Description[]
RWBY vs. My Hero Academia. They fanatically follow the laws of another with their deadly killing abilities.
Introduction[]
Wiz: When diving into the mind of a psychotic killer, there are always two things to try and find out. Who they wish to kill and what motivates them to.
Boomstick: Like Stain, the Hero Killer and worshiper of All Might.
Wiz: And Tyrian Callows, the scorpion Faunus servant of Salem.
Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Stain[]
Wiz: The pro-hero All Might was everything you'd expect to be of a perfect hero; powerful, noble, heroic and above all else, inspiring.
Boomstick: Some where inspired for the better by All Might's feats of heroism, like Izuku Midoriya and his rival Katsuki Bakugou.
Wiz: But there are some who were inspired for the worst by All Might, and the most infamous of them all was a man named Chizome Akaguro. Wishing to be like All Might, Chizome originally donned the mantle of the vigilante Stendhal, taking out criminals from the shadows.
Boomstick: But as time went by, Chizome came to an epiphany; that it wasn't the villains that were the issue, but other heroes themselves.
Wiz: Specifically, heroes who only wanted to be heroes for the fame and recognition, unlike All Might, whom Chizome believed should be the example all heroes should follow. But for those that don't, they would come to face to face with Chizome in his new persona; the Hero Killer Stain.
- Background
- Age: 31
- AKA Hero Killer, Chizome Akaguro, Stendhal
- Occupation: Vigilante
- Idolizes All Might
- Cut off his own broken nose
Boomstick: A name chosen to remind people of what he does; killing those heroes who stain the image of a true one.
Wiz: That's surprising insightful.
Boomstick: Sure is, also it's probably best for his coolness factor that it's just Stain, rather than Stain Remover. Because like his title implies, he doesn't remove stains from white shirts. He removes heroes from their lives.
Wiz: And thanks to his self-teachings in the arts of combat and assassination Stain proved himself to be pretty effective as this role. He knows several weapon skills and has shown proficiency in the ninja-like stalking of his victims.
Boomstick: Like 70% of the world's population, Stain also has himself his own power, although here they're called Quirks.
Wiz: Stain's Quirk is a particularly scary one, or should I said, 'bloodcurdling' one.
Boomstick: Well, that is what it's called.
- Qurik
- Dubbed Bloodcurdle
- Ingests blood to paralyze foes
- Longest effect range
- Type B-Longest effect
- Type AB-Mid longest effect
- Type A-Mid shortest effect
- Type O-Shortest effect
Wiz: By ingesting or simply tasting another person's blood, Stain is able to paralyze them for a short period of time, leaving them wide open for him to cut them down.
Boomstick: The length of time for which they are paralyzed depends of their blood type. For example, Type B is the longest effect whilst Type O is the shortest. No matter the length of the paralyzing effect however, it's more than enough for Stain to eliminate them.
Popup: The maximum time for someone to be paralyzed, given they have Type B blood, is eight minutes.
Wiz: To this end, Stain focuses nearly his entire fighting style in getting in hits to draw his enemy's blood and has a number of weapons to do so.
- Arsenal
- Katana
- Throwing knives
- Spiked boots
- Folding knives
- Daggers
Boomstick: Like his katana. Sure, it looks a little chipped and under-maintained, but it's still strong enough to cut through ice, so human flesh isn't a problem for it either.
Wiz: Stain also carries several different knives, from throwing to folding to simple daggers, and even has spikes on the ends of his boots.
Boomstick: Imagine playing footsie with this guy. He'd shred your ankles.
Wiz: Oh, that would be the least of your concerns, considering just how dangerous in battle Stain is. He's killed and crippled dozens of pro-heroes during his career, including the super-fast hero Ingenuium.
Boomstick: Which got his brother so riled up, he decided to go out looking for Stain himself.
- Feats
- Cut through Todoroki’s ice
- Dodged Iida’s attack
- Killed several Pro-Heroes
- Took on Midoriya, Iida and Todoroki all at once
- Survived a punctured lung
- Defeated Akira Iwako, Ingenium, Native
Wiz: Due to Iida's path to vengeance, Stain ended up coming into conflict with not just him, but Shouto Todoroki and Izuku Midoriya, the latter of who was chosen by All Might to be his successor thanks to his own heroic drive.
