Description

Kill la Kill vs Devilman Crybaby! Though they were suddenly forced with the responsibility of their new powers, they tried their damnedest to use them to save the world in the short time they had them. Will Ryuko and Senketsu be able to cut down their demonic opponent or will Akira burn the half alien combatant to cinders?

Interlude

Wiz: A hero isn't always defined by their accomplishments. Sometimes all it takes for someone to be a hero is to try their hardest to save the world against all odds, even when that responsibility is forced onto them out of nowhere.

Boomstick: Like Ryuko Matoi, the scissor blade swinging superheroine from Kill la Kill.

Wiz: And Akira Fudo, the human turned demon known as Devilman. For this, while we will be looking at both the manga and anime for Ryuko's analysis, we will only be looking at the Netflix adaptation Devilman Crybaby for Devilman's analysis and will only be looking at other sources for more info about abilities that aren't shown as much in the adaptation.

Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick...

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skill to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Ryuko

Wiz: Long before humanity reached modern day, when the human race was little more than a bunch of wild animals, the Life Fibers arrived on a primitive Earth. These alien creatures soon discovered that humans at the time were the most intelligent species on the planet and bonded themselves to them. From then on, human evolution was boosted tremendously. Within several thousand years, civilizations had been created, cities were built everywhere, and humans grew more and more intelligent, all while the Life Fibers continued to bond to humans through their very clothing.

Boomstick: So of course, once people got smart enough, they discovered the Life Fibers and started doing tests on them. Some wanted to do rational things like learning if they could talk to the weird alien string, while other people were... uh, much, much more crazy with their experiments.

Wiz: Enter Ragyo Kiryuin, a woman so possessed by her infatuation with these Life Fibers that she would have children for the sole purpose of attempting to fuse Life Fibers into them on a genetic level. Her two daughters were only infants at the time, but she would still attempt to stitch Life Fibers into their bodies. The oldest was too old for the experiment to take place making any attempt on her useless, while the youngest was unable to survive the procedure and died shortly after. Or so she thought.

Boomstick: After Ragyo tossed her supposedly dead daughter out like a right bitch, seriously who does that, her husband Soichiro left her for good and rescued his youngest daughter, who was, surprise, alive the whole time.

Wiz: Soichiro would then go into hiding under the name Isshin Matoi to research how to stop Ragyo and her plans, who believed that the entirety of Earth's population was destined to be food for the Life Fibers, and to raise this daughter better than Ragyo ever could. This was Ryuko Matoi.

Boomstick: Unfortunately, they didn't get along much and Isshin couldn't afford to research Life Fibers with his daughter around, so he sent her to boarding school so she could be someone else's problem. Hey, at least he didn't toss her down a garbage chute or something like that rainbow haired bitch.

Wiz: Naturally this would shape her into a bit of a delinquent over time as she hopped between different schools, until one day she finally returned home to find it broken in by an intruder. Her father was attacked and murdered by someone using his very own weapons moments before she arrived, and she had only gotten a glimpse of her father's killer before they vanished. From that point on, Ryuko made it her mission to track down the killer and avenge her father, making her way to Honnouji Academy with half a scissor blade in hand where she would get her answers from the Student Council President, Satsuki Kiryuin.

Boomstick: But she'd need more than determination and a scissor to climb up to Satsuki's pedestal, 'cause it turns out Honnouji was a hotspot for Goku Uniforms. No, they don’t give you Saiyan powers like I first thought, they’re clothes infused with Life Fibers to super enhance people's physical abilities. So she got her very own.

Wiz: After wandering around the burned down wreckage that was once her home, she stumbled upon a hidden basement where she would meet someone that would aid in her mission. A sentient sailor uniform of all things which Ryuko named Senketsu. Senketsu was no ordinary piece of cloth.

Boomstick: Um, yeah, it's alive and can talk. Doesn't sound very ordinary.

Wiz: *Ahem* Senketsu was a Kamui, a piece of clothing made entirely out of Life Fibers, unlike Goku Uniforms which are only made with a certain percentage of Life Fibers in mind. Now normally a human can only handle a certain percentage of Life Fibers in their uniform before starting to suffer life threatening injury or tremendous strain on the body. Even a mere 50 percent results in the wearer hulking out of control, but Ryuko was oddly immune to the ordinary side effects despite Senketsu being entirely made of Life Fibers.

Boomstick: Once Ryuko stomped her way back to Honnouji, she and Senketsu started kicking ass left, right, and center. When Senketsu drinks some of her blood, he transforms into... probably the single skimpiest outfit I've ever seen. How does that work? It's like that RPG thing where less armor somehow means better stats.

Wiz: After this transformation, Ryuko's physical abilities skyrocket. She becomes much stronger, way tougher, and incredibly fast once Senketsu drinks her blood, made easier with the Seki Tekko, a glove with a needle to feed Senketsu on command, and this increased physical prowess pairs quite nicely with her signature weapon. Isshin didn't make any ordinary comically large pair of scissors, these were the Rending Scissors. Like Senketsu, they too are made entirely out of Life Fibers, however, Isshin found a way to reverse engineer them so much so that they could completely destroy Life Fibers unlike any conventional weapon. Ryuko only had one half of it, but it was more than enough to get her by.

Boomstick: No kidding. Her first outing with Senketsu and her scissor blade had her completely molly-whop the president of the Boxing Club without so much as a scratch, and that was before she even got the hang of what she was doing. She got way more insanely powerful as time went on as well. On her own without Senketsu, Ryuko is already strong enough to swing her scissor blade so hard it slices the tops off of two skyscrapers! Without even touching them! Senketsu also got stronger as well.

Wiz: And this was due to Senketsu's most unique ability. Isshin made him specifically with the ability to absorb other Life Fibers. Once Ryuko cuts a club president's Goku Uniform to ribbons, he would absorb all of the Life Fibers in them, furthering his own abilities over time, and once Ryuko and Senketsu truly bonded, all thanks to her best friend Mako, the two became a formidable pair.

Boomstick: At their best they're no joke. Ryuko's super strong outfit amps up her durability to ridiculous levels. She's endured hits so strong they send people flying without moving an inch, getting slammed through several layers of solid concrete, and being blasted by music so loud that it literally pulverizes the ground. She's able to take a nonstop barrage of attacks and keep on trucking.

Wiz: Her speed and strength are equally as impressive. She could move so fast that she becomes invisible to even the well trained eye and could swing her blade so fast that she simultaneously sliced apart over 200 tennis balls 5 times each in about 2 milliseconds. In order to do so that quickly, she would have to be moving around 7,800 times the speed of sound. That's 350 times faster than lightning! In her inevitable battle against Satsuki, Satsuki also had a Kamui of her very own, and the two of them were trading blows so powerful that just the pressure of their attacks was cratering the concrete walls behind them. Just the intensity of their willpower alone as they approached each other was creating shockwaves around them which sent bystanders flying into the air, and most impressively was with their final clash where they struck each other so hard that the resulting shock created not just an explosion, but an implosion which spanned the entirety of the academy.

Boomstick: That kind of a blast would take close to 180 kilotons of TNT, and if Ryuko and Satsuki were both outputting the same amount of power, that would mean that Ryuko was striking with 90 kilotons! Not just that, but she endured that kind of hit without even moving. Goddamn.

Wiz: This would all lead up to her battle with the Elite Four in the Naturals Election. Eh? Get it? Like "Natural Selection"? ...*Ahem* The final obstacle to officially getting the answers she wanted out of Satsuki, where Senketsu learned two new transformations during their battles. His Senjin form outlines her entire body with spikes, making her nearly impossible to approach, and his Shippu form allows her to shoot through the air like a rocket for more speed and maneuverability. He can even combine both of these forms for the Senjin-Shippu form. Not only this, but he can also shape and manipulate himself in different ways, like cutting a part of himself off into sheets to blind opponents, anchoring Ryuko to the ground with spikes, altering the frequency of their Life Fibers to reflect sound based attacks, or even creating makeshift swords for Ryuko to use. It also helps that Ryuko is surprisingly clever and can form plans on the fly.

Boomstick: Someone got armor that's impervious to attacks and builds power the more it gets hit? Get under the armor and slice them up from the inside. An annoying musician blasting music at you? Reflect that music back at them and send them to kingdom come. A pesky invisible guy making it hard for you to hit him? Attack the entire arena at once.

Wiz: She was so close to her confrontation with Satsuki, with only Sanageyama in her way, her goal was within reach.

Boomstick: Until a surprise interference from an unexpected guest, the murderer of Ryuko's dad, Nui Harime. This demonic little girl stepped in and all hell broke loose.

Wiz: Nui possessed the other half of the Rending Scissors, and once Ryuko saw this, she snapped, forcing Senketsu into a frenzy and turning him into his most dangerous state, the Berserker form. This form drastically increases Ryuko's power at the cost of losing all control and forcing her to continuously spew blood. If she's in this form for too long, she could fall to blood loss and die.

Boomstisk: Luckily, Mako came in clutch and brought them back to normal. With the power of "Hallelujah" and incessant rambling! ...H-hey, hang on. Is that Nui chick leaning on the names on the screen? Can she see those? She's not like Deadpool is she?!

Wiz: Wh- um... I mean, maybe? Although she's never actually acknowledged the 4th wall itself, but that might just be because she's too infatuated with Ryuko and Ragyo. I think we're fine though...

While the two were talking, Nui turned to the camera on the screen in the room. She began getting closer and closer with a creepy smile growing on her face.

Boomstick: Uh, UH! WIZ!

Wiz: On no, OH CRAP!

Wiz quickly whips a remote from out of his pocket and presses the power button, immediately turning the screen off before Nui could get any closer.

Wiz: Uh... hehe. We're fine... hopefully.

Boomstick: Not a fourth one. Please God not a fourth one.

Wiz: Uh, well after these events, Ryuko would soon discover the bigger plot at hand, learning that Ragyo planned to feed the human race to the Life Fibers from the secret organization known as Nudist Beach and that Satsuki was actually plotting against Ragyo this entire time, and so she and Senketsu joined them to aid their efforts.

Boomstick: But when the first plan to stop her flopped and Ryuko got mind controlled, she just up and dug into her skull and tore the Life Fibers controlling her out! What the hell?

