Carl: Over the years, creators have created hundreds of undead warriors.

Yazo: But these two are some of the most popular, and most proficient ones.

Carl: Scorpion, the ninja from hell.

Yazo: And Revenant, the human assassain turned robot...assassain. He's Carl and I'm Yazo.

Carl: And it's our job to analyze their amour, weapons, and skills to figure out who would win, a Death Battle

Scorpion demands vengeance in Death Battle!

Carl: Hanzo Hasashi was born into the clan of the Shirai Ryu ninja clan.

Yazo: Hanzo's dad forbade him from going the ninja training, hoping to have his son avoid a life of violence. In other words, he wouldn't let his son have fun.

Carl: There's more fun than just murdering people in cold blood.

Yazo: You kidding? I prefer just stabbing them in the neck, and seeing the life leave their body.

Carl: What I prefer depends on the person. If they just happened to be a target, I'll give them a quick and painless death, like poison gas or a sniper shot. But if I hate them, I'll torture them until they die.

Yazo: That was the creepiest conversation we've ever held.

Carl: Yeah...Uh, anyways, back on topic, after Hanzo became an adult and his dad died, Hanzo decided to become a ninja in order to sustain his family. He gained the nickname Scorpion, due to his fast and deadly fighting skills.

Yazo: But this ended up back firing on him. During a deadly game of CTF, Scorpion had gotten murdered by the Lin Kuei.

Carl: Scorpion had then been risen as a hellspawn by a necromancer named Quan Chi, who convinced Scorpion that Sub-Zero, also known as Bi-Han had murdered his family.

Yazo: During his quest for vengeance, Scorpion discovered that he had a few new abilities.

Powers and Abilities

• Superhuman Physical Prowess: Scorpion is physically superior to any normal person.
• Master of Martial Arts: Scorpion is the Shirai Ryu's grandmaster and teacher, knowing many types of martial arts such as Hapkido and Pi Gua.
• Stealth Mastery: As a Shirai Ryu assassin, Scorpion has mastered the art of stealth.
• Wraith Physiology: Reborn from the fires of the Netherrealm, Scorpion is an undead wraith.
  • Hellfire Manipulation: Being a native of the Netherrealm, Scorpion can call upon and shape the realm's hellish flames, which is used to burn the souls of the damned. He can summon them from below an unsuspecting opponent
  • Hellfire/Fire Immunity: As stated by Quan Chi in the MKX comics, Scorpion cannot be burned by hellfire or fire and is immune to the element.
  • Poison Immunity: Scorpion has shown resistance to toxins and hallucinating drugs. This was shown when Scorpion was poisoned by a possessed Forrest Fox, he simply snapped out of it, turning into Scorpion, and the hallucinations and toxic effects disappeared.
  • Ice Resistance: During their fight with a mind controlled Sub-Zero, Scorpion has shown resistance to his ice powers. He can resist being freeze shattered/frostbitten by Sub-Zero's ice which was able to turn an entire building into ice, making it brittle.
  • Teleportation: Increases his mobility and has massive range with it, as he can teleport from realm to realm (realms are described as planets in the verse) and can use it to disappear for a while to surprise attack. He can activate it with a mere thought and can even teleport while restrained. Scorpion is also capable of teleporting without making a sound, this proved useful when he teleported on board the helicopter in first chapter of MKX.
  • Netherrealm Portals: Scorpion can open portals to the Netherrealm for him to access the realm or kick his opponents into it, usually coming back as a charred body.
  • Resurrection: First seen in the MKX comics, Scorpion can resurrect from death in a few hours, as shown when he was first murdered by Havik.
  • Netherrealm Empowerment: Scorpion's powers and strength increases as long as he remains in the Netherrealm. He also has the added benefit of weakening any magical being or item when he brings them to the cursed realm which is stated to drain magical energies.
  • Enhanced Awareness: Scorpion is capable of tracking targets that are far away or out of his sight. This proved useful when he could still sense Quan Chi even though he was nowhere in his sight after Quan Chi escaped the Netherrealm and fled to Outworld.
  • Summoning: Scorpion is capable of summoning demonic Netherrealm minions that can attack and hold the enemy in place. They can also self-destruct, and the resulting explosion vaporizes the enemy's flesh out of the skeleton. He also has the ability to summon giant flaming skulls that can fly and shoot explosive projectiles and breathe hellfire.
  • Necromancy: With the Shirai Ryu now resurrected by the Elder Gods in an undead state, he is capable of summoning them to aid him in battle. These ninjas can summon hellfire below their opponent and often fight in numbers.
  • Intangibility: Scorpion first showcased this move in Mortal Kombat 11. With a thought, he can turn into a flaming skeleton that allows him to phase through objects, vaporizing anything he comes into contact with.

