Trunks vs. Silver is the tenth episode of the first season of Bon's Death Battles. It features Trunks from the Dragon Ball Z series against Silver the Hedgehog from the Sonic series.

Boomstick: Time travelers... heroes from war torn-futures who travel back in hopes of saving their own. If only they ever understand the idea of paradoxes, like Trunks, the Super Saiyan with a badass sword.
Wiz: And Silver the Hedgehog, the master telekinetic.
Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick and it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win, a Death Battle.
Trunks[]
Boomstick: What happens, when you mix John Connor and DBZ? You get Future Trunks of course!
Wiz: Trunks is the Saiyan and Human hybrid son of Vegeta and Bulma from the alternate future. By the time Present Trunks was born, the timeline had been altered by Future Trunks' and Cell's trips to the past. Therefore, the two Trunks had completely different lives. Well-mannered, serious and very cautious, Future Trunks hails from an alternate timeline in which Android 17 and Android 18 murdered the Z Fighters and proceeded to create apocalyptic hell on Earth.
Boomstick: Future Trunks is trained by Future Gohan as a teenager, and becomes a gifted fighter and swordsman, these traits aid him greatly in the battle against the Androids after traveling back in time in order to save his own future.
Wiz: Just so you guys know, we will only be covering Future Trunks. Anyways, Future Trunks met Future Gohan for the first time, Gohan offered to train him by helping him become a Super Sayian, but Gohan lost his arm and was defeated by the hands of the Androids.
Boomstick: Wow, Wiz, you just had to say defeated by the hands of the Androids, dick move.
Wiz:...Anyways, after Gohan's death, Trunks experienced foe the first time the feeling of losing someone, and then the feeling of anger, which propelled him to become the legendary form, the Super Sayian. The Super Saiyan is a super powerful form which increses his power by 50X. Causing havok to whoever he is fighting.
Boomstick: Except more powerful then him. Anyays, Super Saiyan Trunks is still imensley powerful, but it uses it some of his inner energy known as Ki. Which he can maniuplate into different uses.
Wiz: These uses include basic flight, sensing life energy, and powerful attacks. These include basic Ki Blasts, Burning attack, which is the first technique used by Future Trunks in the anime or manga and is his signature technique. Trunks performs a series of rapid arm movements before placing his palms forward, with the thumbs and index fingers touching each other to form a small diamond shape, then he fires a powerful blast of energy from his palms towards the opponent.
Boomstick: Seriously, how does he move his arm's so fast in that attack?! Anyways, Buster Cannon is an energy wave fired from both hands. And Heat Dome Attack is where Trunks surrounds himself in a large dome of energy and fires an enormous blast of energy from it, capable of completely obliterating most opponents.
Wiz: Future Trunks is also one of the only Z-Fighters to carry a weapon, a sword, which he used to kill Mecha-Frieza with using an attack called Shining Sword Attack. He fires a Burning Attack slowly enough for the opponent to dodge by taking to the air, where he surprises and slices the opponent to bits before finishing them off with a flash of yellow energy shot from one hand. And thanks to training in the Hyperbolic time chamber. He can reach the forms of 2nd and 3rd grade Super Saiyans. They are a forced increase in the power output of the initial transformation, and thus is not in itself an actual transformation.
Boomstick: Trunks has done some impressive shit, he killed Mecha-Frieza and King Cool with ease. He also defeated the Androids and Imperfect Cell of his time-line. And is even stronger then the Perfect Cell thanks to his training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Wiz: But, he does have his faults, he cannot breathe in the vacuum of space. And while the 2nd and 3rd grade Super Sayian forms increase his stength and power, they decrease his speed.
Boomstick: But still, Trunks is still, a time-travelling badass. John Conner only wishes he could be as awesome as Trunks.
Trunks: You're about to find out what it's like to fight a real Super Saiyan, and I'm not talking about Goku...
Silver[]
Wiz: Ughh....
Boomstick: Something wrong, Wiz?
Wiz: Ughhhh....
Boomstick: Ehh, Wiz?
Wiz: UGHHHHH.
Boomstick: JUST TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG!
Wiz: I fucking hate Silver! *sigh* Look, there will be no biasm involved in this fight, it's just that I hate this guy. Anyways, Silver is an anthropomorphic heddgehog born 200 years into the future. Standing at 3'3" and weighing in at 77ilbs, Silver, unlike his rivals Sonic and Shadow, does not use his speed to reach goals, but he has been seen keeping up Sonic and Shadow before. Even though they are all as slow as hell in 06. But, he has kept up with them before, like in Sonic Generations for example. But Silver's main power is his Psychokinies. This power let's him grab just about anything with his mind. Even himself.
Boomstick: He's a pyscho!
Wiz: No Boomstick, 'pyschic'. Anyways, he can use his Pyschic abilites for offensive attacks as well.
Boomstick: Offensive attacks? Is the reason you hate him because he offended you?
Wiz: The other kind of offensive Boomstick, and yes, I am offeneded that I had to research such a character. Anyways, Silver pyschic techniques include Hold Smash, where he grabs one or a few more objects, charges up his pyschic powers, and hurls them at people. Pyscho Shock is where Silver leaps into the air and pyschic energy in his hand, when he lands, he slams his hand to the ground and sends off a shockwave which paralyses nearby opponents.
Boomstick: See, even some of his move names being with psycho! Anyways, Pyschic Knife is where he concetrates his energy into a knife-like wave of energy. Teleport Dash is where he, well, teleports. Grab All is pretty similar to Hold Smash, except he grabs all the nearby objects. He can't move while doing, yet he can turn a full 360 degrees, and it can stun airborn enemies. Psycho Smash is where Silver charges up Pyschic Power, this is one of his few attacks the more you charge it, the more powerful it gets. It can be used to push away objects or to paralyze an opponent. Also, he can use the attack to throw projectiles one after the other if he has picked up multiple.
Wiz: Meteor Smash is one of SIlver's most dangerous attacks. Silver gathers up debris in the surrounding area and uses it to form a giant ball. He then rolls it at the person he is fighting in an attempt to flatten them. And it can get even bigger the more debris is taken into it. Silver can also turn into a ball and use the iconic spindash and homing attack.
Boomstick: But wait, there's more!
Wiz: That's right! Silver can use the power of the Chaos Emeralds to turn into Super Silver! Super Silver is a 1000X power increase, offers invincibilty, gives him the Shield of Light ability, which stops any and all projectiles in a larger area than before and allows him to throw them an even greater distance, it does, however, have a time limit. Silver has done some incredible things over the years, he has fought both Sonic and Shaow to a standstill, saved his own future, and defeated Solaris, with some help of course. However, he is quite naive, cocky, and arrogant. And a lot of his attacks leave him vulnerable.
Boomstic: Still, Silver is one of the most powerful psychics in video game
Silver: To kill someone to save the world... Is that really the right thing to do?
DEATH BATTLE![]
Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.
Boomstick: It's time for a futuristic DEATH BATTTTLLLEE!
_____________________________________________________________________________________________ Trunks was walking around in a city, which he presumed was just one of the many citites destroyed by the Androids.
Trunks: Tsk, Android scum.....
But this was no odirnary destroyed city, it was Crisis City, the home to his next fight. As Trunks was examining the rubble, two figures hovered above him, two he knew very well, two that destroyed people's dreams of a happy world.
Android 17: Well, well, well sis, look's like little Trunks decided to come along.
Trunks: You bastards, how dare you destroy another city?!
Android 18: Hey, why did you blame us for this? We didn't even blow up this one.
Trunks: I don't know, maybe because you blew up every other place I've seen!
Android 18: Well that still doesn't mean you should make assumpt-
18 was cut off by a punch to the jaw that nearly blew her head off. 18 growled and the two Androids prepared to fight Trunks.
