Matt Midway vs Sketchy is a What If? Death Battle of Season 1 by TheVoidofDrawings, starring Matt Midway from The Adventures of Matt Midway and Sketchy from Storinaries in a fight between two cartoony OC mascot protagonists of franchises created by me, TheVoidofDrawings.
Description[]
Void's two most iconic, developed and long-running OC mascots are about to duke it out in this epic DEATH BATTLE! They pull through supernatural dangers with their undying optimism, immense determination, and powerful Toon Force, but what if they met? They had a crossover, and I can confirm that, but now, we'll get a real answer to who wins.
Interlude[]
Wiz: Matt Midway, Oakville's happy-go-lucky, adventurous troublemaker who attends a trashy public school...
Boomstick: ...and Sketchy, the energetic Australian pencil of Greenland with a mouth bigger than his arsenal.
Wiz: Ever since Void started creating comic books, their rivalry of favoritism lasted for years. It went from Super Matt vs Pencil Man, to Maby Midway vs Pencil Ninja, and now, their final outtakes. Using only these versions, alongside a long list of abilities gathered from their every canon source, it's time to see which OC rules supreme.
Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a DEATH BATTLE!
Matt Midway Gets Wild For DEATH BATTLE![]
Boomstick: Roll tape!
Wiz: In the troublesome cities of Oakville, which, in this universe, is the largest location on the planet, lies many unique attractions, large portions of nature and random, supernatural occurrences that to the townsfolk are an every-day thing.
Boomstick: Then why do they always freak out when a talking turtle pops up in a robot to invade it?
Wiz: Because his inventions are different each time, but even then, his plans are constantly foiled by the likes of... Matt Midway.
Boomstick: Meet Matt Mikeson Midway, an optimistic and creative young man who has a dream to become a great, wealthy cartoonist, but sticks to helping others in their times of need.
Wiz: He was born to a loving mother and father, but it all fell apart when they divorced. Since then, he spent his whole life repeatedly moving from one state to another alongside his sister, Whitney. It all stopped when they moved to Oakville itself, because only then would it be his permanent homeland.
Boomstick: While his dad got a job as both a sports and life coach, and his sister was living the dream in High Grade Academy, Matt was sent to a dumpy place called "Oakville Public School" with a greedy jackass principal named Mr. Jonathan who treated everyone like shi-
Wiz: On the night of his first day at school, he ran back into his childhood friend, Damion Murkowski, who was still as nerdy and socially awkward as he was in the past, and childhood pet, who is now an anthropomorphic but surprisingly dumb dog, Birch Fetchbone.
Boomstick: Little did he know, they all met before when they were little, but couldn't remember due to being hit in the head with a coconut. Yeah, this happened to each of them.
Wiz: Let's uh... get back on track. Later at the arcade, they all ran into an old friend, Charlie Fisticuffs, who was now the rude, strong and egotistical jock of the block, and he wanted to kick them out of the arcade.
Boomstick: Matt refused, but then he had to defeat him a duel he called "Collision of Chaos". Of course, being the protagonist, he was the first to kick his ass at the game in 5 years.
Wiz: After his loss, he was infuriated and was dead-set on defeating Matt in everything possible, while the triad of kids became best friends, gaining an inseparable friendship that lasted forever.
Boomstick: Yeah, no one could make them separate if they tried, even if Matt, Birch and Damion were dysfunctional. Likewise, they, overtime, turned into the local troublemakers who sometimes saved the day and sometimes made them worse, doing things like causing school riots and letting monsters into the city.
Wiz: On a daily basis, Matt himself is either residing in his treehouse with his friends, his school, or battling many foes such as his arch-nemesis Turloc who, despite his intelligence, constantly fails to accomplish his goals of world domination due to his massive ego, high-temper, or general incompetence.
Boomstick: Trust me, outside of his wacky antics, he's a slacker, and he always tries to keep it that way but constantly has heavy responsibilities piled onto him.
Wiz: He fulfills mundane tasks for Mr. Jonathan, who, while abhorring him, always has to follow his orders or else he'll get him in trouble, threatening to do things like suspend him or even kick him out, which would earn him a massively-painful whopping from his father if so. Fortunately, he always gets his comeuppance in the end.
Boomstick: Yeah, and he did pretty amazing things over the years, like saving Christmas from Leo, his twisted doppelganger, and being crowned Santa's closest friend by the jolly fat man himself! What I'd give to be in his place.
Wiz: He also saved Oakville from numerous disasters, such as a giant, mutated monkey, an army of slime monsters, eldritch forces of evil, and more of the sort, alongside global warming, as seen in Summer's Heat, where he stops it by actually helping its sentient sun with it's fever... I'm not gonna ask about that.
Boomstick: Matt even saved the galaxy three times from Tentaclerous, an evil space creature who destroys everything in its path without a care in the world, like Wiz in that one science fair when he was younger!
Wiz: Please don't bring that up, Boomstick.
Boomstick: Oh come on, Wiz! It's all in the past now. So what if you murdered hundreds of children in the process of bringing your "experiment" to school?-
record scratch
Wiz: ...
