Description[]

Which of these snowy fellows will ice the others? MHA vs Mortal Kombat! Shaggylettuce's season 1 episode 8.

Introduction[]

Boomstick: Baby, it's cold outside!

Wiz: And the people who can do that are Shoto Todoroki, the son of Endeavor and one of UA's best.

Boomstick: And Sub-Zero, Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei! He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!

Wiz: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle!

Sub-Zero vs Shoto Todoroki

Sub-Zero[]

Wiz: Kuai Liang was a young boy when he and his brother Bi-Han were abducted by a clan of assassins known as the Lin Kuei. The young boy was trained from youth in the art of silent murder. When his brother was killed by Scorpion, he assumed the name Sub-Zero and left the Lin Kuei.

Boomstick: Sub-Zero has cool ice powers, and he can freeze you and can rip your skull and spine out of your head. He was also able to rip off Sektor's head!

Wiz: He can also break stone pillars, destroy metal doors, destroy thick walls, survive having swords shoved through his chest, and survive being burnt by Scorpion.

Boomstick: He can also punch down buildings and rip people's torsos off!

Wiz: His freezing powers are enough to freeze a building, so he could freeze a person, definitely.

Boomstick: And being a Mortal Kombat character, Sub-Zero is no stranger to injuries that would be fatal otherwise. He can get slashed by Kung Lao's hat!

Wiz: Sub-Zero is fast enough to appear as a blur, and can freeze the ground to make you trip. He can also dodge attacks from cyborgs.

Boomstick: But Sub-Zero has a whole pack of trump cards! The Fatalities and Brutalities! They include the Spine Rip, the Bed of Ice, Ice Skullpture, and Frostbite Rage to name a few!

Wiz: Sub-Zero deserves the title of Grandmaster.

Sub-Zero: You should rally your companions rather than mock your superiors.

Todoroki[]

Wiz: The youngest son of pro hero Endeavor is Shoto Todoroki. He is one of the top students in UA.

Boomstick: And he has fire powers AND ice powers!

Wiz: His ice power can fire an ice wall that can tower above an arena!

Boomstick: He rescued Bakugo from the League of Villains, and beat Izuku Midoriya and hurt All for One.

Wiz: His fire attacks can cause forest fires and can break Eraserhead's bindings.

Boomstick: He can also combine his quirks to create an enormous blast of fire, and can freeze waterfalls.

Wiz: Although he has weaknesses. With overuse of his ice side, he can get frostbite, although he can help with getting rid of it by using his hot side. His more powerful attacks are less precise and he hardly uses his fire abilities. Despite all this, Shoto Todoroki is by far one of the most powerful My Hero Academia characters.

Todoroki: Why don't we end this?

Intermission[]

Wiz: Alright the combatants are set and we've run the data through all possibilities.

Boomstick: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pre-Fight[]

The stands were packed with spectators, all from different realms. The crowd was electric as Shao Khan rammed his hammer into the floor. "Greetings, citizens of all realms," his intimidating voice boomed throughout the arena as he continued, "I am Shao Khan! I am judging this martial arts tournament and it is time for the first match to take place. Two Earthrealmers with similar abilities. The contestants- SHOTO TODOROKI!"

The door to the left of the arena was pulled open by seemingly nothing as a boy in a blue uniform, white and red hair and a burn mark on the left side of his face stepped out, causing a minority of the crowd to cheer. This was Class 1-A, Todoroki's classmates. He rolled his eyes as he waited for his opponent.

In the stands, a small boy in a purple costume asked a green-haired boy in an outfit matching his hair, "Do you think Todoroki will win this, Izuku?" asked the small one.

"Of course I do, Mineta, Todoroki's a beast! He doesn't play around!" responded Izuku, though he was cut off by the scoff of the blond boy the row in front of him, Katsuki Bakugo.

"What kinda stupid question is that, Mineta? Todoroki almost beat me. Of course he'll beat whichever loser comes his way."

"Wow, Kacchan! I didn't expect you to be so supportive-" Izuku tried to finish, but he was drowned out by the shout of Shao Khan.

"SUB-ZERO!"

The right door swung open as a blue-clad ninja dragging a mysterious object across the floor walked out. This must be Sub-Zero, Shoto thought.

His thoughts were cut short as Sub-Zero revealed the object to be a frozen spine and skull. Shoto's eyes widened as he watched him crush it with a single hand.

In the stands, the whole class gibbered.