Meanwhile, a white coloured Hedgehog was walking around the city. He then saw the two Androids on the ground who he believed were innocent people. He then saw a barrage of Ki Blasts coming from above being shot by Trunks. The blasts destroyed the Androids. Silver look on in horror as the two he thought were innocent civlians had parished.
Silver: No, this can't be...It's, the Iblis Trigger....
Trunks sighed in relief as he was about to fly off, but Silver got in front of him.
Silver: You! You're the Iblis Trigger, fight me!
Trunks, confused, just flew past the hedgehog, Silver growled, and flew in front of him.
Silver: Don't try to run away! Fight me!!
Trunks: *sigh* Fine. I don't even know what this Iblis Trigger is.
Trunks took out his sword and Silver got into a fighting pose.
FIGHT!
Trunks starts by dashing towards the hedgehog, but, was grabbed telelekenitly.
Trunks: What?! I can't, move!
Trunks tried to struggle out, but Silver sent him flying down to the road below him. Trunks was smashed through the road.
Silver: Hmp, I thought the Iblis Trigger would have put up a better fi-
Suddenly, Trunks sliced SIlver from behind sending him to the ground. Silver landed on top of a car.
Trunks: A psychic, huh? Impressive.
Trunks floated down to the road. There was a big chunk in the middle missing after Trunks was sent through it. Silver got up while Trunks was looking at the chunk in the road. Then, he picked up the car and hurled it at Trunks. He saw it flying through the air and cut it in half.
Trunks was getting angry. He ran towards Silver again, sword in hand, and attempted to slice the hedgehog in half. Silver jumped back and shot a Psychic Knife at Trunks. Trunks jumped in the air, dodging the attack. He landed and sliced at Silver, sending the hedgehog back. A bit of blood came out.
Trunks: Aww, I got blood on my favourite jacket....And why was I wearing my favourite jacket to a destroyed city?
While Trunks was babbling to him self from afar. Silver wiped the blood off him and grabbed Trunks with his psychic powers. He then threw him through multiple buildings. Trunks regained control and kicked Silver away. Silver was sent on top of a building. Silver got up, and saw Trunks flying towards him. He then picked up multiple nearby boulders. He then chucks them at Trunks. Trunks shoots a barrage of Ki Blasts to destroy them.
Silver fired a Psychic Knife in a attempt to slice up Trunks, but Trunks begged to differ. He did some strange hand gestures really fast, before making a diamond shape with his hands. He then fired the attack at Silver but Silver grabbed it with his powers and threw it back at Trunks, hitting Trunks and sending him to the ground. Silver floated down to Trunks. As Trunks was getting up, Silver grabbed him telekentickly and put him against the side of a building, he then began to fly upwards as Trunks scraped up the side of the building. When they finally made it over the building, Silver began to fly down to the road, Trunks still grabbed telekenitically. Silver slammed Trunks face first into the concrete. A cloud of dust emerged....
When the dust disappeared, we see Trunks lying on the ground while Silver is standing tall.
Silver: That, *pant* is for the lives you've taken, Iblis Trigger.
Silver walks, having believed he had killed Trunks, but the fight was far from over.
Trunks got up with blood on his face. He was mad. He managed to get up, he began to charge up, getting louder over time, eventullay getting Silver to hear him.
Silver: Huh?
As Silver flew over to see Trunks charging up, he was shocked, he thought he had killed him. Trunks finished charging, his hair now golden. He had turned into the legendary Super Saiyan.
Silver: What?! How is he doing that without the emeralds?!
Silver floated down to the road Trunks was on. The two time-travellers started each other in the eye. Trunks took out his sword yet again, while Silver began to pick up rubble around him. Silver then chucked it at Trunks but Trunks destroyed them with simple Ki Blasts. Trunks then flew at Silver and punched him into a building. Trunks then walked into the building after punching Silver.
Trunks: Hello? Anybody in here?
Trunks continued to walk around, until he heard something crumble, and at that moment, the entire building collapsed on top of him.
And up on top of another building, we see Silver using his Psychic Powers to crush the building. Trunks then shouted as the debirse of the buildings litterally flew off him somehow. The Saiyan flew up to the hedgehog but Silver flew back to avoid it. Trunks then continued to chase Silver around the city.
Trunks: Get back here!
As they were flying, the Super Saiyan fired a barrage of Ki Blasts at the hedgehog, Silver dodged them as he grabbed a few and hurled them back at Trunks. The yellow blasts flew back at the saiyan who threw them, but he was able to dodge them easily. Trunks has had enough, he flew at full speed in front of Silver and....
BLAM!
Silver was sent flying to the concrete face first. Some of his blood was splatterd across the road. Trunks had smashed Silver straight to the ground. As the hedgehog tried to stand up, his attempts were brought to an end as he saw Trunks above him.
Trunks grabbed Silver and threw him on top of a building and starts doing hand gestures, he then formed a diamond shape in his hands. He had a clean shot on a faded Silver, and he wasn't going to waste it. He fired the Burning Attack at Silver, leaving the building easily destroyed.
As the rubble was left there, Trunks did the hand gestures again and fired another Burning Attack.
And he did the hand gestures AGAIN. And fired ANOTHER Burning Attack.
And he-You know what? Screw it! Let's just say he fired a lot of Burning Attacks, OK?! Jeez.....
Anyways, a few Burning Attacks later.
Trunks was floating in the air, he had just fired about seven Burning Attacks at Silver, he knew he had won.
But what he did not know, that he was wrong.
As Trunks walked away, seven coloured gems hovered above the rubble of the building and formed a circle. Silver was lifted into this hovering circle of the Chaos Emeralds. A bright light then glowed across the screen.
Silver had just became Super Silver. And he had one thing on his mind.
Super Silver: I WILL DESTROY THE IBLIS TRIGGER!
And with that, the yellow hedgehog flew to find the Trunks.
On the other side of the city.
Trunks, back in his normal form, took out a tiny capsule, opened it, and out came his Time Machine. Just as he was about to hop into it, he saw a huge building being hurled towards him. Trunks, while shocked, shot a Ki Blast at it, destroying it.
Trunks: That was close. Wait, who threw that building?
He then had a sudden realziation.
Silver was still alive.
And he.
Was.
Pissed.
Trunks hopped out of his time machine and went back into his Super Saiyan state. He began to sense Silver's life energy. He then shot a Ki Blast at building. As the building was destroyed, he saw Silver, now in his Super Form.
Trunks: So...this most be the rip-off Dad told me abo-
Silver threw a building at Trunks, interrupting him. But Trunks simply cut it in half with his sword. But, from behind, Silver kicked Trunks in the back. As Trunks was sent flying into the air, Silver teleported in front of him and used his telekinesis to throw him into Trunk's time machine, as Silver flew down towards him, Trunks flew up and did an axel kick, sending Silver flying into his time-machine.
The Golden Hedgehog landed inside, face first. As he landed in the seat, he looked around him, he didn't know this was a time machine, so he got somewhat confused. While he was inspecting, Trunks landed inside as well, delivering an elbow to Silver. However, Silver seem to be unscathed. Trunks began punching Silver, but Silver dodged it and accidentally punched the button that turned on the time machine.
Trunks: Oh oh....
The top of the time machine closed as the time machine was beginning to travel.
Silver: Uh, what's going on?
And with that, the time machine travelled through space and time, ready to go to a new location. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Iron Man vs. Lex Luthor
The machine stopped, it had reached a new location, the top of the time machine lifted up, and Trunks uppercut Silver out of it.
As the hedgehog was sent flying through the air, he was sent plummeting to a nearby road, in between two men. One was wearing a green, clunky armour with a red ball of energy in his hands, and the other was in a red and gold clunky suit.
