Intro[]
Carl: When exploring our vast world, you may find many treasures and powerful items. But sometimes, these objects can be cursed and have horrible consequences.
Yazo: And sometimes, the cool ass relic ends up owning you. Like with Skull Kid, the host of Majora's mask from Legend of Zelda.
Carl: And Nightmare, the host of Soul Edge from Soul Calibur.
Yazo: He's Carl and I'm Yazo!
Carl: And it's our job to analyze their armor, weapons, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle!
Skull Kid plays Saria's Song in Death Battle![]
Carl: Link. He's undergone many names. The Hero of Hyrule, the Juror of Courage, Legendary Hero, the Wind Waker, the Hero of Twilight, Chosen Hero, Champion of the Wild, and many others. But one of his earlier and probably one of his most famous titles is the Hero of Time. After the events of Ocarina of Time and with Ganondorf sealed away-
Yazo: For about a day.
Carl: -Link was sent back to his own time and warns the royal family of Hyrule about Ganondorf's treachery and eventual betrayal, thwarting Ganondorf's plan before he could even begin it. After Ganondorf as been properly warned, Link sets out on a journey with his horse to search for his fairy companion, Navi.
Yazo: Navi? That little fairy that just DOES NOT shut up?
Navi: Hey! Listen! Listen! Hey! Listen! Hey! Listen! Hey!-
The sounds of a shotgun being fired can be heard, which causes Navi to be strangely silent afterwards.
Yazo: Ugh, finally. I've been wanting to do that for years.
Carl: Uh, anyways... his search for the fairy took longer than he anticipated. Several months in, and Link finds himself being ambushed by a strange small imp wearing a peculiar mask. This strange imp is Skull Kid. And that stranger mask? That is known as Majora's Mask. This child ended up stealing from Link. The Hero of Time attempted to chase Skull Kid, only to end up in a strange parallel world known as Termina.
Yazo: Strap in folks, cause this one is a doozy! Y'see, long ago, before the land of Termina was split into four, this Skull Kid was friends with four giants that guarded the different corners of Termina. During an event known as the Carnival of Time, the giants casually announced that they were splitting the place in four, told the reisdents to call them if they needed the giants, and then fucked off.
Carl: Skull Kid was understandably saddened by their sudden departure. Feeling alone, Skull Kid took his anger out on everyone, but this would soon backfire on him. The people of Termina would call upon their giants and they answered. The giants offered Skull Kid a choice. Leave or be killed. Scared and sad, Skull Kid fled and "returned to the heavens" according to Anju's Grandmother.
Yazo: But soon enough, Skull Kid was back in Termina. Two fairy siblings, Tatl and Tael, stumble upon the Skull Kid, who was taking shelter from the rain under a tree. He explains his plight to the fairies, saying how his friends had abandoned him, making the fairies feel sympathetic for the kid. They huddle together for warmth and a bond is formed between Skull Kid and two glowing lights with wings. At least they're not as annoying as Navi.
Navi: Hey! Listen!
Yazo: OH DAMN IT! I DIDN'T KILL IT THE FIRST TIME!?
Another shotgun round is fired, and Navi goes silent again.
Carl: Later, Skull Kid found a wandering mask salesman and ambushed him. There Skull Kid found a peculiar mask. Majora's Mask, whose history is just as cursed at the design etched onto the mask.
Yazo: Y'see, Majora's Mask is one evil and powerful mask. Once used for hexing rituals by an unknown ancient tribe, it actually contains a sentient being known as Majora. Other than that, we don't actually know much about this mask. Other than the fact that it was so powerful, that the ancients feared its power and sealed it away.
Carl: Which really makes me question the intentions of the Happy Mask Salesman. If he knew how much power this mask held and why it was sealed away, why the hell did he take it? Or better yet, why'd he walk through a forest that most certaintly had dangerous things?
Yazo: This is a Nintendo game, the same company that made Bowser and Mario compete in kart racing even though their supposedly mortal enemies. I doubt Nintendo really thought it through.
