, it was a long list of possible options for who Kira could be. Walter takes a quick look at the list which includes at least around 400 or more people, which even included a certain member of the Task Force who Walter hadn’t taken much notice of.
Hank: Quite the list, eh? There is one person I’m very suspicious of at the moment.
Walter: Really?
Hank: Well, there’s a chance that I could be proven wrong but it’s this guy I’m a little sceptical on.
Hank points his finger to the photo of Light Yagami which Walter gets a look at.
Hank: I know he’s a member of a group determined to find Kira but what do we even know about Light Yagami? All we know is that he got the highest marks in his exams while he was still a student so he’s incredibly smart. To be fair, the others said it’s far less likely now that he’s a member of the Task Force.
Walter: And by becoming a member of the police, he could have a much easier time getting a list of criminals.
Hank: I was thinking the exact same thing too. However, I don’t want to believe it’s true. I mean, he’s a genuinely nice guy from what I’ve seen. Heck. It might even be a woman for all we know. One of those females that were the most suspicious was Misa Amane after all.
Thanks to Hank having no hesitation giving away a little bit of information on the Kira case, Walter was starting to get a good image of who Kira could be. It’s not entirely certain but it all seems to add up even just a little bit.
Light gets back to the hotel safely where he is greeted by his fellow Task Force members, happy that he had made it back. He walks into his room and locks the door behind him. While Ryuk grabs an apple, Light opens the drawer of his desk that reveals the Death Note which he had been hiding from everyone else.
Light: Still got some extra time. I should probably take it easy with killing criminals in Albuquerque. I don’t want to give away my position.
As Light prepares to add some more criminals to the long list he had in the notebook, he’s interrupted by the sound of knocking at his door. He didn’t even need to ask who was there to know who it was standing outside of his room. As the door was opened, he was unsurprisingly greeted by Misa. Without giving his fellow Kira in a very one-sided relationship a smile, Light lets her inside his room.
Light: Came here just in time. Just about to add a few more criminals.
Misa: Really?! I was just about to do the same.
Despite Misa’s compassion towards her love interest, Light remained unfazed and went back to get the notebook while she opened her laptop and prepared her own Death Note.
Light: I should probably let you know that we’re going to have cut our Albuquerque victims short. I’ve started to notice that we’ve been killing too many especially in the situation we’re in right now.
Misa: You got it Light!
With his notebook opened up and a pen in hand, Light starts looking through the list and begins thinking to himself. Misa follows along with Light and opens her own book.
Light: (in his mind) Just got to make sure Albuquerque has the least amount of kills than anywhere else and it shouldn’t be a problem. It’s already bad enough that there’s been a large amount of deaths ever since I came here. I can’t be too careless this time.
Ryuk was behind the two Kiras laying on Light’s bed watching the whole process and laughing in a sinister manner. Light checks the door lock to make sure that the only way inside his room would stop the rest of the Task Force from entering while they were writing. With that, Light and Misa began writing at a fast pace. One by one, multiple criminals were dying from heart attacks in the streets and in prison. Both Light and Misa were quickly making four rows per page consisting of multiple criminals that would eventually die in 40 seconds. One criminal ended up dying because of a car crash which he’d only noticed during his very last second of his life. With a quick flick from his pen, Light had just finished writing for the day. Misa would soon finish her progress a few seconds later.
(Music Ends)
As he stared down at all of the pages he had recently filled in the Death Note, Light silently let out an evil chuckle before looking towards Misa.
Misa: All done! I know you said that we shouldn’t have completely focused on this city but I’m sure a few couldn’t have hurt. I even got a few guys that were working in the drug industry. Most of them even worked for that Gus Fring guy you mentioned a few days ago.
While Misa gave Light a warm smile, Light couldn’t believe what he was hearing right now. Those guys were his best opportunity for getting Heisenberg’s identity and Misa blindly killed them.
Light: (in his mind) Misa. You idiot!
Although Light remained calm, he felt nothing but anger which he attempted to hide.
Light: Those were the guys that the DEA and the Task Force were questioning in order to get some information on Heisenberg.
Misa: Oh. Heh heh. Whoops.
Light took a deep breath and closed up his notebook, knowing that there was nothing that could be done and that there would be another way of tracking down Heisenberg. Misa looked concerned about Light, knowing that he was disappointed that his best option of taking down the meth kingpin was now gone.
Light: At least there were more criminals killed in other countries compared to the ones here which should be enough to avoid being suspicious. No matter. There might be another way of getting to him.
Misa: Huh? You think so.
