History[]
Wanting to live up to the legacy of his older brother Michael, John Walker joined the U.S. military but did not feel like the hero his brother was. After accepting an offer from the Power Broker to gain superhuman abilities, Walker was convinced by his agent to become a superhero. Taking on the mantle the Super Patriot, John Walker embarked on a brief campaign to publicly discredit Steve Rogers, the super soldier known as Captain America. But after Rogers refused to become a government operative for the Commission and decided to give up the mantle and costume of Captain America, Walker was chosen to be the new Captain America by the Commission. After the revelation that the Red Skull was manipulating the Commission, Walker and Rogers worked together to take down the Red Skull. In the aftermath of the event, Walker resigned from the mantle, faked his death, and resurfaced as the U.S. Agent, a government operative whose first priority is his country.