Carl: ...Fair enough. After acquiring Majora's Mask, Skull Kid immediately placed it upon his own face where the mask worked its magic... literally. Using Skull Kid's memories, along with a bit of its own cruelty, the mask managed to create an entire other world, which was an alternate version of Termina. After jumping the Hero of Time, Skull Kid stole Epona and the Ocarina of Time and ran off.
Yazo: Then he killed Epona and fled into the alternate version of Termina.
Carl: He didn't- we- I- It's not confirmed that he killed Epona. All he says is that he "got rid of" Epona. He could've just tied the horse to a tree for all we know.
Yazo: If I recall, we haven't seen Epona since that game, right?
Carl: ...Minish Cap, Twilight Princess, Breath of the Wild. All three of the games I just mentioned, Epona is in it in some form or shape.
Yazo: Aren't, like, none of those games part of this specific timeline?
Carl: Skull Kid is also in Twilight Princess and is heavily implied to be the one from Majora's Mask, considering that it was also referenced in Skull Kid's moveset in Hyrule Warriors.
Yazo: Damn it!
Carl: Anyways, with his two fairy friends, Skull Kid became Majora's puppet, wreaking havoc among the residents of Termina with a plethora of abilities that would make most run away in fear of the dark power at Majora's fingertips.
Yazo: When it comes to Skull Kid himself, he really only has two things that could be considered to be part of his arsenal. For one, his flute. He can shoot darts out of it like a blow dart. And for his second ability, he can summon puppets to fight for him. Everything else is solely Majora.
Carl: His most well-known ability is his telekinesis for... what I hope is obvious reasons. He could curse the land of Termina and affect the weather, poisoning water, and similar curses. He can control fire, electricity, shoot lasers, and throw energy balls from his hands. And he can seal powerful beings, like the Four Giants, into masks to trap them.
Yazo: He can conjure whips and create metal tops out of nothing. But even if Skull Kid is killed, Majora can continue fighting. It has a few abilities of its own. Like the fact that anyone who wears the mask is possessed by Majora itself. It can create bodies for itself, which are its various forms.
Carl: Other than the basic mask form, it has two forms. But even without those forms, the mask can summon tentacles and use them to fight. Then there's Majora's Incarnation. This gives Majora an arm, legs, and even a new head. It fights with strange dance moves and similar moves. And then there's Majora's Wrath, where it takes a much more human appearance and having whip-like tentacles that shoot from its hands. And these forms should have the same powers that the mask does as well.
Yazo: Especially considering that in the game Hyrule Warriors, Skull Kid uses multiple of these form's powers, so it should be no stretch to assume that the forms can use the mask's powers as well. Now, with his arsenal out of the way, let's talk how much power Majora TRULY has at its... tentacle-tips?
Carl: That's... gross.
Yazo: Skull Kid's most famous feat is when he used his telekinesis to pull down the moon, which ended up causing planetary destruction. Not to mention that the kid was perfectly fine after this.
Carl: The moons weighs about 80 sextillion tons by the way. That's 22 zeroes. And this caused planetary desctruction, but Skull Kid was perfectly fine after this, meaning Skull Kid could survive having the moon exploding, basically in his face. Additionally, Skull Kid should scale to Link himself, who managed to dodge Beamos' lasers. These beams should work similarly to actual lasers and puts Skull Kid at relativistic speeds.
Yazo: And Majora scales to the same stuff. In fact, Majora's even stronger! Even after it was seperated from Skull Kid, it managed to create an entire star, similar to the sun! Hell, if Link hadn't stopped Majora, not even the four giants could've stopped the moon from falling under Majora's influence. This means Majora's telekinesis is likely a lot stronger than Skull Kid's.
Carl: And it's explicitly stated that Link needed the Fierce Deity mask in order to defeat Majora. Not to mention that the stamina on this kid is insane. Skull Kid pulled the moon down for three days straight without rest. Most humans would've died from this. And Majora likely doesn't have an extinguishable stamina limit.