Boomstick: ...This thing isn't live, is it?
(static)
Wiz: W-Well, that was an inconvenience... let's pretend that didn't happen. Back to Matt's feats, he was gifted honor of owning a forest, won a Medal Of Respect, restored electricity to all of Earth, prevented all world-wide disasters in 2 seconds and destroyed a Mega Meteor with ease when not even superhumans could do so!
Boomstick: He also defeated plenty of big-bads, such as Zapper, a vicious being made of electricity, Tornado Tim, a sentient tornado with boxing gloves, and Dictator Luna, a crazy chick who was dead-set on controlling/rewriting the world through politics and democracy. Sound familiar?
Wiz: His most formidable foe he defeated, however, would have to be Overshade. He's the same alien warlock who defeated numerous experienced armies of space knights at once, enslaved entire galaxies in a week's notice, constructed the nefarious Destructor, and outsmarted the intelligence of Turloc, who, despite his ego, is a pure, inventive genius.
(Super Block Land - Super Mario 3D World)
Boomstick: With feats like these, you're bound to have the most ridiculous stats, and believe me when I say that Matt has plenty. To start things off fresh, he's strong enough to wrestle a grizzly bear, ram through walls, tip over trees with a shoulder bash, and flatten a dumpster with ease.
Wiz: He's also capable of punting pyramids and causing craters with sheer force, as well as being able to destroy his own house, which was completely unscathed after being blasted by Turloc's Satellite-Ray.
Boomstick: Dealing with giants is no problem either, especially since he tossed a horde of them past the troposphere and sent them to the moon.
Wiz: Matt's punches are strong enough to destroy bank safe doors, entire playgrounds, multiple schools, skyscrapers, asteroids, and even whole planets!
Boomstick: In fact, he easily slayed Dragoon with his strongest punch, and said punch caused a crater so powerful that shockwaves were made, and said shockwaves de-rooted trees and blew away a LOT of land.
Wiz: On several occasions, he was able to successfully burst through Turloc's Turtle-Tron 2000, which was strong enough to withstand a nuke, an earthquake, and even crashing through Earth. Tossing it miles away was no sweat either, and it was stated to be heavier than a skyscraper.
Boomstick: He's able to hold black holes, which are 3 to 10 solar masses, but that's nothing compared to him lifting stars, which are 100 solar masses!
Wiz: Matt has also been shown to restore hundreds of them to an entire solar system in seconds just by tossing them afar, as well as easily destroying them. He was just fine when absorbing the energy of a supernova too, and when he released it, the power was strong enough to shatter an entire line of planets.
Boomstick: Sure, he can easily demolish multiple solar systems by crashing into them, but he's also able to harm characters who are capable of kicking his ass, such as Noah or Kora, which means his strength mirrors his durability... and that's what we're hopping right into next!
Wiz: He takes hits from Birch and Damion on a daily basis, and they've been shown to be able to disassemble buildings, crack an entire island in half, and overpower a nuclear explosion with their sheer strength.
Boomstick: He also regularly tanks harsh beatings from Charlie, who's able to redirect a meteor shower with the friction of a single punch!
Wiz: He has survived being in the epicenter of several point-blank explosions, being blasted with Leo's heat vision, and Bob tugging his belt, which causes shockwaves strong enough to shatter glass, shake buildings and cause mild earthquakes.
Boomstick: Tanking asteroids exploding for him is also consistent, since he does it in various episodes, such as Space Delivery, where he tanks the moon blowing up in his face.
Wiz: The moon's mean radius is 1,079.6 miles, and to get its diameter, you'd have to double that amount, which equals 2,159.2 miles. Weighing a whopping 7.35 x 10²² kilograms and being only a little bit less of a third of Earth's size, the amount of force you'd need to destroy it is 30,000,000 teratons of TNT.
Boomstick: Cool, but with the Big Ol' Fan and while on Earth, he survived being blown through planets, swirled through the Milky Way, and bounced back into orbit so fast that it caused a Solar System-spanning explosion on impact that all the planets tanked! Multi-Solar System level durability feats are also consistent as well.
Wiz: He's also remarkably fast, being able to outrun missiles, run up walls, dodge whips and run on par with Greg, who could run across neighborhoods in short time frame and break speed guns while running multiple laps around the school.
Boomstick: Not only that, but he could also dash through Turloc's defenses under 2 minutes, which was estimated to be 1,000 miles long, as well as Slimelossus' Slush Yard, which is as big as your annual carnival, front to back easily.
Wiz: Matt could also run through his entire forest in seconds just for food, and came back with a retrieved box of pizza that was in tip-top shape. He's also able to outpace ostriches and cheetahs, as well as dodge lightning bolts with ease.
Boomstick: Laser-dodging is common as fuck, since he did it in, like, multiple episodes! Examples are Turtle Mastermind, Fight!, Coding It Together and Excuses, Excuses.
