Rosalina vs. Chronoa is a What-If? Death Battle made by RandoMan21. This fight will be pitting Rosalina from the Super Mario series against Chronoa from the Dragon Ball series.

SKOTvsRosa

Banner made by RandoMan21.

Description[]

Super Mario vs. Dragon Ball! The connections between time and space will enter a new frontier as these two cosmic queens will duke it out to determine the strongest superstar in existence! Will Rosalina be able to prevail with the power of the cosmos or will Chronoa be able to harness time itself and emerge as the winner?

Interlude[]

(Cue Music: Wiz and Boomstick)

Wiz: Rosalina, the cosmic protector of the Lumas watching over the Super Mario Galaxy.

Boomstick: And Chronoa, the temporal Supreme Kai of Time guarding the Dragon Ball Xenoverse.

Wiz: We've covered a lot of interstellar deities on Death Battle before, but none have shown much determination and spirit as these two guardians of their own universes.

Boomstick: So buckle up, because this is gonna be a a galactic doozy! He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle!

Rosalina Is The Superstar Of DEATH BATTLE![]

(Cue Music: Star Festival)

Wiz: Once every 100 years, on the eve of the Star Festival, a huge comet would fly over the Mushroom Kingdom and fill the entire sky with magical shooting stars called Star Bits. The Toads would then gather to collect these Star Bits and marge them together to create a Power Star.

Boomstick: What's a Power Star, you may ask? Well, aside from being a shiny artifact that could help you read at night, it's also a source of power that helps keep the skies and even the universe in balance.

Pop-Up Note: Did you know that the original Super Mario Galaxy game was inspired by the Super Mario 128 tech demo that was shown back at Nintendo Space World 2000? A programmer realized after watching the demo that the problem of “getting lost” in a 3D Mario level could be solved by making the level round, which helped set up the foundation for the game.

Wiz: One day, Princess Peach, the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, decided to invite her hero Mario, or Luigi if you're playing on a separate save file, to join her in her castle and enjoy the festivities of the Star Festival.

Boomstick: But considering that the Mushroom Kingdom has a track record of having the worst security system ever, Bowser just had to ruin the fun by kidnapping the princess, encase her castle in a giant UFO, trapping her citizens in crystals, and threatening to use the Power Stars to create an entirely new galaxy in his image! Man, he really likes to go over the top with these kidnappings.

Wiz: But one apricot-colored star creature was able to survive the capture. This... thing called a Luma found Mario stranded on a small planet following the scuffle and the two would agree to team up to stop Bowser.

(Cue Music: Comet Observatory Ver. 3)

Boomstick: But it wasn't long before its mom arrived on the scene in perhaps the grandest fashion possible. And in a good way.

BACKGROUND[]

  • Other Names: Rosetta, Harmonie, Estela
  • Age: Thousands of years old
  • Weight: 231 lbs. (105 kg.)
  • Height: 7'3" (221 cm.)
  • Residence: Comet Observatory
  • Likes: Reading, sports, playing the guitar
  • Protector of the Cosmos and Lumas
  • Always seen with 1 eye covered

Wiz: This was no ordinary mother. This was the protector of the cosmos, Princess Rosalina.

Boomstick: This cyan-dressed goddess may look like a wholesome video game waifu, and she totally is, but she actually serves to protect all of space itself, watching over the stars while also serving as the adoptive mother of the Lumas.

Wiz: Rosalina would give Mario the Luma he had encountered as his partner collect the Power Stars, defeat Bowser and help repair her home, the Comet Observatory.

Boomstick: Yeah, it turns out that while Bowser was flying to the Mushroom Kingdom, he stumbled upon the Observatory and stole not only the Power Stars, but the Grand Stars as well!

Wiz: These stars are capable of conjuring up entire planets and even making whole galaxies. These also act as fuel to the home's engines to have it zoom through all of time and space in seconds.

Pop-Up Note: Since Power Stars are similarly destructive as the black holes seen in the games, sealing these with the stars would have to take a total of 120 quattuordecillion joules of energy, which is over 28 ninatons of TNT!

Boomstick: One Power Star alone can seal black holes, erase enemies from existence, defy the laws of physics, and even grants wishes like a genie in a bottle! So she was rightfully triggered to see a flying turtle-dragon steal these from right under her nose.

Wiz: But little did he know that she has powers that far exceed anyone in the Mario universe. Though she would only be seen watching from above, her high intelligence lets her have knowledge of everything that goes on throughout the universe and can even telepathically communicate with others from an impossibly far distance.

Boomstick: This allows her to directly talk to Mario and give him help whenever he needs it. Her encyclopedic brain can even sense what type of enemy is trying to attack them.

Wiz: She's even seen the cycles of lives of stars and galaxies and even understands beings that are much powerful than her. And it helps that she also has experience in engineering and a doctrine in the medical field.

Boomstick: But this single mother's not always going to have to rely on smarts. Protecting all of space and time is a lot of hard work, so extreme measures have to be taken when necessary.

(Cue Music: Good Egg Galaxy)

ABILITIES & TECHNIQUES[]

  • Acrobatics
  • Flight
  • Teleportation
  • Size change
  • Telepathy
  • Telekinesis
  • Body possession
  • Afterimages
  • Size change
  • Pocket reality creation
  • Massive intelligence
  • Gravitational pull
  • Cosmic Spirit
  • Cosmic Magic
  • Regeneration
  • Meteor summon
  • Star Spin
  • Elemental spells

Wiz: Rosalina isn't seen much to the normal eye, but she's actually an expert fighter whose main fighting styles focus on defense and magic. With her trusty wand, she can fly, teleport, use telekinesis, change her size, turn invisible, manipulate gravity, and can create force-fields. She can create afterimages to fool those who try to stomp at her and can even bring people and objects back to a surface with a created gravitational pull.

Boomstick: She also has access to elemental attacks with water, fire, ice, and much more. And she has an insane healing factor whenever she needs to fuel up and can resist even the cold and other radiations.

Wiz: These methods of extraterrestrial powers are pulled in from the stars themselves, creating a force that allows her to pull off unprecedented feats, such as the time where she could send in a cosmic clone of herself to instruct Mario on how to obtain a specific star.

Boomstick: And she does so by possessing Mario right then and there! Damn, maybe giving him some sort of future vision would have done the trick, but I guess that works too. Speaking of which, she can possess people with Cosmic Spirit!

Wiz: With the Star Spin, she can attack foes with heavy gusts of winds, control elements such as fire and ice, summon meteors hurling from the sky, and shoot out Star Bits to stun them when least expected.

Boomstick: Her speed is also insane! We're not sure how fast she can go, but the closest we can get to was when Mario was going from one Galaxy to the next AND when he was piloting the Starship Mario. Which is a ship... shaped like Mario's face... Yeah, the sequel got just as crazy.

(Jocelyn steps in.)

Jocelyn: That's where I step in!

Wiz: Oh! Jocelyn! Perfect timing.

Boomstick: What kind of over-the-top research do you have for us this week?

Jocelyn: First, thanks for not calling research useless this time. Second, considering that each level in both games are counted as separate galaxies, there are probably hundreds, if not, thousands of galaxies that Mario travels through and flies in each voyage, which are all a part of entire universes.

Boomstick: Though, it's possible to figure out the exact length of the Mario universe because of it, making it hard to figure out the exact length of 1 whole universe.

Jocelyn: And that's nothing compared to where each level can have the possibility of being clustered together, like with Grandmaster Galaxy.

Wiz: Let's compare how Mario gets to each and every Galaxy to start. To travel from the real-life Milky Way to the Andromeda galaxy, which is about 2.5 million years across, it would normally take almost 9 trillion miles per hour, which is over 13,000 times the speed of light.

Jocelyn: And that would take an hour to reach its fastest mileage. Assuming that it would take the Starship Mario about 5 seconds to move from 1 galaxy to the other, it would have needed to be flying at a speed of nearly 280 quadrillion times faster than light. And that's not counting the stars themselves that travel all across the multiverse, something that would require about 800 quadrillion times faster than light, which is nearly 3 times faster! And the Comet Observatory is even stated to be much faster than that by taking Mario to the center of the universe!