Wiz: And this is when she would discover that she was actually imbued with Life Fibers. It turns out that Ragyo's plan had worked and Ryuko had Life Fibers inside of her from day one. It's the whole reason she can bond to Senketsu so well, why she's able to communicate with him in the first place, and from this she discovered her most potent ability. Her healing. The Life Fibers in her give her healing abilities so potent that she can recover from blade attacks before they finish passing through her. This insane regeneration has allowed her to endure digging into her own skull as previously mentioned, having her heart ripped from her chest, and being sliced almost completely in half. It should absolutely be comparable to Ragyo's own healing, who could endure being impaled, crucified, and even decapitated. So long as a single thread connects Ryuko to whatever gets severed, she will be able to recover from it, literally stitching herself back together.

Boomstick: You think that's nuts? How about the time she was wearing Junketsu via having it sewn to the Life Fibers inside her, literally stitched to her skin and nervous system? As in it was literally impossible to take off without killing herself? Well, Ryuko went "Eff that" and just ripped the entire thing off! She just tore off her skin to get rid of it! How is she even alive after that? That is a shit ton of blood she's losing and last I checked nobody has that much blood.

Wiz: Even after that, Ryuko was still able to put Senketsu back on to finally take on Nui, and she did so with practically no effort, taking the Rending Scissors back and slicing off her arms, finally completing her father's weapon. Just like Senketsu, the Rending Scissors also have a few transformations. Decapitation mode greatly increases the length of the blades, but by far the most powerful form is the Alumni mode, which transforms the blades to gargantuan proportions, so big they could easily cleave through the entirety of Honnouji Academy... which was also a giant robot for some reason. This massive size increase would put these blades at weighing over 3 million tons!

Boomstick: Uh, hang on Wiz. If I'm remembering how science works, since nothing is really being added to the Scissor Blades when they get bigger, wouldn't that mean that they would weigh 3 million tons even in their smaller form? Wouldn't that mean that Ryuko was swinging around 1.5 million tons since the very first episode???

Wiz: ...I uh... yeah that would logically be how that works but clearly it isn't, so... um... anime?

Boomstick: Sure. I'll take the easy way out this time.

Wiz: All of this would eventually lead to the plan to finally destroy the origin of all Life Fibers on Earth, the Primordial Life Fiber itself, and the final confrontation with Ragyo, and in the final battle Ryuko and Senketsu assumed their ultimate form. By absorbing all of the remaining Life Fibers from the Goku Uniforms left, Senketsu achieved his final and most powerful transformation. Kisaragi.

Boomstick: In this form, Ryuko becomes more powerful than ever. She becomes so fast that she can rocket into the atmosphere at 500 times the speed of sound, heals so quickly that she can be stabbed dozens of times at once and piece herself back together in just a few seconds, and becomes strong enough to bust a humongous hole in the Life Fibers surrounding the entire planet!

Wiz: Life Fibers have been stated before to be as strong as solid steel, and the massive hole that Ryuko creates is about 1500 miles wide and 200 miles high. To pull this off, Ryuko in her Kisaragi form would have to be outputting nearly 660 exatons of TNT! Enough power to bust the moon almost 5 times over! But for all of this tremendous power, it has some big drawbacks.

Boomstick: All of these transformations run on Senketsu drinking Ryuko's blood, and while she doesn't need to give much for her regular transformations, that Kisaragi form takes way more of it. She can't stay in it for more than a few minutes before she loses too much blood to fight or stay in her super amped state, forcing Senketsu to revert to a regular living sailor uniform.

Wiz: Not to mention that Ryuko's healing is dependent on the Life Fibers in her healing before an attack finishes passing through her, meaning a fast enough opponent should be able to bypass this healing. Her survivability may allow her to survive near decapitation, but only while a single thread connects her head to her body. If there isn't anything connecting her to what was severed, she won't be able to recover from it, and she shares the same massive weakness as Ragyo. If her heart is destroyed, not even she can heal from it and she will die on the spot. Yet even with all of that, in the end Ryuko ultimately defeated Ragyo and saved the world from the Life Fibers, but at the cost of Senketsu, who sacrificed himself to save Ryuko's life as she fell from orbit.

Boomstick: Guh, of course only an anime would get me all choked up over a living sailor uniform.

Wiz: Thanks to their efforts, the world could rest easy knowing the Life Fibers were no longer a concern, while Ryuko could finally stop searching for revenge and settle down for a normal life with her new friends. In the short time that they knew each other, Ryuko and Senketsu truly earned their titles as heroes.

Ryuko could be seen battling Nui while she was wielding both scissor blades on the Nudist Beach's massive ship, clashing against her with blades made from Senketsu before shoving her away.

Ryuko: You assholes just wanna give the planet up to the Life Fibers. You wanna make it so everyone's cut from the same cloth. Guess what? I won't let it happen, 'cause this world's better off with batshit crazy people than it is with you!

Devilman

Wiz: There are many unexplained mysteries in the world. Phenomena and creatures that can only be explained by the supernatural, and we are so fortunate that they are hidden away, for in the unknown shadows, there are monsters. Ogres, vampires, werewolves, and minotaurs, all of them are staples in folklore, yet they all circle back to one creature.

Boomstick: Demons bitches! They're real and hungry for human flesh. Of course, nobody really knows or believes they exist, but two friends would get very familiar with them and eventually reveal them to the world. One was the demon obsessed Ryo, but the other was gonna be one of the most powerful beings on Earth. This was Akira Fudo.

Wiz: Akira was only a child when he met Ryo, who he found washed up by a pier on a remote island resort curled up in a ball. So, he befriended him, and the two were best friends ever since... for a time.

Boomstick: Yeah, goody two shoes Akira was pretty content with how completely devoid of all morals and emotions Ryo was and stayed as his friend, even when he just berated him when a cat he was trying to take care of on his own died, even trying to kill it himself when he thought Akira couldn't save it. He even went so far as to pull a knife on capybaras! What a monster. Only the spawn of Satan would ever try to hurt those peaceful oversized rodents.

Wiz: But Akira never stopped being his friend even after all of that, staying good buds with him many years later. Akira was always a good kid, willing to help his cousin Miki when his parents left him in his aunt and uncle's care for work and crying for others who were grieving, no matter who.

Boomstick: He was a good little bean, but Ryo had plans for him. Bad ones. Ryo was obsessed with demons, or devils as they're called, working with a Russian researcher named Fikira who was trying to observe devils. He even tried to merge with a devil in hopes that he'd gain its powers while remaining in control. Yeah, you can imagine how that went. After Ryo watched him transform before he burned himself alive, he told Akira he decided he was gonna get real footage of them to reveal them to the world and needed his help, so he took him to a party called the Sabbath.

Wiz: In true Christian religion, the Sabbath Day is a day of rest and worship on the seventh day of the week when God rested, though this "event" Ryo took Akira to seems more in line with a Witches' Sabbath, which was a supposed gathering of witches to meet with the Devil. The name isn't entirely for show as the event is apparently where devils appeared most often, taking people's bodies while they indulged their mental and physical desires.

Boomstck: Soooo... drugs and sex?

Wiz: Pretty much. All that was missing to truly summon these devils was bloodshed.

Boomstick: So Ryo got right to it and started cutting people open, and as soon as he did, all hell broke loose. Literally. People started to mutate into giant demons and weird vagina monsters... gross.

Wiz: And when they did, Ryo enacted his true plan. He didn't actually bring Akira for help, but because he wanted to turn him into a devil, and he had just the devil in mind. He called upon the demon Amon and beckoned him to take Akira's body, and he did. In that moment, Akira transformed into one of the most powerful devils of all time. But even after ripping the entire room of devils apart, Akira wasn't entirely overtaken by the devil.

Boomstick: Remember that Fikira guy that tried to gain a devil's powers? Well Akira pulled off just that, gaining the powers and body of a devil but keeping his humanity, turning him into the one and only Devilman! Guess it pays to be an innocent little boy scout, huh?

Wiz: With the powers of the devil Amon, he was a force to be reckoned with. He became unmatched in strength and speed even in his human form, strong enough to rip entire devils in half with ease and run an entire practice track in under 10 seconds. When he decides to fully transform into a devil, that strength and speed is magnified to an absurd degree.

Boomstick: He's got razor sharp claws to tear through just about any devil, wings he can use to fly at high speeds, and the power to create and control fire powerful enough to vaporize whole groups of people or heat up his body to burn a water devil that's inside him alive... also gross.

Wiz: He can erupt massive walls of flames or fire a massive blast from his mouth to scorch whoever may be in his way. In the manga, he's even shown the ability to launch powerful fire attacks as blasts of flames or as high-powered beams from his palms as well. He's displayed a nigh immunity to heat, so much so that he can set himself on fire with no issue, survive an entire house burning around him, and even endure temperatures as hot as lava flowing from a volcano, which can reach around 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Boomstick: He's got a few other nifty tricks as well, like being able to grow and stretch his limbs for better range and more striking power, scream so hard that he can split parts of an island completely apart, and he's also got a healing factor that will help him recover from fatal wounds. But with a new body with super enhanced abilities, he also got some super enhanced... uh, "urges". He became more confident, a lot hungrier, and more... excitable... so he got out and about to try a lot of new things like watching movies, meeting new people, and painting his room... don't read into any of that.

Wiz: Er... right. Well, this and Ryo's strive to understand devils would get him into quite a few scraps with other incredibly powerful demons, like the devils Silene and Kaim, where he endured being electrocuted, having his arm torn off, and getting impaled. His healing factor is so potent that by the time it was morning, he had already recovered from all of his injuries, his arm regrown and the hole in his body closed up.

Boomstick: He even managed to battle Silene while he was... um, hugging h- okay I can't keep this up for the whole rundown. He was f*cking her. He was fighting her while he was f*cking her. Can't make this shit up.

Wiz: *Ahem* As one of the most powerful devils of them all, he should absolutely be capable of feats that other lesser devils have performed as well, like Jinmen, who endured completely severing the top half of his head with zero issues, or another devilman named Koda, who could unleash a blast which created a huge crater in the ground worth 166 tons of tnt.

Boomstick: Pfft, that's nothing. He later battled the way more powerful Xenon and ripped him in half before crashing into a mountain so hard, it kickstarted a volcanic eruption! Which he was at the middle of!

Wiz: To actually do so means that Akira was hitting the volcano with anywhere from 4 to 25 megatons of TNT. Considering it was even a dormant mountain, it’s also possible that he was hitting it with 100 megatons of TNT! That's twice the power of the most powerful nuclear bomb ever made. But even with all of this unbelievable power, he couldn't stop the tragedies that would follow him and the people he knew. As the discovery of demons was made known to humanity, Akira's life quickly spiraled into a living nightmare where he would slowly lose everyone he knew and loved.

