This is a What-If? Death Battle featuring Sadira from Killer Instinct and Mileena from Mortal Kombat. The idea was by ArachnoGia in 2016 and adopted by RohgeKiller in 2021.

Prelude[]
Wiz: A Femme Fatale is described as an attractive and seductive woman who causes distress or disaster to the man who becomes involved with her.
Boomstick: In other words, not my ex-wife because she was less seductive and more, just dangerous.
Wiz: How's that?
Boomstick: She just liked to shoot everything that moved. And I mean, everything, Wiz!. (sigh) I miss our midnight gun fights.
Wiz: Well, maybe you’ll find some charm in these fine ladies. Sadira, the sadistic and acquisitive spider assassin.
One of those ''I am speed'' characters.
Boomstick: And Mileena. Outworld's deadly Edenian/Tarkatan hybrid.
Just keep her away from bugs and she'll be fine.
Wiz: I’m Wiz and he’s Boomstick. And today we’re taking a look at these two deadly blends of beauty and beast to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Sadira[]
Wiz: We’ve previously brought up the corporation UltraTech before on this series.
Boomstick: If that name doesn’t ring a bell….it's evil Walmart. So, normal Walmart if they tampered with creation and designed weapons of mass destruction.
Wiz: They’re responsible for the creation of Fulgore and Riptor, but what you might not know is that the current leader of UltraTech is also a cyberized construction known as the ‘’Advanced Robotics Intelligence Architecture" or ARIA. ‘Her’ goal is to essentially save the human race by ending disease, war, poverty and more importantly, protecting the earth from the evil Gargos.
Boomstick: Sounds a little too good to be true, Wiz. After all, her Wikipedia page describes her as an antagonist. But if she’s and antagonist to the biggest antagonist, then I guess she’s alright.
Wiz: Regardless of her true intentions, ARIA knew she could never do this alone and sought out many mystical warriors to aid her. One of those is the web slinging, gold digging spider queen of the Red Eyes. Sadira.

Boomstick: And here I thought furries had the ultimate animal fetish, but this chick takes it to a whole other level. She’s literally a spider lady, webs and all.
Wiz: Much of Sadira's past is unknown, but it is confirmed that she lived and fought in a refugee camp at a young age before being picked up by ‘The Mentor’. This Mentor trained her in Tai Chi and Muay Boran, a taiwanese boxing form that emphasises on a solid self-defense with deadly counterstrikes and grappling techniques.

Wiz: Sadira has a fascination with the Salticidae family of spiders. You might know them as the jumping spiders, which is completely appropriate for Sadira’s skillset. She’ll use moves the Blade Demon, Willows Bite and Recluse to open up her opponent for her strongest attribute.
Boomstick: Because she’s not only fast, but like a jumping spider she’ll pick her moments carefully and launch into every KI newbie's worst nightmare: Ultra Combos.
Yep, everyone loves them and hates to be caught in them. With her superhuman agility, she can juggle her foes both on the ground and in the air. And if her opponent ever gets the upper hand, she’ll dash away and come back like an angry spider.
Wiz: And whatever physical limitations she may have can be made up with her supernatural abilities granted by the Spider Amulet. She was already a deadly assassin before killing her mentor, but with the power of the amulet which literally borrowed into her heart, she can manipulate spider silk to create deadly traps for follow-up attacks.
Boomstick: Her webbing is strong enough to hold 500+ pound Fulgore. And even without her webbing she can still knock people at least a dozen feet in air when using her deadlier combos.
Wiz: And if that’s not enough, she can make her moves more deadly with shadow techniques, and can activate her Instinct Mode. This gives her more options for trapping her opponent and performing even deadlier combos.
Boomstick: It’s no wonder she became one of ARIA’s top lieutenants. She’s successfully silenced many fake news critics of Ultratech, and fought some of the greatest threats to ARIA’s masterplan. Including Chief Thunder, Orchid, Glacius and Jago, the latter two are considered to be the most dangerous threats to Ultratech. With all that skill under her belt, she must be near unstoppable. Right?

Wiz: Not the case, Boomstick. While capable of defeating some of the toughest warriors in the tournament, Sadira has a rather weak track record when it comes to 1v1 victories. She’s lost most of her fights with Orchid, Cinder and Glacius. It's also worth pointing out that she is more willing to surrender than actually risk her life, as shown when confronted by Black Orchid.
