Shadow the Hedgehog vs Spade is a What-if? Death Battle by Ultmswag. It features Shadow the Hedgehog and Spade.
Description[]
They are both the rivals of the main character of their respected series but which one of these two edgy animals will prevail in the end?
Intro/Interlude[]
Ken: Any game that has anthropomorphic animals as the main characters will always have a rival in them no matter what they look like.
John: And some are inspired by a famous series to try out-do the one that inspired them even if the indie series one wants to be much more powerful than the one that inspired them, and these two edgelords are the perfect example.
Ken: Shadow the Hedgehog, the Ultimate Life-form and arch-rival to Sonic the Hedgehog...
John: and Spade, a Red Scarves Top Mercernary and rival to Sash Lilac.
Ken: I'm Ken Greenwood and with me is John Newton and it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills, to find out who would win... A DEATH BATTLE!!!
Shadow The Hedgehog[]
(*Cues Determination from Shadow the Hedgehog*)
Ken: The Ark, The First Space Colony created by mankind but what some people didn't know about it at all was that it was the home of where scientists decided to make weapons.
John: What kind of weapons you may be asking? Simple, weapons of MASS DESTRUCTION!!! HOORAY FOR BIG BOOMS!!!!
Ken: Some of these weapons included the Artificial Chaos and the Eclipse Cannon, but one of them stood above the rest.
John: The King of Edgelords himself, Shadow the Hedgehog.
Ken: Shadow was created with Professor Gerald's research and some of Black Doom's DNA, who is the leader of the Black Arms an alien race that harvested humans as a fuel source.
John: That's gross and disturbing, anyway this edgy hedgy has pretty much a lot of the same abilities as Sonic but with some Chaos Powers as a bonus, like the Chaos Blast, Chaos Spear, Chaos Lance, and even the famous Chaos Control which can alter time and space.
Ken: In other terms of chaos powers, he can use Chaos Boost to increase his strength and his own Chaos Powers, or Chaos Punishment to where he if he has a sword of some kind can deliver a quick strike with the blade, do a kick, or accelerate at top speed.
John: Man, now I want to do a Chaos Blast right now.
Ken: Good news then, I've been working on a formula that can give you these chaos powers for the rest of your life.
John: That wouldn't happened to be the glowly jelly beans right?
Ken: What did you do?
John: Well my pet cat Whiskers was wandering around like always and I was wondering why he was launching energy like spears at his least favorite toys.
Ken: You need to keep that cat under control then and tell him to not go into my experiment making room.
(*Cues I am all of me*)
John: Anyway if his Chaos Powers aren't enough he's got super strength and super speed that can rival Sonic's own speed, but he also really shines in durability too like surviving a fall from outer space back down to Earth.
Shadow: "Maria... this is what you wanted right, right? This my promise I made to you."
Ken: But that's not all though, if he manages to gather all 7 Chaos Emeralds he can transform into Super Shadow increasing his power 1000 fold and of course it has a time limit depending on the number of rings he has. He also wears inhibitor rings on his arms and legs removing these greatly increase his physical abilities like his strength and speed, and as a bonus since he was born with the Chaos drives that were implemented in him as and according to the Sonic wikia his super form is said to contain and I quote "Ultimate Power".
John: Even without his super form he was strong enough to flip a bus over onto it's other side with just one hand. And fought through mind control with sheer willpower and resolve, DAMN!!!
Ken: Though he isn't perfect, he is easily manipulated due to his amnesia he had. But after he finally figured out who he was he promised Maria even in the afterlife to protect the planet he now lives on, in other words he mind appeared to be wiped out easily until he fully promised Maria and decided to finally put his past behind him.
John: And I almost forgot one thing to mention, he is also extremely cocky and arrogant in a fight but it rarely results in him losing to someone... unless it's Sonic.
Ken: Still even with or without a weakness, he will step in to save the world to promise the beautiful Maria to learn that he will forever keep that promise.
John: HOORAY FOR THE KING OF EDGELORDS!!! I'm bowing my heads low because All Hail Shadow! Also Sega should actually revive Maria into a hedgehog right now.
Ken: I agree...
Shadow: "You'll regret this, doctor... Even if I'm not real... I'm still the ultimate life form... Shadow the Hedgehog!"
Spade[]
(*Cues Aqua Tunnel Boss theme*)
Ken: The Red Scarves, a mysterious guild of ninjas and assassins who are also crooks for hire.
John: And one of their highest ranking members is an edgy panda that is the younger brother to Dail, his name is Spade. Yup, of all things he was named after a card suit.
Ken: Which will be fitting when get into that later, he was raised by the King of Shuigang and a mother who is currently unknown in the Shuigang kingdom however Spade decided to take a different path of his life and be a member of the Red Scarves meeting Lilac & Carol in the process, but after murdering someone Lilac & Carol left making Spade hold on to a personal grudge against them and stick with the Red Scarves for a while rising to be one of the groups top mercernaries, but it's unknown if he's actually the official leader.
John: Because of him being a top mercenary he gained some martial arts abilities and remember his name, yeah his main weapon is a stack of playing cards. And he can throw three at once and charge can damage enemies easily. Still may not be as good as Ralph Wolf's in my opinion.
Ken: You've been playing Looney Tunes World of Mayhem too?
John: Yup and personally I think Wildcard Wolf is one of the best rare toons in the game and I already have him at 7 gold stars and his tune up being maxed out.