Boomstick: Remember that Jinmen devil we mentioned? He possessed Akira's dad and killed his mom, forcing him to kill his dad. His aunt, uncle, and younger cousin Taro? Taro turned into a devil and ate his aunt before Taro and his uncle were shot to death by the military, and he was forced to bury them. And the cherry on top, when Ryo went on national television to hopefully clear up how to fight back against the devils, he completely backstabbed him and told everyone that they needed to kill people before they became demons, that anyone that seemed different in even the smallest way could potentially be a demon, all while framing him for murder and using him transforming into a demon to turn people against each other.

Wiz: But it was no coincidence that Ryo did this. He didn't say this out of ignorance or lunacy, he did this because he was siding with the devils, working alongside the devils, because it turns out that Ryo's true identity was Lucifer himself. Long ago, Lucifer fought against God and was subsequently cast out of heaven as a fallen angel, forced to search throughout the universe before happening upon a primitive Earth, one long before humans existed which was dominated by demons in their earliest forms, dinosaurs.

Boomsticks: Yeah, turns out all dinosaurs are actually demons. Bet you didn't see that one coming.

Wiz: However, God wouldn't let Lucifer or these demons live on Earth, so he wiped them all out, rendering them as shapeless beings of pure will without physical form.

Boomstick: So God made the dinosaurs extinct. That's two things you didn't see coming, heh.

Wiz: Eventually, he was reincarnated by a tribe, merging with the body of one of their children with his memories sealed away. But after years of researching demons, he finally remembered his true identity.

Boomstick: Huh... Ryo being actual Satan explains a lot actually. But Akira tried his hardest to save humanity, trying to stop all of the humans killing humans as best he could with the help of Miki trying to raise awareness online, but unfortunately the power of positive words and good vibes wasn't enough for the horrors that was Twitter. Oh, that and the people Akira tried to save got massacred by demons as well... so there's that.

Wiz: But he wouldn't stop as long as Miki was still alive to help, the last thread of his humanity keeping him going, but even she would eventually be overtaken by the violent massacre. With her gone at the hands of humans, Akira was done, and thus started the final battle. He would gather an army of other devilmen that were moved by his and Miki's final efforts, an army of devils that kept their humanity, to battle against Lucifer and his army of demons as a war broke out between devilmen, demons, and humans.

Boomstick: And this is where Akira used his powers as Devilman to their fullest. He unleashed every ounce of power on that bastard Ryo to stop him... er, her... it. Let's go with "it". To stop it from ending the world. He could endure having his arms and legs blasted off and dart around the atmosphere faster than just about anyone could see. He even decked Ryo in the face so hard that he sent him flying all the way to another continent before closing the distance just as fast!

Wiz: Assuming that the continent that Akira knocked Ryo to is Greenland and the location of this epic blow took place somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean, let's say right in the middle, that means that Akira can cover a distance of 3,000 miles in just around 2 seconds. In order to do this, this means that he can fly at speeds of right around 7,000 times faster than sound! If that isn't crazy enough, he even dodged a moon busting laser from Ryo which covered the distance from Earth to the moon in less than 1 second!

Boomstick: He even hulked up his arm and punched Ryo so hard that he drew blood from him and created a shockwave which parted a gargantuan hole in the ocean! All the way up in the atmosphere! The two were trading blows so powerful they were making explosions that could be seen from space, some of which were damn near planet sized!

Wiz: To actually create an explosion the size of the Earth would mean that Akira could punch with a force of around 160 petatons of tnt! 1,600 times more powerful than the extinction meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs!

Boomstick: Holy hell! Literally! With this immense power and an army of devilmen at his side, he fought against Ryo for the fate of the world, to save the last of the humans and to stop Ryo's demonic invasion, and... lost!? Wait, no, that's not how this is supposed to go. Where's the happy ending where Akira beats the big bad and wins the day? This isn't how it's supposed to end!

Wiz: Unfortunately, try as he might, even the mightiest of demons never stood a chance against actual Satan. No matter how goodhearted Akira's goal was, there was sadly no happy ending. There was no world left to save, no humans left to fight for, all that was left was him and Ryo locked in battle until Ryo landed a decisive blow, ending him for good. But even in his death, Akira still landed a hit that no amount of physical attacks could compare to. As Ryo looked down on the top half of his deceased body, he felt... sadness. Over the course of his life, Ryo never knew the feeling of having emotions. He may have felt fear or something like happiness at some points, but never did he know what sadness was until this point. Without realizing it, he had considered Akira a friend, but only realized this too late after he lost him, the realization washing over him as he wept over Akira's lifeless husk while the world burned around them. Perhaps God's final punishment to Lucifer was the tragedy... of loss.

Boomstick: Guh... *sniff* God better have a nice seat in heaven for Akira and his family. Lord knows he deserves it. He may have called himself Devilman, but that kid was a pure little angel. Now excuse me while I go cry my eyes out and drown my sorrows in beer.

Wiz: ... Yeah, I think I'll join you on that.

Akira could be seen staring down two devils with tears in his eyes as they were eating someone.

Akira: You guys ate him... you killed him!

Akira suddenly transforms as Devilman, letting out an enraged roar.

Devil 1: Amon-!

Devilman quickly slashes the devil's head off, making the second devil back up in shock.

Devil 2: We are all the same devils!

Devilman: You're wrong, I'm not a devil. I'm... Devilman!!!

He yells out before he grabs the devil and rips it apart without mercy.

Prelude

Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set. Let’s end this debate once and for all.

Boomstick: It’s time for a DEATH BATTLE!!!!

Death Battle

In the middle of a city, it was getting close to dark. The sky was a vibrant orange as the sun slowly but surely descended towards the horizon. Almost nobody was around, making the usually noisy and bustling city peaceful and quiet. In one of the stores, Ryuko Matoi walks out wearing Senketsu, carrying her massive scissor blades on her back, eating a lemon she got from said store, looking at the orange sky and seeing it was getting late as she finishes her lemon. Seeing it was getting dark, she takes a step forward to leave, only for something to bolt past her at speeds too fast for her to see, surprising her and making her step back a bit.

Ryuko: What the-?!

She stands on edge, but calms down after a few seconds, trying not to think about it... at least for a moment until the figure flies past her a second time as a blur, startling her again.

Ryuko: Wh- again?! What the hell is that?!

Senketsu: I get the feeling we're about to find out.

Right on cue, the figure races past them a third time, but this time stops on the corner of the building a distance away, letting them see who it was. Standing there was Akira Fudo, who was practicing sprinting by running around the entire block and timing himself. He looks at the timer he was holding to see how much time it took for him to run around the block three times.

Akira: Alright, under fifteen seconds! I wonder if I could get under fourteen next time...

Ryuko: You... you saw that, right?

Senketsu: Yeah, I did. Running around the entire block in just a few seconds like that... almost nobody is that fast... not without Life Fibers.

Ryuko: You don't think...

Senketsu: It's a possibility...

As Ryuko spoke quietly to Senketsu, Akira took notice of the fact that he was being watched, seeing Ryuko looking at him suspiciously. At first he didn't think much of it, just another person shocked at how fast he was, no biggie. But as he got a better look, he saw something strange. He thought he was maybe seeing things, or the distance between them was messing with what he was seeing, but he quickly realized that he wasn't imagining things.

Akira: (Thinking) That girl... is her uniform's eye... moving? Is it alive? There's no way... clothes aren't alive. Could she be a devil? Or maybe she's a devilman like me... or what if that uniform is a devil possessing that girl?

As Akira pondered these thoughts in his head, Senketsu saw that Akira was looking at them oddly, and soon noticed that Akira wasn't just looking at Ryuko, he was specifically looking at Senketsu, right in the eye.

Senketsu: Ryuko... I think he knows.

Ryuko: Wait, really? Like, about you?

Senketsu: I'm positive. He's looking directly in my eye... he knows I'm alive.

Ryuko: Tch, well he figured that out a little too fast for my liking... say no more. Hey you!

Akira is brought out of his thoughts as Ryuko yells out to him, seeing her rushing at him as she takes her huge pair of scissors off her back and jumps into the air as she got close, raising them over her head ready to bring them down on him, making him panic a bit.

Akira: Hey, wait!

Ryuko: Whaddya think you're staring at, huh?!

Senketsu: Ryuko, wait!

She brings her giant scissors down on Akira, making him put his hands up as he quickly catches the blades, the ground cracking beneath them from the force of the strike. Ryuko was as surprised by Akira's strength as he was of hers, but the shock value quickly went away as Akira pushed her back before landing a punch on her gut while she was still midair, sending her flying back several feet. She lands on her feet, clutching her stomach from the force of the punch while Akira winced at his bleeding hands which were cut slightly from catching her scissors by the blades.

Akira: Hey, look, I'm sorry about punching you. I really don't want to fight. Can we please not?

Ryuko: The fight's already started, dumbass! Let's go Senketsu!

Senketsu: Right!

Ryuko pulls the pin on her Seki Tekko, sending a small needle into her arm which feeds her blood to Senketsu, making him hulk out and transform into a massive grotesque figure, spewing blood with huge jagged teeth and a gaping maw which bites down on Ryuko before transforming around her.

Ryuko: Life Fiber Synchronize! Kamui Senketsu!

The transformation finishes, revealing Senketsu to have taken a ridiculously skimpy form of outfit around Ryuko as she takes a stance with her Rending Scissors. Akira was baffled by the scene that just occurred, especially by the end result, but after seeing Senketsu hulk out like that, he came to his conclusion.

Akira: Definitely a devil... guess I have no choice.

Akira hunches over as his body immediately starts to change. His body grew slightly bigger, his skin turned grey, the cuts on his hands quickly healed, his teeth becoming sharp, he grew fur on his lower half as his hands grew claws and his feet became talons, he sprouted large wings and a tail from his back as horns grew from his head and his eyes went completely white, his transformation into Devilman completing as he lets out a roar to the air, completely unrecognizable from how he looked before. Ryuko and Senketsu were both taken by complete surprise by his sudden transformation.

Senketsu: This guy... be careful Ryuko.

Ryuko: I know... this guy's a monster.

Devilman: I'm not a monster... I'm... Devilman!!!

FIGHT!

