Superman VS. Thor is a What If? episode of Death Battle that is the first episode of Season 1 of Tonathan100's Death Battle series.
Description[]
DC Comics VS. Marvel Comics! One of the ultimate versus debates concludes here! Hold on to your hats people, as it’s going to be a wild ride.
Interlude[]
Wiz: Marvel Comics and DC Comics have been rivals for over seven decades, and many of their powerhouses have been pitted against each other.
Boomstick: But today, we will be getting to the true powerhouses of each verse, like Superman of DC Comics Creation.
Wiz: And Thor of the Marvel Comics Omniverse.
Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Superman[]
Wiz: Superman, also known as Kal-El or Clark Kent, is the leader of the Justice League and one of the strongest beings living in Earth-0. He was rocketed to Earth as a baby by his father to be saved from the dying planet that was Krypton.
Boomstick: Superman gained a multitude of superpowers and abilities once his body started to absorb the electromagnetic radiation of the yellow star that is our Sun.‘’’
Wiz: These abilities include: super strength, speed, durability, flight, heat vision, ice breath, X-ray vision, a massive array of superhuman senses, energy absorption, Torquasm-Vo, a healing factor, resistance to many different types of attacks, being skilled with alien technology and having notable hand to hand and superhuman combat skill, molecular oscillation, and the Cosmological Vibrational Song. To top it all off, under a blue star his powers are boosted and he gains the ability to imbue others with his powers, and he can immerse himself within a yellow or blue star to amplify his powers to epic levels.
Boomstick: Superman’s strength is absolutely insane! He has moved moons and planets on multiple occasions, moved the Mageddon mechanism, rocked the Solar System and even the 52 universes of the Local Multiverse with his punches, and held a miniature black hole in his hands. Hell, he can even lift the Book of Infinite Pages and the Spectre, who contains eternity itself! He lifted literally infinite mass, twice! And before anyone says “but the Book of Infinite Pages forced him back”, Superman and Captain Marvel where blatantly shown reading the book before that happened, which could not have happened if they didn’t lift the Book.
Wiz: Superman also has lots of experience fighting a myriad of powerful opponents. He has fought just about every cosmic being in DC Comics, from Darkseid to Imperiex to even the Anti-Monitor.
Boomstick: Superman’s speed is simply beautiful. He has moved from Earth to Rao in less than an hour, destroyed reality-blitzing missiles, tagged the Flash on multiple occasions, speedblitzed Imperiex Probes, beings who can outright decimate the Flash, wrecked Green Lanterns, who can cross the Universe in only a matter of 10 hours, and has laid the smackdown constantly on Wonder Woman, who can deflect trillions of Shattered God particles moving across the universe.
Wiz: The durability of Superman is amazing as well. Superman has absorbed enough Anti-Sunlight to vaporize half of the Milky Way Galaxy. As he could absorb that much harmful energy into himself without his cells exploding, he is durable even on a cellular level, and not just on a macroscopic level. He has withstood blasts from the Galaxy Busting Imperiex Probes. He has survived the Source Wall exploding. He has withstood the magic blasts of the Galaxy Busting wizard Mordru. He has tanked Omega Beams from Darkseid, the guy who can destroy 1/5th of a Universe. To top it all off, he even tanked a Big Crunch.
Boomstick: Superman's heat vision has been stated to be off the charts by any of the standard scientific measures. Keep in mind, we can measure the exakelvins produced by experiments done in the Large Hadron Collider, but Superman’s heat vision is outright immeasurable to us.
Wiz: Superman has resisted time manipulation, broke the boundaries of spacetime with punches, withstood death inducement, tanked reality warping, literally ignored being erased from time itself, and can mend a hole in reality with just his heat vision. Or just some static electricity. He also destroyed Darkseid’s true form by manipulating the vibrations of Creation itself…by singing…to cancel out Darkseid’s vibration.
Boomstick: Of course, Superman is not completely invincible.
Wiz: Superman is weak to Kryptonite, a radioactive material from Superman’s home planet that poisons Kryptonians. He is also susceptible to magic and can be reduced to peak human levels of power if he stays under a red star for too long. He also holds back a lot more than he needs to. Nevertheless, Superman has trained to minimize the effects that these weaknesses have on him. Superman is one of the strongest characters to ever be in a Death Battle.
Superman: Look's like it's a job for Superman!

Thor[]
Wiz: In the Marvel Multiverse, there is a plane of existence, known as Asgard, where the Norse pantheon spend their days. One of the deities of the Norse pantheon was Thor Odinson.
Boomstick: Thor Odinson was conceived when the Top God of the Norse pantheon decided to bang the Earth to create the strongest man in Earth-616. And boy did it work.
Wiz: Thor's superpowers are: Super speed, strength, durability, enhanced senses, being capable of projecting lightning, terrakinesis, immunity to mortal diseases, immortality (type 1), being a skilled warrior, incredible stamina that allows him to fight for weeks on end, levitation, the ability to travel between dimensions and universes, Astral Projection, the ability to exit the spacetime continuum at will, wielding Mjolnir, which gives him many powers, and he can detect magic and sorcery.
Boomstick: Adding on to this, Thor has the Belt of Strength, which doubles his strength. But enough of that now. It's time to get to the good stuff.
Wiz: Thor's strength is often cited as “incalculable”, and for good reason. He, along with Beta Ray Bill, destroyed a dimensional portal with a gravitational binding energy of 5.525E46 joules. He also reversed the World Engine, a machine capable of moving 9 planes of existence. Thor has lifted the Midgard Serpent, an entity as large as a planet, and fought Glory and even managed to harm his soul. He has also harmed and even sometimes floored Galactus, whom, even when starving, can make a blast that covers three star systems, which makes him Large Galaxy Level.
http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f98/t563090.html https://www.reddit.com/r/respectthreads/comments/3risls/respect_galactus_marvel_earth616/ http://thecomicsledger.proboards.com/thread/4846/respect-galactus-devourer-worlds
Boomstick: Thor also has warp speed and reactions. He once threw Mjolnir across the galaxy and it still came back to him in under a minute. He has also travelled to another Universe across the cosmos in under a minute. He has also tanked attacks that harm on the mental, physical, and spiritual Level, along with taking attacks from Celestials.