Wiz: He once ran across the entire Earth in a matter of 5 seconds. Since the Earth's equatorial circumference is 40,074 km, the estimated time for a normal person to complete this feat is 46 days, 9 hours, 10 minutes and 16 seconds, but to do it in 5 seconds however, you'd have to travel at a speed of 17,928,600 miles per hour!
Boomstick: Or at almost Mach 23367! ...Moreso Mach 23366.7678. He can even easily hop from planet to planet, as well as reach the end of the Milky Way, all in seconds. And after a long-ass while of calculating, I found out that the Milky Way one requires speeds of 8.1 trillion times the speed of light!
Wiz: He's able to catch up with Damion, who outpaced a Mach 5 airplane, ran from Oakville to the sun in 2 seconds and reacted faster than the Relavistic+ Sensei Superior.
Boomstick: And hopping right into intelligence, Matt is really smart. Sure, he can be a little naïve, and isn't a grade-A student by any means, nor is he above Damion, but he's very cunning when need be.
Wiz: Matt has a knack for creating complex schemes on a daily basis. These schemes of his may not seem to have a good track record, but they have proven to be rather impressive, and get better with the more prep he's given. Even without it, he's an on-the-fly-thinker who specializes in improvisation.
Boomstick: He has astonishing leadership skills, and trained all the school kids to fight against Overshade's army in the Overshade Arc. Matt also stopped several school riots, and even united two countries that were at war for several years.
Wiz: He's tactical to high degrees, and always has spare tricks up his sleeve for when he needs them. In War At School, he devised a brilliant plan to stop the enemy team in Oakball, and even when they were soon to be defeated, Matt secretly pulled out a spare weapon he stole from a sleeping guard.
Boomstick: Drawing is another one of his specialties, as he mastered graffiti art, realistic art, and symbolic drawing. While being able to redraw the Mona Lisa to trick a museum owner doesn't prove useful at first, his notebook and imagination have magical powers, which we'll get into later.
Wiz: He's also decent in some areas of manipulation. For example, he often makes lies prior to his environment so they're believable, trick opponents into doing ridiculous things, and target their mental weaknesses so he can get intel on what he needs. He used this on the townsfolk in The Day of Matt so he could make his birthday a holiday all to get out of school.
Boomstick: Matt even invented his own style of martial arts: Silly-Fu!
Wiz: That sounds very... generic.
Boomstick: Silly-Fu is a unique type of fighting style, of which involves wacky, classic cartoon moves we've seen in the old theatrical animations. He constantly makes it up as he goes, and it makes him almost unpredictable since it's always how he fights!
Wiz: He's a master of disguise, and is able to use anything as cover to hide from his enemies like he did in Wacky Wallabaloo against Grump Grump. This also applies to setting up traps, hiding objects and even blending into crowds.
Boomstick: His smarts also tie with his experience, as he learns more about things the more fights he gets in. He's been through the craziest shit, so he won't be surprised about anything supernaturally unexpected about his opponent unless he gains the thought that they're powerless.
Wiz: Matt has travelled through volcanic locations, intoxicated caves, deep seas, windy battlegrounds, and even through time and space itself whilst battling bosses much larger than him, all to find Overshade, as shown in The Adventures of Matt Midway: Space Game.
Boomstick: Yeah, it all adds up. And finally, he's a pro treasure hunter, able to sneak through a heavily-guarded ancient temple thrice in one day without getting caught as he stole their riches and got off scot-free.
Wiz: With that all being said and done, it's time to move onto his abilities.
Boomstick: I'm gonna have to drink hard after I'm done with this one.
(Rayman Legends OST - Castle Rock)
Wiz: Matt is a wielder of Toon Force, a form of reality warping twisted into a comedic mannerism. Characters like SpongeBob SquarePants, Homer Simpson, Bugs Bunny and Garfield have perfected this ability, and are prime examples.
Boomstick: This gives him the power to control and manipulate the plot to his liking, being able to rewrite the entire story too. In The Adventures of Matt Midway: The Movie, he was shown to have written the entire thing by himself, and even interrupted it at some parts to add things he forgot to include.
Wiz: This is rather consistent, given how he does this for a majority of the series with ease. In Grey Grape, when backed to the wall, he rewrote the script and magically made the Grey Grape Giant become a happy klutz instead of a rampaging beast, and in Horror In Hollywood, he made monsters from his friends' stories come to life and manipulate the environment with his words.
Boomstick: He also has extreme regeneration, being able to reform from being decapitated, zombified, melted, flattened, ripped into shreds, disintegrated, reduced to his skeleton, and even from being completely obliterated! He also came back from being transmuted into a rat once. Weird.
Pop-Up: While his Low-Godly Regeneration seems like an inconsistent excuse at first, he did it in 10 separate episodes. These episodes are Settling Down, To The Moon And Back, Grey Grape, Groovin, Before Cruelty, Super Matt, Horror In Hollywood, Red or Green, Look Behind You and The Great Holiday Special.
Wiz: If he's dismembered, instead of regenerating, he could create clones from just one limb. Unlike him though, these clones can be taken out after a few hits and reduced into a cloud of smoke.
