History[]

Sundowner, whose real name is unknown like his colleagues Mistral and Monsoon, was born into poverty in Alabama. Despite his family's lack of wealth, he was a good student with solid grades (presumably Cs to As), but because of this lack of wealth, he could not afford to pursue college. He subsequently joined the military, likely in the early 80s. His birthdate is unknown, but he was born earlier than 1972.

Sundowner found that he was an excellent soldier - too excellent of a soldier. He was investigated by the United States Army for multiple war crimes, such as desecration of the dead, torture and mutilation of captured enemies, and killing unarmed persons in combat. He was never found guilty of any of the aforementioned, and later left the army to work for various PMCs and fought in various wars. The year he did such was unknown, but it is likely he did so in the 80s. He fought in wars such as Operations Urgent Fury and Just Cause, as well as the Iraq Wars and Afghanistan War.

He was put out of action in 2008 when an IED hit him. However, even being crippled didn't put Sundowner's bloodlust to rest, as he came back into service with an extremely capable cyborg body. And we mean this bloodlust part literally, as his primary weapons were two massive high-frequency machetes named Bloodlust. He was self-trained in use of these weapons and therefore can confuse his opponents. Provided, of course, they aren't murdered in brutal fashion.

Alongside these two weapons are six explosive reactive armor plates, similar to modern tank APSs, or Active Protection Systems. These can be moved and used as shields or as battering rams, or sometimes as direct weapons. However, all six of them have somewhat vulnerable arms that are socketed into his back which can be cut, and they can only face one direction at once.

In April of 2018, he lead an operation to assassinate the leader of an unnamed African country, killing said leader himself and leaving another colleague, Jetstream Sam, to kill Maverick Agent Raiden. In May of the same year, Sam would report to Sundowner that Raiden had tracked the two down and was battling, or had already killed, Monsoon just outside World Marshal HQ.

After fighting his way through World Marshal HQ, the HQ of the largest PMC in the world (although according to Doktor, "for the world's largest PMC, their security measures are quite poor - quite poor."), and through body doubles of Mistral and Monsoon, Raiden confronted Sundowner in the server room. Not wanting to destroy the brain casings and the Sears Program, Raiden followed Sundowner to the helipad on the rooftop.

The two engaged in a fierce duel, and Raiden was initially caught off guard with Sundowner's shields. However, Raiden eventually cut all six of them off, and Sundowner combined his Bloodlust machetes into their true form - a massive pair of pincer blades. Once again, Raiden was caught off guard with his sheer speed, strength, and efficiency in using the weapon. Eventually though, Raiden forced Sundowner off the helipad, but he had a helicopter - which he had somehow caught onto - to fire three missiles at the landing pad to kill Raiden.

Raiden commandeered a Slider and flew back up to Sundowner, who ordered the helicopter to fire its three other missiles; these missed, and Raiden threw the Slider at the helicopter. Unlike the missiles, the Slider hit its target, and in a fiery explosion, Sundowner was thrown towards Raiden and was subsequently cut to pieces.