Boomstick: She’s also easily distracted by shiny things, usually gold. I’m the same way with a nice, refreshing cold one. I’ll drop anything for that, including this character examination. Excuse me Wiz. *walks off*
Wiz: (sigh)
Mileena[]
Boomstick: Whenever I talk about my father, I tend to fall into a deep alcoholic depression for the following 2 weeks or so. But at least my father isn’t a tyrannical conqueror who is also kinda shitty to his kids.
Wiz: That’s…. One way to describe Shao Kahn.
Boomstick: I was talking about Darth Vader but that works too.
Wiz: Anyway, after the ruler of Outworld conquered the peaceful realm of Edenia, he claimed Queen Sindel as his wife and Princess Kitana as his daughter. It would later be revealed that Shao Kahn only kept Kitana around at the behest of Sindel.
Boomstick: This didn’t really sit well with the emperor, who wanted a daughter of his own. And one that was completely obedient, which Kitana wasn’t. Ah, the struggles of a tyrannical overlord.
Spider: So Shao Kahn did what any father would do, and ordered his greatest sorcerer, Shang Tsung, to create a clone of Kitana.
Boomstick: Because that’s totally ethical.
Wiz: This clone would be deadlier, faster and most of all, completely obedient to her ‘father’. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you. Mileena.

Boomstick: I’m digging the color scheme but what’s with the crocodile teeth?
Wiz: For whatever reason, the sorcerer decided to mix Kitana's DNA with that of a Tarkatan. Giving her a maw of razor sharp teeth capable of severing limbs. As well as very cat-like eyes.
Boomstick: She’s also got a bit of the crazy, which I’m not sure was intentional. But either way she REALLY has it in for her ‘sister’ and has constantly tried to usurp and kill her….emphasis on tried.

Wiz: All those attempts were made possible by her training in Ying Yeung and Mien Chaun. These two fighting styles emphasise quick strikes and even deadlier set ups. Which coincides with her most famous weapon. The three-pronged sai’s that are perfect for stabbing and trapping her opponents weapons.
Boomstick: She also used to fight with a longsword but it hasn’t come up recently. But even unarmed she’s still very dangerous with those teeth of hers. Not to mention her bare hands can rip through flesh and tear heads off their shoulders. She was once compared to having the strength of a Shokan, you know, the four armed giants.
Wiz: Mileena is also incredibly fast thanks to her Tarkatan physiology. She can close the distance with quick dashes, a rolling ball attack and her teleportation, which she can do multiple times in a single instance. She can even teleport as a reaction or in mid air.
Boomstick: And when she gets the chance, she’ll use one of her many fatalities. Sai Stabs is exactly what it sounds like. Maneater lets her literally swallow a person whole and spit out their bones, and Nail Shooter requires her to eat a jar of nails and spit them out like a machine gun.
Wiz: When all is said and done, Mileena is easily one of Shao Kahn's deadliest enforcers. Her ruthless yet cunning nature makes her hard to defeat, even for talented fighters like Kung Lao and Jade. And despite everything going completely wrong, she stood by her ‘father’ through thick and thin, and even became Kahn after her fathers death at the hands of Raiden….only to lose it to Kotal and never get it back.
Boomstick: And then she got kissed to death by a bug lady. I don’t get how someone so powerful could be so easily overthrown?

Wiz: Some call it bad writing, but if we take what we see into context, Mileena is only as deadly as she is deceitful. Despite her abilities she has very little wins under her belt, even in the old timeline.
Boomstick: She’s been defeated by the likes of Johnny Cage, Stryker, Kitana, Jade, D’Vorah, and Kitana again. Have we mentioned she hasn’t defeated her sister yet?
Wiz: She also has a pretty interesting inferiority complex that results in her going into blind rages that even someone like a recently cyberized Kabal could take advantage of. Keep in mind, he also defeated Noob Saibot at the same time.
Boomstick: But look at it this way, the fans loved her so much that they eventually had to bring her back. And with all those weapons and a pair of pretty gnarly teeth, I see some heads rolling in the future.
