Description[]
Sega vs Capcom. The true blue robot breaking heroes of peace and justice face off for the title of worlds greatest hero. But is it the Hedgehog or the Reploid whose power will shine brighter?
Interlude[]
Mega: They're two of the most iconic heroes in all of retro gaming history. Champions of justice, defenders of the innocent.
Soul: Slayers of evil robots, owners of horrid fandoms, and franchise rivals sense the 90's.
Mega: Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega's supercharged Fastest Thing Alive.
Soul: And Mega Man X, Capcom's number one Maverick Hunter.
Soul: He's Mega and I'm Soul!
Mega: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Sonic[]
Mega: Off in another dimension, in a world strikingly similar to our own, humanity exists in peace with anthropomorphic animal people. However, everything would change one day when the nefarious Doctor Eggman began his quest for the Chaos Emeralds.
Soul: Seven magical gemstones of mystical power, which would allow him to conquer the world and build the ultimate Eggman Empire. But everything changed when the Doc came along one speedy blue rodent.
Mega: This is Sonic the Hedgehog.
Sonic: Background[]
- Full Name: Sonic the Hedgehog
- Age: 16
- Height: 3'3" | 100 cm
- Weight: 77 lb | 35 kg
- Species: Hedgehog
- Birthplace: Christmas Island
- Likes: Chili Dogs & Break Dancing
- Not a skilled swimmer
Mega: Sonic was born on Christmas Island with the gift of superhuman speed and a sense of adventure to match. Traveling the world, the Hedgehog arrived at South Island around the same time as Eggman, and wound up foiling the doctors scheme to unearth the Emeralds by turning the island's inhabitants into machines.
Soul: Beginning a rivalry fit to last almost three decades. Despite his scrawny appearance, Sonic is ridiculously tough. The guy can breathe in space, slam through giant mechs made of solid steel and has survived being dropped from orbit, multiple times!
Mega: Sonic is also surprisingly clever. He's great at assessing an enemy’s weakness and striking at it or picking apart their attack partner to exploit an opening. But of course, Sonic’s most valuable asset is his speed.
Soul: The Blue Blur can easily move fast enough to outrun lightning, but more impressively, catch Cyan Laser Wisps and almost outrun a singularity, putting him at well over 200 Million Miles Per Hour. E-123 Omega claims that he can even surpass Lightspeed.
Mega: While Sonic hasn’t been able to break lightspeed in his base form, at least not without the use of his Light Speed Dash and Light Speed Attack, he has come close. Like with the time he briefly outraced a singularity of Hyper Go-On energy.
Soul: That’s a stupid name-
Mega: And Sonic himself claims that even he thinks that lightspeed is too slow for him. While he likely can’t surpass lightspeed currently, it’s reasonable to assume that one day he can. Additionally, Sonic often combines his speed with natural strength and abilities to perform some truly insane feats.
Soul: Like his famous Spin-Dash and Sonic Boost, where he charges forwards to tear through opponents.
Sonic: Powers & Arsenal[]
- God-like Speed
- Superhuman Strength & Durability
- Self Taught Martial Arts
- Spin Dash
- Homing Attack
- Sonic Boost
- Light Speed Dash/Attack
- Bounce Bracelet
- Shields
- Normal, Flame, Aqua, Thunder, Invincibility
- Chaos Emeralds
- Chaos Control
- Chaos Regeneration
- Sonic Wind
- Super Transformations
Mega: Sonic can lock onto and bounce off enemies with his physics defying homing attack, bounce around like a rubber ball of doom with the Bounce Bracelet, and as we mentioned before, briefly move and attack at Lightspeed with his Lightspeed Dash and Lightspeed Attack. Plus, he’s trained himself in martials arts, and knows a variety of close range combat skills.
Soul: Plus, Sonic has a bunch of special shields that can protect him from elemental attacks like fire, water, and electricity. That water shield in particular must come in handy because it lets him breath underwater. Useful, given he still can’t freaking swim.
Mega: Sonic can also draw energy from the Chaos Emeralds, and by combining their power with his own, Sonic can channel its energy into attacks like the Sonic Wind, or more notably, Chaos Control.
Soul: With Chaos Control, Sonic can teleport himself and other objects, pause time, heal wounds, revive the dead, and even open up portals to the past and other dimensions. Hell, he could pull Chaos Control off with a fake Emerald!
