Tarn vs Vile is a What-If? Death Battle written by BigShark81913, featuring Tarn from Transformers and Vile from Mega Man.

Description[]

Transformers vs Mega Man! A battle between two insane robot warriors, who won’t stop at anything to get the job done. When they clash, who will emerge victorious? Will Tarn bring Decepticon justice to Vile? Or will Vile remove Tarn’s head and weapon from his shoulders?

Interlude[]

(Cue: Wiz and Boomstick)

Wiz: It was said many times before that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result.

Boomstick: Well, that doesn’t really fit our combatants, but they’re sure as hell insane!

Wiz: Tarn, the poetic leader of the Decepticon Justice Division.

Boomstick: And Vile, the ruthless right-hand man of Sigma. He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick!

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and abilities to see would win...a Death Battle!

Tarn pledges allegiance to DEATH BATTLE![]

Tarn analysis

(Cue: Decepticons Theme)

Wiz: It’s a tale as old as time: you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain. Born on the distant planet of Cybertron, Damus was an extremely gifted individual, who was given a special ability to disrupt technology by merely touching it.

Boomstick: So, Damus and a whole bunch of other special bots were sent to the Jhiaxian Academy of Advanced Technology where the staff used technology mumbo jumbo to peek into his brain and find some way to hide his deformities from the Cybertronian senate. But, as always, the corporate fat cats found out about the strange Cybertronians and did some really questionable shit.

Wiz: Damus was sentenced to empurata, an ancient Cybertronian war tradition where the victim has their hands and heads replaced to mark them as failures to be shunned. After this, he began to call himself Glitch, to signify his abilities.

Boomstick: From that day forward, Glitch was plunged into a series of crazy crimes, helping Orion Pax stick it to the man, or, the senate. Unfortunately for Glitch, however, Orion was a superfan of the villainous Megatron’s work and commonly referenced it around the workplace. You can say that Glitch listened a little too well.

Wiz: Taking Megatron’s words to heart, Glitch joined the Decepticons, and was completely rebuilt to throw his Autobot heritage away. Bearing the crest of the Decepticons as a mask, Glitch forever changed his name into one that would be feared by millions. He was now Tarn, and no Autobot would escape his reach.

Boomstick: And Tarn killed his foes in the most brutal ways possibly, with the coolest weaponry possible! Seriously, what else would you expect from a big robot edgelord?

Wiz: As we mentioned before, Tarn has a malfunction that allows him to shut off electronics. This outlier ability, dubbed “killer voice,” makes it possible for Tarn to mess with anything robotic by merely touching it or even talking towards it, making him a threat to all things electronic, sentient or non-sentient.

Boomstick: And, like every marketable action figure in Transformers, Tarn can… well, transform. He takes the form of a mighty Cybertronian tank, surprisingly fast with a big ol’ gun poking from the top that shoots out deadly sonic blasts.

Wiz: Tarn’s most favored weapon is his Double Barreled Fusion Cannon, mainly inspired by Megatron’s own.

Boomstick: Ha! Dickrider alert!

Wiz: …this mighty metal laser cannon fires extremely powerful blasts, capable of leveling entire towns in a fell swoop and sniping space bound objects from the surface of the Earth!

Boomstick: For close combat, Tarn wields a fearsome chainsaw! …Wiz, is it just a normal, boring chainsaw, or…

Wiz: This chainsaw, even though rarely used, is made up of stronger metals, capable of piercing through solid steel walls and even tearing through the steel flesh of many Cybertronians, even the durable powerhouse Overlord.

Boomstick: Tarn’s ruthlessness was fully fleshed out when he became the commandant of Grindcore Prison, where he jammed to classical music to drown out screams while brutally melting his prisoners in giant pots for his own pleasure. Geez, all this for a toy truck robot brand?

Wiz: To be fair, the Transformers comics have some absolutely gut-wrenching body horror moments.

Boomstick: Eh, my point still stands.

Wiz: Anyways, one of his prisoners was his old comrade Skids, and he managed to escape it and bargain with Tarn to free his imprisoned friends. With a deceptive mind, Tarn told his old friend that he would turn the pot into a “teleportation chamber” to exit Grindcore, and Skids agreed to help his friends. It was too late when he learnt this was all a facade, and the Autobot was forced to watch all of his friends and family be melted into raw material and used for materials to create more powerful Decepticons, and this whole event completely crippled Skids’ religious beliefs.

Popup: That’s just the tip of the iceberg with the Grindcore brutalities.

Boomstick: …oh god, I think I’m gonna puke.

