Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter comes once again, as the mascots of both these famous fighting games face off. Will Ryu be able to face off against Scorpion's hellfire? Or will his soul burn?
Interlude[]
Yang Xiao Long: Oh buddy! Its time! Its time!
Sora: Wow you're excited for this.
Yang Xiao Long: You'd better believe I am! Cause its the battle of iconic Fighting Games!
Sora: Iconic Fighting Games?
Yang Xiao Long: Yep! I'm of course talking about Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter!
Sora: Whoa! Haven't done Street Fighter before, and Mortal Kombat hasn't been seen since Sub-Zero VS Mr. Freeze.
Yang Xiao Long: But unlike Sub-Zero vs Mr. Freeze, this fight is gonna be done by us! And in today's fight, we got the mascots of MK and SF here!
Sora: Scorpion, the ninja spector from the Netherrealm.
Yang Xiao Long: And Ryu, the warrior always seeking to improve himself.
Sora: In this fight, we will not be using non canon stuff such as the MK movies or the Street Fighter Comic series.
Yang Xiao Long: You know, the movie that was awesome but had that bad sequel, or the comic series where Akuma powered up to his Shin state and destroyed an meteor?
Sora: But today, me and Yang are gonna find out just which mascot shows to be the king of fighting games, in today's Death Battle!
Scorpion[]
Sora: In the beginning, there existed the One Being, and the Elder Gods.
Yang Xiao Long: For Eons, the Elder Gods fought the One Being, while The One Being fed on the Elder Gods.
Sora: But in the end, the Elder Gods defeated the One Being, despite its seemingly endless power. And after defeating the One Being, the Elder Gods went on to creating what would be known as the Realms, where the One Being's consciousness went into 6 different Realms.
Yang Xiao Long: Among these Realms is a place known. As Earthrealm.

Sora: Earthrealm is often considered a cosmic jewel, making it a target for conquest from several different realms.
Yang Xiao Long: One such Realm, the Realm of Outworld, where Shao Kahn and his forces of evil seek to merge it with they're own
Sora: But the Elder Gods put up a protection for the realm. A tournament known as... Mortal Kombat.
Yang Xiao Long: MORTAL KOMBAAAAT!!
Sora: If Outworld can get 10 wins in a row, they can invade and merge the realm, but so far, Earth though the aid of its protector, the God of Thunder Raiden, the champions that defend held the invaders back.
Yang Xiao Long: But it wasn't always easy. As Outworld is home to MANY dangerous criminals. They even get help from other realms. Such as a dark place known as.... The Netherrealm.

Sora: Here the souls of the dead roam all slaves to the Mad Fallen Elder God of the Realm, Shinnok.
Yang Xiao Long: Among these lost souls, is a warrior who lost both his family and clan, to a rival clan of warriors. Or so he thought.
Sora: His loss fueled his anger and he swore vengeance against those who wronged him, and thus becoming a specter, a spirit of vengeance.
Yang Xiao Long: This warrior was known as Hanzo Hasashi. Or better known as....
Hanzo: Call me... Scorpion
Sora: Hanzo, or Scorpion, was once a member or the head of a legendary Japanese ninja clan, known as the Shirai Ryu. This clan often did battle against they're arch enemies, the Chinese clan of assassins, known as the Lin Kuai.
Yang Xiao Long: Despite the conflict between the two clans, Scorpion had a pretty good life. His clan, his wife and son. But ALL that hit the fan when his home was attacked. And everyone he knew and love were brutally murdered by Scorpion's most hated enemy of the clan, Sub-Zero.
Hanzo: You'll... Die for this...
Sub-Zero: You first.
Sora: Hanzo met his own end at the hands of Sub-Zero as well. But the anger, hated, and desire for revenge, lead him into the Netherrealm, and there he made a deal with a socorrer, the right hand of Shinnok, Quan Chi.
Yang Xiao Long: Quan Chi would aid Scorpion in getting his revenge, in return for his eternal service. This lead to Scorpion taking part in the first Mortal Kombat tournament, and lead him on his wide quest for revenge, and later, redemption.
Sora: It is really sad what happened to him don't you think?
Yang Xiao Long: Yeah. Dude was just chilling in Japan with his wife and kid when some frosty dude decide to ruin all that. Or did he...? But we'll talk about that later. Let's get on to Scorpion's powers and abilities.
Sora: Right. Before becoming a specter, Scorpion as a human was a highly trained ninja warrior. From hand-to-hand and able to use weapons. From axes to swords, or his signature weapon, a spear that's on a rope. Or a Kunai on a rope.
Yang Xiao Long: This hand thing is commonly called a kyoketsu-shoge in Japan, and this thing can basically be said is Scorpion's stinger. When he use this, and it hits his opponents, he pulls them over to him, allowing him to strike them when in range. He also loves to shout "GET OVER HERE!" when doing it
Sora: Scorpion does have a lot more going for him then just martial arts and weapons. When he became a specter, he gained powerful and wrathful abilities.
Yang Xiao Long: Scorpion's powers are all stem from Hellfire, which is pretty common in the Netherrealm. Scorpion can manipulate fire at will, control it and shoot it. He's also straight up immune to fire. Perfect example being when he just stood there and ate Sektor's flame throwers like it was nothing

Sora: It should be noted, Sektor's flame throwers can reach 3000 degrees fahrenheit.
Yang Xiao Long: And should be noted Scorpion's fire can melt Sub-Zero's ice, which is -500 degrees Fahrenheit, beyond absolute zero.
Sora: Scorpion also has the ability to teleport, which allows him to go pretty much wherever he wants.
Yang Xiao Long: He can travel from Earthrealm, all the way down to hell in an instint. Oh hey, isn't he also basically immortal, given he's already dead?
Sora: Yeah, but his physical body can still be destroyed, so we'll count that as a death. And he was brought back to life as a human
Yang Xiao Long: Good point. Oh there's also that little trick while he's in Hell
Sora: Oh right. While Scorpion is in the fire pits of the Netherrealm, his power grows.
