Scar VS Isaac is a What If? Death Battle and the 14th COMPLETED battle by NEWChristianthepupbot.

Description[]

Forging Scars

Full Metal Alchemist VS Castlevania. Revenge is a dish best served cold, but these two villains turned anti-heroes decided to turn a new leaf and use their dark arts for recreation instead. Can Scar scar Isaac for life, or will the forgemaster add a brand new monster to his marry band.

Intro[]

(Music: Wiz and Boomstick)

Wiz: Some men want to see the world burn. But these two, despite being fearsome warriors from tragic backgrounds, managed to get over than and become major threats for other villains in their stories.

Boomstick: Sorry, couldn't hear you over GOD-DEFYING MAGIC...or "science."

Wiz: Scar, The Vengeful Ishvalan.

Boomstick: And Isaac, Dracula's Favourite Forgemaster. By the way, we're using Netflix Isaac only. I am not touching this emo Light Yagami wannabe-DSM with a 10 foot whip. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armour and skill to find out who would win A DEATH BATTLE.

Scar[]

Scar Deconstructs DEATH BATTLE!

(Music: Lapis Philosophorum)

Wiz: Alchemy, the art of comprehension, deconstruction, and reconstruction. It’s a powerful tool that can reform matter itself and has aided the country of Amestris in many ways.

Boomstick: It’s handled by state alchemists, basically military men who are allowed to do magic.

Wiz: Science.

Boomstick:...We’re not doing this. Amestris may seem pretty beautiful, but there are a few...secrets. Stories that would ruin the government’s reputation. Experiments, monsters under the city...and a serial killer.

Wiz: This killer was known for targetting state alchemists and ending them in an instant. This struck fear in the nation as even trained military soldiers couldn’t stop him. His motives were unknown, but they did know his nickname; Scar.

Boomstick: But before he was Scar, he was...actually we don’t know his name. We do know this man comes from a far away region known as Ishval. It was a desert land full of religious people, where this serial killer was actually a monk.

Wiz: Ishvalan names are said to be sacred gifts from God. To be specific, this monk was a warrior priest who-

Boomstick: What the hell is a warrior priest? Do they stab you with a crucifix? Can I become one?

Wiz: I highly doubt you could ever step near a church. Despite what the bright red eyes and warrior priest may have you believe, Ishvalans were mostly peaceful people and this monk wasn’t any different. But they did have tension with the Amestrian government to the point of military occupation. And just when people thought the tension would end...

BANG!

Wiz: An Amestris soldier had shot an innocent child for no reason.

Boomstick: And so the Ishvalan Civil War started. And when the State Alchemists got involved, it was less of a war and more of a genocide. But that monk was still a warrior...His brother on the other hand was a scientist. He’d studied alchemy for a while, which was a sin.

Wiz: But regardless of what the religion said, the monk’s brother managed to tattoo his arms in a way that would grant him access to a new form of alchemy...and then...Kimblee happened.

Boomstick: Yeah, Kimblee was the worst thing that could've happen. And the monk learned that the hard way then his village got slaughtered and his arm was destroyed. But in his final moments, his brother decided to save the monk by giving him one of his alchemy arms RIPPING OFF HIS OWN ARM AND ATTACHING IT TO HIS BROTHER...Now that's brotherhood.

Wiz: Too bad his brother ended up dying after that. The monk nearly met the same fate if two neutral doctors didn't save him.

Boomstick: He thanked for their kindness with MURDER, because he was really really angry at everything.

Wiz: With his nation in ruins and his family gone, the monk decided to use this new tool on his arm to enact revenge of those that had ruined his life. Leaving his sacred name in the rubble of Ishval, Scar was born.

_______________

BACKGROUND:

  • Real Name: Unknown.
  • Race: Ishvalan.
  • Age: Likely in his early to mid 30s.
  • Height: 6’0 (183 cm).
  • Weight: Likely 183 ib (83 kg).
  • Master of Deconstruction.
  • Soft spot for cats.

_________________

(Music: Crisis In The North)

Boomstick: I assume he named himself after the X on his forehead.

Wiz: Why else would he give himself that name?

Boomstick: Maybe he just liked the Lion King. Anyways, Scar hit the streets with a brand new arm and a goal to use it on every single state alchemist alive. Including the main characters, which kinda made him a bad guy...But at the same time, he did kill Shou Tucker so maybe he’s not a bad guy.

Wiz: Regardless of his moral standing, Scar is an incredibly dangerous man. He could stand up to trained military alchemists, Kimblee himself, monsters known as chimeras and the incredibly powerful homunculi.

Boomstick: And it was all thanks to his little bro. His parting gift was his Right Arm of Deconstruction. See Alchemy is built on three big steps; knowing something, destroying it and creating something new out of the rubble. And Scar decided to ditch step 3 in favour of the fun part: BLOWING STUFF UP!

_____________________

RIGHT ARM OF DECONSTRUCTION:

  • A combination of Amestrian and Xingese arts.
  • Originally belonged to his brother.
  • Capable of destroying anything Scar touches.
  • Can destroy the organ systems of humans.
  • Creates smoke screens for quick cover.
  • Able to cause explosions.

______________________

Wiz: Indeed. Scar’s right arm contains an incredible amount of power. Anything he touches can be destroyed instantly (2:03), and he can even spread out the destruction past the point where he touched his hand. (0:17)

Boomstick: He can extend this way past the point of stone walls and floorings. A simple touch from Scar is enough to completely destroy your organs! This really sucks because guess what his main form of combat is. If you guessed close quarters, your cookie is at the back.

Wiz: This is because Scar’s arm employs two different versions of alchemy. Amestrian alchemy, which focuses on objects; and Xingese Alchetry, which is used mostly for healing. This is how Scar’s alchemy is able to brutally murder anyone that interacts with it.