Shao Khan smirked as he lifted his hammer, before yelling-

"MORTAL KOMBAT!"[]

The two rushed at each other and engaged in a series of kicks, as Sub-Zero's connected more often than not. He then performed a spinning kick, bloodying Shoto's nose and knocking him over. Shoto crawled to his feet as he rushed at the Grandmaster, but he left himself open as Sub-Zero's ice-covered fist slammed into his gut. He was sent flying back, grabbing his gut and simultaneously putting up an ice wall so as to block him from a ring out. He smashed into the ice wall and fell to the floor. He got up and he leapt at Sub-Zero, throwing an ice blast but the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei back-flipped, avoiding it. A small iceberg now stood there. Shoto charged at Sub-Zero, managing to land a blow across his face, then delivered a spinning kick. Sub-Zero was caught by surprise as he stumbled a bit, then Shoto flipped into the air and smashed his opponent's neck with an ax kick, sending him into the floor. He pulled himself out of a Sub-Zero-shaped hole before staring down Shoto, who got into a fighting stance.

"Given up already?" he asked sarcastically.

An ice ball formed in his hand and he shot it at Shoto, he tried to dodge, but it caught his foot and he fell over, though Shoto tapped into his fire side, much to his reluctance, and burnt the ice off. He was now left open as a knee smashed into his face, and he put up and ice wall and dragged Shoto's face across it, making it bleed slightly, and then he threw him to the floor and stomped his head into the ground. Shoto grunted as he was lifted by the hair. He was now bleeding from the face heavily, but countered it, wrapping his legs around Sub-Zero's neck and using his leg strength threw him away. Sub-Zero slid across the ring, and slowly picked himself up. He grunted as he imbued his fist with ice and smashed his fist into Shoto's face, knocking him away. Shoto swung multiple ice blasts at Sub-Zero, however Sub-Zero weaved through them all. He reached Shoto and grabbed him by the neck and an icicle formed in his hand as he slammed Shoto into an ice wall. Sub-Zero slowly moved the icicle to Shoto's throat. Shoto really didn't want to do this, but he had to use his fire side.

"RAHHH!" he roared, as he blasted Sub-Zero back with a fire blast and he skidded back, grasping his chest. Sub-Zero looked up and in seconds Shoto was in his face, as his burning elbow smashed into his chin, forcing him to look up. He then blasted him, knocking him out of the ring. Shoto smiled. He had won. He turned and started walking back, when an icicle pierced his heart. Blood dripped from his mouth as he looked at the spike.

"You.. cheat...ed.."

"No. There are no ring-outs in Mortal Kombat," Sub-Zero spoke for the first time, before continuing, "you win by death."

Sub-Zero grabbed his back, then ripped out his spine and skull, before freezing it, and crushing it.

Shao Khan smiled.

"Sub-Zero wins. Fatality."

KO![]

Boomstick: That's cold.

Wiz: While Todoroki held advantages over Sub-Zero, he was outmatched by Sub-Zero's superior cryomancy abilities, fighting skill, physical strength and lack of morals.

Boomstick: The building Sub-Zero froze was larger than the arena iceberg. And, Sub-Zero FROZE SUPERMAN. Yeah, that makes it pretty clear cut.

Wiz: To be fair, this was likely because it was magic.

Boomstick: Although, Superman's not more vulnerable to magic than Batman is, he has the resistance of a normal human. Because Sub-Zero resisted Scorpion's fire he could probably resist Shoto's. Looks like Shoto got a chill pill.

Wiz: The winner is Sub-Zero.

Intro[]

Cue: Wiz and Boomstick theme (Death Battle season 7)

Sub-Zero: Winter is here in North America. Which means ice is on the ground, causing slippery patches to appear everywhere. But, while ice is a nuisance to some, other use it for fighting.

Scorpion: Such as Sub-Zero, the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei from Mortal Kombat. Cue the 90's music, Subs.

Sub-Zero: Not now, we don't have the licencing.

Scorpion: Come on, it's OUR music from that cheesy decent 90's movie.

Sub-Zero: Have you been cooking lately?

Scorpion: No, that channel really hasn't done Cooking with Scorpion in over some months, sadly.

Sub-Zero: And Shoto Todoroki, the half and half kid from My Hero Academia. I'm Sub-Zero and he's Scorpion. And we're talking Batman and the others' places as they deal with a threat across the universe. So, let's get cracking. Not skulls.

Sub-Zero[]

Sub-Zero: Of all the many Mortal Kombat kombatants, with a k, only one has appeared in every single game. That man is...

