Even if this hero society comes crashing down... even if I rise to rule the underworld... that weight in my heart is never gonna go away. It's why I hate everything. Every living, breathing thing just rubs me the wrong way. So why not destroy it all? Why not destroy everything?

History[]

Tomura was born under the name "Tenko Shimura". When Tenko was a child, he had a fascination with heroes, but his father did not tolerate his acts and often punished him for them by putting him outside. Tenko did not seem to have a Quirk but he suffered from unknown physical changes to his body. However, his mother and grandparents were always there for him and encouraged him, as did his older sister who showed him a picture of their father and grandmother, who they learned was a hero.

Unfortunately, Tenko's father discovered this and punished his son, while also shaming heroes for protecting others and abandoning their families. Tenko's suffering was watched by his other relatives, who he begged for help but they could only witness it in horror. While outside, Tenko confided in the family dog of how he hated everyone for leaving him to suffer.

As he was clutching his dog, Tenko's Decay Quirk activated, causing the dog to crumble in his hands. Afterward, Hana came outside to apologize to Tenko for not standing up for him but proceeds to run away in fear after seeing their dog dead next to him. When Tenko tries to reach for her, he ends up disintegrating her by accident.

Tenko's grandparents and mother ran outside to see what was happening and Tenko ended up killing them when his Decay Quirk spread. When Tenko's father came outside and saw the chaos, Tenko ran to him for help but his father would grab some garden tools to protect himself. This time, an enraged Tenko charged at his father with full intent to kill him and touched his face; ultimately the spreading decay ended up destroying the entire house.

After the deaths of his family, an orphaned Tenko was left to fend for himself on the streets. People who passed by never offered to help him, because they assumed that a hero would take care of it, leaving him to be ignored. Tenko began to think this was punishment for his actions, as the memories slowly faded into the recesses of his mind. Eventually, a man named All For One saved him, blaming society for the reason he was not saved sooner.

All For One used this incident as a means of stimulating Tenko's newfound hatred for heroes and began grooming him as his adoptive son. Tenko was given his own room by All For One, and Daruma Ujiko "gifted" the young boy with the disembodied hands of his deceased family members. All For One taught Tenko to embrace the urge he felt whenever he felt it and Tenko did just that by killing two thugs and adding their hands to his look. All For One later renamed him Tomura Shigaraki and raised him as part of the League of Villains, to eventually become his successor of the organization.

Quirks[]

  • Decay: Tomura's Quirk allows him to disintegrate whatever he touches with all five fingers. It will take effect whether the target is organic or not. The disintegration spreads quickly and will spread through the victim's whole body if they don't amputate the decaying body part. His Quirk can even spread beyond what he's touching, allowing him to disintegrate large groups of enemies instantly. Because the Quirk has to touch a solid object in order to be activated, it is possible to counter it through manipulation of fluids or particles, such as Snatch's sand body. During his battle against Re-Destro, Tomura's Quirk underwent what Rikiya describes as reawakening that bolsters the effectiveness and reach of Decay. Allowing him to not only whither away his targets without needing all five fingers, a feat displayed when Tomura used his two remaining digits to partially damage Re-Destro's giant pointer after the latter destroyed three of Tomura's own fingers on his left hand, albeit the effect was much slower and weaker compared to when Tomura uses all five of his digits. But to deteriorate anything his power touches even when it doesn't directly connect with certain abstracts that he's using it on, like when a number of people he never made physical contact with were disintegrated and again when nearly all of Deika City and everything in it was reduced to dust in one go using his one good hand. After his surgery, Tomura's Quirk became significantly more powerful, allowing him to decay almost a third of Jaku City. Additionally, the power of Decay increased enough that even getting hit with a stray piece of decaying rubble would be enough to kill a person. Not only did Tomura manage to increase Decay's power, but he also managed to obtain a much greater degree of control, allowing Tomura to choose specific targets not to hit with his Decay, which he did to spare several of the Nomu.
  • All For One: Tomura's second Quirk is the original version of All For One used by his master. It allows him to steal other people’s Quirks and use them as his own. Just like its counterpart Quirk One For All, this Quirk contains the vestigial will and consciousness of its previous wielder. However unlike One For All, the vestigial will of its previous wielder seeks to usurp Tomura's body using his negative emotions such as anger and hatred as a catalyst. Making the relation more parasitic than symbiotic unlike its counterpart, thus allowing the elder Shigaraki's vestigial consciousness to take over instead.
  • Super Regeneration: Tomura possesses the ability to regenerate from any injuries at high speeds, allowing him to withstand Endeavor's Hellflame.
  • Search: Tomura possesses Ragdoll's former Quirk, allowing him to view up to one hundred individuals at a time. He can see them from a distance and through obscuring barriers. This Quirk also allows him to identify their weak points.
  • Air Cannon: Tomura can fire large blasts of pressurized air from the palms of his hands.
  • Radio Waves: Tomura can disrupt radio waves and cause communicators to malfunction. Also can use this to call his army of Near-High End Nomus or Giantomachia. And also to make them do all types of commands such as exploding if the nomus have a explosive quirk.
  • Rivet Stab: Tomura creates black tendrils that have red prominent cracked lines from his hands and his spine as an offensive technique, stabbing Endeavor and Katsuki with them.
  • Heavy Payload: Tomura can seemingly increase the amount of damage being dealt.
  • Reflect: Tomura can reflect attacks back towards his opponents.
  • Scatter: Tomura can split up projectiles allowing them to scatter all over.
  • Springlike Limbs: Tomura can coil his muscles, allowing him to enhance his physical strength and push himself through the air.
  • Wing: Tomura can grow a pair of bat-like wings from his back.