Wiz: Which, in itself, would have to take around 735 quintillion times faster than sound at its very minimum!

Boomstick: If you think she's unable to do all of this despite her high stamina, that's where you're wrong. Rosa carries with her a bunch of items that the Mario cast have used over the years.

(Cue Music: Buoy Base Galaxy)

Wiz: Despite having to spend much of her duties in space, she was able to have some free time joining the fun on-land. Activities such as go-karting, parties, and even directly aiding Mario and friends in saving the Sprixie Kingdom from the clutches of Bowser.

ARSENAL & POWER-UPS[]

  • Normal Kit
    • Wand
    • Lumas
    • Star Bits
    • Launch Star
      • Sling Star
    • Forcefield creation
    • Lumas
    • Power Stars
    • Grand Stars
  • Power-Ups
    • Starman
    • Mega Mushroom
    • Fire Flower
    • Boomerang Flower
    • Double Cherry
    • Super Bell
      • Lucky Bell
      • Invincibility Bell
    • Super Leaf
      • Invincibility Leaf

Boomstick: With her excellent range and unpredictable speeds, she picked up a lot of experience when it comes to kicking ass. She can use the Fire Flower to shoot fireballs, the Super Bell to climb walls and scratch enemies like a cat, the Boomerang Flower to shoot Boomerangs, the Super Leaf to gain extra height, and the Double Cherry to clone herself an indefinite amount of times!

Wiz: Another version of the Super Bell, the Lucky Bell, allows her to turn into a statue and crush opponents while collecting coins on the way down.

Jocelyn: Fun fact: the appearance of the person in the Lucky Cat suit resembles the real life maneki-neko, a common Japanese figurine which is made to symbolize good fortune. Most of the Mario cats show off this reference by raising their right hand. Luigi, on the other hand, raises his left hand to welcome customers and friends, and it's led many to theorize that Luigi's a bit of a party animal!

Boomstick: Ah, attacking with the power of currency. Never a dull day in the Mario universe, huh?

Wiz: With the Mega Mushroom, she can grow in size and she can gain a short duration of invulnerability with the Starman! It's kind of nice to enjoy the little things, even if she already knows how to use those abilities without power-ups.

Boomstick: But if she wants to pull out some bullshit, she can use the Invincibility Leaf and Invincibility Bell to become untouchable. Any and every enemy that touches her gets turned into dust as she rampages through the world with an iron fist! Aha!

Pop-Up Note: While power-ups like the Invincibility Leaf and Invincibility Bell can only be accessed through specific situations, she will be given these items to even the playing field.

Wiz: All these power-ups, as well as her magic and spells, make her one of the strongest characters in the entire Mario multiverse. And... let's face it. These Stars NEED to be brought up yet again. It can't be helped that these things are just everywhere.

Boomstick: We're not even trying to make this analysis look so scrambled. These stars are just a part of Rosalina's life wherever she goes. When she needs a quick flight, she uses a Launch Star to go from one Galaxy to the next. In need of creating pathways to new Galaxies? Get a Power Star or even a Grand Star! You need to create Galaxies, but you're not in the mood to do it solo? Just get the Luma Launcher and send the Lumas to do it!

Wiz: Boomstick! We talked about this!

Boomstick: What? it's actually true!

Jocelyn: Sadly, he has a point. These Lumas are essentially walking batteries that care for their mother so much that they'll do anything to keep the universe in balance. They'll fight alongside them and take a heavy hit, and even if it means having to sacrifice themselves to create planets, stars, and even whole new Galaxies, they'll go down knowing that they did it for their adoptive mother.

Wiz: Wow, I... This feels a little awkward now.

Boomstick: And this is why Bowser wanted these stars to begin with. It practically has the power to bend reality at his whim and make those who crossed him be erased from his eyes.

(Cue Music: Gusty Garden Galaxy)

Wiz: Funny you should mention that. When it was finally time for Mario to beat Bowser in this new Galaxy and save the Princess, a large sun would set off a supernova and cause an entire black hole to swallow the entire universe. And with their noteworthy sacrifices, the Lumas were able to neutralized the threat before everything exploded.

Boomstick: This entire Sun was powered by the biggest Grand Star you've ever seen! I mean, sure, you can look at Rosalina's Grand Star in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for an easier scale, but this one is on a whole different level!

Wiz: By measuring the distance of the supernova and the speed of which everything was being swallowed up, we can determine that this explosion must have yielded a force of up to 98 yottaFOE of force! More than the times where Bowser was thrown into the Sun or when Wario similarly destroyed the Black Jewel and collapsed an entire dimension!

Boomstick: And to Mario's shock, Rosalina actually saved him from the supernova and was actually the one who held it back.

Jocelyn: And because of this, she was able to reset the entire universe so that it repeats its cycle indefinitely, each time being a little different than the last. Everything practically bends to her will, even if she has to confront higher powers.

FEATS[]

  • Can travel across time and space in seconds
  • Kicked a soccer ball to a nearby star system and back
  • Tanked a universe reset while preventing its destruction from a black hole implosion
  • Knows of celestial beings beyond the Mario universe
  • Created many galaxies with ease
  • Spoke to Mario from the Comet Observatory while he was in the Mushroom Kingdom
  • Helped Mario in defeating Bowser

Wiz: Thanks to Rosalina's timely interference and the sacrifices of the Lumas, the entire universe was reset and peace was restored once again... Until Bowser tried his luck again and got sucked into a black hole.

Boomstick: Even if Bowser was able to harness the power of said black hole, Mario was able to kick his ass and save the day once again. So that would mean Mario and Rosalina are practically on the same level of power.

Wiz: But even with a heavy arsenal, it does have its limits. A sensitive hit to these power-ups causes them to vanish, and the invincibility power-ups will only give out for such a limited time and can even be dispatched from the user when it's all said and done.

Boomstick: Jeez, for such a heavy lore, it really relies on astrological vocabulary and a heavy emphasis on stars.

Jocelyn: It's actually much sadder than you think. Thousands of years ago when Rosalina was just a little child, the Comet Observatory crashed into the Mushroom Kingdom and one of the Lumas was there to comfort her for when she needed it most, creating a bond that can only be seen as that of a loving family's. You're about to see why in a second.

Wiz: This wasn't done just for placement writing. Despite Rosalina offering to fix the ship and doing so in record time, she needed someone to be with her as she was waiting for her mother, who was due to return any day now. Then those days turned into weeks, and then months, and then years. She had waited until she puzzled together that her mother wasn't coming home. She had realized that she was "asleep under the tree".

Pop-Up Note: A popular theory suggest that Peach is Rosalina's mother and Luigi is the father. In the French version of Rosalina's storybook, her father is described as a tall mustached man. This is not at all true as no such evidence suggests that they could be her parents nor do they show any signs of knowing her before the events of the first game.

Boomstick: Holy shit. That's... that's actually kind of dark for a children's game. Now I-I really feel bad for her... (sniff) And I thought I had it worse with my dad leaving me...

Jocelyn: Hey, it's not all that bad! At least she's able to do with without a man by her side!

Wiz: Despite coming to terms with her loss, Rosalina kept her determination, vowing to protect the Lumas and giving them the two things that she didn't know life has stripped her away from: A family and a place to call home.

Boomstick: That's... (wipes away tears) that's some powerful queen shit.

Jocelyn: It's insane to think how she can bend reality and their cosmic planes all while having time for go-karting. She truly is a role model for all.

Boomstick: She's raced through rainbows, fast enough to dodge anything as fast as comets, and even took on the shitstorm that is Mario Party. Even though she may never be able to be with her mother again, she'll always have her Lumas by her side as she tells them stories about what goes on in the vast skies of space. And until someone bold enough is able to take that throne from her, she'll always be helping Mario and friends from any and all incoming threats.

Wiz: As such for the watcher of the stars herself for there has never been a revered goddess of space quite like Princess Rosalina.

