Shikamara vs Robin is a What if? Death Battle featuring Shikamaru Nara from Naruto and Robin from Fire Emblem battle between tactical heroes

Description

Naruto VS Fire Emblem ! It's the fight between the closer tactical geniuses to the heroes.

Interlude

(*Cues: Wiz & Boomstick - Brandon Yates*)

Boomstick: You know, as much as I hate your science, and stuff, I have to say one thing about this, brains sometimes can defeat brawns. I feel like I've insulting myself for saying that...

Wiz: Well, unless you have some tools, weaponry, and tricks for this, then you might have a chance to win in this fight against monster, and army

Boomstick: Shikamaru Nara, a tactical ninja of the Hidden Leaf Village, and Nara clan.

Wiz: And Robin, a great tactician in Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Boomstick: He's Wiz, and I'm Boomstick.

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Shikamara Nara

Wiz: Konoha or Village Hidden In The Leaf where you'll see the ninja on this nation.

Boomstick: Yeah, ninja have some kind of ninja magic, but there's a clan that was quite powerful, the fatso Akimachi Clan, Catra user Hyuga Clan.

Wiz: Chakra.

Boomstick: Whatever, edgy with fishing rod symbol, Uchiha Clan, mind control/ Freaky Friday Yamanaka Clan, doggie Inuzuka Clan my favorite.

Wiz: But there's also one clan of the Hidden Leaf Village that shadow user and closest friends of Yamanaka, and Akimicha Clan, Nara Clan.

Boomstick: These clan are surprisingly talent, not only they specialize with shadow, but also they're tactician.

Wiz: But there's one member of the clan who is brilliant beyond any Nara Clan, Shikamaru Nara.

Shikamaru: Man, what a drag.

Boomstick: Him? He's brilliant?? He looks lazy.

Wiz: Don't let that appearance fooled you, he may look like a lazy ninja, but he is very talent. While he sleeping on class all the time, but he is smart, he has study some in class, along with his sensei, Asuma Sarutobi.

Boomstick: Yeah, but sometimes he thinks that everything life is such a drag, watching clouds up in the sky wishing that he was a clouds floating along, and even complain about women. Geez, and I thought I have a rough life with my ex-wife.

Wiz: Well, he's more than "Such a drag", Shikamaru is actually natural skills, you see unlike most of the ninja who's good at Taijutsu which it's hand-to-hand combat, using jutsu to get up close, Shikamaru use his different approach, he use every tools and tricks to keep his distance from his enemy.

Boomstick: Yeah, he use his ninja magic, but this isn't ordinary ninja magic, he can use Shadows!

Wiz: That's right, Nara Clan are specialize with shadow, you see Nara clan can trap you whether paralyzed you, make you move, stabbed you with it and/or strangle you, it's quite versatile in combat.

Popup: Shikamaru use his own technique of shadow, he named his own jutsu, Shadow Possession Jutsu, unlike Shadow Paralyze Jutsu, Shadow Possession can force his target to move against their will.

Boomstick: Geez, with that technique, I bet Peter Pan wish that he have that kind of thing to catch his pesky little shadow.

Popup: Shikamaru can also perform some jutsu other than shadow, however he needs help in order to perform jutsu.

Wiz: But he's more than just using Jutsu, he can strategize in field, analyzing opponents' weaknesses, and even trick opponent in combat.

Boomstick: And get this, his IQ was 200! He's almost smart as you, Wiz. But sadly even with all that, he didn't win in Chunin exam, he just... well, forfeited his match against Temari, but good thing about this though, that means Naruto can finally promote as Chunin, he'll tell Shikamaru what to do right now.

Wiz: Um... Unbelievably, Naruto wasn't the one who is promoted as Chunin, Shikamaru is.

Boomstick: Wait, WHAT!?! ARE YOU SERIOUS!?! Naruto has the won the tourney, and he was protagonist of this anime, every protagonist of the anime won, so what gives!?!

Wiz: Well, let's just say that winning wasn't really part of exam, you see, they have to judge them in combat, not who would win in this tourney, and when they saw Shikamaru's talent, and performance even he forfeit his match, they decided that Shikamaru would promoted Chunin, while Naruto and Neji ironically failed the exam. It's kinda complicated.