Boomstick: Scar can even control how deadly he wants it to be. For example, when he slammed his hand against Doctor Marcoh, he actually just ruined his face but kept him alive. But this means he can crank things up to the extreme. Scar simply raising his hand is enough to cause an explosion large enough to blow up a train car.

Wiz: Despite what all this force may lead you to believe, he’s a very clever strategist. He once managed to outsmart Kimblee by dressing an imposter like him and then attacking Kimblee from the train roof. He can cover himself in smoke to hide, can break the ground for quick escapes, and thought to use the debris of destruction as quick projectiles.

Boomstick: But just because he’s forward-thinking doesn’t mean he’s collected.

________________________

Scar: Now tell me, for what propose did you choose to slaughter all of my people? Depending on your answer, I’ll send you to join God. NO! You don’t deserve to stand by god alongside my fallen brothers! Your only solace for my wrath will be DAMNATION!

(0:42)

_________________________

Boomstick: But to be fair, the giant lizard was also the guy who shot the child...Long story.

Wiz: But to be fairer, Scar’s mission was all in all mindless revenge. It was understandable, sure, but at the end of the day, his killing spree was accomplishing nothing but defying his own god and putting a target on the back of his head. He even went so far as to hunt the teenaged Edward Elric. All this for the sole purpose of using the burning hatred in him for...something. But there was a better way to avenge the death of his people.

Boomstick: He realized this when he came face to face with the daughter of those two doctors who saved him...and he murdered. So Scar just kinda offered to let her shoot him because he never actually thought of himself as a hero. And then...she didn’t.

Wiz: This was the beginning of Scar’s self-realization. Before, he thought that the only thing that could break this cycle of pain and murder was his own death. But thanks to this display of mercy, Scar started to think of other ways to subside the extreme amounts of hatred within him.

Boomstick: Basically, he thought “man, serial killing was a waste of time” and decided to use his powers of destruction and hatred for good. Like overthrowing the government!

Wiz: A genocidal government secretly run by monsters. Also by the side of the heroes of this story.

Boomstick: I never said overthrowing the government was bad. He even managed to spare the creator of the Philospher's Stone, a weapon which helped cause the genocide. He was that Marcoh guy from earlier, and he felt really bad about it. It was mostly to find out more, but it was a sign that the brutal serial killer Scar had faded for a more logical Scar.

Wiz: With the help of an innocent girl and the realization of who was truly responsible for Ishval, Scar found a new purpose. Using his hatred for the recreation of Amestris instead of the destruction. And once he found a way to complete his late brother’s research, he changed his powerset to reflect that.

Boomstick: It was against Fuhrer King Bradley that Scar showed off how far he’d come. Now tattooed on his left arm was the formula for reconstruction.

_______________________

LEFT ARM OF RECONSTRUCTION:

  • The final part of his brother’s research.
  • Can reconstruct materials into weapons.
  • Can be used offensively and defensively.
  • Used against Fuhrer King Bradley.

_______________________

(Music: The Awakening)

Wiz: This formula allowed him to reconstruct objects into new shapes. This can be used for attacking and defending.

Boomstick: For example, he can both summon spikes (3:10) from the ground and push some...cylinders(?) (4:42) at his opponents. But he can also bring up some shields for protection (4:18).

Wiz: It hasn’t been used much within the series, but given that Scar could do much with only half of his potential moveset, just imagine what he could do with the power of creation.

____________________________

FEATS:

  • Killed Many State Alchemists.
  • Defeated Kimblee in a fight.
  • Can destroy large structures with a touch.
  • Matched Edward in combat.
  • Dodged bullets.
  • Can take tons of punishment.

____________________________

Boomstick: In his serial killing days, Scar killed at least ten state alchemists. And we know they couldn’t have been amateurs because the guy could compete with Edward Elric twice. The same Edward who can survive an explosion.

Wiz: But when it comes to facing Scar, durability doesn’t really matter. One touch is enough for him to completely eviscerate your organs. If you want to survive, you’ll have to be faster.

Boomstick: Good luck with that. This is the same guy who can dance around pistol shots. And Edward, whom he’s fought, can dodge them at point freakin’ blank!

Wiz: And even if you can match him with his speed, Scar is creative. Whether it’s clouding himself in smoke, dressing someone like him or blowing up something ahead to trap you, he’s a clever fighter. And even after that, he’s still survived impalement, cuts and explosions. Nothing can keep him down.

Boomstick: Your best bet is to make friends with him. All of his friends are people he’s tried to kill.

Wiz: Actually, yes. Mercy is something Scar learned. His hatred was no longer mindless but controlled. He used his destructive powers to create. Even if it wasn’t enough to make up for his sins, it still made a difference that brought about peace to the world. And by the end of it all, he promised to help rebuild Ishval and its people back into its prime. Not as Scar or the monk, but as a new man entirely.

Boomstick: Starting off the series as the killer and ending it by defeating the second-biggest bad proves that redemption was possible for the nameless Ishvalan. Scar’s wrath is powerful, but he’ll make sure to direct it towards a truly righteous cause.

___________________________

“I’ve died twice now, I’m neither of the people I once was. I don’t need a name. Call me anything.”

-The Ishvalan.

(I couldn't find the clip on youtube but Scar is happy and the music is playing beautifully and I really wish I could find it).

Isaac[]

Isaac Calls His Beasties Into DEATH BATTLE!

Pop-up: There won't be music for this analysis. I couldn't find a lot of Isaac's themes, and want I could find wouldn't fit this format. Apologies. I'll make it up, I swear.

Wiz: In the beautiful world, there is a place where death rules. A place once full of wonder and knowledge which has been reduced to merely depression.

Boomstick: They call this place Europe.

Wiz:...I was talking about a castle ruled by a man known as Vlad Tepes. But most of you probably know him by one name; Dracula.

Boomstick: Dracula was never really fond of humans at all, except for one; Lisa Tepes. They were a nice couple until The Church found out that a woman was being smart. You probably know what happened next.

