Description[]

Sonic the Hedgehog vs. Skylanders. Blue streaks going by faster than nearly anyone else.

Introduction[]

Wiz: We've discussed the ability of super speed for many of our combatants, but it is still a well known fact that the only ones who can truly master this physical aspect is those with a righteous and adventurous drive.

Boomstick: Like Sonic the Hedgehog, the Blue Blur and Freedom Fighter.

Wiz: And Spitfire, the fiery racer turned leader of the SuperChargers.

Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Sonic[]

Boomstick: "Gotta go fast!"

Wiz: "Sonic!"

Boomstick: "Gotta go fast!"

Wiz: "Sonic!"

Boomstick: "Gotta go faster, faster, faster-faster-faster!" Good god that's a catchy song.

Wiz: Certainly is. Not surprising, considering the series it was inspired by had music allegedly produced by Michael Jackson. But enough about music trivia, we need to focus on our combatant.

Boomstick: The one, the only, Sonic the Hedgehog. "The fastest thing alive!"

  • Background
    • Age: 15
    • Height: 3'3
    • AKA: The Blue Blur
    • Rivals to Knuckles, Shadow, Blaze, Mario
    • Mascot for Sega
    • Weakness: water

Wiz: The exact origins of Sonic the Hedgehog are a bit of an enigma. In canon it was said that he was born on Christmas Island on the 23rd of June, a rather odd date for a place themed after a December Holiday.

Boomstick: But we do have a rather solid grasp on his meta-origin.

Wiz: In order for Sega to compete in the console wars with their rival company Nintendo, they needed a mascot that had a bit of a different personality to Nintendo's powerful plumper Mario. One with a radical attitude to appeal to kids.

Boomstick: That was how Sonic the Blue Blur came to be created.

Wiz: Did it work? Well, it was a mixed result. Nintendo firmly won the console wars but now Sega had themselves a recognizable and iconic mascot.

Boomstick: We're spending quite a bit of time on the real world information on Sonic.

Wiz: Agreed, so let's get back on topic.

Boomstick: Basically, Sonic's world is under constant threat from the mad genius of Doctor Eggman, and Sonic is often the one called on to crack that egg.

Wiz: All thanks to his incredible speed.

Boomstick: Which is apparently something all hedgehogs possess. Surprising, considering a whole lot get squashed by cars in the world. But that's something Sonic never needs to worry about, because he's way to fast for something like a car to get him, having a level of speed far surpassing most others of his kind.

Wiz: Sonic is fast enough to dodge lightning and meteors, catch an alien wisp capable of flying into orbit, and outrun the pull of a black hole, meaning he would of have to be running at about 37% the speed of light.

Popup: Sonic has only achieved light-speed abilities thanks to special power ups, which usually involve the usage and placement of rings.

Boomstick: And if we know anything, it's that the faster someone goes, the more power they have going for them.

  • Abilities and Techniques
    • Superhuman speed
    • Martial arts
    • Burrowing
    • Spin Dash
    • Spin Attack
    • Homing Attack
    • Boost
    • Insta-Shield

Wiz: Sonic can make use of his super speed for a number of different offensive techniques.

Boomstick: His most notable in the Spin Attack, where he leaps through the air as a spinning move to smash down onto robots or items. His Spin Dash lets him rev himself up before plowing forward through any opposition in the blink of an eye.

Wiz: His Boost ability, sometimes known as the Super Boost, does the same thing, sending even the hardiest robots flying.

Boomstick: And his Homing Attack lets him seek out his targets like a blur, rodent shaped missile and bang them around in a series of strikes delivered faster than they can react. Plus, he's rather good at close quarters combat.

Wiz: Sonic appears to have a bit of skill when it comes to tunneling, which he likely learned from his red rival.

Boomstick: Mario?

Wiz: Knuckles. But it's not just his own abilities that Sonic can rely on. Or, well, kinda does since he needs to zoom around to find the various power-ups he can utilize.

