Powers, Abilities and Weaponry[]

  • Superhuman Strength: Thanks to the effects of Compound V, Soldier Boy, one of the most powerful heroes before Homelander, possesses incredible levels of strength, evident during the Nicaragua incident when he took on many trained soldiers, effortlessly overpowering them without problems.
  • Superhuman Durability: Soldier Boy is incredibly durable enough to withstand rounds fired at point-blank range in his mouth from assault rifles, as well as being burned by oxy-acetylene flames, power-saw cuts and especially blades being stuck into his eyes, all thanks to the Russian scientists over several decades. He was also capable of withstanding all direct attacks from his own teammates of Payback and especially capable of withstanding punishing attacks from Homelander without injuries.
    • Toxin Immunity: Furthermore, Soldier Boy is very resistant towards any harmful chemical substances and poisons. One example of this is that he was unaffected by a roofied drink made by Bill Cosby and wasn't knocked out by it. Another example shows that he's completely immune to Halothane gas, even casually inhaling it like it he was smoking. But the most important example of this is that Novichok, one of the most dangerous toxins in the world, only knocks him out, even though it has little affect on him later.
    • Radiation Immunity: Soldier Boy is capable of withstanding exposure to radiation from 20 sieverts, and even that of the radiation he produces from his own body, which is far above the lethal radiation dosage for any normal person, all compared to a nuclear reactor.
  • Psychic Immunity (Tentative): During the Nicaragua incident, Soldier Boy was apparently able to resist the telepathy of Mindstorm, showing that he has some level of resistance towards the mind altering powers of his former teammate.
  • Superhuman Speed and Reflexes: Though the full extent is unknown, Soldier Boy is fast enough to take on several soldiers at once. His reflexes and speed even allow him to match Homelander's in a physical fight, shown when he could dodge the latter's laser attacks and countering them with his own.
  • Superhuman Agility: The muscles within Soldier Boy's own legs are powerful enough to let him jump higher than any person.
  • Superhuman Hearing: Being a Supe, Soldier Boy has better hearing than any normal person, capable of hearing certain frequencies for that matter.
  • Superhuman Stamina: Soldier Boy is able to fight off enemies for as long as he wants without even getting tired.
  • Superhuman Endurance: The pain tolerance of Soldier Boy is immensely high, even if he bleeds from any fight he gets into, he hardly feels a thing.
  • Regenerative Healing Factor: Though his endurance is immensely high from all kinds of harm, Soldier Boy managed to get a cut on his cheek from the prolonged heat vision blast from Billy Butcher, though it was, however, healed afterwards.
  • Longevity: Even though he was born in 1919, Soldier Boy hadn't aged since the second world war, showing that he had retained his physical age of himself for when he first took Compound V. Though while it's not proven yet, Soldier Boy seems to be immortal.
  • Radiation Generation: Having been exposed to so many levels of radiation due to all the experiments by the Russians, Soldier Boy was capable of producing radiation with his own body, turning him into a walking nuclear reactor. This ultimately gave Soldier Boy new and dangerous abilities that made him stronger than he ever was before. The downside to this is that he has no control over those powers when they get triggered by his emotional state due to all the PTSD, and furthermore, the explosions he is capable of generating can destroy entire city blocks.
    • Radioactive Aura: Because of the high levels of radiation that he admits all the time, it's possible that being anywhere near Soldier Boy for prolonged moments can cause radiation poisoning.
    • Radiation-Infused Energy Blasts: Gaining his newfound powers similar to that of a nuclear reactor, Soldier Boy is able to fire dangerously powerful blasts of radiation-infused energy from his chest. He can release said energy blasts in a straight path-like beam which lasts for several moments until the energy is depleted and he can also change the direction of said beam as it discharges, creating an omnidirectional wave of destruction. The beam's energy is incredibly destructive and especially powerful enough to obliterate a normal person, kill a supe, even fling one with such durability through solid walls and destroy a number of multi-story buildings without effort.
    • Self-detonation: Soldier Boy is capable of controlling the explosion of an even larger blast, and even how far it goes, and detonating it, triggered by any negative emotions he possesses. However, he can lose control of this power when overwhelmed by his own emotions.
      • Disempowerment: Somehow, Soldier Boy's radioactive power from the beams of energy are powerful enough to destroy the entirety of Compound V from the bloodstream of any supe, either killing them or in the case of the lucky few, turning them back to normal people.
  • Intimidation: Soldier Boy's presence makes many people feel terrified, such as Mother's Milk and Homelander for example. This is especially said for his teammates from Payback.
  • Indomitable Will: For over the century of being alive as well as fighting real life German soldiers, Soldier Boy was said to be absolutely fearless. He can, however, be intimidated by only a couple of things, like being put back to sleep for example.