Boomstick: He can also teleport within the blink of an eye, whether it be to another location, into someone's mind, or even their dreams.
Wiz: He's also granted hammer-space, the power to write down notes in the air, and even using his speech bubbles as weapons, or even causing comic fonts to appear by physically attacking his opponent.
Boomstick: Toon Force also gives him an immense stamina, being able to store multiple objects, eat abnormal amounts of food and even hold others above himself without slowing down at all. What's even more useful is how his regular stamina ties with this one, and he's able to travel across whole galaxies without slowing down.
Wiz: To add onto his inhumane stamina, he has Self-Sustenance, being able to survive for weeks without basic human necessities, such as food or drinks.
Boomstick: Yeesh, I guess Survivors is a walk in the park for him in this case.
Wiz: If given the correct humorous moment, he could momentarily stop time at will, preventing everyone and everything from being able to move while also being able to turn back time if tempted, though he doesn't do this often.
Boomstick: Fortunately, he resists this power if others do it too, as shown in The Adventures of Matt Midway: V.G. Chaos, where he is still able to move and function while Overshade uses the time-control ability from his Warrior's Staff.
Wiz: In a video game-esque mannerism, he can double jump, slide through thin spots, dash in midair, be omnilingual with subtitles, come back from the death with spare lives, and even narrate over others as if he himself was the storyteller.
Boomstick: He even has an attack meter, as shown in Matt & Friends: Eccentric Boogaloo, of which can be filled up the more he's attacked. It's called "Creative Flow", and when released, he whips out his doodling notebook and proceeds to unleash multiple drawings everywhere, kind of like the Mario Finale.
Wiz: He's able to control his body to high degrees, whether it be him stretching his limbs, inflating by compressing his breath, growing extra body parts, changing his voice into others', turn into objects, turn into people, or shapeshifting to fit through tight spaces. Speaking which, these abilities are comparable to shapeshifting.
Boomstick: This also involves the power of shrinkage, where he can deplete in size and zoom through little holes as seen in The Adventures of Matt Midway: Land of Pain.
Wiz: Matt has the power to change the art style, whether it be hand-drawn, 3D, 8-bit, 16-bit, or even CGI. This ability has been shown to mess with reality, making his surroundings crumble since he doesn't have that much of a good grip on it, and he only uses it as a last resort to stun his opponent.
Boomstick: He's also immersive, able to hop in paintings, books, and even television to blend in so he can hide from his opponent, as well as control gravity by pausing himself or wittingly going in slo-mo whilst in midair.
Wiz: Like most cartoon characters, he can even spawn random objects out of nowhere, such as mallets or bear traps, and use them against someone. For example, in Olden-Day Override, he trapped Big Old Bill in a cage after having him unwittingly step on a loose floorboard once he got Matt's back to a wall.
Boomstick: He can use hypnosis on someone by swinging a leashed object around, possesses Broadway Force, and can, of course, break the fourth wall. I wished to never have to utter those words ever again, but here I am.
Wiz: (Sigh) His fourth-wall breakage ability grants him awareness of his fictionality, and the power to come into the real world at will. He consistently does this in-character, as shown in The Real-Life Blunder and Layers of Reality.
Boomstick: To add onto this, he's able to rip off people's outlines, manipulate peoples' shadows, change cutaway gags, interrupt flashbacks, and cause a hole in reality to go from one universe to another.
Wiz: Outside of basic Toon Force, he's also able to do actual reality warping. Examples of this are being able to literally knock the light out of stars with a rock, mending a piece of the background art into weaponry, unravelling an entire planet with a single string to reach a UFO that's 400,000,000,000 lightyears away, or even picking the sky apart like puzzle pieces.
Boomstick: He even willingly forced asteroids to redirect by pushing his arms out, which, at the time, was an entire meteor shower.
Wiz: In this case, he can easily turn a planet into a flat frisbee just by turning it, and toss it fast enough to where it slices through multiple constellations. On one occasion, he even also vacuumed the water from all of Earth into a massive water balloon to splash away an entire fleet of aliens.
Boomstick: Yes, his Toon Force isn't a force to be reckoned with, but when push comes to shove, his natural abilities can prove to be very, very deadly as well. Even more deadly than the cartoon ones!
Wiz: Matt is a user of pyrokinesis, of which is the power to spawn, control and manipulate fire. Like in The Adventures of Matt Midway: Eccentric Boogaloo, this can be expressed by fireballs, fire beams, fire vacuums, fire projectiles, or even explosions. Said explosions are stated to have enough power to combust all of the planet Plapper's moons at once, of which are 50 total, and were each unscathed after being blasted by nukes.
Boomstick: If necessary, he can even manipulate ice to his will, as well as energy, like when he negated and absorbed Damion's electricity-based attacks. Also, he can generate green energy out of nowhere and fire them with a power that can easily slice through metal, or make a weapon out of them.