  • Power-Ups
    • Shields
      • Normal
      • Flame
      • Water
      • Invincibility
    • Wisps
      • Burst
      • Frenzy
      • Rocket
      • Drill
      • Laser
    • Chaos Emeralds
      • Super Sonic
      • Hyper Sonic

Boomstick: First and foremost, he has his shields. These come in fire, water, thunder and good old invincibility, giving him extra leeway to not get taken out when he runs out of rings.

Wiz: The Shields are primarily for offense, but when Sonic wants power-ups that let him dish damage back, he calls on the aid of Wisp aliens to gift him with a variety of different abilities.

Boomstick: They can turn him into a rocket, a blazing orb, a starving monster, a literal laser, a drilling machine, a cube-creating commando or even a hovering hedgehog.

Popup: There are some power-ups like Golden Rings and Light Chip that need specific circumstances to find.

Wiz: But by far Sonic's greatest items of power are the legendary Chaos Emeralds. Able to call upon these godly gemstones at any time, Sonic can use them to enter the state of Super Sonic.

Boomstick: That's right; Sonic goes discount Super Saiyan. In this form, he's totally invincible to all but the most earth shattering of attacks, can attack with an dash called the Arrow of Light and can now fly at close to light speeds.

Wiz: Super Sonic is certainly the most iconic of Sonic's transformations, but actually, its not the strongest one. By absorbing the energy of the Super Emeralds, Sonic can enter the state of Hyper Sonic.

Boomstick: If Super Sonic is the Super Saiyan of Sonic's transformations, then Hyper Sonic is probably Ultra Instinct. Now definitely over the speed of light in terms of speed, Hyper Sonic has all of Super Sonic's abilities and more, including an omnidirectional blast of power. Hang on a moment; Super Sonic and Hyper Sonic? They're the names of speed measurements!

Wiz: How have you only just figured that out?

Boomstick: Well, I was more concerned with bigger questions, like why Sonic needs to use a car to race his friends. He's already super fast!

Wiz: Well, maybe it's not so he can race them, maybe it's so they can race him. On foot he'd probably outpace them all, like he usually does when he fights with his rivals, like Sonic, Knuckles and Shadow.

  • Feats
    • Scales to Knuckles
    • Outran a black hole
    • Dodged lightning and meteors
    • Knocked loose a giant stalactite
    • Fought through Eggman's entire fleet
    • Super Sonic matched the Egg Wizard w/ Burning Blaze
    • Defeated Eggman, Shadow, Chaos, Infinite

Boomstick: Knuckles in particular was able to deal a strike to a part of a robotic moon that produced an explosion that could be fairly well seen from afar.

Wiz: That explosion was worth 5 billion tons of TNT (FanofRPGs). Since Sonic has often tangled with Knuckles before, we can reasonably compare their durability to each other. With his own strength, Sonic supplied half of the 200 kilotons of TNT needed to break off a giant stalactite.

Boomstick: And that's just normal Sonic. As Super Sonic, he was able to battle against one of Eggman's most powerful inventions, the Egg Wizard, which was powered by the very same energy which sustained the two universes of Sonic and Blaze the Cat.

Wiz: Well Super Sonic needed Blaze the Cat's help to fight this machine, so it's likely only one Super Transformation can match a single source of universal power at a time. Still, incredibly impressive. Too bad it doesn't last forever.

Boomstick: Like a marriage, Super Sonic needs a ring, or several hundred, in order to keep itself around. At least it's not like Hyper Sonic, which simply expires after a few seconds of being used.

Wiz: And Sonic himself is a tad bit of a show-off, rarely taking things seriously until he really needs to.

Boomstick: Eh, at least it's a better attitude than the edgy enemies he's fought against. Looking at you Infinite.

Wiz: So to those who threaten his world beware, because Sonic the Hedgehog will be there in no time to bring about your downfall.

Boomstick: Cause he gotta go fast!