Light: When Ryuk and I were walking down the streets, we found multiple houses covered by tents. Although it would seem like nothing but infested homes, this could be a hiding spot for a meth lab and I’m positive that the company named Vamanos Pest has something to do with it.
This news amazed Misa. She was glad that Light had found a new way of bringing Heisenberg to his twisted sight of justice.
Light: However, it might be difficult to get all of those names. This might be too risky but I’ll need you to make your way over there in order to get them. However, I don’t want you to kill them right away. I want to be the one to bring Heisenberg to his demise.
Misa: I’d do anything for you Light.
As Misa wraps her arms around her dearest “God of the New World” Light reveals an evil smile without her noticing.
Walter and Jesse had just finished up preparing another batch of meth and began breaking all solid crystals into tiny pieces and placing them into bags. With the job done, they exit the building and get into the back of a Vamanos truck which makes its way back to the office. Standing hidden on the other side of the road is Misa who catches the two heading off from the site. The only problem was that she didn’t get enough time to remember either of their names with her Shinigami Eyes.
Misa: (in her mind) I wasn’t able to figure out what the names of those guys were. Thankfully, the truck had the logo of who they work for. Light’s going to be so happy when I give him those names!
After a while, Misa makes her way to the front door of the Vamanos Pest office. Walter and the others hear her knocking on the door from inside. Before Walter opens the door, he looks at the window and finds out who was standing at the door. She definitely looked familiar. Jesse and Todd make their way to the entrance as Walter turns around and warns them about what could happen next.
Jesse: What’s the holdup?
Walter: It’s a Kira suspect.
Jesse and Todd couldn’t believe what he said but it raised one major question.
Jesse: How do you know this?
Walter: Hank and I discussed the case last night and that lady, Misa Amane, is a suspect of being Kira. It’s best that we be careful about this. She might seem kind but it’s still risky.
Before anyone could go to open the door, Misa calls out to see if anyone’s inside.
Misa: Hello?
This gets the attention of all three men as one of them decides to open the door himself, that person being Todd.
Todd: I’ll get it.
Walter: You sure?
Todd quietly nods in response and goes to open the door as Walter and Jesse move out of the way. He opens the door and is greeted by Misa.
Todd: Hello.
Misa: Hi! I’m Misa Amane. I’m part of the Japanese Task Force and I came here to ask a few questions. Is that okay?
Todd: Um. Sure. Come in.
Misa enters the building and sees Walter and Jesse before nodding her head as a greeting. She then uses this as an opportunity to get a better look at their names and lifespan.
Misa: (in her mind) Finally! I got their names. Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. This was easier than I expected.
Despite that thought, there would be something she wouldn’t even think of happening. The moment Todd shuts the door, he quickly draws out his pistol and points it at the back of her head as Walter and Jesse realise what was going to happen.
Jesse: WAIT! NO-
Misa was greeted by a gun being held by Todd that is immediately fired the moment she turns around, resulting in her getting killed by a bullet to the forehead off-screen. Misa’s lifeless body collapses to the ground as Walter and Jesse look in shock at the term of events.
Jesse: Yo what the hell?!
Todd: What?! Mr. White said she was suspect!
Jesse: She could’ve been innocent this whole time!
Walter: It’s too late. We can’t do anything about it now.
Walter looks down at the deceased Second Kira and looks back up at the two.
Walter: Grab the acid and a barrel. We’ve got work to do.
Todd and Jesse take Walter’s order and walk out and get the barrel and acid. Without knowing it, they just took down the biggest worshipper and second in-command of Kira.
Act 5
[]
With another meeting done, the Japanese Task Force begins making their way back to the hotel. The only one not following along is Aizawa who plans to have a one on one conversation with Hank before leaving in regards to Kira. Hank spots Aizawa walking into his direction in a confused manner.
Hank: Hey. Umm…Aizawa, right? Is everything okay?
Aizawa: Let’s make this quick. I think we both agree on who Kira might be.
Hank: You talkin’ about…well-
Aizawa: Light?
It turns out Hank wasn’t the only one that was suspecting Light since even a member of the Task Force was starting to get the same feeling. Still, neither wanted to believe that possibility and wanted to be proven wrong. However, everything seemed to make some perfect sense to the two agents.
Hank: Guess we’re on the same page. I didn’t want to tell any of you guys since he’s on the Task Force and he seems to be a great guy.
Aizawa: It’s fine. Your prediction seems to be likely. After all, Light was suspected of being Kira at first and now that he’s got better access to any captured criminals makes him even just a little bit more suspicious. I didn’t want to believe it either but it’s all starting to seem clear.