Boomstick: UGH! Jerk move! No wonder Orochimaru and most of the rogue ninja attack Leaf Village the most, they've just rip them off, and cheat their ways to make us look like fool! Maybe Naruto get a chance to be Chunin next time.

Wiz: Actually, most of the Ninja in the Hidden Leaf were promoted as Jonin and Chunin, while Naruto remain as Genin after he returned to the village from the past 3 years.

Boomstick: Wow I started to hate this place now.

(Wiz nod as agreement)

Boomstick: Rip off aside, Shikamaru have most of his tricks, he can make shadow move object, he did a little upgrade after Sasuke went rogue, and ready for fight, though he's still maintain his laziness sadly.

Wiz: Until fateful day of his sensei, Asuma Sarutobi has been killed.

Asuma was killed by Hidan

Wiz: Despite all attempt to save him, his dying breathe has pushed Shikamaru to the edge.

Boomstick: Yup, that's what his character development has began, he and his team are going to take down one of Akatsuki who is version of Deadpool, Hidan, who wouldn't even shut up even his head has been chop off, and finally defeated Hidan once and for all.

Wiz: But even all of this, Shikamaru still needs to defeat Akatsuki, and protect Village and go on to the Fourth Great Ninja War against Tobi, and he have some feats.

Boomstick: He held his own against flute girl name Tayuya, and defeated Temari, though he forfeited this match, but that's technically impressive feats, because he have caught her off guard.

Wiz: Like all of ninja, he has kept pace with Kakashi who have caught point-blank lightning, and he can reaction under seventy microseconds.

Boomstick: Sure he's not that fast, but considering that Hidan kept pace with his immortal buddy, Kakuzu who can shoot lightning, and Shikamaru even caught up with Hidan, then Shikamaru should be faster, he even held his own against Pain, and even survived destruction of Hidden Leaf that Pain have caused! Dang!

Wiz: He also lead the army to strategically and take down Asuma with a help with his friends, Ino and Choji, and even take on Ten-10, and Obito who turns out to be alive.

Boomstick: PLOT TWIST!! DUN DUN DUUUNNN!

Wiz: And with all that, he manage to win a war, but all of people have died, sacrifice themselves, and even lost his father in process.

Boomstick: And he wasn't even crying during war, he's tough, and powerful.

Wiz: He maybe powerful, but he's still have some weaknesses, while his shadow is powerful, but his shadow can only reach with length, and his Chakra is not infinite, he can wear down if he use it too much.

Boomstick: Just like me when I wore out after playing tug a war with Galactus, also while Shadow Possession, and Shadow Strangle Jutsu is quite powerful, but it won't hold against enemy who is stronger than him, but no matter, he's still have some goal to deal with, like he made a promise to Asuma that he'll watch over his daughter, and train her to be better like her father, and he got wife which it's Temari, and his son, Shikadai, keeping Ino-Shika-Cho legacy alive through generation, and even became advisor of Naruto who is now of Hokage.

Wiz: And with that, everyone in Ninja world will always remember that Shikamaru is a talent, and brilliant strategy of the Hidden Leaf.

Shikamaru defeated Kin by make her bang her back of the head against the wall

Shikamaru: And that's what I call using your head.

Robin

Wiz: Let's take a look of the history of Fire Emblem, where all of dragons, monster, and all out wars.

Boomstick: War... War never changes, they're basically like Final Fantasy, except the floodgates in fighting games if you know what I mean, and with hot chicks, I wish I was born in that time....

Wiz: Meet Marth, a hero king of his Kingdom, Altea, he have slain dragon along with commanding soldier, and led to his victory.

Boomstick: Centuries later, his descendant, prince Chrom, he led the group called, Shepherds, they're peace-keeper, and battle against Plegian.

Wiz: But with all that, they're having trouble keeping up with them.

Boomstick: So they've found a new friend, and ally, Robin the Boy Wonder!

(Playing Batman 1960's theme)

Wiz: WHOA WHOA WHOA!! NOT HIM! That one.

Robin: Time to tip the scales!

Wiz: While Chrom travel through country along with Fredrick and his younger sister, Lissa to protect Ylisse, they've found Robin unconscious on the field, and help him out.

