Interlude[]
Wiz: War. A proclamation as old as time. Multiple armies coming at each other and fighting with all they’ve got.
Kitty: But there’s always got to be party poopers who splice regular people’s DNA to create gods among men that help ‘em win said wars!
Puppy: Such as Athela, Oakheart’s resident introvert turned savior of multiple lands.
Boomstick: And Zodiac, the Zodiac Killer and Raiden's successor! He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick, and they are Kitty and Puppy!
Wiz: And it’s our job to analyze their weapon's....
Kitty: Armor!
Puppy: And skills...
Boomstick: To see who would win!
All: A DeathBattle!!
Athela is divine in DEATH BATTLE[]
(Cue: God-Shattering Star)
Puppy: Born to Thaddeus and Hilda Canmore, Athela, there young daughter, was set to live an interesting, albeit simple life.
Kitty: But of course, nothing can go right for once, and both Athela’s parents (and her brother to add to that!) are killed by various means, and little Athela was set to live with one of her two remaining relatives- her uncle and her grandmother. At the time, she adored her uncle, and decided to go with him, unknowing of the plans he had in store.
Puppy: Enter Tomas Gaunter, lord of a far away land and Athela’s uncle. Having gained her trust at an early age, the perfect chance came to him after his sister and her husband wound up dead.
Kitty: But what did he need the “chance” to do? Why, he wanted to harness the Divine Energy in Athela’s blood!
Puppy: Divine Energy is a powerful source appearing in the blood of vessels created by the goddess Divinus~ and Athela’s mother was one of those vessels, so the energy was passed down to her.
Kitty: So Gaunter wanted to harness the energy and turn Athela into a god-shattering weapon of war. However, he’d have to put his niece through gruesome experiments… which he agreed to without thinking it over.
Puppy: But at the last moment, Gaunter realized the magnitude of his actions and released his niece, at the cost of his own life.
Kitty: Yeah, that’s great and all, but Gaunter’s actions completely trashed Athela’s life! Her hair was completely drained of its color and she lost the will to live and became a reclusive, timid introvert!
Puppy: And Athela, now in critical condition, hopelessly made way to her the house of her grandmother, her last relative.
Kitty: She would spend the next two years of her life, staying in solitude with her grandmother, until the day when rumors arose that Gaunter’s men were still on the prowl, now looking for their former test subject.
Puppy: So Athela’s grandmother had four people she paid in advance escort her granddaughter, whom didn’t know about the four, to the land of Dunbar, where she could unravel the reason behind her existence.
Kitty: Those four were Alexander, a chivalrous knight with a loyal mindset, Silas, a former noble with a witty attitude belying a terrible past, Lumiere, the heir to Oakheart’s throne and Eira, the axe-wielding future duchess of Dunbar. They eventually briefed Athela on their quest to gain a magical weapon of legend, the Divine Blade.
Puppy: So the five set out to gain the blade and help Athela decipher her past.
Kitty: But when they were gone, some shit went down in Oakheart and Athela’s grandmother was deceived by rumors. Gaunter’s men didn’t show up, and instead a new army approached the castle, and their leader, a giant man clad in black armor slaughtered the royal family and demanded control of the holy land of Oakheart.
Puppy: At that point, Athela and the gang had already braved multiple challenges and were right at the temple where the Divine Blade was sorted. Athela had also warmed up to her teammates, having formed special bonds between each one.
Kitty: And when Athela entered the temple, she picked up the blade, and a vision swept through her mind. A loud voice explained her past and the meaning of the horrible experiments conducted on her. She was briefed on the divine energy in her body, the power of the divine blade, and finally, the voice said that she should return to Oakheart. Athela humbly obliged and the gang traveled the path all the way back!
Puppy: When they had returned to their humble abode, it was in shambles. Houses burnt and multiple killed by the mysterious black Knight’s wrath. The five, after questioning a villager, barged into the palace, fought of knights, and eventually struck the Black Knight down. They soon unmasked him, and there was nothing under the mask.