Yazo: But for as impressive as Skull Kid or Majora is, they do have their downside. Skull Kid is rather careless and reckless, preferring to mess with his foes before actually trying to kill them. Similarly, Majora is overconfident. It gave Link the Fierce Deity mask just to give the boy a fighting chance, which led to its defeat. This thing created its own worst enemy.
Carl: But overconfident or not, when facing Majora, whether or not Skull Kid is wearing, you may want to pray to the sky, fore it may be falling upon you soon.
"…Everyone has gone away, haven't they? Will you play… with me? You don't have any masks left to share, do you? Well, let's do something else. Let's play good guys against bad guys… Yes, let's play that. Are you ready? You're the bad guy. And when you're bad, you just run. That's fine, right? Well… Shall we play?"
Nightmare shows Death Battle the madness that lies within![]
Note: Due to Soul Calibur's confusing timelines, Siegfried Schatauffen will be used as Soul Edge's user for the sake of simplicity, but feats and abilities from other timelines will be factored in, with the exception of Night Terror, who will be excluded for fairness.
Carl: Forged by an unnamed blacksmith, a sword that was used to slaughter many, bathing it in blood, hatred, and death. So much so that the sword developed a soul. A malevolent spirit known as Inferno. It possessed the ability to take over the will of the user. Despite this, the sword's first wielder, the Hero King, Algol, had too strong of a will and used the sword to unite the world into peace. This sword is known as Soul Edge.
Yazo: Despite this, Algol's son, Arcturus, decided to fuck everything up and grew jealous of his father and the power he wielded. So, he stole the sword and immediately fell under its possession. In a heartbroken and desperate battle, Algol struck down his son and defeated the sword.
Carl: Algol swore vengeance against the cursed blade and used the blade to forge one that served as its antithesis, Soul Calibur.
Yazo: Get it? That's what the series is named? Eh? It's stupid, I know.
Carl: Still better than any pun you've made. Soul Edge was lost for several centuries, being wielded by various beings. A pharaoh who used it to bring about a cataclysm, a warrior named Necrid who was then pulled into something called the Astral Chaos, a Germanic warlord who was hired as a warlord by the Romans, a Saxon king, who started a war. Most of these wielders being defeated by the Soul Calibur.
Yazo: Keep in mind that most of these wielders all existed centuries ago. But most of the records are spotty at best. But then we get some definitive stuff by the 16th century. The sword appeared on auction, disguising itself as two swords instead of one. Once the sword turned swords were bought by an English curio dealer.
Carl: But this unknown curio dealer was attacked by the dreaded pirate known as Cervantes de Leon, who took the swords for himself, but was possessed by them as well. Cervantes killed his crew, before slaughtering the population of a Spanish port-town. For the next twenty-five years, waiting for the birth of the Child of the Cursed Sword, but Cervantes was soon killed by a holy warrior sent by the god of forging, Hephaestus, and a demon huntress.
Yazo: Ugh, please tell me that neither of them took the sword?
Carl: No, neither of them did...
Yazo: Ugh, good.
Carl: ...But then it was found by a German knight named Siegfried Schatauffen.
Yazo: GOD DAMN IT! Holy shit, this sword got more owners than Zeus had love affairs!
Carl: No, not really. Don't worry though, this is Soul Edge's most famous owner and the one we will be focusing on. The German knight tried to take the sword from Cervantes' dead body, but, in an attempt to restore himself, Inferno possessed the body and fought Siegfried to see who would seize ownership over the sword.
Yazo: Despite Inferno's best efforts, he was no match for the German's might. Guten Tag, dein Arsch wurde gerade verprügelt! *ahem* Sorry, been doing some Duolingo, had to flex my new German vocabulary. After defeating Inferno, Siegfried managed to grasp Soul Edge. But Inferno had the last laugh.
Carl: The knight was unable to control Soul Edge's power and was corrupted by it. Eventually, Siegfried lost control of his body and took upon a new identity. Nightmare, the wielder, host, and living incarnation of Soul Edge.
Yazo: Nightmare's pretty damn cool for a glorified medieval version of the Thing. But all jokes aside, this freaky knight's got some badass techniques.
