Magical Girl Raising Project vs The Eminence in Shadow! Usually stories tend to stick to specific character types to the letter. The main protagonist is usually an all loving hero in white, who can do no wrong and is the most wholesome person ever. Their rival is a brooding dark edgelord anti-hero with a tragic backstory. The villain is usually either a misunderstood monster or simply desired world domination. But, sometimes there are instances where the archetype is subverted. The pure and heroic protagonist wearing all white is the one with a tragic backstory and is willing to maim the villain to near death, while the edgy anti-hero is actually only like that to be cool and has no idea what he's doing. But which subversion of the usual character type is going to be walking away from here alive? Will the Magical Girl Hunter bring yet another rouge magic user to justice? Or will the eminence in the shadows prove himself as unstoppable as ever?

Wiz: To subvert a common character archetype is not an easy task. You cannot overdo it when changing how certain characters in a story should act, such as making the all loving hero too traumatized and violent, or the edgy anti-hero too happy and...you know, NOT edgy.