Boomstick: Even Stain thought that the kind had what it took to be a true Pro-Hero, but that didn't mean he went easy on the three of them during their fight.
Wiz: During which, Stain survived a blast of fire to the face, dodged attacks from Iida and even cut through Torodorki's ice. Presuming it's blue ice, the hardest kind of ice there is, then Stain must be capable of cutting with a minimum force of 750 PSI. For reference, it takes just over half that much strength to crush a human skull.
Boomstick: He even remained upright with a punctured lung courtesy of one of his own ribs and went a team of Pro-Heroes came charging to the rescue, he gave them such a terrifying glare he didn't even need to use Bloodcurdle to freeze them in their tracks.
Wiz: But back to his fight with Izuku and the others. Whilst it certainly demonstrated his efficiency in battle, it also showed a key weakness in his fighting style, as it is tailored around one-on-one combat. If there's more than one combatant for him to take on, Stain may not have time to make use of his Bloodcurdle on already effected targets.
Boomstick: But even after being carted off to a super prison, Stain's reign of terror as the Hero Killer was felt far and wide.
Wiz: And the impact it's had on heroes and villains remains to this day.
Tyrian[]
Wiz: Every person on Remnant knows of the Grimm; vicious beasts of darkness drawn to negativity to kill any human or Faunus them come across.
Boomstick: And as it was eventually revealed, the Grimm weren't simply mindless monsters. Turns out, they were being led by a woman named Salem, who'm I'm pretty sure is meant to be the Wicked Witch of the West.
Wiz: But for Salem's Grimm, her immortal enemy Ozpin had his own forces against her, skilled warriors known as Huntsmen and Huntresses. Eager to get rid of these elite warriors, Salem has in her employment several powerful servants for the purpose of taking out those who pose a threat to her plans.
Boomstick: And one of these minions was the scorpion Faunus Tyrian Callows.
- Background
- Age: Mid-Late 30s
- Scorpion Faunus
- Convicted serial killer
- Part of Salem’s inner circle
- First person to swear in RWBY
Wiz: An infamous and well-known serial killer, Tyrian was due to be incarcerated upon his capture, but mysteriously disappeared off the grid on his way to prison. Considering he now works for Salem, it's a safe bet to presume she was responsible. At least until a new volume gives us a concrete backstory, that is.
Boomstick: I dunno, sounds pretty right. I mean it's probably why he looks up to her so much. He even calls her a goddess.
Wiz: A bit of a delusional viewpoint to have for someone who creates monsters that literally swarm to negativity, but Tyrian is clearly a delusional person.
Boomstick: He's pretty much the Carnage of Rooster Teeth and it's reflected in the way he fights with erratic and nimble movements. Try and predict his next movements in a fight, it can't be done!
Wiz: Made all the more deadlier with his small but deadly collection of weapons.
- Arsenal
- The Queen’s Servants
- Arm blades
- Built in guns
- Scorpion Tail
- Poisonous sting
- Replaced with mechanical prosthetic
- The Queen’s Servants
Boomstick: Like the Queen's Servants, a pair of collapsible arm blades with built in guns, perfect for both close and long range combat.
Wiz: And they even go well with his scorpion tail.
Boomstick: Why's that?
Wiz: Because...he's a scorpion Faunus.
Boomstick: Uh-huh.
Wiz: And his blades look like scorpion pincers.
Boomstick: Oh yeah, I see it now. Anyway, Tyrian actually ended up losing his scorpion tail, the tell-tail sign of his Faunus nature, and so got a new one from evil Doctor Watson.
Wiz: Like any scorpion tail, this one can inject a deadly poison into his victim's bloodstream. Given enough time, it would kill anyone. Also, it seems to be slightly corrosive, so if the poisonous factor of the venom doesn't kill you, then the acidic properties will.
Popup: The mechanical tail's venom is likely the same as his original tail's.