Hank and Aizawa stay silent for a while knowing that it will be difficult to tell the other Task Force members, especially Soichiro who will deny that his own son was the killer he’s been tracking down the whole time. Hank then breaks the silence and tells Aizawa how they can bring an end to all of this whether that’s the Kira Case or even the Heisenberg Case.
Hank: If we want to catch Kira before he gets to us first, you’re going to have to provide me and Gomez with any information you can find. We will do the same with Heisenberg of course.
Hank puts his hand out to Aizawa as the two shake hands in agreement, ready to take down the two masterminds once and for all. Aizawa then leaves the building as Hank walks the other direction.
At the time the meeting occurred, Mike had made his way to the hotel where the Task Force was staying whilst disguised as a cleaner. Mike is able to walk into the hotel and down the corridors without any suspicions. He managed to get to the computer located at the front desk which he used to type the surname “Yagami”. One of two results showed Light who Walter had told Mike about as well as which room he was in.
Mike eventually made it to Light’s hotel room and quietly shut the door and did some vacuuming and dusted the desk and shelves. With the cleaning part done, Mike starts placing a few bugs that would be connected to a laptop that Walter and the others would use to overhear Light. He made sure their placements weren’t very obvious and somewhere that Light could find them. As he was going to place a bug in the desk drawer, he came across the Death Note. Mike doesn’t lay a finger on the notebook or even put a bug in the drawer but does use his phone to take a picture of it to show Walter.
The only one witnessing the whole thing was Ryuk who Mike is unable to see due to him not touching the Death Note. Ryuk chuckles at the turn of events while Mike leaves the room to clean a few of the other rooms to avoid looking suspicious to everyone else in the building.
Ryuk: Perhaps I underestimated the old guy. Let’s see if Light takes notice of anything.
After a while, Mike makes his way back to his car and drives off. As he drives off from the site, the taxis which the Task Force were in made it back to the hotel.
While Light was making his way into the hotel, he began thinking about Misa’s disappearance. Her not returning after investigating the tented houses could only mean one thing. Luckily he did have a perfect lie that should hopefully sound believable to the others.
Light: (in his mind) Misa hasn’t even showed up yet! The only possible solution to that is the fact that Heisenberg might have figured it out. However, that’s impossible since Misa didn’t even have her Death Note at the time.
Before Light kept going, he was interrupted by Matsuda who asked about where Misa was.
Matsuda: Hey Light. Where’s Misa-Misa btw? None of us have seen her for a while now. Is everything okay?
Light went ahead and lied right to Matsuda’s face about why none of them had seen Misa. He didn’t even stutter or look suspicious in a way. All he had was a calm face.
Light: Oh. She didn’t tell you guys. Misa had a photoshoot back in Tokyo so she had to go back for the time being.
Matsuda: Oh okay. No worries.
As Matsuda left, Light had a large grin on his face as he went back into his room.
Light: (in his mind) That went fairly easy. Thankfully, I was able to give Misa’s notebook to another Kira worshipper. The only problem is that he writes a concerning amount of names per day.
The scene quickly cuts to a criminal prosecutor who goes by the name of Teru Mikami. He had “taken a vacation” to New Mexico and was now residing in a different hotel where he would begin writing down criminals in the notebook that originally belonged to Misa. To make things better for Light’s chances of victory, Teru had also made the Shinigami Eye deal.
Teru: I shall do all I can to not disappoint God and help bring Heisenberg and his colleagues to justice no matter the cost.
Teru then began writing names down, all while shouting one particular phrase.
Teru: Delete!
With the first name written down, a criminal fell to his knees and died from a heart attack like the majority of Kira’s opponents.
Teru: Delete! Delete! Delete!
With every “Delete” Teru causes, multiple criminals come crashing down as they instantly die. He eventually made it to his last kill for the time being and yelled the same word yet again.
Teru: DELETE!
With all of those criminals gone, Teru took a few deep breaths after all of the times he said “delete” and closed up his Death Note for now. He was just lucky that the walls in the hotel were soundproof and that no one could hear him shouting at the top of his lungs.
It was now late at night and Walter had met Todd’s uncle Jack Welker and his gang of Neo-Nazis. The gang consisted of Kenny, Lester, Frankie and Jack himself. Although there were supposed to be a few other members, said missing members had eventually become some of countless victims of Kira’s wrath. Throughout most of this meeting between him and the gang, Walter remained silent for most of it.
Jack: You’re not the only one tired of this “Kira” bullshit. We’ve already lost a few men, including some that were a part of a company called Kandy Welding.