Yang Xiao Long: Hell is basically his version of the sun for Superman
Sora: And even when being ressurected in MKX, Scorpion still had these wraith powers. But they all became based on his emotions.
Yang Xiao Long: He has to remember his painful times, such as his family death in order to use them, but he also risks falling pray to the power and lose his soul.
Sora: But these powers have allowed him to take on some of the most powerful MK has to offer.
Yang Xiao Long: Aww yeah! Let's get to feats!
Sora: Scorpion has proven to be among one of the power houses of the MK universe.
Yang Xiao Long: If we go by the Test Your Might games, Scorpion like the rest can break titanium and diamonds. But even without that, Scorpion still has tons of power behind him
Sora: He's fought and killed his arch enemy, Sub-Zero, who was strong enough to defeat Fujin, the God of Wind and the brother to Raiden. And Fujin is able to create tornados and could rip about mountains.
Yang Xiao Long: Scorpion's defeated many other fighters as well. Kung Lao, rival and friend to Liu Kang, the Lin Kuei assassins Sektor and Cyrax, both before and after become cyborgs, going by MK11.
Sora: He's even defeated Warriors of Earthrealm like Sonya, and Kenshi, and even managed to kill Quan Chi.
Yang Xiao Long: AKA: The guy who REALLY killed Scorpion's family.
Quan Chi: You're as weak as your wife was. As your child. Yes, you fool, it wasn't Sub-Zero at all. I killed them.
Yang Xiao Long: What. An. Asshole.
Sora: But as you said, he did kill Quan Chi, and Quan Chi has been able to scale to his fellow soccorer Shang Tsung, who even as an old man, proved to be superior to fighters such as Goro.
Yang Xiao Long: Scorpion is even one of the few beings to be able to fight Raiden head to head.
Sora: While some people have done battle against Raiden and won, like Sonya or Kung Jin, Raiden REALLY wasn't trying to win. But when fighting Scorpion Raiden was trying.
Yang Xiao Long: And that's either he's on fate of the world missions or he's just pissed.
Sora: Indeed, but Scorpion has held his own against the God of Thunder, and even managed to beat Raiden enough to knock some sense back into the god, while he was under the effect of the blood code, thanks to the Kamidogu's, and even without that, Raiden scales to some of the more powerful MK characters, like Fujin, Liu Kang and Shao Kahn.
Yang Xiao Long: Isn't Raiden more powerful then Liu Kang given he ALWAYS wins every time they fight?
Sora: That's... Very true.
Yang Xiao Long: Okay well we know how strong he is. But how fast he is
Sora: A good question. Scorpion, like many other MK characters, is fast enough to dodge bullets, lasers, and can even land blows on Kabal, whos is one of the fastest MK characters.
Yang Xiao Long: Wait. Kabal ISN'T the fastest?
Sora: He is fast, but not even close. An even greater speed feat we got for Scorpion, besides Kabal, is his fight against Raiden. According to the lore of Mortal Kombat, Raiden while in combat, is capable of moving at lightening speeds.
Yang Xiao Long: There's also the fact he shoots literal lightening. And Scorpion has dodged it.
Sora: A perfect example of this is Scorpion dodging Raiden's lightening while he was attacking Takeda, all while under the blood code.
Yang Xiao Long: And Scorpion just goes in, grabs Takeda, teleports him out the lightening, and comes back completely unharmed.
Sora: If that's not an example of Scorpion having lightening levels of reaction and speed, I'm not sure what is.
Yang Xiao Long: So Scorpion's strong enough to take on mountain and city level fighters, capable of going at lightening speeds, can endure and survive blows from enemies who did or survived worse, Scorpion is likely one of the top tier MK fighters
Sora: I'd agree with that. But despite being a top tier, Scorpion is far from unstoppable.
Yang Xiao Long: Yeah. For one, Scorpion has lost fights. He lost to Liu Kang during the first tournament, and this was when Quan Chi was backing him up.
Sora: And while Scorpion did managed to beat Nightwolf, one of the more powerful MK characters, its suggested Nightwolf let him win. And given Nightwolf can scale to Sindel, one of the few beings who can fight an Elder God without a power up, I'd believe it.
Yang Xiao Long: Scorpion also lost to his rival Sub-Zero. Once when he killed him, and again when he fought his brother during Shao Kahn's tournament. He might have lost a 3rd time, if Sub-Zero was REALLY trying to kill him during they're fight in MKX.
Sora: And as a human.... Scorpion did die to Dvorah who poisoned him.
Yang Xiao Long: I REALLY don't like her.
Sora: And to go along with these losses, Scorpion has let his anger cloud his judgement, and allowed him to be manipulated. It also made him set Shinnok free when he was imprisoned in his amulet, and Shinnok easily overpowered him.
Yang Xiao Long: Not to mention, despite being able to hold his own against Raiden, Raiden has consistently beaten Scorpion more times. Once even in the Netherrealm, where Scorpion is at his best.
Sora: Impressive as knocking Raiden out of the Blood Code was, it doesn't compare to him losing in a place where he gets stronger the longer he's there.
Yang Xiao Long: Still, despite his losses, and his endless desire for vengance, Scorpion proves why he is not a man to be messed with and will end the life of any who dare piss him off
Sora: Earthrealm could not ask for a more excellent ally.

Ryu[]
Sora: During the times of feudal Japan, there existed a martials arts, that was made to kill those who use it on they're opponents.
Yang Xiao Long: A dark art that let out the darkness within the hearts of men. A dark power known as, the Satsui no Hado
Sora: This dark art was learned by one Goutetsu, who was able to use this power, without falling pray to the darkness in it.
Yang Xiao Long: He later took on two students. Brothers who go by the name Gouken, and Akuma.
Sora: Goutetsu taught the brothers the art of fighting, but both had different ideas on what they should do with it.
Yang Xiao Long: In time, Gouken would end up finding a lost boy. A boy with no name, parents or even memories.
Sora: This boy would in time become an important figure to the world. And the world knew him... As Ryu.
