Sonic Vs. Kirby is the Season premiere of ThunderStar20's Death Battles, featuring Sonic from Sonic X against Kirby from Kirby: Right Back At Ya!

Death Battle is back, better than ever! With a new Season, comes new battles. Between the anime iterations of video game icons, who will come out on top?

Interlude

Metroid: It's great to be here again.

Thunder: Yep! The break was fun, but I can't wait to see more bloodshed! Let's get started!

Metroid: Sonic and Kirby. Two icons of gaming. While there are many, these two happen to have some of the most well known animated adaptions...

Thunder: That 4Kids butchered. But hey, at least the memes are cool. So yeah, we're gonna do this with the anime iterations! Time to figure out which franchise isn't getting a losing streak! He's Metroid and I'm Thunder!

Metroid: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Sonic's gotta go fast!

Metroid: Fast. Quick. Witty. Blue. All these traits fit one character: Sonic the Hedgehog.

Thunder: But this isn't the Sonic you're used to. We're discussing th le Sonic from the Sonic X reality, so things will be a little different from the last few times we did Sonic characters.

Metroid: Sonic's life in this case is fairly similar. Whenever Dr. Eggman is up to a dastardly scheme, he's quick to find a way to stop him.

Thunder: But one day it...backfired. One day, when attempting to save Cream from Eggman, a mishap happened involving a robot's gun, and Eggman's new machine instigated Chaos Control!

Metroid: As a result, Sonic found himself trapped in another world, one unfamiliar to him, and one where he was considered the weird one. He found himself....in the human world.

Thunder: ...Oh God that sounds like HELL.

Metroid: Stuck in this new world with seemingly no way out, Sonic was at first, feared by the population.

Thunder: Well of course, humans are always like that. The second something ain't natural to them, they freak out. Well luckily for our rodent friend, Sonic was found by Chris Thorndyke, after making a bad landing into his pool.

Metroid: But as it turns out, this world also had his friends, AND Eggman, who would threaten the new world he in constantly.

Thunder: So Sonic would fight the guy and try to save the new world he's in...and get the Chaos Emeralds in order to return home.

Metroid: While this Sonic isn't as fast as his mainline counterpart, he is still a speed demon. He's fat enough to outrun Formula 1 Race Cars, outrank bullets, lasers and missiles, He's ran across multiple mountains in a second, and is faster than lightning.

Thunder: There's also the time he won a race by crossing the finishing line went back to the camera to taunt a bit, then crossed the finish line again before anyone could actually realize he did!

Metroid: But he's not just fast, but incredibly strong. He kept up in power against Knuckles, who can effortlessly uproot trees, he can kicks missiles back to sender effortlessly, and can smash through metal with ease.

Thunder: And he can take a hit well too! He's survive being struck through multiple buildings, being caught in many different explosions, and even survived a drop from space! Although he did get knocked out for a week after said drop.

Metroid: He also survived a strike from Final Mova, who can use a planet a 10th the size of our moon as a chair.

Thunder: And he knows the ever iconic Spin Dash, where he curls up into a ball and begins to rev up and blast off! And if he needs a physical boost, he can use a ring to gain a power boost, even doing stuff like allowing him to thaw out when frozen in space!

Metroid: The physical boost it grants Sonic is immense. It allows Sonic to knock over and plow through skyscraper sized robots, and allowed him to outmuscle a 550 ton robot. It even allowed Sonic to destroy a giant flying fortress bigger than skyscrapers and spanned city blocks.

Thunder: However, this isn't the only feat he has. He fought Chaos 6 with Knuckles, and it has Six Chaos Emeralds empowering it, and six of those were able to make a beam worth about 2.64 yottatons!

Metroid: He also scales to Shadow, who can counter Final Mova, who has several gigatons worth of striking power.

Thunder: And Chris also chipped in to help him, creating Hover Boots to keep Sonic hovering in the air, and Nitro Blasters on Sonic's shoes that let him generate energy Spheres that can be kicked at foes, and ricochet to other enemies. Call Chris useless again, I dare ya.

Metroid: But that's not all Sonic has up his sleeve. If something bad happens to someone close to him, or if put under extreme conditions, Sonic will transform into Dark Sonic.

Thunder: To sum it up, Sonic goes more...dark colored. It's basically a Super Sonic-like form, and allows him to move faster than most beings can process.

Metroid: In this state, Sonic also loses control, becoming a bit more sadistic and more cruel in actions, such as laughing at his terrified foes.

Thunder: This form can be calmed down, which will cause it to go away. But then there's the one y'all been waiting for; Super Sonic!

Metroid: Upon gathering all seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic transforms into a golden, more powerful form. it grants him new abilities, such as golden beams that can wipe out entire armies, invisible eye beams that incinerate metal, and even knows Chaos Control.

Thunder: Which means Sonic can warp things to him, or warp people or himself away. So essentially Sonic can teleport, even to other worlds and dimensions! It's also hinted the dude can time stop he didn't really get to try it...

Metroid: He also knows Chaos Regeneration, a helping technique. Although, he only has used it to heal others.

Thunder: But he definitely gets a HUGE boost in power from the form! Super Sonic could take on the Biolizard when it fused with Space Colony Ark, when it was empowered by all seven Chaos Emeralds!