Pre-Fight[]
‘’Remember Mileena, we are here to sway these warriors to our cause. Which means you must remain passive unless I give the order.’’ Said an irritated Shang Tsung. Prior to his arrival, his creation had attacked and slaughtered an entire village of defenseless people.
Not just the men. But the women.
And the children too.
‘’I do hope they resist.’’ The Tarkatan hybrid cooed. Dancing off and around the mangled bodies of the fallen soldiers, a manic grin hidden from view. Her purple and pink kunoichi outfit stained slightly in the blood of the villagers. ‘’But it will be fun to have more friends to join us in our war against Earthrealm.’’ She acknowledged.
The sorcerer merely grunted in response before heading for the nearby cave entrance. His private agents had gotten word of an assassin guild known as the Red Eyes of Rylai, located somewhere in remote Thailand. It took some convincing but he was able to get permission from Shao Kahn to investigate, and convince them to join their cause.
Unfortunately, the emperor was also very insistent on letting Mileena join him as a test of her skills.
The pair entered the cave with little resistance, aside from a few well placed spider webs. They soon found themselves in a massive hallow, decorated with a plethora jewels and ornaments, as well as being covered in spiderwebs. A dozen or women dressed in elegant garbs were sprinkled around the cave, and stood out like a fish out of water. But Shang Tsung paid them little mind and only sought to approach their leader.
Even as they neared the center of the cave and at the foot of the throne, the veiled women did nothing but look at the trespassers. They did turn their heads to the ceiling, which both Outworders noticed and followed their eyes.
Descending from the roof of the cave was a hooded figure with eyes as bright as flame behind a decorative mask. Like Mileena, her clothing was rather revealing. That didn’t distract either enforcer from the bladed gauntlets with talons on the end of the woman's hands.
‘’Who dares to enter the lair of the Red Eyes!’’ Sadira snarls, still hanging from the ceiling a few feet above the intruders.
‘’Greetings. I am Shang Tsung.’’ The sorcerer bowed as he would to his superiors. ‘’On behalf of my emperor, Shao Kahn, I am here to offer a proposal that would greatly benefit both of us.’’ He said, praying to the elder gods that he would be able to convince the assassins leader to join them.
While Shang Tsung continued to speak, Mileena watched as the other veiled women conversed with one another. Their attention didn’t appear to be on their leader or Shang Tsung, but rather on her. It was a little unnerving for the cannibal to be looked at with such discomfort.
It reminded her too much of her ‘sister’
‘’...and our gracious emperor will bestow great wealth and power upon those who side with him in the tournament.’’ Shang Tsung continued, being careful not to offend the assassin. Shao Kahn would only punish him further if they failed to get more warriors for the tournament.
But Sadira already had great power, and even greater wealth thanks to ARIA. What more could she ever want?
‘’And what if I refuse?” She asked, much to the emperors ‘’daughters’’ dismay, who growled before Shang Tsung could give a more respectful answer.
‘’You would dare disobey the orders of the great Shao Kahn!’’ Mileena bared her shielded teeth at the hanging Sadira. Causing the nearby assassins to rise from their seats in protest. The cave itself shakes at Mileena's words. ‘’You are not even worthy of being in his presence, let alone denying his enforcers. Or his princess!’’ She continued before Shang Tsung could order to be silent.
But Sadira had heard enough as the other assassins began closing in.
‘’I can assure you that this, minor transgressi…’’ The Sorcerer attempted to explain before being cut off by the rushing of blades. Separating the two outworlders as Shang Tsung teleported a safe distance away, drawing the other assassins to him while Sadira smirked at Mileena from above.
‘’You insult me in my lair and demand my services! How unwise.’’
FIGHT![]
With phenomenal athletics, the pink-clad hybrid launched herself a dozen or so feet in the air, tackling her stunned opponent and causing them both to crash onto the ground. Just before she could properly pin Sadira, the spider brought her legs up and kicked her veiled opponent over her.
Mileena repositioned herself mid flight, but failed to react as the jumping spider delivered a series of aerial kicks. Almost trapping her in another combo before the Kahn was able to teleport out of her opponents range. Landing on her feet before summoning her sai’s and tossing them at the assassin.
