Thomas "Tom" Cat is a main character from the Hanna-Barbera, and later Warner Bros., Tom and Jerry series of cartoons. He is the sometimes friend and sometimes enemy of Jerry Mouse; sometimes they work together. He will fight Wile E. Coyote in an upcoming episode of DEATH BATTLE!, Wile E. Coyote VS Tom Cat.

History[]
Tom is a housecat living in a house in a quiet suburb. He attempts to keep the house mouse-free, but his attempts to run Jerry Mouse out of the house have always been unsuccessful. There have been earlier incarnations of Tom throughout history, with him having served as a guard for Cardinal Richelieu (see Tom and Jerry: The Two Mouseketeers (1952)).

Appearance[]
Tom appears to be a typical male cat, with green eyes and gray fur with a white mouth, “socks” and tail tip. He does not typically wear clothes, but he has on several occasions, for example when he served as Jerry’s butler in the 1945 movie, Anchors Aweigh.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Superhuman durability - Tom has survived unscathed many things that would have killed a normal cat, including large explosions, being pulled through small holes, etc.

- Tom has been known to use weapons appropriate to his milieu, including swords, pistols and canons.