Kitty: And then Lumiere, who seemed like a side character up until now, explains what he did. He used magic to control the suit and kill his parents so he could take the throne. He also helped Athela so he could have an excuse to get out of town and not be blamed for the situation. He had the other four cornered, but Athela, Silas and Eira managed to get away. Unfortunately, Alexander was captured.
Puppy: The remaining three, before splitting into separate paths, promised to meet again. Five years later, Athela had finally trained with her sword and was ready to reunite with everyone and strike Lumiere down!
Kitty: But now, let’s go into what this girl can do!
Weapons and Powers[]
- The Divine Blade: A legendary blade infused with the blood of Divinus. This sword is capable of extending to long heights and pulling the blade apart to work like scissors. However, only one who has a piece of Divinus in them can wield it. Said blade is imbued with the power to heal the user. The blade also has the ability to ignore durability and invincibility, making it very useful against opponents stronger than the user.
- Hunting Dagger: A small, somewhat dull dagger that is used for killing animals and enemies alike. However, Athela does not like to do the former.
- Lance of Flames: A mystical, flame imbued lance capable of attacking opponents that are far away and spitting fire from the tip. Anyone hit by the flames receives significant knockback.
- Hex Shield: A medium gray shield capable of preventing reality warping and protecting the user from it. Is also capable of redirecting projectiles such as arrows.
- Absorption Amulet: A small amulet capable of absorbing energy-based attacks.
- Magic: Ethereal abilities capable of multiple things.
- Fire Magic: Spells capable of manipulating fire. Athela has, in the past, created fireballs and even full-scale tornadoes out of fire.
- Chrono Magic: Magic capable of slowing down time for 10 seconds. Athela has not learned any other spells.
- ThunderSpear: A large spear that, whatever it impales, is zapped to the extreme.
- Desperation: When nearing death, Athela is given a boost in strength, speed and durability.
- Glass Cannon: A status effect, that, when activated, greatly enhances Athela’s strength and speed, but lowers her durability by a great amount.
- Meat Shield: Trading speed for strength, another status effect that, when Athela pushes a switch on her armor, her armor envelops her body completely, greatly enhances its size and, strength and durability, but lowers speed by a grand amount.
- Ruptured Blood: Channeling all of the Divine Energy stored in her blood, Athela creates a golden javelin that, when it hits an enemy, completely ensnares and smothers them in illumination until there’s nothing left. However, using this attack and taking the energy from her blood kills Athela, so it is only used as a last resort.
Feats[]
- Athela has reacted to Lumiere’s light spells, which are capable of moving 50% the speed of light
- Took a slash to the neck from a different Divine Weapon. The first wielder of the other Divine Weapon was capable of easily slicing though the hardest materials
- Capable of trading blows with the Black Knight, who could smash through stone and kill a goddess
- Incredibly agile
- Survived being impaled, electrocuted and burned as part of the experiments
- A previous user of the Divine Blade could cleave through a moon-sized attack. However, the blade’s power weakens further down the bloodline, so Athela should scale to at least a quarter of the feat
- Managed to harm an intangible being
- Managed to lift a barrel full of stones
- Pushed a heavily armored Oakheart Knight above the treeline
- Barely survived an island-busting blast with the Hex Shield
- Survived a fall down a mountain
Faults[]
- Incredibly reluctant to fight
- Incredibly inexperienced
- Physically weak and heavily reliant on weapons
- Hex Shield is especially weak to fire-based attacks
- Clumsy and tends to mess up in combat
- Not much of a strategist, tends to not think things over
Zodiac creates a massacre in DEATH BATTLE[]
(Cue: Jekyll and Hyde)
Wiz: Technology. Over time, humanity has amassed multiple tools to help with everyday deeds, but mainly, technology can be used for warfare.
Boomstick: Yeah, and it’s sure as hell annoying when you are forced to become technology! Wait, how does that work~
Wiz: Such is the case with a child named George, a young Guyanese beggar kidnapped by Desperado and experimented on in order to become Cyborg soldier.
Boomstick: However, young George here managed to find out what Desperado had planned to do with the thousands of children they had abducted.