Lex Luthor: Let me tell you something Stark, there's only one man in this world meant to play such a role....
Just as Luthor was about to fire the ball, he was grabbed by Silver's telekenisies, along with Iron Man, and both are hurled at Trunks.
As the two men in huge armour were sent flying at Trunks, Trunks barely managed to take out his sword in time and cut them both in half.
Trunks: Uh, sorry about that....
Iron Man: Oh not it's fine, you just CUT ME IN HALF, THAT'S ALL!
Trunks: Jeez, no need to be such a dow-
Trunks was interrupted by car hurled at him by Silver, knocking him into the time machine. As the golden-hedgehog flew over to the time machine, Trunks jumped up from the time machine, grabbed Silver, and brought him into the time machine with him.
As they fell in together, Trunks' back hit the button that turns it on. The top of the time machine went down, and they were sent to another era in time again.

The time machine landed in a graveyard. The two fighters got out the time machine and began flying around the graveyard. Trading blow for blow. While they were fighting, Trunks began to think.
Trunks: (thinking) This guy really is strong, I gotta make sure I am fully focused.
As Ken and Sub-Zero were fighting down below, they looked up and saw the saiyan and the hedgehog. Sub fired an ice-ball at the two for interrupting their battle, but Silver grabbed it and hurled it at Trunks. The saiyan dodged it barely, and Trunks delivered a punch to Silver that sent him flying towards Ken and Sub.
As the hedgehog was sent flying at full speeds towards the duo, he managed to put himself back on track using his psychic powers. He then proceeded to float down to the ground.
Trunks: (thinking) How did he not get sent flying to the ground?! He must be good....I may have to tap into the next grade of Super Saiyan....
As Silver landed, he saw the ice ninja approaching him.
Sub-Zero: Your power is...amazing...Please, shake my hand.
As Silver took out his hand, a fist popped through Sub-Zero's chest and said fist was punched by Trunks, the punch hit Silver and he was sent into the time machine. As Silver was sent flying, Trunks flew after him, but was grabbed teleknetically and thrown into the time machine.
As they both landed, Trunks' head hit the button that turned it on.
And with that, they were off again.
.....
As Ken saw the lifeless body of Sub-Zero on the ground after one single punch, he slowly backed away....

As the two landed inside the middle of a wrestling ring, the two hopped out and they saw Little Mac and Balrog in shock. Trunks tried to get a punch in on Silver, but he dodged it, and ended up hitting Mac, sending him flying. Balrog, pissed off at Trunks and Silver for interrupting his fight, punched Trunks in the face.
....And ended up breaking his arm.
As the boxer squealed in pain, he fell to the ground and grabbed hold of his broken arm. Suddenly, Trunks was lifted by Silver and thrown out of the building and onto a road outside. Silver flew outside and kicked Trunks as he was getting up, sending him flying to a nearby building.
After a bit, the building was silent, Silver was standing tall, and Trunks wasn't in sight. He thought he had won.
Boy was he wrong.
As Silver was walking away, the building finally erupted and was reduced to nothing more then rubble, under the rubble, however, was Trunks. But he was.....different, to say the least. He was much more muscley, and his hair was a lot bigger.
Trunks: This....is the Second Grade Super Saiyan.
As Trunks walked towards Silver, he stopped for a bit, then flew out full speeds towards Silver. He punched him and sent him flying.
As the hedgehog was sent soaring through the air, he landed back in the time machine, as he floated up, Trunks appeared out of nowhere and smashed him back into the machine. As he was sent back in, his head hit the on button, and, as usual in this fight, they were off again.
Darth Vader vs. Doctor Doom
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ As the travelers of time landed in their new location, it seemed to be a pre-historic like place, however, one not so prehistoric-looking, black-called, robot-like man, was standing alone, confused beyond belief.
Darth Vader: What is the meaning of this?
Suddenly, another robot-like man in a green cloack appeared from behind and sent Vader flying towards a dinosaur, but Vader takes out his lightsaber and slices the top half of the dinosaur's head off. As the dead dino stands, Silver grabs it telekentically and flings at Trunks who punches it, causing it to explode into a bloodymess.
As Doom charged Vader towards various trees in a forest, Trunks grabs Silver and proceeds to do the same. Until all four reach a volcano.
As they all get up, Vader and Trunks are next to each other, Trunks gets up and begins firing Ki Blasts which Silver grabs telekenetically, while Vader tries to force-choke Doom, but fails due to Doom's suit. Trunks and Vader swung their swords at Silver and Doom, but missed. Silver and Doom begin walking to Trunks and Vader, catching the Ki Blasts and resisting the force choke. Silver and Doom finally reach Trunks and Vader.
Vader: It is pointless to res-
Doom emits an electrical charge to Vader while Silver fires back all the Ki- Blasts he grabbed at Trunks, significantly damaging both. As they were both on the ground, Silver grabs Trunks and throws him into the volcano and Doom simply kicks Vader in.
Doom: You have no hope! HAHAHAHAHAHA-
However, Vader's lightsaber comes back, hitting Doom in the back and sending him into the volcano.
Silver: Few, glad that didn't happen to m-
Suddenly, Trunks' sword came back, hitting Silver in the back and sending him into the volcano.
As all four fighters were in the volcanon, Vader regains his lightsaber from Doom's back and tries to slash at Silver, but the hedgehog grabbed Vader. As Doom was above all the fighters, he took out a small pebble.
Doom: Got you!
...which turned into a massive boulder. He flung it at Vader, but Silver threw Vader out the side of the volcanon, creating a hole in the side. Silver dodged the boulder, letting Trunks take the hit and fall into the lava. As the half-saiyan screamed as he dipped in, Silver let out a faint smile, he had done it, he had defeated the Iblis Trigger.
As Doom time travelled back to Latervia, Silver floated out of the volcano to find Trunks' time machine. But suddenly, the volcanon erupted! Lava went flying out at what seemed faster then the speed of sound.
Silver was shocked, how could lava becoming out this fast?! But then, he realized, Trunks must have still been alive.
As Silver flew back to the volcano, the lava stopped, and there, he saw Trunks, covered in lava and burn marks and in his 3rd Grade Super Saiyan form. He roared at Silver and punched him, sending him flying into the air.
As Silver managed to gain control once again, he knew he had to end this. But how?
Suddenly, an idea popped into his head. He took the sword that was lodged in his back out and flew towards the burning coprse of Darth Vader, with Trunks chasing him along the way. Once he finally reached his corpse, Trunks get ready to deliver one final punch, while Silver picked up Vader's lightsaber. As Trunks swung his fist forward, Silver used his pyschic powers to send both the lightsaber and Trunks' own sword into the half-human half-saiyan's chest. As the Super Saiyan screamed, Silver floated into air and began to form a blue sort of energy in his hand, which he then forms into a knife-like wave. Trunks, despite the pain, flew towards Silver in an rage, only for Silver to teleport behind him. Silver then fired the projectile......
GAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
As Trunks reverted back to his base form, the energy disappeared into thin air, blood began to ooze out of Trunks' waist, two halves of his body becoming separated. The top half of his body began to slide off, and after a bit finally hitting the ground. Silver turned back to his normal form, completely healed. As Silver floated back to Trunks' time machine, he had created something he had wanted for a long time.
Peace.
Silver let out a small smile.
The pain.
The suffering.
The Iblis Trigger.
They were all finally dead.

Conclusion.[]
Boomstick: Silver you fucking idiot that wasn't the Iblis Trigger what are you on about-
Wiz: Ugh, as much as I hate having to admit that pothead won the fight, I can at least take pride knowing this was easily our closest match yet. Sure, Trunks did severely outclass Silver when he was in baseform, but Silver had ways of nearly every approach of Trunks. Ki-Blasts? He could reflect them. Trying to get up close? His insane reaction speeds and him liking to keep his distance say otherwise. His sword? Silver could simply take it away from him and stab Trunks.