Spitfire[]

Wiz: The Skylanders. A collection of heroes, creatures, sorcerers and warriors so large that they could be classified as an army.

Boomstick: And like any army, the Skylanders have their own subdivisions. There are the Swap Force, the Trap Team and even the Giants, who I guess are their maverick unit.

Wiz: Going by that logic, then the SuperChargers could be considered their infantry or vehicular units. The SuperChargers are comprised of Skylanders who are specially selected to pilot vehicles of great power.

Boomstick: And like the other Skylander factions, the SuperChargers had a leader. And what better to lead a team of drivers than a driving expert.

Wiz: In their case, it was the racer known as Spitfire.

  • Background
    • Height: Est. 4
    • Element: Fire
    • Leader of the SuperChargers
    • Former racer
    • Fire spirit enhanced with technology
    • Drinks car fuel

Boomstick: Before he was a Skylander, Spitfire was a simple racer, determined to do what it took to win. I mean, he was already a fire spirit, but he decided to upgrade himself with technology to give as much of an edge as he could.

Wiz: With lightning fast reflexes and nerves of steel, Spitfire was on the right track, no pun intended, to become the next champion on the Super Skylands Racing Circuit.

Popup: There is an alternate version of Spitfire known as Dark Spitfire, who is part of the Dark Element instead of the Fire.

Boomstick: But his efforts were dashed, pun intended this time, when a goblin rider knocked him off the course, causing him to crash in a fiery explosion! His racing career was over...for about 3 weeks, then he was good to go again.

Wiz: But by that time, Skylands had been conquered by the Dark Portal Master Kaos, who used the power of the darkness to shut down the usual Skylander's means of entering Skylands in their toy forms; the Portals of Power. So the Portal Master, the one commanding the Skylanders, had to use a new source of power to get back into the fact.

Boomstick: Enter the Rift Engines, placed inside of special vehicles in order to act as steerable portals. Hence the need for Skylanders with a drivers license like Spitfire.

Wiz: In spite of being a racer, Spitfire is also rather good in a scrap.

  • Abilities
    • Butane Brawler
      • Intensified Fury
      • Fuel Injected Claws
    • Flash Fire
      • Flame Fury
      • Mega Marathon
      • Nitro Boost
      • Triathlete
    • Flamenado
      • Flamenado Chasers
      • Flamenado 2
      • The Flamenadoing
    • Volcanic Armor

Boomstick: His bread and butter attack is making good use of his steering hands in the Butane Brawler series of attacks, striking his foes with flaming claws. Fun fact, Spitfire's the only Skylander who doesn't wield a weapon. His fists are the only weapons he needs.

Wiz: Well, those and his Flash Fire ability, which lets him dart forward in a flaming dash to plow through or outmaneuver his foes.

Boomstick: It can even get to the point where he can zip around the entire battlefield in an instant, taking out any foe caught in the crosshairs. And named like an SCFI channel original movie is the Flamenado, a mobile firestorm that homes in on enemies to give them the burning of a lifetime. With upgrades, the Flamenados empower his Butane Brawler skills and his Soul Gem is even tailored towards improving his the towering inferno, as they now unleash a massive explosion when created.

Wiz: And whilst Spitfire is one the least armored Skylanders, his Volcanic Armor upgrade gives him an improvement in his defenses.

Boomstick: So yeah, Spitfire is a skilled fighter, but as a SuperCharger, his real strength lies in his vehicle; the Hot Streak.

  • The Hot Streak
    • Class: Land
    • Element: Fire
    • Made of elemental magma rock
    • Powered by a Rift Engine
    • Attacks
      • Fire Grill
      • Nitro Blaze
    • SuperCharged Mods
      • Speed Demons
      • Wind Flares
    • Misread as Hot Steak

Wiz: Forged from elemental magma in the depths of the Volcanic Vault, the Hot Streak is Spitfire's personal means of doing his Skylander duty. Whilst he can technically drive any other vehicle, the Hot Streak is his signature one.