The two immediately rush at each other in the blink of an eye, closing the gap between them as Ryuko clashes her scissor blades with Devilman's fist, the force of the clash creating a shockwave which knocks them away from each other, cracking the ground and shattering the windows of nearby buildings. Devilman quickly runs back in, trying to slash Ryuko with his claws. Ryuko sees this and narrowly avoids his strike as she ends up behind him, spinning around and swinging her blades at his back. He quickly ducks her attack and turns around to slash up at her, forcing her to hop back to avoid it before she crosses her arms and launches back at him to slash him in an 'x' motion. He manages to grab her blades as she comes in, sliding back a bit before stopping her in her tracks, leaving them in a struggle as a crack forms in the ground between them. Devilman then suddenly stops pushing back, letting Ryuko lurch forward before he drags her around and starts spinning her around in the air, letting go and sending her flying into the side of a nearby building, four stories up.

Ryuko: Ack! This guy's strong.

Senketsu: Try a different approach. See if you can get him from a distance.

Hearing Senketsu's suggestion, Ryuko leaps from the side of the building, raising her blades in the air before slashing down at Devilman, sending a red streak cutting through the air down towards him. He barely has time to dodge as he jumps to the side, just getting out of the way of the projectile as a chunk of the road is carved out where her slash landed. Ryuko, still high in the air, started slashing rapidly, sending a barrage of projectiles at Devilman, forcing him to start running. He ran towards the building Ryuko leapt from, constantly moving out of the way of her slashes as multiple barely grazed him, leaving a few scratches on his body, before he reached the base of the building and started sprinting up the side of it, digging his claws into it as he quickly made his way up. Seeing this, Ryuko turned and swung one of her blades hard, sending a more powerful slash down at him. He was quick to doge it this time, but the building he was on still took the hit, slicing it completely in half as the two halves started to topple over. Devilman quickened his pace as he reached the top of the split building as it was falling over, before he angled himself and jumped at Ryuko as she fell. She launches another slash at him, but he countered by opening his mouth and launching a blast of fire from it, both projectiles hitting each other midair and making an explosion. Ryuko tries squinting to see through the cloud of smoke, but was too late to notice Devilman bursting from it shrouded in flames, launching right at her with his claws aimed right at her before he tackles her out of the air and into the ground.

The dust clears from where they crashed, revealing Ryuko with her back to the ground, Devilman's claws embedded in her midsection as blood seeped from her wounds, making her wince in pain. Devilman wasn't unharmed, however, as he grits his teeth from both of Ryuko's scissors stabbing him through the chest, his orange blood trickling down the blades. He looked down at the blades in his chest, and right as he did, Ryuko headbutt him from the ground, stunning him before she kicks him off her, removing his claws from her midsection and her blades from his chest. She got up and quickly rushed in while he was vulnerable, slashing him multiple times before uppercutting him with the hilt of one of her blades, sending him airborne before she spins around and launches a slash at him, hitting him dead on as he's launched backwards into the shadow of the crumbling building as it loomed over him. He notices the shadow cast over him and turns around as the building gets close to landing on him.

Right as the half of the building is about to crush him, Devilman holds his arms up and catches the falling building with some strain, the force embedding his feet into the cement beneath him. He grunts as he holds it up, his claws digging into the concrete of the building before he chucks the half down the street towards Ryuko. Undeterred, Ryuko rushes towards the giant projectile and slashes the whole thing in two once more, the two pieces skidding past her, scraping across the ground and the sides of nearby buildings, kicking up some dust. Ryuko looks on at Devilman from down the street and starts slashing at him from a distance again, sending several red cutting projectiles flying at him for him to dodge. He rushed forward, dodging and running by the slashes, bolting around as best he could, trying to reach her, but he couldn't stop himself from getting nicked a few times, making him lose his composure as Ryuko's slashes started hitting him more and more, sending him back as he was getting overwhelmed. He took a knee as his orange blood was splattering onto the ground with every hit, clawing the ground as he tried to hold his position. He then grits his teeth as his body started to steam, his temperature rising as his chest started glowing. He suddenly stood up despite the constant bombardment and opened his mouth, the orange glow of fire emitting from it as he then unleashed a massive torrent of flames which took up the entire street at Ryuko.

Devilman: Burn!!!

Ryuko's and Senketsu's eyes widened as the tsunami of fire came roaring at them, but Ryuko was quick to act as bright flashes started appearing around her body.

Ryuko: "Senketsu: Shippu!!!"

In an instant, Senketsu's form completely changed around her. The shoulder blades extended and sharpened, and the skirt also extended to cover her legs completely into what looked like thrusters. As soon as the fire neared them, red flames burst from the legs Senketsu, launching Ryuko over the attack and into the air, shooting off like a jet and soaring over Devilman. Undeterred but a bit surprised, he took off sprinting after her, his body lurching far forward and his arms outstretching far in front of him, running in an almost animalistic way. Ryuko would turn midair and launch more slashes down at him while Devilman would send more fiery projectiles up at her while he gave chase. After a bit more chasing, Devilman sprinted up the side of a building and leapt up at her once again, but she was prepared and dodged out of the way, making him miss as he shoots into the air higher than her, only for him to spread his wings and launch back at her, catching her by surprise and tackling her through the air, crashing into a nearby building.

They crash through the walls and tumble inside as Ryuko kicks Devilman off her, but he quickly recovers and lunges at her, going for a slash as he misses from Ryuko ducking beneath the attack and slicing at his side in a split second, drawing more orange blood as Devilman clutched his side. Ryuko ends up behind him, turning around and striking forward with her scissor blades, aiming for his back right as he turned around and stopped clutching his wound, catching the blades in his hands as he gets pushed back to the glass pane at the edge of the building. He digs his claws into the ground to stop himself, but it only slowed him down a little as he gets pinned against the glass, which slowly starts to crack as more force is applied. Once again, Devilman opened his mouth, ready to blast Ryuko in the face with fire, but she was ready for it, suddenly yanking her blades from his hands, drawing more blood as she flipped them to uppercut him with the grips of the blades, forcibly shutting his mouth before he could spit more fire at her. While he's dazed, Ryuko spins around to slice at his head, but he snapped out of it and quickly ducked, just barely avoiding it as a piece of one of his horns gets sliced off. He shot his palms forward, aiming at Ryuko's midsection as he immediately unleashed powerful beams of fire from both of his hands, sending her flying back and launching her out of the building.

She smashes through the concrete wall of the building, flying back through the air and crashing through three more buildings before finally stopping at a fourth, cracking the wall she hits and shattering the windows surrounding it. She recovered from the hit, shaking off the lingering smoke and fire on her body before rocketing back through the buildings she crashed through. Devilman also leapt out of the hole in the building he was in, flying at Ryuko as well as they clash with enough force to crumble several surrounding buildings. Devilman landed on the ground dazed, looking through the rubble and dust for Ryuko, who was nowhere to be seen. Little did he know, Ryuko snuck up behind him after hiding in the dust, leaping at him and landing a brutal slash on his back, making him roar in pain and turn to slash at Ryuko. She ducked the attack and ran back into the dust cloud surrounding them before he could follow, making him lose sight of her as she dashed around, slashing at him multiple times while he couldn't see her.

Devilman: Graaaah!!! Stop hiding!!!

With a deafening sound and a blast of force, the dust cloud immediately parts from the sheer power of Devilman's yell, forcing Ryuko to cover her ears in pain as Devilman has clear sight of her once again. He rushes over to her right as she recovers, swiping at her legs to trip her up before slamming his fists down onto her hard enough to make her bounce back up off the ground, allowing him to uppercut her back and send her rocketing up into the side of a building, ending up on the roof as she smashes through it from below. She corrects herself and stabs her blades into the ground, stopping her from sliding any further on the roof. She didn't get any time to rest, however, as Devilman bursts from the rooftop of the building, ending up behind her. She was quick to react, spinning around to swing her scissors at her, but he caught them in his hands, ripping them away from her and throwing them over the edge of the building. Having disarmed her, he lands a punch to her jaw, forcibly spinning her around as he grabs her from behind, lifting her up in a tight bear hug. Ryuko tried slamming the back of her head into Devilman's face, but he wouldn't let go, his body temperature rising at an alarming rate as steam started to emanate from him, before his body burst into flames, engulfing him and Ryuko. She grits her teeth in pain from the feeling of her skin searing against Devilman's body, struggling to break free as she started to burn more and more.

Ryuko: Hraaaagh! "Senketsu: Senjin!!!"

With another flash of light, Senketsu once again takes a different shape around Ryuko, this time with spikes coming out of nearly every part of her outfit which spun around her like sawblades. She makes the spikes spin fast as they cut into Devilman's body violently, making him yell in pain as orange blood gets sent flying around the rooftop before he finally let go, dropping Ryuko to the ground and allowing her to spin around and kick him back, sending him skidding to the edge of the rooftop as the cuts and gashes on his body slowly healed. Several long red claws protruded from on top of Ryuko's hands, which she rushed at Devilman with, to which he responded by running at her with his own claws readied in kind. They both slash at each other, a sharp sound resonating through the air as they skid past each other. Devilman turned and jumped into the air, intent on slamming his fists down on Ryuko, who dodged to the side and avoided the slam, letting her stab her claws into one of Devilman's arms. He retaliated by grabbing her head with his other arm, pulling her into the air and slamming her onto the ground before spinning and throwing her over the edge of the roof. As she went over the edge, some of the spikes along the skirt of Senketsu fired off with strings attached to them, stabbing into the side of the building and pulling Ryuko back. She lands on the side of the building and jumps all the way back up to the top right as Devilman looks over the side, barely giving him time to react as Ryuko sliced up at his head with her claws, which he just barely avoided as they grazed his jaw. As Ryuko zooms past the edge of the roof into the air, another spike fires from her dress, embedding itself into Devilman's chest and pulling her down towards him, yanking him forward and staggering him before Ryuko stabs her claws into his chest as well. Devilman grits his teeth, but stands unwavering as he raises his arms and slams his fists down on Ryuko's hands, breaking her claws which are left stabbed in his chest before he raises his leg and kicks forward, grabbing Ryuko by the neck with his talon and flying over the edge of the roof, flipping around and throwing Ryuko straight down into the ground at high speeds, creating a small crater.

Ryuko gets up, clutching her head in pain and feeling her blood coming from it. She looks up and sees Devilman flying straight down at her, prompting her to leap out of the way as he crashes into the ground hard enough to send several surrounding cars a few feet into the air. He gets up and pulls the broken claws out of his chest before his chest starts glowing orange again, his body catching fire even more than before as he unleashes a torrent of flame from his mouth towards Ryuko. Ryuko starts sprinting out of the way of the wave of fire, avoiding it as Devilman turns his head to try and hit Ryuko with the fire. It catches up to her, forcing her to slide underneath it as it passes over her, before she gets back up and rushes at him.