(The screen then shows multiple brains in jars staring at Raiden)
Boomstick: HOLY FUCK, that is creepy, and George didn't want to know what it was like to be in those jars. So, he escaped into one the most cliche places ever. THE SEWER!
Wiz: George was hunted down by Desperados robots, until he ran into IF Prototype LQ-84i or Blade Wolf, where he would then later meet Raiden. When he saved George from the UG's.

Fight[]
An illuminate sight, the beautiful sun setting with purple streaks sprawled across the sky and stroking out too far off places. The sun slowly creeping downward to where it would rest until the next morning. However, after the star has gone under the horizon, one area was oddly more illuminated than the rest.
”Hmm, hmm, hmm.” Athela slowly bummed a lullaby-esque tune to herself whilst fiddling around with a needle and thread, working on a mosaic of some sort. She soon stopped and set her art down, before raising her arms up and letting out a deep breath before laying down. She closed her eyes and awaited sleep to catch up to her.
However, she couldn’t grasp the rest she needed, as the horrible thought of someone stalking her crossed her mind, and now she couldn’t keep it out. She curled up in her ragged blanket and slid slowly to the farther side of the flower field. However, her fears did come true as a heavily armored man was in the tree above her.
“Doktor, are you sure this is the one?” Zodiac asked on the intercom. “She just looks so innocent.” He asks the doctor once more.
”Yes. If we are to achieve our peaceful goal, some innocent lives do not matter.” Doktor told Zodiac.
”Well, I sure hope you’re right. As of now, this seems like a waste of my time.” Zodiac sarcastically brings up to lighten the mood. He hops down from the tree and approaches Athela, who was now asleep.
With the loud rustling noises mixed with the birds in the knight, Athela woke up from her slumber and saw that a man was standing above her with a bright red weapon raised.
”GO BACK TO WHENCE YOU CAME!” Athela yells loudly, quickly exiting her blanket and running to her bag. Zodiac dashed after her and raised his weapon once more, but Athela now had a lance removed from her bag, blocking Zodiac’s blow. Unfortunately for her, the lance snapped in half from the opposing weapon’s force. Athela groaned and threw the two pieces of the lance at Zodiac’s face, startling him, as she grabbed her sword of choice- the Divine Blade from her bag and reassumed her fighting stance.
”I can tell that you won’t make this easy.” Zodiac says as he gets into a fighting position as well.
(Cue: I'm still alive by Emigrate)
Zodiac leaped forward and brought his blade down on Athela, who veered to the side and swung her sword towards Zodiac’s gut. The cyborg somersaulted backwards and threw his sword towards Athela, which narrowly missed her head and pierced the tree behind her.
The blade’s force cleaves through the tree with ease and a flabbergasted Athela falls back and holds her sword closer.
“Got you now!” Zodiac yells and he bounds forward and kicks Athela in the face, knocking her away in a slo-mo style. He grabs the sword again and raises it in the air before plunging it down towards Athela, who rolls away and ends up speeding down a hill.
“Woah!” She blindly falls down the hill and reaches for her sword’s hilt, barely grabbing on to it. Once she reached the bottom of the hill and got back up on her feet, she was standing in a snow-covered village!
“Wow… how did I not see this before?” She asks herself, her jaw drooping down in shock. She’s interrupted, however, by Zodiac, who lunges toward her and swings his sword in a clockwise direction, catching Athela off guard. She barely managed to block with the Divine Blade, and the force of Zodiac’s blow disarmed her.
“Oh…” Athela groaned as she reeled back, before grabbing the blade and thrusting it towards Zodiac, whom grabbed the tip with his hands.
“Seriously? You thought that could get past me?” Zodiac sarcastically questions as he jerks Athela’s blade to the side, taking her with it.
She lands in the snow and becomes extremely cold. The cold floods through her body, but she manages to get up.
Right when she gets back on her feet, a bullet whizzes past her head.
“Woah, what kind of arrow was that?”
“Damn, I missed!”
Zodiac pushes his finger down on the trigger of his Glock 19 and a fusillade erupts from the barrel.
Athela barely manages to dodge and block a few of the bullets, and she slides her foot back, before charging towards Zodiac.