Mega: And when Sonic utilizes all Seven Chaos Emeralds, he can ascend and become the golden Super Sonic.
Sonic: Super Forms[]
- Super Sonic
- Massive Power Boost
- Nearly invulnerable
- Faster Than Light speed
- Positive Energy Aura
- Arrow of Light
- Energy Shield
- Super Sonic Missile
- Limited Duration
- Hyper Sonic
- Has all of Super Sonic's abilities
- Totally invincible
- Faster & Stronger than Super Sonic
- Hyper Flash
Mega: As Super Sonic, Sonic can fly, move at speeds thousands of times faster than Light, breathe underwater, and is nearly incurable to almost all forms of attack. He can charge himself with Chaos Energy to turn himself into a living Missile, or even an Arrow of Light,
Soul: Plus, he can create energy barriers to reflect attacks and has a positive energy aura that can purify corrupt and raging entities like Perfect Chaos. Only downside is that it’s got a time limit, and like most things that are unbelievably god-like, it’s got a time limit and can only last a few minutes unless he’s constantly recharging his power with Rings.
Mega: But even a short period of time is still a long time to his opponents. Super Sonic has beaten raging deities capable of destroying planets like Chaos and Dark Gaia with little effort, and with help from similarly powerful allies, has beaten universal foes like Solaris and the Time Eater. While this doesn’t make Super Sonic universal, given he has needed help, it still puts him at Multi-Solar System levels of power output.
Soul: Not to mention he can push it even further to the galaxy busting Hyper Sonic, who’s faster, stronger, and tougher than Super Sonic. Plus, he comes with an all new screen nuke ability, the Hyper Flash! In a blinding flash of light, this blast of Chaos Energy can destroy everything in its path!
Sonic: Feats[]
- Resisted mental control from the Overmind & Dark Gaia
- Survived re-entry & terminal velocity
- Teleported the 15 mile wide Ark colony
- Outran a pseudo-black hole for 30 seconds
- Outfought Eggman, Metal Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, & Silver
- Delt massive damage to Dark Gaia
- Beat Perfect Chaos & Ultimate Emerl in base form
- Defeated Infinite, Biolizard, Nega Mother Wisp, Time Eater, & Solaris
Mega: Sonic has managed to outfight equally skilled combatants like Metal Sonic, Knuckles, and fellow hedgehogs Shadow, & Silver, and even has outwitted Eggman plenty of times. He and Shadow were able to teleport the enormous Space Colony ark, which weighs over fifteen million tons.
Soul: Hell, Shadow lifted the Black Comet in his Super Form, which weighs over Nine Hundred and Fifteen Millions tons!
Mega: Sonic has resisted mild control from two separate deities, and was able to beat the planet busting Perfect Chaos and Ultimate Emeral, and even Infinite, who was capable of creating stars.
Soul: Not to mention the numerous out of control gods who’ve fallen to Super Sonic’s power. Sonic may have his weaknesses, like his inability to swim, limited durations on his Super Forms, and generally being pretty cocky, but there’s not much that can keep him down.
Mega: Sonic may be cocky and thrill-seeking, but he’s also arguably one of the pure-hearted and honest heroes to ever exist. Wherever there’s trouble and the Eggman has come to hatch another vile scheme, you can always count on Sonic the Hedgehog to save the day, as fast as he can.
Mega Man X[]
Mega: In the year 20XX, the endless feud between Albert Wily and Thomas Light was reaching its conclusion. As Wily put everything he had into creating the ultimate Maverick of destruction, Light tried to revolutionize the world.
Soul: So the old man put his heart and soul into creating a robot so advanced, he could think, feel, and even act as freely as a human. Doctor Light created the ultimate symbol of peace and unity: Mega Man X.
Mega: And to ensure X would use his gifts for the right reasons, he was subject to 30 years of morality testing...which soon became 100.
Mega Man X: Background[]
- Name: Mega Man X
- Age: Over 200 years
- Height: 5’5 / 165 cm
- Weight: 125.4 lbs / 57 kg
- Species: Reploid
- Created by Dr. Thomas Light
- Eventually became a Cyber Elf & a Biometal
Mega: One century later, the archaeologist Doctor Cain just so happened to find Doctor Light’s lab while digging for some fossilized plants, and found X was still pretty much top of line technology in both power and mind.