Ryu is seen in a sitting position. He holds up his fist
Ryu: This is the path, of my destiny!
Sora: Ryu would be raised by Gouken in the seclusion of the dojo, all being raise by Gouken, who would also train Ryu in martial arts.
Yang Xiao Long: Sometime later though, Gouken would take on another pupil, which took the form of one, Ken Masters, Ryu's best friend.
Sora: The two trained together for many years, until RYu reached 23 and began to wonder the world. It was here, Ryu began his long journey of improvement, facing some of the best fighters the world had to offer.
Yang Xiao Long: And Ryu's journey began in the first World Warrior's Tournament, where he defeated all challengers, and soon went to Tailand, where he would face the king of the Mutai, Sagat.
Sora: After 20 victories, Ryu did battle against Sagat, where the man easily overpowered Ryu. But Ryu in a moment, gave in to the Satsui no Hado, and deliver a powerful upper cut, that scared Sagat and defeating him.
Yang Xiao Long: And after Sagat's defeat, Ryu would soon be one of the many fighters to fight against the evil forces of the organization, Shadaloo, lead by the dictator, M. Bison, and gain the personal attention of the Master of the Fist, the brother and killer of his master Gouken, Akuma.
Sora: Well we got the basic plot outta the way, you ready to start talking about Ryu's powers and abilities?
Yang Xiao Long: Oh you bet! This boy has got some skill at his side!
Sora: To start with, Ryu is a martial artist, trained by several martials masters and various other mentors.
Yang Xiao Long: Having trained under Gouken, Ryu learned some crazy martial arts skills, that frankly should not be physically possible but they are.
Sora: One of Ryu's sigature technques is the Shoryuken, also known as the Rising Dragon.
Yang Xiao Long: This technque allows Ryu to deliver a powerful upper cut which results in him doing some form of spiin after doing the move
Sora: While it might leave him open for a moment, should he miss, its still could a move to be hit by.
Yang Xiao Long: Another of his moves is known as the Tatsumaki Senpukyaku. Or the Hurricane Kick, which Ryu spins around holding his foot out
Sora: As Ryu progressed in the series, he's able to use this move while in the air. Its pretty crazy. But Ryu's mostt iconic move, and a personal favorite of many, the Hadoken.
Yang Xiao Long: Also known as... The Kamehameha.
Goku: Kaaaaa.....meeeee....haaaa.....meeeee.....HAA-
Sora: Wait what???
Yang Xiao Long: Ha! I'm kidding. No its just called "Fireball".
Sora: Don't do that please.
Yang Xiao Long: Hey not my fault the way the moves are used look the same.
Sora: I guess your right. Anyway. The Hadoken. This move Ryu channels energy into the palms of his hands, creating a ball of fire, and he then thrusts his arm forward sending the ball out.
Yang Xiao Long: See? Told you.
Sora: Right...Later, Ryu learned to be able to channel electricity into his fists. This is known as the Denijin Renki.
Yang Xiao Long: Many of his other versions are basically the same attacks, but made to be stronger. Hmm... What else can he do?
Sora: Well... Here's where we get to a sad darker side of Ryu. For inside Ryu, is the dark nature of the energy known as the Satsui no Hado. And Ryu often is fighting the dark impaluses of this energy. For if he gives into the darkness... He transforms into something.... evil.
Evil Ryu: I HAVE AWOKEN AT LAST!!
Yang Xiao Long: Evil Ryu. A form taken on by Ryu after he is taken over by the Satsui no Hado. And he.... Um... W-Wait. When did Ryu go into this form?
Sora: In the canon? He never did.
Yang Xiao Long: Huh? Hold up. Why are we talking about this if its not canon. Not to mention is basically a featless form.
Sora: The form is featless, but we are going to allow this time, despite it being non canon. And as for feats, another Street Fighter character can cover that for us.
Yang Xiao Long: Who?
Sora: You'll see in due time. But for now, let's finish this talk of Ryu's skills with his last power up.
Yang Xiao Long: You mean... The Power of Nothingness?
Sora: Yes I am. The Power of Nothingness, or Fist of Nothingness. This power is basically the anti-Setsui no Hado. It is a power where only those of pure mind may use it. With it, they're mind is free of anger, fear, doubt, granting them peace of mind and amazing levels of power. Only known users of this power are Ryu, Gouken and Ken. But unlike Ken, Ryu alone has mastered this power.
Yang Xiao Long: Man. Ryu's quite a number of powers and skill under his belt huh? But how far have these powers taken him?
Sora: Glad you asked. Cause NOW we got to Ryu's feats.
Yang Xiao Long: Aww yeah! To start with, Ryu has defeated many, and I mean MANY different fighters over the course of his fighting career.
Sora: As we stated, he defeated Sagat, the Emperor of the Muay Thai, after winning 20 fights in a row.
Yang Xiao Long: After defeating Sagat, Ryu went on to meet and fight many other warriors. Fighters such as Chun-Li, the strongest woman in the world, Gulie, the US Airforce Major, Dhalsim, the wise Yoga master, Fei Long, the martial arts movie star, and even prove capable of taking on his old friend Ken Masters.
Sora: It would take us awhile to go over how strong fighters like this are, but we can say for certain that a fair bit of these fighters can range from town level, to mountain level.
Yang Xiao Long: Ryu is also on of the few people to take on the leader of the Shadaloo organization, Mike Bison.
Sora: Yea- Wait what?
Yang Xiao Long: Oh wait... He was suppose to be called Vega in the original Japanese version, but that's now pretty boy isn't it?
Sora: Yes it is.
Yang Xiao Long: .... Well anyway, M. Bison, let's talk about him for a hot sec, what's he done?
Sora: Well, M. Bison is in command of a power known as "Psycho Power", which has been describe as the dark side of Soul Power. This power gives Bison a great deal of strength, power, speed, all of it stems from negative emotions, such as hatred.
Yang Xiao Long: Bison has also consistently beaten all SF characters quite a number of times. It takes Ryu, or a bunch of his friends together to beat this dictator.