Zodiac pushes his sword in front of his face to block Athela’s strike and knees her in the ribs, sending her sprawling across the snowy ground.
“Oof-“ She gets back up on her feet and throws the sword at Zodiac’s face, who dodges and runs toward Athela with his sword, but she pulls the sword back with some sort of magical force, and it impales Zodiac in the gut.
Zodiac falls back and Athela equips the Lance of Flames. She shoots a devastating amount of fire at Zodiac, enough to melt a large amount of the snow around them.
After the flames subside, Zodiac pats his barely scorched armor and lunges toward Athela and activates his Shatter Gear, shooting a large output of sound at Athela, knocking her into another tree.
She sprawls backward before slowly trying to recover. Zodiac bounds toward her once more and swings with the Toki-NoHa, which Athela blade-locks with her blade.
Both engage in gruesome combat, with Zodiac beginning with the upper hand. However, Athela pushes forward with all her might, splitting Zodiac’s sword in two!
“Oh gosh…” Zodiac stumbles backward.
(Cue: Welcome To The Jungle- Guns N Roses)
This was her chance. She could finally take the upper hand against her assailant.
She bounds forward and backhand-slaps Zodiac, before kneeing him in the gut. Athela hits Zodiac with the sword’s hilt, creating a crack in his armor. She slashes at him multiple times, which creates more cuts on his armor. She then kicks him backward and throws her sword at his face, barely missing and impaling a building.
“Oh… no, this isn’t gonna go well.” He gets back on his feet, but Athela slashes at his legs, sending him sprawling again. She then slides forward and goes for his head, which is right in front of her. He manages to get back on his feet again and narrowly dodges the attack.
He dashes forward and backhand slaps Athela, sending her to her knees. He then delivers the devastating finish.
Zodiac Shatter Gears Athela.
Athela lays in a pile on the floor, as Zodiac walks up and laughs.
“I am invincible…”
“Urkh-“ she coughs out blood, losing the upper hand again.
Zodiac, aware of Athela’s mortal wounds, whips out his Glock 19 again and fires at her head, creating a huge cloud of smoke. She manages to get up and start hitting back.
She sends a flurry of swings and slashes at Zodiac’s exposed back, causing him to shoot his gun in his own direction. Athela deflects a good number of the bullets, dodges the remaining bullets and dashes forward. Athela dives right into Zodiac’s waiting arms and throws him over her head. She then strikes him in the face with her sword, knocking him down to the ground.
Athela sits down and readies her blade. Zodiac runs at her once more.
He spins and flips around her, causing Athela to frantically block the blow with her sword. Zodiac lands on his feet and then leaps up, kicking Athela in the face. She hits the ground hard.
She gets back up and tries to swing at him, but he slashes her chest, spewing out blood like a crimson fountain. She reels back in pain; almost accepting her demise.
“You thought you could truly get in the way of my mission?” Zodiac nonchalantly muses. “Pfft… you’re just a little girl.”
Athela musters up enough strength to get back on her feet. She clutches her wound as she stands up slowly, blood still spilling out of her wounds.
“Wrong…” She laments, gripping her chest.
Suddenly, a helmet shoots over her head and her limbs begin to be covered by her chest plate. She was decked out in a new set of armor. The Meat Shield.
“I’m not a ‘little girl’.”
Athela’s voice suddenly bellows, feeling more authoritative and powerful than ever before.
Zodiac rushes towards Athela. She dodges a left and right swipe from his fist. As she hits the wall, she kicks off her back and turns in a jump.
She dodges a right punch from Zodiac, then slams her foot into his stomach, sending him tumbling to the ground. She lands on her feet and runs at Zodiac, shooting blasts from the ThunderSpear as she runs. The blast engulfs Zodiac and throws him up in the air, around the corner of the building.
“Back at you!” Athela grins.
“Give up now, and I’ll take pity on you.” Zodiac answers.
“I don’t give up that easily!” Athela yells.
She runs forward and kicks Zodiac in the chest. The armor he was wearing is shattered and makes a gushing sound. He flies across the street.