Rosalina: Thank you... I will watch over you from beyond the stars.

Chronoa's Mission Starts On DEATH BATTLE![]

(Cue Music: Character Creation (Xenoverse 2))

Boomstick: The Xenoverse! You're quite familiar with this place by now, and in the world of Dragon Ball, it gets more busier than a normal afternoon in New York.

Wiz: On the edge of the 7th Universe lays a civilization dedicated to keeping tranquility throughout this massive multiverse. A populous which thrives to defend time itself from any ruptures to its natural flow.

Boomstick: They called this haven Conton City, an exclusive city that houses people of all ages and races. Whether you're a Saiyan, Namekian, Earthing, Majin, or even an Arcosian, they don't discriminate because joining the Time Patrol is the job for you!

Wiz: The Time Patrol branch themselves out throughout the Dragon Ball universe's history so that any and all distortions are prevented and create broken anomalies. And it's not just their abilities that they're improving on, but also their intelligence and daily life.

Boomstick: I'd say this job pays easily, but have you seen what they have to go through in that sort of basis?

Wiz: Luckily for them, they had a leader to look up to to lead them into battling the temporal forces of evil. the Supreme Kai of Time, Chronoa.

(Cue Music: PHY LR Goku & Vegeta Finish Skill 2)

BACKGROUND[]

  • Real Name: Chronoa
  • Age: Over 75 million years
  • Height: 4'3" (Base); 6'0" (Transformed)
  • Residence: Time Nest
  • Likes: Preserving time, taking charge, posing, Bardock
  • Supreme Kai of Time and Time Patrol leader
  • Caretaker of Tokitoki
  • Have you tried her food lately?

Boomstick: This guardian may look like she got lost at a nearby supermarket, but have you SEEN the deities that Dragon Ball has? They ranged from big to small and wimpy to buff as hell!

Wiz: As the Supreme Kai of Time, it's her duty to watch all of the timelines of Dragon Ball and to be the caretaker of the divine bird, Tokitoki.

Boomstick: Why is taking care of a bird so important? Well, each time they lay an egg, they spawn a brand new universe, and in turn, spawn a whole new timeline!

Wiz: If you're confused, let's go back a few years. About... say, 75 million years or so ago. When Chronoa was merely an ordinary Kai, she and her rival, Mechikabura, were vying to become the next Supreme Kai of Time. After Aeos had vacated her position, both were tasked to protect their own eggs to determine who would be next in line.

Pop-Up Note: Because of the multiple instances of the Time Patrol being present in Dragon Ball media, such as with Online, Heroes, and Xenoverse, there isn't a definitive version of Chronoa. Despite this, all of what was mentioned will be included in this analysis.

Boomstick: Naturally, Chronoa was able to keep hers intact, but mean ol' Mechi tried to pull a fast one and speed up the process with some dark magic. Thankfully, Chronoa saw through this act and sent him and his cronies to the backwater dump in the bottom of the universe known as the Demon Realm.

Wiz: With the demons gone, she would take her place and began scouting out potential candidates for her new time-protecting enforcers, including the likes of Sealas and Trunks. Though, you wouldn't know it from Sealas. He basically wanted to triumph over history and rewrite it into his own reality.

Boomstick: Trunks, on the other hand, was a completely different story. After hopping through the past and future to prevent Goku from having a heart virus and preventing the androids from running amok, she put him under custody and made her work for her new forces.

(Cue Music: Main Menu / Character Selection (Xenoverse 2))

Wiz: Thankfully in this timeline, strength takes on new meaning. Trunks was able to learn under her knowledge and training, with the results stemming from being able to move around the Dragon Ball universe several septillions of time faster than light and even keep up with other versions of well-known heroes such as Goku and Vegeta.

Pop-Up Note: Chronoa could also likely scale to the Future Warriors of the first 2 Xenoverse games, whom of which are said to have become the strongest warriors in the entire Time Patrol.

Boomstick: Chronoa knows how to get fancy with getting people in shape, and she's no slouch herself. She's a skilled martial artist and can easily get a read on an opponent's power after a certain point in battle.

Wiz: Her high intelligence also gives her an advantage on who the opponent is and allows her to pull herself ahead of the curve.

Boomstick: Her fighting style mainly consists of going for a longer range, but that's okay! She can make up for fighting distantly thanks to her pew-pew lasers!

ABILITIES & TECHNIQUES[]

  • Flight
  • Teleportation
  • God Ki
  • Energy Blasts
  • Magic
  • Time Abilities
    • Time Travel
    • Time Manipulation
    • Timeline Erase
    • Freeze
    • Time Dilation
    • Injury Transfer
    • Eternal Time Labyrinth
    • Sealing Spells
  • Healing
  • Kai Kai
  • Holy Time Judgment
    • Temporal Judgment
  • Sacred Furious Light Bullet
  • Dark Judgment
  • Time Clock
  • Space-Time Transfer: Light
  • Holy Inscription
    • Kairos Cannon
    • Temporal Holy Ray
    • Godly Chronos Cannon
  • Timespace Impact
  • Chaos Wall
  • Reflect
  • Memory Wipe
  • Inanimate Object Animation

Wiz: Like most Dragon Ball characters, she can harness the power of ki, or one's own life force, to manipulate its energy and fire several forms of blasts and attacks. She can fire green sphered bombs with the Kairos Cannon, shoot bolts of lightning with the Time Judgment, and fire clock-like sigils with the Temporal Holy Ray.

Boomstick: She can even stack these moves together with the Godly Chronos Cannon and can even increase the power of her lightning with Temporal Justice!

Wiz: She can even summon blades that look similar to clock hands with the Holy Inscription, amplifying her skills and making her close-ranged attacks fast enough to effortlessly cut through anything.

Pop-Up Note: In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, it's stated that the drawback for Holy Inscription is that the hit counter resets after use.

Boomstick: And that's just when she needs to fight up-close!

Wiz: She also has mastery in magic, being able to seal others in contained sphere to drain their energy, hold them in chains, and heal other people's wounds and give them to herself to get that heat off of them.

Boomstick: She can form walls that can block any attack and even send them back with a strong effect with Reflect. Plus, she can even erase people's minds and turn any inanimate object into whatever she wants, like how she was able to create this giant Dragon statue that hovers around Conton City!

Wiz: She can even freeze time itself and move freely to get the upper hand, like with her predecessor, Aeos. Her time-halting abilities were so powerful that it took Chamel, one of Demigra's strongest demon allies, to try and make an attempt to counter it.

Pop-Up Note: It should be noted that many other Dragon Ball characters are able to move through stopped time, like when the main timeline's Goku used Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken to counter Hit's Time Skip abilities or when he moved across Aeos's frozen time.

Boomstick: And in a separate reality, Chamel was able to take some of the dark energy from a Timespace Door and make the whole Xenoverse fall apart. At his peak, he was able to shake the entire multiverse just by EXISTING, which makes Chronoa able to scale to that level! What kind of monstrosity did he have to go through to handle that?

Wiz: Jocelyn, might lending a hand?

Jocelyn: Well, you're in luck! I managed to sneak something special that could help out with the problem!

(Jocelyn pulls out a Time Scroll from thin air, surprising Wiz and Boomstick.)

Boomstick: Woah! Where'd you even get that from?!

(Cue Music: Tree of Might Stage)

Jocelyn: Don't ask. I just... know a few people, ehehe... Anyways, Chronoa keeps track of history with the Scrolls of Eternity, sacred tomes that holds the key to seeing every point in time throughout the Dragon Ball universe. Once someone hops through time, more of these will appear until a certain limit is triggered and WAPOW! You've practically set yourself up for the collapse of everything. She and her temporal minutemen use scrolls to travel across time to fix what villains like the Demon Realm cooked up.

Boomstick: Being ballsy with time does come with a risk, but Chronoa and the Time Patrol are able to use these, as well as other factors like a fancy wristband, without having to worry about the consequences of affecting everything around them.

Wiz: There's a catch. Should Chronoa die at any point, then the entire Time Nest as well as the infinite timelines itself will cease to exist. So she has to be careful when she tries to go into the deep end.

