Super Mario Bros. vs Sonic the Hedgehog! When these two keepers of treasure (in very different terms) come face to face, who will win out in this brawl between brawlers?
This is the eighth episode of Earth's Atmosphere's Spin-Off Series: Blog Battle Bonanza.
Introduction[]
(cue: Wiz and Boomstick)
Wiz: Treasure, the most sacred thing to quite a few people.
Boomstick: Whether it's a loved one, a thought, or just plain old money, it's basically everywhere!
Wiz: There are those who wish to protect it, and those who want to take it for themselves. Like Wario, the gluttonous treasure hunter of Super Mario Bros.
Boomstick: And Knuckles, the echidna protector of the Master Emerald! He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!
Wiz: And it's our job to find out who would win... a DEATH BATTLE!
Wario[]
(cue: Inside the Pyramid)
Wiz: Of the Seven Star Children, one stood out among the rest, even with the likes of Bowser and Donkey Kong. One wearing yellow, one of greed, the desire for riches clear from the very start.
Boomstick: This child's name? Wario! Literally meaning Bad, this guy was one of Mario's many rivals, except he decided to stick around.
Wiz: Like Bowser did not long before, Wario took over Mario's home: Peach's Castle. ...well, Daisy's I suppose. This was the first time we saw this money-happy, gluttonous treasure hunter within his long history.
Boomstick: However, he isn't only a Treasure Hunter! He's played baseball and soccer with the Bros and co., committed crime, and even developed Video Games! ...really buggy, unfinished games. All to make a profit, of course.
Wiz: This profit would lead him across many adventures, like exploring a giant pyramid, an island resort, entire pocket dimensions, and so much more.
Boomstick: However, this wouldn't be much without his crazy-ass tools at his disposal! He's got the usual sporting equipment, like Baseball Bats, Tennis Rackets, Golf Clubs, Go Karts for racing, and much more in that regard!
Wiz: He also has his trusty Motorcycle, basically your typical one. ...and the fact he can eat it to regenerate some of his health. Look, things like these are fucking wild, don't be that surprised.

Knuckles[]
(cue: A Ghost's Pumpkin Soup)
Wiz: We all likely know Sonic the Hedgehog and it's iconic cast of characters. Sonic himself, Tails, Amy, Shadow, Dr. Eggman, even Big the Cat. However, one stood out from the rest in a way.
Boomstick: A red guy, spiked gloves, and four-
Wiz: NO. WE ARE NOT TREADING THAT AGAIN.
Boomstick: Fine, fine... this guy was Knuckles the Echidna! Sonic and Tails first met him on Angel Island, a floating island in the sky held up by the Master Emerald! He was manipulated by Dr. Eggman into thinking the two were coming to steal it!
Wiz: But oh contraire, after fighting them for some time, Robotnik swooped in and took the emerald for himself. He also plunged the entire island into the sea and set it ablaze! ...fun.
Boomstick: But of course, they got out of there. Old Knuckles decided "Screw it", and decided to help out the gang. Mainly to get the emerald back and all, but yeah.
Wiz: This was the spark to a long-lasting friendship between the Guardian and Speedster. Knuckles went on many heroic, world-saving adventures with the Sonic gang, and made himself a main stay in the roster for his good heart and brute strength.
Boomstick: ...about his strength, he's pretty goddamn strong! The guy can rip chunks of the ground with no sweat, climb up things by punching them, and even digging through the ground by, you guessed it, punching it! Hell, he can punch so fast miniature explosions occur!