Metroid: Keep in mind, it was confirmed that if Space Colony ARK made impact with the earth, the planet would have been reduced to dust. And with Super Shadow, Super Sonic was was able to crack the shell of a celestial body called Final Mova, which can calced at 69.15 Yottatons or even 156.05 Ronnatons!

Thunder: Hell, he took a punch from Super Shadow to the stomach. Sure, it left him winded, but he survived with no real injuries. He even ignored the gravitational field of Final Mova, which was as strong as a black hole! And the kicker; his Super Form actually lasted 10 whole minutes, so timing it out like his mainline counterpart is gonna be WAY harder. And he was able to fight Dark Oak in Super Form at speeds of 104315128.864c!

Metroid: Even without Super Forms, Sonic has shown incredible physical combat skill, and has been fighting against Eggman long before the first episode happened. He's a clever fighter too, considering he was able to trick turrents into taking themselves out, and found where an invisible robot was by simply stopping and listening.

Thunder: He's saved his world, the human world, and even the whole universe. Sure, he may be cocky, and he is extremely aquaphobic, but he's still got what it takes to be worthy of the blue blur mantle.

Kirby's sending it right back at ya!

Metroid: Many, many centuries ago, a terrible evil cloaked the universe. This was a being of pure evil, named Nightmare.

Thunder: Nightmare, huh? Is that his real name or did he get it changed because his real name is something like "Gaylord"?

Metroid: Ahem! The reign of Nightmare Enterprises went on and on, leaving galaxies and planets in ruin, until the day a group stood up to them.

Thunder: The Star Warriors! This group of Scrimblo Bimblo warriors chose to fight against the monsters Nightmare sent, and the battle went on for thousand and thousands of years! But it ended with Nightmare beating their asses.

Metroid: Soon, one of the survivors, Meta Knight, went into hiding onto a star-shaped planet known as Pop Star, and became a worker for the....very questionable King Dedede, who actually orders monsters from NME for kicks.

Thunder: Which kinda makes it hard for the town he rules over to actually know any peace. Luckily for them, a hero was destined to come; one that would come to stop the monsters and any threats to the planet.

Metroid: And that hero....was Kirby!

He's Maximum Pink!

Thunder: Kirby WAS supposed to wake up any years later, but the situation got outta hand and he woke up 200 years early, and crashed onto Pop Star.

Metroid: As a result, Kirby was...actually perfectly accepted into the town, albeit with some rudeness from the citizens every now and then.

Thunder: But King Dedede and Escargoon, not so much. He'd constantly send monsters after Kirby just to get rid of him. Luckily, Kirby had the skills to back himself up!

Metroid: Just like his mainline counterpart, Kirby can swallow things whole with his inhale. He can inhale tornadoes, a hallway's worth of smoke, lasers, and even explosions. He's even inhaled underwater, inhaled to trip foes over, and even had it target specific foes.

Thunder: But he can't inhale things larger than him and tends to tire out if the inhale takes too long.

Metroid: But anyone Kirby inhales actually gets sent and trapped in another dimension. He can swallow things bigger than himself, and even call upon things he's eaten before. He's even held enough newspapers to cover the entirety of Dedede's castle when he spat it out.

Thunder: Although he can get sick, obese...and even high on what he eats. And if he can't copy something from what he ate he might end up spitting it out, AND was hurt by a giant explosion going off in his gut.

Metroid: But its time to go over the more important part of Kirby's arsenal; his Copy Abilities. Over the course of the series, Kirby has gained 29 different copy abilities, all with unique powers.

Thunder: Like Fire Kirby! His Fire Breath is so potent it can launch a giant octopus into the stratosphere, and let him inflate a tiger made of magma like a balloon, and allowed him to hold it, tie it's lips, and yeet it miles away!

Metroid: He can turned into a fireball and charge forth, and if eats something like say, fireworks, Kirby can spit out colorful blasts. Although ammo is limited.

Thunder: Clean Kirby gives him a broom, and despite how stupid it looks, allows him to deflect projectiles with it! He can create gusts of air with it, and create magic dust that can stun foes, send them flying, or even erase trash!

Metroid: A better method then how YOU handle the trash.

Thunder: Me using it as target practice is recycling.

Metroid: Ugh...Hammer Kirby uses a hammer that is very capable of smashing metal snail shells or spinning fast enough to gain altitude. As Stone Kirby, he becomes a heavy goliath stone version of himself. He can plow through tower sized monsters, and as Iron Kirby...

Thunder: He gets a Stark Suit!

Metroid: What? No! He turns a Iron version of stone that can roll at high speeds, and has a staff he can use.

Thunder: Damn. Anyways, Jet Kirby lets the baby fly fast enough to dodge missiles without looking in their direction, and outpaced a monster that made 200 food deliveries across the kingdom of Dreamland in a matter of minutes! He can fire projectiles called Jet Cracker, that can leave craters in the ground!

Metroid: Wheel Kirby turns him into a wheel that can move at immense speeds, able to do laps across the kingdom of Dream Land in seconds, and dodge caltrops scattered across the ground.

Thunder: Wing Kirby lets Kirby fly and be fast enough to dodge lasers. He can fire feathers from his forehead, and is able to headbutt giant monsters effortlessly.

Metroid: Ice Kirby is able to freeze people solid, then swallow them to turn their body into ice! He even defeated a ice monster so immune to ice powers that it was able to create a snowstorm in the SUMMER, by freezing it from within.

