Sousuke Sagara was born in Afghanistan to a Japanese father and an Afghan mother. Growing up in that war-torn country, he joined a guerrilla movement, and learned a great deal about warfare. Later he was recruited to the private military organization Mithril, and he rose to the rank of sergeant.