Frankie: I think the best way to put an end to him is with a riot. Our boys get it done that way.
Jack immediately dismissed Frankie’s idea.
Jack: No chaos just yet. Once we know who he is and he’s cornered with no way out, we can act fast and quiet against him. Just boom boom boom. Now how many have we got at MDC?
Kenny: We’ve only got two now. Shattuck’s gone along with the others who’ve died.
Jack sighs in disappointment, unsurprised to hear that Sattuck had also been killed. He takes a quick puff from his cigarette before bringing his attention to Walter.
Jack: Gotta be honest with you, man. Going head to head with a mass murderer whose true identity is unknown is wild. However, it’s still quite difficult. It might be possible to get it done, just not the way you want it to be.
Walter still hadn’t spoken a word yet. Jack snaps his fingers to see if he’s got Walter’s full attention which he does. Walter looks towards the other gang members before looking back at Jack. At last, Walter speaks to the leader.
Walter: That’s what I’m paying you. It might not be easy but if I use whatever information I have now, it can be done exactly how I want it.
During the night, Light was sitting at his desk looking through some information on the Heisenberg case. This includes the very few amounts of evidence left from Gus’ lab, information on the Salamanca family and a photo of a gas mask. Upon this information was something different; a photo of a drawing that was supposed to resemble Heisenberg himself. The drawing only contained the face of a man with a moustache. The drawing also showed “Heisenberg” wearing a hat and sunglasses.
Light: I’m guessing this was based on a description of what Heisenberg is supposed to look like but I haven’t found anyone who resembles that image. I’m sure I’ll figure it out eventually.
Light begins packing away the pieces of evidence and is ready to get some rest before tomorrow's meeting.
Another meeting was done and Hank went to meet up with Aizawa again except this time the rest of the Task Force were with him. The only ones not there with them were Soichiro and Light.
Hank: Guess you guys are on board with Light being Kira?
Mogi: I’m afraid so. We were all trying to deny it but it sounds believable.
Matsuda: The real problem with this is how we’re going to be able to tell Chief Yagami that his own son was the killer we’ve been looking for this whole time.
Hank didn’t think about how Soichiro would’ve reacted to Light being Kira. He could only think that he would deny that possibility. However, he would find a way to prove it without even telling him.
Hank: We’re all going to find out tomorrow afternoon. Chances are that Mikami will be there too to write our names down. We’ll have to find a way to get ahold of that Death Note he has. We might need to create a fake one that we can replace the real one with.
Aizawa: I know how.
Hank and the Task Force turned their attention to Aizawa who had a plan to get ahold of Mikami’s Death Note.
Aizawa: Our best bet is to bring Mikami in for an interrogation and once he places all of his belongings away, one of us can get the notebook and replace it with a fake one before he leaves.
The room was silent before Hank decided that this would be the best way to prevent themselves from dying and to expose Light’s identity.
Hank: I think it can work. This might be our best chance to end this madness once and for all. Are we all in an agreement?
The Task Force members all nod as a response, ready to bring Kira to justice and eventually do the same to Heisenberg. With the plan set in motion, they leave to take a lunch break while Hank meets up with Gomez.
Gomez: You think this will work?
Hank: Trust me. It will definitely work. Light Yagami won’t suspect a thing.
Walter, Jesse, Saul and Mike were currently sitting inside Saul’s office where they were overhearing Light talking to Ryuk through the laptops that were connected to the bugs that Mike had placed.
Light: (through recording) You still want something to look forward to Ryuk? Don’t worry. Mikami will get all of those names written down in his notebook and once that part’s done, I will have an easier time getting Heisenberg’s identity. Maybe even his fellow colleagues. Once I’ve finally got rid of him, I’ll show the creation of a New World.
Saul: This guy seems dead set on this “New World” thing. At least we now know he’s definitely Kira.
Jesse: Yeah but who’s the Mikami dude he mentioned and more importantly, who the hell is Ryuk?! Some imaginary friend of his?! Guess his insanity’s starting to get the better of him.
Jesse proceeds to take a quick smoke out the cigar he has in his hand. Despite knowing that Light is Kira, there were still some questions that needed to be answered.
Walter: My main question is what does writing names in a notebook have to do with him killing criminals?
Mike: Perhaps it has something to do with his notebook he calls the “Death Note”?
Mike’s answers left the other three puzzled. There was no mention of a “Death Note” until now. Each of them turned around and faced Mike who was sitting in the chair further behind them.
Walter: I’m sorry. What?
Mike pulled out his phone to show them the photo of the notebook he took when he was placing bugs in Light’s hotel room.