Soul: So Cain did the only logical thing and built a bunch more of them, dubbing them all Reploids. They were the perfect companions for humans in a technologically advanced future...and then they turned evil.
Mega: Be it from a glitch in their programming, their own free will, or a devious virus, Maverick Reploids began turning on their human companions. To combat the rising threat, the Maverick Hunters were established and led by Sigma to protect innocent humans and reploids.
Soul: And then he went Maverick too after finding a Reploid named Zero. Despite Sigma and a bunch of other Maverick Hunters going bad, X gained a friend and mentor in Zero, and the two set off to take Sigma down.
Mega Man X: Arsenal[]
- X-Buster
- Z-Saber
- Dash & Wall Jump
- Variable Weapons System
- Projectiles
- Boomerang Cutter, Tornado Fang, Moving Wheel, Yammer Twin Slasher, Spin Wheel, Sonic Slicer, etc.
- Explosives
- Green Spinner, Sniper Missile, Parasitic Bomb, Homing Torpedo, etc.
- Elemental Weapons
- Fire Wave, Shotgun Ice, Storm Tornado, Speed Burner, Rising Fire, Frost Tower, Triad Thunder, Double Cyclone, Meteor Rain, Volt Tornado, Melt Creeper, Magma Blade etc.
- Barriers
- Rolling Shield, Gaea Shield, Crystal Wall, Guard Shell, etc.
- Miscellaneous
- Chameleon Sting, Aiming Laser, Strike Chain, Ray Arrow, Gravity Well, Dark Hold, Soul Body, Hadoken, Shoryuken, etc.
- Projectiles
Mega: The X Buster is X’s go to weapon for most combat scenarios. By charging up compressed solar energy, he can fire basic energy pellets or powerful charged shots that can tear through other Reploids with ease. And when Zero is incapacitated, X also wields his friends Z-Saber, a plasma sword which can slice through Reploids and launch energy waves from it.
Soul: Plus, X is super fast and tough. He can dodge light speed lasers and can take hits from the General, who stopped a planet busting laser with his own body. But X’s real bread and butter is his special weapons.
Mega: With the Variable Weapons System, X wields an assortment of different weapons and abilities that have a variety of uses. He has multiple weapons that can manipulate fire, ice, wind, and lightning.
Soul: He’s got a ton of homing and heat-seeking rockets, sticky bombs, numerous shields like the Rolling Shield and Crystal Wall, numerous other projectiles like his Aiming Laser, Boomerang Cutter, Sonic Slicer, and even legendary moves like the HADOKEN and SHORYUKEN!
Mega: X can duplicate himself with Soul Body, crush his foes with Gravity Well, fire out localized singularities with the Squeeze Bomb, and even stop time with the Dark Hold. Of course, the obvious downside to all these special weapons is that they run on limited ammo, and he can only use his Buster and Saber indefinitely.
Soul: And should X’s weapons not be enough, he’s got various other armors for a variety of different situations in a fight.
Mega Man X: Armors[]
- Light Armor
- Reduced Damage
- Spiral Charged Shot
- Max Armor
- Duel Charge Shot
- Air Dash
- Personal Shield
- Minor Healing
- Hyper Chip
- Ultimate Armor
- Plasma Shot
- Flight
- Unlimited Weapon Ammo
- Nova Strike
Mega: Most of X's armors share similar features, reducing his defense, increasing his speed, and allowing him to charge special weapons. As such, most of them tend to have one or two single distinct features.
Soul: The Light Armor grants X a mighty spiraling charge shot, definitely one of my favorites.
Mega: The Max Armor is certainly one of X's more unique armors, featuring a built in energy shield, a healing chip, the ability to dash through the air in any direction, and the ability to fire charged shots from his two busters on both arms.
Soul: And with the Hyper Chip, the Max Armor is pushed to its absolute limits and beyond them. Plus it turns the armor gold, the objective best color for a power up if Sonic and Goku have taught us anything.
Mega: But when X needs to fight at his absolute best, he dawns his Ultimate Armor. The armor allows X to fly, grants him unlimited special weapons energy, and reduces damage the most out of any armor.
Soul: Plus he can use his ultimate attack, the invincible flying tackle known as the NOVA STRIKE!
Mega: Certainly an impressive arsenal of weapons and armors.