- Aura
- Superhuman strength
- Superhuman speed
- Blocks deadly attacks
- Heals minor wounds
- Semblance
- Disrupts other’s Auras
Boomstick: And like the Huntsmen he kills, Tyrian has himself an Aura, a force field made of soul that gives him super strength and speed.
Wiz: And to fight the Huntsmen he kills, Tyrian has himself a Semblance that enables him to disrupt the Aura of whoever he touches, giving him the perfect opportunities to go in for a fatal blow.
- Feats
- Survived hits from Nora Valkyrie
- Outpaced Mercury Black and Ruby Rose
- Killed many Huntsmen
- Caught an arrow in his mouth
- Instinctively blocked sniper rounds
- Defeated Qrow Branwen, Mercury Black, Clover
Boomstick: During his time to serve his 'goddess' Salem, Tyrian's gone up against some of the best huntsmen and huntresses around, like Qrow Branwen and Team RNJR.
Wiz: During one such battle with them, Tyrian was able to use nothing more than his tail to block one of Nora Valkyrie's attacks. According to Kepekley23 on the VS wiki, Nora can attack with a force equivalent to up to 1.41 tons of TNT.
Boomstick: And that was with his original tail, not the cybernetic one made of metal.
Wiz: Tyrian has also battled with Ruby Rose of Team RNJR, who's incredible fast, able to block bullets at a very close range. But without a doubt his most impressive feat was getting Qrow to fight with him against his friend-turned-foe Clover so that they could eventually have a one-on-one battle themselves.
Boomstick: But then Tyrian used that pseudo-alliance to pull a dick move and kill Clover, something Qrow specifically didn't want to do. Oh, and also frame him for the murder.
Wiz: Definitely showing that Tyrian can be a skilled strategist when he wants to be, but most of the time he's easily blinded by his own sadism and blood lust.
Boomstick: And once again, like the Huntsmen he kills, his own Aura is finite and can be witled down with enough damage.
Wiz: Out of all Salem's agents, however, Tyrian is easily the most deadly, something he shows time and time again.
Interlude[]
Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, time to end this debate once and for all.
Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle!
The Battle[]
In the middle of the night, somewhere in a city, a pair of eyes glared out from within a dark alleyway, staring across to the other side of the road in search for a target.
Suddenly, a bus zoomed across the road and once it had passed, a figure wearing a black coat was revealed standing on the street. Piercing yellow eyes picked out the figure in the alleyway and a sinister smirk cut across his face.
Tyrian: Well, well, looks like I've found myself a shady customer.
The eyes in the alleyway narrowed before their owner stepped out into the light.
Stain: And I see another piece of scum that needs to be removed.
FIGHT!
In a single instance, Tyrian tossed aside his coat and Stain drew his sword, before they dashed forward and met in the middle of the street, their respective weapons clashing together. After allowing their weapons to briefly grind together, Stain pushed out with his sword, thrusting away Tyrian's weapon before slashing out at his head. Tyrian dodged his head to the side of the slash before lashing out with a kick that slammed into Stain's ribs before using the same leg to kick Stain in the side of the head. This was the prelude to Tyrian leaping into the air and delivering a double-footed kick into Stain's face, sending him skidding back several steps. In spite of the powerful strike, Stain recovered from the dizziness it inflicted on him and drew out two throwing knives to hurl them towards Tyrian. Tyrian aimed his weapon at the flying projectiles and fired out a series of bullets, the first two colliding with the knives and knocking them out of the air as the rest of them headed straight towards Stain himself. Stain dodged and strafed around the bullets before twisting around to hurl another throwing knife at Stain, who leaped into the air to avoid the dagger, before landing back on the ground and dashing towards Stain. Before the Hero Killer could react, Tyrian seized him by the face and activated his Semblance, intending to remove Stain's Aura.
Only to discover he didn't have any. Tyrian's eyes widened in surprise before Stain glared through his hand and stabbed Tyrian, although his Aura blocked the attack and simply pushed him back. Landing back on his feet, Tyrian was then forced to leap into the air when Stain slashed downwards at him. Tyrian landed on top of a lamppost and stared down at Stain.