Physical Attributes[]

  • Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Ever since the second world war, Soldier Boy had been known to be a skilled fighter due to all the military training he had earned and was even known to have killed great amounts of German Soldiers, though it's debatable whether this was true or not. He's skilled enough to fight and quickly overpower many soldiers, using a combo of hand-to-hand and shield attacks. Even after being held by the Russians and not fought anyone for four decades, Soldier Boy's skills didn't seem to deteriorate, shown when he still had it whilst fighting against Homelander.
    • Proficient Boxer: Following on from this, Soldier Boy has shown to fight similar to that of a boxer in close hand-to-hand combat, retaining a solid offense against many enemies with his incredible stregth.
    • Shield Proficiency: Soldier Boy is highly skilled when wielding his iconic and near-invulnerable shield. It can be used as a means of defence, but at the same time, Ben was also shown to use it as a blunt weapon against Supes, combined with his own strength, capable of crippling even the highest of durable Supes.
    • Knife Proficiency: Soldier Boy is very skilled when it comes to using combat knives, that is even applied to throwing them from a far distance.
  • Expert Marksman: Soldier Boy is an expert marksman in terms of using guns with amazing accuracy and even throwing combat knives as well.
  • Singer: Ben was shown to be a capable singer when he performed the song Rapture by Blondie. However, it's discovered that he was not a good singer.
  • Acting: Participating in productions of many films and propagandas, Soldier Boy is shown to be a great actor or at the very least decent in terms of the skill.

Weapons and Miscellaneous abilities[]

  • Shield: Soldier Boy's main iconic shield. A brass, golden-colored triangular shield in the shape of the Vought American logo. Said shield is used to either smash enemies or block their attacks and is pretty durable in terms of withstanding Heat Vision.
  • Combat Knife: Soldier Boy carries an eagle headed combat knife on him, which he can use for both a melee weapon or a throwing-knife.

Feats and Strengths[]

  • The strongest supes among most.
  • Survived inhaling toxic vapours for 40 years.
  • Beat Black Noir to a bloody pulp who survived the super terrorist Naquib's explosions
  • Launched a soldier hundreds of feet into the air with one swing of his shield
  • Capable of taking on Homelander head on, even surviving his heat vision and even nearly killing him. It has been stated that Homelander has survived every weapon on earth likely including nuclear bombs like the Tsar Bomba which hit with 50 megatons of tnt
  • Able to survive his own radiation explosions that are capable of destroying buildings.

Flaws and Weaknesses[]

  • Can be easily detected by radiation detectors due to gaining his radioactive powers which caused him to emit high levels of radiation.
  • Soldier Boy was severely traumatised by Russian torture and experiments he endured for nearly 40 years.
  • Powerful beings, like Homelander for example, can physically harm Soldier Boy.
    • Furthermore, the testing from the Russians were painful for him.
  • Despite being resistant towards many chemical substances, extremely powerful ones are capable of affecting him, such as the Novichok nerve agent, which, while normally could kill anyone in less than a minute, is capable of knocking out Soldier Boy.