Mega Man X: Armors[]
- Matched Zero & Sigma repeatedly
- Dodged Optic Sunflower's FTL lasers
- Restored entire body from his core
- Fought and won a century long war
- Outfought Vile, Double, Nightmare Zero, and Gate
- Beat General, who stopped a planet-destroying beam
- Defeated Sigma, Lumine, Zero, Omega
Mega: X has matched both Zero and Sigma numerous times in battle, survived having his entire body obliterated, then regenerated from his core, and fought through and won a century long war by himself.
Soul: He’s outfought Vile, Bit & Byte, a nightmare copy of Zero...roll with it, and the evil robo-scientists Gate and Lumine.
Mega: Lumine in particular is noteworthy for being capable of generated pocket dimensions inside them, and even then X was still able to beat him. But most impressive of all, after tSigma had perished for good and the evil Doctor Weil enacted the Elf-Wars with the corrupted Dark Elf, X fought against a Maverick who had stolen Zero’s body named Omega, who’s very presence on the planet opened up gateways to the pocket-world Cyberspace.
Soul: X may dislike violence, but he sure as hell won’t hesitate to fight the unjust..well, except for the one-time when he did, but we don’t talk about that. Eventually, X went on to found the city of Neo Arcadia, a land where peace between humans and reploids could finally be enacted.
Mega: At least until he had to give up his physical form so it could seal the Dark Elf, and then an evil copy of himself took over the city. But be it as a spirit guiding an old friend from the sidelines or passing his powers down to the hero he’s chosen as a successor, Mega Man X will always fight for justice, no matter the cost.
DEATH BATTLE![]
Mega: Alright the combatants are set, it's time to end this debate once and for all.
Soul: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!
(Maverick Hunter HQ)
“Intruder alert! Intruder alert! Security breach at Gate 3! Intruder has been located in the north quadrant, and is moving in the direction of the science lab. All units prepare to engage: basic emergency battle formations. Standard battle formations initiated. Locate and stop the intruder from reaching the security area. This is not a drill. Repeat; this is not a drill.”
Mega Man X runs through the halls of the Maverick Hunters headquarters as the voice of one of the Navigators rings over the base's intercom, the blue-clad Hunter hurrying to confront the intruder. Running into one of the base's larger hangers coming face to face with a blue humanoid Hedgehog kicking a couple lower-rank Hunters aside, causing X to raise the X-Buster at him.
Mega Man X: Hey! Stop right there!
The Blue Hedgehog turns to face X, positioning himself so he can take off and charge the Maverick Hunter should he need too. The two stare down, emerald green eyes locking for both fighters.
Sonic: I know you guys have the Chaos Emeralds. Hand em’ over, or I’m taking them by force.
Mega Man X: Chaos Emeralds...sorry, but I can’t do that.
Cue Mega Man X: Opening Stage (SSBU Mix)
And with that, both characters charged forwards, X dashing towards the intruder as Sonic runs at full speed ahead.
Sonic strikes first, throwing a quick kick at the Reploids face before he barraged him with a speedy onslaught of attacks, sending X backwards as he fires out shots from the X-Buster that the Blue Hedgehog zips around to avoid before he suddenly appears in X’s face and punches him.
Sonic: Ha! Catch me if you can!
The Blue Blur speeds ahead again and throws a quick jab that X dodges, avoiding the attack and punching Sonic in the face before he leaps backwards and fires the X-Buster to blast Sonic away. The Blue Blur spins in the air and Homing Attacks forwards, flying straight for X as the Maverick Hunter pulls the Gaea Shield out and Sonic bounces off of it.
Sonic performs the Homing Attack again, repeatedly smashing into the Gaea Shield before it shatters, only for X to blast Sonic with the Storm Tornado to throw him through a wall. X leaps forwards and fires a Homing Missile at the Hedgehog, with Sonic taking off running to avoid getting blown up as X fires more after him.
Turning around, Sonic smirks as he gets down in a running man position and begins charging up a Spin-Dash before he zips ahead and past the rockets, which cash into each other trying to track Sonic, and slams into X’s to send the Maverick Hunter into a wall. Sonic wastes no time as he leaps into the air before he begins smashing himself into X with the bounce bracelet repeatedly.