“Pathetic!” Sadira said as she slid under the Sai’s and attacked Mileena’s legs. Striking quickly and weaving under Mileena before comboing with a rising shadow kick that sent her adversary into the air. Throwing multiple knives with spider silk attached to them in the hopes of subduing her foe, Sadira could only watch as Mileena disappeared in a cloud of purple mist.
She heard the sound of laughter before anything else as Mileena appeared behind her. Striking her in the back with a flying kick before doing the same thing again to her front and rushing forward. Sai’s drawn once again.
She struck forward to catch Sadira at the edge of her ornate mask, catching the blades of the gauntlets and the two attacked one another like a pair of angry dogs on the same leash. Using her strength advantage, the Kahn pulled Sadira closer and rammed her head forward before kneeing her opponent twice in the gut.
The combination of blows destroyed the mask around the assassins eyes and left her stunned as Mileena rushed forward to impale the spider queen. Webbing flies from Sadira’s wrist as she pulls herself away.
Clinging to a nearby wall and ripping off the remainder of her mask, Sadira had little time to catch her breath before the cat-like eyes of Mileena appeared in a burst of purple smoke.
The ends of her sai’s just missing their target and embedded themselves into the wall. But she always had sai’s to spare, and the animalistic pair proceeded to trade blows on the cave wall. Sadira’s webbing allowed her to cling to the stone while Mileena used her 3 pronged weapons as climbing tools.
Mileena teleported on multiple occasions in the hopes of dislodging her opponent from her perch. Though the spider queen was able to counter with a variety of aerial counters.
One swipe in particular cut the veil from Mileena’s mouth, revealing her hideous tarkatan maw.
‘’You’re mine!’’ Mileena growled as she lunged for her opponent's throat, managing to dig her sai’s into Sadira's gut. Crying in pain just before Mileena attempted to dig her teeth into her exposed throat.
The mangled teeth only managed to scrape the edge of Sadira’s collarbone before she used her webbing like a rope and swung herself away. As Mileena lunged to finish the wounded spider, Sadira delivered a powerful kick mid-air that knocked her off the side of the wall.
While in mid-air, the leader of the Red Eye listened for the sound of Mileena’s teleportation and turned toward its direction. Thrusting forward and driving the end of her talons into the ribcage of Mileena, who gasped in agony.
Despite their respective injuries, both were able to stop themselves to eating the dirt below with their respective acrobatics.
The Kahn’s heir once again threw a pair of Sai’s which Sadira effortlessly blocked as she rushed Mileena. But the tarkatan unsheathed a wicked looking longsword. Using its length to keep her opponent at bay while backing her into a corner.
Laughing maniacally as she suddenly rushed forward, blade ready to impale the spider against the stone wall behind her. Sadira raised her bladed gauntlets in defense and used the momentum to drive the blade into the stone. Snapping it before unleashing a torrent of quick kicks and bladed strikes, following with the blade demon and knocking Mileena off her feet.
Though the tarkatan hybrid used the momentum and rolled into Sadira’s legs like a bowling ball. Lunging onto Sadira’s prone back and driving her sai’s into her opponents back back and digging her ferocious teeth into the spider's shoulder. Causing blood to spurt as the tendon she pulled back, almost severing her shoulder.
She then grabbed the top of Sadira’s screaming head, playfully and sadistically licking the side of her face and whispering ‘’Tasty spider.’’ before opening her maw, ripe for decapitation.
Just when the deadly teeth were about to make contact, the fiery eyed spider managed to bring her hands up and grabbed at the Kahn's head. Using the blades on her wrists to slice at the arms and jaw of Mileena, forcing her to release her grip.
‘’I’ll drink from your skull!’’ Mileena cried. Eyes glazed over with rage that culminated in her summoning her deadly sai’s and striking at the wounded Sadira.
So imagine the princess’s surprise when the spider managed to trap her Sai’s in between her wrists blades and before she could do anything, the Red Eye assassin went full Instinct Mode. Trapping the dazed Mileena with her webbing, she leaped at the defenseless princess and began striking with a series of aerial kicks and shadow slices from every possible angle.
Her movements were so precise that it didn’t matter when the webbing eventually dissipated, the tarkatan creation couldn’t possibly react to them in time.
Though she was able to teleport away and attempted to attack her foe from above, which proved to be a massive mistake. One massive front kick sent Mileena into the air, only to be pulled back and shadow kicked even further into the air.