Ryuko: Senketsu, remember when we fought Satsuki while she had a piece of you with her?

Senketsu: I already know where this is going.

As she ran at Devilman, two swords spring out from the sleeves of Senketsu. Devilman stops his fire breath as she does and sees that she has new weapons again.

Devilman: Just how many weapons can you make?

Devilman bares his claws and runs at her, the two slashing past each other before turning around and swinging at each other wildly, lighting up the air with sparks and littering the ground with gashes. Ryuko's makeshift swords weren't quite cutting it as Devilman's claws were slowly chipping away at the edges, dulling them more and more with each clash. She manages to break away for a moment as she starts to spin like a top, moving towards Devilman as her swords and the spikes along her dress scrape against his arms which he's forced to block with. He gets pushed back as his arms become more and more wounded before Ryuko forces him back with one big push as she stops spinning. Devilman holds his palms out as they start to glow, launching beams of fire from them at Ryuko, forcing her to start dodging and weaving around them as she tried getting closer. She got grazed a few times, but eventually got close enough to attack again. However, Devilman was ready for it and stopped firing from one hand, using it to catch one of Ryuko's blades and swing her around before slamming her against the ground, repeating this four more times until Ryuko fired a few spikes from her skirt into Devilman's body. After hitting the ground again, she stabs the swords on her other arm into the ground, twisting her body around and dragging Devilman around in the air until the spikes stabbed into him get torn out, throwing him several meters away and forcing him to correct himself with his wings before hitting the ground roughly.

Senketsu: Ryuko, I see your scissor blades! Behind you!

She looks behind her, searching for a few seconds before spotting her scissor blades embedded in the hood of a car. She didn't get much time to focus on them though as she turns back around just in time to see Devilman rushing at her, forcing her to start fighting back again. They both slash and cut each other, littering the ground with small blood splatters as they subject each other to lacerations as they do their best to avoid their wild swings and land their own, until Ryuko manages to trip him up with a sudden sweep, staggering him and allowing her to go for a wide swing to his head. He instinctively puts his arm up, blocking the strike as the blade digs into his arm a bit before the sword broke against him. However, that's exactly what Ryuko intended as the broken portion of her blade started to spew blood, which got in Devilman's eyes and blinded him, making him flinch in pain as Ryuko punched him in the face before turning and rushing for the Rending Scissors. Devilman recovers and tries rubbing the blood out of his eyes to little effect, so instead he lights himself ablaze and incinerates the blood on his face, letting him see again right as Ryuko reaches her scissors and pulls them out of the smoking car hood. She wastes no time and swung them around full force, launching a huge sharp projectile his way, making him jump over it into the air as it tears through multiple city-blocks and cuts down dozens of buildings. His eyes widen for a moment seeing the powerful attack before he outstretches his wings to hang in the air and unleash a barrage of fireballs and explosions from his hands and mouth. Ryuko takes a stance and starts spinning around again, fast enough to start creating a whirlwind around her fast enough to redirect the blasts of fire and send them scattered around her, setting the street they were in on fire. She slashes at him in the air multiple times, making him fly around to avoid them as the powerful projectiles part the clouds in the sky. She gets an irritated expression as he was proving to be elusive, struggling to hit him all the way up in the air as he flew around and launched more fire blasts at her. Eventually she grew tired of aimlessly slicing at him from a distance like trying to slap a moth out of the air, so she jumped straight up into the air as more flashes of light shone around her.

Ryuko: "Senketsu: Senjin Shippu!!!"

Senketsu once again changes form around her, taking the shape of his Shippu form but covered head to toe in spikes and blades like in his Senjin form. She blasts off into the air headed straight for Devilman, connecting her blades together to make a large pair of scissors which she held out in front of her ready to cut him in half. He sees her coming at high speeds and holds his hands out, catching her scissors by the blades and stopping her from closing them around his body, though the force of her careening into him causes him to get pushed back through the air as she pushed against him, trying to overpower him. Eventually Devilman suddenly leans back and lets go of her scissors, letting her close them as the blades narrowly miss his face before he kicks her in the jaw, forcing her to let go of her weapons as she gets sent upward, but she rebounds quickly, correcting herself midair and flying back down, ramming her head straight into his, making him hiss in pain as she grabs her scissors back from him and kicks him away. He uses his momentum to fly back around, building up speed and reeling his fist back as Ryuko sees this, splitting her scissors back into two swords and blazing towards him in kind, flipping her blades around and getting ready to smash the hilts into him. The two collide with each other, their clash creating a shockwave powerful enough to topple several buildings even though they were almost at cloud level. Devilman grabs her with his other arm and rips her around, throwing her down towards the ground hard only for Ryuko to unexpectedly throw one of her scissor blades at him, embedding it in his chest as he goes to pull it out with grit teeth, failing to notice the thread that was attached to it connected all the way to Senketsu.

Ryuko: C'mere!!!

Ryuko yanks on the thread as she falls, stopping her in her tracks by using Devilman as a leverage, causing Devilman to get pulled down towards her by the sword stuck in his chest. Ryuko watches him coming in, at the ready with her other scissor blade, thrusting forward and stabbing him in the chest once again, making him yell out in pain. He tries to pry himself away, but several spikes from Senketsu stab into his body, anchoring into him as Ryuko let go of her swords and made several claws, rapidly stabbing and slashing his torso, spewing orange blood everywhere as Devilman punched and clawed at her desperately.

Devilman: GRAAAAAH!!! GET OFF ME!!!

Devilman thrashed and spun around as they were in the air, using his wings to fly around sporadically to try to throw her off, but Ryuko retaliates by trying to rocket around, flames bursting from Senketsu's leggings as the opposing forces made them spiral throughout the air every which way, crashing through buildings, dragging along the ground, pinballing around out of control as Ryuko just kept on slashing and slashing, several of Senketsu's spikes coming loose from Devilman's body. Eventually enough spikes pull out of him to gain some control again, shoving her back hard and forcibly pulling all of the spikes from him and the scissor blade with a thread attaching to it connecting to Senketsu, before grabbing her arm and dragging her back in, uppercutting her in the gut and sending her up in the air with him in quick pursuit, grabbing her as they reach cloud level as he starts punching her in the face while they start falling back to the ground. Ryuko blocks a punch with her arm and headbutts him, turning themselves over and grabbing her other scissor blade from his chest, tearing it out as she raises it to stab into Devilman's face, but he catches her arm, stopping it from moving any further as he tries clawing at her abdomen, however she does the same and catches his arm, leaving them in a struggle as they started spinning rapidly, pummeling towards the ground before crashing into the streets below with a thunderous crash, sending several cars flying and creating a massive dust cloud.

Devilman slowly got back up off the broken concrete, his vision slightly hazy as he looked down at his brutalized torso, visceral gashes and lacerations pouring with blood that were slowly but surely healing, his vision also coming back in the process as he looked around in the dust cloud he was in, searching for Ryuko, though she was nowhere in sight. He lets himself recover, keeping on guard as he notices a figure moving around in the dust and smoke. Now on edge, he starts charging fire in his mouth, ready to blast her the second he sees her. He hears a scraping sound coming from behind him, making him turn to the noise and fire a torrent of flame at whatever made it. When the fire cleared though, all he saw was one of Ryuko's blades on the ground, with a thread attached to it. He had been tricked. Using the blade as a diversion, Ryuko rushed in from behind, Senketsu now back in his normal form.

Senketsu: Now Ryuko!

Ryuko: Let's do this!

Ryuko and Senketsu: "Scissor Blade: Decapitation Mode!!!"

The hilt of her sword flips out as she grips it with both hands, and the blade extends to become even longer, lunging at Devilman at full speed, reeling back ready to cut him down.

Ryuko: SEN-I-SOSHITSU!!!

She slashes at him at full force while he wasn't looking, intent on ending it right then and there, but as her sword connected, it stopped dead. It didn't even budge, not one inch...

...because Devilman turned and caught it in his teeth. He looks at Ryuko as she stares on surprised, trying to pull her sword from his teeth to no effect. His expression contorts into a wicked grin as he grabs Ryuko's arm with one hand, holding her in place as he lets go of her sword and reels back his other arm, his fist shaking as he readied a full force punch.

Ryuko: Ah shi-

She doesn't get to finish speaking before Devilman drove his fist into her torso with an earth shattering punch, the force of the attack rattling every bone in her body and sending her careening through the city, her other sword connected by a thread being dragged with her as she was launched miles away in the blink of an eye, the sheer force of the punch plowing down several city blocks like they were made of paper, before Ryuko crashes into the side of a distant mountain, smashing through it with so much force she causes it to erupt in a gargantuan explosion of magma and fire, all while she and Senketsu were at the center of it all.

Devilman looks on from afar, panting and heaving as the scars and wounds he had slowly patched themselves up, taking in the mass destruction all around him as cinders started to descend upon the city and a shadow cast over it all as the smoke pluming from the now erupted volcano blocked out the sun. Right before he could regret the destruction the two caused, a crack formed in the sky above the mountain. And then another. And another. Devilman saw as cracks in reality itself started appearing out of nowhere before they all split open, making multiple holes into other dimensions. From them, hundreds of strands of Life Fibers started to funnel from them all, converging onto one singular point.

Right at the center of the volcano.

In the middle of all the fire and lava, Ryuko stood there, miraculously alive as the Life Fibers started flowing into Senketsu, flashes of rainbow stars appearing all around the two as they both started to transform. Senketsu started taking on a bright red hue with yellow highlights, his shoulder blades growing larger as the right shoulder blade cracked open to reveal his second eye and several bright yellow pieces of Life Fiber cloth floated around Ryuko to resemble Senketsu's mouth, while Ryuko's hair started to flare up and glow gold as opposed to her usual black hair. The transformation finishes, a blinding rainbow light shining behind the two as the sheer pressure of the transformation alone pushed apart all of the fire, lava and smoke surrounding them, making Devilman cover his eyes.

Ryuko: "Senketsu: KISARAGI!!!"

