Description[]

SuperHOT vs. My Friend Pedro. Bullets, madness and the power to slow time make for a highly octane fight to the death.

Introduction[]

Wiz: Avar1ce, the SuperHOT player with a desire for more and more.

Boomstick: Pedro, the vigilante guided by the banana bearing his own name. There is rarely a better showing of someone's sheer skill and deadliness than when they participate in the ancient art of running and gunning. In fact, when you're so good at it, it can feel like you have all the time in the world to just run and gun.

Wiz: And these two have their own means of realizing just that.

Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armour and skill to find out who would win a Death Battle!

Avar1ce[]

Wiz: Out in the internet, there is a phrase in circulation, almost like a chain letter, shared on social media.

Boomstick: Tailored towards gamers, especially those of VR, the phrase is "Superhot is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!". And in some ways, that's all too true, because it taps into the market of Virtual Reality gameplay for some all too addictive gameplay. So addictive, you'd swear this game was practically pushing drugs onto you.

Wiz: Which, is a roundabout kind of way, it was. SuperHOT wasn't just a shared software, but in fact an AI, luring people into playing the game built around itself by playing to their weaknesses. In one example, it even has to do with the issue of addiction, as one player ended up so addicted to the game, they willingly became part of the AI, the System, itself, just as so many had likely done beforehand.

Boomstick: Pretty sure AI are meant to avoid the risk of human error, which the System would probably get if they kept absorbing them, but nevertheless, their presence circulated the digital market in search of further victims for God knows how long.

Wiz: And one unwitting individual to fall into their trap went by the username of Avar1ce, who similar to the Addict, had a compulsive desire to just keep going.

  • Background
    • Protagonist of Mind Control Delete
    • Height: 3 feet, on account of counters
    • Has a desire for more and more
    • Good at playing games within games
    • Only MIND to be grey coloured (so excuse the thumbnail)

Boomstick: Now, why does that sound so familiar?

Wiz: Well, I just said there was the Addict beforehand - oh, you mean the fact that there are thousands of people out there with compulsive drives to play a video game whenever possible. And for Avar1ce, it was clear the System tailored the experience to his mindset, with the very first command impute being to press on the word "More."

Boomstick: Thus started Avar1ce's adventure with the world of Super. Hot. Super. Hot. Super. Hot. Super-

Wiz: Enough. Like those before him, Avar1ce was tasked with fighting him way through a seemingly endless army of strange red crystalline humanoids called...Red Dudes. And to be frank, considering how they smash apart with sometimes the smallest amount of effort, it's no wonder Avar1ce was soon hooked.

Boomstick: Especially since he could take all the time in the world kicking or punching them due to SuperHOT's key feature. That time only moves when you do, the world around you moving to the beat of your dance.

Wiz: In essence, this serves as an enhanced perception of the world around Avar1ce, whereby playing his cards and movements right, can bob in and out of danger, plan his next move and act accordingly.

Boomstick: Whilst it isn't completely capable of stopping time, since his beating heart generates a miniature amount of movement and thus letting time flow, it's still very handy for when he's taking on whole rooms of Red Dudes with just seconds to take in his surroundings.

Wiz: Whilst the Time Slow is Avar1ce's most omnipresent ability, he also has several additional powers with the use of his Cores, which are taken from the abilities of others to have fallen prey to the System. For example, his MORE Core enables him to bolster his health from three to five hearts, which he got from the Client. From the Addict herself, he gained the deadly ability to swap his consciousness with one of the Red Guy's, leaving his old body to shatter. With upgrades, he can even keep the weapon they were using or make multiple swaps within a certain time limit of one.

Boomstick: Recall from the Nindaz gives Avar1ce a katana whenever he starts a mission on top of being able to recall to when he throws it, with upgrades letting it travel through numerous enemies or bounce between foes as it returns. And my favourite, the CHARGE Core, taken from the Hound, lets him barrel his way through Red Guys, and later reduce the cooldown or bounce between targets.

Wiz: Avar1ce can also use, in comparison, slighter boons called Hacks, which are also the means to upgrade his Cores. There's one that lets him unleash shuriken when harmed, increase his weapon ammo, start with a random weapon, increase his speed, heal himself, increase his throwing power, turn thrown items into bullet-grenades, and increase the power of his legs to smash concrete.

Popup: One of the Hacks is called lightspeed, although this is likely just a title and not indicative of real speed, since the fastest projectile he is now able to dodge Fishguns, which apparently fire nails.