She then began spinning herself through the air like a buzzsaw, slicing at Mileena’s flesh and shooting out her webbing, catching the Kahn and propelling both of them through the air.
Dazed and confused, Mileena soon found herself wrapped in silk and pinned to the roof of the cave. She frantically clawed at the webs, snapped at them with her maw before it was shut closed.
And at her front was a fiery eyed Sadira.
SLASH!
As quick as she found herself attempting to scream, Mileena’s throat was silenced by a quick slash to the throat. Blood pouring from her neck like a river as the light drained from her catlike eyes.
The spider proceeded to twirl to the wall behind her to admire her handiwork. Smirking as the many small spiders began to eat away at Mileena's flesh. Shang Tsung's deadliest creation was no more.
‘’Welcome to my web, Princess.’’

Boomstick: Oh no, here they come! *Rushes to blockade the door* I knew this would happen.
Wiz: What’s going on?
Boomstick: It’s the Mileena fanboys, and girls. They get really mad if something happens to their queen. I can still see the riots from when D’Vorah killed her the first time.
Wiz: Riots? *A brick crashes through the studio window* Well maybe if we explain the outcome they’ll go away.
Boomstick: Don’t bet on it.
Wiz: First things first: You wouldn’t be wrong in saying that either combatant has a pretty poor track record in one on one matches. Neither one has really achieved the level of success they’ve strived for all these years, but there are outliers that help determine the outcome.
Boomstick: Both have served under a tyrannical overlord before but Sadira seems to be more independent, with her being the leader of an assassins guild and all.
Wiz: Mileena's greatest asset was without a doubt her deception. She was able to fool an entire nation into thinking that she was her sister, Kitana. But once the ruse was over, she lost almost all of her advantages. And when she did attempt to fight for the throne, the only reason she lasted so long was because of third parties and Shinnok's amulet, which she also acquired because of a third party (rain).
Boomstick: Plus, she’s never shown that level of deception on the battlefield, and it’s not like she had anything to offer Sadira. So this would all come down to their physical abilities.
Wiz: Mileena was much more brutal and cynical which helped against Sadira's rushdown style. The Spider of the Red Eye is faster when you scale her to Jago, who can rival Fulgores top speed of Mach 3, and her martial arts techniques far exceed Mileena’s more animalistic fighting style. Though her teleportation and Tarkatan physiology gave the Kahn a momentary leg up. Especially in the strength department. She can tear through people with her bare hands after all.
Boomstick: Wasn’t she also able to cut through those metal statues when fighting Kitana? But….wait….wasn’t she also completely stomped by a very human Stryker? But...didn’t she also fight Kabal who can move at mach 3?.... But then she lost to a weakened Kotal Khan who is nowhere near that fast….Wiz, I’m very confused about her strengths, or how she loses in general. Or how she’s still alive!
Wiz: Multiple timelines with multiple endings, Boomstick. But let's try to break it down:
To be fair, Kabal in MK9 had just gotten his augmentations prior to facing her, so he wouldn’t have been completely used to them. Which kinda looks even worse for Mileena. As for strength, she certainly held that advantage even if you don’t count the statue feat, but not by too much.
Boomstick: Sadira has little problem being able to ambush and take down guys as big as Chief Thunder, or even combo them a dozen or so feet into the air. And I’m willing to bet her webbing could easily hold Mileena, seeing as it can hold back the strength of a reinforced, steel plated Fulgore unit. Heck, she was able to beat a Fulgore on her own.
Wiz: It doesn’t help that Mileena has lost to opponents with similar aerial rushdown styles on a regular basis. Two of those opponents were Kitana and, of course, D’Vorah.
*Brick flies through the window and hits Wiz*
Boomstick: I told you they don’t like to be reminded about that.
Wiz: Look, Mileena has clear advantages and would have certainly been able to crush almost anyone else. Unfortunately, the last few years just haven’t been kind to her and has only piled on loss after loss to opponents even weaker than Sadira. And while she might not be as ruthless, the spider queen was faster, a superior martial artist and had all the skills and more to keep Mileena down.
Boomstick: Sadira is a modern spider after all. No matter where Mileena ran, she could find her on the Web.
The winner is Sadira.