Popup: Spitfire's Sea and Sky Vehicles for when he's an AI racer are the Sea Shadow and Sky Slicer.

Boomstick: When a SuperCharge drives their assigned vehicle, it gets SuperCharged, increasing its damage, speed, armor and giving it a sleek new look.

Wiz: One part of its offensive arsenal is the Nitro Blaze, Hot Streak's own version of Spitfire's Flash Fire.

Boomstick: And the other one is the Fire Grill, where Spitfire pees out a stream of fire.

Wiz: Boomstick, it's not urine!

Boomstick: I call it as I see it Wiz, and that Fire Grill definitely looks like Pyrokinetic Pee.

Wiz: Fortunately, such a thing isn't what the Hot Streak is known for. It's powered by a legendary Rift Engine, as we've mentioned before, which enable the vehicle to travel through dimensions to get between Earth and Skylands.

Boomstick: That's the kind of engine my truck needs right now. As long as there's an area large enough to accommodate a car, the Hot Streak can be called upon to be utilized for those Land Star missions.

  • Feats
    • Leader of the SuperChargers
    • Said to have lightning fast reflexes
    • Survived crashing
    • Scales to other Skylanders
    • Fought off Drow and Spell Punk assaults
    • Fought Kaos, Dragon Hunters, Chompy Mage, the Darkness

Wiz: In his time as the leader of the SuperChargers, Spitfire led them against Kaos' forces during their occupation of Skylands.

Boomstick: And leading a whole bunch of Skylanders is something you need to be as tough as the rest of them to do so. Skylanders like Sonic Boom are said to be able to shift entire mountains with a single screech, Fist Bump who can cause Magnitude 8 earthquakes and Hot Dog, who survived a volcano exploding.

Wiz: Every Skylander is also capable of battling Boris Blisterbottom, who can produce heat worth 1.7 quadrillion tons of TNT (Vrokorta). And as a driver, Spitfire naturally needs to have fast reflexes to steer and stop in time. Considering how normal Skylanders can react to light attacks, then vehicles must surely be faster. As we've mentioned in Kaos vs. Tabuu, by comparing Skylander Vehicles to real life ones, like the Sun Runner to the New Horizon Probe, then it should be able to go at 1500 times the speed of light. Since Spitfire can pilot this vehicle, this is a pretty good indicator of his reaction speed.

Boomstick: Not crazy enough for you? Well, thanks to the Rift Engines, SuperCharger Vehicles can battle the Darkness, a force of power capable of threatening the entire universe. Exactly the risk level when tempering with a Rift Engine itself.

Wiz: With Spitfire driving ahead of even his fellow SuperChargers, Kaos and the Darkness had their hold on Skylands undone once more.

Boomstick: As is the duty of a Skylander.

Interlude[]

Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, time to end this debate once and for all.

Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle!

The Battle[]

Setting: A winding racetrack built throughout the trunks of giant trees.

Sonic and Spitfire took at the black and white checkered strip that marked the racetrack's beginning, stretching themselves.

Spitfire: First one to the end wins right?

Sonic: You got that right.

Spitfire: So, where's you car?

Sonic chuckled.

Sonic: Trust me buddy, I don't need no car.

Spitfire: Isn't a matter of needing a car, it's a matter of style.

The Skylander suddenly jumped into the air as the Hot Streak appeared through a rift behind him, coming down to land on the seat. He gripped the steering wheel as Sonic gave an impressed whistle before turning to face the track, getting down into a ready-to-sprint position. An Eggman robot hovered down in front of them, holding onto a trio of lights. First they were red, then they blinked orange, and finally, green.

FIGHT!

In an instant, Sonic and the Hot Streak had dashed forward so fast, the area behind them was tore apart by the force of their takeoff, the robot signaler sent flying into the air with a mechanical wail. Neck and neck, the hedgehog and Skylander zoomed down the racing track, Sonic leaving behind a blue streak and Spitfire creating two trails of blue fire. The two racers locked eyes briefly, grinned cockily, before starting in their attempts to overtake the other, both gaining a miniscule amount of distance on each other a mere second before one got overtaken by the other.