X grunts as he hits Sonic with the Rising Fire, blasting the Hedgehog backwards as he gets up and shoots out the Fire Wave. Sonic leaps to avoid it before X shoots a big fireball, seemingly cornering Sonic…
Before the Blue Blur emerges with his Fire Shield, running straight through the Fire Wave and hitting X with his speeding fire dash attack.
Mega Man X: What the-?
Sonic: What’s the matter, can’t keep up?
Zipping ahead, Sonic shoulder-slams X to break the Reploid’s guard, throwing several high-speed punches. X grunts and step back, headbutting Sonic hard enough to dissipate the fire shield before he sends Sonic flying backwards with a blast from the X-Buster.
Firing out a bolt of lightning with the Electric Spark, Sonic steps back to avoid one attack only to let out a yelp when a second one hits him. X runs forwards and roundhouse kicks Sonic back, and in return the blue hedgehog pops open the Electric Shield.
Now free to run through the Electric Spark, Sonic lands a few good hits on X before the Reploid brings out the Triad Thunder, but even it’s attacks just bounce off the Electric Shield. Smirking, Sonic starts throwing a rapid series of jabs and backs X into a corner before he suddenly gets shot back by the Chameleon Sting, destroying the Electric Shield. Taking the open opportunity, X dashes forwards and punches Sonic through a wall and into the opposite wall of another room…
Where the Chaos Emeralds sat suspended in the middle of the room by a containment field. They were in the science lab!
Sonic: The Chaos Emeralds!
Mega Man X: No!
Sonic prepares to leap forwards as X charges up his Buster, and fires the Charge Shot as Sonic lunges forwards, hand extended out for the Chaos Emeralds.
KA-BOOM!
Cue Sonic Generations: Crisis City Modern
The middle of the room explodes and fills with smoke, X covering his eyes for a moment before waving it away. Everything is quiet for a moment before there’s a sudden power-spike, an aura of golden energy exploding outwards as X is suddenly sent flying backwards through several walls, just barely activating the Light Armor in time to protect himself.
Super Sonic: NOW I’LL SHOW YOU, HIYAAAAAA!!!
In a blinding golden light, Super Sonic slams into X and begins barraging the Reploid Hero with a series of lightspeed punches before kicking him backwards, charging a spin-dash up before he let loose, flying forwards and kicking X in the back to send him upwards before flying above him, smashing him back into the ground.
X gets back up, charging up his Buster and firing the Spiral Charged Shot at Super Sonic, who creates an energy shield to block it. The Golden Hedgehog lowers the shield, only for Max Armor X to leap forwards and swing the Z-Saber to send him flying backwards.
Air Dashing after Super Sonic, X fires his Double Charged Shot before throwing a wave of energy from the Z-Saber, Super Sonic grunting as he blocks both attacks before he gets head-rammed by the Charged Speed Burner.
Landing on his feet, X throws a punch that Super Sonic grabs and promptly crushes, causing X to let out a yell of pain before his opponent speaks.
Super Sonic: Chaos Control!
In a bright flash, the two fighters warped to another location, a grassy field with a bright blue sky. The Green Hill Zone. X looks around for a bit before he turns back to Sonic, forming the Max Armor’s shield around it as Super Sonic rolls his eyes.
Mega Man X: I don’t care what kind of power you have now. I will defeat you, and take the Chaos Emeralds back- AH!!
Super Sonic suddenly cuts X off, specifically by punching him hard enough to shatter the Armor's shield and nearly obliterate the Max Armor itself, sending X hurling backwards through several mountains. Super Sonic sighs and turns away as he speaks to himself
Super Sonic: Well, that was too easy.
When X suddenly leaps forwards again, firing several homing rockets from his different missile weapons, Super Sonic begins flying back and forth to avoid them as X begins firing Sonic Slicers, Boomerang Cutters, Chameleon Stings, and Tornado Fangs, with Super Sonic quickly becoming irritated by all the projectiles.
Super Sonic: Okay, THAT’S IT!
Raising his hands, Super Sonic charges up some Chaos Energy and throws out the Super Sonic Wind, dispelling the different projectiles before they could hit him, but also causing X to suddenly fade away, leaving a confused Hedgehog.
