Vampire Hunter D, or simply D, is the main protagonist of the eponymous franchise, Vampire Hunter D, a long-running series of Japanese light novels written by Hidekiyu Kikuchi and illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano, some of which have since been adapted into anime films, comics, and video games.