Wiz: He has shown to be resistant towards high temperatures, breathe in space, and process on all sorts of planets normal humans would immediately die on. For example, he lived for a day on the sun without sweating or boiling, and did the same on Mars. He's also able to breathe underwater and-
Boomstick: -AND he shrugged off toxins! Like, he was shown to have no affect on food poisoning because of him being able to eat the school food from Oakville Public School on a daily basis, which killed a flock of birds in seconds and caused a hole in an iron plate.
Wiz: Age hax is another ability he's resistant towards. In Temptations, he was forced to age by the God of Temptation, and in Excuses, Excuses, he was pushed through time until he hit 1999 B.C. Both of course had no affect on him.
Boomstick: And good luck trying to mind-control him, because he shrugged off Turloc's Brain-Manipulator, which was able to hypnotize everyone on Earth except for him, Birch and Damion, drunk a Love Potion without having any changes, and pushed through Overshade's Hypno-Mode on his cyborg arm, which was strong enough to take control of an entire galaxy.
Wiz: Matt has also been shown to be very immune to transmutation as well. When Turloc's Transformation Ray, the same weapon that turned most citizens of Oakville into pigeons, hit him, it seemed to have no effect. The same result came out of Magicza's Wand when she tried to turn him into a hideous goblin for eternity.
Boomstick: Ironically enough, he can also transmute people into inanimate objects and objects into other objects, like when he turned Turloc into a golden statue and back. Radiation resistance is another thing he has, since in Toxic Toxins, he walked into a field full of gamma radiation without having any side effects.
Wiz: He is also able to change fate. In the Overshade Arc, it was shown by the Ancient Spirits that Overshade was destined to win, and the best they could do was delay it, but Matt pushed farther and defeated Overshade, proving that he could change fate.
Boomstick: In Brotherly Friendship, he was shown to have the power to transmit his thoughts to others, and even read the thoughts of others!
Wiz: What would have to be one of his most useful abilities is arguably his indomitable will. His sheer will was enough to overcome the largest of obstacles, and even kicked out being who tried to possess him, such as Hypno.
Boomstick: He even has luck hax! Yeah, he does. In Settling Down, he asked the world if he could have resources to build a treehouse with, and they immediately appeared. To boost it, in To The Moon And Back, where he pleaded to have Charlie slow down before he could reach him, and he just did, and in Western Days, where he wished to appear back in Oakville, only for him to appear there in seconds!
("Oh crap! I really wish I was back in Oakville right now!")
A few seconds later, he appeared there.
("...Huh. Thanks, world.")
Boomstick: ...Wait. If he has luck hax, then how come he can never seem to get a Zero Bar?
Wiz: It's one of the things that the show revolves around, trust me. Moving on, this ability also helped him win the lottery, find a $1 bill when he needed it the most, drive away from Slimelossus, put down Dictator Luna, and avoid being beaten to a pulp by multiple episode-spanning antagonists, such as Charlie, Kora, or even Lord Huskded.
Boomstick: If that doesn't work, he can always BFR his opponent into a picture frame, tv, photo, snowglobe, piece of paper, mirror, and more, like he did to Turloc whenever he was really mad at him, or by reflex.
Wiz: Should anyone ever remove his soul, he can easily reenter his body and do whatever he can in his body as his own spirit. He even did this to himself to enter people's minds to either see their dreams or to try and possess them. With people who resist this ability, however, he'll only bounce off their physical body, like with Birch.
Boomstick: Also, remember when I said stuff about his active imagination? Well, he can use it to bring thoughts to life, spawn portals, make weapons with his mind, and fuel his doodle notebook to turn its drawings into sentient beings!
Wiz: When Hypno tried to read his mind, he stated that it was "too much to handle", and that his imagination was "insanely and impressively massive in size". With that said, we believe that reading his mind and/or imagination can drive an opponent to madness.
Boomstick: Also, he can interact with and physically harm intangible things, like ghosts, clouds, and more. A good example of this is how he beat up Ghouloc and Prince Thunder, of which are a living ghost and cloud.
Wiz: He's able to melt himself at will, and even reform back to normal with ease, like when he transformed into a blob to go through cracks in Agent 0110, and fuse with Mega-Slimers in Revenge of the Slimers.
Boomstick: He also has the power to create a forcefield with his aura, burrow underground, and even spin fast enough to cause a tornado.
Wiz: He even has limited Acausality, being able to stay the same no matter how many times Turloc changed the past and even remember all the memories from each timeline he was in, as shown in He Changed The Past...?
Boomstick: If he's ever in a ditch and his back's to the wall, he can turn invisible to cloak with his environment and hide in his jacket entirely to where he becomes weightless as if it was really empty, like a box turtle.
Wiz: He can block or redirect attacks by catching them, spinning around and then throwing it back at the enemy. In The Adventures of Matt Midway: V.G. Chaos, he was able to do this various times without slowing down or gaining fatigue, and did this with things like fire, sound and electricity.