Wiz: Wishing to avenge his now dead wife, Dracula declared war upon all of humanity. But, in order to do that, he’d need an army. He called upon vampire from across the world, but that wasn’t enough. To commit the genocide he wanted, he needed creatures...Night Creatures.

Boomstick: These are demons brought to Earth from Hell, but no vampires could ever do that. No, they needed forgemasters. Also known as magical humans. And one of those humans was known as...Hector. But he spends more time as a bottom than a fighter so we're not using him.

Wiz: No, Dracula had a better forgemaster. One of absolute loyalty that believed humanity should die, even being human himself. And his name was Isaac.

______________________________

BACKGROUND:

  • Age: Likely in his late 20s to early 30s.
  • Height: 6’0 (183 cm).
  • Weight: Likely 183 ib (83 kg).
  • Religion: Sufi Muslim
  • Loyal forgemaster to Dracula.
  • Also Dracula's best fried.
  • Rival to forgemaster Hector, though that might be too much credit to Hector.

_____________________________

Wiz: In his childhood, Isaac studied magic in the Middle East and Africa. That was until he was taken in by a...man. We don’t know the precise details since we only have a flashback and a voice actor interview to go off of. But we can try to piece together a few things.

Boomstick: Judging by the robes and cross, that looks like a crusader to me. So Isaac must have been taken in by a magical pope warrior. But just believing in Jesus doesn’t exactly make you a good person in Castlevania, so the guy was abusive as hell.

Wiz: Isaac was consistently whipped by the man, but one whipping was especially bad. Isaac had stolen books from his abuser, but only to help him with his ‘work’ which may have been some sort of necromancy. All because he loved him. But the man simply hit Isaac trying to make sure he’d never use the word love again.

Boomstick: Big mistake, seeing as Isaac snapped that day. He jumped up and gouged the man’s eyes out! This was the first life he’d ever taken...and trust me, it would not be the last.

Wiz: All of his innocence drained, Isaac was eventually captured by magicians who wished to sell his body parts, but he was eventually rescued by Dracula. The first act of kindness he’d ever seen, from a monster. It was said Isaac’s first words to Dracula were ‘I have no fear of death. It always sounded peaceful to me.’

Boomstick: That’s the most metal shit I’ve ever heard, so you bet the forgemaster on Team Drac when it was genocide time. Isaac and Dracula’s relation go far beyond that of master and employee. The two could definitely be called friends. Dracula has even praised Isaac as being the best of his kind. And when you figure out what Isaac does for a living, you’d see why.

_______________________

FORGEMASTERY:

  • A type of necromancy used to summon creatures from hell.
  • Made using dead corpses and a tool (hammer, knife, etc).
  • Are under the complete control of the forgemaster.
  • Reborn from the damned souls of humans.
  • Range from simple beasts to giant creatures.
  • Some are capable of speech.

________________________

Wiz: Isaac is Dracula’s most loyal forgemaster, using a form of necromancy to fill his army with inhuman beasts so they can raid cities. He shares a similar goal with his new master; end humanity. And his powerful magic makes the task much easier.

Boomstick: So, ya wanna be a forgemaster? Well, here’s a quick guide. 1. Find a freshly dead corpse...yeah good luck. 2. Grab a cool tool with some magical properties. 3. Bang on a corpse until it wakes up as the ugliest monster anyone’s ever seen. Congrats, you’ve just spat in nature’s face.

Wiz: Isaac uses a danger for his art. It’s an incredibly powerful tool he can use to make minions who serve his bidding. Interestingly, the hell beasts that these corpses turn into are usually damned souls from hell. For example, this four-armed bug creature named Flyseyes used to be an Athenian Philosopher killed by Christians long ago.

Boomstick: Christian! What did the Athenians ever do to you?

Pop-up: A lot.

Wiz: But no matter who they used to be, they are still some of the most deadly creatures roaming the night, all surrounding Isaac and ready to attack anyone who he doesn’t like.

__________________

NIGHT CREATURES:

  • Flyseyes
  • Demon Horses
  • Wolf Men
  • Four-Armed Creatures
  • Fire Spitters
  • Demon Dogs
  • Giants
  • Abel

___________________

Boomstick: These creatures are beasts. While they may die as quickly as any regular human, it doesn’t change the fact that they’re super strong and great at causing chaos.

Wiz: Night Creatures vary wildly, to the point where it seems no two creatures are the same. Some have extra arms (2:25), some already carry weapons (2:13), and some can even fly (1:09). Their biology is incredible.

Boomstick: Some are pretty snake-like too. In fact, some night creatures are ridable horses and some nice hunting dogs (0:12). Some can even spitfire (2:15), meaning good luck trying to beat Isaac and his merry band in a rap battle. He’d absolutely own you.

Wiz: Speaking of owning people, Isaac controls absolutely all of the night creatures. He can call them to order with a snap of a finger. And while some are able to object to orders, it’s usually when those orders are NOT to kill somebody.

Boomstick: But Isaac doesn’t let all the demons have all the fun. He’s not afraid to step on the battlefield knife in hand. He’ll use it at a regular knife, slitting throats and stabbing people to death. But if you’re stabbed with it while it’s glowing red, you’re not just gonna get killed by Isaac, you’re gonna get EMPLOYED by him. (2:38)

Wiz: Adding the people you defeat to your own army is certainly a new strategy to me-

Boomstick: Isn’t that just Pokemon?

Wiz: Oh...I guess it is.

Boomstick: Forgemon, gotta stab em’ all!

Wiz: It’s you and me!

Wiz & Boomstick: WE MUST END HUMANITY!

Wiz: Oh, right we should talk about that. As a victim of abuse, a man who spends his time around vampires, and a necromancer; Isaac hates his own race. This could be why he was so loyal to Dracula. Or maybe it was because he was so loyal to Dracula.

Boomstick: Personally I think it was because they were both neck-romancers.