  • Bursts into flames and flies through opponent, destroying the abdomen and revealing spine, then slices head off with katana, kicks head into air, and spears them mid-air through mouth with kunai

  • Spears glowing hot kunai into head, jumps over them and burns into the ground, moves under opponent, wrapping chain down their body and jumps out in front, slicing opponent in half with chain.

X-Rays/Fatal Blow

• Scorpion's Sting
  • Teleports behind opponent, punches them in the gut, then in the jaw, breaking it and knocking opponent down. Then stomps on opponent's chest, breaking rib cage.
• From Hell
  • Flies through opponent with fire, then knees chin, breaking it and sending opponent flying, Spears gut and forehead, breaking skull. Yanks chains, throwing opponent to ground face-first, breaking neck
• Get Over Here
  • Slices opponent with katana three times, stabs eyes with kunai, kicks opponent back, pulls them back in to kick kunai in deeper. Grabs head and slams them to the ground, pushing kunai in even deeper

Carl: After murdering Bi-Han, and then realizing that Bi-Han didn't kill his family, but it was actually Quan Chi! Whoops.

Yazo: And so, Scorpion made it his personal mission to protect Bi-Han's little brother, also known as Sub-Zero, Kuai Liang.

Carl: But Scorpion had to do some impressive things in order to do so.

Strength and Durability

• Beat up Raiden, a god who can create massive and destructive thunderstorms. Raiden is on the same power level as Fujin, who stated that he could tear down a mountain, further reinforcing Scorpion's strength against deities.
• Defeated and heavily wounded an empowered Sub-Zero {1} who could flash freeze entire buildings and shatter them in one punch. {1}
• Broke out of Sub-Zero's ice with physical strength {1}. Keep in mind his ice is capable of withstanding an explosion that destroyed the entire underground base for the Cyber Lin Kuei which is large enough to contain an army.
• Can rip out spines which require 1 million Newtons/102 tons of force. One example of this feat was when he ironically performed the fatality on the Elder Sub-Zero. {1}
• Can yank off heads with his spear using one hand.
• Can shatter diamond blocks and titanium figures with a single chop like all kombatants.
• Defeated Kung Lao, who also defeated Kintaro. who tanked a massive nuclear blast. {1}
• Fought on par with Taven, who bested Raiden, a god capable of destroying an entire temple with a self destructive blast.
• Tanked getting telekinetically slammed into a shipping container by Kenshi and also tanked getting tossed several meters into the air and thrown to a truck. He was unfazed from this.
• Oneshotted Hsu Hao. {1}
• Withstood multiple shock treatments from Raiden {1} {2}
• Shattered Havik's knees and brutally beat up his head to a pulp. {1} {2}
• Bested and killed his demonic self {1} {2}

Speed

• Blitzed and punched himself 3 times within the time that the ripple of the first punch was still fresh when he finished. {1}
• Grabbed Takeda before Raiden's lightning could shock him. Note that the lightning was continuous and lightning can move up to Mach 1282.8 {1}
• Moves fast enough in combat to appear as a blur. {1}
• Kept up with Sub-Zero in combat , a combatant who can dodge explosions. Keep in mind that explosions can move up to Mach 23 speeds.
• Blitzed multiple Special Forces soldiers. {1}
• Instantly teleports with a mere thought {1}

Intelligence and Experience

• Skilled enough to master his signature Kunai-tipped chain. It bears resemblance to an ancient assassination weapon known as the Rope Dart, a weapon that is extremely hard to master. Scorpion has performed many feats with this difficult to use weapon, including:
  • Impaling a helicopter pilot through the skull while the chopper was airborne and moving fast, showcasing his accuracy with it.
  • Catching an airborne enemy with two of his kunai, hitting both the skull and chest
  • Stealthily throwing his spear at Hsu Hao.
  • In MK11, he can impale a flying decapitated head in the air with his spear without even looking at it.
  • And many more
• Knowledgeable in his native language and fluent in English.
• Wise and skilled enough to train and teach an entire group of survivors of the Netherrealm war to become trained assassins.
• Bested a bloodlusted Raiden in combat, a god who knows 750 forms of Jujitsu and has been defending Earthrealm against Shao Kahn and Shinnok for millennia.

Yazo: But, alas, Scorpion does have weaknesses. Like the fact that he has a rather spotty win loss record. He lost several times to the likes of Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, and even D'vorah. And also he's quite hot-headed.

Carl: But watch out. If you see a yellow clad ninja with a kunai spear, count your prayers, and hope your spared.