Mike: Found it in Yagami’s drawer. I didn’t get a hold of it but this could be a link to all of the deaths. After all, he did mention something about “writing down names in his notebook”.
Jesse: So great. We’ve got some magic notebook that can cause murder to occur. Is that what you’re trying to say? Mr. White! There’s no way you’d believe in something that came out of a fantasy story right?
Walter looked towards Jesse and gave him a simple answer.
Walter: I believe it. How else could he kill all of those people without being anywhere close to them?
Jesse didn’t even try to argue with Walter and took another puff from his cigarette. At this point, he may as well go along with it. With no one else talking at the moment, Saul decides to help with creating a plan.
Saul: Now this might be risky but here me out on this. We know that they will all be going to an empty warehouse somewhere so we’ve got the location covered. Now Walt, your best move at this moment is to go to that exact place while they’re all there.
Walter: So what you're saying is that if I want to take Kira out, I will have to shoot him at any chance I get?
Saul: Exactly.
Walter thought more about this idea and decided to go with it. This could potentially be his last opportunity to bring his enemy down at last. He then looks towards Jesse and Mike. While Jesse looked concerned, Mike was unfazed as usual.
Mike: What part do we have in this, exactly?
Walter: If for some reason I need backup, I’ll give you and the rest a call. I’d recommend residing at Jack’s compound so all of you get the message.
Walter, Jesse and Mike get up from their seats but before he could turn around and walk to the door, Saul interrupts which gets their intention. He then proceeds to extend his hand to Walter for a handshake.
Saul: Just in case it doesn’t go well, it was a pleasure doing business with you all.
Walter silently gives him a handshake with Jesse and Mike following along. The three all leave the office, prepared to put an end to the “God of the New World”. While walking out, Jesse still asks about Ryuk and Teru yet doesn’t get an answer from anyone.
Jesse: So, uhhh...we’re just gonna pretend we didn’t hear him mention the names “Ryuk” and “Mikami”? Tch. Whatever.
Act 6
[]
The time had finally come after so long. It was time to see if Light Yagami truly was Kira all along. The plan seemed to have gone well so there didn’t seem to be any reason to panic. The Task Force, led by Light, and the Albuquerque police, led by Hank, arrived at an empty warehouse which was coincidentally close by to the laundry where Gus’ hidden lab was located. Once everyone went inside, Walter pulled over behind the warehouse and snuck his way to where the back entrance was. He hid himself behind a large box where he could peek over and watch and hear everything unfold through a large window. Now came the moment of truth.
(Music Fades Out)
Hank: Well everyone. Here we are. You all know the plan.
Light: (in his mind) Oh I know it alright. I also remember a plan of my own.
Hank: (in his mind) I know damn well it was you this whole time Light. I can’t wait to see the look on your face once you’ve been defeated. I’m sure your father would also be very disappointed in you.
Outside of the warehouse were footsteps that could be heard outside. An unknown figure appearing from the corner altered Walter who quickly hid himself. He already came to the conclusion on who that man was.
Walter: (in his mind) So this is the Mikami guy Kira mentioned earlier. The guy who was doing some extra killings.
The back door creaked as it slowly opened enough for Teru to look through without showing his entire face. Thanks to the Shinigami Eyes, he managed to get the names of everyone inside the building. He then began writing names down at an incredible speed while shouting one word as he always did when making his kills.
Teru: Delete!
Matsuda and Gomez pulled out their guns and loaded them in a panic, ready to shoot Teru. Hank alerted them to halt for a moment and remind them of their plan.
Hank: Hold it you two! Remember, the real notebook was swapped with a fake.
Teru didn’t even hear Hank’s words since he was way too focused on writing everyone’s names down aside from Light.
Teru: Delete! Delete! Delete! Delete! Delete!
Walter overheard Hank mentioning a fake book, grinning at the fact that he might not have needed to be there all along. Teru kept going as his eyes widened more, showing that he had lost his mind over his dedication to his god.
Teru: DELETE! DELETE! DELETE! DELTE!
As he prepared to put the last name down, Teru shouted at the top of his lungs to the point where it would sound like he would lose his voice for a long time and burst the eardrums of everyone nearby.
Teru: DEEEELLLEEEEEEEEEETTE!!!
Teru looked directly into the sky with a massive smile on his face, happy that he could fulfil Kira’s wish. Everyone inside was waiting for a while, some were looking worried while others weren’t worried in the slightest bit. Light on the other hand was trying to hold in his laughter, thinking it would be the end of everyone else besides him.