Wiz: UUUUUUUUUUUUUGH.

Boomstick: But to be completely serious here, Isaac was not in the healthiest state of mind...at all.

________________________

Isaac: One day the last one of you will ask me ‘why did you work with Dracula himself to murder all the people?’ And you know what I’ll say? It’s because you’re all so fucking rude!

(1:51)

_________________________

Boomstick: And funnily enough, things definitely weren’t going good for Isaac when, in his last battle, Dracula pushed him through a magic mirror...to save him.

Wiz: They truly were loyal to the end. But it seems like this push into the middle of nowhere was exactly what Isaac needed. His trip across Europe had brought Isaac some time to think about his life full of death.

Boomstick: At first, Isaac still had that goal. Kill the fuck out of all the humans. But then he started talking to people that weren’t walking corpses. Like this cool sailor who said ‘hey, genocide is cool and all but what if you taught humanity instead of killing them.’

Wiz: But his ultimate trial was given by an elder forgemaster. She told him of a magician that mind-controlled an entire village to do his bidding. And so, Isaac went to fight.

Boomstick: It was here where Isaac showed off one of his coolest monsters. The GIANT! (1:36) This guy is huge and so incredibly strong, he lifted an ENTIRE BALL OF PEOPLE! Needless to say, Isaac ended the crazy wizard. And after seeing what true evil looked like and how good it feels to end it, he changed.

Wiz: Isaac still felt humans were terrible, but at the same time, decided he’d rebuild a broken world instead of breaking it further. A hammer can crack a skull, but it can also build a house.

Boomstick: But Isaac decided to just crack one more skull before retirement; the tyrannical vampire queen Carmilla. He did this with his second coolest creature named Abel. Abel can fly and serves as Isaac’s personal hang-glider, but that doesn’t mean he can’t provide too extra hands during a fight.

______________________

FEATS:

  • Killed Godbrand the Viking Vampire.
  • Raided Carmilla’s Castle.
  • Fought Carmilla.
  • Survived Carmilla’s Suicide.
  • Killed the Mind Controlling Magician.
  • Effortlessly Carried Season 3.

________________________

Wiz: Speaking of that fight, it’s worth mentioning that Carmilla is easily a top-tier vampire. This means she should likely be stronger and faster than other vampires that can keep up with Trevor Belmont. Despite being a mess, Trevor can easily dodge arrows, which at fastest can move 329 Kilometers per hour.

Boomstick: Can’t we just scale Isaac to Trevor directly?

Wiz: Actually, with the expectations of Varney and Dracula, the characters from Plot A never meet with Plot B.

Boomstick: WHAT? Is that even allowed to happen!?

Wiz: We don’t need scaling to tell Isaac is tough. He’s seen a lot of battle and rarely comes out hurt.

Boomstick: If he can be hurt! Isaac once stabbed Godbrand and survived sitting on his burning corpse! (0:54)

Wiz: Even his willpower was strong. The Magician once tried to control the forgemaster’s brain. And Isaac managed to resist with merely his knife and his will (0:49). This magician was strong enough to control ENTIRE VILLAGES, so if that’s not willpower, I don’t know what is.

Boomstick: And after his fight with Carmilla, the vampire queen rage quit and stabbed herself so hard that she BLEW UP! (2:34) With the help of an Abel-meatshield, Isaac survived the massive explosion and lived to tell Hector about his character arc.

Wiz: Isaac began his story as a man loyal to Dracula only, desiring to exterminate his own race out of anger. But after being exposed to true evil and meeting some interesting people, Isaac changed. He became a man who wished to recreate the human race instead of killing them, much as he does with his tools.

Boomstick: And even given the chance to revive Dracula, Isaac said no, wishing for his master to rest in peace. The NECROMANCER chose not the bring someone back to life! Through all the death of Castlevania, Isaac has easily proven that he’s his own man with his own goals. Whether he wants to help you or turn you into a fire-breathing dog slave, Isaac won’t fail.

“I think perhaps he earned his rest...and that we should not disturb it...I will instead build something new on all these old bones. Something where people can live for a future...I’m going to live.”

-Forgemaster Isaac (1:47)

Forging Scars[]

Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set and we've run the data through all possibilities.

Boomstick: It's time for A DEATH BATTLE!

___________________________

The sun shined onto a village of sand and dirt, reaching impressively humid heats. Beneath it stood buildings and homes made of various medieval materials like brick, stone and even the sand itself. And despite it being structurally sound and even clean, the entire village was abandoned. Now occupied by demonic beasts and night creatures examining damages, digging graves and preparing for their next mission.

The only living human populating the village was one necromancer of a blue outfit dressed in a white hood. Many knew him as the forgemaster Isaac. He was simply sitting down, admiring the desert’s beauty when a creature approached him...One of his own named Flyseyes. “May I...ask a question?” The demon bug of hell requested in his raspy voice.

The forgemaster merely smiled. “Of course you may.”

“A long time ago...you told me that we are...always fighting for something…” He paused. “But I cannot figure out what it is...right now.”

Isaac thought about everything for a second. “...I’ve recalled how we’ve gotten in this situation very often...Even if my goal is to help them, many people will misunderstand my work; see me as a monster...Perhaps the fight is against that belief of me.”

The fly’s eyes then caught something in the desert’s wind. He pointed his hand “From someone like...him?” The monster pointed and Isaac’s head followed.

Footsteps were heard across the sand as Isaac and his partner saw the figure of a tall and strong man. Dawning a jacket and the wounds of his face, Scar approached dragging the dead corpse of a demonic beast. “You are the forgemaster Isaac, correct?” He asked, dropping the corpse of the red multi-armed creature.

Isaac looked at the dead demon “...Yes, I believe so.”

“I’ve heard rumours of the art known as forgery and how it’s performed.” His voice gravelled with anger. “Is it true you’d take those out of their rest to fight your battles as the form of monstrosities?”