Ryuko shouts out as she hovered in the air, wielding both her scissor blades and glaring right at Devilman from afar. He stared on in shock from what he just witnessed, but he wouldn't get much time to react as the second he blinks, Ryuko suddenly appeared before him at blinding speeds, spinning one of her blades around and lightly tapping his chest with the hilt before he could realize what's happening, sending him flying backwards with a surprising amount of force, that one tap hitting harder than any hit she landed throughout the whole fight. Now out of his state of shock, he digs his claws into the concrete, trying to slow himself down as he plowed through several city blocks, eventually scraping to a halt before launching himself forward, blitzing towards her with his arm raised as he covered the distance he was flung in just a second, but she didn't bother moving as Devilman slammed his fist into Ryuko hard enough to pulverize the entire city block around them... to no effect as she didn't even flinch from the attack. Before he knew it, Ryuko appeared behind him, slamming the hilt of her blades into the side of Devilman's head, sending him flying off to the side as she followed suit, intercepting him and headbutting him into the ground hard enough to embed him almost a mile underground. As he tunnels underground, he starts unleashing a monstrous amount of fire which reached all the way back up to the surface, causing the ground to glow and break apart before it all erupted with Devilman breaking through the surface, only for Ryuko to appear behind him once again, stabbing him from behind with her scissor blades. He hacks up blood and looks down to see the blades protruding from his chest, looking behind him to see Ryuko, completely unfazed by the blast. He grits his teeth and starts unleashing more fire from his body, burning everything in all directions, but once again Ryuko doesn't even react as she swings her blades around and throws Devilman off into the air.

Devilman manages to correct himself midair and looks back down at the massive flaming crater in the city, but sees Ryuko rocketing up towards him with her arms crossed. She reaches him immediately and goes to decapitate him, but Devilman barely leans back far enough to avoid the attack before kicking her in the stomach and flying away, trying to gain some distance.

Senketsu: You have him on the run! Don't let up!

Ryuko: Like you needed to tell me that!

Ryuko smirks and starts flying after Devilman, knowing she has the advantage over him. She starts catching up easily as Devilman turns around and holds his palms out, firing a powerful beam of fire at her, but she effortlessly barrels through it and punches him in the ribs, shattering a few of them as he gets launched back again, using the momentum he gained to continue flying away while Ryuko continues to pursue him. He flies around every which way, trying to outmaneuver her around the buildings and rubble in the city, but no matter how fast he flew or how sharp he turned, Ryuko stayed hot on his tail, catching up and knocking him around multiple times. He tries throwing several fireballs from his hands at her, all of which were dodged or just flat out tanked as Ryuko started closing the gap between them once again, reeling her arm back as Devilman reeled back his own in kind, knowing he wouldn't be able to get out of the way in time. The two clashed fists, creating a blast of force which annihilated a good chunk of the remaining city, with Ryuko easily overpowering Devilman as he gets sent soaring through the air with a bloody and broken fist. He regains himself and stops himself midair, trying to recuperate as his vision was starting to get hazy, but the second he did, Ryuko blitzed past him, delivering a brutal slash to his abdomen. He hacked up some more blood as he didn't even get the time to recover before Ryuko deliverd another slash to his back, then to his side, and then to his chest. She was slicing him up from every possible angle, creating deep gashes on almost every part of him before kicking him in the jaw from below, sending him high into the air. Seeing him suspended in the air, Ryuko raises her scissor blades, slowly bringing them together, connecting them into one huge pair of scissors and started flying up towards Devilman, opening up the scissors before closing them, sending a powerful projectile up at him. Devilman barely turns himself midair enough to see her attack coming at him, putting his right arm out in front of him to block it, but it amounted to nothing as the projectile easily cleaved through his arm and tore through his torso vertically, cutting his arm off and cutting through his body as the force of the attack finally caught up, launching him and his arm straight into the sky at high speeds.

Ryuko watches as Devilman's limp bloody body was sent soaring into the sky before disappearing behind the clouds, disconnecting her scissors back into two blades, thinking it was over. With Devilman, he helplessly flies higher and higher into the atmosphere, too weak to stop himself as the color of the sky slowly vanished, revealing the deep dark vastness of space as he slowly comes to a stop. He feels his eyelids getting heavy, ready to close them and give up, only for a light to shine in his eyes. He weakly raises his head, seeing the orange glow of the setting sun cresting the curve of the Earth, witnessing everything his fleeting vision could, and it stirs something in him. Seeing his detached arm floating next to him, he grits his teeth and takes a sharp breath, his body billowing with steam as he feels a second wind come in.

Devilman: Not... like this!

Not willing to die just yet, he grabs his severed arm and slams it onto the bloody stump where it used to be, feeling a shock of pain shoot through his body as he painfully reattaches his arm, the huge gash in his body bursting into flames as the wound cauterizes and heals as well. Letting out a roar, he angles himself downward and outstretches his wings before flapping them once and sending himself rocketing down back towards the Earth, his body catching fire in the atmosphere like a meteor, screaming as he spots Ryuko as he comes down. Senketsu hears the screaming and spots the glowing object falling from the sky, quickly realizing it was Devilman coming right at them.

Senketsu: Ryuko, look!

Ryuko looks up to what Senketsu was looking at, surprised to see Devilman still alive, but quickly shakes it off as she readies her scissor blades.

Ryuko: Oh, you've gotta be kidding me!

She starts flying up at Devilman, Ryuko poised to swing her blades and Devilman reeling his arm back for a punch as they closed the distance between them.

Devilman: GRRAAAAAAAHHH!!!

Ryuko: BRING IT ON YOU BASTARD!!!

The two clash in an absolutely colossal impact, the force of this one conflict creating a blast which rent the remains of the city asunder. The two eventually push each other back with some struggle, with Ryuko surprised by the sudden strength Devilman struck with which didn't match what she was facing moments ago. Yet still undeterred, she launched herself back into the fray, quickly approaching Devilman and slashing him across the chest, sending him back even further. But Devilman quickly rebounds, shaking off the hit and soaring back in with his fist clenched, striking Ryuko across the face with the force to rattle every bone in her body, sending her flying in return before he starts chasing after her. She stops herself midair and flies back in, colliding her blades with Devilman's fist, knocking them back a bit before they collide again, and again, and again, until the two start trading blows rapidly. The two slash, kick, claw, and punch at each other in an unrelenting onslaught until Devilman grabs Ryuko's leg with a talon, spinning around and throwing her down towards the ground before launching a massive wave of fire at her. She stops herself and looks up at the massive fire attack, swinging one of her scissor blades at it which splits the flames in two, right as Devilman comes flying down at her. She dodges a slash from his claws before delivering a kick up to his jaw, sending him skyward, but he uses his wings to carry his momentum and fly back around to her at high speeds before full body tackling her through the air towards the erupted volcano. She slams the hilt of her scissor blades down on his back, forcing him to let go as he gets knocked down into the ground while Ryuko crashes into the side of the volcano. Devilman gets back up and starts running, quickly approaching the volcano as Ryuko pulls herself from the smashed rocks and lava she crashed in, spotting Devilman approaching. She pushes herself from the volcano side, jumping into the air and turning her body sideways, holding her scissors together as she starts spinning down towards Devilman rapidly, being returned with Devilman lunging up towards Ryuko in the air, his arm hulking up to three times its normal size before the two attacks collide, creating an explosion that practically vaporizes the volcano entirely, leaving a molten hole in the Earth spewing lava every which way.

Devilman and Ryuko once again get knocked back, but they both catch themselves midair before Devilman flew high into the sky, his body glowing as he opened his mouth, charging up for a blast of fire as Ryuko hovered over the magma filled hole in the ground where the volcano used to be. Devilman then unleashed a titanic wave of fire from his mouth down at Ryuko, who was forced to put her blades in front of her for defense as the flames engulfed practically everything, destroying whatever was in sight as the land was transformed into a flaming hellscape. Despite this, Ryuko resisted the blast, gritting her teeth as Senketsu took the shape akin to a rocket before rocketing up the stream of fire, powering through the center of the attack with a yell and reattaching her blades together, angling her scissors to stab Devilman. She eventually reached the end of Devilman's flames, stabbing her scissors through his chest as the two skyrocketed high into the atmosphere. Devilman looked at Ryuko forcing him up into the sky, baring his teeth and not caring for the scissors in his chest as he starts punching her in the face relentlessly. She powered through the punches though, forcing them higher and higher until the darkness of space was in view, breaching the planet's atmosphere before Devilman had enough and stabbed his hands through Ryuko's midsection, making her cough up blood before kicking her away, pulling his claws from Ryuko while she pulled her scissors from Devilman.

The two healed from their wounds quickly as they floated a good distance away from each other, glaring at each other while the sun shone upon them from the side. After looking on at each other for a few more moments, they fly at each other, clashing as they began to dart around the atmosphere too fast to be seen, shockwaves and explosions riddling the space around them rapidly. Devilman flies around dodging several projectiles launched at him before moving in and punching Ryuko, sending her flying back as she launches another slash at him, which he is forced to block with his arms. The two fly around each other and move in to clash repeatedly, striking fist to scissors, talon to foot, and head-to-head over and over again. Ryuko goes in for a wide swing with her scissors, but Devilman caught it in his teeth as he readied a fire ball in his hand. Ryuko couldn't pry her weapon away from him, so she split into two once again, letting one of the blades free as she spun around and slashed his side, forcing him to let go of the other half of her scissors as he gets flung away, but as he does, he spins around and throws the fire ball at Ryuko, hitting her face as it blows up and sends her spinning backwards. She catches herself and shakes it off before flying back in, slicing through more fire balls thrown at her and slamming the hilts of her blades into Devilman's skull, the sheer force of the resulting shockwave pushing apart the ocean itself despite being so high above it, dazing him and giving her the chance to slash into him rapidly. But in the middle of her assault, Devilman grabbed her arms, stopping her from slicing him and slams his head into hers, making her reel back as he lets go and delivers a brutal punch across her face, also creating a titanic hole in the ocean from the shockwave and making blood fly from her mouth. They could both feel themselves growing weaker the more hits they took and the more blood they lost.

Senketsu: Ryuko, you're losing too much blood. We can't keep this up for much longer.

Ryuko: Yeah... I'm starting to feel that...

Senketsu: We have to finish this quickly.

At this, small flashes of rainbow stars start sparking around Ryuko's body.

Ryuko: So just... go all out, huh?

Devilman: (Thinking) Getting harder... to keep my eyes open. Dunno how much longer... I can stay transformed.

While he speaks in his head, Devilman's body starts heating up hotter and hotter, steam and embers coming from his body.

Devilman: (Thinking) Gotta... end this fast.

They both steeled themselves, adrenaline spiking as their eyes widened, gritting their teeth while their hearts pounded in their chests.

Ryuko: Alright then...

Devilman: Screw it!

Ryuko's body suddenly engulfs in a blinding light, rainbow stars flashing around her while Devilman's body starts unleashing a powerful aura of fire, both of them deciding to give it their all.