Scorpion: No, no. Your brother was actually the dude to hold the mantle in the first game.

Sub-Zero: That's for later. Well, my brother and I lived peacefully in China with our parents. Then, everything changed until the Fire...

Scorpion: Not Avatar, you idiot. This is... MORTAL KOMBAT *hums 90's theme.* Plus, the Lin Kuei killed your family and kidnapped you and your brother.

Sub-Zero: Ok, smartass, how the hell did you come across my bio?

Scorpion: Hey, it's called the internet. Earthrealm really does have talent. Anyway, the brothers were trained to defeat my clan, the Shirai Ryu. They were trained in the art of stealth, assassination, and ice. *begins to sing "Let It Go" from Frozen.*

Sub-Zero: Not Elsa. She's a weakling. I, on the other hand, learned karate, dragon kung fu, and many other martial arts that I can't remember. But, my goody two-shoes brother took the name Sub-Zero while I got stuck with the damn Tundra name.

Scorpion: He didn't take it. He wanted it. Since Bi-Han was the best of the best, he went on several dangerous missions. One was to capture the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung, who was hosting a tournament called, cue the music, oh wait, licensing... MORTAL KOMBAT. *hums the song.* And, I'll stop for now.

Sub-Zero: Well, when Bi-Han was at the tournament, he was met by Hanzo Hisashi, or Scorpion, who was pretty angry with him 'cause he may or may not have killed the Shirai Ryu. So, after Bi-Han made Scorpion upset, he dragged him down to hell, or the Netherrealm and beat him up good. But, he almost didn't wanna kill him. Until Quan Chi told him like Palpatine.

Palpatine: Do it.

Scorpion: And, to cut things short, I killed him. This attracted him and he became the new Sub-Zero. He's younger, more compassionate, and just as deadly. He's got ice ice, baby, enhanced by his dragon medallion. This ice can create weapons like axes, swords, daggers, and hammers. He can make ice klones, with a k 'kause that's how we do things at Netherrealm Studios. These klones are immobile and look exactly like him. Maybe you should do that when you retire, or start an ice cream business. You'd make some good money.

*Shows Sub-Zero's friendship from MK11*

Sub-Zero: I even use the ice to teleport. I get this question all the time. How the hell does he do that? Well, simply put, I turn my body into ice and then reform it in another location. Even my fellow Lin Kuei members are shocked.

Scorpion: But, if you're touched by the ice, it's so cold, you're a goner. As stated previously, his ice can reach temperatures as low as -6.5 million degrees F. And he does't even flinch when he's using it. It's like he's immune to it.

Sub-Zero: I am, dummy.

Scorpion: Speaking of being grumpy, he can use one of many fatalities bekause Netherrealm has had too many for us over the years. I'll list the ones from MK9, MKX, and MK11. He can freeze his opponent's lower half and make them watch helplessly as he tears him into two. He can put you into a deep freeze and punch the ice so it breaks like a glass jar. He can freeze a hole into your chest, punch it so it breaks, then grabs your spine, breaks it in two, then rips you in half over his head. For old traditions, not for us, though, he can encase you into a lock like that of the olden days, chop off your head, freeze it, then punch it so it splatters like a dropped pumpkin. Or, for his traditional and klassic fatality, he'll rip out your spine.

*Shows Sub-Zero ripping out Kano's spine in MKX*

Sub-Zero: And that's only the surface.

Scorpion: He's dodged missiles, survived through Hellfire, and even corruption from a Kamidogu, whatever that means.

Sub-Zero: In the original timeline, the Kamidogu were jewels meant to house pieces of The One Being's consciousness. The One Being was a being capable of going toe to toe with the Elder Gods, like Raiden and Fujin, and essentially fed off their lifeforce. When he attacked and started a war, the Elder Gods couldn't defeat him. Instead, they sealed him away in six, or seven, Kamidogu jewels. When the timeline was reset, he remained in there, but the jewels were now daggers. These jewels or daggers make up the 6 realms. Earthrealm, Outworld, Chaosrealm, Orderrealm, Edenia, and the Netherrealm. There is a 7th, but it's yet to be revealed.

Scorpion: Essentially, Subs survived a piece of the God of, pause for effect... *inhales deeply* MORTAL KOMBAT*hums 90's theme*

Sub-Zero: What did I say about the licensing?

Scorpion: Come on, it's OUR song, Kuai.

Sub-Zero: I've been shown to match Scorpion, time and time. Scorpion can, in turn, match gods like Raiden and Fujin. He even dodged Raiden's lightning and defeated a corrupted version of him in the prequel comics.