Spitfire: Yo, hedgehog, we allowed to play rough?

Sonic: Wouldn't be fun if we didn't!

Spitfire: Good to know!

Spitfire suddenly pulled backwards behind Sonic, surprising the hedgehog who looked behind him just before Spitfire unleashed a stream of fire towards him. Sonic's eyes widened and he increased his speed as much as possible in order to stay ahead of the stream as it turned a third line in the track. Slowly, but surely, the Hot Streak and thus its fire stream got closer to Sonic, who was beginning to strain to stay ahead of it. However, Sonic then spotted an item box ahead of himself, reaching out to slap a hand against it and activate the Fire Shield within it, protecting him from the stream as it finally caught up to him. The Fire Shield protected Sonic from the flames, so even as the stream continued to bombard him, he turned around and Dashed at the car. Seeing the attack coming, Spitfire slammed on the brakes in order to drift the Hot Streak around Sonic's dash, resulting in the vehicle ending up in front of Sonic, blocking off the way to the rest of the track. Spitfire leapt out the seat to land on the track in front of Sonic, who turned from his Dash to face him.

Sonic: You really do wanna play rough huh? Fine!

In the same instant, he and Spitfire charged forward, Sonic using his Dash and Spitfire with his Flash Fire, the two attacks connecting together. This ended up pushing the two right back in the directions they had originally come from, as well as dispelling the Fire Shield Sonic had, along with producing a fiery shockwave. Spitfire appeared to recover first in order to come at Sonic with a swipe from his fiery claws, which Sonic casually dodged, as he did with the next couple of swipes Spitfire came at him with, before running around the Skylander when he performed his spinning attack, leaving Spitfire trying to draw a bead on him.

Sonic: Looks like you're too slow without your fancy toy!

He suddenly charged towards Spitfire with a Super Dash, but then;

Spitfire: Oh am I?

The Skylander ducked down under Sonic's outstretched fist before delivering a fiery uppercut to Sonic's jaw, launching him backwards. Before Sonic crashed onto the ground, Spitfire activated Flame Fury, zooming around faster than the eye could track save for several afterimages, hitting Sonic before he could hit the ground numerous times before he was finally able to reach earth. Sonic groaned as he got back to his feet, Spitfire still zooming about around him. Sonic dodged several of his charges, before jumping into the air as part of his Spin Attack, his spins connecting with the top of Spitfire's head, dazing him and causing him to exit his fast flashing state. Still in the air from hitting Spitfire, Sonic then performed a trio of Homing Attacks that all hit the Skylander, before he landed and started to spin himself about in a tornado, sucking in Spitfire and spitting him out with an immense amount of force that sent him smashing into his own Hot Streak, causing it to shoot up into the air. Sonic took advantage of this situation to leap up and Homing Attack the now falling vehicle, knocking it straight down towards Spitfire, forcing the SuperCharger to avoid his weaponized car with his Flash Fire. He looked behind himself to see his vehicle bounce along the track before falling off the edge.

Spitfire: My ride!

He glared at Sonic.

Spitfire: You'll pay for that!