Boomstick: However, when Silver entered his Super Form, the fight took a drastic turn, considering he's comparable to Super Sonic, who could defeat a full power Dark Gaia, who in a weakened state can do [1], he could easily hold his own, and even overpower Trunks.
Wiz: All in all, Base Form Silver could counter-act anything Trunks threw at him, while he could use Super Silver to secure the win.
Boomstick: Looks like Silver winning wasn't a dream, it was an absolution.
Wiz: The winner, is Silver the Hedgehog!

Hey guys, Bon here. So, I hope you all enjoyed the battle. I feel as if I outdid myself on this one. However, this isn't the point of the note, the point of it is to pay my respects to the Satoru Iwata, who recently passed away. The man created my childhood, and without him, I probably wouldn't even be here, creating battles.

Dragon Ball vs Sonic the Hedgehog! These two are time travelling heroes from a ruined future in two very similar worlds, but which of these spiky haired fighters have their time cut short?
Introduction[]
Aqua: The future. It holds a mystery over what happens long after our own time, and in some cases there's a bright future laying ahead.
Octo: But then there's the cases where the future is all kinds of screwed, and it's always up to some time travelling hero to return to the past and revert it to what it should be. Like Trunks, the half-Saiyan son of Vegeta.
Aqua: And Silver the Hedgehog, the telekinetic teenager from another time. I'm Aqua, she's Octoling, and it's our job to analyse their weapons, armour and skills to see who would win a Death Battle.
Trunks[]
Aqua: In the multiverse, there are many different worlds, many different times. No two universes or times are the same, and this was the case for one half-Saiyan from a different future: Trunks Briefs.
Octo: In Trunk's time, the legendary Saiyan hero of Earth, who we know as Goku, died from a heart virus. As such, all that remained were the Z-Fighters, and Trunks himself, the baby son of Vegeta and Bulma.
Aqua: As were to be expected from Goku's unfortunate passing, even with the likes of Vegeta being around, this left the door open for various villains to try and pillage the planet themselves. In this case, the threat came in the form of two androids. Android 17 and Android 18, who wiped out three thirds of the world's population all on their own.
Octo: This included the Z-Fighters, who tried but failed to halt the android killing spree. And couldn't be revived. Because Piccolo and Kami died and the Dragon Balls were rendered useless. But, with a little luck, two survived: Trunks, and for some reason... Gohan. Well hey, at least it wasn't Yamcha. Or Krillin.
Aqua: While the Androids spent their time seeking and destroying, Gohan and Trunks stayed on the run for 13 entire years, continuously training and preparing the teenage half-Saiyan to fight for himself. Too bad Gohan decided to approach the Androids on his own.
Octo: Yeahhhh, Gohan sacrificed himself to save Trunks, and this left Trunks the last of the Z-Fighters standing. However, thanks to Bulma, who thankfully was still alive, Trunks got his opportunity to return to the past, 20 years before, to save Goku from the heart virus and kill the Androids. So Trunks met the present day heroes and... found out he was in a different future.
Aqua: Which ended up getting them involved with Cell shortly after killing a returning but mechanised Frieza. Plus the Androids in this time... ended up not being that bad after all. 18 even had a child with Krillin.
Octo: Well, his time with Future Gohan and the present day team trained Trunks up to the point where, in his future once he returned, he was able to effortlessly destroy the two evil Androids in minimum hits! And then Cell too. Well, it wasn't actually a happily ever after, because Trunks had to return to the past again to stop a being known as Black who was ruining his future and killed his mother, but still, he did eventually save his future, so yeah, it was a happily ever after after all. Sort of.
Aqua: Like we previously brought up, Trunks trained with Gohan while on the run. Thanks to this training, plus further tutoring and gaining experience while in the alternate past, Trunks learned how to tap into his ki and utilise his hidden potential.
Octo: Ki is this energy thing inside your body, or your life force, and it can be powered up to make its user even stronger. It also has some perks to it to, and those who can channel their ki can sense the life force of other beings nearby. It also allows him to fly and shoot energy beams!
Aqua: These energy beams also come in a variety of forms, each using hand techniques to use their power. And it just so happens that Trunks has it pretty good when it comes to ki abilities. Such skills can either be learned from a single viewing, or can be learned on their own. In the case of copied abilities, Trunks can use the Masenko, a giant beam of ki energy. He can also use Tien's Solar Flare technique, and even learned the Galick Gun from his father, Vegeta.
Octo: Also from Vegeta is the Final Flash, an electric ball of energy that sparks even more energy, before forming into a giant yet shocking blast from Trunks' hands. And its pretty huge. As far as copied abilities go, Trunks can also use something known as the Spirit Bomb, a massive sphere of pure energy that's enough to destroy a planet when charged enough!
Aqua: That's not to say that Trunks just copies, he's got his own spin on using ki that stands him out from the others. Starting off small, we have his Saiyan Rapid Fire. It's exactly how it sounds, a rapid fire of small ki blasts that rack up damage. The Burning Attack on the other hand is a sphere of energy Trunks can use as a projectile, and if that doesn't work he always has the Buster Cannon, or an enhanced Super Buster Cannon to engulf the enemy in energy.
Octo: That ain't all though, because Trunks... has a lot more. The Continuous Energy Bullet, or Energy Burst, is a wave of combined ki waves far more powerful than a regular blast. It can also be fired rapidly for any quick finishes. He also has a move called God Breaker. It... doesn't break gods, but it is an heavily damaging wave of energy. Great for... curing a Cold! Huh? That was good. Because Trunks killed King Co...
Aqua: Yeah, we get it. Ugh, with that out of the way, lets move on to the Burning Storm. This move is an energy sphere that fires it's own energy towards an opponent in rapid bursts.
Octo: He used that to help Krillin blow up Dr. Wily's base.
Aqua: She means Dr. Gero.
Octo: Also,, Trunks has the Heat Dome Attack, which is basically the Spirit Bomb. Yeah. He used this against Future Cell when he completely annihilated the bug man. Trunks being a badass, as usual.
Aqua: Trunks isn't just all ki energy and no physicality though, as he's a capable martial artist with a range of pretty powerful strikes. Once such attack is the Deadly Impact, which involves an enraged Trunks focusing all of his energy into a single blow, which he uses to... punch a hole in your chest.
Octo: Oh shit Diavolo!?
Aqua: Pretty much, yeah. Trunks' surroundings also get incredibly dark, but thankfully he can control this rage pretty well. Another thing he can easily control is his sword. That's right, Trunks also has a sword and skills in swordsmanship, and he can combine these with his ki for special attacks.
Octo: Like the Shining Sword Attack, where Trunks dissects you, or in this case Mecha Frieza, into pieces before completely incinerating you with a large energy blast. There's also the Rapid Sword Stream, a large flurry of slices before Trunks finishes with one giant swing of the sword, inflicting a lot of damage.
Aqua: And, if his sword breaks, Trunks can repair the blade with energy. This is his Light Sword.
Octo: So Trunks is a martial artist half alien hybrid that can fire energy from his hands and knows how to fight with a sword? What next, he has transformations where his hair changes colour and... you know what, this is Dragon Ball, there's no point in hiding it. Trunks can become a Super Saiyan. Or Super Half-Saiyan, but whatever.
Aqua: There's actually three different grades of Super Saiyan Trunks can achieve. The first is your regular, 50 times multiplier Super Saiyan, but Super Saiyan Second Grade and Super Saiyan Third Grade are much more powerful enhancements. And then there's Trunks' version of Super Saiyan 2.