Carl: Of course, Soul Edge is a powerful sword and Nightmare is an expert at wielding it, along with the fact that Nightmare is pretty good when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. Not to mention that Soul Edge can corrupt people by making physical contact with a foe.
Yazo: But Soul Edge grants Nightmare a lot more powers than that! For instance, he can summon fire to burn people or add fire properties to his attacks. He can change his appearance with Soul Edge, create thunderstorms, summon electric charges to power his attacks, and send people into the Astral Plane.
Carl: He can cut between dimensions, absorb the souls of people he kills, manipulate his host's memories, drive people insane, conjure illusions, self-destruct to destroy Soul Edge and its host, sense dark power, absorb evil energy, resurrect the dead, communicate telepathically, travel through dimensions, and several other powers.
Yazo: Just by his powers alone, you can already tell that Nightmare is a pretty powerful foe. And we haven't even gotten into his feats! Speaking of...
Carl: Soul Edge has done many impressive things, such as fighting Siegfried on multiple occasions, being equal in power to Soul Calibur, created a 32 kilometer radius storm, shoot a beam that could pierce through clouds, and the most impressive feat is Nightmare being on par with the entity known as Abyss. Hell, Nightmare even defeated Abyss.
Yazo: Abyss was capable of creating a large scale solar eclipse. Solar eclipses are just planets that engulf the brightness of the sun, basically meaning that Soul Edge can beat characters who can create entire planets. Heck, he can become more powerful with each soul he consumes.
Carl: Nightmare is one of the most powerful characters in Soul Calibur, being above characters such as Ivy Valentine-
Yazo: *wolf whistle*
Carl: ...Ivy Valentine, who managed to kick away a point-blank bullet from Cervantes. In order to do something like this, you'd have to be moving at nearly Mach 3. And Nightmare is vastly superior to Ivy, along with other characters such as Taki, Cervantes, and Sophitia.
Yazo: But for as powerful as he is, Nightmare's track record isn't perfect. For one, his host is capable of escaping if defeated and Soul Edge breaking will put a permanent end to Nightmare's reign of terror. Not to mention he's been bested a lot. He's been beaten by Siegfried, Pyrrha, and a few others.
Carl: But good luck trying. Because I believe the blood that Soul Edge has spilled onto the ground speaks for itself. Inferno and the blade it possesses will show the madness that lies within.
"Blood! Darkness! I shall drown the world in both!"
Pre-Death Battle[]
Carl: Alright, the combatants are set and we've run the data through all possibilities! Let's end this debate once and for all!
Yazo: And right now, it's time for a DEATH BATTLEEEEE!!!

Death Battle![]
In the cold of the night, in the land of Termina, one can look up to see the beautiful night sky... or at least, you usually could. Right now, all that could be seen was the moon growing closer to the planet's surface. Upon the top of the clock tower, a small imp with a peculiar mask upon his face was looking down upon the land of Termina, laughing to himself.
Skull Kid with Majora's Mask upon his face glanced along the land as he felt the presence of the moon slowly growing closer as he slowly pulled it down. He hadn't seen that stupid fairy boy in quite a while now. Maybe he'd gotten scared and ran off to make peace with whatever God or Goddess he believed in. It made Skull Kid giddy, laughing out loud.
But suddenly, Skull Kid noticed a change. Someone new had entered the land of Termina. He could sense the power that this new person held. It was quite impressive. Intrigued, Skull Kid teleported closer to the source of the power he detected. He appeared atop a tree and glanced down, looking through the trees to find the figure that was giving off such dark power.
Nightmare, the Azure Knight and wielder of Soul Edge, stopped in his tracks. He immediately turned to where Skull Kid was standing, pointing his sword towards the imp.
"That mask... it exudes such evil power... and that power is wasted on a foolish child!" Nightmare shouted, to which Skull Kid responded with laughter, but didn't say anything. Annoyed, Nightmare leapt at Skull Kid and prepared to swing Soul Edge.