Boomstick: This means that she'll try to only take part of the battle if she needs to. But she has quite the arsenal to make up for it.

ARSENAL & TRANSFORMATIONS[]

  • Potara Earrings
    • Greatly increase the user's abilities
  • Scrolls of Eternity
  • Time Machine
  • Key Sword
    • Purifies dark magic
    • Able to send foes to the Time Labyrinth
    • Nullifies an opponent's powers
  • Time Power Unleashed
    • Massive stat boost to abilities
    • Power by multiple timelines' existence
    • Complete control of time

Boomstick: She has different methods of time travel such as with the Scrolls of Eternity, a Time Machine, and even nothing at all! She even has these Potara Earrings in her ears that allows her to pull off the crazy shit that was mentioned before.

Wiz: The Potara Earrings are meant to be an example of providing a greater effect, as once explained by Elder Kai and showed off by Vegetto. And some would say that this is outdated material, but remember. Every Kai that has them are able to equal their powers to godhood.

Boomstick: Even Demigra and Aeos are shown to wear those, so... w-we're trying our best with this information here.

Wiz: However, she can also use her trump card and transform into her Time Power Unleashed state, a form greater than her base and allows her to have complete control over all of time itself. She can even seal entire realms and timelines to reverse their dark effects in the blink of an eye, like how she was able to kill Dark Shenron.

(Cue Music: Open Wings)

Boomstick: And in the rematch against Mechikabura, she's also able to wield the powerful Key Sword, a blade that can purify dark magic, shut down a person's powers, and send them to the Eternal Time Labyrinth!

Pop-Up Note: The Key Sword can also be compared to Hearts's Universe Seed and even Fu's Universe Tree, the latter of which can erase all of reality itself and rewrite the entire Xenoverse. Both Chronoa and the Time Patrol have shown to be on par with and even best Fu, even after he absorbed the tree's power.

Jocelyn: This allows her to keep whoever gets trapped in there into the Crack of Time, a space outside of the infinite timelines with windows to others!

Wiz: And the Key Sword was powerful enough to kill Mechikabura in a single swing. Keep in mind, he was using a black hole called the Chaos Ball to absorb every timeline in the multiverse! At its core minimum, to generate such power from this much of a black hole compared to a real-life one would require a tiny scale of, say, 20 tenaFOE of force.

Jocelyn: And Trunks just cut him open in 1 full swoop for Chronoa to seal him away for good!

Wiz: This would align Chronoa as one of the strongest deities in the entire Dragon Ball Xenoverse, eclipsing the main timeline's Goku, whose first go as a Super Saiyan God against Beerus caused the entirety of Universe 7, a universe 13x bigger than our own, to shake apart.

Jocelyn: Or later on when Goku made his attempt to fully master Ultra Instinct in the Tournament of Power and create a whole galaxy-like alignment of particles from just him powering up.

Wiz: By looking at the size of the formation and the time it took to fully master Ultra Instinct, it would have required a force of up to 150 kiloFOE of force.

Boomstick: Even when she was brainwashed by the Dark Factor or when Aeos tried to reclaim her throne as Supreme Kai of Time, she wouldn't give up her status so easily.

(Cue Music: PHY Super Saiyan Goku Active Skill)

FEATS[]

  • Managed to reset all of the timelines back to normal
  • Fought on equal terms with Aeos
  • Took constant shenanigans from Tokitoki
  • Escaped Mechikabura's brainwashing
  • One of the oldest Kais alive (like with Elder Kai)
  • Helped Xeno Trunks power up the Awakened Key Sword
  • Defeated Demigra, Sealas, Dabura, Mechikabura

Wiz: She's managed to become one of the longest-living Kais out there, kept up with the Z-Fighters in the battle to stop Fu from creating his own universe, and even prevented Sealas from rewriting history and destroying all of those who opposed him.

Boomstick: She's even recruited some of the best of the best to help her in these sort of wars, such as with the Future Warriors, the raiders from the Breakers game, and even the Dragon Ball Heroes! You know, those group of kids who travel back in time by using trading cards to summon other Dragon Ball characters and keep up with them? Y-yeah, those guys.

Wiz: And remember, the Dragon Ball Heroes team once fought a version of other Dragon Ball villains like the Shadow Dragons and even Chamel and Demigra, all of which were able to affect both their world and even the game world, which is... also their world.

Boomstick: No wonder people are trying to make this more complicated as it should be... We just can't catch a break with this topic, can we?!

Wiz: Well, despite her accolades, she is vulnerable to her own faults. She usually tries to hide back from the fight and aid the hero from a distance. Her plans of defense don't really mesh well with getting up close since it happens more times than not, even if it's understandably so.

Boomstick: Plus, she's... kind of a shitty cook. That's not meant to be sexist. This is actually canon to her character! This one time, she tried to stop Beerus from going on a rampage by sending him and Goku some pudding. But as Whis was about take one, she revealed that she made it herself and Beerus just... had stomach crumps because of it.

Wiz: Don't judge a book by its cover, as they say. Chronoa's part in keeping peace throughout history has become nothing short of recognizable. Her dedication to leading the Time Patrol has led her to become well-known by many.

Jocelyn: And who knows? Maybe she can finally get Tokitoki to actually like her for once. Never really liked that bird whose means of creating new timelines is to pop eggs anyways.

Boomstick: So temporal poachers beware, 'cause Chronoa and the Time Patrol will be there kicking ass and saving the infinite timelines, one mission at a time!

Chronoa: What an incredible amount of energy. This fight isn't gonna be easy!

Closing Statements[]

(Cue Music: Wiz and Boomstick)

Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities!

Boomstick: It's time for a SPACE-TIME BATTLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!

The Fight[]

(Cue Music: Observation Dome)

The sounds of a fire crackling in the fireplace would surround the visibly small library. A tall woman with a cyan regal dress and light-yellow hair with a huge bang over her right eye can be seen reading one of countless books from these surrounding shelves.

Rosalina, the protector of the cosmos, was enjoying some reading time as small star-like chunks of cuteness rolled around the library playing around. The Lumas, as they were called, were Rosalina's adoptive children and always knew how to make their mother happy.

However, one of those rooms, an apricot colored one, flew into the room in a state of panic, as if someone had attacked the Comet Observatory and wanted something for the taking.

Rosalina: Huh? What is it, my child?

The apricot Luma would frantically explain in its own language that someone unknown had managed to sneak their way into the observatory and came with a powerful energy to sense as well. Huh. How convenient. Nonetheless, Rosalina would try to calm the Luma down by brushing the top of its head with her hand.

Rosalina: Fret not, my child. I'll handle this intruder myself.

She would get off of her seat, closed her book, and exited the library to see what was going on.

(Cue Music: World 1 & 2 (Super Mario Galaxy 2 Version))

The Comet Observatory, home to Rosalina and her Lumas, was a giant and humble abode for everyone aboard to observe the entire universe. It also had several connections to other worlds and galaxies. But its tranquility has suddenly been questioned by a small pink figure standing on the central entrance area.

Rosalina would make her way there as she would see this intruder standing with patience, as if she was waiting. This small, pink-skinned, and deity-garbed being was Chronoa, the Supreme Kai of Time. Rosalina sighed in relief as she knew that this wasn't a likely threat. She knew that someone with a similar power akin to hers was sensed a while back, and she wanted to invite this person over for some sort of intervention.

Rosalina: Oh, thank the stars. I've actually been expecting you, Supreme Kai of Time.

Chronoa: The pleasure is mine, Rosalina. I've seen what you can do in this universe back at the Time Nest.

Rosalina: Seems like you're very familiar of me as I am with you.

Chronoa: That's right. And I know what kind of power that lays dormant with in you, universal resets and all. Im fact, I want to see where your power lies with mine...

Chronoa walked up towards the taller goddess and stared at her with a serious face.

Chronoa: I wish to spar with you one-on-one!

This question took Rosalina by surprise. A sparring? Rosalina always had adventures that she can put in a book, but never has she been challenge to an actual fight.

