- Connections: Both are legendary warriors who wield long katana-like weapons and are considered the strongest of their kind (SOLDIERs and Demigods, respectively), even after their falls from grace (Sephiroth went mad after learning the truth of his origins and Malenia unleashed the Scarlet Rot) which involved them seeking out means of great power (the Lifestream and Great Runes, respectively). Both were also altered by an alien being before they were even born (with Jenova's Cells and with an Outer God's Scarlet Rot, respectively) and both take on more powerful, mythological forms; Saifer-Sephiroth and the Goddess of Rot, respectively. Both have also fought against warriors who wield massive swords; Cloud Strife and Radahn, respectively. Both serve as secret, incredibly hard bosses in certain games (Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 and Elden Ring, respectively).