Thunder: There's also spark Kirby, who once overloaded a robot to the point it exploded. Try that on me, Puffball! I got so much more power storage! It also made a projectile that destroyed a house sized octopus.

Metroid: With Tornado Kirby, Kirby is able to create cyclones of various sizes, can call down lightning and rain, and even imitated Moses' parting of the red sea.

Thunder: Bomb Kirby just throws bombs. Bombs that can take down a semi-intanginle monster made of UV rays, which fixed the Ozone Layer in the process!

Metroid: Needle Kirby can fires needles that he has precise mental control over. At high speeds, they can even destroy missiles.

Thunder: Sword Kirby has...well, a sword. He's practically a skilled user of the blade and even can pour energy into the sword, making it longer or able to fire beams able to slice people in half!

Metroid: Top Kirby can throw spinning tops capable le of cutting through metal, and Fighter Kirby is a martial arts master, even emulating some Street Fighter moves. Ninja Kirby is a master Ninja capable of outwitting even experienced ninjas.

Thunder: And as Mirror Kirby he can create shields capable of deflecting attacks and can clone himself to fight separately or work together for stronger moves! There's also Water Kirby who attacks with...water.

Metroid: But the following Copy Abilities are a step higher than the others. Cook Kirby dons a Chef's Hat and is able to cook alot. Once he tossed a Frying Pan, into the air with a monster on it, and it went around the sun, and upon landing, the monster was perfectly cooked.

Thunder: But it depends on the edibleness of the target. Against non-organic foes Cook Kirby does jacksquat, but at least he can hold his own in hand to hand.

Metroid: Crash Kirby can create giant explosions. It killed herds of hybrid dinosaurs and destroyed city-sized UFOs. He can even control who gets hurt by the blasts.

Thunder: Mike Kirby has Kirby sing. But the singing is so awful, so atrocious, it can cause people to DIE from listening for too long. It's brought down entire castles, and even playing a recording hurts!

Metroid: Paint Kirby can create nukes that can seemingly shake the fabric of reality, Throw Kirby can throw monsters into space with no effort, and Kabuki Kirby...well...

Thunder: Turns Kirby into a giant live-action human who fires a blast thar can destroy a castle sized monster. Because it ain't Kirby if it ain't batshit insane as fuck.

Metroid: Even without Copy Abilities, Kirby has shown to be extremely adaptable in combat. He's beaten foes far more experienced than him, can learn how how use new weapons in minutes, and gets better once pressured.

Thunder: He's also immune to disease because he's too tough...or stupid. Or both. He can inflate his body to fly, and his body is squishy and stretching, allowing him to no-sell being crushed over and over, just being cartoonishly flattened. He once spat a monster OUTSIDE the show, and when he ate something spicy enough to make people burst into flames, Kirby just...breathed fire.

Metroid: Kirby's no slouch. He was able to overpower an asteroid that could have destroyed Pop Star, and has numerous speed feats. The frying pan feat in question has Kirby at 45 c., and once threw Whippy into a Black Hole, which would take speeds of 5259564601.86 c.!

Thunder: Most of Kirby's feats are actually thanks to the Warp Star. Just by looking at it, Kirby can get energized. He has full mental control over the Warp Star, and is capable of dodging objects WHILE driving backwards. and shielded against lightning, weaponized UV rays, explosion, and the inhale from a Kirby clone! And it can travel around 16 c.!

Metroid: But all of this pales to Kirby's greatest feat. Once he had to face Nightmare in battle, Kirby fell asleep, luring Nightmare into a dream realm where he was more vulnerable, since his real body was essentially a void that absorbed anything it touched. And after devouring his Warp Star, Kirby created the Star Rod. With a swing, he created a barrage of stars that destroyed Nightmare....for now, because he'll llive as long as evil exists in people's hearts.

Thunder: Sure, the Puffball's got flaws, usually needing Tiff's help at first to do anything combat related, but he gets over it fast. So, don'tbe fooled by his size, cause you won't believe your eyes by how powerful this puffball can be!

Prelude

Metroid: Alright, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities.

Thunder: It's time for a Death Battle!

Pre-Fight

The water was flowing peacefully in a nearby river. A butterfly fluttered through the air freely, as it passed be a very particular tree. This one was near a particular house, but the owner didn't sleep in it, but rather, near it.

In the tree, was Kirby, who was sleeping contently on the nest, peaceful and happy, at least until two kids approached his tree.

"Hey, Kirby! Wake up!" Tuff, the rowdier one of the young kids, called, making Kirby jump and look down to see his friends. "Come on, Kirby! The others are waiting to play with you today!"

"Poyo!" Kirby let out a cheer and jumped down the tree to follow his friends. Little did he know that a certain someone was watching...

King Dedede was watching Kirby from a pair of binoculars, gritting teeth. "Gah, I hate dat Kirby! Always upstanding me at everythin'!"

As he stormed back into the castle, Escargoon spoke up. "Well, maybe if you put some effort for things, he'd not be such a thorn in your side."

The pair of binoculars were thrown at his head. "Can it, shellhead!" Dedede bellowed, before turning to head to his throne. "I need new monstah to cobblah that there Kirby..."

"Well, make sure you get money back grauntee." Escargoon commented. "We're sinking in debt as it is."

Meanwhile, in another world...

"Stand still, Hedgehog!"

