Kingdom Hearts vs Naruto! Two of fiction's famous rivals go blade to blade in a climactic battle!
Prelude[]
Random: Rivals. They build you up by breaking you down, and push you to go past what you've already done.
Jolley: And these two are some of the best rivals out there to have!
Random: Riku, rival of Sora and a guy fighting off his former darkness-
Jolley: -And Sasuke, rival of Naruto and one of the last members of the Uchiha clan.
Random: I'm Random and this is Jolley, and we're here to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win, in a Death Battle!
Riku[]
Random: Long ago on a remote and secluded area known as the Destiny Islands, there were three children.
Jolley: One was Sora, a young boy with untapped potential, another was Kairi, a young girl from lands unknown to even herself, and the last was Riku, Sora's close friend and rival.
Random: See, ever since Riku was a young child, he and Sora had been playfully training and sparing with each other, to make the other stronger.
Jolley: Eventually, a man by the name of Terra visited the island, and had a vision of young Riku's potential. He decided to make Riku his successor, and gave him the power of the Keyblade.
Random: However, this path of hope, good, and light wasn't meant to last, as after the Heartless attacked Destiny Island, Riku was discovered by Maleficent. She saw Riku's potential as well, yet manipulated Riku's heart to that of darkness, turning him against Sora and leading them to be enemies.
Jolley: Yet despite everything going against him, Riku eventually managed to redeem himself on the path of light, and become Sora's friendly rival once again. Truly a touching story.
Random: Riku is Sora's rival for a reason, as he's an absolute powerhouse. As Sora can fight people like Ansem and Xemnas, who upscale from Zeus, who formed an entire constellation for Sora with just his telekinesis!
Jolley: He can also upscale from beings like Monstro, who is a massive space whale that cross entire solar systems in just a few minutes!
Random: And yes, it is exactly what it sounds like. There's a massive space whale that traverses deep space in Kingdom Hearts. Oddly enough not the weirdest thing out there.
Jolley: Anyways, let's talk about Keyblades, as they have a LOT of unique features to them. Random?
Random: Gotcha bud.
- Random focuses for a moment before Braveheart materializes in his hand. Jolley then puts a pure black hazmat suit, and picks up a cage.
Jolley: Inside this cage is a being known as a heartless. See, people in Kingdom Hearts have three parts to em, body, soul, and heart. Hearts are basically, well the only way to truly kill a person in Kingdom Hearts is by completely destroying them. Otherwise they'll turn into a heartless or nobody.
Random: But these babies can keep the heartless from coming back, despite the fact they'd just continuously regenerate over and over again. They can even turn people into conceptual shards with a slash! Whoops!
- Random accidentally drops the keyblade, which falls on both Jolley and the Heartless simultaneously, causing the heartless to dissipate and Jolley to break apart into shards.
Random: Shit shit shit! CONCEPT DRONES GO!!!
- A bunch of drones fly out from the room and collects Jolley's conceptual shards before merging them back together.
Jolley: Oh god thanks man! I thought I was gone forever there!
Random: So did Sora. Anyways, keyblades can open portals, both lock and unlock things stored in keyholes, and even project the user's heart into someone else, possessing them. These things are crazy!
Jolley: If that wasn't enough for ya, Riku still has a bunch of techniques at his disposal. Like the Dark Firaga, a homing ball of dark flames!
Random: In Chain of Memories, Riku got access to these things known as enemy cards. They can have a variety of effects, for example, while the Dark Firaga is still slightly homing by nature, Riku can make his other attacks homing as well. There's also an insane card known as Warp Break, that straight up wipes the enemy out from existence at the end of a combo!
Jolley: He also of course knows some powerful magic like Stop, which stops time, Bind, which binds the enemy, Cure to heal himself, Mini to shrink his foes down, etc etc.
Random: Now we get to Riku's most powerful technique of all, the Power of Waking. Its an ability he and Sora possesses, that can do some crazy stuff. Sora once used it to reset the whole timeline!