Wiz: Thor has also absorbed enough energy from a bomb to destroy 1/5th of the Universe. He has even withstood the flames of Hell itself. But then we get to Thor's three most powerful techniques, Warrior Madness, the Godblast, and the Anti-Force.
Boomstick: Warrior Madness is basically a “Berserk Mode” for Thor that boosts his power by ten times his base amount. The Godblast is a blast of Odinforce energy so powerful that it harmed Celestials, cosmic beings who can control the basic fabric of the universe. Finally, the Anti-Force is a blast of exotic matter similar to anti-matter that can defeat foes massively more powerful than Thor himself.
Wiz: Thor's only real weakness is that he has not fully mastered the Odinforce, an extremely powerful cosmic force powered by Odin. For reference, Odin was so powerful that even while severely weakened in his fight with Seth which was waged on every plane of existence simultaneously, the energy released from their battle was so powerful it "shattered countless entire galaxies, reignited dying suns, and shook the very fabric of the multiverse". But, if Thor can play his cards right, he may even be able to down the legendary superhero himself, Superman.
Thor: It is time that you felt the wrath of the God of Thunder!

Pre-Death Battle[]
Wiz: All right, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.
Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle!
DEATH BATTLE![]
In Metropolis, Thor flies around looking for Superman. He has heard many a legend about this being who can slay worlds, who can overpower gods, who can move something called a “Mah-Geh-Dun”. At last, he found a man who looks exactly like how Superman is described to be levitated on the top of a tower.
Thor: Are you the one whom they call “Superman”?
Superman: That I am. I'm the protector of this planet. And what business do you have with me?
Thor: Then prepare yourself, for a battle that will shake the pillars of reality shall now ensue!
Thor shoots a blast of lightning at Superman, which Superman dodges.
Superman: Stop! This is insane!
Thor: Tch…foolish knave, thou shall know the wrath of the God of Thunder!
FIGHT!
Thor strikes first, forcing Superman back with a hit from Mjolnir. Superman withstands the attack and counters with a pressure point speedblitz. Thor tanks the speedblitz and simply hits Superman with a blast of lightning, which blasts Superman back. Superman uses his ice breath and freezes Thor in an ice block, which Thor breaks out of. Thor keeps blasting Superman with lightning bolts powerful enough to rend Earth to ash, until Superman dodges and hits Thor with heat vision hot enough to ignite a star.
Thor, undamaged, simply attacks Superman at the spiritual level. Unfortunately for him, Superman, a skilled Kryptonian martial art user, survived the attack due to his skill with Torquasm-Vo. Superman counters the attack with a psychic attack on Thor, hoping to break Thor's mind before any further damage to the Earth can be done. But Thor managed to resist the attack.
Thor: It's rare that I have to actually become serious for my battles. But it is now the time to show who is stronger: an alien, or a god!
Superman: Enough of this. I'm going to end this fight now!
The battle truly begins as both Superman and Thor stop holding back. And both combatants fly towards each other at top speed. Time dilates at their velocities, as their collision destroys Earth-0. But it was of no consequence, as the fighters simply travel to another universe to continue their epic battle. And it was a true epic. Galaxies were shattered, long-dead stars reignited, the entire universe trembling from the force of their blows.
Thor used the Anti-Force technique against Superman. Superman resisted the attack and countered with spacetime manipulating heat vision, which sends Thor back into a red star. Thor flew out of the red star more pissed off than harmed, and he pushes Superman through said red star. Superman
As Superman and Thor fought, Thor thought the heat of a blue star would definitely destroy his opponent. So Thor hit Superman with Mjolnir at just the right trajectory to send Superman flying into a blue star. Thor then took the opportunity to rest, having “finished” the fight. But, he then sensed that something was wrong. He sensed that Superman was actually growing stronger. His suspicions were proven true when Superman came out of the star covered in blue flames and massively more powerful than before.
In response, Thor activated his Warrior Madness state and started charging a combination of the Anti-Force and the Godblast.
Superman: I am done here. It’s time to stop.
Thor's Anti-Force Godblast was meet with the Cosmological Vibrational Song, which overcame the Anti-Force Godblast. When the Cosmological Vibrational Song hit Thor, it destroyed Thor not just on the physical, mental, or spiritual level, but on the conceptual level.
K.O!!
Superman looks at the damaged Universe left in the wake of his battle with Thor, and sheds a single tear.
Results[]
Boomstick: The awesomeness...so indescribable.
Wiz: While that was one the most intense and destructive, not to mention close battles that Death Battle will ever have, Superman won for several major reasons.
Boomstick: Superman is, to put it bluntly, stronger, faster, and more durable than Thor. While Thor ‘’’has’’’ performed a feat equivalent to moving 9 universes…
Wiz: When Superman lifted the Book of Infinite Pages, which contained every story possible, Hypertime itself was described as containing “stories”. This means that every universe and timeline within Hypertime was a “story”. Superman lifted literally an infinite amount of universes and timelines. And before anyone screams “outlier”, need I remind you that Superman also lifted the Spectre, punched through Emperor Joker, and shook at least the Local Multiverse with a punch.
Boomstick: Thor is fast, but Superman is faster. While Thor travelled across the cosmos to a planet a universe away in under a minute, which yields tens of quadrillions of times lightspeed…
http://www.narutoforums.com/xfa-blog-entry/black-bolt-thor-feats-and-misc.20271/
Superman’s feat of catching up to “reality-blitzing” missiles, well, I'll let Wiz explain this to ya.
Wiz: The “reality-blitzing” missiles were meant to sterilize the Local Multiverse. They were moving through inter-universal Bleed in the time it took for a heartbeat to happen. A calculation is in order…
http://www.narutoforums.com/xfa-blog-entry/reality-blitzing-missiles-revised.35590/
…and it looks like Superman is in the single digit quintillions of times lightspeed. This blows Thor's feat straight out of the water.