FIGHT![]
Nightmare swung Soul Edge at Skull Kid, but the imp cartwheeled out of the way, leading to Nightmare to chop through the tree's branches. Nightmare landed next to Skull Kid and punched him, throwing the Skull Kid off of the tree. Nightmare tried to jump down and stab Skull Kid, but the wearer of Majora's Mask teleported out of the way.
Skull Kid reappeared a few feet away and threw several energy balls from his hands right at Nightmare, who blocked them with Soul Edge. Electricity begins to surround around Nightmare's body, before he stands up straight.
"Hate!" He shouts, before releasing a crimson energy ball towards Skull Kid, which slammed into the Skull Kid and threw him through several trees. The mask's host was quick to float back up before lifting several trees with his telekinesis, uprooting them from the ground and hurling them at Nightmare, who was running towards Skull Kid.
Nightmare slashed through several trees, before being crushed by another one. More trees were piled up on top of Nightmare, before they were all quickly turned to ash by a pillar of fire. Nightmare rushed towards Skull Kid.
"Burn!" Nightmare shouted before as he delivered a vertical slash that smashed Skull Kid into the ground. Nightmare was about to stab Skull Kid with his sword, but Skull Kid managed to float out of the way, before shooting Nightmare in the back of his head with a laser from Majora's Mask. Nightmare was thrown through more trees, but quickly got back up.
"Hee, hee, hee! What fun, what fun!" Skull Kid said gleefully. Nightmare raised his claw hand and smashed it against the ground, creating a temor that sent a shockwave towards Skull Kid, but the imp floated upwards to avoid it. Skull Kid raised a hand towards the sky, which began to be filled with gray storm clouds. Nightmare looked up at the swirling clouds above.
"I will cleanse your sins with your blood." The Azure Knight uttered as Skull Kid looked down at the Soul Edge wielding knight.
"Uh-huh. Sure. Whatever." Skull Kid muttered before pointing at Nightmare. From above, a lightning bolt came down towards Nightmare, who swung Soul Edge and intercepted it, blocking the lightning bolt. Skull Kid fired another laser from Majora's eyes, which Nightmare blocked with one of his hands. Soul Edge suddenly surrounded itself with fire, before Nightmare swung the blade and sent a wave of fire towards Skull Kid.
The wave of fire slammed into Skull Kid and threw the imp into the air, towards the Clock Tower. Skull Kid slammed into the side of the Clock Tower. Suddenly, everything but Skull Kid, the tower, and the moon above was engulfed in darkness. He looked down to see a crowd of people below, yelling and screaming at him.
"HE'S A NUISANCE!" "A HERETIC UPON THE LAND!" "STOP HIS MISDEEDS!" "CALL UPON THE GIANTS!"
The crowd kept repeating several anger-filled yells of protest, calling upon the four giants. Eventually, the crowd vanished, but Skull Kid could still hear them yelling. Replacing them, the Four Giants appeared in front of him. One of the Giants reached out towards Skull Kid. Suddenly, the Giant was replaced by Nightmare about to stab him with Soul Edge, having used an illusion to trick Skull Kid and then leapt at the imp.
Skull Kid snickered as he easily avoided the stab, leading to Nightmare to stab into the Clock Tower and hang off of it. Skull Kid and Nightmare both threw energy balls at each other, several of them colliding in the air and exploding. Some of them hit Nightmare and Skull Kid, while the rest hit the tower around Nightmare or flew off into the distance.
"Just look above you... If it's something that can be stopped, just try to stop it!" Skull Kid said, before ascending up to the top of the Clock Tower. Nightmare began to scale upwards as well, using Soul Edge and his claw to stab into the side of the tower, climbing up it. After a bit, Nightmare reached the top and climbed onto it.
Nightmare looked up to see Skull Kid, cackling to himself. Skull Kid pointed upwards with a sneer. Nightmare looked up to see the moon rapidly descending, falling down and growing closer to the Clock Tower. Nightmare crouched down, before leaping upwards towards the moon. Nightmare swung his sword, making contact with the moon and-
KAAAABOOOOOOOM!!!