Jolley: That's an insane amount of power. No wonder Riku continues to rival Sora throughout all of Kingdom Hearts.!
Random: He truly is a great rival.
Riku: This seemed like a boring place to take a nap anyway.
Sasuke[]
Random: Long ago, there were many founding Shinobi Clans that formed together to create the Hidden Leaf Village, also known as the Konohagakure, or Konoha for short.
Jolley: And there was no clan as well revered as that of the Uchihas. Unfortunately, that didn't last long for them, as the clan's head was exposed as desiring to create a coup, and as such, the Third Hokage sought the help of Itachi to assassinate them all.
Random: And kill them he did, all except for one. His brother, Sasuke. Naturally that didn't sit so well with Sasuke, who was filled with hatred from his brother's actions.
Jolley: So he set off to kill his brother. Throughout his history, Sasuke was a constant rival for Naruto, who's ultimately noble goal was mucked up by working with criminals and villains left and right.
Random: However eventually at the end of it all, Sasuke and Naruto reconciled in the ultimate battle of their wills and bond. Now he travels the world to protect Konoha, while occasionally mentoring for his rival's son Boruto.
Jolley: Who names their kid a knock off name of themselves?
Random: The world may never know. Now, naturally being a successful ninja means you have tons of techniques up your sleeve, and Sasuke is no different in that department. He knows a multitude of techniques to get the job done.
Jolley: The most basic of which is his Fire Release, one of the 5 elemental chakras, which typically involves Sasuke breathing fire out of his mouth.
Random: He also has a nice secondary element in the Lightning Release, and is adept in it enough to perform advanced techniques like the Chidori or Kirin. Which he can use to amp himself or summon a massive lightning dragon.
Jolley: Beyond the elemental jutsus, Sasuke is a practitioner in both cloning and substitution techniques, both of which he uses throw his opponents off in a fight.
Random: Then he has a couple summons in the form of hawks and snakes from Orochimaru, both of which Sasuke can use for both offense and overall utility.
Jolley: Then we get into Sasuke's signature abilities. Like the Sharingan, the signature ability of the Uchihas unlocked by severe mental stress. Basically, it grants Sasuke a ton of abilities just with his eyes, like the ability to catch onto things like microscopic creatures and even muscle movements from those observed.
Random: He's also able to mix his Sharingan with Genjutsu, the art of fancy ninja illusions. These affect all your senses and can be used to shatter someone's will.
Jolley: However, there is another form beyond the Sharingan, the Mangekyo Sharingan. This grants Sasuke access to some of his most advanced techniques.
Random: He has Amaterasu, deep black flames that appear wherever he looks, can burn other flames, and will burn for seven days and nights straight unless he wills it otherwise. He also has access to Susanoo, a massive tengu construct that can fight on Sasuke's behalf and even use some of his techniques. With it, he can even cut meteors!
Jolley: After all that, there's still one more evolution of the Sharingan, the Rinnegan! This enhances Sasuke's old Sharingan techniques even further, as well as granting him access to the Six Paths technique.
Random: These sixth paths are Deva, Asura, Human, Animal, Preta, and Naraka. Now Jolley is going to demonstrate all of them for us. Right after a weird bit of surgery.
Jolley: Wait what?
- Random claps his hands as some bots fly in, before the lights go out. The sounds of motorized tools can be heard before the lights come back on, and Jolley looks the same as before, but with a Rinnegan in place of his left eye.
Jolley: Right, so after that...event, I'm now going to perform the six techniques. The Deva Path allows me to pull to draw matter to myself, the Asura Path allows me to manifest multiple new arms with mechanized bits in them, and the Human Path allows me to straight rip the soul out of someone.
- Jolley first starts by pulling Random to him, then turns an extra arm into a cannon and blasts Random with it, before pulling him back again and ripping out his soul.
Random: Hey! Cmon man leave my soul alone!
- Random's soul then floated back into his body and he rose up with a frown on his face.
