History[]
Claiming to be from a perfectly normal family with no significant childhood trauma, Shizou's life became the opposite when he lost his temper from seeing his younger brother Kasuka with his pudding cup and injured himself while lifting up the fridge in anger. In time, Shizuo's body conditioned itself to be resistant to plan and effectively made him a superhuman. Though his friend Tom Tanaka helps him out in not attracting trouble in middle school, Shizuo's life is turned upside down when he meets the sociopath Izaya Orihara in high school. While he instantly hated Izaya, Shizuo grew to loath him due to the sociopath's constant actions to demonize him. He eventually comes to work for Tom's debt collection agency as a bodyguard. He is also a member of the Dollars, helping few of the other members who he know of while dealing with Izaya's manipulation of various events in the city. Despite his just animosity, Shizuo fears that his conflict with Izaya might end with someone getting killed.

The source of Shizuo's great strength is based from a genetic detect in his brain that lacks the means to shut down muscles in response to pain while also producing large ammounts of adrenaline. While this was detrimental to him as a child, Shizou's body adapted to resist the effects of his strength.

- Despite numerous acts of destroying public property, Shizuo was never arrested as either his employer pays for all damages, those he harms have criminal records so they cannot report him. But the biggest reason is that the idea of the young man with superhuman strength seems impossible.

Flaws[]
- Originally suffered from self-loathing, seeing himself as violence incarnate as his strength drove many people away from him. But after the Saika incident, fighting at his full potential against a mob of Saika-controlled people and not killing them, Shizou came to accept himself as a person.
- In the IndexVSDRRR novel, Shizuo lost against Kamijou Touma in a fist fight while the Imagine Breaker user is being injured badly.
- He is also shown to be extremely weaker and powerless in the eyes of Accelerator.