Boomsticks: Hacks, Cores and Time Slow are all good and everything but Avar1ce also needs himself some conventual weaponry, and sometimes not even that, since he can toss and weaponize anything he had grab, like a digitalized John Wick. Pipes, bottles, wood planks and even ash trays become deadly once thrown from his hand.

  • Arsenal
    • Throwable items
    • Beretta M9 Handgun
    • M16 Machine Gun

    • Fishgun
    • Shuriken
    • Katana
    • Darts
    • Pipe
    • Crowbar
    • Knife
    • Baseball Bat

Wiz: He can throw Shuriken, Darts, and Knives, and even his Katana as alluded to before. That is, when he's not chopping his foes up when close to them or smashing their skulls with a crowbar or baseball bat.

Boomstick: For more conventional long-ranged fighting, he can get a Beretta M9 Handgun, an M16 Machine Gun, or a double-barrelled shotgun. Oh, and a fish gun, which is basically another term of a harpoon gun. Although he only starts with them if he has the right Hack equipped, he can always pick at least one of these up through exploring the area and battling the Red Guys. For the latter, it's an especially good way to go since thanks to physics, their gear will always fly straight to you for a mid-air grab.

Wiz: Boomstick, is there any particular reason why you've barely moved? Like, at all.

Boomstick: Duh, I'm trying to use the same time slow Avar1ce uses.

Wiz: You know that only works in SuperHOT.

Boomstick: Well, I've been meaning to get it myself.

Wiz: Oh, you totally should. It's the most innovative shooter I've played in years!

Boomstick: Wait a minute...you're a VR fan as well! You should have said. We should have a Beat Saber night sometime.

  • Feats
    • Shattered reinforced glass with his bare fist
    • Deflects and dodges bullets constantly
    • Survive three shotgun blasts to the head/chest
    • Capable of shattering concrete-like substances with certain powers
    • Proved too much for the System to handle
    • Defeated the Ninja, the Addict and the Dog

Wiz: Avar1ce fell into the formula of SuperHOT like he was born for it, fighting his way through whole armies of Red Dudes in a practically non-stop mission of bullets and death. So much so, that it actually posed a problem for the System, which was gradually losing control over Avar1ce because of his desire for More.

Boomstick: It had to keep on pooping out levels and foes for them to overcome that it was clear to the System that it would never get the chance to add Avar1ce to its collection of assimilated minds. Others like the Addict, Hound and Ninja had fallen to this ploy, but not Avar1ce, since he desired to just keep going and going with no end in sight.

Wiz: Even after his mind was fully uploaded, it would not bend to the System's whim. So instead, it went for another approaching, tricking Avar1ce into gaining more in exchange for losing what he already had. This was the allure of the EMPTY Core. By giving up his other Cores and even the most basic of his abilities, like moving or sight, Avar1ce became truly unstoppable, able to kill Red Guys with a single thought. Unfortunately, he got far into it, he ended up entering a non-existence.

Boomstick: Makes you think this would be the end of Avar1ce, right? Wrong! Avar1ce still somehow existed, because his desire for More was still going strong. It let him to find whatever he could in the System's programming to keep himself entertained, and the System evidently didn't like that, because he threw in the towel and let Avar1ce have his endless series of battles with all his reclaimed powers. Save for EMPTY, with a new one which was pretty much the opposite; PURE, which enables Avar1ce to shut down his Cores and Hacks for a self-imposed challenge.

Wiz: What better way to get more out of something than making it harder to overcome after all. SuperHOT may be in design a video game but Avar1ce can lay claim to being the only one to truly beat it.

Pedro[]

Wiz: Imagine waking up one day with no name, no memory, nothing. Nothing, that is, except for a mysterious guide which takes the form of something very high in potassium; a banana.

Boomstick: I don't really need to imagine, the same thing happens to me every Friday, except what appears to me as a guiding voice is something high in hops! Any guesses?

Wiz: Faced with the only constant in an existence otherwise bereft of anything else, the unnamed gunman quickly found himself following the whims of Pedro the Banana.

Boomstick: So much so in fact, it might have well as been Pedro driving the wheel of the gunman's brains. And it was a good thing he was because the place they were in was filled to the brim with the criminal element.

  • Background
    • Real Identity: Unconfirmed
    • Height: 5ft
    • Guided by a talking banana, Pedro
    • Implied to have stuck a banana into his brain

Wiz: It was Pedro's personal mission to bring this presence to heel, consisting of an arm's dealer, the leader of a bounty hunter army, and the head of the criminal empire's massive hideout. And to do so, this Gunman was going to make use of his special set of skills, not to mention a large collection of weaponry.