Wiz: Years after this experience, Tarn was selected to become the leader of the newly founded Decepticon Justice Division, or D.J.D. for short. This team consisted of powerful Decepticons such as Helex, Kaon, Tesarus, Vos, and Nickel.

Boomstick: And, ooh boy, did they pull even worse shit than the Grindcore bullcrap. Even though the D.J.D’s main task was to hunt down and kill rogue Decepticons, they would go out of the way to brutally kill any Autobot.

Wiz: And Tarn is easily the most powerful member of this whole group, and he proves it in many ways, mainly through his impressive physical strength. With a few punches, Tarn was capable of shattering Trailbreaker’s forcefield, which was big and strong enough to contain half of the exploding Necroworld! Necroworld is a planet the exact same size as Cybertron, which is about the size of Jupiter. Given my calculations I’ve kept on hand for… analytical purposes, it would take roughly 15 petatons of TNT to destroy a whole half of Jupiter, let alone Cybertron or Necroworld.

Boomstick: Tarn has also proven himself capable of beating the everliving shit out of Megatron himself, who decked the Decepti-God in combat! Y’know, the same Decepti-God with an entire evil universe at it’s disposal!

Wiz: He’s also fast enough to tag Overlord, who has moved at interstellar speeds in mere seconds.

Popup: Overlord has also proven himself strong enough to straight up shake entire worlds and mangle other Cybertronians with his bare hands easily.

Boomstick: Tarn’s cool hand pistol once shaved the word “sunset” onto the surface of the planet, and it was big and deep enough to be seen from the planet’s atmosphere! He also harmed Dinobots like Grimlock, who directly tanked an internal explosion of the continent sized Toraxxis Mega Refinery!

Wiz: Though, as intelligent and fearsome as he seems, Tarn isn’t perfect. For instance, he’s borderline insane, even garnering multiple personalities at points.

Boomstick: He’s also a crackhead when it comes to transforming, even so much that it burns through his T-Cogs almost every day. He also experiences really bad pain from using his technological shut-down junk, just like removing a band-aid.

Wiz: No matter the challenge, Tarn will show absolutely no sense of mercy. Should you ever find yourself in his path, you’d better hope you make it out in at least one piece. For Tarn will bring his sense of justice to all.

Tarn

Tarn: If you want to break someone—mentally, physically, emotionally—wait until they're happy. Let them live and love and thrive. Once they recognize the value of a life well lived... THAT'S when you move in for the kill. Because you can't take anything from someone who has nothing to lose.

Vile rebels against DEATH BATTLE![]

Vile analysis

(Cue: Vs. Vile)

Wiz: Hundreds of years into the future, humanity had greatly evolved along with their technology. Two races lived in perfect harmony, and it was all thanks to one man.

Boomstick: Meet Doctor Cain, the big brain behind the robot craze. He invented a type of android made to completely replicate human behaviors, creatively called reploids. But of course, this is robot media, and the inevitable was gonna happen anyways…

Wiz: The numbers regarding reploid-based crime suddenly skyrocketed, and Cain needed a solution to hunt down these rogues robots, who were called Mavericks. So, he created a group of special reploids specifically for hunting Mavericks, with the most powerful being Sigma.

Boomstick: Until, the infectious shit that was driving the Mavericks nuts got into Sigma’s circuitry and changed his ideals to make him look down upon all human life.

Popup: The Maverick Virus that caused this all was created by Dr. Wily, essentially as a final middle finger.

Wiz: Turns out, the Maverick Virus practically fused with Sigma, giving him control to almost every Maverick and forcing them to join his cause. One Maverick, however, was not part of his wide spread grasp, but still joined his cause for his own benefit. This villainous bounty hunter was named Vile.

Boomstick: Turns out, Vile used to be a Maverick Hunter, who had his circuits fried in a freak accident and turned into a complete nutjob! He killed a bunch of people, was sent straight to prison, and flash forward, he’s Sigma’s lapdog with some really tricked out robo-weapons.

Wiz: Vile’s main weapon is the mighty laser cannon mounted on his shoulder, which fires spherical blasts of energy, laser beams, boomerangs made of pure energy, grenades, rockets, and virtually anything explosive.

Boomstick: He also has fingertips with my favorite magic: guns! He calls these finger guns Vulcans, and they can do lotsa junk like fire bullets and little energy balls. What’s with this guy and balls? …oh wait, that didn’t come out right.

Wiz: He can also replace his arms with missile launchers during combat, and these launchers fire missiles that can split into 3, glide, act as floor traps, and of course, explode.