As Scar gave his glare, Isaac got up and calmly looked at Flyseyes, who was awaiting orders. He then looked at Scar. “What you may call monstrosities, I call assistants. Assistants for the betterment of humanity and God’s will.”

(Music: Castlevania Judgement - Bloody Tears)

CRACK.

The Ishvalan flexed his hand and his voice reached peak rage. “You’re delusional if you think breaking God’s own rules is serving his will! Do you truly believe these tragic abominations can ever reach Ishvala!?” Scar prepared to use his arm of battle. “Your unholy acts and defying God’s law end here!”

Isaac sighed as Flyseyes got up. “If you insist. Just know that whatever happens to you is your fault.”

FIGHT![]

Flyseyes jumped up from his seat and flew, aiming to grab the intruder as he dashed through the air. But just before he landed, Scar dodged the creature and left him with nothing. The philosopher turned around to strike Scar again, only for the hand of an alchemist to travel towards him. The fly moved back a little to avoid being touched. Once the Ishvalan realized this demon could dodge, he aimed his tattooed arm at the ground and hit it. Sparks of energy emerged as in a split second, the destruction alchemy travelled under Flyseyes’ feet.

Boom!

The ground under him exploded, tripping up the Night Creature. “W-what kind of magic is this?” Just as Flyseyes was recovering himself, Scar dashed in again, ready to destroy the demon’s organs. But while 3 of the fly’s arms were unbalanced from the surprise, one hand was still fine. Flyseyes grabbed Scar’s arm. “This is what you get for...interrupting a conversation.”

Wham! Thwack! Pow!

The Night Creature used his three other arms to hit the captured Scar. As the Ishvalan felt the pain of each hit, he figured a way to get out this situation. He spun around as quickly as he could and flicked his arm, much to Flyseyes’ surprise. So much so that the demon let go of the wrist and travelled to the spot he and Isaac were talking, (BAM!) hitting the stone pile. As the philosopher was on the ground, his incredible eyes could pick up Scar jumping up and aiming his fist towards the stone.

Blam!

The stone turned to dust as they were touch by Scar. But Flyseyes had managed to fly up just before the alchemist touched down. Scar looked up at the fly in rage, but then he realized the spot he just destroyed and how someone was missing. “Where is your master?” He yelled at the fly.

ClopClopClopClop.

Running that could only belong to a horse was heard by Scar. Not just any horse, but a demon horse mounted by the forgemaster. Coming from the village, the Ishvalan saw it gallop towards him, and Isaac draw his knife. It got close enough for Isaac to slash, but Scar managed to duck in time for the knife to miss. Isaac then ordered the horse to stop. The two men and two demon animals looked at each other.

Isaac looked at Flyseyes, and the demon got the message just from the look.

Zoom!

The fly swiftly flew into the demon-infested village, and Isaac looked like he was about to as well. So Scar quickly chased the escaping demon, and Isaac caused Scar.

Clopclopclop.

Crunchcrunchcrunch.

BUZZZZZZZ.

Sand and dust flew everywhere as the 6 legs ran across the desert buildings and creatures, each heading towards a gate of two towers connected by a bridge. Flyseyes looked behind himself to see Scar still chasing him. Both Isaac and his creature were impressed by Scar’s speed and persistence, but he had just the thing to slow him down. Snap!

And with the snap of a finger, each monster in the area knew what to do. "RAAUGH!" "SCREECH!" Scar could hear the inhuman calls from all around the buildings. He shifted his focus away from the fly and looked at what was around him.

Out of nowhere, a serpent holding a spear slithered towards Scar, ready to stab him to death. However, as it slashed, the Ishvalan jumped over the creature, avoiding the attack. Scar turned back and kicked the serpent away. As both continued running, Scar’s next challenge would be a muscular night creature with four arms, carrying a boulder. It flung the rock at Scar, but (Boom!) The warrior used his arm to deconstruct it into pieces. He even took one shard and stabbed it into the creature’s head.

As Scar looked back, he saw that his opponent was now joined by an army of hellspawns also running at him. He then looked forward to see a line of Night Creatures ahead. He was trapped. One of them, a wolfman with a sword, ran at Scar with intentions to stab him. But he stuck his hand out, catching the sword and breaking it. The metal shards were redirected by Scar towards Isaac, slowing down his army ever so slightly. He then grabbed the wolfman with both hands and threw him at the army.

With that distraction thrown, Scar jumped to the nearest building, climbing a pipe and quickly making it to the roof. He had avoided things on the ground, and could now run freely towards Flyseyes. Or so he thought. But the forgemaster had found a route that allowed his horse to climb onto the building, followed by some more night creatures. As Scar ran, the night creatures followed, every single being jumping from roof to roof. Along with flying night creatures trying and failing to hit or catch Scar.

Once Scar landed the roof closest to the gate’s bridge, he got close to the edge and turned around. Isaac and his demons had already started jumping on, and so, he touched the ground. KABOOM! The floor beneath the demons shattered. Starting from the end opposite of Scar, the house crumbled to dust, taking many night creatures with it. Scar quickly leaped towards Flyseyes. Isaac tried to follow, but the roof beneath his horse was about to fall, so he quickly stood and leaped off his demonic horse.

Scar made it to the demon philosopher, ready to blow up its organs. But Flyseyes managed to catch Scar and quickly threw him away. Scar landed in the middle of the gate’s bridge. Isaac landed on one end of it, and Flyseyes slowly moved to the other, touching down. “You are an aggressive one...aren’t you?”

“I personally believe all that unfiltered anger needs to be controlled.” Calmly stated Isaac. “And seeing as you have nowhere to run now…” He readied his dagger.

Both Flyseyes and Isaac ran at Scar from both sides. The former monk hadn’t even recovered from his fall yet...But he didn’t need to...because red sparks emerged.

BLAST!