"You're gonna have to try to aim better, Eggman!"

Atop a metal base, Sonic was seen outrunning a barrage of laser and gun fire from Eggman, who had collected the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic was determined to get them all, but was faced with battle.

Leaping off the wall, Sonic evaded a Eggman hit a button, making a cannon pop out of the floor. "Heh, what's next, Eggman? A missile launcher?" Sonic joked as Eggman laughed at his cocky attitude.

"Oh, no, Sonic. I managed to convert all the energy from the Chaos Emeralds to condense Chaos Control into a shot. With one shot, I'll send you away with no way home!"

"A vacation would be nice, but I still got a job to do." Sonic quipped, as he dodge the shots. He evaded each one, a few of Eggman's robots being teleported by the shots. The Hedgehog was quick to Spin Dash, rushing up to the Chaos Emeralds and snagging them.

"Looks like you lose again, Eggman." Sonic snarked as Eggman gritted his teeth...before seeing that there was one final shot, and a certain plane was flying overhead.

"Good job Sonic! I'm coming down to pick you up." Tails, who was piloting the X Tornado, was slowly lowering. Grinning, Eggman aimed the cannon up. "You may have won, Sonic, but you'll lose your friend!"

The final shot was sent at Tails, who gasped at the shot. Sonic widened his eyes, and rushed up a nearby ramp and leaping to try and catch Tails.

He was successful. Sadly, he only got to Tails, and they both were caught, and as a result, warped away.

"Hahahaha! Finally, Sonic is no longer a thorn in my side! The world shall be mine!" Eggman cheered...as the scene changed to show Dedede's castle.

As Escargoon made his way after Dedede, he heard a scream coming from above and looked upwards to see someone crash through the ceiling, making him yell in a mix of fear and shock before being landed on.

The person who landed on him in question? Indeed, it was Sonic. "Gah, talk about a rough landing." Sonic muttered, before being thrown off.

"Get off of me, pricky!" Escargoon yelled, as Sonic looked at him. "Geez, sorry Slugworth. It was an accident anyways."

"SLUGWORTH?! Oh why I oughta--" The snail was interrupted by an angry Dedede. "Escargoon! Who's this chump who..." Dedede looked up and saw the Sonic-shaped hole in he ceiling. "...FELL THROUGH THE CEILING?!"

Sonic chuckled. "Name's Sonic! Sonic the Hedgehog! And who are you, big guy? You're big enough to make Eggman considering slimming down."

"I'm a penguin, ya dummy! And you're talking to the big triple-d, King Dedede!" Dedede bellowed...and then, for once in his life, he suddenly had a clever plan. "...But thanks for dropping by at opportune time!"

Sonic looked at him with a curious look, as Escargoon stared at him. "What are you talking about sire--" His mouth was covered by Dedede. "He's our new ticket to clobbahing Kirby and I'm redeeming it!" He whispered, before turning to Sonic again.

"Listen, Sonic, I've been waiting for ya a long while now." He spoke, making Sonic raised an eyebrow. "Really now?"

"Yeah, there's this pink puffball named Kirby. He's been terrorizing the food supply!" Dedede faked sounding stressed. "He's even eaten others for attacking him, so most of the town sides with him in fear!" Escargoon quickly added.

"Is that so?" Sonic asked before stretching his legs. "Well, I should be able to take care of things lickity split, so I'll just do a bit of a warm up and--"

"SONIC!" Tails called as Sonic looked up to see him flying into the castle. "Tails! You alright, pal?" Sonic ran over at speeds that actually stunned Dedede and Escargoon, and soon was near his friend.

"Yeah, I'm fine. What about you?" Tails asked, causing Sonic to grin. "Come on Tails, I've been through worse!" He said, pitting his friend's back. Soon Tails asked "Where are we, actually?"

Sonic gave a shrug. "I dunno, but apparently there's a monster going around eating all the food. So I'm gonna help deal with that first." He noted, as Tails looked at Dedede and Escargoon, who were snickering before quickly acting innocent.

"Well...alright. I parked the X Tornado outside, I can help you fly around and find whatever you may look for." Tails said, with Sonic grinned. "Alright! Let's roll!"

With that, Sonic leaped out the window with Tails, and after a but, the X Tornado flew into the distance, with Dedede and Escargoon staring in amazement at the technological Marvel.

"Hey, Escargoon. Why don't you build stuff like that?" Dedede questioned. "I think that's a little out of my skillset sire..." Escargoon quietly noted, before they quickly got to trying to dupe Kirby too.

Later, as Kirby was playing games with his friends, a Waddle Dee ran up and gave Tiff a letter. "Huh? It's a letter from Dedede." She noted with worry, before deciding to read.

"Dear Annoying Puffball, I've gotten a new monster, a blue Hedgehog who can easily kick your butt! Better get ready to pack your bags! From, King Dedede."

"Oh no...Kirby!" Tiff ran to warn her friend, as in the skies, was the X Tornado. Scanning the ground, Tails saw Kirby. "Sonic, I see a pink ball. I think it's who you're targeting." Tails noted, as Sonic nodded.

"Thanks Tails. I'll handle the rest, but step in if things get hairy." Sonic asked, before leaping off the jet and leaping down, making him dust his shoulder off.

