History

Before the events of Devil May Cry V, V used to be one whole person; Vergil. However, suffering defeat after defeat from his brother Dante, Vergil's body grew weaker and weaker. Vergil needed to do something to avoid dying completely. In doing so, he stole Nero's Devil Bringer arm by forcibly detatching it from his body. With the help of the Yamato and the Devil Bringer, Vergil went back to the old Sparta house where he grew up, and stabbed himself with the Yamato, causing him to be split in two; a demon and a human. The Demon would become the king of them all, named Urizen, and the other one was a human representing the human side of him, called V.