The bridge shattered into thousands of pieces, falling towards the ground. Isaac could see the writing on the wall and jumped back, but Flyseyes wasn’t so lucky. The cracking bridge tripped him up, and he started to fall with it. Before he could use his wings, Scar turned himself mid-air and tackled the creature. They fell faster than the debris, so as Scar put his hand on the monster’s face and destroyed the organs, he also turned him towards the falling pieces that stabbed into Flyseyes. Once both hit the ground, it was over. Flyseyes had died once again.

(MUSIC STOP)

As Scar laid on the ground...he saw something that immediately made him roll away on the ground, quickly exiting the village and standing up. He did this all before Isaac landed with his knife pointed down. The forgemaster got up, looked at the dead philosopher, and then glared towards Scar. “Congratulations...you can kill TWO Night Creatures.”

Snap!

Night Creatures once chasing and trying to trap Scar either ran, jumped, or flew out of the town. A good ten of them immediately made it to Scar and Isaac’s fight. They made a circle around Scar. Those who had weapons drew them and those that had claws readied them. “I’ve afraid hitting the ground isn’t going to save you this-”

Once Scar hit the ground, a massive wave of sand turned to smoke, blinding each and every monster around. Isaac covered his eyes with his sleeve in order to protect him. He couldn’t see the Ishvalan with these conditions. But what he could see were red sparks. (GUSH!) The brief silhouette of a hand grabbing his monsters (SCRONK!) and the sound of their organs being destroyed (CRACK)...He could sense the Ishvalan getting closer…

SLICE!

Isaac turned around and slashed, his knife colliding with his opponent’s weapon for defence...A desert’s tree branch. “Really?”

“Only fitting to fight someone who defiles nature with nature.”

The dagger and the branch collided a number of times, each trying to gain control of the fight. The answer was obvious from the start. Isaac angled his knife and stabbed into the branch. And then, he threw it away. Scar now stood his ground unarmed, so he aimed his hand at Isaac. The forgemaster ducked and then tripped up Scar with his legs. The Ishvalan fell over after (Thwack!) a good bash from Isaac’s elbow.

Scar was now on the ground, and before he could flip his hand of deconstruction, Isaac planted his foot on Scar’s wrist. He raised his knife. “Defiles the laws of nature? Coming from a man that knows nothing but destruction. Meanwhile, I can create. I can break an arm and build a shelter to treat the arm...I’m much closer to God than you think.”

With his right arm down, Scar decided to the ground with his left instead. “...You’re not the only one who can create.” And out of nowhere, sparks emerged, followed by a giant spike made of rock. It nearly stabbed Isaac, who had quickly dodge. But by doing that, he’d set Scar free.

(Music: Castlevania: Curse of the Night - Insane Aristocracy)

The Ishvalan got up as quickly as he could, both hands of Alchemy ready. It was time to end the farce. Isaac simply backed away, as the cavalry had arrived. Night Creatures approached Scar. And even worse, Isaac simply disappeared in the crowd of them.

First up was a fire-spitting monster who opened up at Scar, sending a large fireball his way. Scar quickly used his alchemy to summon a structure from the ground that shield him away from the flames. Once the fireball faded, he pressed on his structure, which send out a large spike and stabbed the fire spitter through the mouth.

A blue griffon swooped down to hit Scar with a head-butt. Before it could make contact, the fighter looked back to see it and stuck his hand out. Instead of hitting Scar, the bird simply made it into his destructive had and got its organs destroyed. Scar threw the corpse at the oncoming Night Creatures to slow them down, and then he touched the sand, which summoned giant cylinders travelling towards the animalistic demons.

Several were hit by the shapes and pushed back by the oncoming obstacles. Pummeled, crushed or even minorly injured; tons were harmed or stopped from their all-out attack. One beast, a four-armed demon with knives, managed to jump and climb over one of the cylinders. He readied his four knives and ran towards Scar, but the Ishvalan saw it and jumped on his own creation. He then ran at the creature and stuck his hand on the ground, then threw debris and rocks at the creature, distracting it. Scar used his hand of creation to grab a large rock from the cylinder. Once he was close enough, he smashed the rock into the demon’s face, killing it.

Isaac was impressed by the demon-killing that Scar was doing, but still had a battle to win. He saw Scar jump down into his area, and look at him from a distance. The vengeful man ran at Isaac, both hands ready to strangle him. But the calmed man just stood calmly in place, unfazed with how close Scar was.

Grab!

For he had Abel to appeared behind him and catch both of Scar’s arms. “Interesting tricks.” Isaac’s danger then glowed red and smelled of the vilest magic. “Let’s put them to good use.” As his knife was ready to stab, Scar realized it was over….he could use his arms anymore…

BAM!

But he still had legs and jumped to kick the dagger out of Isaac’s hand and far away from the fight. Isaac looked at it. Abel, angered, then flapped his wings and flew away, still holding Scar. As the two flew, Isaac ran over to retrieve his forgemaster’s dagger. As he approached his weapon, he noticed something next to it...a dead body from the village.

The air had burst into chaos as Abel dragged Scar a good 15 meters into the sky. While the fighter was trying to kick the creature in the chest and make it let go, it was far too tough for that. Scar struggled to free his gripped hands, but Abel simply (WHAM!) headbutted the fighter into submission. The night creature let go for a split second, then attacked Scar with his claws as he was falling. Abel then grabbed Scar by the face and threw him to the sand and dirt. BAM!

Scar hit the ground in pain. As he got up to fight again, he saw Isaac walk over, now holding his dagger and...dragging a dead body...He gave the body’s leg to Abel, who held it and began to float. And as his knife turned red, Isaac stabbed into the body. As it started to react, Abel threw it away. It went over Scar and to the other side of the area. As it flew, the body turned a pale bull and began to look less and less human.

Giant muscular arms emerged from the body, and it then landed on its giant muscular feet. The creature was cautious again. It then started to rise off the feat and get taller and stronger. Scar looked in shock as the creature that stood before him grew into a gigantic beast.