-The moon was slashed in half by Soul Edge, leading to the two halves to split, creating an explosion in the process. Then, the two halves of the moon fell apart and fell down next to the Clock Tower, causing the very Earth to shake under the weight of the split-apart moon. Nightmare began to fall downward, before being caught out of the air by Skull Kid's telekinesis. Skull Kid brought Nightmare closer to himself, but not close enough for Nightmare to slash at him.
"You've. Ruined. EVERYTHING!" Skull Kid yelled, before lifting Nightmare upwards and sending him down with his telekinesis, slamming the Azure Knight all the way through the Clock Tower, all the way to the ground floor. Skull Kid split the Clock Tower into several pieces and lifted them all up, before trying to slam them all into Nightmare.
Nightmare swung Soul Edge, cutting right through dimensions to create a large opening for all of the thrown pieces to fall through. Suddenly, from the opening, several summoned Puppets appeared and begin to batter and swing at Nightmare, but Nightmare surrounded his sword with electricity and swung it all around himself, slicing through most of the Puppets. The remaining ones were soon burnt to a crisp by Nightmare's fire powers.
Skull Kid floated down from above, seething with rage.
"You were fun at first, but now I'M MAD!" Skull Kid shouted, before thrusting a hand towards Nightmare. The screen began to fill with psychedelic effects as Nightmare suddenly stumbled, looking dazed. In a matter of moments, Skull Kid sealed Nightmare away into a mask, sitting next to Soul Edge.
Skull Kid lowered to the ground to try and pick the mask up, but it suddenly vanished. Nightmare reappeared behind Skull Kid and punched him in the back of the head with his massive claw and throwing him through debris. Nightmare rushed at him, picking up Soul Edge in the process, and then stabbing through Skull Kid's stomach.
Skull Kid's soul was absorbed into Soul Edge. His limbs fell limp, but his head didn't, staring directly at Nightmare. Nightmare took one of his hands off of Soul Edge and reached for Majora's Mask, but a sudden burst of purple energy emanated from the mask, throwing Nightmare away, causing Soul Edge to slide out of Skull Kid's stomach.
Nightmare got back up as Skull Kid's body was hoisted in the air. Suddenly, it fell to the ground, but the mask remained floating there. Nightmare stared at the mask as it stared back. Nightmare could feel the intense power the mask had. It began to fly upwards as Nightmare watched it. Dark power began to envelop the mask as Nightmare readied Soul Edge.
"Let's play something else." A voice rang out from the mask as hair-like tentacles began to spring from the back of the mask. "Let's play good guys against bad guys. Are you ready? You're the bad guy. And when you're bad, you just run. That's fine, right?" Majora asked as it began to hover back and forth.
"There is no good here. "Good" is nothing but a figment of a dream. But I will show you no dream. I shall show you... the GREATEST NIGHTMARE!" Nightmare shouted, before running and leaping at the mask. The mask began to spin vertically as Nightmare swung Soul Edge at the mask. The sword clanged against the mask, before Nightmare was suddenly pushed into the air by Majora.
Still spinning, Majora shot at Nightmare in mid-air, spinning like a buzz-saw. It began to shred into Nightmare's stomach, but was soon backhanded away by the Azure Knight. The mask fell to the ground, but floated back to avoid a jump slash from Nightmare. Floating backwards, Majora began to shoot a stream of fire at Nightmare, who raised a hand to block it.
Nightmare swung Soul Edge with such intensity that the wind generated by the swing split the fire. Nightmare rushed forward and gripped the mask, before pinning it to the ground with one of his feet. Nightmare turned Soul Edge in his hand and prepared to stab into the mask, but it began to change. The mask became larger, turning into a torso, sprouting a head, arms, and legs, becoming Majora's Incarnation.
Majora smacked Nightmare off of him, before getting back to its feet. Majora began to run around the area at sonic speeds. Nightmare tried to swing at Majora and shoot energy waves at it, but Nightmare couldn't land a good hit. The Incarnation ran towards Nightmare and began to do the Kazotsky Kick, hitting Nightmare into the air, before doing a ballerina twirl to spin Nightmare around and then throw the Azure Knight through rubble.