He unleashed two Flamenados towards Sonic, which covered the distance towards him quickly. The hedgehog swerved between the two pillars of fire, but he forgot to take into account their caster, Spitfire, who now came at him with a series of punches, with the last one knocking him back into a Flamenado, lighting Sonic on fire. He yelled in pain and jumped forward straight into another one of Spitfire's punches, which knocked him straight through the same Flamenado, scorching him further. Sonic was able to right himself as he flew backwards to land on his feet, before Spitfire launched himself through the Flamenado after him, his Butane Brawler power empowered by the heat. Sonic darted backwards from the superheated fire claws as they smashed into the ground, but nearly backed up into the other Flamenado, only stopping himself at the last moment. He didn't have time to catch his breath when Spitfire swiped his hand at him, the hedgehog ducking under the swipe before lashing out with a double kick against Spitfire's chest, knocking him backwards. Sonic then jumped up and Homing Attacked Spitfire, who was able to catch him and toss him towards the other Flamenado. Sonic uncurled himself, digging his heels into the ground to stop himself hitting the pillar of fire, before curling up and Spin Dashing towards Spitfire, who somersaulted through the air over the attack before using his Flash Fire towards Sonic's now unprotected back, nearly hitting him square on if Sonic hadn't jumped backwards. The hedgehog and Skylander then engaged in close-quarters combat with each other, striking out with their fists and blocking each other. As their punching-barrages grew more intense, the two Flamenados closed in from two different directions. Soon, the fiery pillars had closed in, just in time for Spitfire to break through their punching match and strike Sonic across the face, sending him stumbling back towards a Flamenado, which finally gave out and exploded. When the smoke cleared, Sonic wasn't anywhere to be seen.

Spitfire: Looks like I was too hot for him to handle.

But then behind him, Sonic popped out of the ground, having tunneled away from the Flamenado before it had exploded, launching himself into the air to grab a hold of a Burst Wisp flying through the air, drawing on its power.

Sonic: Hey you pyrotechnic punk!

Spitfire turned around in time to see Sonic charging at him in his flaming form. Acting quickly, Spitfire summoned another Flamenado and activating the Flamenadoing, generating a massive exploding before Sonic's flaming charge. This produced a massive explosion that blasted Sonic, now without his Burst ability and Spitfire off the different sides of the track.

Sonic and Spitfire fell through the air, before straightening themselves into a diving form to control their falls. Casting their gazes at each other, they Boosted/Flash Fired at each other, zooming by and clipping each other slightly so that they had traded freefalling positions. This then happened a couple more times, the two of them zigzagging through the air as they fought, until Sonic noticed something below him; an Orange Wisp. To Spitfire's surprise, he Dashed downwards to reach the alien, grabbing into it to become the Orange Rocket, launching upwards towards Spitfire. He collided with the Skylander, pushing him upwards, but in spite of the powerful impact, Spitfire grabbed a hold of the rocket-formed Sonic and yanked on it, causing Sonic to drift to the side before it was pointed straight downwards, sending the Sonic rocket and Spitfire shooting down towards the lower part of the race track.

The two fighters rolled away from each other, Sonic recovering first so that he could look around himself and spot another item container, jumping over to and striking it so that he earned himself an Aqua Shield. Spitfire dashed through the smoke at the same time this happened, swinging out a flaming punch at Sonic, but the Aqua Shield thwarted his attack, the watery element of the shield reacting negatively to his hand. Spitfire grunted in pain and pulled away, before Sonic pushed himself against the wall of the track to bounce himself forward and collide with Spitfire, further damaging him with the dampness and sending him skidding backwards. Spitfire was able to stop himself from skidding backwards any further by digging his fiery claws into the ground, before using Flash Fire to charge forward at Sonic. In a split second, he was behind the hedgehog, and his Aqua Shield popped the next second before he could react, before Spitfire slammed into him a second then third time as part of his Triathlete ability. Sonic was sent spinning into the air before Spitfire completed this and grabbed him by the face to slam him into the ground, beginning to heat his head. Trapped and getting hotter by the second, Sonic suddenly spun himself forward, his quills slicing against Spitfire's face and repelling the Skylander. This let Sonic jump into the air to grab a hold of another passing Wisp; the Purple kind, transforming him into a giant part of jaws that slammed down in front of Spitfire. Snarling, the frenzied Sonic charged at Spitfire, chomping away with his fangs. Spitfire merely smirked at the approach threat as the sounds on an oncoming vehicle became audible. From behind Spitfire, the Hot Streak zoomed out from its Rift, the SuperCharger somersaulting backwards from Sonic's bite to land in the seat.

Spitfire: Eat this!