Boomstick: Thor is also not as durable as Superman. Tanking blasts from casually Universe Busting Celestials is impressive, but not as impressive as tanking a blast from Gog's staff unharmed. Gog's staff can harm the Multiverse Busting 5th Dimensional Imps. Superman has also withstood blasts from Mordru, so his vulnerability to magic is out of the question. He has also fought the Anti-Monitor, so the Anti-Force wouldn’t work either.
Wiz: Finally, the Cosmological Vibrational Song destroyed Darkseid’s true form, which was destroying all of the Local Multiverse and even the Megaverse, non-corporeal, abstract, and existed on a higher plane of existence. In short, the Cosmological Vibrational Song is one of the most broken attacks in Death Battle history. Thor could never hope to survive it.
Boomstick: Thor simply couldn't enlighten the Man of Steel.
Wiz: The Winner is Superman.

Description[]
DC and Marvel's heaviest hitters and ready for a cosmic shaking showdown!
Interlude[]
Metroid: Superman, the Man of Steel.
Thunder: And Thor, the Norse God of Thunder!
Metroid: Marvel and DC have many powerful heroes but today, we put the heaviest hitters against one another.
Thunder: No Thorforce though, for fairness sake. He's Metroid, I'm Thunder!
Metroid: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Superman saves the day in DEATH BATTLE![]
Metroid: In a galaxy far away from our Solar System was the planet known as Krypton. Jor-El, a brilliant scientist, and Lara, an astronaut, had gotten their first child, whom they named Kal-El.
Thunder: But since this a superhero origin...yeah, turns out Krypton was set to blow up soon 'cause it a doomed planet, and so Jor sent Kel to Earth, knowing the sun would give him powers and whatnot.
Metroid: Found by Martha and Jonathan Kent, Kal was renamed Clark, who was raised well and ethics and a moral code. For most of his life, Clark believed he was human like everyone else.
Thunder: Which he likely would forever had believed if it weren't for his Kryptonian powers beginning to show up as he got older! Talk about extreme puberty!
Metroid: At first scared, Clark, at the age of 18 was told the truth by his adopted parents. From that day, he resolved to use his powers from then on only for the good of mankind.
Thunder: And that's how Superman came to be, people!
BACKGROUND
Real Name: Kal-El
Height: 6'3" / 190.5 cm
Weight: 235 lb / 107 kg
Species: Kryptonian
Founding Member of the Justice League
The most OP boyscout ever
Metroid: Superman's powers are immensely insane. They come from him drawing power from the sun; steadily increasing his power as time goes on. It can metabolize solar energy into his body by splitting atoms to create energy, and once absorbed enough anti-sunlight that would have vaporized half a galaxy.
Thunder: He's got so much solar energy in him that when Dracula tried to suck his blood, the vampire instantly bursted into flames since every cell in Superman's body stores pure concentrated sunlight! Even magical sunlight from Apollo just got absorbed by him, like a power boost! There's also doesn't seem to be a limit to how much he can absorb.
Metroid: Even if there are no signs of solar energy, Superman can also absorb other forms of energy; electricity, geothermal, biological, and electromagnetic, and turn them into solar energy.
Thunder: And like most superheroes; he can fly.
Metroid: There have been many theories on how Superman's flight works, but Dessad, the head scientist of Apokolips theorized by him, ahem, "pulling reality in his direction". This means that Superman is essentially bending the reality around him to achieve flight and move at high speeds, fast enough to acquire interstellar travel.
Thunder: What the fuck?
Metroid: Superman's body generates an invisible electromagnetic aura a few millimeters off his body. It makes his clothes just as durable as he is, and can even extend to people and items Superman is carrying to protect them from the effects of intense g-forces, gravity, and friction.
Thunder: It's how he's able to carrying things way bigger than him even though they should collapse under their own weight! It's also how even when fighting rough battles, Supes doesn't get his suit dirty, which definitely saves him time wasted at the cleaners.
Metroid: Superman is also a combat expert. He can swap his tactics and fighting styles to benefit him against how his opponent fights He's been trained in boxing, wrestling, gladitorial combat, pressure point combat, advanced martial arts, and knows two Kryptonian Martial Arts; Torquasm Rao and Torquasm Vo.
Thunder: Weird names aside, Torquasm Rao gives him the ability to never give up and trust his instincts, react to danger with a single thought in the Theta State, get rid of any toxins in his body at the time, fend off spiritual attacks by meditating, and even project himself to the Astral Plane!
Metroid: Torquasm Vo, on the other hand, is more mental, and allows Superman to fight off telepathic attacks, cast illusions, and manipulate the minds of others.
Thunder: Supes also has X-Ray vision, allowing him to see through walls, see nuclear and electric energy, know how tough your bones are, AND lets him see invisible people!
Metroid: He can see into deep space with clear clarity, or see things on the molecular level, such as atoms and DNA.
Thunder: Now let's bring up a more powerhouse power; his Heat Vision! He can fire beams of concentrated heat from his eyes, which can become hotter than the sun, and it even likely reach absolute hot!
Metroid: He can wield his Heat Vision with complete control and accuracy, and can make it invisible to the human eye. It can harm ghosts, be used to warm up others in the arctic, and even be used as an electromagnetic pulse with the microwaves in it.
Thunder: He can make the Heat Vision not too hit, but extremely bright to blind folks, and has used his heat vision to ionize the air, part the ocean, and zapped a microscopic homing device out of Batman's skull! It can even go to the molecular level!
Metroid: He can use Heat Vision to lobotomize someone, repair the tears in reality, and it's max temperature isn't even measurable by the standard scientific method. Once with Martian Manhunter, his Heat Vision caused an extinction level event in a lake that was at absolute zero.
Thunder: He once used it to power an engine that can move Krypton, and Krypton is larger than Jupiter with gravity 50 times greater than Earth! Supes can even use it to make a miniture localized supernova from WATER.