Tyrian: Awfully impressive! Never known anyone to fight without an Aura, but with or without one, you won't last long against me.
In a single bound, Tyrian leaped onto the roof of one of the buildings surrounding the two. Stain followed him by leaping between the two walls of an alleyway.
The instance Stain arrived on the roof, he dodged an attack from Tyrian's bladed forearm before blocking a kick aimed at his head. Tyrian then unleashed a barrage of slashes that Stain countered with his own before catching both of Tyrian's blades with his katana when the latter attempted an outwards X attack. Tyrian merely flashed a smile and extended his robotic scorpion tail to dart it at Stain's face, who darted his head to the side at every different tail stab.
At one stab, Stain leaned his head back as the point barely missed his forehead. Stain didn't stop moving back there, resulting in him flipping all the way backwards, in the process kicking upwards with his spiked shoe, catching Tyrian underneath his chin and snapping his head backwards and knocking the Faunus back. Seizing the opportunity to attack, Stain lunged forward and stabbed at Tyrian with his katana. Tyrian, however, lunged his head forward and clamped his teeth down around the sword's point, before twisted it out of Stain's grip and tossing it away. In spite of the surprise at losing his weapon, Stain didn't let himself grow distracted and dodged back from the whirlwind of slashes that Tyrian became in the next instance. Tyrian ended his attack by lashing out with his tail to try and trip up Stain, but the latter somersaulted backwards, drawing out his short dagger after landing in a crouching position. Stain lunged at Tyrian, slashing down at the Faunus, who dodged back from both the first attack and then the second which took the action of a wide outwards swing. When Stain went for a stab, Tyrian seized his hand and pulled him forward, kneeing him in the gut. Tyrian released Stain to let him stumble back before lashing out with his stinger tail in a series of stabs, all of which Stain blocked with his dagger. A forth, however, shattered the dagger. Tyrian grinned as his opponent was disarmed and went for a fifth stab. His smile faded when Stain seized a hold of the tail's end, keeping his fingers away from the stinger. Stain gave off his own smirk before whipped around and spinning Tyrian about by his own tail. As he spun the Faunus, he ended up striking the structure a rooftop access door was built into, face first. With a yell, Stain hurled Tyrian away and onto the roof of the neighboring building.
As his back hit the roof's ground, Tyrian rolled back to his feet as Stain dashed forward, picking his sword back up as he did, and leaped to the other building, but not landing before slashing down at Tyrian. Tyrian blocked the downwards slash by crossing his wrist blades. Stain was pushed back from his blocked attack, landing back on his feet before dashing forward to slash away at Tyrian. Tyrian dodged the attacks, before using his scorpion tail to launch himself into the air as Stain went for another slash. In the air, Tyrian aimed his blades and fired their guns. Stain dodged to the side, but wasn't fast enough to stop some of the bullets rip through his side. Stain let out a roar of anger and pain, and the moment Tyrian landed, Stain charged forward and tackled him off the side of the building, in a tangle of limbs and slashing blades.
Both murderers hit the pavement, leaving a small crater in the ground as the two bounced back from the other.
Now they were both truly angered at the other for dragging out the struggle longer than they both preferred and were eager to finish the fight. Both took a stance, their arms outstretched and weapons poised, Tyrian with the Queen's Servants and Tyrian with his sword and another dagger, before lunging at the other, unleashing a barrage of slashes. Some the other blocked, but some struck their target, Tyrian's drawing blood whilst Stain's chipped away at Tyrian's Aura. As they continued to jab at the other, Tyrian discreetly raised his tail and flicked it, sending a small droplet of purple venom flying through the air to land onto Stain's sword blade. The acidic venom bit through the metal quickly and the blade fell in two mid-swing. But Stain adapted quickly to the wrecked weapon; he released his hold on his sword's handle and seized the half of the blade still in the air, before drawing his leg back and kicking Tyrian in the chest. This strike not only pushed the scorpion Faunus back but also shattered his Aura. Seeing the force field around his foe vanish, Stain hurled the broken piece of sword at Tyrian. The Faunus dodged his head to the side but the sharp piece sliced against his cheek, drawing a cut before it lodged into the wall. On it was a small sliver of blood.
