Sakura Miko is a character from the multi-media series known as Hololive. In her debut, she was described by herself as being a shrine maiden who's main objective was to maintain a shrine and serve Kami, as a means to spread purity to the land.

History[]
Sakura Miko used to work hard in the Virtual Sakura Shrine accomplishing duties as a shrine maiden until, following the Kami's orders, she was led to Japan where she found out about Tokino Sora. After developing a huge admiration for her, she decided to become a virtual shrine maiden idol and continue to work hard for that dream.
Later additions to Hololive reveal that Miko isn't just a servant of Kami that was created at the beginning of creation but akin to a "physical vessel" of Kami in which they can interact with the world formed from their contractions. They created Sakura Miko as we know her when they were exposed to cute culture, animation, games, and many other human things that made them want to become an idol. With time, Sakura Miko has become an otaku at heart and developed a deep passion for various things in human culture. Despite being connected to Kami, Sakura Miko has largely become disconnected from the being in terms of personality and has become more human, developing her existence
Kami is the original wholeness in which creation existed, representing "Monad" from Gnosticism but also being an accumulation of many interpretations of god from various mythologies. Initially, all of creation was merely Kami but when they decided to contract themselves, division and distinction came into being, in which the foundations for reality came into existence. After the creation of the world came to be, Kami's spirit still resides in the undivided world and also as Sakura Miko, a "vessel" that ties them to the world.