The Cappy Kids ran in panic as Kirby, Tiff and Tuff stared in shock. "What the-- what is that thing?" Tuff questioned, as Tiff immediately yelled "Kirby! Be careful!"

"So you're Kirby, huh?" Sonic asked, with Kirby being innocent enough to nod with a smile. "Well, guess it's time for me to take ya down!"

Realizing the Hedgehog was ready to fight, Kirby jumped up and looked at him quietly.

Just another day, another monster, Kirby supposed.

Fight

At first, it seemed Sonic was going to attack first, but instead stood still. "But I'm feeling generous. Go and take your best shot!"

Kirby blinked, before heading up and attempting to tackle...but Sonic suddenly zipped to the side, Kirby missing his attack completely. "Man, you're slow on the uptake." He snarked, as Kirby went for another attack, just to be sidestepped again, yawning. "Dang, that all you got?" Sonic spoke again. Another attack again, and Sonic stepped aside once more. "You're too slow!"

Tiff looked nervous, but quickly yelled "Kirby, suck him up!" Sonic looked over to her in confusion, before Kirby leaped up and began inhaling.

"Whoa!" Sonic yelled, and began to book it as fast as possible, the suction threatening to suck him in. Seeing a rock getting loose nearby, he pushed himself further and kicked the rock towards Kirby. "I don't feel like being on the menu, kid!"

Rock ended up inhaling the rock, but Sonic's act was not as advantageous as he thought; as Kirby swallowed it, leaping up and transforming into Stone Kirby. "Huh. Well ain't that something." Sonic noted, before performing a Spin Dash and blasting at the stone goliath, and...not even hurting it in the slightest.

"What the?" Sonic noted, before Kirby leaped up and attempted to land on him. Sonic was expectedly quick to get out of the way, before rushing towards to kick Kirby over.

He was...semi-successful, as Kirby did tip over, but onto him. Sonic quickly held his hand out to catch Kirby, who now was threatening to crush him into a pancake

"Hah! This Demon Beast was easy!" Tuff exclaimed, before Sonic began to slowly lift Kirby and throw him over into a nearby chasm. "Heh, that pink ball was easy!" Sonic joked.

Little did he know that Kirby spat out the stone and ejected the Copy Ability. He quickly gathered air into his mouth, floating his way back to the top. "Nevermind." Sonic said, deadpan tone and all.

Kirby was quick to see Sonic rushing up, and this managed to block the blow. Sonic flipped back, and Kirby began to weave around each attack with ease.

"Hey, not bad! You're faster than I thought you would be!" Sonic spoke, before began to run in circles around the puffball, leaving nothing but blurs visible. "But let's see if you can catch me!"

Soon, Sonic was moving fast enough to leave a trail of fire that Kirby quickly inhaled, transforming into Fire Kirby. Soon, Kirby performed an fire breath that Sonic leaped over.

Sonic, but before seeing Kirby's fire breath slowly following him. He began to run faster, the fire hot on his heels, before backsliding over the flames and rushing towards Kirby.

Grabbing Kirby, he threw him into the air before shooting up towards him and kicking him into the distance. "And he scores!" Sonic quipped before giving chase after the Star Warrior.

Looking in worry, Kirby's friends looked at each other. "Tuff, we gotta hurry! If we don't, Kirby will be in trouble!" Tiff said, making Tuff nod. "Right. Let's get going!"

As they ran off, Tails, flying above, simply had one thought.

"This feels way too fishy to me..."

Meanwhile, in Cappy Town, the citizens were going about their days. Some were buying from stores, some were chatting, and Bookum was making another arrest.

Then Kirby landed comically into a nearby store, knocking the contents off a table (oddly accompanied by the sound effects of bowling pins following over) and face planted.

Quickly getting up, and shaking his head, Kirby was ready to try and turn into a fireball, but stopped when he realized he was in Cappy Town. Sonic made his way over, but stopped when he analyzed his surroundings.

"Shoot, a town! I can't get too reckless or people are gonna get hurt." Sonic thought to himself. He saw the look a little tense too, and focused. "Gotta get him out of here, and fast!"

Kirby quickly swallowed a broom, and was turned into Clean Kirby. The Puffball timed his swing, hitting Sonic with some dust. The quickest Hedgehog around rubbed his eyes as the dust flew in it, and left him open for Kirby to whack him into the air with his broom, and leaped up after him.

Soon the two heroes were now fighting mid air, Sonic and Kirby exchanging blows as pink and blue blurs were visible for all but moments. Soon Sonic grabbed Kirby and threw him back down, Kirby readjusting midair to avoid a hard impact.

Sonic landed, but was hit by the broom again, and Kirby began rapidly hitting him and pushing him to the left. However, Sonic would soon kick the broom away (and gently place it down near Mabel's tent) before retaliating with a barrage of punches that pushed Kirby to the right.

Tiff and Tuff soon arrived, as so did Tails. Both however, did note something odd. "That's weird. Why is it holding back so much?" Tails wondered. "Maybe it knows these people can't make food without a proper place to stay..."

"Tuff, that monster seems to be holding back here." Tiff also noticed, but Tuff was quick to make his answer. "Well duh, it just wants to target Kirby only!"

Sonic soon punched Kirby towards Gus' store, the puffball crashing into a pile of tires. Finding one halfway in his mouth, he swallowed it, and turned into Wheel Kirby. Before Sonic could react, he suddenly revved up and rammed into him, dragging him away.

