- The connections between Tom & Jerry and Sylvester & Tweety are that they are iconic animated duos from the theatrical era of cartoons consisting of a greedy, gluttonous cat (Tom and Sylvester). Their goal is to capture a smaller but smarter enemy (Jerry and Tweety) who always manage to escape from certain death and outsmart them. What adds salt to the wound is that both cats also tend to get injured by the protective bulldog (Spike and Hector).