  • Arsenal
    • Ballistic Knife
    • Dual M9 Pistols
    • Dual Mac-10 Uzis
    • Spas-12 Shotgun
    • Heckler & Koch Assualt Rifle
      • Grenade Launcher attachment
    • MK 12 SPR Sniper
    • Petrol Canisters
    • Frying Pan
    • Skateboard
    • Motorbike

Boomstick: Practically the one thing that the Gunman has which isn't a gun is a Ballistic Knife, but even then it can still be used from a range, since the blade can be freaking ejected! That is one sword mightier than the pen.

Wiz: The large number of guns the Gunman brings is frankly staggering. He has Dual M9 Pistols, which have infinite ammo reloads, Mac-10 Uzis which have a combined ammo count of 90 and the Spas-12 shotgun, which carries up to 8 shots. His Heckler & Kotch assault rifle has an ammo count of over 30 per clip of powerful bullets and can even be upgraded with a grenade launcher. His Sniper Rifle is perfect for shooting his foes from a longer distance, especially with the laser pointer mounted on it. And whilst he has them all to hand, the Gunman is very good at turning the environment's contents to his advantage.

Boomstick: For example, he can kick them at a gangster to give them one hell of a bloodied nose, like he does with a frying pan. And when its hanging in the air, he can ricochet bullets off it. He can shoot canisters full of petrol and get around or weaponize a skateboard. But if he wants a more stylish means of transportation, he can procure a motorcycle, with which he can perform wicked flips.

Wiz: Of course, having a large arsenal of guns is nothing special...

Boomstick: You bite your tongue!

Wiz: Without a special move set to complement it. Let me finish!

  • Abilities and Techniques
    • Focus
    • Parkour
    • Spinning Evasion
    • Martial arts
    • Skilled marksman
    • Regenerative heal
    • Means of mental fightback

Boomstick: Well, since you don't finish soon enough, I'll just go ahead and say that the Gunman is capable of slowing time. See, I can finish a statement immediately.

Wiz: Which you shouldn't have in this case because Focus isn't really time slowing. Really, it's more a personal enhancement of the Gunman's perception, enabling him to line up in shots in a shorter amount of time. And speaking of, befitting the fact some of his guns are dual wielded, he's an expert at aiming at two locations at once.

Boomstick: Even whilst performing awesome backflips through the air, delivering flying kicks or performing rolls. And speaking of unique manoeuvres, the Gunman's incredible movement skills enable him to, and I'm not joking, spin himself around to avoid gunfire. Even in areas which are presumably very narrow, like an open doorway, these spins keep the Gunman safe from danger. And in case he does take damage, he can apparently pull a CoD technique and heal over time, so long as the harm isn't too extensive to empty a segmented life bar. And imagine, he does all this because a talking piece of fruit tells him to.

DUMMI: Imagine, doing the bidding of a small floating companion, just because. In fact...Boomstick, destroy my matrix for good.

Boomstick: I'm sorry, but are you a floating beer?

DUMMI: No.

Boomstick: Exactly. Shove off.

  • Feats
    • Breaks glass windows with ease
    • Dodges bullets at close range
    • Survived a crash into the water from over 10,000 meters up head-first
    • Survives an oil tank exploding in his face
    • Defeated Mitch, Danny, Ophelia and Pedro

Wiz: Under Pedro's guidance, the Gunman cut a bloody path through whole armies of criminals, including their three biggest members.

Boomstick: And even a freaking mecha! A rather small one, but still!

Wiz: But upon facing down the last of the criminal leaders, a truth came to light for the Gunman. Mainly, that the criminal family he'd been hunting down had once been his.

Boomstick: Yep, he was the son of the arms' dealer, Mitch the Butcher and brother of Danny, the bounty hunter master and Ophelia, owner of the Internet.

Wiz: You see, the Gunman understood the evils committed by his family, but since blood is thicker than water, he could never bring himself to stop them. At least, not whilst knowing the truth. Thus, with a bit of impromptu brain surgery, involving a reoccurring hard yellow fruit, the Gunman erased his memories, enabling him to strike down his criminal family, unaware of his familicide. Until Ophelia went and spilled the beans.

Boomstick: Thus leaving Pedro with one last task to help his friend through; his own assassination, either out of the predicted guilt or to fully eliminate the criminal presence.

Wiz: But the Gunman has the option to resist Pedro's suicidal urgings, and should he, will take the battle to Pedro within his mind.