Metroid: It can melt and vaporize metal, cauterize wounds, and be fired at a rapid rate by Supes merely blinking. But most importantly, it can match Darkseid's Omega Beams, which erase anything they touch from existence. Super can even see the entire electromagnetic spectrum and things down to the microbial level, which includes radio waves and phone waves. He also can see infared rays, different dimensional planes and even souls.
Thunder: He can even see EMOTIONS, and his sense of touch is so much better than someone elses that he CAN FEEL THE MINOR CHANGES IN THE AIR.
Metroid: Superman also wields Super Hearing, which allows him to hear across the planet and can identify heartbeats. He can hear a millisecond alarm, and signals from all over the world.
Thunder: He even heard Jimmy Olsen's signal watch on Earth all the way from the star Vega, and that's like 25.05 lightyears away! And he heard it IN SPACE! That shouldn't even be possible!
Metroid: He can tell if someone is lying, and has a sense of smell millions of times better than any human. His breath is even capable of creating giant gusts of winds stronger than hurricanes or icy breaths capable of freezing people, the brain of a cannibal planet, and even intagible opponents.
Thunder: He can make white noise at 18 terahertz, whistle high-pitched noises, destroyed an illusion by singing, and cancelled out Darkseid's soul...by SINGING.
Metroid: One thing that's to note is Superman's healing factor and enhanced immune system. Not only is he immune to all known earthly diseases, he recovered from being impaled numerous times, having his throat slit, even having his heart ripped out.
Thunder: Hell, he even pulled himself back together after being ripped apart by a micro-tesseract! And when an alien virus infected his arm, he expelled it and grew a new one!
Metroid: Superman has immensely high pain tolerance, being able to resisy being shot by Kalibak's Nerve Beam, which activates all its target's pain receptors.
Thunder: He could pratically live forever, and he even lived for 1000 years fighting off monsters with Wonder Woman! He can even resist mind control, telepathy, and even pathogens that attack his brain! He was too pure for Neron to possess, and he ince unconsiously kicked Martian Manhunter out of his head!
Metroid: Superman has also resisted transmutation, from a cosmic storm that can transmutate matter, to Darkseid's magical transmutation, and even a molecular disruptor ray.
Thunder: And when he uses super speed to vibrate the molecules in his body, he can phase through objects or straight up turn invisible!
Metroid: He can resist telekinetic powers, overcome corruption, resist existence erasure, countered a temporal modulation field, was incapable of being removed from the time stream, and is incapable of being erased from time itself. He can survive being in the fifth and sixth dimension,an resist reality warping, not even even erasing Superman from all of reality and memory works. Even Death itself considers him an anomaly, with him resisting an attack that can induce death, and even prevented his heart from stopping.
Thunder: Supes can immediately calm down animals, and can raise his body temperature higher to burn silicon! But if he wants to bring out the big guns; he can do the Infinite Mass Punch!
Metroid: The Infinite Mass Punch is a technique Superman was taught by the Flash, by vibrating his fist at just the right speed, Superman can punch with the force of a white dwarf star, though this could be even stronger. But his most powerful, and destrucive, is the Super Flare. With it, Superman releases all the solar energy in his body in a massive explosion of energy, higher than a supernova. This even managed to harm Mobius, who took the combined assault of the Green Lantern Corp without a scratch.
Thunder: But it's got a drawback; when used, it robs Supes of all his powers for the next 24 hours, but he's gotten better at keeping his powers after using it! It's still his last resort attack, though.
Metroid: Superman's own strength is absurdly powerful; the shockwave of his own punches can destroy a large portiom of the moon. He can hit people hard enough to shatter small planets, and almost de-orbitted the moon while in a weakened state.
Thunder: He can easily punch people into orbit, can put cracks in Wonder Woman's sword just be flicking some blood onto it, and his attacks can cause shockwaves and earthquakes!
Metroid: Superman's stomps even triggers seismographs hundereds of miles away, anf are said to be like a baby nuke. His uppercuts can stagger Doomsday, when prior he and Superman were hit by the equivelent of a million nuclear blasts.
Thunder: He also can break out of john Stewart's constructs, which can march Kyle Rayner, who held back the Big Bang! And a fight between him and Golden Age Superman nearly destroyed the universe!
Metroid: In fact, Superman's fight with Golden Age Superman rewrote timelines and shattered a space-time continuum, and was repeatedly stated that they would destroy each others’ universes and then eventually they started shattering the universe again, and they were again shown rewriting timelines. The DC Comics website confirms that the two were shaking the space-time continuum apart. Superman once 0unched back Orion and fought on par with him on another occasion, who tanked a weapon capable of annihilating the universe, as well as having one fifth the power of a Big Bang.
Thunder: Superman's heat vision made up one fourth of the power capable of creating a universe, and it defeated Hal Jordan, who was going to create a new universe, and that attack caused a Big Bang to occur!
Metroid: Superman has fought Brainiac 13 on three different occasions, someone who can ravage timelines and rewrite the universe. Superman also defeated Superboy-Prime alongside Golden Age Superman, who can withstand a Big Bang, and who was considered on par with the Silver Age Anti-Monitor, who was going to consume the universe and was defeated by Golden Age Superman and Superboy-Prime even after absorbing all energy from the antimatter universe and using it to fight them.
Thunder: Yeah, Supes kinda casually fights people capable of destroying the Universe, Timeline and even Space! And it's more than a uni feat; it's confirmed each DC Universe is infinite in size, and he usually holds back! And this goes for durability to; Supes is taking hits from these heavyhitters and keeps on going!
Metroid: And his speed is immense, with being able to keep up, tag, react, and outdo all lf the Flashes, from Barry Allen, to Eobard Thawne, and even Wally West, who all can move faster than planck time, the fastest recorded measure of speed. He's also a supergenius; Brainiac is only a thousand times more intelligent than him, and he can process and store the knowledge of over 500 octodecillion beings. Superman memorised the Miracle Machine and rebuilt it by hand, outsmarted Mister Mxyzpltk, who is perceiving events across infinite timelines simultaneously, and mastered Torquasm-Vo within minutes, which takes regular Kryptonians years to learn.