“RAAAAAAAAOOOOOUGHHHHHORRRRGH!”

As it let out a cry, the creature took its first step.

STOMP!

It was clearly far too large for Scar; the Ishvalan started to run away from the walking giant pursuing him.  Scar ran and ran as fast as his legs could carry him, oblivious to the fact that he wasn’t alone in his run. Flying behind him was Abel, ready to swoop down and trip him up. The demon flew as fast as he could towards Scar, ready to ensure the Ishvalan was crushed. But Scar turned at the last second to look behind and then did the unexpected.

Pow!

Scar jumped up and kicked Abel in the face, which he used as a boost as he pushed his leg off of the night creature. Scar launched himself just a few meters ahead, but it was enough for him to turn and quickly land with his hand on the ground. And with sparks, pointy spikes stabbed out of the ground in front of Scar. As Abel flew away to retreat, the monstrous demon readied his foot to crush Scar-

CRUGH!

“HYOUUAAAAOCH!!!”

The foot of the monster had stepped on the higher spikes instead, piercing its foot and causing it immense pain as it was trapped there. Scar then ran a good distance until he thought himself to be in the exact place he needed to be. His arm made contact with the ground again.

Isaac watched with astonishment as a wide and long piece of land started to rise from the ground, like a tower was coming out of the ground before his very eyes. This phenomenon was caused by Scar and his alchemy, which he used to elevate himself until his tower’s height matched that of the giant. The giant then looked down at the puny creature that dare to pale his foot. Forming a fist, he lowered his hand!

SLAAAAAM!

With the giant fist brought down, Scar managed to move to the far, far edge away from the creature’s attack. Once he’d endured the shockwave, Scar quickly jumped for his life. The man had made it on the fist; he was now ready to finish the creature. He ran across the goliath’s long arm and leaped, pulling his destructive arm back. He rushed in right between the eyes, and with the sparks, the giant’s-

BOOOOM!

-head exploded.

(MUSIC STOP)

His gargantuan body started to lower towards the sand. As he fell, Abel dodged the corpse, now holding his forgemaster. The two flew as fast as one could until finally making it to the top of the pillar Scar had created. Scar had guided himself towards his platform and managed to grip it. As he pulled himself up to his area, the forgemaster dropped down and separated from his demon. He stared at the Ishvalan, noticing that everything he’d fought had clearly had an effect on his stamina.

“I (huff) once met a man who turned innocents into abominations. He wasn’t anywhere near (huff) this annoying.”

Isaac was done with being smug. In his face was now firmly angry. “I could give you, more or less, that same line. What I get for trying to fix this cruel world.”

“FIX? In the eyes of everyone else, you’re merely a sinner mad with power.” Despite the anger, Scar was still out of breath and stumbling. “I will be the first to admit I have sinned...However, any true theist wouldn't steal men's souls and make them their slaves! YOU DON'T DESERVE TO CALL YOURSELF GOD'S CHOSEN!"

(Music: Dark Souls 3 - Soul of Cinder)

“Hmph, any religious man could say the same to any other. But enough talk…” From across the area, Isaac pointed his knife to Scar, ordering Abel to attack. The angel of death dashed over, wings flying and ready to throw Scar off his own platform. The tired Ishvalan merely started to fall down...and his hand touched the ground.

PIERCE!

Spikes emerged and tour right through Abel’s body, instantly killing Isaac’s last partner. Scar got up, revealing to Isaac that his exhaustion was merely a bluff. Both men gazed at each other with absolute anger. Scar started running towards Isaac; on his way, he broke off one of the spikes impaling Abel. The two fights readied their weapons and-

CLASHED!

The knife and spike collided, both fighters holding their weapons for as long as they could, trying to push off their opponent. Isaac and Scar then rolled back their heads and (WHAM!) rammed them together. Once the force had pushed both slightly back, they just went right back together. The dagger hit the spike, the spike hit the dagger, and both warriors were dodging as quickly as they could.

Eventually, Isaac was tired of the fight no one was winning. As so, he dedicated all of his energy to turn his knife red. And, as Scar brought his spike to impale him closer, Isaac SLASHed. The move cut the spike clean in half and shocked Scar at the same time. Isaac then aimed to stab Scar, but the Ishvalan used all the strength in his legs to back off.

Scar reached to the ground with his hand of deconstruction and threw a bunch of debris at Isaac, but the forgemaster simply used his knife to block all of it and started running towards Scar. In response, Scar fired one of those giant cylinders from the ground to push off Isaac, yet the forgemaster just jumped as high as he could. He started sliding down the weapon from Scar. Once he got to the bottom, he jumped off and tried to stab Scar in the air, but the Ishvalan quickly dodge away.

That didn’t stop Isaac, who got up and dashed towards Scar. He tried to stab Scar, but he dodge. Again and again, he tried to slice the man up, but Scar just kept dodging. It was then that Scar as his chance and reached out his hand to finally punish Isaac...but the forgemaster moved his head, and avoided the hand of deconstruction.

SLICE!

Bloody spurted as the dagger cut through the Ishvalan’s arm, giving him yet another nasty scar. Isaac cut across Scar’s chest, cheek, and other arm; it left blood all over the area. He readied his knife and prepared to stab Scar and end the fight. As he brought the knife to him, Scar just barely avoided it by going back, but his wounds caused him to fall over from the force of it.

With Scar on the ground, Isaac gripped his knife as hard as he could. He starred Scar cold in the eye; the Ishvalan now knew that the fight was ending here. “Perhaps you’re perspective will change when you join my army.” He raised his knife and-

SPIKE!

From the hand of recreation, sharp spikes had formed from the ground once again, all aimed at Isaac...and the forgemaster had dodged them. He had moved himself to the side and lowered both of his hands, ensuring he was safe. “You should know that trying the same thing and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.”

Scar looked at the man and...smiled. “Then maybe I’ve gone...sane.”