Popup: Note: While it's unknown which their gender and their ending is canon, but regardless they still possess some power, and feats, however we'll stick with male Robin, and we're excluding Super Smash Bros, since we'll be focus on source material.

Boomstick: But for some strange reason after Robin wake up, he remember Chrom's name, but not his companions. He just amnesia. We'll explain it later.

Wiz: However despite that he has no memories of it, he was surprisingly great tactician, capable handling bandits, and soldiers on his own.

Boomstick: After they saw what Robin did, Chrom did a Batman recruit and basically saying "Wow! I'm gonna take you home with me, and tell my mom and dad how great you are, and keep you as a pet, and join a Bat Family!"

Wiz: Uh... Wrong franchise buddy.

Boomstick: Whatever.

wiz: But he isn't just tactician, but he's also surprisingly fighter.

Boomstick: Oh yeah, Robin is a swordsman, he can use any kind of swords, Bronze Sword wasn't powerful or impact, but it has greater durability, but he also carry the Levin Sword, it have electric current through, and it can summon lightning from the sky.

Popup: Robin has been trained by Fredrick and Lon'qu on off-screen in Support, so it's likely he/she learned it from them, and hone their skills.

Wiz: However when his opponent keep their distance from Robin, he can use Tome.

Boomstick: What is he gonna do? Read the bedtime story them to death?

Wiz: This is no ordinary book, this Tome have a magic, it can summon some of elements but it really depends on which spellbook that wielder got to perform incantations.l

Boomstick: Like red book can summon fire but it depends on enhance spellbooks, such as fire that can shoot fire, elfire enhanced version of Fire, arc fire that can fire blast, and Bolganone that can make a devastating blow! Volcano style!

Wiz: Yellow spellbook can summon Lightning, Thunder to shoot lightning bolts, Elthunder enhance version of Thunder, Arc Thunder that can do more damage, and Thoron that can shoot the light beam, and green spellbooks represent Wind, wind that can perform blade-like wind, Elwind enhance version of wind, Arc Wind

Boomstick: And he can use Dark Magic! Like what he did in Super Smash Bros.!

DUMMI: Actually Boomstick, Robin use Dark Magic in Super Smash Bros. is not canon, in main canon, Robin didn't use Dark Magic in Tactician and Grandmaster class. Only way if Robin can wielded Dark Magic is Dark Mage Class, which he wasn't.

Boomstick: Lame...

Wiz: But Robin still use some elements, and swords in Tactician, so it's-- What are you doing?

Boomstick: I just like to try on Bolganone, when I use that magic, I can use it on you and DUMMI.

DUMMI: Oh, this is gonna be great.

Wiz: Uh... You sure you know how to use it?

Boomstick: Wiz, you know I'm the expert of weaponry, I'm sure I can handle it, now then... Oooh alaboola alaboola, oooh boo ba!

(Bolganone blow up in Boomstick's face and collapse much to Wiz and DUMMI laugh)

Wiz: Well, that "blew" up in his face, am I right, DUMMI?

DUMMI: Ha ha ha ha.

(Boomstick slowly stick his middle finger at Wiz)

Wiz: Anyway, Robin use more than just weapon, while he battle against soldier, he can see his opponents' strengths, and weaknesses.

Boomstick: So he can see through enemy's strength, and weaknesses, just imagine how he knew my weakness.

Wiz: You mean like that time when you start the fireworks, but then accidentally blow up your shotgun leg?

Boomstick: THAT WAS MEANT FOR YOU NOT ME!! Ugh, I can't believe I get chewed out by my own daughter for this, and scolded me and tell I should be more mature as you...

Wiz: But Robin have one more tricks up his sleeves.

Boomstick: Yeah, here's the thing what we're gonna talking about...

Wiz: Turns out Robin does have a family, but not in the good way.

Boomstick: You see, his father, Validar is a religious worship to the dragon called, Grimleal.

Wiz: Grimleal is a religious who is worship the Fell Dragon name, Grima who bent on destroy the world, but first Exalted sealed him away for 1000 years.

Boomstick: But problem is, Validar need a vessel for Grima, so he found the vessel, and he choose his own son for this, but his wife take him away from crazy Grimleal, and Validar, because she knew that divorce doesn't exist in that timeline, and he wouldn't care about that anyway.