Thunder: Sheesh, this guy sounds way too OP. Did DC ever think to dial it back sometime?
Metroid: Honestly that may be the point of his character. While Superman is immensely powerful, his true struggles come from his choice to save others, even if his own life is made miserable. But that's what makes Superman...Superman. He devotes his life to those in need, and even if the likelyhood of him surviving are next to none, he'll still take the chance to save even the smallest amount of people.
Thunder: But bad guys beware, morals or not, Superman is SCARY. But this powerhouse is ready to save anything, and anyone!
"Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us. And on my soul I swear... until my dream of a world where dignity, honor and justice becomes the reality we all share... I'll never stop fighting. Ever."
Thor brings the thunder in DEATH BATTLE![]
Metroid: Back in the days of the Vikings, whenever the heavens crackled and lighting came, this meant one thing; Thor was angry, and mercy was unlikely.
Thunder: That was the vikings. But something took a new spin on Thor, the Marvel Comics!
Metroid: As son of the All-Father, Odin, Thor was a warrior prince. He fought all manner of magical foes for thousands of years, but overtime, the Prince became arrogant. Thus, Odin decided to teach him humility...
Thunder: By sending his ass to New York, the place of giant rats and pizza!
BACKGROUND
Height: 6'6" / 1.98 m
Weight: 640 lb / 290.3 kg
Also called Goldilocks
Current King of Asgard
Likes latte in his coffee
Metroid: Thor, being an Asgardian, has a far better immune system; being immune to all human diseases, and is able to resist fire, lava, toxins, poisons, corrossive touchs and viruses.
Thunder: And Thor ain't just the God of Thunder, he's also the God of Strength! He lifted a planet-sized serpent, almost threw the Earth out of orbit from arm wrestling with Hercules, and even straight up knocked out the Phoenix Force!
Metroid: He can casually lift over million tons, can punch people into orbit, can tear the Earth open, benched the weight of 20 planets, and can tear through chains designed to hold ten giants, and a single giant possesses the strength of ten gods. He also destroyed a portal bigger than the nearby stars.
Thunder: He was once blasted with a graviton bomb, which subjected him to the gravity of a neutron star. That’s over 200 billion times greater than Earth's gravity, and was even hit by a graviton beam, which increased his weight to infinity! He survived being in stars and planetary explosions, and even tanked a supernova!
Metroid: Thor also can fight for 40 days and 40 nights without stopping; showing he has much greater stamina than the average human.
Thunder: Ya know what else Thor's know for? His crazy powerful weapon, Mjolnir! Forged by Odin himself after trapping a literal cosmic storm called the God Tempest in a metal called Uru, Thor's tiny hammer is way more stronger than ya think!
Metroid: Mjolnir was made from the heat of a burning star that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. It gives Thor unlimited lightning capabilities, produce powerful mystical energy blasts, form massive mystic barriers and even tap into the electromagnetic spectrum and harness the alpha particles in the atmosphere.
Thunder: It can detect all kinds of energy, create portals to travel to other dimensions, and can absorb and shoot back energy! Thor can even suck energy outta people if he wants!
Metroid: Mjolnir can revive the dead, negate mystical energies, has the same functions as a holy religious object, allows Thor to recall past events by spinning it, manipulate your soul, amd unleash a powerful attack known as the Thermo-Blast, an attack capable of shaking the Marvel Universe, which is infinite in size.
Thunder: And remember the lightning capabilites, well Thor can do that on his own, but Mjolnir gives an extra boost! He can channel lightning through his fists, and can knock out the Hulk, who can easily shrug off one billion mega-volts!
Metroid: Thor can also freely manipulate the weather. He can control the weather with devastating degree and release blasts of lightning. Mjolnir allows him better more precise control over his powers and allows him to better regulate his power output, and can act as a shortcut to access his natural powers.
Thunder: He can generate the winds of a thousand worlds, make flaming rain, and make a whirlwind with some debris!
Metroid: He can summon an electromagnetic whirlwind to siphon pure Eiderurm, control cosmic storms, and can use winds to suck thr oxygen out of fire.
Thunder: He can control temporal storms, summom solar storms and interstellar winds, summoned rain to a dead planet after he heard a prayer, helped land a jet safely with a whirlwind, and made a storm to block off an attack that was destroying the planet! Hell, he can make worldwide storms too!
Metroid: And Thor's energy absorbtion is way more versatile than one may believe. He not only can return the energy tenfold, but also a hundredfold. It can absorb radiation, life energy, and can shoot out enough energy to reignite the sun. He's even confident he can contain a planet-busting explosion.
Thunder: With Mjolnir, Thor can even transmute the elements AND matter! He turned a pyramid into an orchid, and turned someone into helium!
Metroid: Thor is also capable of time travel. He can travel forward or backwards in time, time travel by spinning, and even freeze time as a whole.
Thunder: Thor can turn invisible and intangible, fly fast enough to cross galaxies in seconds, alter memories, and even has cosmic awareness, meaning he can track ya down, even if across solar systems, dimensions, and realms!
Metroid: And his belt, Mejingjord, doubles Thor's already godly strength. And if he chooses to wrap the belt around Mjolnir, it'll double the hammer's strength.
Thunder: And if Thor's deciding smashing ain't good enough, he's got Jarnjborn, his original weapon before the hammer! Not only is it indestructable from an enchantment, but Thor has used it to fight celestials, one of the strongest characters in the Marvel Universe!
Metroid: And the Odinsword is a powerful blade that can end the universe at full power, or at least that's what it's said to be capable of. And Thor also has a chariot pulled by two goats named Tooth Grinder and Tooth Gnasher, mystical goats that can revive if killed and can dent Uru Metal with their hooves.
Thunder: It also helps that Thor's got a good mind; he can resist mind control, telepathy, attacks to his mind, and even mists made to fuck with your head have no effect!