Octo: Super Saiyan 2 is a 100 times multiplier that goes beyond Second and Third Grade Super Saiyan. That's about it. But there's actually another Super Saiyan form that rivals Super Saiyan 2, and its the Super Saiyan Rage.
Aqua: When Trunks' anger takes a hold of him, he enters an enraged Super Saiyan state that far eclipses his regular Super Saiyan forms. He even managed to temporarily knock out Goku Black, albeit very temporarily. And before we move on to his feats... you underestimated Super Saiyan 2.
Octo: Oh yeah, that's right. Trunks mastered Super Saiyan 2 and ended up increasing his power so much that he actually matched Super Saiyan 3 Goku in power. It took Super Saiyan God Goku to incapacitate him, though he did it in one shot, so there's no way Trunks can surpass that third form. Yet.
Aqua: But that alone is just one showing of Trunks' ever growing potential. Even in his earlier appearances, Trunks in his Super Saiyan form was effortlessly killing Mecha Frieza and King Cold with absolute ease.
Octo: And Future Cell. All three being people who have enough power to destroy an entire planet. Like when Future Cell tried a Kamehameha that would destroy the planet. Trunks brushed him aside like nothing, and murdered that son of a bitch in cold blood.
Aqua: As much as I loved the phrasing of that, I'm going to have to say that no, Trunks is much stronger than that. Like we said before, Super Saiyan 2 Trunks is on par with Super Saiyan 3 Goku in terms of power, the same Super Saiyan 3 who stated that he could easily have defeated Kid Buu if he were to finish the fight quickly.
Octo: And here's where the scaling comes into play. Kid Buu should be reasonably stronger than Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta, and he even toyed with the guy without too much trouble. Super Saiyan 2 forms alone are vastly stronger than Super Saiyan is, and Gohan in Super Saiyan 2 got the drop on Cell, who threatened to destroy the solar system. A game and several databooks all back up this kind of threat, and Super Saiyan 3 is much stronger than Super Saiyan 2. Seems confusing, doesn't it? Well, that's the issue with using Dragon Ball. Given the reliance on power scaling, we kinda have to go out of our comfort zone and scale in ways that we wouldn't usually do. God I hate battle manga sometimes.
Aqua: And the funny thing is, that isn't even Trunks at full power. Super Saiyan Rage Trunks held his own against Goku Black and Future Zamasu simultaneously. Bear in mind, Trunks was also the one who destroyed Fusion Zamasu's body. The very same Fusion Zamasu that could hold his own against Super Saiyan Blue forms, which are also known as Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan forms. You remember the clash with Beerus that shook, and only shook the universe? Yeah, well...
Octo: Hey, Trunks held his own against Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta for a time. Just go with that, even if Trunks isn't actually as strong as them. So what about speed? We've gotta cover that too.
Aqua: Well, we do have the Super Saiyan Blue forms, which again should be stronger than Super Saiyan God. SSG Goku held his own against Beerus for a time, as we know, and Beerus is somewhat comparable to Whis, who arrived on Earth from Beerus' place in a short timeframe. This feat required Whis to be moving at speeds reaching nearly 500 quadrillion times the speed of light.
Octo: Now, while Beerus isn't as fast as Whis, and Goku isn't as fast as Beerus, and Trunks isn't as fast as Goku, they all should be fairly close. Still, they're far faster than light regardless.
Aqua: Trunks may be impressive, through confusing scaling or not, but he's not perfect. Possibly another trait inherited from his father.
Octo: Trunks makes mistakes. That much is well known, through him accidentally screwing things up within the timeline or otherwise. But he has more flaws, such as the fact that... he can't breathe in space. Which compared to what we just went over, seems like a very dumb weakness all things considered.
Aqua: While not too noticeable, the Super Saiyan forms do drain energy, and Third Grade Super Saiyan has it's own weakness in which Trunks struggles to maintain the form due to his increase muscle mass, which in turn quickly drains his energy and makes his movement much slower. Even Cell brings this up.
Octo: This doesn't stop Trunks from obtaining his full potential though. Despite messing up the past a little and never truly being able to stop fighting, he actually has helped to save the future countless times over. Also you know Mai? That girl who was part of Pilaf's gang and got transformed into a child? Yeah, Trunks settles down with her. Not her child self. Obviously.
Aqua: Thus cementing Trunks' status as a Z-Fighter, and one of the best Saiyans to have ever lived.
Silver[]
Aqua: Octo?
Octo: Yeah, 'sup?
Aqua: What would you expect the future to be like?
Octo: Well, if I had realistic expectations, I'd say it'd be very similar to now, only with tech that's seen as innovative today being a regular part of life. Also the Nike One 2022 from Gran Turismo 4 will be a thing. But if I were to be honest, it's going to be a ruined fireball of hell.
Aqua: Well, the latter guess rings very true for 14 year old Silver the Hedgehog. Coming from a future where cities have fallen and become a lava filled mess, Silver spent a majority of his years alone with his best friend and dimension hopper Blaze the Cat, saving what was left of the world from a fire demon known as Iblis.
Octo: Iblis was a silent fire god who got defeated, only to just come back bigger and better. Silver and Blaze were struggling to keep up, and they were fighting a losing battle upon ever encounter, only barely holding their own each time. But thankfully some shadow demon named Mephiles showed up and decided to give the white hedgehog a helping hand.
Aqua: Mephiles informed Silver of an "Iblis Trigger", who as the name suggested would trigger the awakening of Iblis. Through a vision, Mephiles showed Silver that the Iblis Trigger was in fact legendary hero of the past, Sonic the Hedgehog. Which as you'd think, was complete bullshit.
Octo: Right you are, it was in fact the cursed princess that Sonic was trying to get into the pants of, but Silver was a naive hedgehog, and immediately took Mephiles' word.
Aqua: Heading to the past, Silver tried assassinating Sonic in cold blood, which was what Mephiles was wanting. See, the plan was that Mephiles wanted to fuse with Iblis to become a sun god known as Solaris, and to awaken Iblis he would have to break the bond Sonic had with Princess Elise the Third, therefore making her cry and subsequently release Iblis.
Octo: Because fusing with him in the future was out of the question! Well, after an... unlucky encounter with Shadow the Hedgehog, Silver eventually realised that Mephiles was an evil bastard and that Sonic wasn't the trigger after all, which honestly, Blaze really should've mentioned. Damn inconsistencies!
Aqua: As a result, Silver teamed up with the hedgehogs to return his good future and save the world, and he lived happily ever after. Until he came back again. And again. And again.
Octo: Seems the past was just too irresistible for good old Silver.
Aqua: But Silver couldn't fight back without skills of his own, which begs the question: what can Silver actually do?
Octo: Well, let's start off with the basics. Being a hedgehog from Sonic's world, though that hedgehog exclusivity is kinda forgotten, Silver can roll into a ball to perform moves like the Spin Attack, Spin Dash and the Homing Attack. Each ability has Silver either jump in a ball to bounce on enemies, rev up to high speeds after a short charge, and home in on certain enemies or objects nearby.
Aqua: But unlike his fellow Mobians, Silver doesn't have a reliance on some of these techniques to fight back, and that's because he mostly spends his time in the air and throwing things. Or even his opponents. And that's because Silver has psychokinesis.
Octo: So... it's some mental ability that allows Silver to hover, fly, use telekinesis and do all sorts of crazy things?
Aqua: Pretty much, but psychokinesis let's Silver do more than mere "crazy things". As we mentioned, Silver uses this power to fly and grants him telekinetic abilities. But there's more to this skill than telekinesis.
Octo: Okay, so get this. Silver is a user of ESP. We've had these kinds of characters on the show before, in the form of Tatsumaki, but let's go over what it allows Silver to do. With ESP, Silver can directly attack the minds of others to... basically invert their controls. Of course, that's in the context of the game it's from, really it only messes up your mind. Even the mentally skilled likes of Metal Sonic and Espio struggle to break this hold.