Wiz: Validar has been searching for Robin, all their search was all for naught.

Boomstick: Until he finally found him years later, and here's a dark, and twisted... After Chrom and Robin defeated Validar, there's a.... Uh....

(Robin kill Chrom)

Boomstick: There is it. But don't worry, Chrom that we know is not dead. You see, what you see here, is actually Grima taking over Robin somehow, but that was a future Robin that he was dead, and taking over the body, and years later, Lucina and children went Back To The Future, and Future Trunks style went back to the past to prevented that from happening, but Grima follow them, but his body didn't take, so that's how it happens... Ugh, this series is making my head hurts...

Wiz: After learning about this, Robin choose Chrom and others to fight against Validar, and Grima.

Boomstick: And he has proven how powerful he is, he dodged lightning, and he help Chrom and Shepherd to defeat Walhart, Priam Ike's descendant, Aversa who is tactic as Robin's, and even take on Risen who is A FREAKING ZOMBIES!! And he escape from Grima's abyss.

Wiz: Speaking of which, remember that Robin is a vessel to Grima's? He basically like a limiter to him, should he reach his limit, he'll briefly unleashed Grima.

Popup: Robin wasn't really unleash Grima, but it have shown hints that he almost did during their final battle against Validar, and he was able to overcome it somehow.

Boomstick: And Robin and his friends manage to takedown Grima and changed the future which their future selves couldn't do.

Wiz: However one thing they have to takedown Grima is he either seal away for 1000 years, or let the vessel of Grima kill him for good but at the cost of their life.

Boomstick: But Robin still alive, and lose Grima's power, either way, Robin had destroyed Grimleal, so they won't bring Grima, ending terror once and for all, and he have a new family which Validar has failed to do so as father, I wish there's harem route ending.

Wiz: But Robin would willing sacrifice himself to protect his new friends and family, create peace with nation, and everyone of Ylisse will always remember Robin is a brilliant tactician, and their bonds are stronger than Grima's might.

Robin: Take heart! We're not alone! Chrom awaits us beyond these men! Now clear the path!

Intermission

Wiz: Alright, combatants are set, and we've been run the data for all possibilities.

Boomstick: IT'S TIME FOR DEATH BATTLE!

Death Battle !

(*Cue: Emerald Heroes - Therewolf Media)

In the forest, Robin walking through the forest all alone, on top of tree, mysterious adversary watching, and leap to another branch tree fast

Robin feel likes someone is watching until... He stop moving, causing him confused.

Robin: Huh?? I can't move...!

Just then, he heard mystery voice

???: Hey.

Robin look up and saw Shikamaru

Shikamaru: You've trespassing of the Konoha, I like to ask you to come with me for some question.

Robin: Sorry, I was just passing through, I didn't mean to cause trouble.

Shikamaru: Sorry, but I can't let you go, you seem suspicious, so I have to take you in for custody.

Robin barely move, and grab Tome, and use Elwind to fire Shikamaru, but Shikamaru quickly dodge

Shikamaru: What kind of jutsu is that??

Robin: Please move aside, I don't want to hurt you.

Shikamaru: Well, you just did.

Shikamaru throw shuriken at Robin, but he dodge it and then retaliate by using Thoron Tome, and fire at Shikamaru, but quickly dodge, and use Shadow Stitching Jutsu, but Robin dodge it, and hide in the forest.

While hiding, Robin and Shikamaru strategize about their opponent

Robin: So he can use shadow to attack me from the distance, and by the look of him, he's a strategy too...

Shikamaru: So he can use some Jutsu with his book... And he's calm, and collected, I wouldn't surprise if he's strategy too...

Robin/Shikamaru: If that's a case, then I need to find the opening.

Robin use Arc Fire Tome and hit-near Shikamaru, while Shikamaru toss kunai knife at Robin but both quickly evade their attack, Robin then starting to praise at Shikamaru.

Robin: I have to say, you're good.

Shikamaru: Heh, I could've said the same to you, but....

Shikamaru's shadow lift kunai knife, and throw it behind Robin's back.

Robin: Ugh!

Shikamaru: Always look your surroundings.

Robin pull the knife off his back, and grab the Levin Sword

Robin: Thanks for advice, now it's my turn.