Light: (in his mind) Not right now. Not until they’re dead. I’ve got to hold it in.
After a bit of struggle, Light kept his ego under a serious face. He then proceeds to call out to Mikami.
Light: If you’re still there, you can enter the warehouse.
Teru: (in his mind) God!
Teru opened the door in a hurry and revealed himself to the police, showing a sinister grin on his face as he did so. He then proceeded to walk inside as Light asked him something.
Light: How long has it been since you finished writing?
Teru looks down at his watch and answers Light’s question.
Teru: 30 seconds.
The second Teru told everyone that the process of everyone’s pending doom was close had everyone in complete shock. Light was smiling at the turn of events since he could already see how it was all going to end.
Light: (in his mind) Fools. They thought I wouldn’t know about that fake notebook. I managed to find out about it and replace it with my own notebook. Although giving my Death Note would wipe my memories of being Kira, I kept a hidden piece of it to keep those memories.
Teru: 36…37
Hank: (in his mind) This is it Kira! Your reign of terror ends right where you stand!
Teru: ...38...39...
Light: (in his mind) You did well for a DEA agent Hank but this...is the end!
Teru: …40!
As Teru shouted the number 40, a few people started dropping to the floor as they quickly died from a heart attack. One by one, each member of the Task Force and the Albuquerque Police Force that were present were dead as Soichiro looked at his son in horror and disbelief.
Soichiro: Light...I can’t believe this. My own son?
Light: I’m sorry Dad but I can’t have any witnesses.
(Music Pauses)
As Soichiro joined the others, Hank started to shake. It all went well but Light seemed to gain the upper hand at the last minute. Walter could only watch in horror, fearing for the fate that Hank would face.
Light: Well Hank, looks like I win.
Before Hank dropped to the floor, he had one last message for his killer.
(Music Resumes)
Hank: It’s ASAC Schrader to you, Kira...and you can go fuck yourself.
It all immediately came to an end for Hank who quickly felt a tight feeling in his chest. Light’s smile and glowing red eyes would be the last thing he would see as he fell to the ground, completely lifeless.
Light looked around to see the deceased police officers laying down inside. Walter couldn’t believe it. He just witnessed his own brother-in-law die in front of him. Walter continued to hide as he shed a tear. Despite trying to avoid being arrested by Hank, he never wanted him dead by the end of it all. Light had a completely different reaction as he began letting out a slight chuckle. The chuckle slowly got a lot louder before Light bursts into laughter. At long last, there would be no one standing in his way. After a while, Light stopped laughing while Teru looked at Light with amazement.
Light: (in his mind) While I managed to outsmart the DEA and the Task Force, I managed to point out who Heisenberg was the whole time. That person…Walter Hartwell White. Makes sense for a former chemistry teacher to know how to make the purest meth on the streets. In fact, I even figured out who you were working with too. I’ve won. Exactly as planned.
Out of nowhere, Walter got a tight feeling in his chest. It wasn’t his lung cancer returning but his heart was slowly stopping. He stumbled out of his hiding spot before slowly pointing his Ruger LCR and shooting into the window, catching Light off guard. Walter prepares to fire again and goes for Light’s head but Teru finds out and runs into the direction where the gun was pointing.
Teru: GOD! LOOK OUT!!!
Teru pushes Light out of the way and takes the fall for his god, resulting in him dying after getting struck in the head by a bullet. He then collapses to the ground as Walter starts losing all of his strength. Light turns to Walter who was about to join the rest of his crew and tells him one last thing.
Light: Well Heisenberg, it looks like I’ve won.
After lots of struggling, Walter finally accepted his death and the gun dropped from his hand. He falls onto his back and shuts his eyes knowing that it was all over.
Back inside the warehouse, Light began letting out a slight chuckle. The chuckle slowly got a lot louder before Light bursts into laughter. At long last, there would be no one standing in his way. After a while, Light stopped laughing and breathing heavily. Ryuk had been standing in the warehouse the whole time and watched everything happen since they arrived.
Light: Now everything and everyone that was once in my way is finally gone! No more meth kingpins! No more DEA! Even the Task Force are out of the way!
Light then turns his attention to the deceased Walter and shouts out of loud and continues to celebrate his victory.
Light: What do you think of that Walt?! This is my perfect victory! That’s right! I WIN!!!
Ryuk speaks up once Light had calmed down and finished his celebration.
Ryuk: Well Light. Looks like you’ve done it as expected. Just imagine what would happen if the guy who outsmarted L somehow managed to lose to a middle aged criminal. Oh well. I guess the fun has to end one way or another. Now there’s nothing to look forward to.