Boomstick: Vile also specializes in the badass rocket punches, which are exactly what they sound like. He can shoot his hands straight from his arms, and punch people from a decent distance.

Wiz: Vile’s legs also pack a strange punch. Inside his robot legs is a seemingly infinite supply of napalm, and he can make virtually anything explode by kneeing it or firing from afar.

Boomstick: He can also shoot… balls from his legs. Jeez.

Wiz: Vile’s balls can crawl upside walls, bounce all over the place, and even split into two for a tag team.

Boomstick: …oh my God.

Wiz: …He can also turn his leg into what is essentially a flamethrower, blasting a field of fire and also allowing him to rocket jump to some degree.

Boomstick: Vile can also use something called the Frozen Castle, which creates a thick shield of ice around him to protect him. Plus, he got this from beating the shit out of a robot penguin.

Wiz: Despite being a pawn in Sigma’s game, Vile had more than enough free will, to the point where he actually felt he needed to prove he was better than Sigma in every aspect.

Boomstick: So, what does he do? Vile goes out on a path of bloodshed, tearing Sigma’s followers into pieces and stealing their abilities. This pissed Sigma off, so he personally invited Vile to come to his fortress so they could fight, man to man.

Wiz: Until, he was cornered by the heroes, X and Zero, who had defeated him many times before. However, this time, Vile won after a long battle.

Boomstick: Once he was done kicking their asses, X called Vile out for being a wimp. So, the bounty hunter straight up stomped on his face and punted him! …until, Zero got back up and shot him with his cannon.

Wiz: Vile awoke right where he had fallen, accompanied by Sigma, who was genuinely concerned. He asked him why he did all of this, and if would stand before him as a Maverick or kneel.

Boomstick: And he answers by laughing like that Joker bastard before being ditched by Sigma! He was left there to die, and he had shut off for the final time.

Wiz: Until he was revived by a man named Doctor Doppler, who gave him new, powerful tools called Ride Armors.

Boomstick: Ride Armors are big, chunky Reploid tools originally built for construction, but repurposed as weapons of death during the rebellion. They can shoot gatling guns, use jackhammer punches, fire lasers from the arms, and even wield a massive laser gun!

Wiz: In base, Vile is capable of fighting against Mega Man X, who could straight-up generate black holes big enough to bust entire planets upon impact, and fight against Lumine, who easily destroyed an entire star. Given that said star was around as big as the sun, Lumine would need to output about 1.052e47 joules of sheer force to destroy it.

Boomstick: Vile is also quick enough to dodge slashes from Zero’s Z-Sabre, which moves at the speed of light. And, he can also keep up with X, who can outrun black holes in a matter of seconds. The same Reploids could also dodge beams from satellites as fast as light, and even fight against Gravity Beetle who’s Gravity Well is strong enough to create entire black holes from thin air!

Wiz: Vile himself is also superior to the Classic Era Teleporters, which could teleport people to distant planets in mere seconds! Despite his strengths, Vile does have his fair share of weaknesses.

Boomstick: Vile is… obviously, mentally unstable, to the point where he puts being better above literally anything else he does. Plus, in order to use his rocket launchers, he has to rip off an arm and hook it up, costing him an arm and a leg!

Wiz: His main fault is his arrogance. His ego is massive, and doesn’t think it’s possible for him to lose a single battle.

Boomstick: Despite his servitude, Vile is his own head honcho, and is one of the most cunning and ruthless beings in the universe. No target will escape his sight!

Vile dive

Vile: There's nothing you can do! I'll defeat you and Sigma! Then I'll change the world!

Intermission[]

Tarn vs Vile intermission

Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set! We've run the data through all possibilities.

Boomstick: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!!

Death Battle[]

(Cue: Suicide in an Airplane)

Terror. Sheer terror.

Terror was the one thing present in the rogue Decepticon’s mind. Terror in the form of one of his kin, filled with bloodlust towards him. A classical Cybertronian composition blared from the frenzied creature

The horrified robot ran. As fast as he could. Unbeknownst to him, perched on top of a nearby skyscraper was another hunter, with a different purpose.

The traitor charged up the stairwell and bolted up each step, as the large, purple figure charged behind him with a blaster attached to his hand. He fired multiple sonic blasts towards his prey, but he managed to avoid them all and reach the top of the stairs.

Almost ripping the door off its hinges, the rogue panted and caught himself. When he looked back up, the other bounty hunter aimed his shoulder gun towards and the shadows dispersed, revealing Vile, Sigma’s right hand man. “Bingo.”