He activated the Nitro Blaze, zooming forward in a charge of fire that slammed straight into Sonic, blasting through his transformation and sending Sonic flying to crash into the trace as the Hot Streak sped on by.

Sonic: Hey, where are you going?

Spitfire looked over his shoulder.

Spitfire: Don't forget, we're meant to be racing as well!

Sonic: Oh yeah; in that case, let's even the odds.

He closed his eyes and summoned around him the Chaos Emeralds, drawing on their power to, with a blinding flash, enter the state of Super Sonic.

Sonic: As a certain buddy of mine said, "Let's a-go!"

With that, he zoomed down the track in hot pursuit of the Hot Streak. Spitfire saw him coming and turned the vehicle around, driving backwards so that he could shoot out the fiery stream. In spite of it scoring a direct hit on Super Sonic, the form's invincibility ensured no damage at all was taken. Grinning, Super Sonic shot forward with the Spear of Light, slamming into the front of the Hot Streak, sending it spinning around as he gained the lead. Spitfire was able to bring the spinning vehicle back under control, before drifting around the corner he then came across in order to gain a boost in speed and catch up to Super Sonic, drawing alongside the flying hedgehog. Realizing this, Super Sonic lashed out with a punch, with Spitfire giving one of his own, the two strikes colliding together and sending the two swerving away from each other. With Super Sonic in line with the railing of the track, Spitfire swerved the Hot Streak to the side to try and squish him against the structural support, but the hedgehog was able to pull ahead in time to avoid getting hit. Just as he breathed out in relief, however, the Hot Streak charged forward with the Nitro Blaze, slamming into Super Sonic's back, causing him to roll across the top of the vehicle and end up behind it, dazed and confused. Shaking his head, he glared at the withdrawing vehicle.

Sonic: That does it!

Now he called upon the Super Emeralds, and added their power to transform into Hyper Sonic. The blinding light caught Spitfire's attention and he looked behind himself again; as soon as he had, Hyper Sonic zoomed forward, smashing through the left side wheels of the Hot Streak and causing it to haphazardly drag on the ground. Spitfire let out a cry of shock before Hyper Sonic charged in the opposite direction and smashed through the wheels of the right side, before coming back yet again and smashing into the back of the Hot Streak, flipping it through the air before it crash the right side up. Spitfire sat in his chair in shock as Hyper Sonic hovered in front of him.

Sonic: Game over!

From himself, he unleashed an omnidirectional blast of light, which engulfed Spitfire and the Hot Streak, blinding the area with light. But then;

Spitfire: Fuel the fire!

The light was suddenly repelled by the powerful new shine of the Hot Streak as Spitfire SuperCharged the vehicle, replacing the destroyed parts with its new mods. It's power enhanced, the Hot Streak charged forward and slammed into the surprised Hyper Sonic, planting him on the front. Hyper Sonic glared at Spitfire, activating the Spear of Light point blank against he vehicle, the two opposing forces entering a deadlock, Hyper Sonic and Spitfire locking competitive glares.

Before suddenly, the Hyper Sonic transformation wore off. Sonic blinked in slow realization before the Hot Streak was finally allowed to zoom forward again, pinning Sonic against the front with the speed.

Spitfire: Let's heat you up hedgehog!

The Nitro Blaze activated, burning Sonic as he was helplessly pressed against the origin of the blue fiery charge. Sonic screamed as his entire body grew blacker and blacker. By the time the Hot Streak crossed the finish line, he was nothing but an ashen statue that finally dispelled as Spitfire pumped his fist into the air in victory.

KO!

Outcome[]

Boomstick: Spitfire just came in hot!

Wiz: At first glance, it would be easy to call this an even matchup, but unfortunately for Sonic, Spitfire was just too much for him.

Boomstick: Let's discuss speed first. Sure Sonic's known as the "Fastest thing alive!" for a good reason but believe it or not, Spitfire actually had him beat.