Ryuko/Devilman: NO MORE HOLDING BACK!!!

As if their earlier fighting wasn't fast enough already, now they went ballistic, bolting in and striking each other so fast and so rapidly it almost looked like they were in multiple places at once. Their fighting took them all around the atmosphere, not even bothering to be careful anymore as they focused solely on putting the other down. Devilman came flying in headfirst, earning a kick to the jaw from Ryuko that sent him rocketing upwards, but he immediately stops himself and barrels back down into her, slamming his fists down on her and sending her careening into the ocean, the resulting crash forcing up the water in a massive splash that reached into space and making massive tidal waves that blanketed the continents. From the water came hundreds of red slashing projectiles from Ryuko, with Devilman throwing caution to the wind as he flew down, tanking each one that hit him before Ryuko launched out of the ocean straight at him in kind, the two striking each other in the face and sending each other back again. They both stop themselves and race to each other again, but Ryuko narrowly evaded Devilman's punch, flying behind him and grabbing one of his wings, spinning him around quickly and throwing him down into the planet before chasing after him. Devilman crashes into the frozen arctic tundra, digging his claws into the ice to slow himself down as he skids across the ground, carving out a huge ditch in the ice as his mere presence melts the ice around him. When he finally stops, he looks up and sees Ryuko flying down at him with her blades raised. When she reaches him, she brings her scissor blades down onto him, forcing him to catch the blades in his hands, struggling for a few seconds before forcing them to the side and moving out of the way, making her strike the ground and slicing a huge gash into the ice, making a titanic chunk of the continent jut upwards from where she struck. Acting quickly, Devilman immediately lurches forward after dodging, hitting Ryuko with a powerful uppercut that sent her ripping through the chunk of the continent that was just uprooted and shattering the ice all around them for miles before Devilman starts chasing her into space.

Ryuko flew far out of the atmosphere before eventually stopping herself, flying back from where she came from as Devilman quickly closes in. Ryuko flips her scissor blades so she held the hilts out first, reeling her arms back as Devilman comes in with a powerful punch readied. The two strike with unbridled might, creating a titanic blast in the vacuum of space which sent them hurling back. Undeterred, the two fly back at each other, striking each other rapidly before Devilman slashed Ryuko in the chest which healed quickly, while Ryuko slashed at his head, nailing his other horn and cutting off a small chunk of it. Both of them launch back from their traded blows and immediately move back in with grit teeth, striking each other again and making another blast of force. They both get flung back again, but Ryuko was quicker to recover as she rockets back in, catching up to him and slashing Devilman across the chest, sending him back even further. He shakes it off and flies back in to attack Ryuko again, following another rapid series of strikes between both of them which results in Devilman winning out, catching Ryuko's arm during one of her attacks and driving his fist into her gut, knocking the air out of her before yanking her in and slamming his head into hers. She flies back from the headbutt and Devilman throws two fireballs to chase her down, exploding as they hit her and sending her spinning through the vacuum of space. As she stops herself, in the blink of an eye she swung her blades dozens of times, launching a barrage of cutting projectiles down at Devilman, who starts pelting more fireballs at her in response. Many of the projectiles hit each other, making multiple explosions as the attacks that don't clash force Ryuko and Devilman to dodge before they fly in, catching up to their own attacks and meeting in the center of them all as they both start beating the tar out of each other until all of the projectiles hit, creating a cluster of small explosions that disorients both of them and forces them away.

Ryuko shakes it off and closes the gap between them, decking Devilman in the mouth before he could recover, sending him flying back and knocking out some teeth. She doesn't let up and chases him down, striking him again and again, giving him no breathing room as he gets bombarded with attacks that sends him further and further back. Eventually Ryuko preps her blades to impale him, lunching forward as Devilman held a hand out in front of him, letting his palm get stabbed as he bore through the pain and punched Ryuko across the face. However, she doesn't relent and rips her blades from Devilman's hand, spinning around and striking him across the face as well. Devilman returns with a knee to her gut, receiving a double punch to the gut from Ryuko, who is met with an overhead slam to her head from him, spinning her upside-down and letting her kick him in the jaw. Each attack sends more and more of their blood floating off into space, not letting fatigue or exhaustion get to them as they forced themselves to persist, too stubborn and too angry to let themselves die. Eventually, the injuries Devilman was sustaining were getting to him, his healing not nearly as fast acting as Ryuko's as she didn't have a single lasting wound on her, resulting in her winning out as she sends him spinning with a punch. As he spun back, Ryuko quickly put her blades together to form her scissors, opening them up to cut him in half. Devilman saw and tried to get away, but wasn't fast enough as Ryuko's Rending Scissors got his right leg, cutting it off at the knee completely. He roars in pain as orange blood spewed from the stump half his leg used to be, getting batted away towards Earth right after by Ryuko kicking him to the side.

Ryuko: Alright, we got him good!

Senketsu: Press your advantage, don't let up!

Ryuko goes in to continue her assault as Devilman stops himself and looks down at his missing leg. He hisses in pain as his body started charging up with even more fire, before he yells out in rage.

Devilman: DAMMIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!!

He screams as heat and flames blast from his body in all directions with a blinding light, the fire cauterizing all of his wounds instantly as he holds out his palms and blasts two powerful beams of fire at Ryuko. She darts around the beams as Devilman tries shifting his aim to hit her, narrowly maneuvering around them as she quickly approaches. As she got closer, when it became too difficult to dodge Devilman's beams of fire from getting to close, she splits her scissors and slashes down at him in an 'x' motion, launching a powerful 'x' shaped projectile which cuts through both beams. Devilman sees it and stops firing, narrowly getting over the attack as it flies past him, looking back up at Ryuko who had an opening now that he wasn't firing at her, so he clenches his fists tightly and launches himself at her.

With all their might, the two strike each other full force, making titanic planet sized red and purple explosions respectively. After getting pushed back, they fly back in and crash into each other again and again, their attacks making blasts bigger than the Earth itself. Restraint was nonexistent as their clashes lights up the whole planet. No matter how far they flew or how hard they were hit, they simply barreled right back at each other. They felt themselves growing weaker each time they struck, but kept ignoring it despite it all. As the two kept going all out, it was apparent that Ryuko was slowly taking the reins. Devilman's body wasn't recovering fast enough to keep up with the fight, while whatever injury Ryuko sustained was repaired in a split second. After a few more mighty attacks, Ryuko overwhelmed him too much, eventually breaking through in one of their clashes. Seeing her opening, she lunges forward and impales Devilman with her scissor blades, her swords stabbing out through his back completely. Devilman hacked up blood, but took the chance to spit fire directly into her face, making her grit her teeth as she powered through the flames. It was merely a distraction however as Devilman reeled his arms back, readied his claws, and stabbed them into Ryuko's stomach before he relentlessly slashed and gouged out her flesh. Both of their blood stained the space around them, but no matter how fast Devilman clawed at her, he couldn't overwhelm her healing factor, the grizzly wound in her body quickly repairing itself as Devilman attacked. Ryuko didn't even react to it, just glaring at Devilman even through the fire being blasted at her as he kept clawing at her, going on to the point that his claws started to break against her until he had no claws left. Having had enough, Ryuko brutally yanks her swords from his body, making Devilman lurch forward past her as she immediately slashes at his back, slicing off both of his wings. He lets out a pained yell, barely turning fast enough to catch Ryuko's swords as she tries to stab his head. The blades cut deep into his hands as he gripped hard to stop them, barely holding up as he was a bloody mess, wounds all over his body, missing a leg, spewing blood, and no longer able to fly without his wings.

Ryuko: What's the matter!? Not stubborn enough to keep fighting!?

Ryuko taunted as she put more force in, making it harder for Devilman to keep her at bay, until he takes a deep breath and leans into her, moving her swords past his head and getting right in her face.

Devilman: SHUT!!! UUUUUUUUUUUP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Without warning, Devilman unleashes an impossibly loud yell, the force of his scream sending her flying back towards Earth. Even in the vacuum of space, the sheer volume of his scream made Ryuko feel like her skull was going to shatter, gripping her head in pain as the reverberations of his roar shook her to her core, both her and Senketsu feeling immense pain everywhere.

Ryuko: AAAHHHH!!!! F-fuck!!! Too... damn loud!!!!!

Sengetsu: Ngh! Come on, Ryuko! Focus! We can do this!

Heeding Senketsu's advice, Ryuko stops gripping her head, tolerating the pain and closing her eyes as she starts focusing on the deafening sounds coming from Devilman. She concentrates on how it sounds, feeling the soundwaves hitting her body as she and Senketsu start tuning their Life Fibers to match it. After several seconds of focusing, she holds her hand out in front of her, getting a feel for the unbearable sound before she suddenly opens her eyes, the soundwaves hitting her suddenly getting concentrated and reflected right back at Devilman from her body, so focused that it was practically a laser. The blast of sound easily rips through Devilman's yell and barrels into him, pushing him back miles away from Earth and causing massive internal damage to him. He felt his organs rupturing and his bones fracturing as the sound blast carries him halfway to the moon before finally dissipating, letting Devilman fire a beam of fire behind him to stop himself.

Senketsu: Alright! Now Ryuko!

Ryuko: Time to end this!!!

Ryuko brings her scissor blades together, connecting them into becoming the Rending Scissors once more as it suddenly started to morph and transform like a machine.

Ryuko/Senketsu: Scissor Blade...

Even thousands of miles away from them and the planet, Devilman saw as Ryuko's scissor blades started growing to titanic proportions. Both halves of her scissors transformed into gargantuan blades so unfathomably massive that they eclipsed the Earth itself.

Ryuko/Senketsu: ALUMNI MODE!!!!!!!!

Devilman could barely believe what he was seeing, but didn't have the time to dwell on it as Ryuko angled her gargantuan Rending Scissors to point at him, opening the huge blades and starting to fly towards Devilman. She was closing the distance between them quickly, ready to crush Devilman into paste.

Ryuko: Get ready dipshit, this is it! I don't know what the hell you are or where you're from, but this world's better off without monsters like you trying to end it!!!