Aqua: Silver can also use ESP to immobilise an opponent's movements, or use very limited telepathy that effectively allows him to cause vertigo in others. Definitely useful, but not as useful as the fact that he can use telekinesis to catch and control non-solid objects, including energy blasts for example.
Octo: Actually, can we stick with the telekinetic crap for one second? Silver, a 3 foot hedgehog, can summon in large quantities of objects and form them into a massive ball. This is the Meteor Smash, and Silver uses it to crush, destroy and... kill Sonic in a race.
Aqua: That... is correct. But remember, Silver is more psychokinetic than telekinetic. Sometimes he can even use said psychokinetic energy and either weaponize it or use it as a defence. Like the time he faced Infinite, where Silver used his energy as a sort of force field.
Octo: But who cares about the defence when you can go all out attack and turn mental energy into literal blades, which is the case with the Psychic Knife. Or like we mentioned, he'll straight up paralyse you with the Psychic Shock. He'll even throw objects at you with even more force through his Psychic Smash too!
Aqua: Silver can also teleport with his Teleport Dash, and even time travel through Chaos Control, though he needs someone else to help him do such a thing, and he can't stop time with it like Shadow can.
Octo: However, Silver has used Wisps before during his trip to Eggman's amusement park. The handheld DS version. Don't ask. Anyways, the Wisps Silver has utilise before include Cyan Laser, Yellow Drill and Indigo Asteroid specifically. Now these Wisps power Silver with "Hyper Go-On Energy", which in the case of these three, allows Silver to zip along at high speeds, drill underground and turn into an orbiting planetoid that sucks in debris. Not really all that impressive, but it's something.
Aqua: What's more than something though is one of Silver's most notable transformations. By utilising the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds, Silver can become...
Octo: A Super Saiyan!
Aqua: You mean Super Silver. While he only really accessed it along with Sonic and Shadow lending him energy, Silver can still most likely achieve this form on his own outside of plot related reasons. Besides, scalable characters who have turned Super through this have accessed it alone before. And let me tell you, Super Silver is not to be messed with.
Octo: This form can fly, is nigh-invulnerable, is far far stronger and faster than regular Silver, and even has it's own little Shield of Light which allows Silver to shield himself in psychokinetic energy and reflect projectiles. What else can this kid do, face multiversal gods?
Aqua: Well it's funny you should say that, but let's come back down to Earth for a brief second. We've got to go over Silver's feats in base form first.
Octo: What is there to say other than the fact that Silver is comparable in strength to Sonic and Shadow. In his very early days, Sonic had to break the chains of Little Planet to save it from Eggman. The amount of energy going through this would be enough to place Sonic on small country levels if we were to go with the typical tiering system. He also scales to Sonic in speed too.
Aqua: You'll recall that on a couple of fights, both coincidentally involving JoJo characters too, we found that Sonic while running could exceed the speeds of his Light Speed Dash, which placed him at around nine times faster than light. Now, while Silver hasn't been shown to boost, he can probably keep up with a casual Sonic, who without boosting moves a couple of times faster than his dash.
Octo: Blah blah, who cares about that when we have Super Silver! Now, seeing as the events of Sonic 2006 took place after Sonic Battle, it seems reasonable that we can scale Super forms to the Final Egg Blaster, which was itself powered by the Chaos Emeralds. One blast from this bad boy destroyed a cluster of stars. That's impressive for something powered by the emeralds, and seeing as the Super forms use more power, Silver and the others should be vastly stronger. A shame they don't scale to Solaris.
Aqua: You say that, but there is a way we can scale Super forms to Solaris. While we don't use the method of "harming equals scaling", we do have a reason for Super forms scaling to Solaris' immeasurable speeds. Solaris can move beyond linear time, correct?
Octo: Yep.
Aqua: Well, to even stand a chance against Solaris, having speeds over light and infinite speeds wouldn't actually be enough to keep up with them. After all, they had to attack Solaris across all of time in the past, present and future, and those kinds of speeds would be limited to linear time. Again, Solaris can move beyond it.
Octo: Wait, but wasn't Solaris held in Sonic's dimension?
Aqua: That's more applied to space rather than time. Eggman even referred to Solaris as being able to "eat dimensions", also referring to the multiverse, showing that, again, that only really applies to space and not time. Of course, you could disagree, have your own reasons et cetera, but this is what our research shows, and honestly the reasoning isn't too far fetched. Still, Silver isn't exactly an example of a perfect hero.
Octo: Yeah, those mental skills of his are pretty draining. Silver requires a focused mind to pull off those kinds of tricks, and his psychokinesis can be disrupted if he's not in a state of concentrating.
Aqua: Silver is also naive, and quite reckless. His Super form also runs on limited amounts of Chaos Energy. The argument of ring consumption is merely a game mechanic if anything, but Sonic Unleashed had an energy counter, which supports the idea of it being Chaos Energy consumption over Ring Energy. Still, it can run out, and Super Silver isn't entirely invincible. Enough force can damage Super forms, it already has before.
Octo: Still, flaws aside, after taking down Solaris and having the timeline reset, Silver was thought to be erased from the timeline, yet managing to see his fixed future beforehand. Well... turns out that it didn't do either of those things, but eventually Silver met up with the Sonic Team once again, helping Sonic and friends in past, present and future.
Aqua: It goes to show that, fighting for his future or for the present, Silver the Hedgehog is a true hero of time.
Interlude[]
Aqua: Alright, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities.
Octo: Yeah, it's time for a Death Battle!!!
Death Battle[]
The future was bleak. Buildings lay crumbled, the foundations that once held up this thriving city left to rot as a result. The grounds and roads had been demolished, the lava levels rising up and burning out the seas of the world, essentially taking it's place. Resources were dry, humanity was nearly entirely wiped out, and there was even a fire god on the loose. However, in this destroyed timeline, there was a shining beacon of hope. One that took the form of a time travelling hero who we knew only as...
Trunks.
The Half-Saiyan son of Vegeta and Bulma flew around, looking around at what was supposed to be his future. Only problem was that this wasn't his future, and Trunks knew that immediately.
"Wow, I knew my world was bad and all, but nowhere near the level of this!" he told himself, knowing that there wasn't really anyone who could question why exactly he was talking to himself. He kept flying around, wincing at the sight of burnt animal bodies and even some dead people still lying around. Frankly, it was worse than a disaster. Worse than what the Androids could do.
Still, it didn't stop Trunks from exploring, but the human-Saiyan stopped in mid-flight. He could sense life, a power that was different from a human and a Saiyan's, even an android's. This felt like some sort of mental power that even Trunks didn't know existed yet, and turning around he immediately spotted the source. "Wait, is that a hedgehog and a fire cat?" Trunks said, before going over his words in his head.
"Wait, fire cat? That must be an accomplice. Well you're not ruining some other future on my watch!" Trunks thought, assuming that the cat girl was the reason behind the destruction. Charging up his ki, Trunks blasted over to the duo at maximum speeds, and suddenly showed up in front of the cat. The girl blinked, saying "What?" as Trunks slammed her from above with a hammer smash."BLAZE!!!" the silver hedgehog yelled out, calling for his friend who plummeted towards the lava below.
The hedgehog tried rushing down as fast as he could, but Trunks grabbed a hold of his boot and threw him into the side of a somewhat standing building, which almost crumbled to the ground. Trunks zoomed over to the hedgehog, who quickly used his telekinesis to elevate Blaze up to safety on the top of a building. Unfortunately, this meant that he didn't have time for defending himself, as Trunks punched him through the building itself, creating a massive hole that certified the end of the unlucky building.