Tiff and Tuff watched, and nodded to each other, silently agreeing to grab supplies for Kirby to use during the battle. Tails looked below, muttering "Those two are up to something..."

Back to Sonic and Kirby, Sonic was being ran over and dragged by the Wheel Form, before kicking Kirby away, landing through a nearby house; Kirby's House, technically. Sonic gritted his teeth and stood, but was caught off guard by...Tokkori popping out of the blankets.

"Squawk! What in the world?!" Tokkori yelled, seeing Sonic. "Sorry, in a bit of a snag! Can't stay around!" Sonic replied, and took off, kicking up some dust that made Tokkori cough.

Sonic saw the wheeled Star Warrior getting closer, and charged as he kicked it. He grinned, before Kirby hit him from behind, revealing to actually be doing laps across the kingdom, making sure to hit Sonic. Sonic just smiled. "Heh...he's fast. I'm starting to have fun!" Sonic spoke, before finally timing a punch to send the wheel form into the air, forcing Kirby to retreat to non-wheel form, then it was kicked it out of him.

"Kirby!" Sonic turned his attention to see Tiff and Tuff coming, and Tuff threw a spinning top. "Suck it up, will ya?!"

Sonic attempted to stop the inhale, but Kirby inhaled it, turning into Top Kirby. In moments, Sonic saw a spinning top flying towards him, and immediately did a Spin Dash and collided with it. Sparks flew, as Sonic soon found himself blasting through, but Kirby was quick to kick him into the tree.

The Quickest Hedgehog around quickly saw Kirby focus, before gaining a sword and a hat. "Hey, be careful with that! Don't want anyone getting cut, do we?" Sonic joked, before blasting towards the puffball with immense speed.

Kirby attempted to slash him, but Sonic kept dodging and striking him from various corners, making Kirby's attempt to slash his foe by fruitless. "C'mon, step it up!"

"This guy is really getting on my nerves, Tiff!" Tuff grunted, before Tiff yelled "Kirby, focus your power!" Realizing what that meant, Kirby focused his energy into his blade, making it grow longer, and swinging at Sonic, who barely ducked.

Noticing some of his quills were missing, Sonic grumbled "Hey! I'll ask for a trim when I want one!" He complained, before quickly switching shoes to the Nitro Boosters and creating a sphere of energy from it that he kicked. Kirby responded by releasing a beam of energy at the sphere, which made a giant dust cloud that obscured both combatants from seeing each other...and entered Tokkori's house, making him yell and cough.

"Kirby, take this!" Tiff called, throwing some ice cubes that he inhaled to make Kirby turn into Ice Kirby. When the dust cloud cleared up, Sonic found Kirby breathing an ice breath, that began to slowly freeze him.

Sonic gritted his teeth, before Tails quickly communicated with him. "Sonic, remember the ring!" He was told, making Sonic nod and pull out a ring, clenching it and creating a powerful energy surge that actually made the ice melt.

Kirby's eyes widened before Sonic kicked him up, before dragging him across the ground and kicking him away, the Puffball hitting his treehouse and slowly sliding down.

Sonic was quick to generate another Nitro Booster energy sphere, but this time, Kirby inhaled it and became Jet Kirby. Sonic groaned in annoyance, before taking off...and seeing Kirby chase him in flight.

Kirby began firing Jet Crackers, making Sonic resort to evading each one to avoid damage...and avoiding being blown up. Sonic performed a backflip to land on Kirby, and began wrestling him in the air.

But perhaps they should been paying more attention, as soon they careened down a canyon and into the chasm below, crashing head-first into the ground. After a bit of a groan, both got up and were ready for action. "Not bad, marshmallow." Sonic snarked as Kirby just frowned. "But how about we kick things up a notch?"

Kirby slowly focused against, gaining the Fighter Ability and taking a fighting stance. Sonic grinned, and blasted towards the Star Warrior. The Puffball launched out multiple energy attacks, Sonic sidestepping each one with a grin as he got closer.

With a "Hah!", Sonic performed a spin kick, but Kirby was quick to attack with his own kick. Soon Kirby and Sonic found themselves in a barrage of attacks, making all punches and kicks come off as nothing but barely visible blurs. "You're really better than I thought!" Sonic snarked before flipping over the Puffball and going for an axe kick, but found Kirby performing an uppercut that threw him off balance.

Soon enough, Kirby threw a Vulcan Jab that launched Sonic towards the rocky wall. The Hedgehog grunted before being rapidly struck into it. Unbeknownst to him, Tails was flying above. "Alright, I got it! Target locked...."

Tails fired a few shots from the X-Tornado, but Kirby jumped up and kicked them all back. The Tornado was hit, and began crashing as Tails made a bad impact, smoking being the only thing visible.

"TAILS!" Sonic cried, as Kirby turned to see the horrified Sonic now uncharacteristically silent. Sonic fell to his knees, seemingly having given up...before a dark aura began to flow around him.

"Y'know what?" Sonic said, a hint of anger in his tone. "I think I should take you down a peg. How about it?" He spoke, a grin of sheer rage appearing on his face before grabbing Kirby and dragging him across the rocky wall with a grin.

Sonic had became Dark Sonic.

"How's this, puffball?" Sonic spat, before tossing him aside and rapidly ramming into him. Kirby kept yelling as he felt each blow strike him, as Tiff and Tuff got to the bottom to see their friend being beaten the snot out.