A blast erupted from the cannon and tore straight through the Decepticon’s head, leaving a trail of smoke on the headless body. Vile held the body up, and began to walk away. “The reward is still worth jack for the dead.”

A chainsaw suddenly tore through the dead Cybertronian, and the corpse was pulled upwards by the mysterious figure from before. His eyes flickered red under his mask, and Tarn emerged from the shadows of the dark Cybertronian night.

“This backstabbing ignoramus will be dilapidated by my hand alone to pay for his crimes against Lord Megatron.”

Vile cocked his arm cannon again, and aimed it towards the Decepticon. “The bounty’s mine, scumbag.” Tarn laughed, and he threw the body off the building and aimed his fusion cannon towards his shorter foe. “Fall.”

FIGHT![]

(Cue: Entropy Now Descends)

Vile blasted first, and it struck Tarn in the chest. The Maverick fired an array of energy orbs towards Tarn, who shot them all down with his own blaster and fired a shot towards Vile. The smaller hunter quickly dodged it, and his fist fired from his hand, slamming the Decepticon in the chest. “What’s wrong? You’re too big for this?” Vile laughed.

Tarn grabbed the fist and crushed it with one hand. “Insolent simpleton.” he mumbled, before sending another line of blasts in Vile’s direction. The Maverick’s fingers morphed, and he diffused all the blasts with lasers. “You’re easy to predict!” Vile remarked, before Tarn bounded into the air.

The Decepticon began to shift into a tank, and he landed on top of the building again, shaking the roof. The heavy machine began to spin around, firing beams of energy. It struck Vile’s cannon, and it began to crackle. Tarn morphed back, and he swung his leg towards his significantly smaller foe, who held the ram in place with his arms. “Nice try!” Vile said, before he leaped into the air and fired energy balls from his knee.

The Decepticon shielded the blasts with his metal chest and swatted Vile away midair, but he managed to catch himself and aim his cannon upwards. Tarn pointed his arm towards Vile and began to speak. “You will succumb under the mighty grasp of the Decepticons. It’d be favorable if you allowed yourself into my hands for dismemberment.”

“No thanks.” Vile snickered, before a field of grenades erupted from his shoulder. They landed on Tarn’s feet, and they all exploded at once.

Tarn walked out of the formed fire, without a scratch. He aimed his cannon towards Vile and fired, knocking him off course. The Maverick groaned as Tarn pulled out his chainsaw. “You’ll prove yourself useful for scrap then.” The chainsaw swung downwards, but a blue shield of ice formed around the hunter and blocked the saw. “You know how I got this, junkyard boy?” Vile questioned.

Tarn, swung his chainsaw downwards again, but Vile rolled out of its way and aimed the gun towards his large foe. “I hunted!”

A rocket emerged from the metal tube and sped towards Tarn, who managed to catch it with his open hand and toss it into the distance. “Fool.” Tarn replied, firing a powerful blast from his cannon that shattered the shield of ice. The Decepticon reached down and grabbed a shard of ice, and then swung it towards Vile with quick slashes like a knife. It cut through his steel chest, and Vile staggered backwards. Vile, however, snickered. “Gotcha.”

Tarn looked back down, and fire erupted from Vile's leg, covering him in flames once again. He swung his arm into the fire and lit his fusion cannon aflame, before he began to shoot blasts of energy covered with the fire. They all struck Vile, but he managed to plow through and aim his cannon upwards again. An energy boomerang flew out, and it merely scratched the Decepticon's face. When it flew backwards, Vile laughed because his foe wouldn't expect it. Well, that's what he thought.

The Decepticon grabbed the boomerang midair and began to charge it with more energy. "Your arsenal is nothing but modified playthings." Tarn said as he tossed the boomerang downwards and created a small shockwave. "Slow down! I don't want you to break your toys, scumbag!" Vile replied.

Angered, Tarn pulled his chainsaw out again and swung it around in a flurry, slicing bits of metal off his foe. The Maverick grabbed the chainsaw, and his fingers transformed again, firing out a surge of bullets that jammed the chainsaw's movements. Taking advantage of this, Vile fired a swarm of napalm towards Tarn, creating a larger mass of fire that engulfed a majority of the building. He then ran towards Tarn with another explosive in hand, and he slammed it onto his back and slid under his legs.

The bomb exploded, but Tarn was unfased.

The explosion merely bounced off of Tarn's back, and he aimed his cannon to the skies. A flood of energy blasts erupted, and they all fell from the air like raindrops. Vile charged his cannon, and began to dodge them and shoot them down, until he raised his own weapon to the vast space above and caught a final blast. "I stayed here to hear you scream, not throw a tantrum!" Vile mocked.