Trunks turned around and saw Blaze escaping, thinking "I'll find her soon enough. First to take down her friend here" before approaching the hedgehog by flying forward where the building used to be. "I don't care who you are, nobody can do that to my friend and get away with it!" the creature told the Saiyan, who laughed. "Really? You say that yet happily caused all of this?"
The hedgehog blinked, shocked over the sudden accusation. Instantly, he resorted to arguing back, clearly not pleased with being accused of doing something he was trying to prevent. "What makes you think I... sorry, we did this?" Trunks smirked, knowing he had him on the ropes. "Hey, your girlfriend has fire abilities, and look at this place. What, you're going to say a fire god demon did this?"
"That's exactly what caused this. I'm trying to prevent him from making all this worse!" the white woodland creature fought back, to which Trunks smiled. "Hey, I've seen all manners of stuff from bug people to whatever the hell that metal freezer guy was, but that's just ridiculous. Sorry weed hair, but..."
Name's Silver, actually, and at this point I'm tempted to pound you so hard your own mother is going to be jealous!"
Trunks winced at the insult, remembering present Bulma's hitting on him. "This crap again... uh oh." Trunks said, before his face dropped in the knowledge that Silver was charging straight towards him, shouting "IT'S NO USE!" as he did it. Trunks was left speaking "Nonononononono!" quickly, as Silver threw the first punch...
FIGHT!
Only for Trunks to catch it. "I'm not my father, I'll actually hold my own against someone charging me." Silver's face went into shock, giving Trunks the opportunity to strike right back. And that he did, as Silver was punched in the stomach and sent flying. Putting his hands out to the side, Silver immediately collected himself, and lifted two buildings which he used to crush the Saiyan. However, Trunks easily saw this coming, and held the two buildings back before they could smash him.
However, eventually he let go, as Silver grinned. Unfortunately, that smile was wiped off his face as Trunks immediately blew up the buildings with Burning Storm. This led to Silver being forced into evasive action, as he flew away from Trunks, diving left and right to avoid the extra blasts. Trunks was far too fast for Silver though, as when he looked forward again after checking for more energy blasts, Trunks appeared out of nowhere and started rapidly punching and kicking in mid-flight.
Trunks landed shot after shot on the future hedgehog, who avoided some but got hit by a majority. One last strike from Trunks hit Silver in the face, which threw the silver hedgehog into building after building after building, each one damaged by a massive hole going through them. "Take this!" Trunks shouted, charging his ki and blasting off like a blur towards Silver. He charged through the many buildings, pure energy causing them to explode, with Silver trying to hold himself before Trunks approached. He was too late, as Trunks fired his Galick Gun at Silver.
The hedgehog wasn't slow himself though. He teleported behind Trunks, who turned and fired the Galick Gun again. Only for Silver to perform the exact same trick again, using his telekinesis to grab a hold of Trunks this time around. "Hey lemme go!" Trunks pleaded, only for Silver to grab a car with the telekinesis in his left hand. "And here comes a giant fist!!!" Silver yelled out, as a bunch of debris in the form of a hand punched Trunks square on. The half-Saiyan held his head as he got very dizzy, but Silver wasn't holding back. He immobilised Trunks' movement, and started to control him, getting the Saiyan to punch himself in the face.
"Hey kid, why are you hitting yourself? Why are you..." Silver taunted, even getting Trunks to blast himself in the face with a Continuous Energy Bullet, which carried Trunks backwards, crashing through skyscrapers, which blew up the top halves. "BLASTING YOURSELF!" Silver finished, as heavy scraps of leftover tower rained from the skies. Silver surrounded himself in a force field to shield himself, but used some of the pieces to drop Trunks down a little. "If he's closer to the ground, maybe I can get him out of his comfort zone" Silver suggested to himself in his mind. Unfortunately for Silver, Trunks was far tougher than that. He blasted each section to nothing with a wave of energy, and lifted up the largest piece to throw at Silver.
"Well, there goes that plan." Silver groaned, using his telekinesis to hold the projectile. That was until Trunks smashed straight through the damned thing and delivered a point blank Masenko to Silver's face, blasting the white future hedgehog through even more scrapped buildings. "And don't call me a kid, I'm freaking older than you!"
Silver was still being carried by the Masenko, but energy wasn't going to stop him from throwing Trunks' attack right back at him. With his psychokinesis, Silver tried inducing vertigo in Trunks' mind, which got the half human half Saiyan very confused. "Why... is everything going... so blurry?" Trunks questioned, only for Silver to cancel the mind screwing quick enough so that his opponent would recover. Recover him quick enough to make him realise that the first thing he'd see was going to be...
"Not the Masenko!"
Trunks was surrounded by an explosive blast which blew up every last building there was left over, and smoke covered everywhere in their line of sight. However, Silver opened up some of the clouds and blasted full force into Trunks. Then he closed them, only to open the ones behind Trunks and blast through them. Rinse and repeat over and over, and eventually Trunks saw past Silver's scheme. On the next attempt, Trunks suddenly blasted light in the form of Tien's his Solar Flare. Silver, who was right next to Trunks, got blinded by the light, and this was Trunks' opening. Charging up at full power, Trunks' hair turned blonde and a yellow aura surrounded him. Trunks was no ordinary Saiyan anymore, he had become a legendary Super Saiyan.
"IT'S NO USE! TAKE THIS!" shouted Trunks, as Silver retained his vision only to see a giant yellow blast of energy, specifically the Buster Cannon. "WAIT NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!" Silver shouted in fear, only for the beam to engulf him entirely and blast him across the entire world. Silver's trip across the world only led to him meeting back up with Trunks, who turned around and hammer smashed him towards the ground. Silver couldn't do much as he crashed against a lamppost that was standing on a collapsed highway above the lava, and fell to the ground. The hedgehog groaned in pain, and flipped on to his back to see Trunks above him, and he was approaching at incredible pace. Silver used some of his energy to throw away the energy blasts that sailed towards his body, and prepared for Trunks' impact. However, this had been what Silver was expecting.
"Got you right where I want you." he whispered, Trunks being close enough to hear, and stopped accordingly to question why Silver would say such a thing. Trunks then realized as he struggled to move despite his Super Saiyan energy being charged and ready that Silver was wanting to keep his distance. "Judging from the sword and the fighting skills, you like to fight up close." Silver started getting up to his feet, coughing out blood but still standing regardless. Then he started to glow blue, and then he started hovering until he reached Trunks' level. And while the Super Saiyan struggled to break out, Silver slowly regained his courage. "Psychic Smash!" he said, his voice raising as he threw Trunks incredibly far backwards. Trunks' movements were still immobilized, while Silver increased his speed to catch up to the Saiyan, and he delivered a hard Homing Attack in midair that sliced Trunks' chest quite badly.
Even in Super Saiyan form he was struggling. Hell, Trunks had only gotten one good hit in thus far, and he needed to create a distraction to do such an attack. The only solution he had as he stopped flying backwards was to bring out his sword. Silver mentioned it, and inadvertently gave Trunks an idea. He could somewhat keep his distance through energy blasts, but he had to get close to Silver. He wanted Trunks to attack from distance, that was Silver's territory. But Trunks knew he was faster as a Super Saiyan, and close up was his bread and butter. So before Silver could prepare some Psychic Knives to throw, Trunks boosted his ki and bolted off at even more incredible speeds towards his hedgehog opponent. Trunks grabbed his sword, unsheathed it, and began hacking away at Silver. The hedgehog was stunned, somehow his idea didn't work. "He's too fast." Silver's thoughts explained, while Silver himself was being either sliced or kicked by the half-Saiyan, with blood being drawn plenty of times. "I can't keep going for too long, I'm slower and more fatigued. Think Silver, th-" he tried speaking in his head.