Jolley: With the Animal Path, I can summon massive animals to attack my foes, the Preta Path allows me to drain Chakra in a defensive manner, and the Naraka Path let's me summon the Ultimate Lie Detector, where the cost for lying to me is death!
- Random then goes in to punch Jolley, who uses the Preta Path to block him, Jolley then uses the Animal Path to summon a giant centipede on him. Jolley then uses the Naraka Path and summons the King of Hell.
Jolley: Did you eat my cookie?
Random: No, a raccoon came in and stole it.
Jolley: Well c'ya man, no way that's true.
- The King of Hell then disappears and Random drops to the ground panting.
Random: I told you. Those little bandits will swipe anything they get their hands on.
Jolley: Well I'm sorry for summoning the King of Hell on you. Anyways, with all these techniques and power at his disposal, Sasuke is truly a ninja you don't want to mess with.
Sasuke: This is the path I walk. Not you or anyone can change that.
Interlude[]
Random: Alright, the combatants are set and we've reached a conclusion from the data.
Jolley: Its time for a Death Battle!
Death Battle[]
Hidden Leaf Village
Deep in the forests of Konoha, Riku was walking through the area. Unbeknownst to him, someone was watching.
Riku: There doesn't seem to be any sign of Xemnas or the heartless anywhere. I should probably go to meet back up with Sora and the King.
Then from the trees above, multiple Kunai fly out towards Riku, who summons his keyblade to deflect them all.
Sasuke: You aren't going any further without answering my questions.
Riku: Kinda rude to ask questions after you just picked a fight. So no I think I'll keep going.
Sasuke then draws his sword, glaring at Riku.
Sasuke: It wasn't a request.
FIGHT!!!
The two swordsmen then ran towards each other, clashing their blades. The two then began to slash at each other, before Riku managed to blow Sasuke back, and rushed up to stab him in the chest.
Riku: Is that really all you have to offer?
Suddenly "Sasuke's" body poofs into smoke and is replaced with a log.
Sasuke: Not even close. Shadow Clone Jutsu!
Then suddenly multiple clones of Sasuke's self appeared out of thin air, and lunged towards Riku.
Riku: Protect!
Riku shouted as he held up his keyblade, knocking back and destroying Sasuke's clones. However Sasuke quickly regained his balance in the air, and prepared for another attack.
Sasuke: Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!
Suddenly Sasuke released a massive stream of fire from his mouth upon Riku.
Riku: Aargh! Dark Firaga!
After Riku spoke, a ball of black flames shot out from Riku's keyblade, overpowering Sasuke's fire breath and knocking him backward. Not wanting to give Sasuke again space anymore, Riku shot out more balls of Dark Firaga, before he turned around started walking away.
Riku: Man, I can't believe I wasted so much time on this!
Behind Riku, a blue and white light shined out, and the sounds of birds chirping was heard, just as Riku turned around to see what was making the noise, his eyes blew wide open as he witnessed Sasuke attacking him with the Chidori.
Riku attempted to counterattack, but Sasuke was too quick and dodged out of the way before attacking Riku over and over again.
Riku: He's too fast, gotta think of something quick! Wait, where'd he go?
Sasuke: Up here! This is over!
Suddenly lightning struck down as Sasuke activated his most powerful Lighting Release technique, forming a massive dragon made of lightning. Kirin crashed down onto Riku, creating a massive explosion.
Riku: Gah! Larxene!
Riku then dashed up with Larxene's card, effortlessly resisting the power of Kirin, before bursting out of the lightning dome, and performing a combo with his keyblade, finishing it by knocking Sasuke to the ground. Riku then flew back down, into the crater he and Sasuke had created.
Riku: panting That was tough.
While Riku was recollecting himself, a small black flame appeared on his shoulder.
Riku: Wha?
Riku looked in horror as Sasuke once again was still standing, and the black flame suddenly spread to the rest of Riku's body, exploding him in flames.
Sasuke: You were no match for me, then and now.
Riku: Axel!
