- The connections between Hanako and Athela are that they’re both low-status women from past times who suffered a tragedy that would later decide their future (The Saito Clan’s murder and the Sect of Sorrow’s experiments) but eventually escaped and entered a life of vigilantism. They now wander the land to right the wrongs of the past.