Metroid: And he wields an unbreakable will. He feels no fear, immune to siren songs, and powers through skin loss. Adding to that, his pure good was enough to hurt Mesphito.
Thunder: But if Thor's TOO overwealm for some reason, he can use the Godblast! It's Thor entire godly power put into one giant powerful blast of energy! It's so powerful, Galactus, the guy who can threaten the infinite Marvel multiverse, WAS CONFIDENT HE'D DIE TO IT. Why do we need the other Avengers if this guy is around?
Metroid: Because a good strike is not enough to always solve a problem. Though with Thor, his millenia of combat experience certainly backs him up.
Thunder: Like how he's strong enough to fight the Sentry! The Sentry can go toe to toe with the Worldbreaker Hulk, who can destroy the Infinite Marvl Universe, apparently 120 times over!
Metroid: He can also blitz Ares, the Greek God of War, who can fight within the span of Planck time. He can travel through sheer speed alone, and outraced the destruction of the Never Queen, the conceptual abstract of possibility across all of time and space, including the possibility of him and Dawn being unable to escape the wave of destruction, and fly across thr entire infinite Marvel universe in seconds. These feats are impossible to calculate!
Thunder: Thor's even lived through existence erasure before! Physically, Spiritually and Temporally! And if he loses his temper...see ya.
Metroid: When he enters the state known as Warrior's Madness, Thor willingly sacrifices his sanity for a tenfold increase in power. And frankly, he's already strong enough without it; once, the Worldengine, a machine that was controlling Yggdrasill, a tree that connects 10-universal realms, with the purpose of mechanically tricking Yggdrasill into disrupting the natural flow of Ragnarok, the end of the world. So, Thor pushed it, and reversed the flow of fate.
Thunder: And then he went to take the Elder Gods that made Ragnarok, so it's no longer happening.
Metroid: No matter if he feels unworthy of his father's throne, or the unbelievable odds Marvel throws at him, Thor will always rise to the challenge.
"I am the god of thunder, lord of the savage lightning. The very skies must tremble when speaks The Mighty Thor!"
Prelude[]
Metroid: Alright, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities.
Thunder: It's time for a Death Battle!
Pre-Fight[]
Metropolis, 9:00 AM
In downtown of Metropolis, Superman watched over the city a smile. No criminal acts so far, no signs of Lex (although that might actually be concerning), and everything just seemed peaceful.
At least, until he heard something crackling behind him, making him turn around and see a portal. Ready for danger, Superman's stance stiffened...
...But lessened as the figure that emerged from the portal was revealed. On a chariot reeled in by two goats, was Thor Odinson.
"Thor? What brings you here?" Superman questioned in surprise. Thor got off the Chariot, and gave a smile to the Kryptonian. "Ah, remember our battle, Kal-El?"
"Yes. I do. What about it?" Superman questioned, as Thor gave his response. "You had bested md before, but I have grown stronger, far stronger. I believe it is enough to have us do battle once more!"
"A rematch? Thor, I understand you're a warrior, but I don't feel like fighting an unreasonable battle." Superman explained, but his words fell on deaf ears.
"Then allow me to show you!" Thor declared, suddenly rushing in and slugging Superman across the face.
Seems the rematch was happening one way or another...
Fight[]
Superman was sent back, holding his head as he looked up, seeing Thor flying up to him, hammer ready to slam against Superman's head. Being as quick as possible, Superman grabbed his arm and punched him in the stomach, sending the god back a bit.
"Thor, stop! I don't want to do this!" Superman exclaimed, but Thor merely spun his hammer, causing lightning to cackle from it. "Then you will have no choice but to admit defeat!"
Thor generated enough lightning and hurled the hammer at Superman, who caught it in his palm. Thor would return Mjolnir to his hand, Superman hanging on. When close, both warriors struck, Superman with another punch, and Thor with a knee.
BOOOOOM!!!
The impact, which barely used much of their strength, caused a shockwave thst shattered windows in every car and building in Metropolis. The two superheroes weren't deterred in the slightest, not even hurt...nor budging from either's strikes.
Superman quickly then did a tackle, with two now flying across the city while striking each other. The speed they traveled at was unbelievable, with neither being properly visible to the naked eye as they exchanged blows.
Superman would eventually gain the advantage, hitting Thor in the stomach with a hard punch being dishing out a fast paced combo, striking Thor all over before kicking him down to the road below, causing it to rip apart.
"Had enough? I'd rather not destroy more things in Metropolis for a fight you want." Superman lectured, as Thor rose from the rubble.
"The God of Thunder will never back down from a battle!" Thor proclaimed, causing Superman to sigh. "Really wish you would listen..."
Thor rushed in, swinging his hammer at the Man of Steel...just to go right through him. Superman quickly vibrated his molecules to avoid being hit, turned around to punch Thor...just for Thor to pull the same trick.
"Wait, what?" Superman's confusion was taken advantage of by Thor, who used it to blast him back with a giant blast of lightning. Superman was smashed through building, holding his hand at the end. "Wow. I didn't see that coming..."
Looking upwards, Superman would see Thor spinning Mjolnir and creating a massive whirlwind, sucking up debris in the process. Frowning, the original superhero took off into the whirlwind, flying past each piece of rubble or smashing through it.
When close, Superman did another punch, but Thor was quick enough to catch his attack effortlessly. Superman tried to pull his fist back, but Thor kept gripping on.
So Superman blasted him at point blank with his Heat Vision, propelling the god back, launching him out of Metropolis, much to Superman's relief.
The caped alien flew forward, and grabbed Thor, preceeding to then do an uppercut that launched the god of Thunder into the upper atmosphere of tbe planet. Before Thor could regain his bearings, Superman flew up after him and performed a double axe handle, hitting him back to Earth...and smashing him through the ground.
Thor went through nonstop ground before finally emerging into the cave. Superman flew after him and taking a look around, flinched at the surrounds.
"Bruce isn't gonna be too happy about this..." He muttered, before hearing thunder clap behind him. It was Thor, and he was absorbing the energy from all the machinery in the Batcave!