Ken: Well then, looks like I need to catch up on that. Anyway Spade is also shown to use a unique move called the duel crash with this move he can through multiple cards at once at a diagonal angle while in the air, and he has a unique move that only his family line had.
John: THE EXTREMELY IRRITATING FLASH JUMP!!! With it he can air dash twice in any direction that he chooses and it basically dodges an opponent's attacks and counters back at the same time. He's also quite durable since he can tank attacks from Lilac, Carol & Milla. More specifically Lilac's Dragon Boost,Carol's Wild Claw, and Milla's Super Shield Burst. He's also fast enough to outrun and damage the Robopanther that Serpentine was pilotting. But if there was one thing we forgot some of his cards can turn into explosives dealing multiple damage at once even though it was the time before he was changed into a Panda.
Ken: And honestly a good move on Stephen DiDuro's part since he wanted to turn Freedom Planet into it's own personal series. He can also use the Flash Jump to dash so many times underwater.
John: Seriously though who would take an edgy hamster seriously, cuz I wouldn't.
Ken: Same here, but while Spade has these few skills helping him, he is extremely arrogant but still he will prove himself time & time again on why he's the Red Scarves Top Mercenary, even if it's still unofficial if he's the actual leader of the Red Scarves yet.
Spade: "You're here to ask for help, aren't you? Couldn't handle that little quest of yours on your own?"
Pre-Death Battle[]
Ken: Looks like the combantants are ready, let's end this debate once and for all.
John: It's time for an EDGE BATTLE!!!!!!!
Death Battle[]
Shadow is taking a walk in the forest and notices the last green chaos emerald laying on a rock
Shadow: Finally, the last Chaos Emerald, good thing I already have the other 6 emeralds and now to find an opponent that is worthy of my skills and powers.
Spade notices that Shadow got the Chaos Emerald before him and immediately challenges him to a fight.
Spade: HEY! Where do you think you're going with that?
Shadow: Why should you care? It's none of your business at all buddy.
Spade: But if you're looking for an opponent. Gets into a fighting stance Then you got one and the winner gets the green gem you have but I know you won't go easy at all.
Shadow: Hmph alright then. Gets into a fighting stance Prepare yourself to fight the Ultimate Lifeform and that's me, Shadow the Hedgehog.
FIGHT!!
Spade delivers some throwing cards being thrown at Shadow but Shadow counters with Chaos Spears
Shadow starts delivering some punches to Spade
Spade: Not Bad.
Shadow: I'm just getting warmed up.
"Shadow unleashes a Chaos Lance but Spade Dodges with a Flash Jump"
Shadow: Chaos Control!
"Shadow freezes time and starts delivering a rush of blows and Chaos Spears to and around Spade, then finishes with the snap of his finger"
Spade: See if you can dodge this.
Spade jumps in the air and begins using his duel crash, but Shadow teleports behind him in the air and smacks back down to the Ground, Spade then gets up back up quickly Spade: Man you're a tough opponent but I've dealt with tougher opponents than you.
Shadow: I've only just begin my card-throwing friend.
*Shadow pulls out his signature Shadow Gun and starts firing at Spade but Spade uses his Flash Jump to dodge all of the bullets*
Shadow: Play time is over my card wielder.
Spade: I would have to agree, my cool annoyance because the gems you have... will be mine for me to sell.
Shadow: We'll see about that Mr. Scarf-neck.
Shadow throws away the gun after it was out of ammo then uses the seven chaos emeralds and goes super
Spade: Hmph even a form change won't beat me.
Super Shadow: Don't be full of yourself buddy, it'll ruin you and I'll show you why.
Super Shadow starts using Chaos Boost while Spade Jumps into the air and begins using his duel crash again but the attack does nothing
Spade: (In his mind) I know I'm in trouble but if I can land at least an attack it would slow him down a bit.
Spade: Let's finish this then Blondie.
Super Shadow: Sorry to do this early but it ends here... Chaos BLAST!!!
Spade: NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo....
Super Shadow Unleashes a huge Chaos Blast that literally disintegrates Spade, after Spade was no where found by Shadow he turned back into his normal form
Shadow: It's a shame that I had to do that but I actually liked the guy, oh well back to training to beat Sonic again and if I could beat that guy again, I'd feel much better than I did on killing that cool Panda.
Shadow then teleports away to cover up his tracks from murdering Spade.
KO!
Post-Death Battle[]
John: Holy hell that was awesome!!!
Ken: While Spade is certainly proven to go toe to toe with Team Lilac, Shadow outclassed him in every possible category.
John: Even in his base form Shadow could have ended the fight really quickly once he took off his inhibitor rings if Spade's durability wasn't that high.
Ken: Even when we compared Spade's durability to Lilac's it's possible that he trains only to surpass her and not for saving the world. Also Spade's only Arsenal was playing cards, and Shadow had a vast arsenal to pack a punch.
John:The only exception is that Spade's Cards can counter Shadow's Chaos Spears, sure Spade can tank attacks from team Lilac, but that's nothing compared to Shadow falling from space back down to the Earth.
Ken: Spade was certainly a difficult opponent in his series but Shadow's strength, Super form and chaos powers were the perfect tools needed to take out the Red Scarfed Mercenary.
John: Looks like Spade couldn't beat his own Shadows.
Ken: The Winner is Shadow the Hedgehog.