"Foolish malfunctioning piece of shrapnel! I'll rip you LIMB FROM LIMB." Tarn yelled, before Vile sent the absorbed blast towards him. In a half of a second, Tarn sliced the blast in half with the chainsaw, and he quickly transformed back into the tank. Purple energy seemed to attract to the cannon of the war machine, and the metallic tiles of the roof began to break off. A beam blasted from the tube, and Vile attempted to counter it with a smaller blast from his own cannon.

The larger blast succeeded, and the Maverick was thrown off the roof and began to plummet down. He managed to grab on the side and kicked his foot against the steel, forming a fire that blasted him back onto the roof. He pointed his cannon again, and fired at Tarn, who aimed the barrel of his transformed body towards the attack and shot it down. Vile fell through the smoke, and he shot another rocket punch towards the tank, denting the sides and morphing the Decepticon back into his robotic state.

The bigger bot still managed to grab his foe from midair and slam him into the ground, before kicking him away and firing another set of blasts towards his downed opponent. Vile rolled out of the way and pointed his knee towards Tarn, shooting out another mass of napalm that instantly added to to growing flames. “The damage… the feeding flames… I LOVE IT!” Vile began to yell maniacally, before another purple blast nearly hit his helmet and flew into the far distance.

He searched the area, but was caught off guard when the chainsaw swung downwards and struck him in the back. “Now perish.” Tarn said, before firing a trail of blasts that quickly pushed towards Vile. The Maverick jerked his knee upwards, and an energy ball popped out and skittered on the ground. It began to crawl up Tarn’s body and strike his cannon, electrocuting him. Vile hopped back on his feet and began to fire a series of bullets from the Vulcans. They all bounced off of Tarn, and he ripped the energy sphere off his chest before slamming it into his blaster and firing it back towards Vile. The Maverick was struck by the modified blast, and he was thrown backwards.

Tarn slowly walked towards Vile, dragging his buzzing saw against the  hard, metal roof. Sparks were mixed with the raindrops that filled the area. “You played a good game. But now, your reckoning awaits. How I’ll love seeing the lights leave your eyes as I rip you piece from piece.” The Decepticon swung his massive chainsaw down, and it struck Vile in the chest.

“…try a little HARDER next time!” Vile laughed, before an energy ball formed on his knee and he swung it upwards to toss the moving blade out of Tarn’s hand. He then twisted his arms around before his hands shot from the sockets again, pummeling Tarn in the chest and flinging his pink blood into the downpour. The Decepticon let out a deep, anguished breath before he began to transform, electricity rising from his back as his T-Cogs held on.

The tank fell to the floor and met Vile to the face, before an earth-shaking purple blast bolted out from the shaft and formed a crater on the side of the damaged rooftop. The smoke cleared, and Vile stood there, with the Frozen Castle activated. Tarn, becoming angrier, charged towards Vile in tank form, his sheer weight deactivating the shield and pushing them both off the side of the building.

Midair, Tarn shifted back into normal form, before pinning Vile against the side of the building with his hand and shoving the chainsaw into the walls to keep himself in place. A lightning bolt flickered in the background, and their shadows could be seen on the streets of Cybertron.

The Decepticon’s Fusion Cannon began to shake, and it fired blasts that broke through the wall and tossed both fighters inside the seemingly empty building. Darkness filled the room, but the vicious red eyes behind Tarn’s mask illuminated the room in scarlet. A metallic bang echoed in the room, and Vile dropped his spare arm to the floor, now replaced by a massive rocket launcher. “You’re gonna LOVE this one!” An army of missiles emerged from the weapon, and Tarn released a chunk of rubble from his chainsaw.

The Decepticon began to slice through the rockets as they approached him, spreading hellish flames throughout the pitch black room. He swung his saw down, and tore the rocket launcher from Vile’s now open socket. Vile instantly grabbed his arm and ran out the back door, with Tarn following by smashing directly through the wall.

Vile could feel the cold, villainous aura surrounding Tarn crawl up his shoulders as he ran up the staircase. He reattached his arm, and spun his cannon around, firing more energy spheres behind to hit the Decepticon. Tarn charged through and fired at the steps in front of Vile, destroying the metal upholstery and creating a gap between. The Maverick fell into the void below, and Tarn followed suit.