"VENGEANCE WILL BE MINE!"

Revenant is the Apex Predator in Death Battle!

Carl: Originally human, Revenant was once the greatest hitman that the Mercenary Syndicate ever had.

Yazo: Until the Synidcate, in the year 2420, transformed him into a walking nightmare of steel and ves-ti-

Carl: Vestigial flesh.

Yazo: I had it! Anyways, it took another 20 years for the robot to actually work.

Carl: And after that, Revenant became what was described as an agent of death for the syndicate. Give Revenant a target, and wake up the next day to find that target dead.

Yazo: After finally figuring out who he was, he decided to just start killing people he found. Well, that Hammond (The guy who did this to him), and everyone related to him. Y'know. Happy times.

Carl: But Revenant couldn't be so efficient without having some items to back him up.

Weapons

• Mozambique: A shotgun-pistol with a small clip and respectable damage.
• RE-45 Auto: An automatic pistol.
• P2020: Standard issue semi-auto pistol.
• Wingman: High-powered revolver.
• Peacekeeper: Relatively standard lever-action shotgun. High damage.
• EVA-8 Auto: Semi-auto and still high-damaging shotgun.
• Mastiff Shotgun: Semi auto shotgun. Capable of instantly killing any character.
• R-99: Typical SMG, low damage but with a high rate of fire.
• Alternator SMG: Vastly low damage with twin barrel SMG.
• Prowler Burst PDW: Five round burst SMG.
• R-301 Carbine: Run of the mill AR. Moderate damage and good bridge from SMGs to assault rifles.
• Hemlok Burst AR: Three round burst assault rifle, heavy damage.
• VK-47 Flatline: Powerful fully automatic assault rifle.

• Shotgun Bolt: Increases rate of fire for shotguns.
• Scopes: Increases view distance and accuracy. Several pinpoint nearby threats or achieve other effects.
• Precision Choke: Reduces spread of fire on Triple Take and Peacekeeper.
• Selectfire Receiver: Enables fire select for Prowler.
• Skullpiercer Rifling: Allows ammunition to pierce through protective layers and skulls for the Longbow and the Wingman.
• Turbocharger: Allows the Devotion LMG to reach maximum firing rate much faster.

Abilties

• Silence - Throws a device that deals damage and disables enemy abilities for 15 seconds.
• Stalker - Allows Revenant to crouch walk faster and climbs walls higher.
• Death Totem - Drops a totem that protect Revenant from death. If he dies while the Totem is up, he'll be respawned at it.

Carl: Revenant is so murderous, it makes me wonder why we put him against Scorpion rather than Agent 47 or Solid Snake.

Yazo: Cause Revenant out haxes and speed blitz's 47 to oblivion. And Snake pretty much is better than Revenant in every way. Scorpion is fair compared to that.

Carl: ...Wow.

Feats

• Busted down steel double doors with two hits.
• Anti-Charge Rifle can destroy buildings.
• Faster than regular human beings.
• Dodged a P2020 fire from close range.
• Lifted a fully grown man with one arm.
• Fell hundreds of meters with no damage.
• Fought across an island with no rest.
• Has above average intelligence when it comes to combat and assassination.

Carl: If you happen to be targeted by Revenant, don't run. It's already too late.

"I will kill you, but not today. Today, I become your shadow. And I wait. And when you finally have something you love with all your heart, I'll annihilate it and send you into the hell you deserve. You think you know suffering, girl? Just wait..."

Pre-Death Battle

Carl: Alright, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities. Let's end this debate once and for all!

Yazo: And right now, it's time for a DEEAATTHH BAATTLLEE!

Death Battle!

Revenant looked through the scope.

A group of ninja was scouting the area. And they were in the way. Revenant had heard that some people working for the Syndicate hired these guys to kill Revenant.

The robot assassin aimed at a ninja and pulled the trigger. The ninja fell to the floor, bleeding out. The ninjas hid behind rocks and walls.

"Inform the Syndicate! I'll hold him off!" Scorpion barked to his clan, and the clan ran off, towards the Syndicate's base.

Revenant loaded his 3030 repeater again, as Scorpion got into a combat pose.

FIGHT!

Revenant fired again, but Scorpion dodged it. The robot starts to reload again. Scorpion ran to the left, heading towards an abandoned building. Revenant takes another shot, but Scorpion rolls and dodges it.

Scorpion ran into the building, and hid behind a wall. Scorpion looked slightly past the wall, in which behind Revenant was aiming at the wall that Scorpion was hiding behind.

Scorpion turned and looked further into the building. There was a metal wall sticking out about 12 inches thick. Scorpion grabs in and snaps it out of the wall.