Athela runs in front of him and runs along the length of the street. He follows close behind her, lashing out at her and tackling her to the ground.
She flips herself back up and headbutts Zodiac in the face. He attempts to put her in a headlock, but he’s too slow. Athela throws her left arm back, hitting him in the face. Zodiac retaliates with a right hook of his own, and she blocks it, but the attack causes her to lose her footing.
Zodiac takes advantage and grabs her by the throat. He wraps her up in a bear hug and punches her repeatedly in the face, yelling at her to “die!”
“Hold up!” Athela yells, breaking free of his hold.
She readies herself and prepares to strike him in the gut.
“Yeah, I like the sound of that.” Zodiac laughs.
“I don’t know about you, but I’m getting tired of beating you up!” Athela informs him.
She throws a kick at him, but Zodiac is prepared and easily dodges the attack.
He grabs her by the throat and slashes at her face, whilst yelling, “I’m pretty sure it’s the other way around!” Before Shatter-Gearing her into a building, which is eviscerated instantly. He activates the Sundowner Gear to counter Athela’s newfound defense. He lifts the gun from his left wrist and aims it at her.
“You’re a pretty tenacious girl, sure, but tenacity will lead to your downfall!” Zodiac yells, as he pulls the trigger, peppering her in the face with his bullets.
She merely responds with a cry of pain and runs forward, trying to make it up the street.
*shot* *shot* *shot*
She howls in pain, having only been struck once, but with that attack dealing a large amount of pain. Zodiac activates the Maxis Gear and blitzes her, pushing Athela to the floor and shattering the Meat Shield.
Zodiac holds her against the snowy ground, pushing his boot down harder each second. He pulls his foot up and grabs Athela by the hair, only to crudely toss her away.
He sprints towards Athela, runs into her, and sweeps her feet from beneath her.
He lets her back up and punches her in the face, once again. She yells in pain and drops to the ground. Zodiac’s Maxis Gear activates, and he grabs Athela by the neck.
“Did you think that you could fool me with a do-over?” Zodiac yells, in a menacing voice. “What was that? You’ve become predictable.” He throws her to the adjacent side and kicks her sword at her. “Now, it’s my turn to finish my job.”
Athela yells out in agony. Her heart pounds inside of her chest as she struggles to get up. She attempts to block Zodiac’s attack with her sword, but he kicks her back into the street and continues to punch her.
Athela rolls backwards, reaching up to tap his jaw. Her hand sinks into his head, knocking him to the ground. He yells out in pain.
Athela lunges the blade at Zodiac and impales him in the chest. He stumbles back, only to pull the sword out and begin to gain a menacing aura.
“Heh. To make this fair, I've tried to keep him down, locked up and chained, but since you wanna see him so bad,” he pauses for a second and closes his fist. “I GUESS I'LL UNLOCK THE CAGE, DOKTOR ACTIVATE ADRENALINE! IT’S TIME FOR THE ZODIAC KILLER TO CREATE A MASSACRE!”
Both Zodiac activates all of his gears at once, seemingly gaining unreachable power. Athela grabs her sword, with the hilt illuminate, and she leaps at Zodiac, who does the same.
Zodiac suddenly pulled a feint and lunged sideways, impaling Athela’s gut!
She groaned as she fell backwards.
Zodiac activated Sunsplitter Mode and created a large wall of fire, completely disintegrating Athela!
“The deed is done…” Zodiac gasps, slowly limping away.
Results[]
Kitty: Wow! That was epic.
Puppy: This was a pretty close battle. Athela was easily faster and more durable by a large margin, but Zodiac had what he needed to take the win.
Wiz: Not only was Athela’s speed easily countered by Zodiac’s mask and precognition, but Zodiac’s strength output could dish out blows that Athela couldn’t handle!
Boomstick: Athela’s Hex Shield was by far her most durable weapon, but that was countered by Sunsplitter Mode due to it’s heavy weakness to fire. Plus, his hax could completely decimate Oakheart’s savior!
Kitty: Athela didn’t have the heart to win, and her zodiac foresaw that her chances of a victory would be Sun-split.
Wiz: The winner is Zodiac.
