~ Sketchy |
Sketchy is one of the many protagonists of Storinaries, serving a very important part in the story. He's mostly an optimistic, good-natured and mischievous pencil who is too naïve to tell that people hate him, but can sometimes become a little arrogant and short-tempered. He may not be the most heroic man around, but he will stand up for his friends... and his own treasure.

Exact Detail[]
Appearance: He's a short pencil about the average size of a cartoon character (2'4"), and very lightweight. As he is a cartoon, he does have the average yellow color of a standard No. 2 pencil, lines for eyes, arms, legs and feet, yellow hands, an open mouth with a missing tooth, and a red scarf, which he has worn ever since he was born.
Personality: He's very optimistic and fun-loving, seeing the bright side in everything and always getting out of his way to help others, and this can make him loyal, clueless and gullible. His naivety can sometimes make him victim to manipulation, though he has common sense when he needs it, and amazing intelligence that shines in the greatest of moments. Sketchy is also very cowardly, but will toughen up for the sake of his loved ones. Despite his kindness, he's not prone to arrogant or temperamental behavior.
Origin: In his past, he used to be a mischievous host, yet having the same gullible and wacky personality, who made a challenging contest for others to enter for money, only for it to be in his favor when the last one standing had to battle him. They succeed, only for the building to be taken down, and for the contest to be cancelled and never again repeated. Back then, he used to be very greedy and sly despite his calm nature in his own right, and enjoyed watching people fight, until he was defeated.
First Adventure: He retreated from his home town and went solo until the heat died down, then dawned only his red scarf, a treasure map, and his reliable skills, only to go on a noble quest for riches, only to have rescued a beautiful princess instead. He then foiled the plans of an evil warlock who wished peril among the peaceful Office Fairies, only to hijack his plane, steal his riches, and come back to Greenland as a new man entirely.
Present Day: Since that exploit, he changed, and became a whole new person entirely, leading to his various misadventures and silly predicaments, most of them he caused. It all would start where he would find interest in a new hobby, get into trouble with his neighbors, and even find and/or encounter weird things. They all end with him either failing tremendously, or succeeding slightly, but he wouldn't care, and he was willing to be in the same ditch the next day because it was so fun to him.
Present Hobbies: At the moment, he's kind of an anti-hero. He does good things for the wrong reason and ends up doing something good on accident, only to then probably ruin it all moments later. He also partakes in multiple hobbies and/or jobs, some he runs himself, and some he messed up and quit from, but mainly, he's an adventurous thrill-seeker, moneymaker/treasure hunter, and bringer of joy, as well as a troublemaker at times. This may sound evil, but he's still good inside, just fairly... mischievous.

Faults[]

- Despite his amazing intelligence, he's prone to ignorance and lacks focus, making him naive and clumsy.
- To prove this point, in Storinaries: The Movie, he once had a perfect plan going well, and he ruined it by doing one stupid thing: playing around when he was supposed to keep watch. Once he realized he screwed it up, he tried to fix it, and kept on making it worse.
- Though he can't be hypnotized, he can be persuaded into tricks because of plot-induced stupidity.
- His plans can show to be deadly and seem to work out for him, but they always fall apart in the end.
- He has shown to be childishly cowardly, running away from most major threats he believes are highly dangerous (though he can perfectly handle them with ease) and being very easy to scare, especially when it comes to clowns and werewolves.
- While being very kind, he's not prone to acting rude, arrogant and/or short-fused.
- Sketchy is mentally insane in the head, and while he mostly acts sane, this trait can sometimes get the best of him. This still isn't anything to be taken seriously though.
- Despite his amazing Toon Force and endurance, he can still feel some sorts of pain, such as being knocked out unconscious.
- What supports this fact is that he's a laughingstock in his respective town.
- Some weapons in his arsenal can tend to malfunction or backfire, mostly his simple items.
- He only said no to death because he won against Death in a bet... because he cheated in a sly manner, and Death said it was a one-time deal.
- And when he resisted going to heaven because of dying stupidly, that wasn't for comedic effect, it was only because he died on accident and begged God to go back. He said he'll let him go back each time he dies in a completely stupid or clumsy manner.
- Graphite Manipulation isn't all-powerful, and is limited to bolts from his hands and tip on his head, though he can grow another one.
- His abilities cannot be spammed, as some have their limits, and he isn't all-knowing of some things.
- Fighting style can sometimes be overpowered by others with more skill than him, such as masters of actual combat skill.
- His vehicles require to be somewhere else for him to use, as he can't pull any of his vehicles out of hammerspace like his weapons.