Boomstick: On one side was the Gunman, riding a flying walrus and on the other was Pedro, grown to giant size with equally massive guns. The result? The latter is splattered all over the mental landscape. And then things get really trippy when, back in the real world, the Gunman removes his mask to at last reveal...Pedro's cartoon face!? I'm sorry but what the hell!

Wiz: I think it's clear that the Gunman's real name and identity was the "original" Pedro, with the banana guiding him being the remnant of his pre-amnesiac self. By regaining his old face, so to speak, it may symbolize how he has decided to accept what he has done, viewing it as objectively for the greater good. One he reached by going, well...bananas.

Boomstick: With a dash of blood and bullets!

Interlude[]

Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, time to end this debate once and for all.

Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle!

The Battle[]

Setting: Slum city at night

The unnamed Gunman is skateboarding through the streets, minding his own business until Pedro the Banana blipped into appearance next to him.

Pedro: Careful my friend, I can feel something very strange up ahead. It almost feels...hot. Super...hot.

After turned his head to acknowledge Pedro's warnings, the Gunman looked ahead of himself in time to see Avar1ce walk out a bar with a broken window. The SuperHOT player turned to look at the Gunman as though he had all the time in the world, even as they jumped up with their skateboard before sending it flying towards Avar1ce's face.

FIGHT!

With a casual lean to the side, Acar1ce let the skateboard sail past his head whilst the Gunman leapt over him, ending up behind him at an upwards angle. Being very careful about the way he moved, he turned around to see the Gunman hanging in the air, frozen with is control over time. He has begun firing his twin pistols, the bullets heading towards Avar1ce at a snail's pace. Avar1ce calmly moved his head to avoid the shots before grabbing the skateboard still flying through the air slowly; he used it to block some of the bullets before tossing it at where the Gunman was going to land. Thus, it struck him in the face, shattering and the Gunman fell backwards. One of his guns went flying out of his hand and Avar1ce caught it, firing at the Gunman as he fell backwards. But the Gunman adapted to his fall, rolling backwards to let the bullets pierce the ground before using the roll to shoot back to his feet, returning fire from his remaining pistol. Avar1ce shot down the bullets with fire from his own. When the pistol clicked empty, Avar1ce hurled the gun at the Gunman, which smashed apart his own.

The Gunman pulled out his twin Uzis but before he could get off a barrage, Avar1ce walked forwards, slow enough to prevent time moving far enough for the Gunman to pull the triggers and grabbed one of the Uzis from the Gunman's grasp. Manoeuvring behind him, Avar1ce raised his second pilfered weapon and fired a volley at the Gunman's back. But as the bullets flew at him, the Gunman noticed them and performed his spinning dodge, the bullets whizzing past him. Once the Uzi held by Avar1ce clicked empty, the Gunman stopped spinning, aimed and fired his own.

The bullet clipped Avar1ce even as he moved to dodge it, causing him to lose hold of his gun. The player clutched the wounded part of his arm and drew backwards, intending to put distance between him and the Gunman, but this was easier said than done as the Gunman started to leap through the air, off and to benches and concrete rises in pursuit. He'd reclaimed his stolen Uzi with a brief scoop downwards and was firing them both as he went. Only with careful movements to slow time did Avar1ce avoid the barrages, until his way backwards was cut off by the Gunman, high in the air due a latest leap, shooting the ground before him. Avar1ce attempted to move to the left, yet the Gunman once again impeded him with yet another firing of bullets in that direction, before also shooting up the ground to Avar1ce's right. Now completely boxed in, Avar1ce was unable to escape when the Gunman landed and launched at him with a flying kick, striking him directly in the face. Avar1ce was able to recover by the time the Gunman landed after staggering background and lashed out with a hand to knock aside the Uzi the Gunman aimed at him. The Gunman tried to bring the other around, but it too was knocked aside by Avar1ce's strike and the latter followed it up by a knee to the stomach, making him double over before receiving interlocked hands swung up into his face, sending him rolling backwards. He got back to his feet in the motion and jumped up into the air, this time being the one attempting to escape. But with the right Hack equipped, Avar1ce jumped after him, barging into the Gunman with his body and knocking him to the ground, splaying him out to use his Dthstomp hack to shoot down towards him with a great deal of force.