However, Vile rigged another set of napalm to explode, and once Tarn neared the bottom, the Maverick had blasted himself upwards throughout the staircase and broke straight through the roof. Furious, Tarn transformed back into his tank form and aimed the cannon to the ground, before firing to propel himself upwards. He quickly morphed back, and grabbed the ledge of the hole and pulled himself back up. “You just keep coming back, eh? Let’s end that! Mwahaha!” Vile screamed into the air, before running towards Tarn and pulling two boomerangs out from his cannon. The Decepticon swung his chainsaw downwards, and Vile held his boomerangs to shield himself from the attack.

The Maverick’s knee began to summon another energy ball, and right when the boomerangs gave out and snapped in two, he leaped upwards and shot it into the sky before blasting a whirling inferno from his foot and kicking the sphere at a lightning fast speed. The sheer strength of the hit echoed in the air, and the orb rocketed towards Tarn and sent him sliding backwards. His crimson blood spilled on the floor, but he got back up and began to laugh under his mask.

“You will die a fool’s death.” Tarn muttered, before picking his chainsaw back up and slashing a massive chunk of iron from the rooftop and hurtling it towards Vile like a javelin. The Maverick shot fire from his foot again to propel himself upwards, and activated the Frozen Castle to tear straight through the piece of shrapnel, before he grabbed it and hurtled it back to Tarn!

The speed of the object began to pick up, but Tarn merely laughed and transformed back into the tank. Another purple blasts erupted from the shaft, and in a few seconds, tore straight through the iron. It struck Vile in the chest, and the Maverick gasped as the impact completely shattered his icy shield. As he plummeted back to the rooftop, Tarn turned his chainsaw on again and began to rapidly charge towards him.  Vile caught himself, and he fired a field of grenades from his cannon that descended towards Tarn. This was no concern to the bulky Decepticon, and he instantly sliced through them and swung towards Vile.

The Maverick’s spare arm fell clean off, and he tumbled to the floor. Tarn swung his chainsaw down, but Vile fired it out of his hands with his cannon and began to run towards his downed arm on the other side of the building.

The Decepticon charged after him, firing multiple shots at his smaller foe. The Maverick was too quick, however, and he grabbed his arm in time and snapped it back into place. “Tough luck!” Vile mocked, before spinning around and firing a rocket from his cannon. Tarn was struck in the chest, but seconds before it could blow up, he ripped it straight out and threw it into the skies. It exploded, and fire began to rain down on the demolished building.

“Admire the skies, fool. For this will be the last time you witness the chaos you sought to bring.” Tarn pointed his cannon towards Vile again.

“I think you TALK too much!”

Vile laughed, and his fingers swapped out with Vulcans again. He began to let his guns rip, unleashing a plethora of bullets that ricocheted everywhere off the building’s metal pieces. Tarn didn’t let this bother him, and he began to shoot his blasts across the area. One of them hit Vile across the chest, but he spun his cannon around and began to fire boomerangs across the area. Tarn caught them all using his metal arm, and he began to pull them out and hurl them towards the Maverick like darts.

In a split second, Vile hopped over the reflected attacks, and propelled himself into the air with flames before sending another array of rocket punches towards Tarn. One hit the Decepticon in the chest, but the other hit him in the face and cracked his mask. “Fool!” Tarn’s voice echoed into the air, and he rushed towards Vile with his chainsaw again.

The Maverick shot more bullets from his fingers, but they ricocheted off the saw. Right before he could be decapitated by the chainsaw, he hopped out of the way. He then launched himself upwards by shooting fire from his foot and he fell onto Tarn’s back, putting him in a headlock. The Decepticon merely grabbed Vile off his back and slammed him into the ground, before putting him under his foot and stepping downwards. Vile aimed his cannon upwards and fired, shooting Tarn in the face and shoving him backwards. “Guess your stupid mask is toast now, huh?”

Cybertronian blood dripped from Tarn’s face. Only a shard of his mask still remained. He began to laugh maniacally.

Suddenly, he transformed back into the tank and swung the cannon around, clocking Vile in the whole body and spinning him around. Once he regained himself, Vile saw the cannon pointed straight at his legs. It fired, and blew one of them clean off into the skies! Frantic, Vile began to crawl away for dear life as Tarn slowly approached with his chainsaw. He grabbed Vile by the neck, and ripped the mask shard off his face. “I’ll finish you off… with a whisper.”

Tarn’s eyes flickered as Vile began to rapidly shake. However, he only dropped a despicable chuckle. “Keep your eyes peeled, chunky!” The Maverick began to laugh.

Something fell from the skies.

Vile’s Ride Armor rocketed downwards from the heavens like a meteor. In mere seconds, the suit slammed into Tarn, and sent him blasting downwards through the floors of the building. The wounded Maverick crawled into the top of the Reploid creation and grabbed the controls.