Boomstick: To finally end it all, he can gift cartoony abilities to other objects that he picks up, albeit it's limited and wares off when it's out of his possession, sometimes sense his opponent attacking him if he focuses hard enough, and with his optimistic personality, do things like create rainbows and even cause an explosion of glittery smoke that makes everyone inside it's radius happy or fall asleep.
(Cartoon Capers - Devine-King [Ambient])
Wiz: Now that we're finished with his abilities, let's move onto his arsenal. He always carries enough weapons whenever he needs them, such as swords or mallets, to fight back against an opponent. If he so wishes, he can also disguise his explosives.
Boomstick: Where does he store these weapons, you ask? Well, it's either with hammer-space, or with his signature backpack... The Pack. It may sound uncreative, but trust me, this old thing is bottomless, and can store an entire solar system inside without ripping apart.
Wiz: That's not all that The Pack can do. It can sprout a propeller to take flight, engines to act as a jetpack, wire-connected magnets to attract metals and jewelry, or hand-held cannons that shoot out cannonballs or even explosive condiment packets.
Boomstick: Aside from that, his stick is his main weapon. (Snrk) Really? A stick? Out of all the things imaginable he could use as a main weapon, like a staff or something, WHY would he choose a stick?! (He bursts out laughing, only to slowly look at the screen behind him and gain a confused expression.) ...Did he just pierce through that asteroid with that?
Wiz: Why certainly. In fact, this stick is also strong enough to slice through metal doors with ease, and Matt can even spin it fast enough to propel into the air. He's vastly skilled with this weapon, and defeated ninjas, pirates, and Dictator Luna herself, who is a skilled martial artist only rivalled by the Mayor, in a fight with it.
Boomstick: He also has an infinite amount of pinecones for some reason, but don't be fooled. He can throw these fast enough to malfunction a machine and take down an unstable treehouse, as well as stock them in his Pinecone Gun for precision.
Wiz: Matt isn't restricted to just basic pinecones either, as he can simply replace them with Landmine-cones, which are pinecones functioned as a throwable landmine, or Water Ba-Cones, which are sensitive pinecones filled with poisonous water that can cause its target to take damage.
Boomstick: He even possesses flame-resistant boxing gloves, and a laser pointer that can slice through solid walls in his arsenal, alongside a grapple hook that can reach skyscrapers, a slingshot that can shoot away a building from Oakville to the Pacific Ocean in 5 seconds, and a tennis racket that can knock back fireballs with ease.
Wiz: With his Aktiv Reacher, he was able to stretch it from Oakville to the North Pole in 2 seconds just to grab a giant block of ice and back, and blow it back with a hand-held electric fan called the Fan-Hand.
Boomstick: He has a paintball gun made by Damion that has two separate modes that can turn into an SMG or minigun with the press of a button. While paintballs may not sting that much and not be useful in this case, his are able to cause a hole in buildings.
Wiz: This sounds weird as fuck, but he has the Long-Rocket, a safe, self-explanatory missile, and can control it's direction with horse-mounting techniques, though it will detonate when it makes contact with solid surfaces.
Boomstick: Like Rayman, he can fly into the air with his advanced kiddie hat, the Heli-Hat! It has absolutely no engine in it, and can be activated as soon as the user puts in on.
Wiz: Coming from The Adventures of Matt Midway: V.G. Chaos, he has his Mallet that, while still made of wood, is much more durable and larger than Matt's entire body, though he's still able to lift it. It's able to become metal, duplicate into two clones, come back like a boomerang, absorb or shoot electricity, and grow twice as big with enough power to cause an earthquake.
Boomstick: And he got the Silver Gauntlets from the same game, which are self-explanatory. They're made of a magical silver metal, able to punch through almost anything, like a forcefield or barrier made of mystical energy.
Wiz: In the most dire of situations, he'll whip out the Suit Check, an orb-shaped powerup containing awesome power. With this, he can activate any of its four separate functions, such as Earth, where he can use nature-based attributes to his advantage, Clay, where he can generate plastic soil mineral to mend into objects, Sonar, where he can fire shockwaves that can shatter glass, and Air, where he can shoot massive amounts of wind powerful enough to send a boulder miles away.
Boomstick: For digging purposes, he has the Drillers, hand-held drills that can burrow through dirt, mud, rocks, and even quicksand easily!
Wiz: He even has a helmet covered in spikes, an arm-mounted cannon that shoots out lasers, an ancient sword crafted by his ancestors, a strapped cosmic orb that grants him self-control of gravity, a revolver that shoots out energy beams, and a flat, deep cycle battery-sized electrochemical device that can extend electrical defense weapons to his limbs.
Boomstick: Given how he never engages in combat unless his opponent pushes him to the limit, he always has his Sky-High Shield. This baby is durable enough to withstand a building falling on it, and acts as a bounceable bubble, able to send him meters into the air every time he jumps in it!
Wiz: For evading enemies, he uses his baseball bat for reflecting attacks and umbrella for going airborne. His Punch Gun was also able to get the job done, as it sent a tree across the Earth with ease.