Sora: But even M. Bison is inferior to Ryu's ultimate enemy. An enemy so strong, he was able to easily best Bison, and destroy an entire island in one punch.
Yang Xiao Long: Yep! Its big bad Akuma!
Akuma: FOOLS! I AM AKUMA! AND I WILL SHOW YOU THE MEAING OF PAIN!
Sora: NO ONE among Ryu or his friends could beat Akuma, save for Gouken who bested him once before Akuma gave into the Hado.
Yang Xiao Long: Ryu however, is the only one among the fighters who could hold his own against the master of the fist. He almost won they're first fight. Till it was discovered Akuma was holding back.
Sora: And many of these feats are the results of his base form. Now we move on to when he becomes Evil Ryu.
Yang Xiao Long: Which, again, is featless and non canon.
Sora: You are right its non canon, but Evil Ryu does get access to some of Akuma's moves. Such as, the Raging Demon.
Akuma: DIE ONE THOUSAND DEATHS!'
Yang Xiao Long: It is said when one using this technique on they're opponent, it is with killing intent, and when it hits, the attack effects the opponent based on they're karma and can attacks the souls. Meaning, the more evil you are, the more effective this attack will be. It doesn't ALWAYS work though as some evil people survived it. But still, Sora, Evil Ryu is featless, so how can we measure his power without some feats to go on?
Sora: Simple. Kage.
Yang Xiao Long: Who?
Sora: During Street Fighter V, Ryu expealed the Hado in him, and it took its own physical form, becoming a being known as Kage.
Kage: Be afraid! Now you gaze upon your death!
Yang Xiao Long: Ooooh yeah... That guy was a thing.
Sora: And since he's basically Evil Ryu taking on physical form, we can use his feats.
Yang Xiao Long: He's only got 3 feats but good enough. This guy managed to beat Sagat, base form Ryu, and even took on Akuma, till Akuma once again said he held back and sent him again. So we can say Evil Ryu is stronger then base Ryu.
Sora: We can also add a moment, where Ryu was giving into the Hado, and it took Ken, Sagat, and Ryu's unofficial apprentice Sakura to beat him, while he was holding himself back
Yang Xiao Long: Power of friendship once again.
Sora: Now finally with the Power the Nothingness.
Yang Xiao Long: This analysis feels like its taking longer then Scorpion's and its making me feel bad.
Sora: We're almost done with Ryu don't worry. Now with the Power of Nothing, Ryu was able to once again defeat M. Bison, after he got massive power up from some moons he made which channel his psycho power.
Yang Xiao Long: And then went on to beating that weird Aztec guy, Necalli, who can I just point out, Akuma defeated him in his base stat?
Sora: You just did. Now we can finally show case a speed feat for Ryu.
Yang Xiao Long: Based on what we have seen, we can give Ryu moving faster then sound speed. This speed stems from him taking on Guile, who's attacks break the sound barrier, and dodging a laser fired by M. Bison's Psycho Drive.
Sora: So Ryu has base town and mountain levels of power, island level at his best, along with faster then sound levels of speed, combined with various moves and techniques that could kill evil souls. No wonder Ryu is considered the best.
Yang Xiao Long: Except he's not. Ryu has lost his fair share of fights before. Mostly to Akuma, but he's also lost to Ken Master at least twice. Akuma defeats Ryu everytime they fight, and when he doesn't Ryu gets help, or they are interupped
Sora: There's also the fact Ryu got brainwashed once by M. Bison.
Yang Xiao Long: And despite how powerful it is, Ryu always tries to resist giving into the Hado and it takes a great deal of focus to channel the Power of Nothingness.
Sora: Still, Ryu has proven why is a highly skilled martial artist, and in many ways, a hero.
Yang Xiao Long: His training may never end, but neither will his legend.
Ryu: The answer lies... In the Heart of Battle.

Sora: All right, we've told about Scorpion and Ryu's powers, skills, and faults, now its time to get to the fight.
Yang Xiao Long: Time to show once and for all who the champ of the fighting games is? Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter? Now let the battle BEGIN!!!!

Scene opens up in the Fire Garden, home to the Shiri Ryu Ninja Clan. Inside a building, the leader of the clan, Hanzo Hasashi is seen inside, holding his hands together in a meditative state. He sits there for a few moments. Before his eyes suddenly open. Scene cuts to two people entering the gardens. They are none other then Ryu and his best friend Ken.
Ken: So... This that place fire with those ninja guys you mentioned?
Ryu: The Fire Garden. Home to the Shiri Ryu ninja clan. And yes.
Ken: Ah yeah that's it. Why did you wanna come here again?
Ryu: As I told you, Ken. I've come here for training.
Ken: Ryu, no offensive but you're not a ninja, so I don't know what kind of training you could seek from here.
Ryu: I seek a different kind of training. I've heard stories that the clan's grand master was once consumed by his anger and fury. Maybe with his help...
Ryu holds up his hand
Ken: Oh... Right. I get ya. Well, either way, I'm right there with you buddy.
Ryu: Hm. Thank you Ken.
Ken smirks at Ryu. The two keep walking till they reach a building, just as the door opens. Stepping out is Hanzo Hasashi who looks at the two
Ken: Is that him?
Hanzo: You have entered the Fire Garden. We do not allow those we do not know. State your business here.
Ryu gives a bow to Hanzo
Ryu: Grand master Hanzo Hasashi. Forgive our intrustion. My name is Ryu, and this is Ken Master.
Ken: Sup?
Ryu: We are not here to cause trouble, grand master. But I've come here for a matter of great importance.
Hanzo: And that would be?
Ryu: I've heard stories of you grand master, and how you seek to change who you were. That is why I've traveled a long way, in the hopes that you will train me, so that I to, can tame the anger that's inside of me.
Scorpion is silent for a moment. He looks at Ryu, sensing his intention. While he doesn't feel any hostility coming toward him, he can sense a dark sinister evil power coming from him, one that is being surpressed.