"Kirby, no!" Tiff cried, as Tuff lifted a fan over his head. "C'mon Kirby, suck this up!" Throwing Kirby the fan, he quickly inhaled it, and became Tornado Kirby.

"Alright, I've had enough of you kids!" Sonic yelled, charging towards the two...before the wind suddenly became rough. He find himself being pulled away...as it turned out Kirby was creating a giant Tornado that made Sonic fly back in.

Sonic quickly swapped to the Hover Shoes and began maneuvering his way around inside the Tornado. Seeing that her friend had an opponent who was able to now fly, Tiff lifted the a small star shaped object. "Kabu, we need the Warp Star!"

Within the distance, a glimmer appeared before the Warp Star flew in, Kirby jumping on and allowing to fly with Sonic. Both heroes began trading blows once again, this time with more ferocity than before. Sonic grabbed onto the Warp Star and tried to punch Kirby off, but the Puffball grabbed him and threw him up, before creating storm clouds and causing lightning to strike.

The Hedgehog weaved away, and kept fighting Kirby as the lightning kept coming down. The more malicious Hedgehog was striking with ever growing rage, but Kirby was swift to hit him right into a lightning strike, making Sonic yell out before he knocked above the chasm.

The angry Hedgehog looked down, and saw something of note...the crashed X-Tornado, and Tails....alive and okay, albeit dazed.

Sonic paused, and began to calm. He was relieved...but this distraction was more than enough for Kirby, now Hammer Kirby, to come up and smack him into the distance with a powerful strike. Sonic yelled as he flew off, and when he opened his eyes, they practically nearly bugged out.

He was above water. Panicking, Sonic tried to make a run for it, but Kirby quickly striked, spiking him down into the water.

The moment Sonic landed in the water, he began to flail, trying to swim to no avail. Soon enough he got tired, and his eyes began to give in, slowly sinking to the bottom...

And then seven lights were visible.

Kirby landed, the Hammer Ability fading as Tiff and Tuff rushing over to cheer for him. "You did it, Kirby!" Tiff declared as Tuff chuckled. "Yeah, you sure showed that dork!"

Before Kirby could accept the praise, a giant blast of came out of the water, forcing all three to shield themselves from the ocean splashing onto them. When they looked up, they saw Sonic...but he was yellow.

Super Sonic has joined the fray.

"Cheap trick, Puffball." Sonic quipped before pointing to himself, grinning. "But I've got a few tricks of my own!" Within a second, Super Sonic flew forward and kicked Kirby into the sky, and blasted off to follow suit.

The Warp Star swooped in and saved Kirby, The Puffball swerved around Sonic, who kept missing his blows. Sonic paused, watching the Warp Star fly around. "It's fast, faster than even me! I just need an opening..." Sonic thought to himself. He closed his eyes, focusing as Kirby kept flying and doing potshots.

Soon he heard Kirby coming from behind, so he turned around and landed a powerful punch to the Puffball. Kirby was quickly sent back, but not before spotting the paint tools one of the Cappy Kids left when Sonic first arrived. Quickly inhaling, Kirby turned into Paint Kirby, making Tiff and Tuff smile. "Kirby's getting the stronger ones now!" Tiff cheered, as Sonic rushed as a yellow blur towards the puffball painting.

"Hey, jerk!" Tuff yelled. "Ever seen a big explosion?" Tuff tried to distract, which....actually worked, as Sonic replied "Several, actually--"

A paint nuke came out, hitting Sonic dead on and creating a humongous explosion that was oh-so colorful. Sonic got launched away, before grunting and launching golden beams at Kirby in a attempt to take him out. Kirby dodged and weaved each one, before he began inhaling...Sonic himself!

"Whoa, hey!" Sonic tried to resist, but found himself being pulled in more and more.. .until he was completely swallowed. Kirby sighed, before letting out a cheery "Poyo!" in victory.

Meanwhile, Sonic looked around his surroundings. He was in a starry void, surrounded by different things, from food to other enemies Kirby had devoured in the past. "Gah, this is gross. I'm not staying here for long." The Super Hedgehog spoke, before putting his hands out. "Chaos Control!"

Kirby began to walk back with his friends, just to suddenly see Sonic appeared in front of them. "What?! It's back?!" Tiff cried out. "But no one can escape Kirby's stomach! How did it...?" Tuff questioned, as Sonic shook his head "Tsk, tsk tsk. C'mon, I've already been doing all sorts of stuff that's not possible!"

Dropping the banter, Sonic flew towards Kirby, but the Star Warrior caught him and threw him high into the air. The Hedgehog managed to slow his ascent, and saw that Kirby had thrown him into outer space!

Before long Sonic saw Kirby following him, on the Warp Star. Thinking fast, he fired an invisible eye beam that knocked Kirby off his ride.

"Hey, Puffball!" Sonic called, getting Kirby's attention. "Thanks for taking it to space. I can finally go all in!" He joked, as Kirby stared blankly, before closing his eyes...and falling asleep?

"Huh? Well that's anti-climactic." Sonic flatly commented, before the Warp Star nearly hit him, making him barely evade a potential bad injury, and towards Kirby. The Puffball then snapped his eyes open, and swallowed it!