"Feel the true might of a god, Kal-El!" Thor yelled out, ready to unleash a giant wave of lightnig out. However, Superman grabbed two Batmobiles and lifted them up, before smashing them into Thor just as he was about to unleash his attack.
"There, that should at least have knocked him out." Superman muttered, but his wishes were ignored as Thor's attack still came out, coming towards him. Superman took a more defensive stance, attempting to block the lightning wave.
(Music Stops)
KER-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!
([https://youtu.be/SdW_HnTMrVo Metropolis Rooftop - Injustice)
The lightning blast pratically obliterated the cave, and launched Superman not only out of Earth, but into the next Solar System. "Urgh. Felt that one."
Thor wasn't quite finished yet, as he would chase him down, this time he used Jarnjborn to try and slash at Superman instead who flew past him, before punching Thor's back.
The punch launched Thor into a planet, but Thor wasn't going down so easily. When Superman came into the unknown planet's atmosphere, Thor summoned flaming rain to come down onto the planet.
Despite flinching, Superman kept up the flow. "Flaming rain...impressive, but I can regulate my body temperature to withstand it." Superman spoke, but Thor simply flew up to him. "Then withstand this, mighty alien!"
With both Jarnjborn and Mjolnir in hand, Thor struck Superman. The sheer force Thor outputted was immense. VERY immense. In fact, it was enough to destroy the entire planet they were on!
Did it cause any lasting any lasting damage to either of them? No. Not in the slighest. The two flew out of the exploding planet and were striking each other across the galaxy, destroying stars, planets, even entire Solar Systems.
"Thor, stop! This is causing too much destruction!" Superman yelled out, but any attempts at trying to tell Thor to quit was ignored. "Until we have a victor, I will not rest!"
A heavy strike from Jarnjborn hit Superman in the chest, but his bio electric aura helped prevent a wound. He punched Thor back, sending him flying through space.
Thor gritted his teeth, holding Mjolnir out. Superman grunted, before slowing regaining footing. "Trying to suck out my energy, huh?" Superman noted, flying up and and grabbing a nearby asteroid a chucking it at Thor.
"Have at thee!" Thor yelled, throwing the hammer to smash the asteroid into space rubble. A smirk appeared on the God of Thunder's face, before seeing Superman fly back in, wielding Mjolnir!
"That's enough, Thor!" Superman yelled, hitting Thor with Mjolnir. "We're destroying planets because of your wishes!"
Thor ignored him, pulling out the Odinsword. "Another weapon...you've got a lot more to show than before, Thor."
"And you have grown stronger and more formidible, Kal-El! But assure you I will emerge the victor!" Thor claimed. Both charged at each other, Thor wielding the Odinsword and Superman wielding Mjolnir.
Weapons clashed, shaking the galaxy from the shockwaves released. Planets had their orbits altered; stars flew into other galaxies, black holes shattered; all as a result of the sheer power both were outputting.
Ultimately, they stalemated, both unable to overpower each other. Superman started another attempt at Heat Vision, but once it hit Thor, he growled as he grabbed Superman by the head and clenched his head, and embuded his fists with lightning, causing Superman to yell and let go of Mjolnir.
That was EXACTLY what Thor wanted, grabbing Mjolnir and smashing it into Superman's stomach. With the fact Mjolnir was magic, one of Superman's most well known weaknesses, the Man of Steel was launch through planets as he eventually landed on a moon galaxies away.
Anytime to get up was non-existent; Thor immediately flew in, and smashed Mjolnir into Superman, causing him to yell out as he was sent all the way into the center of the moon. Thor looked closely, certain it wasn't enough.
And he would be right, Superman would rise upward, and bellow out white noise so potent, it caused Thor to shake. 'He's grown far more powerful than ever before! I mustn't hold back!"
Thor held Mjolnir out to try and hit Superman with a beam to alter his memories. While it did hit, Superman brushed it off. "I've dealt with mind attacks before. Nothing new." Superman commented.
And with that, Superman used his Heat Vision once more, this time with far more power than before. Thor's eyes widened as the Heat Vision was now a giant wave of heat, before spinning Mjolnir.
"Feel the winds of a hundred worlds!" Thor yelled, casting...well, the winds of a hundred worlds. Superman's heat vision struggled, and as a result, the winds won out, causing Superman to fly back.
Thor flew after him, forcing Superman to use his breath to push him back. But Thor just used Mjolnir to manipulate the winds and launch them back.
Superman grunted, before flying back in and hitting Thor with a haymaker. It was enough to hit Thor into another planet.
"I've been at this for awhile....I might need to use that technique Superman muttered, before beginning to fly around as much as he can, building up mass. Meanwhile, Thor was charging up another attack.
Once Superman was ready, he flew down to throw one powerful punch at Thor, with the God of Thunder unleashed his own powerful attack.
The Thermo-Blast clashed with the Infinite Mass Punch. For a second, there was silence.
The the entire UNIVERSE shook as a the force eventually unleashing the wave of power soon after, the entire universe being 'DESTROYED by the attack.
Midway into the destruction, however Thor would suddenly grab Superman, and spin. Spin fast enough that they suddenly disappered. But in truth?
They time traveled back to very start of the brawl.
Superman was thrown back, groaning as he looksd around; it was Metropolis. No windows shattered and people were going about their day as if nothing had happened.
"Wait, Earth is...okay?" Superman questioned, as Thor floated to him. "No. I merely brought us back to the beginning of our duel to fix the damages."
"That's good. So, you satisfied yet? Superman questioned as Thor chuckled. "We haven't discovered who is victorous now, have we?"
Superman put on an annoyed look. Maybe he should have saw that coming.
Both charged at each other once more, this time grabbing each others arms and trying to throw the other off balance. Superman used his breath to try and freeze Thor.
At first it worked, but Thor eventually ripped his way out before being frozen completely. Thor saw another punch coming, so quickly he phased through to avoid damage, while turning invisible.
Superman kept a look out, before noticing the slighest change in the wind, turned around and grabbed Thor's hammer swing. But sadly, Thor unleashed a massive lightning blast that launched him through LexCorp and onto the streets.