Hanzo: I'm not sure if what you seek from me is the same as what I went through.
Ryu stays silent, as Hanzo walks to another spot
Hanzo: But. If it is a fight you seek. Then I happily will oblige you.
Ken: Wait a fight already? Shouldn't we maybe-

Ryu says nothing as he walks away from Hanzo to another spot. Ryu faces Hanzo, takes his iconic fight pose. Ken sees Hanzo getting ready to fight, as he steps away to the side to watch. Hanzo and Ryu stare each other down. They're ultimate battle, begins now.
FIGHT![]
Ryu charges as he begins the fight throwing punches at Hanzo, who blocks the blows. Hanzo throws some punches of his own, then suddenly, pulls out a small spear like weapon in his hand, and swings it. Ryu barely dodged it. Hanzo swings again, but Ryu stops the swing and punches Hanzo pushing hiim back. Hanzo reveals the spear is on some rope as he swings it around and moves twoard Ryu, forcing him to start backing up. After backing up, Scorpion retracts the spear, as Ryu tries to get ground back by going toward Hanzo, but Hanzo instead jumps over Ryu. Ryu turns only to be be hit by a couple of kicks from Hanzo who pushes Ryu back.
Ryu recovers and goes in to punch Hanzo who dodges Ryu's blows. Ryu gives an spin kick at Hanzo's head, but Hanzo ducks and then upper cuts Ryu in the air and Ryu falls on the ground. Ryu shakes it off and gets back up. This time Hanzo pulls out his sword and charges at Ryu swinging his blade as Ryu dodges the swings. At one swing however, Hanzo cuts Ryu's cheek a bit. Hanzo goes to attack again, but Ryu ducks the swing and then attacks.
'Ryu: SHORYUKEN!
Ryu attack Hanzo and hits him with a Shoryuken knocking him in the air. Hanzo lands on his back, but after a moment, quickly hops back up, as he he and Ryu once again just continue to exchange blows. Ryu manage to get an opening in Scorpion's guard as he delivers a few punches before kicking Hanzo back. After being pulls back, Hanzo pulls out a katana as he starts to swing his blade which puts Ryu on the defensive one again. Hanzo goes in for one swing, as it goes in slow motion of Ryu dodging the swing, but getting his cheek cut slightly.
Normal speed resumes as Ryu tries to punch Hanzo, but he dodges by backing away. He gets ready to charge only for Ryu to grab some near by stone, and chuck at Hanzo, knocking him back and the sword out of his hand. Hanzo hops back as he and Ryu charges, continuing landing a series of blows at each other. Hanzo dodges another blows and lands a low attack, tripping Ryu up, allowing him to jump and kick Ryu with both legs, knocking him on his back. Ryu gets back up as Hanzo attacks again, but Ryu blocks the blow, allowing him to parry the attacking, pushing Hanzo back. Hanzo pulls out his spear again as he thrusts it forward, Ryu however grabs the spear, much to Hanzo's surprise, and pulls Hanzo over to him, deliving a punch to him.
Hanzo starts to get angry as his fists light on fire. He charges at Ryu, throwing rapid powerful punches at Ryu, as he blocks some but gets hit by other. Hanzo knockings Ryu back, and then jumps in the air, he thrusts his fist forward, but Ryu dodges, making Hanzo hit the ground instead. He turns to Ryu, who then takes a step up as his fist charge with electricity. He goes in and lands several more blows against Hanzo pushing him back more, as he then charges up energy in his hand.
Ryu: HADOKEN!
The Hadoken hits Hanzo, and sends Hanzo into the building which he he first stepped out.
Ken: Whoa! Going hard already, huh Ryu?
Ryu: I had to. Master Hasashi was clearly getting serious, and so I must as well.
Ken: Think he's okay?
Ryu looks back at where Hanzo went. Inside, Hanzo is seen on the floor, sitting against the wall, various things in the room are scattered. Hanzo grabs his side and groans in pain. He looks around and then looks to the side, and his eyes open wide in shock. He sees a, what is now a destroyed picture of his wife and son. The force of the attack had damaged this most valued treasure of Hanzo's, and seeing it in this state, he is reminded of what had become of the two he loved. How they were both murdered, taken from him.
Hanzo: Harumi.... Satoshi.....
Hanzo's whole body shakes as he clenches his fists, which star to burn, the color in Hanzo's eyes start to leave as his anger raise. Back with Ryu and Ken they start to get concerned that Hanzo had not emeraged.
Ken: He's not coming out. Think we should go in?
Ryu: Maybe. Master Hasashi! Are you all-
The two suddenly a blood demonic scream in the form of Hanzo's voice, as the house erupted with fire, creating a force that knocks RYu and Ken down. The two get back up seeing the now destroyed house.
Ryu: Master Hasashi! .... What has-
Ken: R-Ryu! Look up there!
(Cues: Heat Haze Shadow, start at 1:17)
Ryu turns to where Ken's pointing, as a near by cliff top, a small tornado of fire forms. The tornado ceases as Hanzo is seen, now donning a ninja hood and mask, and his iris gone. Ryu and Ken look up in confusion, as Hanzo's hands light on fire. Hanzo raises his hand in an upward motion. Ryu notices below his feet, the ground heats up. He quickly steps to the side as a small wall of fire appears. And the ground heats up again, and he jumps back. He looks up at Hanzo as he's raising both hands
Ryu: Master Hasashi!
Hanzo looks down at Ryu. He turn suddenly throws a ball of fire at Ryu, that hits him, knocking him down on the ground. As Ryu tries to get back up, suddenly Hanzo appears outta nowhere, go on top of Ryu and starts to punch him while he's down. After several punches, Ryu kicks Hanzo off him. Ryu goes in to attack, only for Hanzo to suddenly vanish. Ryu's confused only for Hanzo to appear behind him. He grab's Ryu's head and starts to burn him, causing him to cry out in pain, before Hanzo kicks Ryu. Ryu pants in pain as he turns to Hanzo. He begins to charge up energy in his hands again.
Ryu: HADOKEN!!
