They may be shy and hate fighting but they'll be doing it anyways! in this fight between The Small Adventurer and The Divine Introvert will Matt Zorrilla be able to uphold his family's name or will Athela punt the mouse far, far away? FInd out on... DEATH BATTLE!
Interlude[]
Antonio Cheseington Upholds His Family's Name In DEATH BATTLE![]

Z Long ago in that of a land far away lived an entire country of mice, tho this country was small, it was fierce and was not to be messed with, with their small stature and sharp blade these mice were tough to take down in battle, and among these fearsome mice, stood the Cheseington family, a family of royal blood known for being the most brutal amongst mice, and tho these mice were fearsome and brutal that side only showed up during war, without they were kind and welcoming, accepting of others.
P,e Tho mostly peaceful other races would take them for granted, seeing as they were small others thought they would be easy targets to enslave, hunt, and kill for their pleasure but when they attacked these little guys they were served a platter of justice, these small guys made a name for themselves but the one who may have made the biggest name for themselves would be Antonio Cheseington, or better known as Prince Antonio Louise Maraice Marcus Darkus Matt Zorella Cheseington The Third The Second, or Squeaks.
S, *Grabs his head* I think I just had a stroke reading that.
Z Antonio was never gravely injured during many of his fights, people knew he was the son of a powerful family and as such not many mice wanted to be his friends, but even if he was a beast on the battlefield Antonio was kind hearted and shy, he hated fighting but if that’s what it took to keep his people safe he would do it.
P,e Antonio was always the odd one out at school, nobody would dare to talk with him, the son of the most dangerous family known to mice, On the day that the school would be pairing Antonio and the rest of the students up had arrived, everyone would be assigned three other people of which they would be adventuring with for the rest of they’re lives, but just like before no other mouse would agree to partner up with him and so the school would take measures to make sure he would be assigned a team.
S,l They reached out to many other schools, asking them if they had anyone who had been left out of the group making process, this turned out to be a good idea as many other schools had this same problem, so the school took their pick on who they would allow on Antonio’s team, and they must have really not cared because they paired him up with two of his natural predators.
Z The four members were introduced to each other, A Mouse, An Owl, A Cat, And a Dog, the team was a mess, Antonio attempted to talk to them but was only able to get a response from the Dog, a German Shepherd named Teddy, he was clad in armor and oh so very energetic.
P,e Antonio would try to stay clear of the other two, seeing as how both were predators to his kind, but he was able to strike up a conversation with the Owl, where he would learn her name “Owlivia” in their conversation they learned they had a lot in common, but that conversation ended when they all had decided to eat their lunch and she had packed mice, some of which he had known.
Z Tho they had a rough first impression, they had grown to care for each other, and when they were sent on their first mission it didn’t end in a complete dumpster fire, it had actually gone quite smoothly, even if their mission was to fight a band of goblins.
P,e On their travels, the group would make friends with another dog who claimed to be named Charlie, but after only a few weeks he had betrayed their trust and laid the cat who was named Luna and Owlivia to the ground, only being stopped when Teddy threw Antonio right at Charlie letting Antonio slice his wrist clean off his arm.
Z Even if the team had rough times from every now and then they worked well together, always protecting each other, they were like a huge family.
S,l but enough with the lovey dovey background yes? Let’s get right into the cool stuff!
P,e Antonio is a wiz with the sword, capable of pulling off feats of skill most humans could only wish to do, like battling multiple skilled swordsmen head to head, coming out of most fight with only a few scratches.
Z He’s also no push over, he’s capable of lifting 200 times his own weight, shown when he lifted up his team member Teddy, who weighs just around 135 pound with his armor on, and he lifted him above his head.
P,e He’s also pried open the jaws of a wolf and kept himself from being chewed up, a wolves natural biting strength is almost 400 pounds, meaning he would have to push himself way more than normal just so he wouldn't be eaten alive.
S,l Uh huh… being eaten alive you say?
Z He’s also punched a fully grown human with enough force to knock them off their feet onto the ground and knock them unconscious, all in just a single hit, but with his great strengths he also has many flaws such as lacking any range, making sure that if he wants to hope to attack anyone he has to be very close to do it.
S,l He also has no way to counter magic users, besides being a hard target to hit, and he’s also vulnerable and takes more damage if he’s hit by magic, and he’s also a team player, Antonio strives on working with others, they can get him closer to a target while protecting him and once he’s in striking range boom, his Achilles heel is decimated.
P,e And so even if he is small, he’s a monster on the field, I guess It’s true that great things really do come in small packages
S,l… That’s what sh-
P,e Shut up
Athela Shows Just How Divine She Is In DEATH BATTLE![]

(Cue: God-Shattering Star)
Puppy: Born to Thaddeus and Hilda Canmore, Athela, there young daughter, was set to live an interesting, albeit simple life.
Kitty: But of course, nothing can go right for once, and both Athela’s parents (and her brother to add to that!) are killed by various means, and little Athela was set to live with one of her two remaining relatives- her uncle and her grandmother. At the time, she adored her uncle, and decided to go with him, unknowing of the plans he had in store.
Puppy: Enter Tomas Gaunter, lord of a far away land and Athela’s uncle. Having gained her trust at an early age, the perfect chance came to him after his sister and her husband wound up dead.
Kitty: But what did he need the “chance” to do? Why, he wanted to harness the Divine Energy in Athela’s blood!
Puppy: Divine Energy is a powerful source appearing in the blood of vessels created by the goddess Divinus~ and Athela’s mother was one of those vessels, so the energy was passed down to her.
Kitty: So Gaunter wanted to harness the energy and turn Athela into a god-shattering weapon of war. However, he’d have to put his niece through gruesome experiments… which he agreed to without thinking it over.
