Youjo Senki vs The Eminence in Shadow! Isekai is one of the most popular types of Japanese media out there. The idea of getting reincarnated is the dream of...well, pretty much almost everybody with a miserable enough life, who wishes for a fresh, clean slate to start over and do better. But getting sent to another world? With MAGIC?! Now that's a setup for an epic, wondrous adventure full of danger, romance, and legend....or a sad, miserable, dull life as an everyday average mob in the background, forced to watch the real heroes do everything you dreamed of yet can never do. But, what if the hero being reincarnated WANTS to be in the background? What if the very world they now live in forcefully puts them in the spotlight, when all they wish for is to be unseen and unnoticed? It's time to see who the TRUE background character is in this bout! Will the leader of the 203rd Imperial Mage Battalion score another victory for her cpuntry? Or will she be taken down alongside her men, by an unseen eminence pulling the strings in the shadows?

Wiz: Cid Kagneou, everyday background character by day, the Eminence in Shadow by night.
Boomstick: And Tanya von Degurechaff, the pint-sized reincarnated war criminal from Saga of Tanya the Evil.
Wiz: In the many, MANY unique worlds of Isekai, the story usually goes like this. A person from modern day is reborn in another world of magic and fantasy, gains supernatural powers and climbs the food chain as they fight to dethrone or stop a vile demonic threat from harming the foolish masses.
Boomstick: But sometimes, the main hero DOESN'T wanna do any of that, and just wants to cozy up as a lame old background nobody, drinkin' beer and living the good life, like me! He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win, a DEATH BATTLE.
Tanya begrudgingly prays for victory in DEATH BATTLE![]
Wiz: The life of a Japanese worker is a hellish one. Harsh deadlines, even HARSHER working conditions, and overtime is not a choice, but is expected. It's honestly no wonder so many suicides in Japan happen from overworked people already on the verge of death.
Boomstick: A lesson this poor sap found out the harsh way when his boss fired him first day on the job. Really should have bought yourself a plane ticket and moved somewhere else there, buddy.
Wiz: So, understandably more than a bit furious, the employee didn't exactly take well to being so harshly sent away, and decided to do what any other reasonable person would...
Boomstick: Pushing his boss in the way of a bullet train! I always try that on Wiz, but he always teleports whenever I even try.
Wiz: AHEM, anyway, the circumstances of the employee after that are unknown. But, for the boss, things went differently. Having lived his entire life without faith, God himself deemed it fit to give the man a second chance at life, in the hopes that he'd learn to have faith in him and become a believer in God's word. One reincarnation later, and the man was reborn.
Boomstick: Now in the body of a cute little orphan girl, bearing a new face and a new name. TANYA VON DEGURECHAFF!