After a bit, an energy began to surge near Kirby's hand, before the Puffball grabbed it, revealing it to he none other than the Star Rod. With a smirk, Sonic blasted forward.

"Alright, pinky. Let's end this."

Meanwhile, back on Pop Star, Tails awakened and grunted, before fully standing. The twin-tailed fox looked around before seeing Tiff and Tuff looking the bright lights in the sky. Hearing the footsteps, the two turned around to see Tails, and got panicked. "Oh no, another monster!" Tiff cried, much to Tails's confusion. "Monster? I'm not a monster!" Tails explained.

"Yeah, right! You look just like the one fighting Kirby!" Tuff yelled, causing Tails to be more puzzled. "But...isn't Kirby the monster? The king told us that Kirby eats all the food supplies..."

Tiff became perplexed. "What?! No! Kirby stops the king from harassing the town! He keeps trying to find a way to get rid of him, even though Kirby isn't doing anything to us!"

"Wait, then that means..." Tails, and the two kids, slowly began to realize the truth; both were duped. Tails immediately placed his hand on a communicator.

"SONIC, STOP! WERE WE WERE TRICKED!"

However, his words sadly fell on deaf ears, as Sonic and Kirby were at each other's faces. Kirby lifted the Star Rod and swung with all his might, as performed a Spin Dash strike. The second the Star Rod's energy and Super Sonic collided, a giant explosion visible from space was seen.

After a moment of silence, two figures fell from space and made a hard impact onto the ground. After the dust cleared, Sonic was seen standing up, Super Form running out of juice. "That was a rough 10 minutes...but I did it!" Sonic chuckled, but then saw the two kids run over to their friend.

"KIRBY! Please be alright!" Tiff cried, as Tuff added. "C-C'mon, you've bounced back from worse! ...Right?"

After a bit, Kirby looked at his friends, muttering a weak "...P...Poyo...", attempting to raise his hand to them...

And then it limply dropped. The heavy breathing stopped. The body was still.

Kirby had fallen.

The two kids stared in disbelief, tears beginning to form as they quietly looked at the once happy baby Warrior. Sonic stood up, confused, before Tails walked up, a sad look on his face.

"Sonic...we were tricked." Tails began. "The King actually harassed the town, and that was the protector..." Sonic's eyes widened as he looked over to the now gone puffball, his two friends trying to get him to wake up.

Realizing his error, Sonic gritted his teeth, and turned to Tails. "Then let's pay that darn king a visit."

Results

Winner's Screen: Sonic barges into the Castle, and stares down Dedede, angrily. Dedede, unaware his trick had killed Kirby, is confused, and scared.

Loser's Screen: As Kirby gets a true funeral held, Nightmare, who is secretly watching laughs at his victory from a mere coincidence.

Thunder: Woo! What a way to start the Season!

Metroid: I don't know…I do kinda feel bad.

Thunder: I don't. Who cares about the sad stuff?

Metroid: I was referring to the fact the Kirby series has three losses now.

Thunder: OH. Right.

Metroid: Okay, so, this fight was a tricky one. In Base form, it's pretty obvious Sonic didn't really stand a chance against Kirby.

Thunder: Sure those Island and FTL feats are impressive, but Kirby destroying a meteor that would have destroyed Pop Star and having MFTL feats meant he unironically had the edge in stats!

Metroid: But Sonic still had some edges. First off, he's more skilled as a fighter. While Kirby able to adapt overtime, Sonic has more experience in fighting. Granted, Kirby could eventually adapt to Sonic too.

Thunder: Kirby did have the wider arrange of abilities too, compared to Sonic being mostly physical. If he got the chance, he could easily overwhelm the Hedgehog! But Sonic was just a tad bit clever.

Metroid: Remember, Sonic may be reckless, but he does strategize time to time. He once sensed where an invisible robot was just by listening for it, and even does suggest plans of attack time to time. Considering how naive Kirby is, even more so than his canon counterpart, it'd be easy for Sonic to consistently trick him.

Thunder: And once Sonic went Super, èq got more in his favor. While Kirby destroying a Pop Star wrecking meteor could range from multi-continental to planetary, Super Sonic's feats range from planetary to dwarf star!

Metroid: Granted, Kirby had the speed advantage. This also means that with some durability negation attacks, Super Sonic's durability would a moot point. But there's on last key that ultimately gives Sonic the edge; he better at solo battles.

Thunder: Kirby typically needs Tiff and Tuff, mostly Tiff, to help him out in battle, from deciding to inhale or helping him gain the advantage. Sonic on the other hand fights most enemies solo would occasion help from friends, but even then it's not to the same extent as Tiff and Tuff's constant interferences.

Metroid: And with Super Sonic being able to use Chaos Control, he can even escape the stomach dimension of being sent out if the cartoon. Sure, Super Sonic only lasts 10 minutes, but he's far smarter and would likely find a way to make use of that time as much as possible.

Thunder: But what about the Star Rod? It took down a universal threat, right? Wouldn't that be a key to victory?

Metroid: Actually, no. The Star Rod is Nightmare's only weakness, and Kirby lured him into a dreamscape where he was actually vulnerable. It's more akin to tricking Superman to fight you under a red star, then pulling a Kryptonite blaster.

Thunder: Fair. I guess in the end, Kirby's gonna have to let Sonic Hedgehog the spotlight. Let's hope no children watched this, because it definitely ain't 4Kids!