Tarn lied on the floor, with a chunk of metal impaling him in the chest. He looked upwards, and saw the Ride Armor descending. It landed in front of him, and Vile snickered as the massive robot began to jackhammer punch his wounded foe at blinding speeds. Blood rose into the air, and Tarn weakly grabbed one of the punches before it could land. He then grabbed his chainsaw from the ground and sliced the chunk of metal out from his chest, before standing up and dropping his weapon. “You might be my equal in size now, but you’re outclassed in combat.”

The Decepticon ran towards the Maverick, thrusting his knee into the large robot’s chest and swinging his leg to push it backwards. Vile grabbed the controls again, and he fired a laser towards Tarn. He managed to block it with his arm cannon shooting a counter blast, and he threw a punch towards Vile that was caught instantly by the Ride Armor. The two bulky metal fighters began to push towards each other, and Tarn was eventually overpowered and smashed through the wall. He fell to the long unoccupied Cybertronian streets below, and Vile followed suit.

“Just give up, you chunky waste of metal!” Vile laughed, as his Ride Armor jumped downwards with a punch at the ready. However, Tarn transformed and shot his tank cannon at the ground, sending him flying and colliding into the Ride Armor. The two fighters blasted into the skies, and smashed straight through the steel walls of the unfortunate building and landed back on top of the roof. Tarn switched back to his normal state, but was caught off guard when a laser struck him in the back.

The Ride Armor jumped into the air and readied a fist, crashing down onto the stunned Decepticon and sending another blinding flurry of punches to his chest. Tarn fired another blast at the core of the Armor, pushing Vile back and giving him room to stand back up. He activated his chainsaw again, and he slashed it towards the Maverick. The massive mounted armor grabbed the saw as it was swinging, and pulled it straight out of Tarn’s hands. He then shoved it straight up Tarn’s chest and pulled it out, dripping with blood. “Mwahahaha!” Vile’s maniacal laughter filled the skies. Tarn wasn’t finished, however.

“Your cheap tricks and disgusting tools stand no chance against Decepticon might.” The Decepticon rose, clutching his chest as his blood pooled on the ground. “I assure you, your body will never be found.”

Tarn began to weakly transform back into his tank, and he charged straight into the Ride Armor. The two massive metal fighters began to fall to the streets below, with the tank’s cannon pointing towards the armor’s chest. Smoke erupted from the Decepticon as his T-Cogs began to slowly burn out, and in a smart attempt, he shoved Vile off of his grasp and tossed him straight through the building. The Maverick’s armor caught itself, and with the pull of a lever, a massive laser gun appeared in its hands and began to charge. Purple aura began to radiate the scene, and with a blast, the beams erupted and tore straight through the building!

Vile’s Ride Armor began to catch aflame, and right before it exploded, he used his foot flamethrower to launch himself towards Tarn. The Decepticon began to charge his cannon again, but right before he fired, Vile activated Frozen Castle and rammed straight into him! The blast struck Tarn, and he exploded almost instantly.

Vile landed on a chunk of the building still falling from the skies. His cannon was torn clean off, but he was well alive. “Finally, you’re gone. Burn in hell!” He got on the knee of his remaining leg, and shut his eyes for a second.

“Don’t think you’re safe from me just yet.”

Vile turned around, and saw Tarn standing above him with his chainsaw. In a last ditch attempt, he slammed his good arm to activate Frozen Castle, but unfortunately for him, it was destroyed in the blast.

Tarn shoved his chainsaw straight through Vile’s chest and lifted him upwards. The Maverick’s red eyes looked in horror as he saw Tarn’s bleeding, maskless face howl with laughter. “You are like a flea. With one touch, you are gone. Reduced to scrap!”

The Decepticon placed his large hand on Vile’s tattered head and squeezed it. Purple energy coursed through his veins as it all flooded into Vile’s system. The Maverick’s screams of agony propelled into the air, and in an instant, his program was extinguished. Tarn began to pull at his head until it popped off, with electricity following suit. He then smashed through the falling rubble and tossed the head to the ground, before stomping on it with one foot and crushing it completely. The shadows covered the area, leaving only Tarn’s glowing eyes in utter blackness. But one thing was easy to see.

This was just a display of what Tarn had to come.

Conclusion[]

Boomstick: …oh my god. He might not have blood, but that might’ve been one of the most brutal things I’ve ever seen.