Shikamaru: I hate to be a barer of bad news, but you can't hit me from the distance with weapon like that--

Robin summon lightning and hit Shikamaru, cause him to fall forward, but quickly recover.

Shikamaru: Okay, should've see it coming...

Robin charge at Shikamaru, and swing his sword at Shikamaru, but he dodge it, but leave it scratch on his chest, then Robin give Shikamaru an ironic echo

Robin: Always look your surroundings.

Shikamaru: (annoyed) Touchè...

Robin use Bolganone Tome, and nearly blew up Shikamaru, luckily Shikamaru manage to avoid his attack, and hide again and thinking about the plan

Shikamaru: I got to do something about his book, he's definitely no pushover...

Robin searching Shikamaru, but he have to keep his guard up, and wait for his attack, until...

Robin: Huh?

Shikamaru charging at Robin head on

Robin: There you are!

Shikamaru about to punch Robin, but Robin block his attack, until he realize that he forgotten about Shikamaru's Shadow.

Robin: OH NO!!

Robin caught by Shikamaru's shadow again

Shikamaru: Gotcha, you've fought well, but....

Shikamaru perform the hand sign

Shikamaru: It's over.

Robin look at the shadow, but with the hand, and strangle Robin's neck as Robin began to choke

Robin: (choking) No.... Not like this..!

Robin's power of Grima was unleashed and blast Shikamaru, much to Shikamaru shocked, and quickly avoid his attack causing him to let go Robin, Robin nearly collapse gasping the air, however he resist Grima, and eventually control Grima

Robin: Okay.... I finally free...

Robin Arc Wind Tome, and cast a spell and fire Arc Wind, Shikamaru try to avoid, but it was too late, he has been hit, however... Shikamaru use substitution jutsu

Robin: How in the heck!?

Shikamaru appear behind Robin, and throw kunai knife with paper bomb, Robin look behind him, and quickly use Fire Tome on Paper Bomb however causing to explode blowing both Robin and Shikamaru away

In smoke clear, both Robin and Shikamaru survived but their clothes has been torn follow by blood, nearly exhausted, Shikamaru perform the hand sign

Shikamaru: Don't have much chakra left... Time to end this fight quickly...

Robin: I have to end this fight quickly... It's now or never....

Robin use Wind Tome, created dust surrounding the areas

Shikamaru: That's not going to work. Shadow Stitching jutsu!

Shikamaru's shadow went through dust, heard the stabbed, and Robin's scream and agony

Shikamaru: Should've dodged that, and you should know that I won't fell from that trick, now.... It's time to say goodbye, that is your grave.

Shikamaru use last of his shadow land on killing blow on Robin, however.... through dust, lightning hit Shikamaru on his chest quick in the flash

Shikamaru: !?

Shikamaru look at dust starting to clear, and revealed that Robin use Thoron Tome, while he has been stabbed by Shikamaru's shadow

Robin: Ch-Checkmate....

With Shikamaru's dying breathe, his last word

Shikamaru: Oh man... What a drag....

Then collapse and died

As Shikamaru died, his shadow started to disappear letting Robin go, Robin pay Shikamaru a respect

Robin: You've fought well, tactician... You've fought well...

K.O.!

Conclusion

Boomstick: Welp, looks like Shikamaru won't be taking care of Asuma's daughter now, but at least he has finally sleeping on the clouds as he always wished for...

Wiz: Both Shikamaru and Robin were surprisingly evenly matched with their intelligence, and learned their each other's weaknesses, and Shikamaru was technically have far more experience, and faster than Robin's, so he might have a chance to defeat Robin.

Boomstick: But Robin is no slouch, sure Shikamaru is tricky, but Robin has fought similar as Shikamaru who is tricky and deceiving like him, such as Aversa, and another tactician,Excellus, and with his limited option, that'll make Shikamaru difficult to analyse Robin and his Tome.

Popup: While Shikamaru fought Kakuzu with the help with his team, but he wasn't directly fight Kakuzu, despite this however, Robin was above of Kakuzu's level.

Wiz: While Shikamaru's shadow is very versatile, however unlike Shikamaru's, Robin have better option than Shikamaru, with Tomes, and sword, that's last long than Shikamaru's chakra.