Nightmare got back up as Majora ran at the wielder of Soul Calibur. Nightmare punched the ground, creating a shockwave that threw Majora off balance. Nightmare took that moment to rush Majora and stab right between the eyes. Nightmare was torn away by Majora's telekinesis, along with Soul Edge. Blood poured out of the wound that Nightmare left, but it soon vanished.
The Incarnation's body began to shift, eventually changing into Majora's final form. Majora's Wrath. Majora let out a manic scream as Nightmare spun Soul Edge in his hand and ran at the mask's Wrath form. Two whips conjured in Majora's hands, which Majora cracked against the ground, splitting the ground. Nightmare leapt at Majora's Wrath, but Majora smacked Nightmare out of the way, throwing Nightmare away.
Nightmare got back up. Majora's Wrath teleported behind Nightmare and tried to kick at the Azure Knight, but he caught it, before pulling and slamming Majora's Wrath into the ground. Before Nightmare could stab Majora's Wrath, the entity teleported out of the way, a few feet away from Nightmare. Majora released several metal tops that bounced off of Nightmare's armor, but did stun the Azure Knight.
Majora cracked both of its whips at Nightmare, who managed to recover and block it with Soul Edge, but then the whips wrapped around Soul Edge and Nightmare's hand. Majora pulled Nightmare towards itself and lowered its face to meet Nightmare's.
"Your true face... What kind of... face is it? I wonder... the face under that mask... Is that... your true face?" Majora asked, tilting his head. Nightmare tried to pull against Majora, but the whips suddenly ensnared over Nightmare's entire body and began to squeeze. With a final screech of pain, Nightmare suddenly was crushed, the armor and the human host inside. Soon, there was no more body to control.
"I... thought not..."
Majora let go of Nightmare, but kept the whips around Soul Edge, before throwing the sword across the room, stabbing into a destroyed chunk of rubble. Majora began to cackle loudly, rejoicing over his victory. That is until Majora noticed something. The temperature in the area had suddenly increased majorly.
Majora glanced over at Soul Edge, which seemed to be the cause of a rise in temperature. Appearing from a pillar of flame, Inferno appeared with a low chuckle. Gripping the sword's hilt, Inferno took Soul Edge out of the chunk and spun it in his hand. Inferno began to float off of the ground as he pointed it at Majora.
With a wave of his other hand, the ground around them erupted into flames, creating a ring of fire around the two beings. Majora cracked his whip as Inferno ran a hand across Soul Edge. Majora and Inferno ran at each other and immediately clashed their weapons together, causing the very Earth around them to shake. The power of their singular clash created a shockwave that threw the two backwards, sliding across the dirt.
"SOULS! COME UNTO ME!" Inferno shouted in a demonic voices, raising Soul Edge into the air. Souls began to pour out from Soul Edge and swirled around the area, further enclosing the two. Combining the soul spiral and flames, it made for quite an arena. Majora glanced around before laughing. Inferno ran at Majora and swung the blade.
It sunk into Majora's shoulder. But other than causing some blood to trickle out, nothing happened. Inferno hesitated for a second, before tearing the blade through Majora's body, while also cutting a whole through reality, causing Majora to be warped away. Inferno closed the whole, before looking around. Majora was gone...
...
...
...
...Suddenly, tendrils emerged from the ground and wrapped around Inferno, ensnaring him to the ground. The souls let out a loud wail as the fire burned. Inferno struggles against the tendrils, but could not escape. More tendrils appeared and fully wrapped out Soul Edge, blocking out everything. The sounds of Majora's laughter could be heard. Inferno looked around desperately, trying to find Majora.
"What!? NO! IMPOSSIBLE!" Inferno shouted. Majora's Wrath suddenly appeared before Inferno, perfectly fine. Majora cackled at Inferno's struggle.
"Impossible? IMPOSSIBLE!?" Majora asked hysterically. "I MAKE THE IMPOSSIBLE MEANINGLESS!" Majora shouted, before several lightning bolts struck from above, nearly obliterating Inferno. Soul Edge was tossed into the air, spinning wildly, before Majora caught it out of the air, and glanced at it. Majora could see Inferno slowly reforming.