Rosalina: A sparring? I've never really sparred with anyone before. This is the first time that I've been asked me for a fight...

After a few seconds to think it over, she decided that a simple sparring wouldn't be a bad thing, just so long as her Lumas don't get involved.

(Cue Music: Combat Start)

Rosalina: Alright. I accept your challenge!

Chronoa would smile and step back to take her fighting stance as the Lumas began to back away from what's about to happen between their mother and this time lady.

Chronoa: May the best goddess win!

Rosalina would summon her wand and pointed it towards Chronoa. As they both gave each other battle-fueled glances, the space goddess would attempt to make the first move and rushed forward towards her opponent.

F I G H T !

Chronoa would take one step back as she fired several ki blasts towards the princess, but Rosalina quickly stopped it by using her magic to redirect the blasts away from her. Chronoa fired several more blasts to try and get her off her balance. To her credit, while Rosalina fired the blasts away from her, she was being pushed back bit by bit.

Chronoa would use this chance to charge up and fire a Sacred Furious Light Bullet towards Rosalina. She was immediately struck by it and caused her to be moved near the center of the Observatory. She had to catch herself before flying towards the Kaioshin and letting out a strike with her elbow. Chronoa would do the same as a slight shockwave would emerge from this clash.

That's when the pinkie decided to go on the offense and delivered some punches and kicks, forcing Rosalina to dodge and weave much of her attacks. Chronoa would soon teleport behind her and kick her upwards.

This would lead to a heavy combo that would get the princess hit in several directions. She would then kick her downwards as well as giving more kicks directed towards her face. When Rosalina was about to land on the floor, she would punch her away towards the Terrace area.

(Cue Music: Melty Monster Galaxy)

Skidding across the grass, Rosalina quickly bounced back and held her arms in an X-position to block Chronoa's incoming fist. She would then grab her arms and slam her across the grass several times like she was made of paper. Rosa would then throw her into the air and aimed her wand towards the Kaioshin. Star Bits would then emerge from it and was hurling towards her temporal adversary.

Chronoa: Not gonna work against me! Kairos Cannon!

Chronoa would then fire off her Kairos Cannon to block off the Bits, with each blast holding them off one by one. As they imploded on one another, smoke would form from its struggle to counter one another. Chronoa would then dash towards the princess and attempted a knee strike to her face. But it was quickly countered by Rosalina using her magic to create a small wave of sparkles that acted as a second arm.

This would then lead to Chronoa retorting her attack by going for more punches and kicks. To her surprise, Rosalina's sparkles were clashing with hers without any need to be backed away at all. After she would go for an axe handle, Rosalina would block it and kicked her away to the other side of the grass area.

In a small sweat, the pink Kai would stand on one knee before he gave a cold stare to the princess.

Chronoa: Okay, not bad so far...

Rosalina: You've proven to have immense power, Chronoa. But I know that you have more within you.

Chronoa: Good to know, cause that was just a warm-up...

The Supreme Kai of Time would smirk before she would power herself up with a white aura and zoom off into the distance. This took Rosalina by surprise, assuming that Chronoa was gonna lead this fight elsewhere.

(Cue Music: Mission Select)

All the while, an orange Luma would approach next to their mother and immediately begun to spin around in circles at blistering speeds before it would immediately become a large Launch Star.

Rosalina would then hop on and twirl herself to prepare for launch. The Launch Star would soon shoot Rosalina into the air as she flew off to catch up to Chronoa.

(Cue Music: Purple Comet)

Meanwhile, the Supreme Kai of Time would fly across the final frontier before she immediately sensed something coming towards her. Looking back, she saw Rosalina flying towards her. So she stopped where she was and flew towards her to strike her with an elbow. They would soon clash again and exchange several strikes that could be felt around the surrounding environment.

Several streaks of light would be seen attacking each other as both fighters would land their fists against on another. They would soon strike through several incoming meteors, crashing into them one by one.

They kept colliding their fists and kicks before Chronoa teleported above Rosalina and shot several light arrows towards her. The princess would have to form a forcefield above her head to prevent getting damaged.

The Kaioshin would get closer to get more pressure on the forcefield, but Rosalina saw it coming and used her wand to fire more Star Bits to her stomach and send her crashing through one of the nearby meteors.

Rosalina would then notice a nearby planetoid in the distance, with it being home to a Question Mark Block. She would soon fly over to it and land on the grass. She would then make her way to jump and punch the bottom of the box for it to unveil a bronze Lucky Bell. Rosalina would grab it and quickly dawn her Lucky Cat Suit.

Chronoa would soon fly down to where she was and took notice of what Rosalina was wearing. She would hold her hands on her own mouth to try and make it not look like she was about to laugh so hard. Buuuut she couldn't hold it for long anyways.

Chronoa: HHHHHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Look at you! Y-you're a cat! You're- (WHEEEEEEEEZE)

As the time lord was cracking it up, Rosalina would stand there unamused by Chronoa's reactions.

(Cue Music: Limit Break x Survivor Instrumental (Type A))

Rosalina: Are you done now?

Chronoa: Y-yeah. Sorry, it's... Ehehehe...

That was when the small goddess would suddenly give her a much more serious look and tone.

Chronoa: Now you die.

Chronoa would soon rush towards Rosalina and summoned her Holy Inscription blades to swing towards her opponent's direction. That was when, with her new cat reflexes, Rosalina jumped over the blades and went for a claw swipe. Chronoa would get scratched before trying again.

Every swing that she tried to get towards the space goddess, Rosalina would dodge it with pinpoint precision. Her claws would get to her upper body, giving way to scratch marks. So Chronoa had to use her blades to counter her hands.

The blades and sharp claws would slash with each other, with both fighters ramping up their speeds after each swing. The sparks from the metal would fling off as they kept trying to get one over on the other.

That was when Chronoa would strike Rosa into the air and prepared to fire another Kairos Cannon, but that's when Rosalina would smirk and transform herself into a Lucky Cat Rosalina. The golden statue would drop towards Chronoa as golden coins would appear from Rosalina's falling path. Chronoa would sidestep at the last second as the statue would create a crater underneath.

She would then grab a hold of the statue and hurl it towards the sky. She then chased after it and charged up beams shaped like clock hands via the Time Clock at her. Rosalina switched back to her living state and saw the Time Clock blasts coming. So she would quickly jump on top of of them one-by-one and managed to dodge much of the homing blasts to boot.

She would weave from one blast to the next, and would notice several coming in all directions. So she managed to use a Star Spin to redirect the attacks so that they would hit each other and implode the second that they made contact with each other.

As the explosion goes on in the background, Chronoa would emerge from out of nowhere and uppercut Rosalina square in the face, making her lose her Power-Up.

(Cue Music: Buckle Up)

Rosalina flung back from the attack, but Chronoa kept up with the offense by delivering more rapid punches to the princess and dragging her across the whole galaxy. She would let out a double axe handle to her head, but Rosalina would quickly dodge it and gave the Kaioshin an elbow strike for her troubles. She would then land some attacks of her own and even landed another Star Spin to smack her away.

She would then summon several orbs of lightning and threw it towards Chronoa, but the Kaioshin retorted by firing huge ki blasts that would engulf the lightning. The blasts coming in for the Holy Time Judgment would force the princess to be backed into a corner, but that's when she remembered the meteors from before.

With a smirk, she would use her telekinesis to bring the debris of the meteors toward her and aim it towards the blasts. These would detonate the Holy Time Judgment and leave behind a massive explosion. Rosalina would leap into the air and leave the explosion in the background behind.

That was when Chronoa would hold mutli-colored energy in her hands and dashed forward.

Chronoa: I've got you in my sights!

She would use her own magic to make an attempt to transport her to another dimension. Rosy would see this coming, however, and formed a star-like ring around her wrist.

Rosalina: I won't give in like that, Kaioshin!

Chronoa: KAI KAI!

Both would thrust their hands forward and a bright light would be formed as the two attacks would intertwine and made the both of them vanish from where they were now towards someplace else in a visage of smoke.