Scorpion threw the metal piece like a disk, with it flying about 10 feet. Without thought, Revenant shot it. While Revenant was distracted, Scorpion rolled and hid behind a rock.

Revenant reloaded again and aimed again where Scorpion used to be standing, not realizing that the hellspawn ninja was no longer there. Scorpion took out an axe and then quickly stood up and threw the axe, while Revenant shot at Scorpion again. Both projectiles hit their target right in the head.

Revenant quickly got up and ripped the axe out of his face. Revenant looked at where the axe came from. Scorpion hadn't gotten up from the bullet to the face.

Revenant puts the rifle on his back.

"Target down." Revenant mutters. He turns around, to see Scorpion teleporting from fire. Scorpion unleashes an uppercut, launching Revenant off the building he was on. When Revenant landed, he glitched out a little.

"T-t-t-t-toa-a-a-ast-t-t-t-ty-y-y-y." Revenant says, glitching out a bit. Scorpion jumps down to deliver a kick, but Revenant rolled backwards to avoid it.

Revenant takes out a Devotion LMG and aims it at Scorpion, but Scorpion grabs it and tries to disarm Revenant. The two wrestle for the gun.

Eventually, Scorpion rips the gun out of Revenant's hand and throws it away. Scorpion turns to Revenant, and trips Revenant.

While on the ground, Revenant uses Silence right before Scorpion hits Revenant with a flaming fist. Scorpion looks at his, no longer flaming, fist in confusion.

Revenant gets up and kicks Scorpion away before taking out a Peacekeeper. Scorpion gets up and and uses in kunai spear before yelling his famous line.

"GET OVER HERE!" Scorpion yells as he throws it. It hits Revenant in the chest, Scorpion drags the kunai spear and Revenant towards him, and then throws Revenant into a building.

Revenant jumps down from the building and shot Scorpion several times with the Peacekeeper.

Scorpion the unleashes a axe kick, which Revenant blocks with his Peacekeeper. They both get knocked back, but then immediately, dash back, both trying to push the other, fist on Peacekeeper.

"I am death!" Revenant shouts.

"I am vengeance!" Scorpion shouts. Scorpion hits the Peacekeeper out of Revenant's arms and kicks him away. Revenant lands in another building.

A frag grenade flew through the building and landed next to Scorpion, and blew up, knocking Scorpion away.

The screen fades to white as Scorpion consciousness faded.

Scorpion woke up as the screen returned to normal. Scorpion got up and looked around for his enemy. He turned and got shot in the face by the Charge Rifle.

Scorpion flies into another building. Revenant started to walk away, assured that he had killed the ninja.

When suddenly, Scorpion teleported in front of Revenant and uppercutted. Scorpion then attaches Revenant to his kunai spear, and opened a portal to the Netherrealm. Revenant slid across the ground, trying to stop himself. He fired the Charge Rifle at the portal, only for nothing to happen.

Revenant gets pulled through the portal. The camera pans to the other side of the scenery, as another portal opens up, and Scorpion, holding a robotic skull with it's spine attached. He dropped it and fell to one knee.

K.O!!!

Scorpion got up and walked away.

Results

Yazo: Toasty!

Carl: Revenant was certainly a powerful enemy, but Scorpion was too overwhelming for the bot to handle.

Yazo: First off. Scorpion had a strength advantage over Revenant. Revenant may have been able to bust a double steel door with 2 hits, but Scorpion could break titanium with one hit.

Carl: Scorpion was more durable. Revenant could survive falling several meters, but Scorpion fought on par with Taven, who bested Raiden, who cause an entire temple to explode.

Yazo: Scorpion was faster and smarter. He can dodge lighting from Raiden before while Revenant's best speed feat was dodging a bullet from point blank, and also Revenant is only really knowledgeable on murder, while Scorpion has studied chinese martial arts and assassination techniques.

Carl: Though, Revenant had some advantages. He could keep Scorpion at a range with his guns, but Scorpion's speed and intelligence meant it could never work forever.

Yazo: Revenant also had a bigger arsenal of weapons, grenades, and power ups to help him.

Carl: Revenant had an experience advantage, being a couple hundred years older than Scorpion. And finally, the Death Totem would give Scorpion trouble killing Revenant, but it would never last forever.

Yazo: Revenant's probably a little spine-ful after that one, but at least Scorpion's a-head of the game.

Carl: The winner is Scorpion.

Soundtrack Concept

The track would be called "Vengeful Darkness" referencing Scorpion demanding vengeance, and Revenant's obsession with Darkness.

The cover would show the Death Totem with Scorpion's kunai spear.