Wiz: Let’s break this down. For starters, both bots did have a fair amount of advantages. For example, Vile’s arsenal was definitely more useful than almost anything Tarn really had on hand.

Boomstick: Bombs, lasers, bullets, and pure energy. You name it, he’ll have it. That’s definitely more than Tarn’s chainsaw and flashy hand gun.

Wiz: Vile’s Ride Armor was also more than enough to match Tarn’s sheer size, whether he becomes a tank or a robot. …though, that’s kind of where Vile’s advantages end.

Boomstick: Ooh boy, brace yourselves! Let’s start off with big punchy junk: strength!

Wiz: While Vile could fight against X who could bust planets, Tarn himself is a planet buster. Remember when he was straight up capable of destroying a forcefield spanning a whole half of a planet with nothing but his bare hands?

Popup: While Vile’s strength seems much greater in retrospect, he was only capable of doing so with his weapons while Tarn went ham on the shield with his fists.

Boomstick: Plus, despite his bigger and chunkier build, Tarn was also surprisingly faster. Vile has fought against folks who have raced black holes, but Tarn could easily tag Overlord, who has moved into distant areas of outer space in a few seconds flat!

Wiz: Although Tarn acts a bit more unhinged, he is nothing short of an analytical genius, while Vile usually has his arrogance and boasting get ahead of him. While Vile was more mentally put together overall, he was definitely not smarter.

Boomstick: And, through a long chain, Vile scales to Gravity Beetle, who could create black holes from thin air. That’s still nothing compared to Tarn being able to harm and almost kill Megatron, who fought a god that upheld an entire universe as a part of it’s arsenal!

Wiz: Another major weakness for Vile is the fact that he is nothing more than a machine. This means that Tarn’s ability born through deformities, the Killer Voice, could just as easily shut Vile off from a distance if he got on his nerves.

Popup: As a side note, Tarn could also shut Vile’s systems off by touching him with the activated ability.

Boomstick: Tarn’s Fusion Cannon also had much more range than anything Vile had on hand. Vile had pretty fast lasers, sure, but that didn’t really matter when Tarn had a weapon that could hit objects from the surface of a planet in seconds, level entire communities in one fell swoop, and shave letters visible from space into the crust of a world!

Wiz: You also have to factor Tarn’s impressive durability. He could survive refinery explosions, spaceship explosions, excetera.

Boomstick: Bombs are nothing to this purple bot!

Wiz: In the end, while Vile certainly had a bigger arsenal and was more mentally put together, Tarn’s strength, speed, and killer voice allowed him to take this bounty hunter off his long hit list.

Boomstick: It took a vile, but Damus managed to tarn-ish his foe’s chances of winning. It wasn’t Maver-rigged, however.

Wiz: The winner is Tarn.

Tarn wins

Next Time[]

The green grass of a fantasy world blew in the wind. Rainclouds crowded the skies, and droplets of water littered the air.

An elderly man with a staff and strange attire swung his staff upwards, leading to a bolt of energy falling from above and striking him. His eyes flickered.

Another figure, in more noble attire, raised his hands to the skies, dropping an array of lightning from the skies. His eyes flickered.

The two aimed their weapons towards each other, and fired at the same time. A massive flash of light engulfs the screen.

“It is not despair, for despair is only for those who see the end beyond all doubt. We do not.”

“This is not your destiny, Liu Kang.”

The finale. Season 1, Episode Ten.

Gandalf vs Raiden

Trivia[]

  • The connections between Tarn and Vile are that they’re both purple clad, helmeted/masked robots designed for war, armed with weaponry, including a mounted arm cannon, that are a part of formally terrorist turned full genocidal revolutionary factions in a war against peacekeeping enemy factions (Autobots/Maverick Hunters) and both have similar cruel, brutal natures, taking immense pleasure in just tearing others apart. They themselves were formally a part of the peacekeeping faction with a personal connection towards the most major member of that force (Optimus Prime/MegaMan X) but would be brought on to the antagonists side due to them wanting to hurt the main hero (Tarn formerly being the Autobot Glitch who was a close friend of Optimus Prime but would then be manipulated onto the side of the Decepticons by Megatron as he wanted to both hurt Optimus and show him how anyone could be corrupted/Vile formerly being and out of control Maverick Hunter, with an antagonistic relationship towards X that would be put in solitary confinement by Sigma, as he’s the only reploid that could turn Maverick of their own volition and he needed him to push X). Both also have particular fixations on their own forms of transport (Tarn being fixated on the act of transforming itself, burning through his T-cogs in under a day/Vile having a particular enthusiasm for using ride armours in combat).
