Death Battle[]

The sun rose over Bikini Atoll, starting the day. Normally, down at Conch Street, Squidward Tentacles would have been woken up by his neighbor, SpongeBob SquarePants, by now, whether it be from his obnoxious laughter or his foghorn alarm going off. But oddly enough, that didn't happen today. His stingy boss, Mr. Krabs, sure as hell didn't call him in to get his ass to work either. And the weirdest part was today wasn't Sunday, which was his only day off. Because of all these, Squidward unknowingly slept in. Not that he would've complained, though. At one point, he woke up (sorta) to get a glass of water, but as soon as his half-lidded eyes glanced at the clock, that's when he knew:

"Oh, great, I'm late for work."

Trivia[]

  • The connections between Squidward and Cthulhu are that they are cephalopods whose origins come from deep, distant locations in the days before human life arose (Squidward had a caveman ancestor called Squog who lived in the primitive ocean, and Cthulhu is the leader of the Old Ones, which are species from the stars above). They live at the bottom of the sea and hold intense hatred for people (SpongeBob and Patrick, and the sailors) that want to interrupt their peace (Squidward wants company to himself, and Cthulhu wants to rest). They are despised for what they do (everybody in Bikini Bottom hates Squidward for his "bad" art, and Cthulhu is despised for destroying cities). While not as powerful as their peers when it comes to strength (SpongeBob and Patrick, and the Old Ones), they are ridiculously hard to put down, with both regenerating from anything they get put through. Spending their days wanting to be left alone, they are infamous for getting hurt by smaller things (Squidward's sofa and an incoming boat), but not as much as having the dreaded ability to make others go insane by their mere presence (Squidward's clarinet tunes and staring into Cthulhu). They are represented by being embodiments of negative emotions (Squidward is based on wrath, which is one of the seven deadly sins, and Cthulhu strikes fear in those who have somehow survived his...wrath). They have been hunted down at some point (The Bikini Bottomites stalked Squidward when he was handsome, and Johansen bursting through Cthulhu's body) only to end up on top at the end (Everybody found Squidward ugly after his face reverted to normal, causing them to leave him alone, and Cthulhu driving Briden insane). They exist everywhere you go, even when it comes to concepts (Squidward created jellyfishing at the beginning of time, and the Old Ones transcend the concept of death).