As the smoke would clear up, Chronoa would try to regain her sight from what had just happened.

Chronoa: W-what... Where the hell...?

As she would look around to see where she was, the camera would pan out to a wide shot of the infamous Rainbow Road. This was a long. rainbow-colored racetrack floating above space with several obstacles, speed boosts, and glass Item Boxes.

Chronoa would be amazed to see this place as she landed on the colored floor, taking in the scenery of the course. She would even hear the sounds of a train and turned around to see said train fly across the road on an invisible railroad.

Chronoa: This is amazing... I haven't seen such beauty since confronting Super Shenron...

(Cue Music: N64 Rainbow Road (Mario Kart 8))

Her train of thought would suddenly be halted when she would hear the echos of a regal-like car horn sound behind her. A bright light would dye down to see that Rosalina had also arrived on Rainbow Road as well.

In the distance, Rosalina would emerge from the starting line and was seen driving the Standard Kart that was usually seen in Mario Kart 8. She was zooming towards Chronoa, which prompted the Kai to brace for impact. She would leap towards the Kart, but as soon as she landed, her balance was being shifted as the cosmic driver was trying to throw her off.

Chronoa: Woah woah woah! Careful where you're driving that thing!

Rosalina: Apologies! It's just that you're in my line of view!

Rosalina would make her cart jump and drift along the colored road, with sparks emerging from the wheels at each turn. Chronoa was holding on for dear life as she and Rosa exchanged a punch.

The shockwave of the punch would be felt around the track, but Rosalina refused to let go of the steering wheel. She had to dodge much of Chronoa's punches while keeping herself on the driver's seat. One of the drift boosts would activate and wobbled the Kai for a while before getting back on top of the engine.

She would land a headbutt on the princess's forehead, which causes her kart to stumble to and fro. It was hanging on the edge of the road, clinging on to what was essentially 2 wheels.

Chronoa: Am I too much for you? As such for a goddess of the Time Patrol!

Rosalina: So much for playing fair, huh? Well, two can play at that game!

Rosalina would hold another Power-Up in her hand: a Double Cherry. By clutching her fist and taking its power, a red cloud would emerge and reveal several copies of the princess would appear next to her. The shock in Chronoa's face sums up what she's now dealing with.

Chronoa: Ahh... Crapbaskets.

(Cue Music: Pinch)

Rosalina would regain her kart's balance and shove Chronoa off of Rainbow Road. That's when the Kaioshin got her aura again and flew away, prompting a chase.

The Rosalinas would all put the petal to the metal as they chased after the fleeing Kaioshin of Time. They would all go through the Item Boxes and the items would scroll like a roulette in a small icon box.

Much of the items that landed were Fire Flowers, Boomerang Flowers, and Koopa Shells. They would bring these out on their hands and took aim towards the Kaioshin. As Chronoa kept flying across the air, she noticed several green turtle shells being thrown in her general direction and taking her by surprise.

Chronoa: Wait, was that a turtle shell?!

She looked back to see the Rosalinas throwing their items towards the pink deity, so she had to dodge every single item that was towards her. The constant items are being shot out like multiple stray Kamehameha waves, she thought, so she powered up and increased her speed.

The true Rosalina would soon get another Item Box and was rewarded with an Invincibility Star. She would take its power and have a rainbow-colored appearance.

(Cue Music: Starman (Paper Mario: The Origami King))

Rosalina: I'm not one to fall back like that!

Jumping off of her Kart, she would teleport right in front of Chronoa and gave her a massive kick to the gut. She would spit out some saliva before being hit by Rosy's swift kicks and spin attacks.

She would use her wand to strike her square in the nose and send her crashing hard onto Rainbow Road. As she struggled to get back up, she would find herself surrounded by the rest of the Rosalinas. The real deal would then hover over the copies and use her magic to give the copies the Invincibility Power-Up as well.

As Chronoa looked on as to what was going on, she grew a little nervous as to what she was in.

Chronoa: Ehehe... Uh... Is it too late to call for a time-out?

Every Rosalina would gather around and jump towards Chronoa like a pack of Saibamen. They would take turns giving every punch, kick, slap, sweep, projectile, and even backhand to the Supreme Kai of Time, all while retaining their temporary invulnerability.

An uppercut would be delivered to send Chronoa into the air before a copy would take her back down with a dropkick to the floor.

Every copy would soon teleport above her and raise their wands into the air to summon a massive fireball that would match the size of an Absolute Release Ball. They would then throw the fireball towards Chronoa's direction, who was trying to get herself back up.

(Cue Music: Birth of the Super Saiyan God)

As she noticed the incoming fireball of doom, she would scoff and took her stance before letting her arms out in the air and closing her eyes. A yellow sphere would surround Chronoa and make an attempt to clash with the huge fireball.

As it landed, something would burst from the epicenter and overtake its flaming color. It would then cause the flames to explode and shoot smaller blasts all across Rainbow Road, dissolving its parts of its multi-colored essence.

This would take out the Rosalina copies as well as they would be obliterated by the incoming attacks. The real Rosalina would have to float upwards to avoid being hit as she remains as the only one standing, but as she stared into the light, she sensed something powerful emerging.

Rosalina: That power... It's as if all of time is flowing from within her!

It would soon dye down to reveal Chronoa with a taller and more grandiose appearance, complete with a new white-&-yellow dress, longer hair, yellow eyes, and a halo behind her. Upon opening her eyes, she had transformed into her Time Power Unleashed form.

Chronoa would soon levitate to Rosalina's level and gave a cold stare to boot.

Chronoa: Behold, Princess Rosalina. This is the power of time itself!

The Supreme Kai of Time would perform the Time Patrol pose, to which Rosalina simply smiled.

Rosalina: I'm amazed... By how much your power has grown, you've become quite the standout.

Chronoa: I appreciate the sentiment... But we end things now!

(Cue Music: Buoy Base Galaxy (GaMetal Cover))

The strengthened Kaioshin would summon her Key Sword and held it up in her grasp. She would then fire a massive beam of energy towards the sky and make its blasts consume the whole screen.

It would reveal Chronoa and Rosalina having teleported elsewhere from Rainbow Road. Now, they were in the vast space of Universe 7. Several portals from across the Xenoverse's timelines would also suddenly open up.

Rosalina would look around to see the astonishing feat that Chronoa was able to pull off. But as she regained her focus on the kaioshin, she was already speeding towards her and slashed her with the Key Sword.

This forced Rosalina to hold her wand and attack as well. The galactic wind would clash with the Key Sword multiple times, but each swing would have its power nullified by Chronoa's sacred weapon.

Rosalina would then try to attempt another Star Spin, but the effects would become petrified and Chronoa kicked her away.

Chronoa: Godly Chronos Cannon!

She would then release a massive Godly Chronos Cannon towards the celestial princess before Rosalina created another forcefield around her and tried to hold the blast. However, it would suddenly start to push Rosa back the more she tried to put more juice into the attack.

The forcefield would soon break, and this would cause Rosalina to be carried around by the blast like a roller coaster. She would try to push it back, but the explosion would soon explode once crashing into a nearby asteroid.

The debris would cause Rosalina to stumble throughout the air before Chronoa would appear and land several punches and kicks. This combo would cause Rosalina to get bruised from head to toe. Chronoa would finish her combo by shooting out a massive energy blast that would seen from hundreds of miles away.

Rosalina: Gck!

Rosalina wouldn't give in so easily, so she stood her ground and summoned several meteors from the sky and hurled them towards Chronoa. Chronoa would see these coming towards her as she would use her Key Sword to slice through the meteors and make them explode in the background.

Both of them would soon vanish into thin air before several noises of punches and kicks would be heard from several parts of the area. Afterimages would also show how much they were nearly on par with each other, but within seconds, Chronoa would deliver a left hook to Rosalina and send her downwards.

Chronoa: That'll put you down for the count! And maybe this will be the finisher!