In the real world, Trunks had slammed the sword straight through Silver's stomach, and lots of blood had been drawn. Trunks breathed heavily, the fight clearly taking it's toll, but Silver was breathless. Blood covered the sword of Vegeta's son, and it looked as though Trunks had prevailed as he brought his sword back and sheathed it once more, Silver falling to the fiery hell below him. That was one down, and there was one to go, and Trunks decided to finish Silver off in a blaze of energy. Raising his hands into the air, Trunks drew power into his palms, which grew into a large sphere of pure Saiyan energy. This would take the last wind out of him, and he'd have to find a place to rest for the night, but it'd be all worth it if he could pull this off. "SPIRIT BOMB!!!" was the last thing Trunks said until he let the Spirit Bomb go and light surrounded the entirety of the country, causing Trunks, Silver and the entire city to disappear in said energy.
Trunks examined the area once again, and realized that somehow, someway, he and Silver were in the far distant past. Both somewhat had time to recover, but this recovery time being for them both told Trunks that what he did was futile. However, what wasn't proven to be useless was Silver's last ditch attempt to save himself despite his lack of energy and injury. Having used Chaos Control with one of the Chaos Emeralds he had with him, and summoning the power of the remaining six from across the world, he had become stronger.
"I knew it! You're one of those Saiyan hedgehogs Dad told me about!" Trunks exclaimed, as Silver's hair had turned yellow, and his quills were spiked and upturned. "Saiyan? No, this is Super Silver, and this is going to hurt your future." Silver told Trunks, as he kicked him straight in the groin. While Trunks winced in immense pain, Silver used his far superior speed to his advantage. Before Trunks, or even any mortal man for that matter, could react, he zipped left, right, up, down, diagonally, any way he could feasibly move, and struck Silver with some psychokinetically powered punches and Homing Attacks. Trunks, who was battered and bruised, was thrown left, right and center, as the yellow hedgehog delivered all manners of attacks.
This was infuriating Trunks, and his power levels were rising as a result. Past his grades, past Super Saiyan 2 even, Trunks yelled out as he brought in all of the ki energy he could find from all the nearby living mammals and creatures (a majority of which were the very first signs of life on the planet) and activated his Super Saiyan Rage. He wasn't holding back, and he wasn't going to delay things any longer. As soon as Silver rushed back in for another all out attack, Trunks grabbed the flying hedgehog and flew straight to the ground, slamming him into it. And then, grabbing the dazed hedgehog by the leg, Trunks boosted at full speed high into the sky and chucked Super Silver as hard as he could into the air. "Maybe space can take care of you, you bastard! Stay dead!" Trunks screamed at full volume to his enemy, and to finish him off, Trunks summoned a giant, final, planet sized Spirit Bomb using the energies he had absorbed, and threw that into the air with Silver himself.
By this point, Silver had reached space. He was looking down on the planet, Trunks' attacks having not damaged him and only mildly inconveniencing him at best, and smiled. "That's his last resort huh? No problem." he stated, as the Shield of Light surrounded the superpowered hedgehog and prepared to tank the attack. Using it against Trunks would destroy the planet, so Silver had to come up with another form of attack.
Trunks kept watching to the skies as the Spirit Bomb exploded. Maybe it blew up a moon or something alongside Silver, but Trunks knew that it wouldn't harm the planet or affect the future of this world too much. At least, he hoped not anyway. It certainly would affect Silver, because he was surely dead, and this gave Trunks the opportunity to rest easy. Deactivating his Super Saiyan Rage form, Trunks' hair returned to normal, and he turned around to find some way home. "Meh, maybe my time capsule is arou-"
"Let your guard down." said the voice of a teenage yellow hedgehog, blasting a Psychic Knife straight down Trunks' body while he was immobilized by ESP. Slowly, Trunks' body split in two, blood and insides leaking out all over the dirt ground while the two halves of Trunks' head retained the shocked expression on their half-faces. The attacker was revealed to be a certain Silver hedgehog, with Silver's Super form running out at the same time as the half-Saiyan's body splitting, and looking over the body, Silver winced. "That... is absolutely disgusting." he groaned in disgust. Looking around, Silver noticed that the Chaos Emeralds took like shooting stars and took off across the world.
"Well, I'm finding a way home. Maybe I can train one of these dinosaurs to use Chaos Control."
T-Rexes had suddenly found the hedgehog, and Silver was looking like a tasty snack. So they roared right in Silver's face, causing his quills to shoot back. Arms dropped to his sides, Silver grumbled "Or I'll just find the Emeralds and use the time capsule myself." he huffed in anger, walking off and throwing the dinosaurs aside.

Octo: Eh, don't sweat it Silver, those emeralds are nothing but plot triggers anyway, you'll get home. But anyway, what in the hell!? I coulda sworn that this was going to be another easy win for the Dragon Ball dude.
Aqua: Well, it actually appeared that way at first. Trunks was certainly stronger than base Silver in base and his Super Saiyan forms, and the latter held the edge over the former. Trunks could've very easily have just ended the fight there and then, but here on Death Battle, we don't look at who wins in one form, we look at the bigger picture.
Octo: And the bigger picture was that, while far stronger than base Silver and beyond the strength seen by Super Silver in his latter two Super Saiyan forms, Trunks was horrifically hampered by his inferior speed, and Silver's useful abilities. Take it away Aqua!
Aqua: With pleasure. Let's compare Super Silver to Super Saiyan Trunks and his subsequent Grades. We are aware that both are relatively close in terms of power, with one being able to stand up to the solar system busting Cell and the other scaling to the Emeralds' energy use in star cluster destroying weapons like the Final Egg Blaster. It was kind of hard to find a clear winner between the two, but then we remembered two things.
Octo: One, Trunks doesn't really have any counters to Silver using his paralysis attacks or similar psychic connected abilities on him in the Super form, which vastly improves his power and further sinks Trunks' chances. Two... Silver was just far freaking faster. One is far faster than the speed of light, the other makes linear time obsolete. There was no way in hell Trunks could've got a single hit in, let alone be able to defend himself. Even keeping his distance wouldn't have worked, as either Silver would've closed the gap immediately, or he'd dominate in the long range game with the likes of his paralysis and vertigo telepathy bullshit.
Aqua: Which brings us to Dragon Ball Super Trunks and Super Silver. It was a no-brainer that Trunks took a strength battle with ease. Being on par with Super Saiyan 3 Goku and even holding his own against his own father in Super Saiyan Blue was far, far better than anything a star buster could do. But even if we were to scale him to the likes of Whis or Beerus through stretched out scaling via the blue forms, Silver has that speed edge. That... infinitely faster speed edge.
Octo: So while he was more stronger and durable, that didn't mean that Silver couldn't put Trunks down with his attacks. Even if your opponent is far more durable than the strength you put out doesn't mean that they can't be taken down eventually. While he did have a time limit to work with, Silver actually had ways to bypass durability too, meaning that he didn't actually have to tackle Trunks directly. He could throw about Trunks' internal organs, mess his mind to make him lose focus on his power increase, and there was nothing Trunks could do in return.
Aqua: Long story short, Super Silver's massive speed edge was actually his saving grace in this fight. Now, in the past when we would've argued against immeasurable Super Silver, yeah, Trunks would've taken this bout relatively simple. But opinions change, and looking more into the Solaris stuff told us that we had really been underestimating Super Sonic and such for a long time.
Octo: So overall, Trunks was stronger, but Silver had the more useful abilities and a massive speed edge that gave him an easy time avoiding Trunks. Plus Silver's tactic of keeping his distance limited Trunks' moves to his energy blasts, and when your opponent can easily repel them... yeah. So let's keep this brief, there was no silver lining for Trunks in this fight. Not by a long shot.
Aqua: The winner is Silver the Hedgehog.