Boomstick: With his crappy 90s shoes he bought from Q-Bay called the Speed Shoes, it greatly boosts his speed to where he actually ran on par with Birch!
Wiz: And finally, he has an alien gun he stole from an extraterrestrial, and a bazooka that shoots explosive plushies. For vehicles, he has the Shopper 2000, a shopping cart built by Damion with advanced attributes, a go-kart that fires grease traps, and kiddie wagon that can turn into an airplane and spaceship with the press of a button.
Boomstick: For transformations, most of them are just plain costumes, like the Crusader outfit. After he dawns this, he's strapped with water balloons, water guns, explosive toilet paper rolls, a surprisingly durable cardboard sword, a tommy gun made out of a water gun that shoots darts, and a sniper made out of a water gun that also shoots darts.
Wiz: If tempted, he can turn into an off-brand Tarzan with his Jungle Form, being able to greatly boost his agility and survival skills, albeit it renders him more reckless and ignorant. His only weapon is a spear, and even then it doesn't deal that much damage.
Boomstick: His ninja outfit automatically gives him an infinite amount of ninja weapons, like shurikens, nunchucks, katanas, kunais, bos, fukiyas, and more. Sure, he has a smoke bomb to hide himself, but even without it, his stealth skills are greatly boosted.
Wiz: From the Pillow Fight episode, he has his P.F.C. suit and weaponized pillows. For protection, he's strapped with pillows and blankets all over, and uses his pillow case to glide in midair.
Boomstick: Then there's his two runner-up forms: his Monster form and Night Defender form. First, his Monster form, which is turned on by a green moon or when he's really pissed. Take that out of context and you'll have the FBI at your doorstep.
Wiz: In this form, he's the size of a giant, and uses his strength much more offensively than he does in base form. He can breathe fire, stretch his tail, blow away whole city blocks with a clap, and has roars that can split the sky, blow away clouds, and send a shockwave spanning across all of Oakville. The only problems are that he loses all rational thought, and is very patient, so it takes a while to build up.
Boomstick: But with the Night Defender form? It's a doozy. When the sun sets, he can turn into this, equipping a bizarre yet accurate choice of armor and items. First off, he has on a blanket cape, pillow covering, safety helmet, safety gloves, knee and elbow pads, night vision-goggles, and a toilet brush as his main weapon.
Wiz: While in this form, he can fly at will prior to his blanket cape, create clones, and become invisible to the naked eye. He can even go into dreams and take full control of them, like he did to Birch, Damion, Care, Kora, Tiffany, Richard, and many others when they were being taken over by Nightmare Monsters.
Pop-Up: While he can kill his opponents in their dreams, unlike Freddy Krueger, they wake up alive and well as he's automatically sent back to the physical realm with them.
Boomstick: This does wear off when the sun rises though. And, uh... yeah. That's pretty much it. Now we get to his final form: the Superhero Form. Pass me my beer.
Wiz: With either a Zero-To-Hero Bar, enough pure force, or heavy doses of radiation, he transforms into a slightly more muscular version of himself, having a classic green and black colored hero outfit with a cape, boots, and capital M on his chest.
"So... you're the punk I've heard about."
Wiz: ...Really, Boomstick?
Boomstick: Couldn't miss the opportunity, Wiz.
Wiz: Moving on, this form boosts Matt's physical capabilities to Galaxy-level power, alongside giving him invincibility towards weaker forces, flight, heat vision, and plasma manipulation. In this form, he easily contended with and defeated Overshade, of which eradicated whole cosmic webs with the wave of his hand, and he couldn't defeat him in his base form.
Boomstick: In The Adventures of Matt Midway: V.G. Chaos, it stated that him and Tentaclerous' collision shock several galaxies and eradicated all planets within a 500,000 mile radius, with him tanking all of that unscathed.
Wiz: Yes, Matt Midway is a very dedicated fighter when need be, but he isn't made for perfection.
Boomstick: Matt is really naïve and gullible, easily being tricked in the early seasons, and though he matured from this, in Will You Be My Valentine, he was oblivious towards the fact that multiple girls were about to ask him out and how Care liked him back until she yelled it out.
Wiz: To add onto that, he's very prone to cowardice, having his first reflex towards foes more powerful than him being straight-up running away, but he rarely does this, will stand his ground if his loved ones are in danger. Pathetically enough, he still sleeps with his teddy bear, and has an utter fear of heights.
Boomstick: Not to mention that he's immature and talks too much in combat, preferring to crack jokes than fight due to his child-like personality. This can serve as a real issue, as it leaves him vulnerable to sneak attacks and/or landing himself in failure.
Wiz: His laziness can also serve as a hindrance, since he normally slacks off instead of completing his tasks. In A Day Off, he spent an entire day on the couch than saving Oakville, where Turloc took over while he wasn't there.
Boomstick: The guy's really clumsy too, and his incompetence doesn't make it any better. Want an example? Well, for a majority of the series, he was unable to do simple things like actually make money, be wise with his time, remember important events because he's too busy doing something else, and study for important tests or events at school.