As Rosa got sent into the downward abyss, Chronoa would then hold the Key Sword into the air and shot out a massive beam. This would spawn several more Key Swords into play as they swarmed across space and glow a bright blue. These would soon bring forth giant chains from out of nowhere and begin to harness the power of time itself. This would also help lock the both of them in a trap that could help with Chronoa's sealing abilities.

Rosalina would regain consciousness before realizing where she was. Chronoa would smirk before summoning forth a massive red ball of energy that would trap the Luma protector.

Chronoa: This was a fun battle, but it's about time that I've shut you down... for good!!

She would close her open fist as she would perform the Dark Labyrinth and cause the red energized prison to close on itself and explode massively. This would have Rosalina trapped as she screamed in pure agony.

Rosalina: AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!

The screen would flash into a white color and everything seemed to have gotten blank. Was the battle finally over...?

(Cue Music: Luma Theme)

In a black background, Rosalina would be seen falling into what seems to be an endless void. Defeated, vanquished, lost. She was feeling like this was the end for her. A tear would form from her eye as she could only hold herself up for the inevitable.

Rosalina: I'm sorry, everyone... Peach... Mario... My Lumas... I failed you all...

As if all hope had been lost for the princess, she would hear the cries of what seemed to be a Luma. She widened her eyes to figure out where the sounds were coming from and see that a yellow Luma was approaching them. It would give her a massive hug to help calm her tears away.

It would then hold a magical Power Star, which gave Rosalina an idea and a new motivation to keep going. The Luma would then cheer for its adoptive mother as it wanted her to succeed in her fight.

Rosalina: You're right... I won't let this be the end. We'll finish this and let the Stars guide our way!

Wiping her tears, Rosalina would then summon a white Invincibility Leaf in her hand as the Power Star would shine bright and cover the entire background and screen.

(Music stops.)

As Chronoa would look on to see the damage being done, she was going to put her Key Sword away and close the time portals before she sensed a huge energy. In fact, the energy was all too familiar, giving her a shocked expression.

Chronoa: W-wait a second... She's still alive?!

(Cue Music: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Staff Credits (2:24))

A bright light would suddenly emerge from where the princess was supposedly struck. It would dim down to reveal that Rosalina was able to use an Invincibility Leaf to recover herself from the Dark Labyrinth. Now with the White Tanooki Suit, Rosalina was ready for her last charge as she steadied herself in front of the Supreme Kai of Time.

Chronoa: How are you this strong?! It's just aggravating at this point!

Rosalina: An intriguing question... As you've mastered time, I have something you lack... The guidance of the Stars!

Rosalina would raise her arms in the air as the Power Star that was given would appear and grow in size thanks to several other Stars from across time and space coming together and fueling her trump card. She was bringing forth these Stars and combining them to form Grand Star as her last resort. Harnessing its power, it would hover above Rosalina and surround her in a shining aura. The sky around the two, as well as the portals and chains, began to formulate into a giant cosmic tunnel.

Rosalina: I am Princess Rosalina, protector of the galaxy and ruler of the Lumas! This is the power of my family!

With the Kaioshin seemingly on the back foot, she would hold her Key Sword close and begin to awaken it with her powers. Thanks to gathering nearby energy from the time portals, its golden appearance would quickly transform into a giant, cyan blade with little chains attaching itself around her arm. The Awakened Key Sword was finally coming to play.

Chronoa: Funny how you bring up power, Rosalina... Cause I've got power that transcends beyond time itself! HAAAA!!

(Cue Music: [SUPER HERO])

Chronoa and Rosalina would rush towards each other one more time and have both the sword and the invincible tail clash with each other, causing all of the giant chains to vibrate.

They would soon begin to clash their attacks more, with Rosalina adding several kicks to get the edge on this battle. They kept this up as everything was rupturing around them.

The Grand Star continued to grow exponentially as the two kept on fighting. Rosalina would soon harness the air element and shoot it towards Chronoa, but she would slice up the attack with her Key Sword once again.

Rosalina would then go for another punch, but her adversary was able to dodge it in time before giving a massive upwards slash. The damage dealt by the pinkie would cause Rosalina's White Tanooki Suit to flicker between its invulnerable form and the regular state.

This would give the Time Patrol leader the advantage she needed as she continued to swing her sword and splash Rosalina's blood from out of her body. One more swing would then do the trick as Rosalina's Power-Up would disappear and leave her with nothing left.

She looked at how much she was being outmatched, while Chronoa readied her Key Sword to prepare for the final blow.

Chronoa: Any final words, princess?!

Rosalina would then smile as she would summon one last Power-Up. The Mega Mushroom.

Rosalina: Just a few... Let's-a go.

Rosalina would harness the Power-Up and grow as huge as a skyscraper within seconds. As Chronoa looked on, the princess would be near the seemingly-completed Grand Star. She would then use her magic to become one with its power.

Chronoa: Hmph!

Rosalina: HAAAA!!

Rosalina would then fling her hand forward and force the giant Grand Star to approach the Supreme Kai of Time. Gripping the Key Sword's handle, Chronoa would take a deep breathe in and out before she would let out one last trump card of her own.

Chronoa: TIME FREEZE!!

A massive field wave would surround everything as Chronoa would freeze time itself. Everything was halted to her as she would hold out an energy sphere right in front of the Grand Star.

She would then power up with a golden aura and gave a new order.

Chronoa: Unfreeze! Have my Reflect!

Time would resume once again and the Grand Star would suddenly be halted by Chronoa's Reflect. The attack would then cause the Grand Star to bounce back and head towards Rosalina.

Rosalina: No! Impossible!

Chronoa: Nothing's impossible when you're the Supreme Kai of Time!!

She would then raise her hand into the air and summon a dark cloud above Rosalina's head. This was the Temporal Justice that was being used as she would throw the hand down and a giant pink lightning bolt would cause Rosalina to be stuck in place and be electrocuted. The Grand Star would get closer and closer as Rosalina could only do nothing but let her fate come to her.

Rosalina: GAAAAAHHH!!!

The Grand Star would suddenly explode once it would touch Rosalina, causing a massive implosion that could be heard and felt from across Universe 7 and even beyond. The chains were also about to snap soon and was due to have its powers wear off.

The implosion would then spew out a rocketing Rosalina into the air, having wasted the Mega Mushroom's time limit and reverted back to base size.

Chronoa would then teleport above the princess before giving one last declaration.

Chronoa: GAME! OVER! HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!

The Supreme Kai of Time would dash forward and give off a massive Key Sword Breaker attack to the cosmic protector and slice straight through her body. What followed was Rosalina's body slowly being vertically sliced in half as blood would melt from her insides.

Rosalina: AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH-!!!

That was when she would explode in a body of stars and sparkles, accompanied by what could only be a glitched out scream for help.

The massive chains would finally break apart as Chronoa would quickly look at Rosalina fading away from existence. The background would also burst back to what it once looked like instead of being covered by a tunnel. That was when the time portals would close and the chains would also disappear, leaving the victorious temporal goddess alone to feel the heat of the battle's climax.

Sighing, both Chronoa and her Key Sword would revert back to normal. She would then look up into the air and give a small smile.

Chronoa: It's finished... Rosalina... You will be remembered dearly...

K O !

(Ending A: On the edge of the Time Nest, the Comet Observatory would be used as Chronoa's new home, with the Kaioshin being seen switching its fuel from Power Stars to Time Scrolls.)

(Ending B: Back in Universe 7, Rosalina's wand would be seen floating in space as the last remnant of the Lumas' mother would be left by its own to float across the cosmos.)

Results[]

(Cue Music: CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA (FLOW Version))

Boomstick: Sheesh. I guess all those Lumas are gonna be lonely orphans now. Weird how irony works.

Wiz: Despite Rosalina's cosmic powers and more sustainable defense, the Supreme Kai of Time had her scouted in many different categories.

Boomstick: Both could alter the fabric of reality, send each other to different dimensions, and nullify any energy that would directly counter much of their massive arsenals, especially when comparing Power Stars and even Grand Stars to Time Power and the Potara Earrings.