Near High-End Nomus[]

An incomplete form top-grade Nomus, that are stronger than the Upper-Tier Nomus, possessing phenomenal strength, but can't think for themselves and haven't entered their testing phase. They are said to possess the same level of strength and speed as the High-End Nomu, but they lack their intelligence. Shigaraki can use his Radio Waves to aid him, and also if needed can also make them exploded.

Body Modifications[]

After becoming leader of the Paranormal Liberation Front and earning the respect of Gigantomachia, Kyudai Garaki subjected a willing Tomura to body modification surgery. While the details of this surgery and its effects are unknown, the doctor believes that it will allow Tomura to surpass the powers of One For All. Even before the surgery was finished, a hero as powerful as Mirko was overcome with fear when she sensed him in his surgery capsule to the point that she attempted to smash it, and quickly told the other heroes that Tomura could not be allowed to awaken from the surgery no matter what. Indeed, Tomura's physical abilities have increased so exponentially that, upon his awakening, Endeavor goes as far as to compare him to All Might. The modifications allow him to drastically amplify the power of his already awakened Decay Quirk, giving him the ability to disintegrate masses as large as the entire Jaku Hospital, a portion of the surrounding city and the nearby forest and mountains in one fell swoop. However, because his modification was interrupted before completion, his new body has some drawbacks and will begin to tear if he overexerts himself, as seen when a large tear appeared on Tomura's chest and arm, and even the super regeneration took a moment to kick in.

  • His speed increases even more, managing to catch Gran Torino, one of the fastest heroes in the world, and impale his chest before he could react.
  • Manage to endure Izuku's Wyoming Smash, all while having his Quirks erased. He was also strong enough to endure multiple smash attacks from Deku at 100% in repeated succession.

    • Endeavor even compared his strength to All Might, but at some point it was mention it's was almost, but not quite
  • Strength was enough to easily overpower both Endeavor and Ryukyu while his Quirks were erased, as well as Deku with 45% of One For All.
  • Is so dangerous that Star Stripe who was America's number 1 hero considered Shigaraki a world-wide threat
  • Managed to tank Endeavor's strongest attacks

    • As now New Order literally deleted itself from Shigaraki, so he can no longer use it

Flaws and Weaknesses[]

  • Decay have some weaknesses
    • It can be halted by removing the affected body part
    • If the user has some type of flight power then they can avoid the decay on the ground which is where decay is most effective
    • If all five of Shigaraki's fingers aren't on something then his decay is slower
    • Due to how Decay works it won't decay materials like sand, smoke, or other things along those lines
  • Shigaraki's All for One surgery is incomplete although it's getting close to, but there's a chance where
    • His body may break down, causing him to have cracks on his body and/or bleed out alot
    • His regeneration may slow down, which can make him more vulnerable against strong, and fast characters
  • The quirk All for One has some weaknesses
    • If Shigaraki tries to steal someone's power/powers, and the person has a really strong will then Shigaraki will be unable to steal it. Though to mention Shigaraki's hate and anger will make it steal it easier, and if the user's will is really low. Also with his All for One surgery being incomplete then it would make it harder for now. This is why Shigaraki couldn't steal One for All from Deku because his surgery wasn't complete, and Deku had a strong enough will for Shigaraki unable to steal it.
    • If Shigaraki tries to steal someone's power/powers, and the person has the ability to invade Shigaraki, and All for One's vestiges then that person can actually delete, or remove quirks from Shigaraki. Star and Stripe before she died managed to put a order on her quirk where she deletes quirks from Shigaraki, rendering him more vulnerable, and it worked. Reminder not everyone will be able to do this.