Wiz: He's very reckless and impulsive, sometimes relying on raw improv rather than actual intelligence, which is the reason why people like Damion constantly try to prevent him from causing or worsening a situation because of this.
Boomstick: To add onto this, he worries about others' well-being other than his own, putting his life at risk multiple times to protect them, albeit most of the time, luck comes in to save him by making it backfire on said opponent.
Wiz: When it comes to money or Zero Bars, he becomes rather greedy and selfish, and can sometimes be easily distracted by simple tricks at first. His massive pain tolerance and Toon Force don't render him invulnerable to being knocked out, harmed, or incapacitated.
Boomstick: His weapons can be ripped from his possession if he's not careful, and it takes time for him to change into his alter-egos.
Wiz: To finally complete his bio, his loud and stubborn side gets him into trouble, and this is consistent throughout the entire series, not to mention that this could blow his cover or make something worse due to his uncontrollable optimism and tenacity.
Boomstick: Still though, this kid is the poster boy for Oakville for a good reason, and if you mess with him, his loved ones, or his money, you're gonna wake up in hell.
("Oh, don't let him get you down! Sticks and stones can break bones, but words are just weak ol' sandcastles. Don't listen to him when he says you're a 'bad influence', because there's no such thing. There's only a bad inspiration and the bad result.")

Trivia[]
- Connections are being rewritten, so it's a work in progress:
- Both are optimistic, mischievous and imaginative OC protagonists of surreal shows with a cartoony shtick that switches from slice-of-life to abnormally arcane very quickly, all while sharing their role as the main character with their other allies (Matt, Birch and Damion; Sketchy, Mr. Stenzil, Penink, Clip, Index CD, Suitman, Mr. Per and Rule). They used to be completely different characters while in production (Matt was originally a character named "Maby Midway", who was before that, was overshadowed by "Super Matt" and Sketchy used to be "Pencil Ninja" before his final sketch, who was before that, a hero named "Pencil Man"), but became these icons after Void decided to go down a more creative route. Inhabiting worlds packed with Toon Force but normally residing in their respective towns located in Texas (Oakville and Greenland), they take the role as the top-tier troublemaker (Matt usually lands the town in ruins in situations that stem from simple things such as a bad rating on a comic book, and Sketchy ruins the lives of others [un]intentionally on a daily basis by annoyingly intervening on their every life crisis) that put them in the position of a criminal/outlaw, but try to maintain their everyday lives as the underdog with a grumpy next-door neighbor (Manny Ipu Lator and Mr. Stenzil), complex love life with the love interest they try too hard to impress (Care and Gleam) and unstable lifestyle with disasters at every corner. While not looking very threatening for their appearances, both have a large history of not only feats of power, but unexpected crimes as well (Matt caused Oakville to turn into a toxic waste dump, took it to the artic where it froze, and transformed it into a battleground for war; Sketchy unintentionally robbed a bank, committed tax fraud and sold Greenland to Russia for his teddy bear). The two work in facilities with a poor working atmosphere (Oakville Public School and The Post Office) and follow the orders of aggressive, no-nonsense bosses (Mr. Jonathan and Mr. Per), of which are too cheap to better their establishments. They dawn iconic pieces of clothing (Matt's jacket and Sketchy's scarf), have experience in multiple careers, and battle big-bads on a daily basis (e.g. Turloc, Slimelossus, Big Bite Boy; Davelgo, Lappered, Clip). They have a strong rivalry against the big, strong bully (Charlie and Stave) where while they get their asses kicked, they succeed in besting them during challenges. They're always accompanied by their anthropomorphic dogs (Birch and Scribby) who, despite their tendency to slack off, are loyal to the very end (Birch stuck with Matt to venture across the world and Scribby refused to leave Sketchy when he fought Boardlord). Both are mostly prone to acting on impulse, which causes most of their problems, as their smarter, cautious and more intelligent allies (Damion and Penink) try to prevent this, but to no avail. They've saved the world several times, and even entire galaxies from large, serious alien tyrants (Overshade and Boardlord) who threatened to enslave everyone with their armies, tech, brute strength, and massive weapons of destruction (The Destructor and The Station-Er-Ray). Despite their positivity and generosity, they have distasteful traits (Matt's greed and Sketchy's arrogance) that rarely show, but have shown to make them look like bad people (Matt becomes selfishly ruthless when it comes to things like money and Zero Bars, and Sketchy is prone to letting his ego get the best of him, of which causes him to do extreme things to prove his "awesomeness"). When in sticky situations, they use their imaginations as an advantage (e.g. forming abnormal plans, materializing thoughts, bringing drawings to life), as well as their wacky, self-taught and versatile fighting styles/motives. In spite of not coming off as the sharpest tool in the shed due to their minor clumsiness, they happen to be very intelligent (Matt forms complex, tactical and unorthodox schemes on a daily basis for a majority of his tasks, and Sketchy is a master of trickery, being able to illusion others into his traps or pranks), with their skills and smarts mostly originating from their experience in multiple careers and adventures.