The Hadoken comes toward Hanzo. But Hanzo pulls his fist back, and thrusts it forward, defeating the fire ball. Ryu's shocked as Hanzo vanishes again, and suddenly appears behind Ryu, upper cutting him, and then delivering a kick that knocks him down. Ryu gets back up again. Looks at Hanzo and decides to reason with him
Ryu: Master Hasashi! You need to stop!
Hanzo: Hanzo Hasashi is no more. I.... Am Scorpion.
Now dubbed Scorpion, Scorpion raises his arms up, Ryu looks down, but its too late to move as hellfire raises up, burning Ryu causing him to cry out in pain. Scorpion teleports once again as Ryu tries to recover. Appearing before him, Scorpion to deliver more blows against Ryu, but after several hits Ryu's finally able to recover by countering attack after he blocked the next blow, he kicks Scorpion, and then starts to deliver his signature spin kick
Ryu: TATSMAKI SENPUKEN!
Scorpion gets hit by the spin kick and knocks to the ground. Scorpion instead of getting back up, sinks into the ground through fire. He drops down from the sky and lands before Ryu as the two once again attack each other. After blocking Ryu's next wave of blows, Scorpion pulls out his sword, and slices Ryu a couple of times before punching him back. Ryu fires another Hadoken as Scorpion teleports. Ryu turns, only to suddenly get hit by Scorpion's spear, unlike before where he grabbed it. Ryu cries in pain from the spear.
Scorpion: GET OVER HERE!!!
Scorpion pulls Ryu over to him, and when he reaches punches Ryu in the gut. Followed by the gut punch, throws a punch in Ryu's head so hard, his skull cracks. Ryu falls to the ground as Scorpion walks up and stomps on his chest, breaking some ribs. As Ryu cries out in pain, Scorpion steps off Ryu, grabs him then throws him into a near by building
Ken: RYU!
Scorpion looks at the building Ryu went in. His hands light on fire as he prepares to burn it. But Ken suddenly steps up
Ken: All right Scorpy! Now you're fighting me!
Scorpion: You are not worth the effort! Leave before I end your life!
Ken gets into his fighting pose as Scorpion draws his sword once again. The two are about to charge, when the two suddenly start feeling shaking.
Ken: W-What?! What's going on!?
Scorpion looks around and looks toward the building Ryu entered. Suddenly, something shoots out of the roof top. It moves toward the two and lands near by. The figure is seen with darker skin, and purple outfit similar to Ryu's
???: So... "Scorpion"... Your fire can burn mortal flesh... But tell me... How well can it stand....
The figure's head turns, showing to be Ryu, now entering his Evil Ryu state
Evil Ryu: AGAINST A DEMON!?
Evil Ryu turns, stomping on the ground hard, as he gets into his battle pose. Ken looks in shock
Ken: Ryu.... No...
Scorpion turns to Evil Ryy as he withdraw's his sword. Scorpion goes over to his spot facing Evil Ryu, his fist lights up with fire as he and Evil Ryu charge at each other. Scorpion and Ryu both throw a punch at each other, conncetting they're fists. The resulting clash from the two fights, releases a shockwave of Hado energy and fire that forces Ken to hold his arms from the force of the attack. Soon after, Scorpion tries to punch Evil Ryu, only for him to dodge, which leaves Scorpion open as Evil Ryu delivers a wave of much more powerful punches and kicks. After getting kicked back, Scorpion tosses a fire ball and teleports. Evil Ryu bashes the fire ball aside, and turns to punch Scorpion, who appeared behind him.
Scorpion is knocked back, but recovers enough to see Evil Ryu coming at him. Scorpion back flips out of the way, and then jumps out of the way of Evil Ryu's punches. After getting distance, Scorpion turns jumps and tries to kick Evil Ryu, only for him to grab Scorpion's foot and tosses him away near some stone. Scorpion groans in ppain. He sees Evil Ryu approaching fast. Scorpion grabs a chunk of stone and tosses. Evil Ryu blocks it, but the momenary distraction lets Scorpion run up and land a few firey fists at Evil Ryu, before jump and kicking Evil Ryu with both feet, knocking him on his back. Evil Ryu rolls back on his feet as Scorpion is seen in the air, ready to punch him, but Evil Ryu parry's the attack.
The parry leaves Scorpion open as Evil Ryu preforms a much more damaging Tatsumaki attack. Scorpion grabs his sword and tries to cut Evil Ryu, but he easily blocks the sword and breaks it, allowing him to land several more blows against Scorpion. After another kicking, Evil Ryu charges up a Hadoken, this time a darker one.
'Evil Ryu: HADOKEN!!!
Scorpion holds up his arms to block as the attack hits, causing some smoke to appear all around Scorpion. After it clears Scorpion has taken noticable battle damage and pants heavily. Evil Ryu is seen approching Scorpion. He raises his fist
Evil Ryu: DIE!!!
Evil Ryu throws a punch, but Scorpion manages to catch it.
Scorpion: You want to be a demon Ryu!? Then join me where ALL demons belong! IN HELL!!
Scorpion grabs Evil Ryu as fire surrounds them both, and after a moment, they vanish. Ken recovers from the force of the batttle and goes up to where the two vanished
Ken: Ryu? Ryu?!
Ken is met with only silence
Ken: Ryu... Where did you go?
???: Yes. Where IS Ryu, boy?!
A loud stomp if heard. Ken turns to the speaker, as they slowly approach him, dark aura around them.
Ken: Oh that's just perfect...
Meanwhile, Scorpion and Evil Ryu are seen arriving. After arriving, Evil Ryu, breaks free for Scorpion's grip, throws a punch, but Scorpion teleports to avoid. Evil Ryu then looks around to where he is. He sees he's on a large platform on some rocky formation, and around him there's lava, fire, more large rocks, and he hears screaming all over.
Evil Ryu: Where am I!? What is this place?!
Scorpion: Welcome!