Wiz: Recall how Spitfire can pilot SuperCharger vehicles like the Sun Runner. This is based on the argument on how they are surely faster than normal Skylanders who can fight with and dodge beams of light, or at least lasers, whilst Sonic, in his base form, can only run at about a third the speed of light.

Popup: Presuming we are to take the comment about Spitfire's lightning fast reflexes as literal over his light-speed ones, it would simply put him and Sonic on the same reactionary level, as Sonic's reactions enabled him to dodge lightning.

Boomstick: And Spitfire possessed a lot more strength behind his attacks. Being able to harm Skylanders who survived battling Boris Blisterbottom puts his attack output over 566 thousand times greater than Sonic's, considering he can harm Knuckles who survived that 3 gigaton explosion.

Wiz: We all know, however, that we need to discuss; the impact of the Super and Hyper Forms.

Boomstick: We know there are some people that say that Saiyan Sonic and Hyper Instinct give Sonic infinite speed and transdimensional attack power on account of Super Sonic being needed to battle Solaris, a being able to collapse time, and if that is concrete, it could give Sonic the win over Spitfire. But there is a difference between could and would.

Wiz: The fact is, whilst Sonic's transformations could arguably put him above Spitfire and give him the win in some scenarios, it was his base form that was outmatched against the Skylander. If Sonic wanted to get his power-ups, he would of had to last against Spitfire, who was already much more faster and stronger than he was.

Popup: Sonic's overconfidence would likely play a part in not using his transformations in time, whilst Spitfire, in spite of his own cockiness, could reel it in at the appropriate times.

Boomstick: So it's unlikely he would get the chance to transform in the first place. But there's something else I want to mention; the Super Sonic form was also used to battle Dark Gaia, and it's not a transdimentional being that exists in all three eras at the same time and thus attack with infinite or immeasurable speed.

Wiz: Indeed; Dark Gaia was a being powerful enough to harm Super Sonic with its own might, like Solaris, and tag him with its natural speed, all whilst lacking a so-called transdimensional existence that Solaris is said to have.

Popup: Whilst Solaris is likely undoubtedly stronger than Dark Gaia, three Super Forms where used to battle him.

Boomstick: The highest and most likely level of Super Sonic would probably be universal thanks to the fight against the Egg Wizard powered by the dimensional sustaining power, but Spitfire's Hot Streak was powered by a Rift Engine, the likes of which matched the universe-threating Darkness. Making it the perfect means of outlasting the time limit of the Super forms. And considering the Darkness is even stronger in his home universe, it's likely the SuperCharger Vehicles can match even the power boost of Hyper Sonic's Super Emeralds, given both are of a vague power increase.

Wiz: And looking over all these examples, it's more likely to say that it's the invincibility of Super and Hyper that let Sonic content with these opponents, rather than an increase of power as he often targets weak points and the machines used to harness these powers. Sonic could hold his own, but against the SuperChargers power, speed and arsenal, he didn't have what it took to take the win more times than not.

Boomstick: Spitfire was just on too much of a Hot Streak.

Wiz: The winner is Spitfire.

Trivia[]

  • The connection between Sonic and Spitfire is that they are both blue coloured heroes who are known for their immense levels of speed and led heroic groups; the Freedom Fighters and the SuperCharger Skylanders, respectively. Both have also battled against oppressive regimes (Eggman and the Eggman Empire, respectively) in a fantasy setting (Mobius and Skylanders, respectively) and have access to legendary relics of power; the Chaos Emeralds and the Rift Engine respectively. Ironically, both also have a weakness to water; Sonic cannot swim and Fire Skylanders like Spitfire are vulnerable to water attacks. Both have also battled against giant mechanicals characterized by their consuming natures (Time Eater and Sky Eater, respectively) and ancient malicious entities; Chaos/Dark Gaia and the Darkness, respectively.
  • This battle would have been in 2D
  • The original music for this battle would have been called 'SuperCharged', based on Super Sonic and the Superchargers