Light hears the phrase “nothing to look forward to” and turns around to face the smiling Shinigami with a smile.
Light: Did you say you no longer have anything to look forward to Ryuk? From this point, I’ll continue to show the creation of a New World.
With his plan succeeded and no one standing in his way, Light opens the Death Note and starts writing the names of Walter’s crew. Back at the compound, Jesse starts losing his patience and proceeds to call Walter.
Unfortunately, Jesse gets hit with a heart attack and collapses to the ground. Everyone else looked in horror, knowing that it’s over and that the same might have happened to Walter. Mike takes out his phone and calls Saul as a warning.
Saul: (through the phone) What’s up?
Mike: We’ve lost. Kira’s won-
Saul overheard multiple thuds which could only imply that Mike and Jack’s gang had died from a heart attack. Saul quickly hangs up and scrambles around his office and finds a phone number for a vacuum store. Despite what the store was, the owner would be the person that could help Saul stay hidden with a new identity.
Saul: Thank god. I need a new dust filter for my Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro immediately.
Light returns to Japan and stands on top of a large building that gives him a great view of Tokyo, his eyes glowing red alongside Ryuk. There was no stopping him. Even after he found out that one of Heisenberg’s allies was using an alias the whole time, he was just glad to have finally rid Walter White himself from this so-called “rotten” world. Thankfully, he could make a change that he thinks is for the better without someone opposing him.
Light: (in his mind) Now without anyone standing in my way, I have rightfully taken my place as the God of the New World.

Boomstick: Who knew a battle that didn't rely on fisticuffs could be so entertaining? Although, we’re all going to have to rely on Near to put a stop to Kira huh? Maybe Columbo could solve the Kira case. Who knows?
Wiz: This was a close one to call a winner for and I mean an extremely close one.
Boomstick: Strap yourselves in. We’ve got a long verdict to discuss. Let’s get this out of the way. If this was a physical fight rather than a mind game, Light would pretty much be fucked.
Wiz: The Death Note is something that Walter has never had to deal with but considering it would take Light some time to write his name, if he has it to begin with, it won’t be long before Walter retaliates and shoots him before he gets killed first.
Boomstick: Walt has far more experience with physical confrontation which is kind of what led Light to his own downfall but we’re not here to discuss this as a fistfight. We’re talking about who can find the other first between Kira and Heisenberg.
Wiz: If I’m being honest, I was mostly expecting the exact opposite to happen. At first glance, it seemed like Walter would have this in the bag, or barrel in this case, especially since most evidence linked to Heisenberg is kept by Hank and he can even tell Walter about the Kira investigation as well as the main suspects. He has done it before with other cases he’s worked on including the Heisenberg case so him doing so with the Kira case shouldn’t be any different.
Boomstick: That is if Hank hasn’t realised Walt was the guy he’s been trying to put in handcuffs the whole time which is more likely to happen than Light getting caught first. Otherwise, he’d been willing to show some information to his brother-in-law. Now could Hank get the same feeling that Light could be Kira? Maybe. Would he ever be able to outmatch him and prove it to everyone else before they all die from a heart attack? It’s doubtful. Same goes for Walt’s chances.
Wiz: Not only that but if Walter overhears any mention of Light being Kira through any bugs that have been placed, it would all be over for Light. That is if it wasn’t for the fact that Light has dealt with a situation like this before. He managed to continue his killing spree even after L and the Task Force placed hidden cameras around his house.
Boomstick: While Ryuk is more willing to watch everything unfold instead of helping, Light would more than likely convince him to spot those bugs with an apple in return so there’s always that.
Wiz: What Light would also need to know is where exactly Walter and his gang are residing and cooking their meth and even then, he still needs his name for him to use the Death Note. However, he could send Misa or Teru to get his name. They do have the Shinigami Eyes after all.
Boomstick: Light could do the same and get the Shinigami Eyes himself but we all know Light would never make the Shinigami Eye deal himself but hey, it’s a good thing his fellow Kiras got the eyes. It will also be fairly difficult to get past anyone guarding the building especially if you’re facing professional child murderer Todd or anyone in Jack Welker’s gang but they wouldn’t think to start shooting their targets out in the open.
Wiz: The only real concern about Light’s associates is that while they’re far more loyal and won’t turn their backs on him, they’re mostly crazy followers compared to Walter’s more experienced criminal organisation and Misa alone is not the brightest.
Boomstick: Yeah. She’s just…really dumb. Hell, even Jesse would more than likely be smarter.