Evil Ryu turns to see Scorpion, infront of him, and Scorpion punches Evil Ryu. Before Evil Ryu could counter attack, Scorpion teleports appearing on a cliff top
Scorpion: This is the Netherrealm! Here is where all the souls of the damned go! Where demons like you claim to be roam! And a fitting place for you!
Evil Ryu: What do you think taking me here will do!? Heaven!? Hell!? Earth!? I'll crush you all the same!!
Scorpion: We shall see.
(Cues: Hyper Dragonball Z OST - (Theme of SSJ Vegeta) A Saiyan's Pride)
Scorpion disappears and reappears infront of Evil Ryu, throwing a punch, which Evil Ryu manages to catch, the force of the attack cracks the ground. Evil Ryu throws a punch, which Scorpion deflects, and the two proceed to throw fast paced punches and kicks. Evil Ryu breaks the cycle, and punches Scorpion, pushing him back near the edge of the platform. Scorpion gets his balance back and teleports away. Evil Ryu looks and sees him near some rock formation over lava. Scorpion throws a fire ball, and Evil Ryu's hands glow as he starts to throw fire balls at Scorpion.
The two continue to throw fire ball as they cancel each other out. After several blasts, Evil Ryu makes a mad dash toward Scorpion, making a lage leap. His hand glows as he throws a punch, which Scorpion teleports out of the way resulting in Evil RYu breaking the formation. He sees Scorpion near another formation as he jumps after him again. Camera shifts to an far off view of the battle field, as Scorpion is seen teleporting to another platform, and Evil Ryu destroying the one he was just on, and this repeats a couple for times as Evil Ryu chases the specter.
Soon Evil Ryu arrives at a bigger spot then before and it stays intact from his attack as he looks for Scorpion. He looks over to see Scorpion near a spot near the area Evil Ryu is at. Scorpion begins to raise his hand which is one fire, and after a moment, fire begins to appear from the ground. Evil Ryu jumps out of the way in time. In that moment, Evil Ryu starts to chuck more fire balls and Scorpion does the same, resulting in they're clash once again. After several fire balls, Scorpion throws his spear as Evil Ryu, who dodges it. He then rushes and grabs it.
Evil Ryu and Scorpion begin a tug of war battle as the two try to pull each other over to them. After several pulls, Scorpion's hands light on fire some more. The fire moves down the chain and toward Evil Ryu. After it reaches him, Evil Ryu cries out in pain. And with this, Scorpion goes for a hard tug which pulls Evil Ryu off the arena and into the lava. Evil Ryu feels the seething pain, but manages to grab on some land and quickly climbs back up.
After climbing back up however, Scorpion teleports to Evil Ryu, who gets up to attack Scorpion, but Scorpion, knocks the fist to the side, and slices Evil Ryu with his spear, who holds his wounds. Scorpion teleports away before throwing his spear, getting Evil Ryu. Only this time, instead of pulling Evil Ryu over, he pulls hard to the side and starts to spin around. As he spins Evil Ryu starts to go higher and higher into the air. Soon after several spins, Scorpion releases Evil Ryu and sends him flying. As Evil Ryu goes flying, he soon crash lands into the city of Nekros. Various demons and other creatures see Evil Ryu's crash landing. He groans in pain. Then growls loudly as he punches the floor and getting back up. He looks around till he turns to see Scorpion teleporting in
Evil Ryu: I'LL KILL YOU!!!
Scorpion: I'm already dead.
Scorpion and Evil Ryu charge and both throw a punch. The punches connect, and let out an even more powerful shockwave of hado energy and fire, knocking several residents off the city away and destroying chunks of buildings and walls. The two growl in anger as hold position, trying to gain some ground against each other, till Evil Ryu pulled back. Scorpion attacks, but Evil Ryu not only dodges, but manages to move behind Scorpion, while doing a strange pose. After words, Evil Ryu, charges up more energy, he goes toward Scorpion while in that pose, but Scorpion teleports out of the way. He appears behind Evil Ryu, punching him again. He goes in to attack again, but Evil Ryu turns, and parries the attack. And with Scorpion's guard down, Evil Ryu throws an upper cut.
Evil Ryu:' SHO!!
And another
Evil Ryu: RYU!!!
He holds for a moment, before thrusting up even harder
Evil Ryu: KEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!
Scorpion is knocking hard in the air. Evil Ryu lands, jumps up at Scorpion, grabs him by the leg and chucks him out of the city, toward the field of zombies. As Scorpions groans in pain, Evil Ryu lands near by, and starts to make a mad dash. Scorpion quickly gets up, grabs a near by zombie and throws him as Evil Ryu, stopping him in his track. With that, Scorpion appears through teleportation and punches Evil Ryu. Evil Ryu punches Scorpion in the gut. Scorpion kicks Evil Ryu's leg. Evil Ryu kicks Scorpion's face. The two are seen knocked back against each other's attack's as they pant. After several pants however, Evil Ryu starts to vanish, as Ryu returns to normal. Scorpion lets out a blood thirsty roar as he charges once again. Ryu closes his eyes, and focus. Scorpion gets in close, and he throws a punch. Scene goes into slow motion as Ryu however dodges, and delivers one more powerful punch. The scene returns to full speed as the force of the punch sends Scorpion flying, and he lands into lava.
Ryu pants heavily as he looks at where Scorpion fell.
Ryu: Its... Its over....
Ryu turns and starts to walk away. But suddenly he hears some noise. He turns. Suddenly, shooting out of the lava, Scorpion jumps out but his skin is now in red. Ryu looks in shock at how Scorpion could still keep going. But he brushes his shock aside. He then closes his eyes and focuses once more
Ryu: Concentrate.... Focus....
As Ryu focuses, he dives into the Power of Nothingness. His whole body glows in a bright blue aura. Scorpion whole body lights up with fire as he prepares to attack. Ryu meanwhile, starts to gather energy once more for a Hadoken, bathed in the Power of Nothingness.
Ryu: Its time to end this, Scorpion.
Scorpion: Agreed. Ryu.
Ryu: Shin-Kuuuu.....