Isaac felt something on his knife-holding hand. Something surrounding it. He looked to see it. From the ground had risen a rock structure had incased Isaac’s hand and knife. It was created by Scar, who wasn’t done. Using the hand of creation one more time, Scar manipulated his rock structure to quickly shift.

CRUNCH!

“AAAAAUGH!” Isaac screamed in pain, his bones snapping as his very flesh was shifted with the rock. Blood splattered everywhere. Isaac was now free from the rock, but now the two half’s of his arm had been separated, along with the knife. Isaac moved back in absolute pain, unknowingly going further towards the edge. Meanwhile, Scar rose and approached the armless man.

“For all the criticisms I have with the art, at least alchemists knew NOT THE PLAY WITH DEATH!”

Scar cracked his arm of destruction and it approached the injured man. And then...it made contact. The hand and face started sparking as Isaac jittered and spasmed, his bleeding getting worse. And then…

GUSH!

It was over. Isaac bleed everywhere, for his guts and organs were destroyed. His opponent let go of his head, and the necromancer’s dead corpse started to fall off of Scar’s creation. As the dead body fell further away, Scar sat down on his tower, alone at last. He started to recover his breath and hoped he’d live to see tomorrow.

“God, today I have returned many souls to you...exert proper judgement and please...make sure they never return.”

KO![]

(Music: Fullmetal Alchemist Main Theme)

Boomstick: So what was that about ‘going to live’ again?

Wiz: This was an interesting match to deal with. Scar and Isaac were both incredibly intimidating and strong fighters, easily some of the toughest people in their respective universes. It’s very possible Isaac could overwhelm Scar with his night creatures or Scar could outperform him with his alchemy.

Boomstick: So, I’m guessing that this is the part where we run the numbers. Will we calculate the size and energy needed to create and destroy stuff? Or scale Scar to some people whom he’s fought? We could also find Isaac’s durability by looking at Carmilla’s explosion, right?

Wiz: If we were to do that, I might be able to discredit that feat saying that the only reason Isaac survived is that Abel to take it for him...however, funnily enough, none of the feats mattered at all.

Boomstick: Here’s the cool thing about this battle: both Isaac and Scar only needed one hit to win. If Scar could touch Isaac on the face, it’s bye-bye for him. However, if Isaac were to stab Scar, we wouldn’t just have a dead Scar; we’d have a Scar the Night Creature. Knowing how strong Scar is now, that’s a terrifying thing to think about.

Wiz: But that idea will forever remain a thought thanks to one thing; Speed. With only one hit between victory and death, who could get in first matters a lot. And well Trevor dodging arrows is incredibly impressive, that’s nothing to Scar dancing away from bullets and keeping up with Edward Elric.

Boomstick: Your average arrow can move, at max, 300 km/h. Glock bullets can go at an average of 1350 km/h. That’s 4 times faster, and Scar dodges these like they’re nothing! And back to Edward, the man can dodge bullets at point-blank range. Following this calc, that's over 3500 km/h! In a close-ranged match, there is no way Isaac's getting out of that one with his organs intact.

Wiz: A counterargument might be that Isaac could buy time with his Night Creatures. However, Scar’s clever too and has many ways to get past the demons. Whether it be with smoke, alchemy platforms, destroying the environment, etc.

Boomstick: And it really doesn’t help that those guys should be around Isaac’s speed and slower than Scar. And even if Scar couldn’t kill them, Isaac’s the end goal here. He could just run straight to him and de-organ him any time. Even if the night creatures would fight him after, Isaac's still dead and Scar's still the winner.

Wiz: Isaac was an incredible fighter who could kill so many, even if they were stronger than him. But at the end of the day, Scar could do the same and way faster than Isaac could ever dream. In the end, Scar’s endurance, alchemy, tactics and speed would leave Isaac with the very souls he draws from.

Boomstick: But now I kinda feel guilty. I mean, we did just leave all the Isaac fans scarred for life.

Wiz: The winner is Scar.

Next Time[]

"Well, the way I see it, there are eight of us and four seats on the chopper. Or is that math too much for a greasy biker like you?"

"Ugh, I hate suits."

LEFT 4 DEAD 1 VS LEFT 4 DEAD 2

Q&A[]

Could Scar actually use his alchemy on the Night Creatures?

That's...a tough one. We don't know for sure what Night Creatures are made of. As they come from humans, they may be made of the same things we are despite...differences. At the same time, they could be made of completely different elements. Assuming the ladder is true: 1. Night Creatures can still die with brute force and impalement, meaning Scar would just have to get creative. 2. Isaac is 100% human and is the end goal, so it really didn't matter.

What about FMA 2003?

Way too different to matter, much like the Castlevania video games.

Could Isaac and Scar's one hit kills be considered no limits fallacies?

No. They still have to be fast and durable enough to catch their opponent.

How certain are you with the verdict?

Maybe I missed something. But for now, I'm very confident in a Scar victory.

Thoughts on both characters?

They were both my favourites for their respective series, so yeah, I think highly of them.

Would you like to see this as an actual Death Battle?

I imagine they'd have a hard time simplifying the connections and therefor getting this match popular among the common people, espiecally considering that these two of pretty underrated. But other than that, I'd love to see it happen.

Trivia[]

-The connection between the combatants is that they are both religious men (Scar was a monk and Isaac was Sufi) who come from tragic backgrounds, Scar was a survivor of genocide while Isaac was heavily abused. Both sought out revenge onto groups that they believed to be corrupt using ungodly arts, but eventually decided to calm down and let go of the revenge, choosing to recreate instead of destroy. Both also spent their last fight taking down tyrants (Bradley and Carmilla).

-The battle track would be called Forging Scars. It would be dark and orchestral like the soundtracks of both combatant's series. The logo would be Isaac's forgemaster knife stabbing into a blood X-scar.

-The fight would be animated in either traditional 2D or puppet sprites, maybe a combination.