Reality warped, cracked, and changed, and the moon reappeared in the sky. It began to plummet towards Majora and Soul Edge, as Majora held the blade up towards it. It began to move at an incredible speed towards the Earth. The eye on Soul Edge looked around wildly as Majora held it upwards, cackling wildly.
KAAAAAAAAAABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The moon slammed into the planet, causing the Earth to shift off of its axis, and created an explosion that completely destroyed the moon and a large part of the Earth. Clearing the rubble around itself, Majora glanced around at the fire and souls that swirled all around it. Majora glanced down to see the shattered remains of Soul Edge, all souls being released like opening floodgates.
Majora laughed madly as it lifted its hand into the air, as all of the souls began to be absorbed into Majora's hand. Once all souls were absorbed, Majora closed its hand and brought it down. Majora chuckled, which soon turned to a loud cackle as everything burned around itself.
What a terrible fate indeed.
K.O!!!
Results[]
Yazo: Wow, that collector's convention really went wrong, huh?
Carl: This match was interesting to analyze. Both were quite powerful and had a plethora of abilities to choose from. But Majora just had the edge needed to beat Nightmare out in the end.
Yazo: Yeah, the two were pretty evenly matched. In fact, Nightmare could've beaten Skull Kid. While Skull Kid's maximum power output was that of Planet level, Nightmare's peak was Large Planet level. And Nightmare had a lot more combat experience and training. All Skull Kid ever really did was play around and mess with people, while Nightmare knew a lot of fighting styles, involving both swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat. And Skull Kid's most famous ability to deal with beings like Nightmare, sealing them in masks, wouldn't work, since Nightmare straight up resisted that shit.
Carl: And since the two's AP scaled to their durability as well, that meant Nightmare was both stronger and more durable than Skull Kid. But Skull Kid was a lot faster, and could easily avoid any of Nightmare's attack. While Nightmare could scale to point blank bullet dodging, Skull Kid could scale to Link with Relativistic laser dodging, along with being able to shoot lasers. Meaning Skull Kid could dodge all of Nightmare's attacks and always be able to land a hit on Nightmare.
Yazo: So yeah, this battle would go on for quite a time. So, between Nightmare and Skull Kid, it came down to abilities and other stats. Nightmare was smarter, sure, but Majora technically had a higher stamina due to not really having a stamina bar that could empty. If Nightmare got a hit on Skull Kid, that would be the end of the fight, right? Nightmare just corrupts Skull Kid, steal his soul, or BFR Skull Kid, right? End of the battle? Not quite.
Carl: Because while Nightmare triumphed Skull Kid, Nightmare and Inferno both paled in comparison to Majora's true power. Majora could create pocket dimension with entire stars inside of them. That was more than anything Nightmare has ever produced. And while Skull Kid could be taken out by the mentioned abilities, Majora could also manipulate souls and control entire pocket dimensions, likely meaning that it could resist Nightmare trying to steal its soul or BFR Majora.
Yazo: As for corrupting Majora, it was a little difficult, because it brings up whether or not Majora had a soul to corrupt. If not, then perfect! Nightmare could not kill Majora! If it did have some semblance of a soul that Nightmare could corrupt, then that would make it a bit difficult for Majora, but it hardly mattered when Majora was so fast that it could literally run circles around Nightmare and Inferno. And Skull Kid/Majora's telekinesis meant that they could've just stalled Nightmare from a distance.
Carl: And due to Majora's AP being above Nightmare, Inferno, and Soul Edge's durability, and how Majora could corrupt space-time and warp reality, Majora could likely break Soul Edge and bring an end to Nightmare's reign of terror. Nightmare may have triumphed over Skull Kid, was smarter and more experienced, and could've theoretically beaten Majora, but Majora was too powerful, too fast, and too... weird for Nightmare to win.
Yazo: Nightmare may have put Skull Kid on Edge, but Majora's the Soul winner in this fight.
Carl: The winner is Skull Kid.