It was semi-thwarted however when the Gunman used his Focus to increase his perception and gave him the time to avoid Avar1ce's downwards stomp, letting his foot smash into the pavement. The Gunman rolled back to his feet and brought out his shotgun, firing a spread at his foe. These pellets ended being cut apart by Avar1ce with his Katana, brought into the fight with him by the right Hack. The Gunman attempted to fire again but Avar1ce beat him out by hurling his Katana straight at him, lodging it in his shoulder. Although he didn't drop the Shotgun, the Gunman was still on the backfoot by Avar1ce recalling the Katana to hand as he strode towards him. Upon catching it and having closed the distance, Avar1ce swung the katana down at the Gunman's head. A shower of sparks flew out when the Gunman used the shotgun barrel to block the swing and as Avar1ce was busy trying to overpower him, the Gunman swung his foot up and struck his foe in their family jewels. Avar1ce lost his grip in the katana and bent over, holding the wounded area. Making sure he was immediately still, Avar1ce stared up at the re-aiming Gunman in silent fury before tapping into the Hound's Charge, barging into the Gunman and sending him flying backwards.

The Gunman smashed through the window of a bar and kept flying to hit the wall behind the counter before finally dropping down to hit the floor. Avar1ce clambered through the de-glassed window and carefully advanced towards the counter in case of retribution. It ended up coming as a hail of thrown bottles in too much of a spread for Avar1ce to dodge, some of the bottles smashing against his body. He stumbled backwards but recovered to grab and hurl a whole table, the Gunman dropping beneath the counter of avoid it. He poked up again to grab the counter's ashtray and hurl it at his enemy, who used time slow to grab the item and hurl it back. It smashed into the Gunman's face, obscuring his vision with ashes. By the time he waved it away, Avar1ce had closed the distance, standing in front of the counter, and was aiming a Fishgun directly at his face. As the small harpoon flew out, the Gunman used Focus to gain time to evade the projectile. After dodging a second one with the same ability combination, in the process putting some distance between him and his foe, he grabbed a frying pan from behind himself. The third harpoon to fly at him was deflected by the frying pan's flat, sending it ricocheting up to the ceiling and down into the Fishgun, taking it out of commission and out of Avar1ce's hands. Avar1ce stumbled back and suddenly found a red laser pointer on his forehead, courtesy of the Gunman's sniper rifle. It took him tapping into his Lightspeed hack to avoid the bullet whizzing at his skull. He closed the distance with the increased speed and grabbed the long barrel of the sniper rifle and yank it from the Gunman's hand, swinging it into its owner's face across the counter. The butt of it also sagged the Gunman's face and dragged him over the counter, causing him to land in a crumple on the floor. Avar1ce aimed the sniper rifle at him, but with an extending of his arms against the ground, the Gunman launched himself into the air to avoid the shot. In the process, he pulled out his Assault Rifle, firing downwards at Avar1ce who had to dodge backwards. He continued to do so when the Gunman landed and took a knee to keep firing, until he bumped into a table. Noticing there was a petrol canister on it, Avar1ce grabbed it and hurled it at the Gunman at the same time the latter fired a grenade.

The two items exploded in a fiery blast which blew away the walls and ceiling of the bar, exposing Avar1ce and the Gunman as lying on their backs, non-verbally groaning in pain as their guides whispered to them.

Pedro: Get up friend, you are not yet finished.

System: There is More to be done to this one.

The fighters got back to their feet in an almost inhuman manner and drew out a knife each. Circling each other for a few seconds, they took turns swiping at each other, using their respective skills to avoid these attacks. Pedro was able to, with skillful footwork, get close enough to graze Avar1ce's chest with the knife but in doing so triggered a Hack which sent out Shuriken from Avar1ce's body in a spread. The Gunman spun to evade these before stabbing out with the knife. It was knocked aside by Avar1ce with his knife before he casually dodged some of the Gunman's stabs with his time stop. He then swiped outwards very suddenly, and the Gunman barely blocked the knife with his own levelled downwards. The two blades struggled against each other, with Avar1ce even taking a step forward to put the pressure.

This ended up working against him when the Gunman launched the blade of his own knife downwards, where it pierced through his foot and pinned it to the ground. The ejected blade also snapped Avar1ce's in half and so was firmly helpless and rooted to enable the Gunman to start beating him down with repeated punches. It ended with the Gunman interlocking his fingers and swinging both fists up into his foe's face, making him stagger and really fall over, had the Gunman not grabbed his throat. He pulled back his fist for another strike, but that was when Avar1ce locked eyes with him and activated Hotswitch.