Thor followed, ready to slam him down, but Superman turned invisible himself to throw Thor off, before punching him high into the air. He flew up, and swung his fists into Thor's back, sending him through LexCorp AGAIN to reduce it to rubble. Seeing Thor now struggling to get up, Superman slowly descended to his opponent.
"You got your fight Thor. It's done." Superman told the god, before going to help him up. But before he reach his hand out, Thor suddenly let out a cry of sheer rage.
NO! NO LOST! ONLY VICTORY!" The god roared as Superman paused in shock. Thor had given into Warrior's Madness, and was now a angry driven maniac with high bloodlust.
(Alive)
Before Superman could reply, Thor struck him at inconcivable speeds, striking hard enough to launch him all the way to Mars. Thor followed the downed hero, creating storm that covered the entire planet.
Thor followed, smashing Mjolnir constantly into his opponent's head over in over, actually leaving bruises all over Superman...until he punched hard enough to launch him off.
"Thor, calm down! Whatever you're doing, it isn't you!" Superman cried out, but Thor kept going and going. Thunder struck Superman from all over, causing him to be forced to shield himself.
Once the thunder cleared, Superman flew over to Thor, and once again, they clashed faster than the eye can see. Anyone looking over the Solar System could see two flashing lights speeding around it and shockwaves appearing whenever they were close.
Superman was hit down through space, as Thor chased after him. Seeing Thor charging up another attack, Superman narrowed his eyes.
"I didn't want have to resort to this, Thor." Superman spoke, before putting his arms into an x-formation. Thor flew down, letting out a final cry.
"FEEL HEAVEN'S WRATH!!!" Thor roared, before unleashing one overly powerful attack; the Godblast. Superman kept charging up as the Godblast got closer and closer. But just as it was getting ready to even poke Clark...
He unleashed the Solar Flare.
KKAAAAAAAAAAAABBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!
The sheer power of both threatened the universe all over again, shaking the entire universe. But before any true damage to any planets or celestial bodies could be done, Superman powered through the Godblast!
Thor was thrown off, and Superman quickly went to strike every last bit of his pressure points. Thor, now unable to move, struggled to lift his arm as Superman's eyes glowed with rage.
But his tone...was far from it. "I wish I didn't have to do this, Thor."
The Heat Vision was launched, at the microscopic level. Within moments, it zipped past Thor's chest...and zapped his heart.
In nanoseconds it was vaporized. Thor's angry expression immediately turned to shock, and his eyes rolled to the back of his head as his struggles faded.
Superman, looking silently, had a saddened look on his face. He never wanted to kill a fellow hero, but Thor's thrist for battle would've killed everyone if the battle kept going. He would carry Thor's body, and fly off the Earth with it.
Results[]
Thunder: Well THAT was fuckin' collateral.
Metroid: This fight was immensely close. Superman and Thor were pratically dead even in so many ways it was pratically down to other details.
Thunder: Supes has fought people who can destroy the infinitely sized DC Universe and Multiverse, but Thor has fought people who can destroy the infinitely sized Marvel Universe and Multiverse! So they got equal stats and strength in speed.
Metroid: Superman is fast enough to tag a Flash, who can move faster than Planck time, and flew to the edge of the Infinite Universe. Thor has also flew to the edge of an Infinite Universe, AND outsped all of probablity. Both of them were immeasurable, so we had to rely on their abilities to settle the score.
Thunder: Thing, most of their abilities get countered too! Superman and Thor can phase and turn invisible, they both have healing factors, both resist mind hax, and Superman has shrugged off all of Thor's form of hax before, so it came to the littlest of details.
Metroid: Thor definitely had far more experience, having fought millenias, far longer than Superman fighting for about a thousand years. Although, he lacked the descipline Superman had.
Thunder: Sure, both were trained, and Thor was trained far longer, but Thor's strategy is usually just to go ham and wail on the enemy. Superman, on the other hand, actually adapts to his opponent and uses different attacks to keep up with his foe's fighting style!
Metroid: Granted Thor did have actual weapons over Superman having pretty much none. Mjolnir, in particular, would be powerful enough to defeat Superman due to it's magical nature.
Thunder: But as Avengers/JLA showed, Superman is actually WORTHY of the hammer, so he could hold it back and even just disarm Thor with it effortlessly!
Metroid: While Warrior's Madness COULD bump up Thor above Superman's level, Superman is constantly being powered by the sun, and even without it, Superman can convert other energy into solar energy, so overtime, it isn't farfetched to believe Superman could just grow strong enough to surpaas the 10x power boost Warrior's Madness gives off.
Thunder: And with pressure points, Superman could freeze Thor in place! Sure, Thor could eventually break out, but Supes is likely to use a finisher first like using Heat Vision to zap his brain, heart, etc., for an easy victory. Plus, Thor's gonna have a hard time killing a guy who healed from being ripped to shreds.
Metroid: Thor was unbelievably powerful, worthy of the title "god of strength", but Superman's descipline, healing and abilies allowed him to rise above a god.
Thunder: Thor really just got kryptoned hard this time!
Metroid: The winner is Superman.
Superman:
+ Far More Desciplined in combat
+ Healing factor makes him hell to kill
+ Heat Vision allows him to bypass durability
+ Constantly getting stronger as time goes on
+ Pressure point combat gives him enough time to hit Thor with Win cons
+ Worthy of Mjolnir, enough to disarm and hold it back
= Equal in physicality
= Can resist Thor's hax
- Not as experienced
- Not as trained
- Mjolnir's magic would hurt him hard
- Lacking in arsenal
Thor:
+ More Experience
+ More Training
+ Mjolnir being magic, would hurt Superman alot
+ Has weaponry
= Equal in physicality
= Can resist Superman's hax
- Not as desciplined
- Healing factor would be hard to get around
- Has no defense against heat vision frying his organs
- Over time, could be outmuscled
- No resistance to pressure points
- Can get disarmed of Mjolnir