Scorpion: Wait, the Star Wars prequels had comics?

Sub-Zero: Yes. That's not important. When I was corrupted, I could freeze over buildings and shatter them with a single punch. I even froze over a city.

Scorpion: He's also dodged Kano's lasers, withstood resurrection from Quan Chi, who turned him from a cyborg back into a human, while Kuai was still alive and conscious, and even double impalement. Hope you went to a doctor after that 'kause that was alota blood you lost. He's strong enough to punch your jaw so hard, it sends your head and spine flying off.

*Shows Sub-Zero preforming the Klassic Brutality on Noob Saibot*

Scorpion: He's physically strong enough to chop through gold, steel, titanium, and even, yes, diamond. Titanium can break at a force of nearly 63,000 psi, while diamond breaks at nearly 4.5 thousand tons of force. He's defeated Reptile, Ermac, his own brother, Taven, Sektor, me, and even Batman. What can't stop you?

Sub-Zero: While I do have immense power, I'm still a human and can be killed. Plus, my judgement can be clouded by me wanting to live up to my brother, which I did.

Noob Saibot, off-screen: Wrong.

Sub-Zero: Shut it, Bi-Han. But, if there's a cold feeling in the air, and raindrops freeze as they hit the streets, that's how you know I'm near, even if it's July, though.

*MK11 match between Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot is about to start, with each character doing their intro*

Sub-Zero: The Netherrealm can have you.

Noob Saibot: It also has your friend, Smoke.

Sub-Zero: Do not speak of my friends.

Shoto Todoroki[]

Scorpion: You ever wonder what it'd be like to be a superhero?

Sub-Zero: I did become Batman.

Scorpion: WRONG. That's your MK vs DC Universe character ending. Character endings don't count as canon. Only the main characters ending, like Liu Kang's in MK11.

Sub-Zero: Well, now you can start your hero training in high school. Everybody's got superpowers. Except him, her, him, and him. Yeah, the kid with the broccoli hair. He's Izuku Midoriya, a fanboy, or man simp, for the #1 hero All Might. He's basically if Captain America and Superman merged together and became an anime.

Scorpion: But, we're not here to talk about the broccoli kid. See, this world has it's fair share of weird shit, like Kermit looking people. All Might, back to him, was a symbol to many people. Except for the number 2 hero, Endeavor. He wanted to surpass All Might, but his flames weren't to bright.

Sub-Zero: He would forcibly marry a wife with an ice power and from that, have kids, of course, but Shoto would be the prize of them. Unlike his siblings, however, he had both his mom and dad's quirks. His right side was ice and his left side was fire. That drove his mom insane. Yeah, she poured a pot of boiling water on the kid's left side of his face, giving him a Zuko scar. He would turn away from his father and join U.A. High. There, he used his power, just his right side, for good. From his right side, Shoto can create ice to use as a weapon, create shields, not like Captain America, or slide on it.

Scorpion: His most-powerful weapon with the ice is the Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall. This massive structure can grow so big it can overshadow a 4 kilometre stadium. He can also use his ice to freeze over opponents, even to the point where they just shatter off. However, while he is resistant to the cold, he's not immune. Should he use his ice for too much, he'll succumb to frostbite and die. But, he won't be affected unless it reaches to freezing a building.

Sub-Zero: This was why Endeavor chose to have this. He knew that fire and ice were opposites. With hot and cold combined, they could counter each other out. And while Shoto wasn't too keen on using his fire, Deku showed him it was his own, not his dad's. Plus, since he inherited the flames from his dad, it's kinda similar. He once almost melted a metal man made from steel, which means his flames can reach up to 1,600 degrees. With flames, he can blast flames like a wildfire, block off areas with walls of flames, and use his father's move: Flashfire. With this, Endeavor can shape it, cling to walls, and even fly.

Scorpion: While Endeavor was an asshole, he was right. Fire and ice make a great combo. He's battled foes like Stain the Hero Killer, took hits from Deku, and kept up with people like Bakugo and Tokoyami, who've blocked Pikachu's, no, Kaminari's lighting. He's also a smart cookie.

Sub-Zero: After that, he worked out things with his mom, learned to tolerate his dad, and even taught him how to be better. I suppose this heart of fire won't go out.

Todoroki: You fool. Even though you wanna win this battle. Now who's screwing around?

Pre-Fight[]

Scorpion: All right, the fighters are ready. Now, it's time for MORTAL KOMBAT.