Scorpion large balls of fire gather in Scorpion's hands he prepares to attack. Both attacks reach they're boiling point, as Ryu's eyes shoot open.
Ryu: HADOOOKEEEEEN!!!!
Ryu fires a powerful Hadoken, while Scorpion releases massive wave of fire. The two attacks are locked in something of a struggle as they try to push each other back.
Ryu: I'll never stop. I'll push forward. I'll reach my full potential! And I will fight with all I HAVE!!
Ryu pours All his remaining power, and then some into his attack. As the Hadoken overpower Scorpion's fire. A few moment's later, a bright light covers the whole area around Scorpion. After several moments it clears. Ryu powers down and pants heavily as he looks up. He sees Scorpion is gone, as are the surrounding zombie Ryu lets out a sad sigh.
Ryu: I'm sorry... Master Hasashi...
Ryu starts to walk away.
???: Hanzo Hasashi. Is dead.
Ryu turns to the voice, and gets a powerful punch in the face. Ryu is knocked on teh ground. He looks up to see Scorpion, injuried, bones are exposed, but still alive.
Scorpion: And now... You will join him!!!
Scorpion pulls off his hood, revealing a flaming skull. Ryu looks in shock, but closes his eyes. Scorpion pulls his head back, and breaths fire.......
Meanwhile back in the Fire Garden's, Ken is seen on the ground groaning in pain. The camera pans to who he was fighting. It is non other then the master of the fist, Akuma.
Akuma: You waste my time, boy. Now for the last time. Where. Is Ryu?
At that moment, Scorpion suddenly appears before Ken and Akuma. The two look at him, Ken wondering where Ryu is, and Akuma looking at him wondering who he is and where he came from. A moment later, Scorpion holds up a skull, with a head band around it. Ken's eyes open wide in horror as he knows. That is Ryu. And that Ryu. Is dead. Scorpion drops the skull, which shatters on inpact.
Ken: Ryu..... No....
Akuma is less then amused
Akuma: I don't know what form of creature you are... But Ryu... He was mine! I shall end your life for this!
Scorpion: You cannot harm me.... But I will show you the meaning of PAIN!!!
Scorpion takes a fighting pose as his whole body lights up with fire, as Akuma's purple aura flares up. Scorpion is ready for round 2.

Yang Xiao Long: OOOOOH THAT WAS WAY TOO HOT! THAT WAS SUPER HOT!!!
Sora: I think we outdid ourselves this time!
Yang Xiao Long: You bet we did! What a fight between the two ultimate fighting games!
Sora: Now its time to discuss why Ryu lost
Yang Xiao Long: Before we do, we should make this clear: Scorpion did not win the fight cause of some logic that he has "infinite" power in the Netherrealm. He does not. The fact he's lost while in that realm is proof of that. Now. Let's start.
Sora: Well. First off: We can say that Ryu more then likely has greater base level power then Scorpion. He has consistently held his own against town to city level fighters.
Yang Xiao Long: Ryu also has moves and abilities that could potentially one shot Scorpion, such as the Raging Demon with Evil Ryu. That move is meant to kill sinners. And the Power of Nothingness would be a great anti-evil weapon.
Sora: But despite his greater level of power, and anti-evil moves, Scorpion still manages to pull a win. Why you might be asking. Let's talk speed.
Yang Xiao Long: Ryu has consistently dodge attacks from his friend guile, who's attacks break the sound barrier, giving Ryu at least faster then sound speed. But Scorpion? His speed is much greater, as he has dodges lightening, thanks to his fights against the god of Thunder Raiden.
Sora: Scorpion also has a bit more to work with then Ryu. Ryu mainly uses his hands and feet to fight, along with some energy attacks. Scorpion however, uses not only his hand and feet, but he also uses swords, spears, and fire. Any one of these things could force Ryu to switch his plan of attack.
Yang Xiao Long: Now speed and more things might not work against someone of greater power all the time, but Scorpion does have one more advantage that would allow him to close the power gap. The Netherrealm.
Sora: Now again: Scorpion does not have infinite power in the Netherrealm.
Yang Xiao Long: But theoretically: Yes Scorpion could just chill out in Hell for awhile and just slowly get stronger while there, since its basically the sun if he was Superman.
Sora: But there is no evidence that Scorpion could raise his power to infinite if he was to do that. However, while he might nto have infinite power, he does get stronger while down there, that is a fact.
Yang Xiao Long: And while Scorpion is weaker then Ryu, his speed would allow him to evade Ryu's stronger attacks, giving him time to slowly raise his power over the course of the fight allowing him to match Ryu blow for blow. Quite a way to win a fight huh?
Sora: Very much. Some might disagree though, because some would say Ryu equals Akuma.
Yang Xiao Long: And that's a perfet spot to finish things off: Does Ryu equal Akuma? Based on what we have seen: No he does not.
Sora: Ryu has held his own against the Hado master time and again, but each time they fight, Ryu either loses, or they are interupped, we haven't seen enough to say that Ryu could match Akuma blow for blow.
Yang Xiao Long: And it doesn't helped that Akuma has EASILY beaten Base Ryu, overpowered Kage, and defeated an enemy Ryu needed the Power Of Nothingness to defeat, all while in his base state, cause Akuma does have his much more powerful Shin state, which no one's defeated in terms of canon
Sora: And if we did say Ryu equals Akuma, we could use a similar argument for Scorpion. Scorpion, and several other MK characters could scale to Raiden, who can scale to Liu Kang and Shao Kahn, the latter of which has merged entire planets together, and the former has consistetnly defeated him.
Yang Xiao Long: Scaling argument is a bit hard to do in some fighting games, but with everything we have seen in main canon for both series, this is where things stand.
Sora: Ryu's greater base power, and potential one shot moves allowed him to hold his own against the specter, but Scorpion's speed, arsonal, and the Netherrealm powering him up, proved too much for the Eternal Challenger.
Yang Xiao Long: Looks like Scorpion was too HOT for Ryu to handle!
Sora: The winner is Scorpion!
