I remember when I left The Horned Serpent. I landed on your moon first. I knew better than to set foot on your world. I wondered whether you all would accept me or not. To find the answer, I have run an experiment. I produced three beings out of myself. The Son, The Knight, and The Queen. All three of them are extensions of me. They are meant to test your world. But they will go mad, each in their own way. Your world is not kind to them. Your world will never be kind. Their sacrifice will make me realize that I can never risk stepping foot on Earth, either. The closest I will ever be to your world is right here, on the Moon.
~ Nixon explains his motivations to Ed Dwight, moments prior to killing him

God, of course, is the greatest philosopher of all.
~ Richard Nixon

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
~ Matthew 6:9-13

History[]

Deanverse[]

Candidacy[]

It's likely that Nixon's backstory is extremely similar, if not identical to the one in our universe up to the point of the 37th presidential election, where he would face against not against Hubert Humphrey, but against the extremely charismatic James Dean. Dean would be a fierce adversary to Nixon, with popularity polls showing that he was the most popular candidate in spite of his little public appearances compared to the other two candidates.

Friendship with Dean[]

Two weeks before the election, a presidential debate between Dean and Nixon was arranged. Dean, however, had other plans and decided to invite Nixon to a race cars at a track instead. Nixon, reluctant at first, agreed and spent the rest of the day with Dean, quickly gaining respect for his adversary and admitting that he would be a better president than he already was. This started a friendship that would persist even after Dean won the presidential election, with racing cars at the track becoming a tradition between the two friends.

This tradition would persist even after the great siren disaster orchestrated by the ADA, rendering most of the population of America deaf and the eventual rising of Maize as the leading company in technology, showing how close the two were at the time of Dean's second term as president.

The Great Division[]

In February 22nd, 2022, a series of particular events would set the Deanverse into it's destruction at the hands of the now freed Horned Serpent. Nixon, however, having gained superhuman abilities through unknown means, survived the initial blast and quickly escaped to a brand new universe, not before slaying the beast and collecting it's skull.

Nixonverse[]

Arrival[]

After having arrived to the Nixonverse through unknown means (although one can assume it was via the Special Trees that formed the Cornerworld), Nixon, conscious of his superhuman abilities and uncertain whether the inhabitants of this new world would accept him, landed on the Moon first.

He would run an experiment to see how humanity would react to beings such as him in the form of three beings, all extensions of himself: The Last Son of Alcatraz, The D-Day Knight, and The Queen of the Lunarians. He would send the former two to Earth, where they would serve as super-hero vigilantes, using their powers to aid in multiple wars, whereas the latter would rule the Lunarians.

It is unknown if Nixon had a role in the creation of the Lunarians or if they were already an existing species.

Moon God[]

Nixon's experiment would ultimately result in disaster, with the D-Day Knight seemingly missing, his helmet (made from the skull of the Horned Serpent) lost in the battlefield, and with the Last Son being kidnapped and used as a weapon of war by the USA Government.

Nixon would come to the conclusion that humanity in this universe was simply not suited, or unwilling to welcome beings like him, completely discarding all possibility of stepping down to Earth after what had happened to his creations.

It's also implied that he would receive visions of his creation's fates, showing him that each and every one of them is bound to go insane in one way or another, with the Last Son eventually becoming the Crescent King. Nixon would then see him as a true threat to the universe, and would decide to intervene once the moment arrives.

He reveals all of this to Ed Dwight during the first Moon Landing, moments before Ed takes his own life after seemingly being in the process of being evicted from reality.

This is later revealed to be a cover-up, as Nixon murders Ed Dwight on the Moon after his speech, and begins to explain that the only way to stop The Crescent King without physical altercation is to fictionalize reality itself, including himself, in order to stop the death that may ensue. Nixon overwrites the past to turn the events of THE NIXONVERSE into a comic book written by MISTER MANTICORE and illustrated by Ed Dwight, making it parallel to the history of real life reality, turning Ed Dwight into a metaphysical creator of the reality they existed in, as he’s described as a god greater than Nixon.