Cue Mega Man X5: X vs Zero (GaMetal Remix)
That’s because the “X” that Sonic had seen was a replica, one made with Soul Body. And with it distracting Sonic, the real Mega Man X had enough time to heal himself and activate the Max Armor’s Hyper Chip. Charging both his Busters, X aims at Super Sonic-
Mega Man X: Hyper Buster Engaged!
-And fired the duel charged shot straight at him before raising the Z-Saber. Super Sonic turns to see the blast heading straight for him, and quickly pauses time with Chaos Control. The Charged Shot slows down as Super Sonic floats past, flying straight for X as he winds up another punch.
However, X tightens his grip on the Z-Saber and breaks through the Chaos Control with his Dark Hold, the two time stops canceling each other out as the Super Sonic Missile and Z-Saber meet, which causes a massive explosion that echoes all throughout the Green Hill Zone.
Taking off, Super Sonic kicks X into the air, but thanks to the Hyper Chip, X is able to suspend himself in the air and blast Sonic with the lock-on Aiming Laser, forcing Super Sonic to block the attack before he flies in close and hits him a few times with the Z-Saber, knocking the Hedgehog backwards before he fires the Magma Blade.
Super Sonic flips before stopping in mid-air before he tucks into ball form and begins charging up, X spawning more Soul Body clones as they all begin taking aim at Super Sonic. They all fire their Charged Shots
Super Sonic: Blast Away!
And in a sudden flash of golden light, began taking X’s Soul Body clones out with the Light Speed Attack. With a quick series of strikes, Super Sonic turns to X and lunges at him, a blue aura enveloping him as he taps into his Arrow of Light technique, slamming into X and dragging him across the ground and through mountains before he spins around and throws the Reploid into the ground hard enough to break the ground.
Flying down into the caverns under Green Hill, Super Sonic quickly breaks a couple ring monitors before grabbing a large power ring, using them to recharge his energy. X suddenly gets up, raising an arm as the Hyper Armor is overtaken by his final Armor, the Ultimate Armor.
Mega Man X: That’s it. I’m ending this.
Super Sonic: Now it’s time to get serious!
X leaps forwards while dodging a punch from Super Sonic, upercutting him with the Raising Fire before he takes off with the Nova Strike, slamming into Sonic’s gut and flying them both straight into orbit. As they do, Sonic begins glowing as he Gold fur turns a pure Silver, launching X back as Hyper Sonic stands before him.
Cue Sonic Forces: Death Egg Robot Phase 3
The final battle had begun.
Moving forwards, X throws the first punch as he literally tries to punch Hyper Sonic in the face, Sonic barely budging as he sends X flying backwards with a quick jab. X turns and begins flying, Hyper Sonic chasing after him before X turns around and fires on the Hedgehog with a few weaker attacks before he fires the Plasma Shot, blasting Hyper Sonic down into the surface of the moon.
Getting back up, Sonic charges up a Spin-Dash and rockets forwards, flying through space before slamming into X...only for the Reploid to vanish as Sonic realizes he’s surrounded by Soul Body clones that fire the charged Aiming Laser at him and forcing the Hyper Hedgehog to shield himself.
Hyper Sonic: Hyper Flash!
Charging up Chaos Energy, Hyper Sonic thrusts his arms out and releases a large energy explosion out from himself, blasting all the clones away as X shields himself with the Charged Rolling Shield, which lasts long enough before it breaks as X fires a beam of ice to freeze Sonic.
Sonic breaks free from the ice as X flies in close and hits him with the Z-Saber a few times before he counters and lands a few quick labs on X, punching him backwards and firing out a blast of energy.
Firing a charged shot to counter it, the two begin zipping around and trading attacks as Hyper Sonic throws a series of kicks that X parries with the Z-Saber. Moving to the size, X fires the Ray Arrow to blast Sonic a few times before he charges up and fires the Squeeze Bomb.
Hyper Sonic gasps as he gets pulled towards the singularity, and responds by throwing a Sonic Wind into it. The singularity charges up, and then explodes, sending Sonic flying backwards and crashing into the moon’s surface, again.
Hyper Sonic: Not again…
Mega Man X: HIYAAAAAA!!
Hyper Sonic looks up as X dives straight at him, slamming into him with the Nova Strike and sending both of them flying through the moon and out the other side before kicking Sonic away. Spawning another set of Soul Body Clones, the fakes fly ahead as X begins charging up the Ultimate X-Buster attack.