Sub-Zero, off screen: Licensing.

Scorpion: To hell with that.

Fight[]

`Sub-Zero is running through the forest, as part of a training exercise. Soon, the trees around him begin to freeze.'

Sub-Zero: Frost? Show yourself.

`A young student in a dark blue jumpsuit steps out of the shadows. This is Shoto Todoroki.'

Shoto: Yet another criminal scum.

Sub-Zero: You misunderstand me. I am since reformed.

Shoto: Tell that to the police. Your clan is wanted for the deaths of innocent civilians.

Sub-Zero: That was not us.

Shoto: That's what you all say.

`He puts his foot down and an ice wall rushes at the grandmaster. Kuai Liang dodges and fires an iceball back, only for Shoto to deflect it with his flames.'

Shoto: Another ice user. This guy's tough.

Sub-Zero: You will know the chill of death.

Shoto: Bring it, assassin. I've battled people like you before.

Sub-Zero: Not with the ability to freeze.

FIGHT

`Sub-Zero breaks the ice Shoto tosses at him.'

Shoto: Let's end this quickly.

Sub-Zero: Agreed.

'Shoto slides towards the grandmaster, with Sub-Zero sliding towards the son of Endeavor. The grandmaster creates a sword from thin air. He prepares to strike, but Shoto raises a wall of ice for defense. Sub-Zero smashes through the wall with his massive strength.'

Shoto: Damn. I can't beat him with my ice alone.

'Shoto begins to heat up his left side.'

Sub-Zero: You cannot best a grandmaster.

Shoto: Maybe I don't need to. Maybe I just need to make my flames hot enough to melt your ice.

'Shoto begins to use his flames against Sub-Zero, melting his ice ball.'

Shoto: Not so cold now, are you?

Sub-Zero: You test my patience.

'Sub-Zero's freezes Shoto's left side, then breaks it. Shoto bleeds profoundly as Sub-Zero grabs him.'

Shoto: What... what the hell are you?

Sub-Zero: As the snow falls, so will you.

Random Voice: FINISH HIM!!

'Sub-Zero rips out Shoto's spine, freezes his headless, spineless body, then uses the head and spine as a battering weapon to shatter the iced body. He then freezes the head and spine and smashes it on the ground.'

Random Voice: Sub-Zero Wins. Fatality.

'Sub-Zero runs on with his training.'

Post-Fight and Analysis[]

Scorpion: Well, talk about a cold way to die.

Sub-Zero: Shoto and I have speed tied, as we can keep up with characters who can dodge lightning. But, with my training, physical strength, and better ice abilities, I was able to take the win. Shoto was able to make an ice shard that dwarfed a 4 kilometre building, but I was able to freeze over a city. And while Shoto was strong enough to break ice, I can break ice with ease, too, along with gold, titanium, and of course, diamond. Shoto wasn't getting around the diamond breaking feat.

Scorpion: While Shoto's flames were hot, as much as 1,600 degrees, they weren't as hot as Sektor's 3,000 degrees flames. Plus, they couldn't melt Sub-Zero's ice fast enough, since his ice is super cold. and while Shoto has battled against Nomu and other villains, he hasn't faced a hellspawn or even gods.

Sub-Zero: Shoto may have been a fan-favorite, but the grandmaster's colder ice, experience, and physical strength froze the husbando in his place.

Scorpion: I guess Shoto didn't wanna see Sub-Zero's cute face.

Sub-Zero: The winner is me.

Next Time

???: Finally.

???: Let's do this.

Deadpool vs Ryuko Matoi (Marvel vs Kill La Kill)

Connections[]

The similarities between these characters is that they are both the best ice users in their respective universes. They both began training against their will at a young age (Sub-Zero by the Lin Kuei and Shoto by Endeavor). Both have a hatred, then a friendship/alliance with an arrogant fire-user (Hanzo Hisashi/Scorpion for Sub-Zero and Enji Todoroki/Endeavor for Shoto), who share the same English Voice Actor (Patrick Seitz, he didn't voice Scorpion in MK11, only in MK games from MK vs DC to MKX and the animated movies) and both fight speedsters (Kabal and Tenya Iida), but Sub-Zero looses while Shoto wins. Both join with the main character of the series (Liu Kang/Johnny Cage and Izuku Midoriya) and the strongest character in the series (Raiden and All Might) to defeat the conquering villains plans (Shao Kahn's to invade Earthrealm and All For One to destroy the heroes).