Avar1ce was sent mentally flying into the Gunman's mind, feeling their mind coming towards them to swap places. But to his surprise, Pedro was also visualized as coming towards him - the back of a flying walrus with a giant Pedro, both wielding guns. The contents of these guns were emptied at Avar1ce's mental self, nearly ripping it apart before it was sent backwards in the opposite direction, returning to his physical body.

Back in his body, Avar1ce made sure he was extremely still, keeping time paused. Very carefully, he lifted his arm up, bringing his splayed palm up to the Gunman's face in an attempt to crush it. But for every inch he moved, so too was the Gunman able to reach behind himself to get something and start swinging it upwards, especially with Focus. It was banana with a bloodied end and just before Avar1ce was able to close his fingers fully around his face, he swung it around to drive it through their ear. Avar1ce's head remained intact but the inside of it was shattered/scrambled, causing instant death, the SuperHOT player falling to his knees in a position of mortem. In doing so, his fingers snagged the Gunman's mask and pulled it off, leaving the maskless individual to stare down at his bested foe.

Pedro: Bravo friend, bravo.

KO!

Outcome[]

Boomstick: And people say fruit is meant to be good for you. At least, not like that.

Wiz: In what is proving to be a bit of reoccurring theme this season, this was actually a very even and potentially close matchup. In fact, it strained our minds to figure out how this would go down, but we were able to find the subtle ways Pedro's friend, the Gunman, edged out.

Boomstick: For example, and most simply, the Gunman had the advantage of always having his numerous weapons on hand at all times, whilst Avar1ce needs a special Hack to bring a single weapon with him. And when it came to durability, the Gunman has the most consistent record of surviving stuff beyond just bullets like Avar1ce can also do. For example, giant explosions and falls from potentially thousands of feet straight into the water.

Popup: In spite of its name, the Grenade hack does not produce a proper explosion.

Wiz: Speaking of which, whilst dodging is the expertise of both of them, the Gunman's was ultimately the superior in that regard. This is because his spinning manoeuvre could essentially let him "bypass" the projectiles of his foes, even in a doorframe, whilst Avar1ce needs to move around much more. Furthermore, we should reiterate that Avar1ce's ability to stop time isn't, from an outsider's perspective teleportation, just breathing time to plan his next move. Avar1ce's foes can still see every movement he makes and so can the Gunman. This means he would actually be able to work around it with his own techniques. For example, he could increase his own reactions with Focus or target two areas at once, essentially enabling him to pen Avar1ce in. And the fact is, stopping time with lack of movement means that Avar1ce may not be fully comparable to a bullet's speed, unlike the Gunman who has dodged gunfire. Which, by the way, isn't completely perfect because of his beating heart.

Boomstick: And in case it isn't obvious, the Gunman is the much more agile of the two, capable of jumping around pretty much anywhere, something that Avar1ce couldn't really keep up with.

Wiz: Of course, the power of Hotswitch, enabling Avar1ce to swap bodies with a foe and leave his old one to die with the swapped foe, sounds like a way to instantly win...had it not been for the Gunman's mental battle against Pedro. Let's walk you through it; Pedro the Banana puts himself in the Gunman's ear to try and control him into killing himself and when the Gunman shakes off his influence, a giant Pedro zooms in from the background to engulf him. This leads to them fighting in the centre of the mind, for what one can only presume is complete control and the Gunman overcomes Pedro's invasive influence. Considering how much Pedro coming towards the Gunman harkens to Avar1ce's Hotswitch POV, then there's no reason to believe he couldn't similarly fight him off.

Boomstick: The Gunman's natural speed, larger arsenal, mental reactions, agility skills and better toughness meant there was Ped-no way he would lose this game of SuperHOT potato.

Wiz: The winner is the Gunman, AKA Pedro.

Trivia[]

  • The connection between the protagonists of SuperHOT (in this case Avar1ce) and My Friend, Pedro (who is likely the real Pedro) is that they are both unnamed, mute gun-fighting anti-hero protagonists who both have the ability to slow/stop time, although it mainly works from their own perspectives, and are skilled at avoiding gunfire. Both are directed on their missions because of an entity manipulating them to do so (the Core and Pedro the Banana respectively), only to later rebel against them. Both have fought against those who went through similar backgrounds, and with similar skills, (Avar1ce fought against the Addict, Nindaz and Dog whilst Pedro fought against his own family). Both their games also have past iterations; SuperHOT has gone through numerous instalments, like VR and Mind Control Delete and My Friend Pedro was later remastered and given a mobile version.
  • This battle would have been in hand-drawn animation
  • The original music for this battle would have been called 'Ripe for Deletion', based on additional games in both combatants' series
