The connections between Terry and Mikasa is that they both are from a newer generation of defenders who protect their home (Neo Gotham City and Paradise Island) from threats that oppress the citizens (criminals and super villains and Titans). Both characters started out as normal people, growing up with at least one parent (Terry grew up with his father, while Mikasa lived with her parents) and had a troubled life style (Terry would be involved in criminal activity, while Mikasa and her mother would be prosecuted because they were born in the Eldian race). Both characters would later lose their parental figures thanks to characters who undergo a shady business tactic (Terry’s father gets killed by Derek Powers and Mr.Fixx while Mikasa’s parents gets killed by human traffickers). Both characters would then run into another character who happens to be a protagonist (Bruce Wayne and Eren Yeager), and thanks to this encounter, both characters would then take the role as the new defenders of their home ( Terry becoming the new Batman for Neo Gotham, and Mikasa joining the Survey Corps). After taking this new role, both characters then wore their iconic piece of attire (the Batman Beyond batsuit and the Survey Corps uniform), along with their iconic waist gear that they use to help them in their battles against their enemies (the utility belt and the ODM gear). The attires that both characters wear have the symbol of an animal that flies (The Batman Beyond batsuit has the bat symbol on it, while the Survey Corps uniform has the “Wings of Freedom”, which is the symbol of a pair of bird wings, possibly an eagle as eagles represent freedom). Both characters are also able to travel long distances in all directions with ease thanks to their equipment (The Batman Beyond batsuit has rocket boots for powered flight, while the ODM gear allows omnidirectional movement). Both characters then meet and fight along side another older character who happens to be one of the best heroes/protectors of their home (Batman/Bruce Wayne and Levi Ackerman). Both characters share similarities with these two older characters (Terry and Bruce both are Batmen who became who they are now because of the death of at least one parental figure, and protect other innocent lives with their strong sense of justice, while Mikasa and Levi are both stoic and highly skilled warriors, who are feared and respected by almost everyone mainly thanks to their unparalleled skill) as well as carrying a similar title (Terry and Bruce both share the title of Batman, while Mikasa and Levi share the title of “Humanity’s Strongest Soldier”). Both characters at first, view the two older, more experienced characters as their allies, only to later find out that they are actually related to that older character (Terry learns that Bruce Wayne is actually his true biological father, while Mikasa learns that she and Levi are related). Thanks to this revelation, as well as them being biologically related, both characters soon learn that they are engineered on a genetic level to carry something within their bloodline (Terry learns that he carry the lineage and legacy as the Batman of Neo Gotham City, while Mikasa learns that she carries the Ackerman Bloodline, where she possesses the past experience and skill of previous Ackermans). Both characters also share a close and caring sibling like relationship with a younger character (Matt McGinnis who is Terry’s biological younger brother and Eren Yeager who is Mikasa’s adopted younger brother), despite their hardships and other issues straining their sibling relationship (Terry lived away from his brother, and even after reuniting, Matt would try an evoke a sibling rivalry between them, while Mikasa’s overprotective nature towards Eren is too much for him, until he turns against her and admits how much he hates Mikasa). Coincidently, both characters also faced an enemy who is known for having a wide and unnerving grin (The Joker and the Smiling Titan), and that character is also the enemy of one of their allies (Bruce Wayne Batman and Eren Yeager), as well as doing something horrible to a person that is really close to their ally, right in front of them (The Joker turns Tim Drake into a copy of himself in front of Bruce Wayne Batman, and the Smiling Titan kills and eats Eren’s mother right in front of Eren).
