History[]
Ted was first given to a young John as a Christmas gift and he is named Teddy by the boy. Later that night, John wished that Teddy can talk and that he and him can be best friends forever.
The next morning, John’s wish had came true as Teddy is now walking and talking. John went and told his parents, Steve and Helen, the good news. At first, they didn’t believe him but after Teddy wishes John’s parents a Merry Christmas, they freaked out. Luckily, Teddy apologized to John’s parents for scaring them and after a lot of convincing, both Steve and Helen warmed up to the bear and became a member of the family as their second son.
Word had spread about Teddy coming to life as he became a celebrity and child star. He even got a guest starring role on The Johnny Carson Show.
One rainy night, John promised Teddy that they will be best friends forever, in which the latter agreed.
27 years later, Teddy, now named Ted, is a drunk and drugged up adult who lives in John’s apartment as his roommate.