Tyrian spent a brief moment looking at the sword end lodged in the wall before Stain leaped forward, planted his foot on his shoulder and leaped off him and towards the sword, with it's pilfered blood, his tongue extending to lick it up and activate Bloodcurdle. But Tyrian simply smiled.
Tyrian: Time's up.
Just as his tongue was about to lick the blood, Stain felt a shudder course through his body and he collapsed onto his hand and knees.
Stain: W-what?
From his face was spreading a web of purple veins, showing the tell-tale signs of poison. A flashback reveals that when Stain had dodged one of Tyrian's first stinger attacks, he hadn't dodged completed, the tip of the stinger scraping against his forehead, enough to inject a small but potent amount of venom. Now, it was taking action and Stain felt his strength leave him as he tried to climb back to his feet. Tyrian's shadow loomed over him and Stain looked up to see Tyrian grinning down at him with his arms behind his back, before his tail extended and unleashed a hail of pricks all over Stain's body, injecting him with more venom, until Stain was practically swollen with it.
Tyrian: Too bad...
Tyrian tutted at Stain as he finally got back to his feet swaying from the poison.
Tyrian: We could've made great friends.
Tyrian lashed out one last time with his stinger tail, piercing straight through Stain's face and head before it was pulled out in a shower of brain matter, blood chunks and blood. Now lacking a face, Stain's body fell forward onto the ground.
KO!
Stain's body, bleeding blood tinged with purple with venom, lay on the ground as Tyrian vanished into the night.
Outcome[]
Boomstick: Looks like Scorpion isn't the only one around with a deadly stabbing technique.
Wiz: Both Stain and Tyrian were incredibly deadly killers and fighters but in a fight between such blood-thirsty superhumans with deadly killing abilities, both only needed one clear hit to do the other in.
Boomstick: For Tyrian, it was thanks to his venomous stinger tail and for Stain, he could use his Bloodcurdle to paralyze Tyrian, leaving him wide open for a kill. So the question was, who could get the first hit in?
Wiz: Therefir on the VS wiki found that Todoroki's ice, which Stain could dodge, moves at Mach 1. Kepekley23 meanwhile, found that Ruby Rose, who Tyrian battled against, could move and react at Mach 18. Simply put, Tyrian was far faster than Stain.
Popup: Tenya Iida, who Stain also fought against, was able to reach speeds of over Mach 1, proven by his own feat of dodging Todoroki's ice. Since Stain was unable to react fast enough to his new level of speed, it shows he is firmly at Mach 1 speeds only.
Boomstick: And could easily get in his fatal hit first before Stain could.
Wiz: It also helps that Tyrian was covered head to toe in Aura, which could block fatal blows as small as the various knives that Stain used. Even if he was fast enough to somehow tag Tyrian, he wouldn't be able to actually draw blood from Tyrian, whilst he had no defense against the Faunus' poison, aside from his overwhelming determination that is.
Boomstick: And what also helps is that Stain's ice shredding ability doesn't really stack up to someone strong enough to block attacks that pack enough power to level a building.
Popup: Even though Tyrian's venom appeared to be slow acting, his speed meant he could either inflicted numerous strikes on Stain to speed up the poison or simply outlast him until a single injection killed him.
Wiz: Stain was certainly worthy of his title of Hero Killer, but Tyrian's deadly venom, superior speed and steady defenses made him the greater killer.
Boomstick: All because Tyrian made use of Cal-low moves.
Wiz: The winner is Tyrian Callows.

Trivia[]
- Connections: Both are psychotic killers who have battled against those who defend society (Huntsmen and Pro-Heroes respectively). Furthermore, both use blades in battle, have unique abilities to render their targets vulnerable (Stain can paralyze others with Bloodcurdle and Tyrian can depower another's aura), and hold a certain person in high esteem; (All Might and Salem, respectively).
- Animation Style: 2D.
- OST Idea: 'Sting of Stain', referring to Stain's own name and Tyrian's scorpion tail.