Wiz: Now this isn’t to say Walter was completely outmatched here. He’s far wiser and takes a little bit more caution before his next move while Light can sometimes lash out in anger which was what happened when Lind L Tailor left a mark on his ego.
Boomstick: Saul would be a great help for Walter. Although he’s not great in physicality, he’s great with extra planning. On top of that, he can get someone like Huell to pickpocket Light in order to obtain the Death Note. Better yet, he can just hire anyone to get themself arrested under the name Heisenberg and take the fall for Walter.
Wiz: That should be enough to get Kira’s goal of killing Heisenberg out of the way which gives Walt a lot more time to find Kira. An issue Saul might have is his own reputation, especially when it comes to his past with the Salamanca family. This may result in his name being written in the Death Note if he’s found to be working with Heisenberg.
Boomstick: Good thing he doesn’t have to worry about that because he can just get away with it like he usually does and it also turns out that “Saul Goodman” isn’t even his real name. It’s actually Jimmy McGill. Even so, Light and his fellow Kiras are not going to think much about some sketchy defence lawyer. That or he can just fly under the radar like he usually does. At least good ol’ “Slippin’ Jimmy” would more than likely be the last man standing on Team Heisenberg.
Wiz: Even outside of the law, Walt’s crew is extremely useful. If Walt can just have Jesse continue cooking if he needs more meth to be made while also avoiding suspicions.
Boomstick: We also can’t forget about the hitman of Walt’s empire, Mike Ehrmantraut. He’s definitely no slouch.
Wiz: Instead of bugging Light’s location himself, Walter can just simply have Mike bug the DEA or even the Task Force’s location in order to overhear their conversations about Kira without them noticing. After all, Mike always makes sure that everything is completely the same once his part of the work is done, leaving absolutely no trace of him behind.
Boomstick: He also keeps a low profile through disguises and blends in with the people in his area to avoid seeming out of place. Plus, he can even just search for anything that could help with getting a better lead in finding Kira while he’s at it. This idea could work but as we said earlier, Light managed to find out that his room had been bugged and managed to get around it before.
Wiz: Some could argue that Walter outsmarted Gus, a far more experienced drug kingpin, while under the pressure of not having a lot of time and while Light's plans do usually take a little bit longer, this isn't an issue. We've seen Light manage to get Naomi Misora's name in a short period of time. Either way, there's not only the fact that Walt has never dealt with supernatural stuff like the Death Note but there's also the fact that Light managed to orchestrate the death of the greatest detective in the world.
Boomstick: There's also the fact that Walt's lung cancer might knock him out unconscious every now and then which might give Light an advantage in figuring out who Heisenberg is especially given that Light is capable of making deductions out of the smallest pieces of evidence. Unless the Task Force and the Albuquerque Police find out he's Kira beforehand, needless to say that Light could singe-handily solve the Heisenberg case.
Wiz: Finding a winner for this debate was definitely not an easy decision especially when comparing two of the smartest criminal masterminds in a battle that doesn’t rely on fisticuffs. Walter having more instances of quick planning, more experienced associates working with him and the tools required to ultimately taking down Kira were excellent counters but with the help of his detective skills, better experience and a supernatural notebook on him, Light would eventually get a perfect victory.
Boomstick: Looks like the “great” Heisenberg didn't get to see the Light of victory but Light's victory instead. The only door Walt will be knocking now will be the doors of the afterlife.
Wiz: The winner is Light Yagami.
(Light starts laughing like a maniac)

Trivia[]
- The connections between Walter and Light are:
- Two villain protagonists who start off as regular citizens with incredible minds before later coming across power which they intended to use for good (Walter started making meth to help raise money for his family and Light uses the Death Note to kill criminals)
- Said power would soon turn them into one of the most feared criminals of their city
- Both would soon go under a new alias for their newfound crime breaking egos (Heisenberg and Kira)
- They are also accompanied by someone who gets manipulated into helping them out (Jesse Pinkman and Misa Amane)
- Both do however have to be careful of those who are trying to put an end to their reign of terror by their own family member who is leading the case of finding their identity (Hank Schrader and Soichiro Yagami) and someone who's always ahead of them and put stress towards them (Gustavo Fring and L Lawliet)
- In the end, both would soon die by either succeeding or losing (Walter won before dying while Light ended up losing)
- This battle would be hand drawn or made in live action.
- The battle was originally going to be written by Cropfist but it was later adopted by SpeedyHedgehog91.
- This is the longest battle Speedy has written.
- Walter was the original winner but after some rethinking, the verdict changed to Light winning.