Boomstick: So Robin definitely have the edge over arsenal than Shikamaru, just as long he keep his distance from Shikamaru, and his shadow.

Popup: While Shikamaru have stealth, but Robin has spotted person who've hidden before.

Wiz: Although, while Shikamaru analyse their strengths, and weaknesses, but the problem is so does Robin, and they both can counter each other's during battle.

Boomstick: But since they were even with their strategies, we have to see how powerful they are.

Wiz: Shikamaru has fought and held his own against Pain, and Jiraiya manage to defeated at least one Pain, and he can destroyed mountain, which put it at least 30.3 megatons of TNT.

Popup: While Shikamaru wasn't that powerful as Naruto, or Jiraiya, but he have held his own against one of member of Akatsuki such as Hidan who have captured Jinchuriki, which it's highly implied that he's somewhat same level at Jiraiya.

Boomstick: That's bloody powerful, but now we have to check his durability feats, when he has survived the destruction of the Hidden Leaf that Pain caused.

Wiz: While it is inconsistent to see how big is the Hidden Leaf Village, but we give a little benefit of the doubt and see how big is the Hidden Leaf Village.

Boomstick: So let's take a look about how big is the village, shall we?

Wiz: With the size of diameter of the Hidden Leaf, it's have at least 150km.

Boomstick: That's shorter than Las Vegas's, and with larger crater, that'll makes it even more bigger.

Wiz: Let's highball this a bit, we can assumed that Pain's power output was at 400.6 megatons of TNT.

Popup: Although, Shikamaru and most of the Ninja survived from Pain's Almighty Push was most likely was saved by Katsuya, but it wasn't directly evidence that he was saved by her, but only leaves him with a broken leg.

Boomstick: So with his power, and durability, he's definitely proven to be that strong, as for Robin, we can easily scale him to Fell Dragon, Grima.

Wiz: Just to proven his scale with Grima, Robin possessed the power of Grima, and he's a host of Grima's, he manage to escape from Grima's abyss, and he has proven that he share the power, and put the end of Grima once and for all.

Boomstick: Now there's a reason for that, let's check how powerful is Grima.

Wiz: With Grima's capability, he destroyed Gem that help awakened Chrom's Exalted powers which Lucina's clarified that it's impossible to break but the most impressive feats that Grima did was destroyed the whole continent of Ylisse, using his size, and Ylisse, we can tell that Grima's power was at least 640 gigatons of TNT.

Boomstick: That's thousands times greater than Shikamaru's capability. And not only that, but Robin has taken hit from Grima like a champ!

Wiz: Sure, Robin wasn't that powerful, but it is implied that Robin was able to show that he can take on Grima, and he have shown some of his power, even if Robin was only half of Grima's power, that's still would've been too much for Shikamaru.

Popup: Even we highball Shikamaru, and lowball Robin, Robin still have enough power to take him down.

Boomstick: And let's not forgets, Robin have better stamina than Shikamaru who have little more chakra, while Robin have more weapons that last long.

Wiz: Don't get us wrong, with so many feats on his own with speed, and experience, he might have a chance to defeat Robin, he just couldn't match with Robin's arsenals, power, and durability.

Boomstick: Deer lord, he has been outsmart, and looks like he ROBIN his victory.

Wiz: The winner is Robin.

• The connection between Shikamaru and Robin is that both were tactician who use strategy to this battle, Shikamaru and Robin use their powers to fight them from distance (Shikamaru's Shadow jutsu, Robin's tomes), they both were born on the clan who is a animal (deer, and dragon respectively), Shikamaru and Robin also fight the monsters who threaten to destroy the world and has been sealed over centuries (Ten Tails, Grima respectively), they both use their tactics to learn their opponents weaknesses, during the time, both Shikamaru and Robin personality change after their close friends died (Asuma Sarutobi, and Chrom, respectively) (Shikamaru started out as lazy, but become maturity after Asuma's death, and after Robin learned about future Chrom has died because of him/her, Robin blamed him/herself and willingly to sacrifice him/herself to prevent Grima), at the end, both Shikamaru and Robin became advisor to (Naruto, and Chrom, respectively)
  • Both Shikamaru and Robin also have a child who share the voice actor Todd Haberkorn (Shikadai, Male Morgan if you played as Female Robin)