Wiz: And Rosalina's arguably much, MUCH more smarter compared to Chronoa, but that's where the differences start to become more transparent. While Rosalina has shown to reset the entire Mario universe and put its cycle on an infinite loop, Chronoa has shown to effect whole timelines across a multiverse.

Pop-Up Note: In the Super Mario-Kun manga, Rosalina has been shown to interact and beat up the mangaka, which implies that she can reach way beyond a 4th or 5th dimensional multiverse. However, this was only done for comedic purposes and wouldn't really help her case.

Boomstick: And that's just calculating their powers at a very small level. Going all out was a lot of work to figure out.

Wiz: Let's face the facts. Chronoa wasn't really going anywhere in her base form, having to rely on throwing whatever she could find to get an opening.

Boomstick: Thankfully, she's had plenty of experience with working around similar disadvantages before. Mechikabura was way more powerful than Chronoa when he first possessed her with dark magic, but once she broke free, she and Xeno Trunks were able to take him down, even after he combined his own Time Power Unleashed form and the Chaos Ball.

Wiz: And when she wasn't in her Time Power form, she was already capable of helping her fellow Time Patrollers become on par with gods capable of destroying time and space.

Boomstick: And time was definitely not in Rosy's favor. That part was way too obvious.

ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES[]

  • Chronoa
    • (+) Stronger and much faster
    • (+) Can easily pick up Rosalina's energy
    • (+) Can counter any Power-Up
    • (+) Key Sword can nullify the Grand Star
    • (+) Time > Space
    • (=) Similar variety in abilities and counters
    • (-) Struggled when fighting in close range
  • Rosalina
    • (+) Better defense and intelligence
    • (+) Can redirect most ki attacks
    • (+) Power-Ups allowed for more versatility
    • (=) Similar variety in abilities and counters
    • (-) Slower and lacked a better offense
    • (-) Less workarounds for Key Sword
    • (-) Can't resist time powers

Wiz: Like with the Time Patrol's final stand against Mechikabura, as an example. His Chaos Ball had already consumed the infinite timelines across the multiverse, and the Supernova wouldn't really compare, even if we leaned more into it with the benefit of a doubt. At minimum, the Chaos Ball would be over 5 million times stronger than the massive supernova that Rosalina held back.

Boomstick: There was also the matter of their speed, durability, and counters. Surprisingly, both fighters had a lot of stuff to hold their own, but more often than not, Chronoa had an edge in throwing Rosa's powers out of the picture.

Wiz: While the Mario games have been shown to stretch out and showcase the lengths of its whole universe, especially when the Starship Mario was able to fly to different galaxies in a matter of seconds, Dragon Ball practically has power levels and layers that go beyond normal dimensional planes and speeds, making it roughly impossible to get a limit on where those could possible stop.

Pop-Up Note: Levels like Matter Splatter Galaxy are stated to take place in a hyperspatial plane of existence, but the Crack of Time, as well as the infinite timelines, Parallel Quests, and peripheral timelines seen in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2's Infinite History DLC etch out the differentiating gap.

Boomstick: The Mario games haven't really shown to explore that type of matter, despite some galaxies saying otherwise.

Pop-Up Note: The logic of Dragon Ball Heroes also dives into similar existential planes with more sourced materials than the Mario cosmology, like with Beat's world being described as going beyond Dragon Ball's boundaries of existence and even Fu's Universe Tree being able to transcend infinite dimensional spaces.

Wiz: That's right. And Rosalina's obviously much more faster than the Comet Observatory. She could possibly reach well beyond the quintillions of times beyond light speed and may even catch up to Chronoa. However, she's never shown to truly showcase them in official media. Xeno Trunks has shown to move across the multiverse over several septillion times faster than light (and maybe even more) at an easy mileage. Even with both medias' very nature of power levels, it would still overshadow the Comet Observatory. Hell, Chronoa's speed and power could possibly reach immeasurable lengths!

Boomstick: And even though Lumas are able to make whole galaxies, Tokitoki's eggs can make whole timelines, which hold universes as an extraterrestrial yolk. Sure, you can say that the invincibility power-ups like the Leaves, Bells, and Stars were guaranteed fail-safes, but it doesn't really explain how it could help her attack more efficiently.

Pop-Up Note: Xeno Goku has proven to affect time and space around him as he keeps increasing his energy, and Chronoa has proven to scale to his level on several occasions and even surpassing him at other points in times.

Wiz: Chronoa's martial arts and better flight control also helped catch up to and surpass Rosalina's mobility, offering options to form close-quarter strategies that can widen the window of opportunity.

Boomstick: Sure, Rosalina can easily fly without assistance as well, but no! Dragon Ball characters just have to outclass Mario characters in the speed department.

Wiz: In the world of Dragon Ball, the greater power level can overwrite anything the weaker one does, much like with time manipulation, shutting down a person's mind, and affecting reality itself. Basically, anything that Rosalina threw at Chronoa would be countered with a stronger attack or spell.

Boomstick: And it also didn't require any Power-Up to figure that out. This was also the case for when Goku and Jiren shook the entire Null Realm during the Tournament of Power or even Broly and Gogeta shattering whole dimensions, regardless of which version you're looking at.

Wiz: The Key Sword was also an essential tool as means of locking down Rosalina and her powers, putting her in a place where even fabricating all of space wouldn't have done much.

Boomstick: So in any case, Chronoa had her number on multiple occasions. But Wiz, we shouldn't leave out the Grand Star like it was nothing! I thought with its ability to seal black holes and its ability to invert cosmic matter let her control the entire battle like her own plaything!

Pop-Up Note: It's possible that Rosalina could control Chronoa's mind if given the chance, but she'd run the risk of having her own memories erased if she wasn't careful with getting too close for comfort.

Wiz: While it is likely that the Grand Star could help her reach the same multiversal levels of power, there hasn't been any further implications as to how she could use this a means of landing a perfect blow.

Boomstick: Confusing? Yes. But remember how Chronoa's Time Power Unleashed form lets her control all of time itself? Time is needed for space's existence, so that basically sums up the mileage of the Grand Star's power. No matter what, it basically acts as a car battery that either one could harness and use to their liking.

Wiz: Even if we were to redo this battle a couple more times, there wasn't really any necessary win conditions that would let Rosalina get any advantage without the stars' energy, thus leaving her with a heavy handicap.

Rosalina: And if time were to explode in case of Chronoa's death, then space goes with it, which would be a massive red flag for the princess in cyan. So nothing was going to stop Chronoa from jumping that shark and offing Rosy without worrying about herself with all this in mind.

Wiz: So in a way, it's possible that Chronoa COULD be able to resist the Grand Star, at least until its powers were completely worn off. In any other case, they'd be nearly on par with each other. Rosalina may have held reality-shifting displays of power at her grasp, but she would've never prepared for Chronoa's speed, counters, and control over time itself.

Boomstick: To Rosa-leave on a high note, Chronoa just had the time of her life!

Wiz: The winner is the Supreme Kai of Time, Chronoa!

Trivia[]

  • The connections between Rosalina and Chronoa are that they are both cosmic goddesses that watch over space and time (Rosalina watching over the cosmos and Chronoa being the Supreme Kai of Time) and enlist the help of a hero for assistance on their mission (Mario and Xeno Trunks). They have powers that could rival those of higher powers (stars and time itself) and are able to use a cosmic weapon for surreal feats (the Grand Star and the Key Sword). They also watch over a group of people worth protecting and have even had some of these heroes either join them in the battlefield or even the other way around (the Lumas and the Time Patrol) and are even capable of powerful transformations (the Invincibility Suit and the Time Power Unleashed form).
  • The soundtrack for this fight would be "Space-Time Superstars". This is meant to reference Rosalina and Chronoa's duty to watch over space and time, as well as the "Superstars" wording as a Mario Party reference. The cover of the soundtrack would be the Grand Star being surrounded by the Key Sword's chains and sprinkles of stars falling from the sky. The song itself would use various types of synths to create a space/time theme and would be sung by a female Japanese singer with a backing chorus.
  • This fight would be animated in 3D Blender/MoonRay or in 2D sprite animation.