Puppy: But at the last moment, Gaunter realized the magnitude of his actions and released his niece, at the cost of his own life.
Kitty: Yeah, that’s great and all, but Gaunter’s actions completely trashed Athela’s life! Her hair was completely drained of its color and she lost the will to live and became a reclusive, timid introvert!
Puppy: And Athela, now in critical condition, hopelessly made way to her the house of her grandmother, her last relative.
Kitty: She would spend the next two years of her life, staying in solitude with her grandmother, until the day when rumors arose that Gaunter’s men were still on the prowl, now looking for their former test subject.
Puppy: So Athela’s grandmother had four people she paid in advance escort her granddaughter, whom didn’t know about the four, to the land of Dunbar, where she could unravel the reason behind her existence.
Kitty: Those four were Alexander, a chivalrous knight with a loyal mindset, Silas, a former noble with a witty attitude belying a terrible past, Lumiere, the heir to Oakheart’s throne and Eira, the axe-wielding future duchess of Dunbar. They eventually briefed Athela on their quest to gain a magical weapon of legend, the Divine Blade.
Puppy: So the five set out to gain the blade and help Athela decipher her past.
Kitty: But when they were gone, some shit went down in Oakheart and Athela’s grandmother was deceived by rumors. Gaunter’s men didn’t show up, and instead a new army approached the castle, and their leader, a giant man clad in black armor slaughtered the royal family and demanded control of the holy land of Oakheart.
Puppy: At that point, Athela and the gang had already braved multiple challenges and were right at the temple where the Divine Blade was sorted. Athela had also warmed up to her teammates, having formed special bonds between each one.
Kitty: And when Athela entered the temple, she picked up the blade, and a vision swept through her mind. A loud voice explained her past and the meaning of the horrible experiments conducted on her. She was briefed on the divine energy in her body, the power of the divine blade, and finally, the voice said that she should return to Oakheart. Athela humbly obliged and the gang traveled the path all the way back!
Puppy: When they had returned to their humble abode, it was in shambles. Houses burnt and multiple killed by the mysterious black Knight’s wrath. The five, after questioning a villager, barged into the palace, fought of knights, and eventually struck the Black Knight down. They soon unmasked him, and there was nothing under the mask.
Kitty: And then Lumiere, who seemed like a side character up until now, explains what he did. He used magic to control the suit and kill his parents so he could take the throne. He also helped Athela so he could have an excuse to get out of town and not be blamed for the situation. He had the other four cornered, but Athela, Silas and Eira managed to get away. Unfortunately, Alexander was captured.
Puppy: The remaining three, before splitting into separate paths, promised to meet again. Five years later, Athela had finally trained with her sword and was ready to reunite with everyone and strike Lumiere down!
Kitty: But now, let’s go into what this girl can do!
Weapons and Powers[]
- The Divine Blade: A legendary blade infused with the blood of Divinus. This sword is capable of extending to long heights and pulling the blade apart to work like scissors. However, only one who has a piece of Divinus in them can wield it. Said blade is imbued with the power to heal the user. The blade also has the ability to ignore durability and invincibility, making it very useful against opponents stronger than the user.
- Hunting Dagger: A small, somewhat dull dagger that is used for killing animals and enemies alike. However, Athela does not like to do the former.
- Lance of Flames: A mystical, flame imbued lance capable of attacking opponents that are far away and spitting fire from the tip. Anyone hit by the flames receives significant knockback.
- Hex Shield: A medium gray shield capable of preventing reality warping and protecting the user from it. Is also capable of redirecting projectiles such as arrows.
- Absorption Amulet: A small amulet capable of absorbing energy-based attacks.
- Magic: Ethereal abilities capable of multiple things.
- Fire Magic: Spells capable of manipulating fire. Athela has, in the past, created fireballs and even full-scale tornadoes out of fire.
- Chrono Magic: Magic capable of slowing down time for 10 seconds. Athela has not learned any other spells.
- ThunderSpear: A large spear that, whatever it impales, is zapped to the extreme.
- Desperation: When nearing death, Athela is given a boost in strength, speed and durability.
- Glass Cannon: A status effect, that, when activated, greatly enhances Athela’s strength and speed, but lowers her durability by a great amount.
- Meat Shield: Trading speed for strength, another status effect that, when Athela pushes a switch on her armor, her armor envelops her body completely, greatly enhances its size and, strength and durability, but lowers speed by a grand amount.
- Ruptured Blood: Channeling all of the Divine Energy stored in her blood, Athela creates a golden javelin that, when it hits an enemy, completely ensnares and smothers them in illumination until there’s nothing left. However, using this attack and taking the energy from her blood kills Athela, so it is only used as a last resort.
Feats[]
- Athela has reacted to Lumiere’s light spells, which are capable of moving 50% the speed of light
- Took a slash to the neck from a different Divine Weapon. The first wielder of the other Divine Weapon was capable of easily slicing though the hardest materials
- Capable of trading blows with the Black Knight, who could smash through stone and kill a goddess
- Incredibly agile
- Survived being impaled, electrocuted and burned as part of the experiments
- A previous user of the Divine Blade could cleave through a moon-sized attack. However, the blade’s power weakens further down the bloodline, so Athela should scale to at least a quarter of the feat
- Managed to harm an intangible being
- Managed to lift a barrel full of stones
- Pushed a heavily armored Oakheart Knight above the treeline
- Barely survived an island-busting blast with the Hex Shield
- Survived a fall down a mountain
Faults[]
- Incredibly reluctant to fight
- Incredibly inexperienced
- Physically weak and heavily reliant on weapons
- Hex Shield is especially weak to fire-based attacks
- Clumsy and tends to mess up in combat
- Not much of a strategist, tends to not think things over