She was coming in fast, the titanic scissors drawing nearer ready to close in on him as all he could do was watch. He couldn't fly out of the way since his wings were sliced off and fire attacks would be less than useless now. All that was left was for him to wait as he floated in place. Eventually the time had come, Ryuko finally reached him, and her massive scissors loomed above and below him. Seeing that Devilman was in range, Ryuko let out a yell and closed her gigantic scissors, its massive blades closing in on Devilman. As the blades came careening onto him, Devilman grit his teeth, pooling all the strength he could muster up as they finally reached him. He holds his arms out above and below him, catching the blades of Ryuko's titanic scissors with all his might, the strain already making it feel like his arms were going to snap like twigs, yelling as he tries his hardest to keep the blades from closing on him. His body erupted with flames as he was pushing the Rending Scissors apart slowly, blood spraying from his body as it could barely handle the sheer force and his hands getting cut open deep along the sharp edges of the scissors.

Ryuko grit her teeth, trying to close the Rending Scissors on him as hard as she could, unable to believe that Devilman was still persisting even in his condition. The added effort Ryuko put in was barely overpowering Devilman as the scissors were starting to close on him slowly, his arms bending in towards him as he could barely hold on for much longer, closing his eyes as he channeled everything he had.

Devilman: I told you... I'm not a monster!

Devilman started pushing past the pain, ignoring the damage his body took from forcing himself to go so far, forcing apart the Rending Scissors as he was miraculously overpowering Ryuko against all odds.

Devilman: I'm...

Ryuko's eyes widened as she was being overwhelmed, unable to close the Rending Scissors to finish him off as Devilman went to break through with one final push.

Devilman: DEVILMAN!!!!!!!!

In one foul swoop, Devilman forced apart the massive blades, forcing Ryuko's scissors apart entirely as he separated the blades, making her lose her grip on one of the blades. Devilman lets go of the scissor blade Ryuko was holding and grabs the one above him, yanking the massive sword towards him until the handle of the blade came into view, grabbing onto it and swinging it overhead to bring down on Ryuko with a scream.

Senketsu: Don't give up, Ryuko!!!

Ryuko hears Senketsu and grabs the handle of the other half of her scissors, yelling out and swinging up towards Devilman with all her might.

Ryuko/Devilman: HAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

The two clash both halves of the Rending Scissors with so much power that they shatter to pieces on impact, creating a massive shockwave that splits the moon completely in half, stuns them both, launches the two back, and sends huge chunks of the blades in all directions. Devilman recovers and grabs onto a huge piece of debris from the scissors, tearing a sharp red chunk from it and waiting for it to spin around until he can see Ryuko again. Once she's within sight, Devilman propels himself from the shattered chunk of the Rending Scissors with his one foot, leaping from the scattered debris of their clash towards Ryuko. Ryuko recovered, looking around dazed just in time to see Devilman launching himself from a huge chunk of her blades straight at her, catching fire as he reeled his arm back with the sharp chunk he ripped from the shattered sword. She couldn't react in time as Devilman crashed into her, launching both of them back towards the Earth at blazing speeds as he stabbed the sharp chunk he held into her body. That did the trick, as this sharp piece came from her scissor blades, resulting in it destroying her Life Fibers and preventing her from healing. Ryuko yelled in pain as Devilman ruthlessly gouged into her with this sharp piece, trying fruitlessly to push him away as she shoved, punched and kicked to no avail. Soon enough they had reached Earth, entering the atmosphere as they started to burn up in orbit with Devilman still relentlessly cutting into Ryuko, headed on a crash course straight for a lone island in the middle of the ocean. Devilman reels his arm back to stab into Ryuko one last time before careening into it in a massive explosion that rends everything around them asunder.

When the blast, fire, and dust finally cleared, almost everything around where they crashed was gone. The ocean around them was still and the sky was red as huge pieces of the Rending Scissors fell into orbit, glowing brightly as they burned up in the atmosphere. All that remained of the island was a small, burnt chunk of land that stuck out from the ocean, and in the center of it was Devilman, bloody and panting heavily as he was leaned over Ryuko's unmoving body on the ground no longer in her Kisaragi Mode, stabbing the piece of her sword into her heart. She and Senketsu were dead.

Akira started transforming back into his regular state, no longer Devilman as he climbed off Ryuko's lifeless body and laid on the ground next to her. He didn't do anything more, simply staring at the sky, covered in wounds and missing a leg, letting tears flow freely from his eyes as Ryuko and Senketsu slowly faded away into Life Fibers, carried off and scattered by the wind as all was said and done.

Boomstick: Well... uh... so much for trying to save the world, I guess.

Wiz: With their frankly absurd tenacity and their unwillingness to go down, both Ryuko and Devilman served as formidable opponents for each other that resulted in an extremely close match, and while Ryuko certainly had quite a few good advantages, the devil with a human heart wouldn't be felled so easily.

Boomstick: Oh yeah, Ryuko definitely had a bunch of stuff going in her favor, most of all being that her healing was way better than Devilman's.

Wiz: Correct. While Devilman's healing factor was thorough enough to replace entire limbs, that was over a fairly lengthy course of time that couldn't hold much weight in the middle of a fight. Meanwhile, Ryuko's Life Fiber self-repair was far more fast acting, capable of closing up huge wounds and reattaching lost limbs in an instant. When it came to patching themselves up, Ryuko had the clear edge.

Boomstick: Plus, she also had a lot more to work with in comparison. Devilman's toolkit overall wasn't as diverse as what Ryuko had to offer. Even with things like his super yelling, hulking up his arms, and all his neato fire powers, Ryuko's range of abilities and transformations between Senketsu and her scissor blades offered her a lot more flexibility and even counters to some of Devilman's own, like how she could reflect his screams right back at him by tuning her Life Fibers and match his flight with Senketsu's Shippu form.

Wiz: Neither of them were particularly skilled or experienced in combat given how both of their journeys happen over a pretty short timeframe. Though admittedly Ryuko was involved with a lot more actual fights against club presidents, the Elite Four, Satsuki, Nui, Ragyo, and so on, while Akira never had any genuine prolonged fights aside from Silene and Ryo, meaning as little as it was, Ryuko had a definite edge in combat experience.

Popup: It is possible to assume that Devilman has the memories and experiences of Amon given how he could recognize the water devil Ghelmer despite having never met him before, though this is purely speculative.

Boomstick: But now that that's out of the way, we can start talking about the big stuff, which unfortunately for Ryuko is where Devilman starts taking the reins. For starters, the gap in power at the beginning was absolutely massive. Ryuko was obviously ridonkulously strong, but her starting transformations were a far cry from stacking up to even the lowest feats that Devilman could pull off. Ryuko's big clash with Satsuki was strong enough to make a blast spanning the whole of Honnouji Academy equaling 180 kilotons of TNT, but even the lowest output of Devilman's volcanic eruption in his fight against Xenon gets up to 4 megatons! Meaning at minimum, Devilman was over 22 times more powerful. Even with her super healing, taking hits from someone that powerful was gonna go south for Ryuko eventually.

Wiz: Especially when it came to endurance. Ryuko's survivability thanks to her Life Fibers was absolutely absurd, but Devilman had her surprisingly close to being matched. Barring literal decapitation or getting cut clean in half, many of the things Ryuko survived are things Akira has endured as well, from having holes ripped into them to losing whole limbs. Ultimately Ryuko's healing, survivability, and versatility wasn't going to be enough to last against someone with the bull-headed stubbornness to match her and the raw power to completely overwhelm her. So in the end, she really only had one option. Kisaragi.

Boomstick: And it definitely could've turned the tide considering just how powerful it was! The absolutely gargantuan hole she made in the Life Fibers surrounding the Earth bumps Ryuko up above anything Devilman has done directly. Even with Devilman's planet sized explosions in his fight against Ryo getting up to 160 petatons of TNT, Ryuko's feat reached 660 exatons! That's over 4,000 times more powerful than Devilman's explosions!

Wiz: But that's not all for Devilman. Remember, in their fight, Akira struck Ryo with enough force to create a shockwave which parted a titanic hole in the ocean.

Boomstick: Now, I know making a hole in some water may not sound nearly as impressive as, say, making Earth eclipsing explosions in any way, shape, or form, but... I- 'sigh' physics is weird, Wiz can explain.

Wiz: Given that this massive hole in the ocean measures about 709 miles in diameter, to displace that much seawater in a split-second means that Akira was striking with a force close to 19 exatons of TNT. 380 billion times more powerful than the most powerful nuclear bomb ever created!

Boomstick: Now that's definitely better for Devilman than before, but that still meant that he'd be over 34 times weaker than Ryuko in Senketsu's Kisaragi form. So with the absurd power to support her better healing and survivability, all Ryuko needed to do was land a fatal blow before her transformation's time limit ran out, and that's what this came down to. Time. Could Ryuko kill Devilman before her time was up?

Wiz: Because of the Kisaragi transformation's immense power, it required the consumption of an immense supply of Ryuko's blood to use, meaning she only had a brief period of time to have enough of an advantage to put Devilman down, which begged the question, could she catch him?

Boomstick: If you saw the ending to the fight... you can probably figure out the answer to that.

Wiz: Ryuko's feats of speed were certainly nothing to scoff at. She was fast enough to rocket out of the atmosphere in Senketsu's Kisaragi form at speeds 500 times faster than sound and could slice apart enough tennis balls in a split second to react at nearly Mach 7,800! Tremendous speeds to be sure... but not compared to Devilman. In his battle against Ryo, he launched Ryo all the way to a nearby continent from the ocean and then closed the gap just as quickly, putting his flight speed at around Mach 7000, and earlier in that same fight narrowly avoided a laser which covered the distance from Earth to the moon in less than 1 second, meaning he dodged an attack moving over 860 million miles per hour. This means that Devilman could move 14 times faster and react over 140 times faster than Ryuko, and because Ryuko's healing was dependent on her Life Fibers stitching back together before an attack could finish passing through her, this ensured Devilman was actually fast enough to bypass her healing.

Boomstick: So even with more than enough power to down him with one solid attack, chances of her landing that lucky fatal blow weren't as likely as Devilman just outpacing her and timing out her transformation until she didn't have enough blood to keep it up, and given how Devilman is still strong enough to draw blood from a moon-busting powerhouse like Ryo, whatever hits he landed would only shorten Ryuko's time even more. Once her transformation ended, Devilman had every means of ending the fight right then and there.

Wiz: In the end, while Ryuko and Senketsu's staggering survivability, absurd healing, versatile transformations and abilities, and titanic power definitely gave him a run for his money, they weren't enough against Akira's stalwart tenacity, incredible speed, and a transformation with no true time limit.

Boomstick: Ryuko was Alum'nigh' unbeatable, but Devilman was too much of 'A-mon'ster for her to handle.

Wiz: The winner is Akira Fudo, Devilman.