The Soul Body Clones fly in and begin firing different special weapons, Sniper Missiles, Homing Torpedoes, Storm Tornado’s, Sonic Slicers, Fire Waves, and Hyper Sonic forms a shield to counter them before he flies forwards and speed-kicks the fakes away. One raises it’s arm and grabs Sonic’s arm with the Strike Chain, and in response, Sonic pulls it closer and punches it hard enough to shatter.
The last two of the X-Clones fly up together and use meteor rain to fire numerous water-based meteors at Sonic, which freeze due to being the vacuum of space. Stretching his arms out, Hyper Sonic dashes through the Meteor Rains and breaks the last two, then stakes off for the real X.
Cue Sonic Adventure 2: Super Transformation
Mega Man X: NOVA BUSTER!!
Hyper Sonic powers up and charges straight at X, becoming the Arrow of Light as he flies straight into the Nova Buster, both struggling as Sonic continues pushing against the giant beam. X pushes harder, seeming to overtake Sonic…
Before a pure white aura emanates from Hyper Sonic as he flies straight through the beam, drawing his hand back as he throws a punch, ripping straight through X’s torso as he comes out the other side.
Hyper Sonic: Eat THIS!!
Forming a white orb in his hand, Sonic quickly turns around and fires his Hyper Flash out as a straight beam, which flies forwards and completely incinerates X. Lowering his hand and letting out a relaxed sigh, Sonic then grins as he stares out at the particle dust that once was Mega Man X.
Cue Sonic the Hedgehog (2006): Mission Clear
Hyper Sonic: Phew! That was incredible!
Conclusion[]
Cue Sonic Adventure 2: Live and Learn (Instrumental)
Soul: You aren’t wrong Sonic, that certainly was incredible!
Mega: This match was incredibly close. Honestly, if we’d run through several more scenarios, X certainly could’ve won almost 45% of the time.
Soul: But on Death Battle, 45% isn’t gonna cut it. We’re looking for who’s got the best odds of victory most often.
Mega: Now, X certainly did have a much larger arsenal then Sonic, plus more overall combat experience. At first glance it’s easy to assume his enormous and varied arsenal could simply overwhelm Sonic, but to our surprise, Sonic had perfect counters to a ton of X’s weapons.
Soul: Sonic’s shields could counter many of X’s own, and even flat out negate X’s elemental Special Weapons. The Z-Saber wasn’t a good option because Sonic has fought other sword-users before, and even many other of X’s weapons were simply too predictable for Sonic. Rockets, Tornados, Black Holes, none of them could surprise the Blue Blur. And hell, both of them could Stop Time.
Mega: Granted, many of Sonic’s own abilities weren’t too new to X either, particularly his Time Stop, Sonic Wind, and Spin-Dash, but not to the same degree as Sonic’s counters to his own weapons. Now, X did get a brief leg up with his Armors, particularly the Gold and Ultimate ones. In theory, X could have stalled the fight out with them, as he was stronger then the Star Level Sonic. just as fast as him, and could even heal his own injuries.
Soul: But then Super Sonic came in, massively faster then any of X’s armors and way stronger.
Mega: Right. X may have beaten the Multi-Solar System level Omega, who’s very presence on Earth tore holes in reality to Cyberspace, remember that X needed help from the stronger Zero to defeat him. Super Sonic was already capable of proving himself stronger and faster then even Ultimate Armor X, and that was without his Hyper Form, which widens the stats even more.
Soul: And sure, Sonic’s augmented states run a time limit, but Sonic can always recharge them with power rings, and hell, as Hyper Sonic, he’s strong enough to rip X apart without having to worry about that.
Mega: It’s certainly not impossible for X to wait for Hyper Sonic to run out of rings, but when the Blue Blur was Faster, Stronger, Tougher, and could negate most of his arsenal, X simply didn’t have what it takes to put Sonic down.
Soul: X just didn’t Rock hard enough in this fight, Man.
Mega: Is that really the best you can do?
Soul: Well how about this, Sonic just had the variables he needed to Chaos Bust X in the end.
Mega: Or I guess you could say that when it came to mascots, Sega did what CapCan't.
Soul: Hey, not bad.
Mega: The winner is Sonic the Hedgehog.
Next Time[]
"I'll crush you in 5 seconds flat!
"Where did such a bratty human learn this power?
