Death Battle Fanon Wiki

Description[]

Death Battle Blog: Season 1, Episode 1: You've seen some of them race, now watch most of them kill each other. The famous supercars of the many eras of Batman come together in an all out battle to determine which is the best Bat vehicle, but only one is truly the greatest.

Introduction[]

Aqua: The Batmobile. A essential to Batman ever since day one, this car has seen many interpretations over the years.

Octo: But while you've seen a no research race between a few of them, how about a researched battle between most of them? The 1966 Batmobile, Adam West's trusty all round vehicle.

Aqua: The Burton Batmobile, Michael Keaton's legendary aerodynamic machine.

Octo: The DCAU Batmobile, the enhanced animated version of the 80's vehicle.

Aqua: The Batmobile Beyond, Terry McGinnis' futuristic flyer.

Octo: The Dark Knight Tumbler, the heavy armoured tank of the Nolan trilogy.

Aqua: And the Arkham Batmobile, the... other heavy armour tank from the Arkham video games. I'm Aqua, she's Octoling, and it's our job to analyse their weapons, armour and... uh... driver's skills to see who would win a Death Battle.

1966 Batmobile[]

Aqua: The 60s. A decade who's weirdness was only matched three decades later by the 1990s, this era was a time of hippy culture and above all else, the dawn of a new age of superheroes.

Octo: And among this "Silver Age" group of modern heroes, at least, modern at the time, was a new Batman. But not a change of the character under the mask. Instead, it was a change of media.

Aqua: Enter the Batman TV series, in which Batman and his sidekick, Robin, went across their town of Gotham City, stopping criminals and their wacky yet evil schemes. Safe to say, despite the campiness of the plots and the show as a whole, people loved it back then.

Octo: Hell, they still love it now. Who knew such a campy show would become, and stay such a hit!? But we're not here for a Batman Battle Royale, oh no, we're looking at the vehicle that got him and Robin to the right place at the right time. Well, when they weren't green screen running past traffic, heh heh.

Aqua: Yeah, word of advice... DON'T do that in real life kids, at least, the running in traffic part. Still, like you said, this isn't a Batman battle, which is why we're looking at the 60s Batman's equally legendary 60s Batmobile!

Octo: This sleek black beauty is powered by a V8 Atomic powered jet turbine that allows it to reach speeds over 200 miles per hour. For the time, that shit was impressive. Nowadays, eh, not so much. Well, at least it makes up for something.

Aqua: That would be the 60s Batmobile's overwhelming weight. While most cars at the time weighed around 1,500 kilogrammes, this Lincoln weighed almost two and a half thousand kilogrammes. Maybe it was because of all the gadgets Batman has stored in his car, of which there are an unbelievable amount.

Octo: I'll say, he has to slug that thing around faster than 200mph. To compare that to a modern day car, a Bugatti Veyron has a top speed reaching 260mph, and weighs over 1,800 kilos. Yep, the Batmobile is over 60 miles per hour slower, and weighs 700kg more. He's got a Le Mans Prototype added on top of that. Sorry, what was that about gadgets again?

Aqua: Trust in you to get carried away with the car stuff.

Octo: Hey, I can't help it if I'm interested in the subject. I play a lot of racing games you know! Whatever, get on with Adam's car and it's toys.

Aqua: Right, the 60s-mobile has a ton of Bat-gadgets to help with its Bat-Adventures, and yes, there are more of these terrible Bat-puns to come in the next few Bat-minutes.

Octo: Ugghhhhh, stop. The West Batmobile comes equipped with a bulletproof windshield that prevents Batman and Robin from being sniped through the glass, but alongside that it can make sharper turns quicker with the Emergency Bat-Turn Parachute, deactivate similar tech thanks to the Anti-Mechanical Bat Ray, and even magnetise itself with the Super-Powered Bat-Magnet. All of these are legitimately called that.