Sasuke: What?
The black flames suddenly dissipated from Riku's body as he walked forward towards Sasuke.
Sasuke: How?
Riku: The power of those that believe in me, makes me stronger then you could ever hope to achieve!
Sasuke: We'll see about that! Susano'o!
Suddenly Sasuke was radiating chakra, before it took shape in the form of a massive tengu.
Riku: Now this is what I'm talking about!
Susano'o lunged forward for an attack, but Riku just flew up and started Air Sliding around Susano'o's leg, before launching himself in the air again.
Riku: Woohoo! This is the best!
Susano'o goes to crush Riku between its hands, but Riku slips out and flies towards Sasuke.
Riku: Stop!
Both Susano'o and Sasuke freeze in place as Riku pulls a smirk before his next trick.
Riku: Mini!
Sasuke and Susano'o then shrunk down to Riku's foot, as Riku floats down to the ground once again.
Riku: Not so tough now big guy?
Riku then despawns his keyblade and backs up a bit, before rushing forward and kicking the Shrunken Susano'o, shattering it instantly and sending a tiny Sasuke flying. The effect of Mini wear off and Sasuke turns back to normal size before hitting the ground.
Riku: Thanks for at least not boring me to death with your fighting skills.
Riku then summons his keyblade once again as he flies up on last strike against Sasuke, however Sasuke, able to still move, prepares one final trick. As Riku flies forward, Sasuke activates his Sharingan, trapping Riku in a Genjustu.
Riku: Where am I? What is this place?
Riku didn't have time to ask anymore questions as a metal stake plunged into his body, and another, and another, and another. Riku screamed out in pain as more and more stakes plunged into his body, and he closed his eyes.
Riku: My heart was claimed by the Darkness once before...NEVER AGAIN!!!
Riku screamed out as he keyblade returned to him, and he plunged backward in time. Riku took a deep breath as he drew his keyblade and lunged forward, through his destination, seconds before his final strike.
Riku then plunges his keyblade into Sasuke's heart, seconds before Sasuke activated his Sharingan like before. Riku then pulls his keyblade out of Sasuke's body, before it shatters into hundreds of shards and scatters.
Riku: You put up a good fight, but no matter what, I'll always triumph over darkness.
KO!!!
Post Analysis[]
Jolley: Woah! That fight was insane! Kinda sad at the end though.
Random: It sure was, but at the end of the day Riku won, and we're here to explain how and why.
Jolley: Well let's get it on with it then. While on paper this may seem like a close fight, Riku had many more advantages over Sasuke.
Random: For example, Riku absolutely dominated in the stat department. Scaling to Roxas and Monstro makes Riku MUCH faster then Sasuke could dream of keeping up with, and Zeus and Sora scaling absolutely dwarf Kaguya scaling in the Strength department.
Jolley: It also didn't help that Riku had a response to almost all of Sasuke's techniques. The Axel and Larxene cards made Riku outright immune to Sasuke's two main forms of Elemental Jutsu, Mini to make the mighty Susano'o much less threatening, and his Keyblade's sealing powers to lock off Sasuke's space-time and dimensional travel techniques.
Random: Top that off with the fact Riku could always just freeze Sasuke in place with Stop, erase Sasuke with Warp Drive, and even undo Sasuke's actions with the Power of Waking.
Jolley: Now Sasuke does have some techniques that could possibly put Riku down for good with the Human or Naraka Path, but the problem with that option is Kingdom Hearts makes a pretty clear distinction between Heart and Soul, and the way to permanently kill a Kingdom hearts character is by destroying the Heart. Meaning you could easily argue the Human or Naraka Path wouldnt have the game changing effect its cracked out to be.
Random: So for having superior stats, abilities, and the overall skill to put Sasuke down for good the winner is-
Jolley: WAIT I GOTTA COME UP WITH A PUN FIRST! Uh...uh....guess Riku held the KEY to Sasuke's defeat.
Random: godammit....the winner is Riku.
